| Here's something I've been working on for a little while, a 1996 vs commodore. This will be a public patreon release when it's eventually ready but I want to be 100% happy with it before I let anyone hand over any money. Engine options: ecotec, 5L, LS3 and barra. Trim options: berlina, s pack, ss and gtsr. (Maybe manta in the future) I'm yet to animate the interior and I want to add airbags before release but it's turning out well. It's not ready yet but I thought I'd share this with you guys. submitted by DeflatedG to BeamNG [link] [comments] |
2024.05.16 00:19 malcolm58 Drink/Drug driver hits stobie pole and power out in Para Vista
SAPOL: A man has been arrested after crashing his car in the north-eastern suburbs in the early hours of the morning. Just after 12.30am Thursday 16 May, police received reports a white Commodore had crashed into a stobie pole on Nelson Road, Valley View, causing power lines to come down.
The male driver was seen running from the scene by a witness, however PolAir were already overhead and tracked the man to a nearby street. PolAir assisted Holden Hill patrols in locating the man on Hawick Street. He attempted to run from police but was arrested shortly after. The man was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries as a result of the collision.
The driver, a 33-year-old Seaton man, has been charged with driving without due care, leaving the scene of a crash, failing to state details and resisting police.
The vehicle was also towed from the scene with extensive damage. The driver had a sample of his blood taken and he will likely be charged with drink and drug driving. He is likely to receive police bail to appear in court at a later date. The roundabout at the intersection of Nelson Road and Wright Road is closed in all directions due to electrical works being carried out. Local detours are in placed however please avoid the area where possible.
Traffic SA: NELSON ROAD/WRIGHT ROAD, PARA VISTA Nelson Road and Wright Road, Para Vista are currently closed in all directions due to electrical works. Local detours are in place. Buses are exempt from the closure.

2024.05.11 03:05 YourOwnBiggestFan If you were to choose 10 vehicles to be added to the game, what would be your picks?
Inspired by a thread from the Beam forums, here's a question. They can be whatever you want, but can't find in the game as it is right now.
For me:
- Ford Model B/V8-style car, all the hot rod goodies included.
- 1960s Gavril truck - part 1960-66 and 1967-72 C/K/Blazer, part 1961-65 and 1965-71 Dodge D/W.
- 1960s/70s European Gavril economy car - mainly based on the Mk1 Escort (rally!), but with inspiration from the Kadett B and Cortina Mk2 (e.g. US-spec models).
- Early 1970s American fullsize luxury car, mainly based on the 1971-76 Fleetwood 60 Special and 75 (including hearse and ambulance models).
- Jaguar XJS-like sports car, including a small block V8 swap option.
- Ibishu 350S/Galatea - kinda like a 350Z, but with another Reliant homage in the form of a Scimitar GTE (or just Volvo C30) inspired retro shooting brake rear.
- 00s/10s Ibishu pickup and SUV, with the pickup based on the D40 Navara/Frontier and KA L200, and the SUV based on the R51 Pathfinder, KG Pajero Sport and Endevour.
- A remastered Gavril MV4 from RoR, but this time reimagined as a Holden Commodore VE/VF equivalent, with export models inspired by the Pontiac G8, Chevrolet SS (but also including V6s), Vauxhall VXR8 (ditto, plus a V6 diesel) and EU-spec Chrysler 300C. Also include a Commodore/Magnum/300C Touring-style wagon, and the obligatory ute.
- A Tesla Model 3/Y equivalent, the game's first purpose built EV and a representation of the world's most popular car.
- A new Bruckell truck - 14th gen F-150 meets 5th gen Super Duty meets 5th gen Ram, from a 1500 (including a Lightning-like EV) to a 5500.

2024.05.10 15:30 TheRubyEmperor The Expanse. I don’t get it.
I see posts here praising both the show and the books so I thought I would give the show a try. I feel like I’m missing something. I don’t really like any of the characters all that much. Holden is annoying, miller is annoying, Amos is interesting, a few others are also kinda interesting but that’s about it. Earth vs moon vs belt is kinda interesting I guess. Protomolecule is kinda cool so far. Maybe this is just a matter of preference not aligning but it feels like I’m being pranked or something. I’m at season 2 episode 9 am I just not far enough into the story or is it simply not to my taste?

2024.05.10 05:38 Sleep__ Was Pretty Disappointed With "We Sold Our Souls" - is it a good representation of Grady Hendrix's work?
I did not like it, it was my first read of Grady Hendrix. I've got How To Sell a Haunted House taken out from the library for another couple weeks. Should I start it?
The plot concept of We Sold Our Souls was pretty cool and, as an aging metalhead, all of the references to less known bands and artists were fun.
But holy crap the prose didn't do anything for me. I found his waxing about the middle American wasteland and Kris' dreary life cumbersome. The dialogue and characters felt flat and disengaging.
And what the hell were the lyrics to "Troglodyte?" Is Grady Hendrix actually a fan of metal? They read like lyrics written by someone who's never read the lyrics off the sleeve of a metal record. I cringed every time another song turned out to be a pithy metal aphorism. It was especially corny considering that this was supposed to be a "trve kvlt" metal album and the MC who wrote these lyrics rails against bands like Korn and Slipknot.
The whole concept of Troglodyte vs. Black Iron Mountain was neat and mystic, but it was referenced so much it just got boring every time the idiom got mentioned.
The only parts of the book that I ended up enjoying were the few splattery and gruesome sections like when JD got torn apart and Kris crawling through the pipes and caves beneath the rehab
I've had it on my list for a while because I know this sub recommends this book a lot and I don't want to write off Grady Hendrix because of one book.
Additional question: does anyone here listen to Last Podcast on the left? Is Grady Hendrix the Holden McNeely of Horror lit?

2024.05.09 19:58 TheEpiccMoe Ute help
| So I'm in NZ and my dad had this 1990 VG Utility Ute, I'm not sure if that's exactly what it is but that's what it says it is online and is what it's registered as, I now own it and am not very sure on what it is because some guy approached me and seemed very interested in it stating it was a VE 3.5 Commodore saying it was some of the first burnout cars Holden made, I'm really not sure if what he was saying is true or not but now I don't know what to think anymore. I'm on the fence about what it is because my dad sometimes cut corners when it came to things like this (might've been cheaper to register it or something). Wondering if any of y'all could tell me what it is exactly, I do want to hang on to it as long as I can for several reason and it would be good to know what it is I am driving. https://preview.redd.it/5mj8pw3awfzc1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f53d3fe58a84ad6b0f0566538b089bf6d093cc5 submitted by TheEpiccMoe to Holden [link] [comments] |

Hello, my bf has a VS commodore and recently replaced the head gasket in it but after taking it for a test drive it’s still leaking. He’s spend loads of money and time on it and isn’t sure what else to do. Could it be a broken cylinder? I’m not good with cars so please ask anymore question if it’ll help to better understand

2024.05.08 22:13 ErikTheRed99 I think the ETK 800 somehow handles worse than the Bastion!
I'm doing a little bit of testing with a Bastion, and an ETK 800 at the Hirochi raceway. The 800 is equipped with a Bastion 5.7 from a mod, and I've been modifying the Jbeam myself to have the new Bastion engine sounds. Upon testing, which I haven't don a whole lot of, it seems that the ligher, shorter wheelbase ETK 800 might actually handle WORSE than the Bastion, which defeats the whole point of my custom ETK 800. It's supposed to mirror the Holden Commodore/Pontiac G8/Chevy SS in that it has a 'Murican V8, but it still takes corners well. I know the G8 IRL takes corners better than both the Bastion and the ETK 800, so this test was a little disappointing. I guess at this point the G8-esque ETK 800 is a bust, which sucks.

2024.05.08 18:57 emi_fyi man vs bear - james s.a. corey's take (via holden)
“Oh, I know the answer to that one. I’m his dancing bear,” Holden said, and lay back on the grass and looked up at the sky. …
“Dancing bear?” [Teresa] said.
“Old kings used to have dangerous animals in their courts. Lions. Panthers. Bears. They’d teach them to do tricks or at least not to eat too many of the guests. It’s a way to show power. Everyone knows a bear is a killer, but the king is so powerful that a bear’s just a plaything for him. …That’s the point of a dancing bear. It’s the least dangerous thing at the court, because everyone’s aware of it. The ones you trust are always the most dangerous. A lot more kings and princesses got poisoned by their friends than eaten by bears.”
—
Tiamat's Wrath, pg. 98. Emphasis mine.
man vs bear is one thing. man vs bear vs duarte is something else entirely! just read this passage the other night and had to share due to the discourse. it's not very spoilery, but wanted to tag anyway :)
