I see a lot of helpful posts about enlighten app but did not see this particular question so starting fresh post.
TLDR: installer says they cannot track production from two separate systems unless both systems are enphase brand systems. True?
My solar installer has had difficulty integrating the monitoring for the new panels with my older “legacy” system and I am being told the Enphase system cannot report both the new system and my legacy system because the legacy Microinverters will not communicate with the Enphase monitoring system.
Previously, the sales rep communicated that new system ~would be able to report total production from legacy system and report / track individual production on the new panels~ with the Enphase IQ8+ Microinverters and would not be able to track individual panel production with the Enlighten App. Now tech is saying:
" I called Enphase this morning, the short answer from them is that we cannot track production from two separate systems unless both systems are enphase brand systems. To track all production, we will need to replace all of the Blue Frog microinverters with Enphase micro inverters."
~Legacy System~

After the install I got errors on the Enlighten App and the production readings were “confused” to say the least. In talking with the tech who has come out several times, he said the system cannot talk directly with the Blue Frog Microinverters, and is “confused” with the additional generation of the 32 legacy panels (16 Blue Frog Microinverters). Image below represents the Enphase inverters in Blue and the bars on top are labeled consumed power but tech reports that these are actually the generation from the legacy system. I do not know if this is true, but the curve of values does seem reasonably to track with solar exposure during the day.

Tech returned yesterday and monkeyed around with the system for a while and said there was not a way to capture the legacy system in the reporting on the Enlighten app. He did remove the legacy feed so it no longer appears as consumed on top of the blue bars. Reporting still shows my consumed power.

A system that can combine new and legacy system in the reporting app does not seem super unusual to me but the installer is challenged to come up with a way for the Enlighten App to report from the other strings of panels that use the blue frog Microinverters and the Enphase microinverters.
Can the Enphase combiner and app be setup for my new and legacy system to report all production? Apologies in advance if I am misusing or butchering terminology or concepts.

You don't expect it from the way the tune starts rather, let's say "level headed" with just some nice drum work and occasional synth stab, but when the main part comes in, you're guaranteed to start jumping!

6. Unknown Structure - Music For The Brain (Remix) [Frankfurt Beat Productions // Germany 1994] The perfect starter track for a set filled with 90s high-energy Hard-Trance & Rave! You get about a minute of preparation and moody intro vibes, until the main synth starts taking you on a journey you'll never forget. Another breather around 3:30 mins and then you're granted a second ride through this amazing buildup of sounds! "Sound of Frankfurt" at it's finest.

7. Mental Glue - Accuphase [OverOut // Germany 1995] Starts off already hard with great kickdrum & Acid combo which on it's own already get your heart pumping. But then the break introduces an amazing uplifting melody as counterpoint to the first part that works just perfect. This is the type of "hard-but-still-melodical" tune that could only be made in the 90s!

8. Secret Alloy - Mon-Ka ["Second Chapter EP" // Pedo Beat Records // Germany 1995] And yet another B-side sleeper hit. Good buildup, then everything gets stripped down and you wonder if this track goes anywhere – but you'll soon be rewarded for your patience! The melody is a perfect example of "simple makes it memorable", only 3 notes but used expertly, and with a nice piercing synth sound to drive it into your brain while raving.

9. M-Modulator - Boff ["Sour Lips EP" // Ugly Frog Productions // Germany 1996] If you ever wanted to drift off into Acid-Hard-Trance hypnosis for almost 8 minutes, then this tune is for you. Just enough variation of the sounds, underpinned with a repetitive "flickering" sound loop to keep you in trance the whole time, almost invites you to just play this track on repeat in the background to keep you energized and hypnotized for as long as you need.

10. Fiocco - Sordo ["Afflitto" // Outline // Belgium 1997] This might be the most surprising B-side bomb of them all...! The main track on this release would later be made famous in cooperation with Kosmonova (renamed to "Celebrate"), and who would expect a fast Hard-Trance/Rave tune on such a slower "clubsound of the late 90s" release? There's also only one pressing where this particular track even exists, but taking this stark contrast of styles into account it's not that surprising. Just take my word for it, and check this 175 BPM banger out. But don't complain if your legs hurt after bouncing to this!

Money Makers

• If you are going to 100% this game, don’t sell items you will need later unless you already have extra, especially gems. Crosscheck it with the Armor Upgrade link above.
• I regularly cycled through Moldugas and the Lynels in the Floating Coliseum every blood moon. Lynel Hooves and Molduga Guts are easy to collect and have extra to sell at a good price.
• Extra armor is great to sell and can be easily obtained with Amiibos (if you have them all - I have the cards). In my experience, armor didn’t have a high drop rate until after I finished 2/4 regional phenomena

Armor / Weapon Tips

• Best Armor Suits to hunt and upgrade to at least Level 2: Radiant Armor, Froggy Armor, Glide Armor, Rubber Armor, Flamebreaker Armor, and Snowquill
• My go-to weapon (although way overpowered) is the Gerudo Scimitar fused with a Molduga Jaw., although you can use any Gerudo weapon (Gerudo weapons double the attack power of the item it's fused with). Combined with a Level 2+ Radiant Armor, you'll be able to kill any enemy with ease. Include a Level 3 attack potion or sneak attack from a puff shroom, there are plenty of enemies you can kill with 1 hit.

Rock Octoroks
Mark these locations on your map and visit when you want to refresh a weapon. Turn off Sages or they will shoot the Octoroks before they refresh your weapon. One thing I found out on my own is you don’t have to wait for the Octorok to spit the weapon out, as soon as he sucks it in, shoot him with an arrow and your weapon will be good as new.

Fighting Lynels
Royal Guard’s Claymore: you can find inside Hyrule Castle behind a broken statue in Hyrule Castle Sanctum (-0282, 1086, 0356). I liked to fuse Molduga Jaws with this. Once fused, keep kitting the ground or anything until you get the message: “Your Royal Guard’s Claymore is badly damaged,” then hit it 2 more times. Your weapon will be down to 1 hit and 1 hit only before it breaks. Save this weapon for your Lynel fights. When you ride the backs of Lynels, you have infinite weapon durability so your weapon won’t break. Combine Royal Guard’s Claymore fused with Molduga Jaw and Radiant Armor, you’ll be able to defeat most Lynels in 3-6 hits. Be sure to save before and after fighting each Lynel in case your weapon break.
Pristine Royal Guard’s Claymore
I didn’t find this until my 3rd playthrough. Picture below are statues where 2-handed pristine weapons spawn. Go there every Blood Moon and eventually you’ll find a pristine one to make fighting Lynels even easier.

Gibdo Bones
Best place to farm is a room inside the Lightning Temple, just strategically set up mirrors. Other good farming locations are the Ancient Altar Ruins and the Gerudo Underground Cemetery. These make great fuse arrows combined with Level 2+ Radiant Armor.
Potions
I didn’t realize this until TOTK (and never tried it in BOTW), but you can actually make 30 min potions from Monster Extracts (instead of using hard-to-grind Dragon Horns). You might have to save scum (save before, make potion, if it’s not what you want, then reload game) to get the 30 mins, but Monster Extracts are only 50 rupees and easier to get than Dragon Horns.
Rocket Shields
Oromuwak Shrine (east of Rito Village). I visit here regularly to stock up on Rocket Shields.
Zonaites and Crytalized Charges

• Save Zonaite for Autobuild only
• Save Large Zonaites for Armor Upgrades only
• Best Way to get Crystalized Charges is defeat all Flux Construct, Hinox, Stone Talus, Frox, and Gleeok in the depths. They will always give you 20 crystalized charges.
• After you beat each regional boss on the surface, 3 of them will respawn in the Depths and give you 100 crystalized charges each after the first kill.
• Floating Colieseum is an excellent place to stack up on strong weapons and get 100 crystalized Charges)
• Plenty of chests in the Depths that have 20 Crystalized Charges
• Every Frox location has a small cluster of Zonaite
• Large Zonaite Deposits are basically ripoffs, you get very little for the effort

• Hudson Signs can be dependent on time or weather or something
• My last 2 were Lodrum Headland and Gerudo Canyon Stable

How to get Stars

• Fast travel to Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower
• Rest until Night.
• Walk up the ramp and launch yourself into the air.
• After being launched, point the camera down and begin diving. A star will eventually fall for you to claim.
• Descent back to the ground at Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower and rest until night again.
• Fast travel to Typhlo Ruins Skyview tower. Launch, look down, catch star. (Or Mayam Shrine above Thyphlo Ruins)
• As soon as you catch start, you can warp right back to Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower. Rest until Night. Rinse and Repeat.

Notes: You can do this with any of the other Skyview Towers below, but you must rest until night in between each star. Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower seems to be the most convenient because there is a cooking pot next to Pikango at the base of the tower.

Red Boss Bokoblin

• Patrolling just south of Talonto Peak in the Hebra region, along the path you travel to find Tulin at the peak during Rito storyline. There are actually two boss bokoblins here, with one on a higher and slightly more eastern shelf and the other slightly lower and westward shelf just above an entrance to Hebra South Summit Cave; the first one is the non-scaling red one, and the second scales. Thought I’d mention it because I and another commenter found the scaling one first.)
• On the skull bridge west of Mount Gustaf (west of Lookout Landing), between the Hyrule Ridge and Hyrule Plains regions.
• Patrolling the Maritta Exchange Ruins north of Lindor’s Brow in the Hyrule Ridge region.

I had both the LeapFrog LeapPad (the original 2000s one, not to be confused with the Leapster) and some other device that functioned similarly. This mystery device I remember had a similar layout to the LeapPad, but it was colored purple and orange. I can especially visualize the purple and orange on the pen. I don't remember seeing a logo on this other device.
This device had a demo book much like the LeapPad, but the only thing I remember from the demo book was a picture of a humpback whale you could touch that was labeled "humpback whale". It would play a humpback whale noise, then a female narrator would say "humpback whale". This is the only thing I am certain of because I remember finding it funny as a kid for some reason.
EDIT: The device I'm thinking of is so similar to the 2000s LeapPad it could probably be considered a knock-off.
EDIT #2: I might be too hung up of the actual color scheme of the device. There could've been multiple color schemes for this device, but I had an orange and purple color scheme. The only thing I'm sure of is the humpback whale.
EDIT #3: Could've very easily just been a misremembered LeapPad book, but from what I could search online I couldn't find anything with the humpback whale.

Hi all this post touches on nature, education, the link with therianthropy as well as my experiences and opinions everything will be marked under a specific subheading so if you want to read about/skip to a specific part they are there for a reason.
Nature and Mental Health
The first topic is the link between seeing/being in/interacting with nature and how it affects mental health through various studies psychologists have found links to positive mental health outcomes from being in or near nature. In some studies, it has been proposed that being in or near nature regularly can lessen mental health side effects even if temporary and can also reduce the need for medication for some mental disorders. It can help you become more grounded and aware of your surroundings which can help dissociation, depression, overthinking and anxiety and help make you feel more stable in day-to-day life relaxing your mind from other things that may be ailing you as a paper on the American psychology association website quotes

In a review of the research, Gregory Bratman, PhD, an assistant professor at the University of Washington, and colleagues shared evidence that contact with nature is associated with increases in happiness, subjective well-being, positive affect, positive social interactions and a sense of meaning and purpose in life, as well as decreases in mental distress (Science Advances, Vol. 5, No. 7, 2019).

As well as improving your mental health it can improve your physical health which hits two birds with one stone as physical and mental health can be closely linked which is not all that surprising as your brain is a physical part of your body. Just like how poor mental health can affect your physicality examples like not being able to get out of bed, restlessness, nausea etc. good physical health can benefit your mental health and vice versa. According to Mind a mental health-led organization in the UK physical activity can

• Help manage stress
• Improve sleep
• Improve your mood
• Improve confidence
• Help you socialize and meet new people
• Help manage symptoms of depression and anxiety
• Improve memory and brain functioning
• Assist Heart, muscle and bone health
• Reduce the risk of developing some long-term health conditions, such as heart disease

Even after that, more benefits are not listed and will be different for each individual if they decide to try and connect more with nature and be around it more. As someone with a physical disability I can also recognize it can be a struggle for people to mobilly get there or even try and build up the motivation to go outside in the first place the nice thing about nature in my opinion is that you can reap positive benefits from just going out there and sitting in it and listening and being aware of your surroundings. If you struggle with either of these issues, you can start by just going outside and sitting down, even if it's just out your front door, into your garden, or even just sitting outside the grocery store. Over time it can get easier if the benefits of being around nature are allowed to take effect and can become a positive experience that you look forward to.
Why is knowing more about our natural world positive?
Knowing more and being in the natural world is positive for many reasons previously aforementioned it can have positive mental health effects. Being more educated can give you a greater understanding for how things work in our world as well as keeping you more mindful of what is around you in our world everyday nature exists even if it's hard to see from the feral pigeons in cities to the most remote places with no human civilization it is there in our day to day lives. It can give you a greater appreciation for your or international environments it leads you to being more aware of your surroundings potentially grounding your thoughts and having a more positive outlook on our world and appreciating all the little things we have that are everywhere.
One of the big all around positive affects around is that you can help the planet and your local ecosystem there are so many small things you can do that can benefit yourself and the world around you which I will list in the last part of this post. Some studies have shown biodiversity can also correlate to longer lasting and better positive effects from being around/in nature. Conservation is so important to keep us and so many amazing organisms here on this planet there are many organisations that you can learn more about conservation and the effects like

• WWF - for international
• RSPB - mainly for UK but also international
• Rainforest Alliance - International

There are also lots of amazing nature documentaries that show you around the world and the many ecosystems that inhabit it how we effect the ecosystem and what you can do. Helping the enviroment doesn't have to include money either it can just be being educated and possibly educating others like not interacting with wildlife or not feeding them (except in specific situations) Another benefit is I have seen therians go into multiple animal related fields and if this is something that interests you these kinds of things would help you tremendously with finding a job within those kinds of fields.
How does this affect therianthropy?
A large portion of therians I interact with have some form of mental health issues not to mention species dysphoria which can worsen mental health as well this affects people's abilities to function in day-to-day life and just like how depression and closed negative environments in animals it can take our natural functions out of us. In captive, stressful or no-enrichment situations animals tend not to act like they would in their natural environment and start expressing potentially self-harmful behaviors that can make it even worse. A good amount of therians I have met feel that way in general human society they feel "trapped" and because of that they have poor quality of life and feel they can't express their true selves. Even though I personally don't experience this myself I have seen the effects this has had on people and it can foster a specific mentality that can spiral into poorer mental health feeling like you can never get out and that you're held captive in human society. Being in nature can help alleviate some of these feelings and can last for after you are in nature and can make you feel more content and less dysphoric.
For some people being in nature brings them closer to their natural environment that they would be in as an animal and helps alleviate dysphoria as humans and as animals, we all originally come from nature no matter where we are in our lives. Not only this but I have found in a lot of instances mental health and therianthropy is thoroughly interlinked and various therians have reported to me that they feel more like themselves or happy in their identity when their mental health gets better and feel more dysphoric when they feel worse and not like themselves. Poor mental health can also affect people's ability to do things they normally do including activities that can bring them closer to their identity as an animal and can make people feel uninterested in things that they normally are or make them not act like themselves. Not to mention being in a more positive headspace just feels you feel better all around but also can improve interactions with other people, especially other nonhumans being able to create a common interest within nature. I personally feel like people focus alot more on the identity, labels and being "valid" than being an animal itself and even then theres a lot of people only caring about surface level stuff.
One thing that I don't think everyone thinks about is with a lot of these things it induces your natural animal behaviour as well for me when I'm bird watching it can feel like stalking to try and not spook them and get a picture , learning to recognise animal calls, tracks, bones etc. helps me identify animals like I would as a wolf. It also for me just kind of empties my head, I'm in the moment I am not thinking about other things that are not happening that second I am just in nature doing things and to me that is a much more animalistic mindset and is a lot more peaceful to be in. Learning more about nature helps you learn more about yourself, how you came to be, what effect you as a human and animal have on the things around you and lots of other things you can learn more about the natural enviroment you would be in as an animal I think alot of people just look in to the animal itself and not the enviroment around it. I am so interested to learn about myself but also the enviroment that wouldve been around me all the organisms that play into my life and how we interact and effect eachother it gives me this greater feeling of being where i belong. For people who are animals that are hunted by anything you can use this for a similar thing with the knowledge about different animals and how to interact with them a good example of this is in a book called Tales Of Wild Bird life by H.M Mortimer chapter Children Of The Mist

Suddenly there sounded 2 soft, frog-ike croak from somewhere up the slope, and instantly the mother flattened, the chicks under her, her neck rigidly outstretched against the ground. A moment ago she had been just a brown mottled bird on the stony earth, but now she ceased to be. She became one of the thousand thousand stones about her, and not even a chameleon could have camouflaged itself so wonderfully. There might have been eyes on earth which could pick her out, but not human eyes, and certainly clumsy human feet would have trodden her under.
when again that warning croak sounded up the slope, followed as before by the strong burr of wings. The mother ptarmigan must have known in some mysterious way what was coming, for this time she acted very differently. She rose as her mate had risen and went burring off, leaving the chicks to take their chances, and as she left them, each minute atom of grousehood crouched and flattened just as she had flattened yesterday. Such desertion seemed callous on the mother's part, but the reason for it became clear when a minute or so later a lean, grey-stockinged mountain fox came trotting down the slope, sifting every gust with his keen nostrils. He paused within ten paces of the ptarmigan chicks, and from the keen alertness of his amber eyes one would have thought that nothing would escape him, yet he saw them not, though had their mother been crouching there he would both have seen and smelt her. So her presence would merely have betrayed her helpless brood. ​ Activities/Things you can do

• An app I have been using alot called "iNaturalist" has been my go to and has been extremley educational and fun, it is an app for posting any indication of prescense of life regarding any organism this can come in the form of eggs, bones, tracks or the organism itself. These observations can also be used for scientific research to learn more about out natural work and help assist studies in knowing what things are where and if they should/shouldn't be or if there should be more or less of it. It also means that if you don't want to you don't have to clutter your phone with photos as you can use it as a gallery for wildlife pictures as well as posting observations you can identify organisms on desktop from others observations. You can set filters like only seeing mammals, or birds or fish or within a certain reigon or area or you can set it to observations of only a certain species/genus you can learn so much from ID'ing organisms when you ID organisms on desktop it gives you suggestions on what the photo could be and also tells shows you how abundent/if it resides in that area usually to help you make a descision. They also have their own information pannels on the website about almost every organism or organism group including a tab for where they live and their abundance showing you a visiual map of their observations, more photos that you can filter by sex and age so you can know if they look different because of sex/age and showing species theyre commonly misidentified as. Other people can also help you identify your observations and works off of a majority rules vote on what the ID is.

• You can make your own or buy native seed mixes to help increase biodiversity in your neighbourhood this is especially good for those who do not have accsess to a garden but you can make this in any country by researching native flowers and spreading them.
  
• Volunteer at a local rescue, wildlife organisation, wildlife charity or other related fields they will teach you so much about the enviroment and how you can help perserve it you can also donate to their charities or participate/organise fundraising events
  
• There are many activites you can download or find online with things to do on nature walks like scrapbooking or flower preservation/drying , walking and looking about and identifying organisms you see can be fun in it's own right too!

• Learn how to increase biodiversity in your garden/living space it can help bring more animals to your living space so you can see them/see them more often after introducing a pond to my garden European common frogs came! (Attatched is my own photos I took!)
  
• Donate to wildlife charities some send you magazines in the post and update you of where your donations go and what they go towards
  
• Growing plants in or outside your home can help you bring the effects of nature closer to you
  
• Watch documenteries like Our Planet or Planet Earth that talk about conservation, animal lives and our world in general and how we interact with it and how it interacts with us
  
• Research on the things you buy and support and how they come into being, a lot of poeple have ethical standpoints on buying specific things but are hugely detatched from where our day to day products come from and how they effect the world. Learning about something like how meat is brought to our tables, how to or how plants are grown and other practices for eating can give you a greater understanding and appreciation for what is around you
  
• Just have fun, go outside and explore just walk and see what you see go to places you haven't gone before and see what you can find more often than not you'll be suprised

When I seen the prompt for this booking, two ideas came to my head. The first was Samoa Joe, who would have went on a complete run of dominance similar to when he arrived in TNA. The man I've went for however is Christopher Daniels, who unlike the other big names in TNA at the time like Jarrett, Joe and Styles, never actually had a full run in the company. This then sparked my interest and as to what would happen if he did decide to jump over to the WWE in the Ruthless Aggression era.
To begin this booking, Daniels needs to be taken out of TNA somehow, and I've decided that his last appearance would take place at Destination X where he'd originally have won the X-Division title in a Fatal-4 way match and would be the start of his, at the time, longest X-Division title reign. Instead, Daniels would go on to lose in this match and news would soon break that his contract has expired with TNA as he looks for a new place to call home. Dirt sheets claim that Daniels looks for a return to Japan but this all changes once vignettes begin airing on WWE television after Wrestlemania, taunting the arrival of a "fallen angel" to WWE, which to casual fans means nothing, but to a certain percentage of wrestling fans, they know where Daniels is headed next.
Daniels makes his debut at Backlash, appearing at the top of the ramp following the opener between Shelton Benjamin and Chris Jericho for the IC title. Benjamin tells Daniels to get in the ring and come face to face with him but he opts to just stand at the entranceway, appearing to have his eyes fixated on Benjamin and not the title sitting on his shoulder, making the Fallen Angel's intentions unclear on his arrival in the company.
Daniels opens the RAW after Backlash, feeling glad to finally be at the promised land of wrestling, a place where he can be his best while wrestling the best. His promo is cut off though as the man he confronted the night prior, Shelton Benjamin, comes to the ring and ask Daniels why out of every man on the roster and every match on the show, he decided to come out after his match. Daniels is able to give Benjamin a real good answer, telling him that when he watches him wrestling, he sees something unique. A talent like no other. A talent that should be sitting where his OVW classmates, John Cena and Batista are sitting at right now. But no, Benjamin's not doing that at all, and the reason? He's lost. Benjamin looks at Daniels like he's a crazed man, telling him he's not lost at all and that's evident through the fact he's been holding the IC Championship for the past 200+ days. Daniels admires that he's been champion for so long, but what happens once he loses the belt? Daniels just wishes to give Benjamin some guidance, lead him onto bigger and better things in the company. Benjamin calls Daniels insane, instantly rejecting his offer and telling him he's gonna prove he's not lost in the Gold Rush Tournament, starting his run tonight with the first match against Shawn Michaels.
Daniels appearing near the end of this match, where it actually appears like Benjamin is going to pull off the upset but a Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere quickly fades his dreams to dust as Daniels enters the ring, approaching Benjamin in the corner with a mic and offering his hand out to him, telling him he can guide him in the right direction. Benjamin isn't wanting to hear any of it though and slaps his hand away before rolling out of the ring and walking up the ramp with shame on his face.
Daniels' debut match would come on the next episode of RAW, facing Val Venis and beating him in just over two minutes with the Angel's Wings. Daniels grabs a mic following this win and in a similar manner to last week, approaches Venis with his hand out who actually accepts it and makes it back to his feet. Daniels speaks, telling Venis that when he looks at him, he sees a sad, pathetic man who has no direction in his career. Daniels is fine with this though, and tells him that he is here to guide him to superstardom. Venis tells Daniels he's grateful for the offer, but declines it. Daniels looks at him with disgust on his face as he begins pummeling Venis, driving him into the corner and stomping down on him but Benjamin rushes to the ring as he comes to blows with Daniels for the first time, driving him out of the ring and raising the title up, essentially telling Daniels he has the belt and he can't have it.
Daniels and Benjamin come face to face once again on the next RAW, with Benjamin genuinely wanting to know what Daniels deal is. Why is he asking people to join him when he knows nothing about how to climb the ranks in WWE? Daniels says he might not know as much about WWE as most on the roster, but what he does know is how to lead. Take a good guy and make him a great guy. Take a great guy and make him a star. Benjamin isn't convinced, but tells him that if he wants to put his money where his mouth is then next week he should appear at ringside alongside Benjamin in his IC title match against Christian. Daniels and Benjamin shake on it, but the tension is clearly felt between the two men.
Benjamin and Christian have their match on RAW and as promised, Daniels is at ringside trying to guide Benjamin to a win. Things look rough for Benjamin in this bout, almost looking to feel pressure with Daniels at ringside. The win looks to be set for Christian, looking to hit the Killswitch but in a last gasp effort, Benjamin manages to push both himself and Christian through the ropes and out of the ring. Daniels goes over to check on Benjamin as Christian pushes him away, wanting to win the IC title desperately. He rolls Benjamin in the ring as the ref checks on him, giving Daniels the perfect opportunity to HIT A LOW BLOW ON CHRISTIAN!! He rolls him in the ring as he shouts at Benjamin to get the cover, who does so and retains his title in the process.
Benjamin thanks Daniels for the win on the next edition of RAW, but Christian has a bone to pick with the two of them, demanding he gets a rematch after Daniels' low blow cost him the match. Benjamin is confused, asking Daniels about it but he flat out denies it. Christian is able to show proof though as Benjamin comes face to face with Daniels, but Christian isn't going out that easy, telling both men that he wants them in the ring tonight. Benjamin doesn't seem so willing to be defending his title two weeks in a row, but Daniels is up for the fight, telling Christian that if he wins, he can get his match against the both of them next week for the IC belt. Benjamin doesn't like Daniels calling the shots but he reassures him it's gonna be alright.
RAW, 6th June 2005:

• Christopher Daniels vs Christian (If Christian wins, he faces Daniels and Benjamin next week for the Intercontinental Championship)

The first big match for Daniels here as he looks to silence Benjamin's competition and keep his protégé running strong. They go at it in the opener of the show for 11 minutes, with Daniels getting to show off his abilities in the ring unlike his debut match with Venis. Christian wrestles like a man on a mission though, wanting to add another IC title reign to his record and by the end of the match, he looks to be getting one step closer to that as he sends Daniels face first into the canvas with the Killswitch and pins him for the 3 count, getting his title match next week.

We jump to the night of the triple threat match as Benjamin and Daniels confront each other backstage, with Benjamin clearly furious that Daniels couldn't get the job done last week. Daniels gives Benjamin some reassurance however, telling him that this is all part of the plan and with him making it a triple threat, there's no way things could go wrong. Benjamin wouldn't have it any other way as he walks away from Daniels, barging into him as the Fallen Angel lets out a grin before getting the last preps in for the match.
RAW, 13th June 2005:

• Christopher Daniels vs Shelton Benjamin (c) vs Christian for the Intercontinental Championship

We make it to the match and all three men are standing in the ring, with Daniels focusing on Christian whilst the other two competitors have their eyes on both opponents. The bell rings as they begin circling the ring, with Christian jumping out of the ring and telling Benjamin and Daniels to go at it. Benjamin looks ready to fight but Daniels rolls out of the ring, chasing after Christian who rolls in the ring and gets taken out by Benjamin. Daniels essentially watches on the outside, almost acting as a manager in the match despite being an official competitor, only getting involved when Christian finds himself on the upper hand.
Things would change however once Benjamin confronts him on the outside, pushing him repeatedly before launching a right hook which causes Daniels to snap, driving Benjamin into the barricade and the steel steps. The shackles appear to be off the Fallen Angel now as he takes the fight to both men for the rest of the bout, but his focus still doesn't appear to be on the Intercontinental Championship as he never seems to capitalize on his biggest opportunities. However, he does end up breaking up Christian's pin on Benjamin following a Killswitch, leaving everyone confused as to what his motives are in this match. The match would come to a head after 14 minutes, with Benjamin hitting Christian with a T-Bone Suplex BUT DANIELS THROWS HIM OUT OF THE RING AND GOES FOR THE COVER..1..2..3!! DANIELS HAS STOLEN THE IC TITLE FROM BENJAMIN!! HE HAS PLAYED HIM LIKE A FIDDLE!!

A mighty impressive feat for Daniels despite only being in the company for just over a month, and one he feels the need to celebrate as he opens the next edition of RAW to a thunderous reign of boos. Daniels acknowledges the boos, and tells the Phoenix crowd that he did it. He exposed Shelton Benjamin as the fraud he truly is. Without his belt he's now nothing and once he comes out to the ring which he knows he will, he'll prove him right even more. Right on cue, Benjamin makes his arrival to the ring, clearly pissed off at Daniels for what happened the last week. He begins by telling Daniels he can't believe he fell for his stupid trick to gain the belt, but once the rematch rolls around he'll put it right back where it belongs. Daniels just begins laughing, with Benjamin asking what's funny. Daniels ends up calling Benjamin predictable, knowing that once he came to the ring the first thing he'd mention was his belt. He tells Benjamin that he never wanted the belt in the first place, he wanted to prove a point. That point being that Shelton Benjamin is nothing without something to cling onto. First it was being Kurt Angle's lackey. Then it was tagging with Haas as the "World's Greatest Tag Team". And now its the Intercontinental Championship. Essentially Daniels is telling Benjamin he can't be someone without clinging on to something else. He can't put himself first, there is always something that makes him relevant and now without the belt he's irrelevant. Benjamin is done with the talking, lunging at Daniels and displaying an aggression never seen before from him as he plants him with a T-Bone Suplex and tells him he'll see him in the ring on Saturday at Vengeance.
Vengeance 2005:

• Christopher Daniels (c) vs Shelton Benjamin for the Intercontinental Championship

Benjamin jumps Daniels in the corner right from the get-go, clearly showing his intentions of getting his title back. Daniels reverses the pressure onto Benjamin though, bringing him down to the mat and essentially toying with him, using his newfound aggression against him as he tries slowing the pace of the match down to a level he'll enjoy. It's a back and forth tussle in the opening minutes of the contest, with neither man really showing signs of dominance as they slip back and forth into reversals and agile moves that really impress the crowd. The match progresses on and it continues to look even throughout, although the intensity has increased significantly, with both men desperately trying to outmaneuver the other in an attempt to win the match.
They both attempt to put the match away on multiple occasions, with Benjamin coming closest following a Superkick for a 2 count. Daniels can't get close to hitting the Angel's Wings however, with Benjamin evading every time and even reversing it INTO A T-BONE SUPLEX!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! BENJAMIN WAS MILLISECONDS AWAY FROM TAKING HIS TITLE BACK!! Benjamin looks bewildered at this point, wondering what the hell he could do to keep Daniels down for the 3 count. He takes a second to himself but suddenly Daniels theme song plays. Benjamin looks up the apron in confusion as a cloaked figure begins walking down the ramp before standing on the apron, with the ref trying to get him away from ringside. Benjamin's focus shifts for a second, with this being just enough to cost him the title as ANOTHER CLOAKED FIGURE SMASHES THE IC TITLE OVER HIS HEAD!! Daniels crawls over to the cover as the cloaked figures run away, with the ref counting..1..2..3!! DANIELS RETAINS THE TITLE BUT THE BIGGER QUESTION IS WHO ARE THE MEN WHO HELPED HIM WIN?!!

Daniels rolls out of the ring as the cloaked figures stand at either side of him, revealing themselves to be ELIX SKIPPER AND LOW KI!! TRIPLE X IS REUNITED HERE IN WWE!!
Triple X open the RAW after Vengeance, with a lot of mystery surrounding what the hell happened in the IC Title match. Daniels first of all gives gratitude to Skipper and Low Ki for their assistance at the event, and understands the fans are confused. Why did they help him retain the title? Daniels says his aim when he arrived in WWE was to guide a lost wrestler into becoming a star. Clearly he didn't realise the toxic atmosphere he was entering, with no-one accepting his calling. Luckily for him though, he had some friends on the outside who wanted in and were willing to leave everything behind to become the top guys in WWE. The first step in this path to glory is rebirth, and for Daniels he has decided to rechristen them as The Fallen Angels. He orders the fans to stand and cheer for the new stars of WWE but they get booed heavily instead. The crowd's reaction quickly changes though once BENJAMIN MAKES HIS ENTRANCE WITH A HEAVY LOOK ON HIS FACE!! He rushes the ring and begins taking on all three men, but quickly gets mauled down as the Fallen Angels make a statement on to the entire roster that they aren't to be messed with.
The Fallen Angels are then seen backstage the next week, interrupting Bischoff and Benjamin discussing a fair rematch for the IC Title. Daniels tries to dispute that the contest was fair but even a blind man could've seen what happened, with Bischoff deciding to book Benjamin and Daniels next week in a title rematch, and to ensure no outside interference, it'll take place inside of a steel cage. Daniels storms off as Benjamin is left with a big grin on his face, but will Daniels be able to wipe that off his face next week and keep the belt away from Benjamin?
RAW, 4th July 2005:

• Christopher Daniels (c) vs Shelton Benjamin II in a Steel Cage match for the Intercontinental Championship

If there's a time and place for Benjamin to win the title, it's here. A patriotic Sacramento crowd rally Benjamin on, who dawns the red, white and blue for Independence Day. Daniels however isn't feeling the festivities, opting to wear only black as he enters the USA themed steel cage, making sure the title stays a fair distance away from Benjamin. The bell sounds and they waste no time getting into this contest, throwing shots at one another before Benjamin takes the upper hand and begins throwing Daniels from one side of the cage to the other. He continues mounting pressure, not letting Daniels get an inch as our champ is clearly in trouble.
He uses his heel tactics to get through this bad spell though, throwing the occasional poke to the eye or even tying Benjamin up in the ropes to stop him from attacking. They would both have their big moments in this match, kicking out of each other's finishers and stopping each other from climbing out of the cage. The match would culminate with Benjamin and Daniels duking it out in the middle of the ring, showing heavy fatigue from the brutal 17 minute encounter. Daniels almost appears to get the advantage with a big rolling elbow BUT BENJAMIN DELIVERS A SUPERKICK OUT OF NOWHERE!! Daniels falls to the mat as Benjamin sees this as his opportunity to escape the cage, wanting to win the title in the most satisfying way possible. He makes it to the top of the cage, but Daniels is surprisingly willing himself up to his feet. Benjamin notices this and realises Daniels could still make it out the other side so he JUMPS OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE BUT NOONE'S HOME!! Daniels managed to back up in time as Benjamin crashes and burns, with Daniels deciding to add the final touches with AN ANGEL'S WINGS!! 1..2..3!! DANIELS RETAINS THE BELT INSIDE THE STEEL CAGE!!

Now with Benjamin in the rear view mirror, The Fallen Angels appear on the next RAW, with Daniels laughing at the fans who believed he wouldn't be able to retain in the Steel Cage. He admits that he did take the title off Benjamin to try make him into a better man, but now with the belt on his shoulder the past few weeks he's taken a liking to it and has decided he wants to keep it. Permanently. That's not the biggest topic of discussion though, as he promised Low Ki and Skipper that when they arrived in WWE, he'd turn them into stars. And with the IC belt on his shoulder, he's decided the best way for them to become stars is to get championships of their own. This leads to Daniels calling out The Hurricane and Rosey, telling them to get to the ring and defend their belts right now against the Fallen Angels. They don't get the answer they want, with the Heart Throbs coming out and claiming they should be the No.1 contenders to the belt, and not these ugly new guys. Lance Cade and his new tag partner Trevor Murdoch are out next, wanting to make a big impact and taking the titles off the champs right off the bat. The teams begin bickering, which eventually turns into fighting after Low Ki unleashes a deadly kick to Antonio, with everyone else fighting it out after as Daniels exits the ring and watches the carnage from the outside...
...or so he thought as BENJAMIN ATTACKS HIM FROM THE CROWD!! HE STILL ISN'T DONE WITH DANIELS AS THEY BEGIN BRAWLING AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING!! The tag teams eventually spill to the outside as Daniels and Benjamin take centre stage, continuing on from their match last week as security and Bischoff are forced to come out to stop the brawl. Bischoff looks around the ring and notices a load of people brawling, which gives him the idea. Benjamin clearly wants another shot at the belt, and Daniels wants him away from the belt full stop. So, next week, Daniels will defend his title against Benjamin once again IN A LUMBERJACK MATCH!! Daniels looks disappointed in this decision, but this look quickly changes once Bischoff announces that if Benjamin loses next week, he can't challenge for the IC title as long as Daniels is champion. Benjamin has a look of dread on his face as Daniels tries softening him up for next week but Benjamin manages to avoid and drives him down to the mat with a T-Bone Suplex before locking eyes with the IC title, knowing he has one last chance to take the belt back home.
RAW, 18th July 2005:

• Christopher Daniels (c) vs Shelton Benjamin III in a Lumberjack Match for the Intercontinental Championship (If Benjamin loses he can't challenge for the IC title as long as Daniels is champion)

Three seconds. That's all it's gonna take for Benjamin to either get his prized possession back, or lose and have no direction for his career. Daniels walks into this match with a heavy smug on his face, clearly feeling confident about his ability to beat Benjamin for a third time. Benjamin has determination on his face, but clearly masking the pressure on him to actually come out with the win in this match. Most of the RAW roster arrive next to take their spot at ringside as the match gets underway, with the two men locking up in the centre of the ring. Their athleticism shows in the early moments of the bout as they try wearing each other down early with holds and light strikes to pace themselves, but Benjamin decides to take it to a pace of his own liking, something which would eventually cost him control of the match as he'd get dumped to the outside and beaten by the Fallen Angels until they get driven away by Cade and Murdoch, allowing Benjamin to get back in the ring and continue to fight against the odds.
He would manage to turn the match on its head, taking control of the match and showing signs of promise as Daniels' cockiness quickly fades, with Benjamin outwilling him and showing a greater determination to win the bout. Daniels would end up having his fair share of run ins on the outside as well, but uses the Fallen Angels to protect him which leads to all hell breaking loose as the tag champs get caught in the crossfire when the Heart Throbs and the Fallen Angels are brawling, leading to almost everyone fighting on the outside. Daniels gets away from this chaos and enters the ring where HE GETS HIT WITH A T-BONE SUPLEX!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! Benjamin punches the mat in anger, wondering what on earth he can do to come away with this win. He takes a minute to think, but amidst the chaos a steel chair is thrown into the ring, with no signs of who did it. Clearly taking this as a sign from God himself that he should use it, he picks it up and looks set to use it, but can't seem to bring himself to do so, not wanting to win the title in a shady manner. Daniels capitalizes on this softness, hitting Benjamin with a low blow before PLANTING HIM ONTO THE STEEL CHAIR WITH ANGEL'S WINGS!! 1..2..3!! CHRISTOPHER DANIELS REMAINS IC CHAMPION!! BENJAMIN'S DREAMS HAVE FADED TO DUST!!

Daniels is in a celebratory mood here tonight, but there is still some business to attend to, with The Fallen Angels being placed in a Fatal-4 Way match for The Hurricane and Rosey's tag belts. He cuts a promo before the match, telling the WWE universe that he's feeling confident in his protégé's abilities to take home the belts. He then shifts his focus to his own state of affairs, stating that now he's planning on keeping this IC championship, he needs challengers for it. However, when he looks at RAW and their roster, he doesn't see much talent. Despite this, he has been told by Bischoff that tonight there will be a No.1 contenders Battle Royal main eventing tonight to decide the next challenger to the belt. Daniels welcomes the challenge, knowing he can beat anyone in that locker room.
The tag team title match takes place first in the show, with The Fallen Angels, The Heart Throbs, Cade and Murdoch and Hurricane and Rosey all fighting for the tag belts. They stand out as the most technical wrestlers in the match, standing head and shoulders above the whole competition. Fate would not be on their side though, with Hurricane stealing the pin from Skipper in the dying moments of the bout.
As for the battle royal, it's every man for themselves as they all gear towards a shot at the prestigious Intercontinental Championship. A few names stand out in the match, including Kurt Angle, Carlito and Edge, but the match would surprisingly be won by Matt Striker, who pulled off the upset by eliminating Angle last. Daniels is impressed by this and enters the ring to congratulate Striker, but it quickly turns sour as Daniels hits him with the Last Rites, leaving him lying in the center of the ring as he walks up the entranceway with confidence oozing out of him.
RAW, August 1st 2005:

• Christopher Daniels (c) vs Matt Striker for the Intercontinental Championship

Daniels comes into the match cocky as ever, knowing a jobber like Striker won't do anything against him. He even offers Striker a free hit before laying a beatdown on him, telling him he's nothing and he never will be. Daniels decides that he wants to end this match quickly, attempting the Angel's Wings BUT STRIKER HITS THE GOLDEN RULE OUT OF NOWHERE!! Daniels manages to roll out of the ring before Striker can get to the pin. He goes on to the outside, putting his heart and soul into trying to beat Daniels, utilizing everything on the outside he can before bringing him into the ring before the 10 count. This would be the end of Striker's momentum though, with Daniels becoming more vicious than before, essentially toying with Striker before pulling out a BME to finish the match and retain his belt.
Result: Christopher Daniels (c) def. Matt Striker by pinfall to retain the Intercontinental Championship (4:31)
Daniels wouldn't stop after the match, bringing the Fallen Angels down as they initiate a 3v1 assault on Striker, using weapons to try and put him out of action permanently. The Hurricane and Rosey rush to make the save but at that point Striker's ankle was already shattered by a steel chair, with The Fallen Angels instead taking the tag champs out and holding all 3 belts in the air, showing what the future could potentially hold for the trio.
Next week, the Fallen Angels are out in the ring and clearly have a lot on their mind. They address the attack on Striker, labelling it necessary to show him he should stay away from trying to put himself in scenarios he doesn't belong. He then moves on to the tag champs, calling them out and telling them that his men will be getting a rematch after the shenanigan's involved last time. Bischoff comes out and announces that the Fallen Angels would be facing Hurricane, Rosey and a mystery partner. Daniels is not having this, telling him he wants the tag title match tonight, not a 6-man tag. Bischoff says he's saving the rematch for a later date which visibly makes Daniels angry. He asks Bischoff who the mystery partner is, but Bischoff won't tell him anything.
RAW, August 8th 2005:

• The Fallen Angels (Christopher Daniels, Low Ki and Elix Skipper) vs The Hurricane, Rosey and ???

The Fallen Angels wait to see who they have to face as the tag champs arrive first. They enter the ring with massive grins on their face as the Fallen Angels just want to know who they're facing. Everyone waits in anticipation as ROB VAN DAM IS THE MYSTERY PARTNER!! HE'S NOT MEANT TO BE BACK FOR MONTHS!! RVD rushes to the ring as the 6 men begin going at it, with the fans all chanting for RVD as this appears to be a genuine surprise for them all. Daniels and RVD take center stage in this match, putting on a show when they're both in the ring which leaves the fans wanting more as RVD would eventually pick up the win in this bout, hitting Skipper with the Five Star Frog Splash to win his return match.
Result: The Hurricane, Rosey and Rob Van Dam def. The Fallen Angels by pinfall (10:42)
Daniels is seen in Bischoff's office next week, complaining that they were disadvantaged because they didn't know about RVD's return. RVD interrupts, telling Daniels that he shouldn't just be worried about losing the 6-man tag last week because now he's back, he's coming for gold and he wants that IC title. They get in each other's faces, with Bischoff holding them back and telling them if they want to fight, they can do it tonight. Daniels agrees to it, but only if he doesn't have to defend his title. RVD is fine with this, not wanting to take things for granted immediately and says that once he beats Daniels in the center of the ring, he'll take his IC title match.
RAW, August 15th 2005:

• Christopher Daniels vs Rob Van Dam in a non-title match (If RVD wins, he gets an IC Championship match)

These two continue to steal the show as they both continue what they started last week. The match is fast paced and stacked with plenty of action which makes the fans only want more. We get a 12 minute match here as they are given enough time to put on a show, with multiple near falls and high risk maneuvers throughout the contest. In the end however, Daniels would spike RVD on the mat out of nowhere with a Brainbuster before dragging him to the corner and going for the BME...BUT RVD ROLLS OUT OF HARMS WAY!! They both make it to their feet as RVD HITS THE VAN DAMINATOR!! He climbs to the top rope as the roof has blown off the arena, with RVD HITTING A 5 STAR FROG SPLASH!! 1..2..3!! Things may be looking down for Daniels, who now has to defend his title at Summerslam, but it's not all bad for the Fallen Angels, with Low Ki and Skipper having a confrontation with the tag champs, Hurricane and Rosey. They state their claim for the belts, wanting a rematch against them at Summerslam, which the champs are happy to accept before a brawl begins between the two teams, with Low Ki and Skipper standing out on top over the tag champs.
Summerslam 2005:

• Christopher Daniels (c) vs Rob Van Dam II for the Intercontinental Championship

Daniels is way more focused in this bout than on Monday, knowing there is a legitimate threat to his title reign. He takes control in the beginning of the bout as they perform a sequence of grapples before the fight is quickly taken to the outside with both men falling through the ropes. The pace picks up here, with RVD managing to one up Daniels by performing a unique crossbody off the apron. He tosses him in the ring following this and goes for a quick cover which only gets a 1 count. RVD mounts the pressure onto Daniels, although displays some signs of cockiness over the champ. This would cost him a tremendous amount of momentum as Daniels is persistent on wanting to retain his belt, upping the ante as the match becomes very level headed.
Entering the second half of the match and it's still not clear who's going to win this bout. Although Daniels shows a greater drive to win the bout, RVD comes closest to winning the bout, almost gaining a 3 count after hitting a Rolling Thunder. Daniels won't go down without a fight though, and becomes more ruthless with his attacks, even going deep into his arsenal to unleash a Koji Clutch to try and make RVD tap. He breaks out of it though, and drops Daniels with a Van Daminator. The crowd rally him on as he climbs up the ropes, doing his signature taunt before HITTING THE FIVE STAR FROG SPLA...DANIELS WITH THE KNEES UP!! RVD bounces right off his knees, rolling around the ring clutching his stomach as Daniels gets up to his feet and DROPS RVD WITH THE ANGEL'S WINGS!! 1..2..3!! DANIELS RETAINS HIS BELT IN A GREAT CONTEST!!

Later on in the show, we see Low Ki and Skipper taking on Hurricane and Rosey for the belts. Daniels joins them at ringside as they appear to dominate, but all of a sudden something snaps in the champs and they take control of the match, completely flipping the match on its head and almost winning the match on numerous occasions. Daniels is forced to get involved in the match, but is eventually driven out as RVD rushes to the ring, brawling with his opponent earlier in the night and driving him into the crowd as the fight takes them away from the ring. With Daniels gone, you'd think The Fallen Angels would crumble, but they actually manage to comeback and in a massive moment, take the titles from Hurricane and Rosey, with Low Ki hitting the Ghetto Stomp on Hurricane for the win. Daniels rejoins them, grabbing his belt as the three men pose at the top of the ramp, all holding gold as part 1 comes to an end.

A Sailor Moon inspired legacy challenge for the Sims 4
I have always enjoyed playing Legacy Challenges and wanted to one day attempt to make my own. While I am certain there are Sailor Moon Legacy challenges out there, I couldn't find one that suited my fancy, so I decided to create my own updated version. I'm also trying to utilize as many packs/occults/gameplay that I don't usually use. I am currently on gen 8 of my not-so-berry challenge, so I'll probably tackle playtesting this once I get close to finishing that one. But if anyone has feedback beforehand or knows if something doesn't work or just feels that the character inspiration doesn't really fit the generational goals, I would love the input.
Basic Rules:

1. Money cheats can be used, but I wouldn't recommend using it extensively since that's half the fun. But who am I to tell you how you'd like to play
2. Mods and CC are okay to use. Feel free to make the heirs look as similar or as different than their counterpart.
3. You may live wherever you please unless something is specified in the rules of a generation.
4. All heirs must have a human lifespan unless otherwise stated. Heirs can be either male or female. Just because you're a Pretty Guardian, doesn't mean you have to be a girl. c:
5. You may have as many children and you'd like unless otherwise stated. Marriage and Live-in Partners are optional, unless otherwise stated in the challenge.
6. Every generation is supposed to complete both the career and aspiration of the heir unless explicitly stated otherwise.
7. Would recommend keeping the lifespan on normal, but you may play on whatever lifespan or custom lifespan if you so desire.
8. Feel free to accept any additional self discoveries, just don't switch personalities unless otherwise stated.
9. Please take advantage of the Reward traits and potions to help you through each generation
10. Have fun. I personally like challenges, so I'm adding some additional requirements for each generation for a challenge mode. Feel free to adjust the rules to suit your own playstyle better and complete as much or as little of the generation as you please.

You are the Keeper of Time and this legacy. The timeline has shifted, and the Moon Kingdom is in danger. You and your companion have been allowed to leave your post in order to correct it. This world is different that what you are familiar with. It isn't the Moon Kingdom, nor is it Tokyo. But you do learn there is a place that teaches you the things you need to know, and you find yourself enrolled in school. You must compile this knowledge to develop a new Door of Space and Time to guard for all of eternity from this new world. But not everything is doom and gloom. When you're not trying to fix the world, you find yourself relaxing by playing chess and making things to wear.

Optional: Start off or Become a Vampire, the goal is to eventually become immortal (You may also cheat this if you prefer to remain human) Optional: Have a feline companion who also gains immortality (with the power of many, many age down treats) and lives with each generation to provide them with the wisdom and knowledge. The voices in your head make it hard to be alone, so you spend most of your time reading. When you finally meet someone new, you become close friends. But one day when you have a maniac episode where you completely black out, you ruin the only friendship you had. And to save your friend and anyone else from your unstable personality, you become a shut-in with just you and your books. You dream of traveling, but never trust yourself to leave. So you travel through books and fantasy, writing about the adventures you'll never take.

And since there's no cars in this world, you want learn how to ride. Your guardian begrudgingly allows you to have a horse, but only because they thought it was one of those "I wanna a pony" stages. Turns out, you're pretty decent of a rider, so much so that you can build a living off of it. As soon as you're old enough, you move out of your parent's home and set off on your own adventure. With your career, you have the flexibility to work when you want and travel the rest of the time. While you enjoy riding horses, you're not really about the farm/ranch life. You gain a little fame from work and your adventuring, so you find yourself having to disguise yourself when going out, but it doesn't slow your adventures in the slightest.

You manage but not without a little help.

So, I've been looking over the calendar in the Adventurer's Bible (it's at the end of Part 2: Monsters), and it got me thinking.
First and foremost, it's important to bring up the fact that day and night do not exist in the dungeon. There's no way to actually tell time, and therefore no way to really know how the times that the party are awake or asleep line up with an actual calendar. Therefore, the Adventurer's Bible should provide us with the clear definitive timing of events...
... but it does not. My main reason for saying this is the "Reach Dungeon ?F" markers on the dates, and I'll explain why. First, it's best to establish the format: They appear at the bottom of each date they appear on, so we must decipher if they're unordered (ie. Arrived on this date), ordered at end of day (i.e. arrived after all other events of that date) or ordered at start of next day (i.e. arrived first thing next day).
Now, let's establish what each floor is first (no actual names given, I have made them up for convenience):
Floor 1 is the Melini Crypt, which the dungeon has encroached into, given an explicit description in Episode 1 / Chapter 1.
Floor 2 is the Spire Forest, where massive trees and rope bridges form a path connecting the spires of the Golden Castle, given an explicit description in Episode 1 / Chapter 2.
Floor 3 is the Golden Castle, a series of haunted corridors and chambers, given an explicit description in Episode 4 / Chapter 8.
Floor 4 is the Glowing Lake, a result of subterranean streams flooding the castle ramparts, given an explicit description in Episode 7 / Chapter 14.
Floor 5 is the Castle Town, somehow magically seperated from the lake above it despite being visible beneath the water, given an explicit description in Episode 10 / Chapter 23.
Floor 6 is the Dwarven Water Ways, a series of canals and grates beneath the Castle Town, given an explicitly description in Episode 18 / Chapter 39.
This is where we run into a problem, because as far as I'm aware, we then stop receiving descriptions of the rest of the floors, but the Adventurer's Bible DOES explicitly have "Reach Dungeon 7F" and "Reach Dungeon 8F". We'll return to this later.
Returning to the Bible, the first we see is "Reach Dungeon 2F" on 3/16 after "Their first monster meal" (Scorpion Hot Pot) and before 3/17's "Encounter Doni and Fionil", which are the events of Chapter 1 and 3 respectively. Normally, this would leave Chapter 2's date as a coin flip, but Floor 2 is unique in that it actually DOES reflect day and night because it has holes in the ceiling. As such, we know in Chapter 2 that they walk around and gather the fruits during the day, and then go to sleep at the end of the chapter during the night. As such, we can say Chapter 2 took place on 3/16, and therefore the "Reach Dungeon" signs are likely stating "Reached that floor at some point on this date).
Floor 3 introduces a little (solvable) confusion, being stated on 3/18, between "Laios gets Kensuke" and 3/19's "Harvest fresh vegetables", being chapters 7 and 8 respectively. This could be seen as an error, as Chapter 8 is when we get the Floor 3 description, but we don't actually see them go to sleep at the end of 7, so we could interpret this as they arrived in Floor 3 off-camera, went to sleep, and then we start back up in Chapter 8 the next day. Alternatively, we could say that since the Living Armor encounter takes place within the castle interior, that that's the entrance to Floor 3 itself, and therefore that IS when they arrived, we just get a late description one chapter later.
Now here's where the genuine problems begin, the one that prompted me making this post. "Reach Dungeon 4F" is is placed on 3/19, between "Tense situation in orc village" and 3/20's "Encounter Kabru's annihilated party", being chapters 9 and 10 respectively. While this does mark the change from the general corridors of the golem chapter to the grand staircase of the treasure insects chapter, the problem is that the Floor 4 description is given in Chapter 14, explicitly stating it to be the Lake. The label is an entire day earlier than it should be, if not two. There's no real way to fiddle with time-of-day to make this one work.
Floor 5 is much simpler: We see them arrive at the end of 21, and receive it's description in 23. "Reach Dungeon 5F" is put on the same date as "Create frog suits", 3/23. Everything checks out, though the fact that they slay the dragon the next day on 3/24 does make me wonder if they went to sleep off-camera (maybe when they got the frog suits off?), or if the time of day is now so screwy being underground that there was no sleep between frog suits and dragon fight despite the day rolling over.
Floor 6 has a similar bit of confusion, stating we arrived on 4/3, the same day as the Falin Chimera encounter (Chapter 38) despite us getting the description the next day before the Shapeshifter encounter (Chapter 39). The framing of the scene seems to explicitly consider the transition from Floor 5 to Floor 6 be walking down that staircase into the windy canal at the start of 39, so I think this may not be totally correct (unless the date rolled over during the blizzard).
Now we arrive at the next issue: Defining Floor 7 and Floor 8. It always seemed to me that Floor 7 was the Dwarven Ruins we arrive at in Chapter 53, past the cable car from Chapter 52, while Floor 8 was Thistle's Cabin we arrive at in Chapter 63.
The Adventurer Bible instead states "Reach Dungeon 7F" on 4/7, the day of the Griffin fight, seemingly implying that Floor 7 starts at the cistern we drop into out of the Golden Country. I can't exactly prove otherwise, but the previous Floor 4 error makes me think that this too is incorrect, seeing as how we're still in a frozen section of the water-way. If anything, the earliest possible transition to Floor 7 I could see would be going through the locked door in Chapter 50. That WOULD be the next day, 4/8, but we established earlier that the labels are meant to show on the day-of, so this would also be an error to have it on 4/7.
Floor 8 is more simple, placed on 4/10 between "Laios meets winged lion in dream" and 4/11's "Reach Thistle's house". Implication being that they arrive in the Floor 8 grove on 4/10, set up camp, then proceed to find the cabin further in on 4/11.
So, what was the point of all this long rambling about dates and events?
Well, really it was just for me to show that I think the Adventurer's Bible timeline is actually not a perfectly reliable source. The manga in general kinda has some goofiness to the timeline, like Chapters 52 and 55 cutting between Laios and Kabru's group as though the events being shown are happening concurrently, despite them actually being 5 days apart.
Point is, shit's weird, it bugged me, and I wanted to ramble about it

Lisa squinted as the summer sun filled her eyes, closing her car door with a dull thud. At John’s invitation, she had come to check on the orphanage he had recently started(“Took a while, but it’s complete! Drop by anytime!”). He had mentioned the windows being coated with colorful plastic shapes and drawings that the children pasted on themselves. It must be pretty lively in there, she mused.
Yawning, she pinpointed its location immediately- its cheerful yellow walls stuck out like a sore thumb against the landscape, vividly contrasting the dreary gray of the neighborhood.
Lisa drew closer and knocked on the door thrice. There was the sound of children sprinting and shouting, followed by the door opening the tiniest bit and allowing her to view a sliver of the young face that answered. She frowned slightly, then plastered on a smile and squatted to meet the child’s eyes. “Hey there, do you know where John might be?”
The boy then gave her a suspicious look and clutched at his cross necklace. “Mommy said we shouldn’t open the door for strangers.” He paused. “Why are you looking for him?”
“My name’s Lisa,” She said, stifling a laugh. “Did, uh- Mommy ever mention me? He invited me here.”
His expression brightened at her name, but the door didn’t budge an inch as he continued to inspect her face. “...How do I know you’re the REAL Lisa?” The boy said, shooting her an accusing glare.
Before she could think of an answer, she heard another heavier pair of footsteps approaching, and the door suddenly opened wider to reveal a wrinkled face she recognized. “Father Garcia?” Lisa straightened up and shook his hand, noticing he was wearing a flowery pink apron. It clashes horribly with his outfit. “It’s good to see you! What are you doing here? Did John call you here as well?”
“Buenos dias, hija,” Father Garcia greeted her, ruffling the boy’s hair. “You can go back in now, hijo.” He said.
“Can I have a sweet?” The boy asked.
“You already had a lot today, no?” When he wilted, the older man chuckled. “Perhaps tomorrow, hijo.”
The boy ran back into the house, leaving room for Lisa to step into the building. Father Garcia moved toward what looked like the living room. “John’s out getting groceries, so I’m looking after the children. You can stay with us while you wait.”
Lisa obliged, stepping inside and closing the door with a faint click behind her. The building was modest, and the old furniture looked slightly worn down, yet the mood was unexpectedly warm and welcoming. Children were playing with toys, many of which she recognized from John’s younger years: the orange and gray toy truck, multicolored building blocks, and small figures made of plastic. The kids puppeted the yellow and red figures to make the tiny people fight over what seemed like a pink hostage, the battle being animated dramatically by the kids’ onomatopoeia.
“Make yourself at home,” Father Garcia grunted, tugging off the apron and hanging it on a row of hooks along the wall. “I’ll make us some coffee.”
Sitting down at the table, she soaked in the homely vibe the orphanage put out. It was warm and welcoming, even with the awkwardness of the children staring at the stranger. I’m guessing John never showed them what I looked like. The kids kept staring as she glanced around in a fruitless attempt to avoid attention.
After a few minutes, Father Garcia returned with two steaming mugs, a small jar, and two wooden spoons on an off-white tray.
“Sugar?” He asked. She shook her head and he shrugged, putting a few spoonfuls into his #1 Dad mug and stirring it lightly.
Lisa beamed. “You seem to be doing well,” she said. “This place is unrecognizable from the rat-infested dump it used to be.”
“You have no idea, hija.” He chuckled and took a sip. “John put everything he had into this little house, you’d think it was a treasure trove full of gold.”
Looks like his sentimentality got the better of him, Lisa thought, drinking from her mug as well. An unpleasant memory drifted into her thoughts, one of her and John growing up in an orphanage where Sister Bell had cared for them. The nun had hidden her true intentions skillfully, so it came as a nasty shock to the staff when the kids were led like lambs to the slaughter into the cornfield surrounding the church.
Lisa and John were the only ones who survived, albeit cursed with the vivid memory of it all. She felt a chill run up her spine, and she took another drink from her cup in an attempt to combat the cold. I’m sure he doesn’t want anyone to go through what we did ever again… and neither do I.
Father Garcia checked his watch. “He should be back by now,” he muttered.
At that moment there was the sound of footsteps joined by the jingling of keys, and the door opened to reveal a black-haired figure weighed down by several paper bags of groceries. Lisa tried to greet him but was quickly cut off by the stampede of children rushing towards the door, all of them ecstatic about the return of their ‘mother’.
“Mom! You’re back!”
“I’m hungry! What’s for dinner?”
“Did you buy any snacks? Vienna stole mine!”
“Did not!”
“Did too!”
John laughed and began weaving his way through the crowd of kids into the kitchen. Putting down the bags and washing his hands, he tried to soothe the mass of hungry kids. “Now, now, let’s all calm down, I’m not your moth- whoa!”
A boy Lisa recognized as the one who tried to interrogate her managed to jump into his arms, and he spun him around a few times before gently putting him down. “You promised we could call you that until you found us one!” The child chirped. “Adults have to keep their promises!”
“Welcome back, hijo.” Father Garcia said, smiling. “I have some errands I need to run, so I’ll be off.”
They shook hands, and the old priest closed the door behind him.
“John!”
He looked up. Upon seeing who it was, his face lit up in a grin. “Lisa!” John waded quickly through the crowd and they caught each other in a hug, laughing.
“This is quite the crowd you have here,” Lisa remarked. Then in what she thought was a whisper, “Quick question, why do they call you Mom? You don’t look particularly girlish.”
“Oh, that?” A girl from the crowd chortled. “It’s because every time Mommy sees a spider-”
John nervously laughed and cut her off, suddenly embarrassed. “Don’t- don’t worry about it,” He whispered. She raised her eyebrows, and John cleared his throat in an attempt to change the subject. “Everyone, could I please have your attention? I’d like to introduce you to someone!”
The kids quieted down and peered up curiously at the blonde stranger.
He gestured to Lisa. “This is Lisa Pearson, my childhood friend. You‘ll see her around if she decides to visit again, so please be nice!”
“She’s Lisa? She doesn’t look as pretty as I thought she was.”
“Shush, Mom is talking!”
“You shush!”
Lisa chuckled at their bickering. “I’m glad they’re honest at least,” She said, and John sighed.
He glanced at her. “...Would you like to tell them a bit about yourself?”
But the children had broken into chaos once more, the air being filled with shrieks of mirth and blotting out what she was about to say.
She couldn’t help but smile. “They are children, after all. Here, why don’t I help you make dinner instead?”
John returned her grin. “Please.”

It was a peaceful moment between the two, cooking together and chatting about their lives like nothing had happened.
“It must’ve taken some major renovation to make the place look so nice,” Lisa remarked. “The little ones seem to love it here.” She peeled the last slice off a potato and threw it into a pot, filled it with water, and scraped the loose peels into a separate bowl.
Taking the pot, John moved it to the stove. Turning on the heat, he answered, “Took me and Father Garcia a good part of the year, but eventually, it was deemed good enough to house children by the government.” He took a large raw chicken from the fridge and placed it on a cutting board, starting to skin it. “I didn’t think they would let me near kids after what happened last year.”
“They know you were innocent,” Lisa said indignantly, now chopping carrots. “There was no evidence you killed Amy Martin, or that you… did that to her face.” She shuddered at the thought. It was certainly a feat of the human mind that anyone could think John was capable of murder, let alone carving out a little girl’s face when he could barely handle clowns. Poor John. He must have been so miserable inside the mental ward. From what he had told her, it sounded like they were putting him through psychological torture.
“It’s all over now, though,” He said. “And the orphanage and the people it helps is worth it.”
She sighed and scraped the thinly chopped carrots into a salad bowl. “I hope none of the insanity from last time starts up again. Considering all we’ve experienced, I’d say that's enough bad luck to last three lifetimes.”
John laughed, bringing the lighthearted air back to their conversation. “You could say that again.”
They continued their chatter, with the kids playing loudly in the background. Eventually, a sumptuous roast chicken was removed from the oven, and a salad, now fully assembled, was dressed and tossed, and Lisa’s potatoes were ready to be mashed. Some of the children were allowed to crush the potatoes with forks, albeit with little efficiency, while John led Lisa to the living room table to take a break.
“You’ve certainly improved at cooking,” She observed as John brought her a glass of water. “The last time you tried to cook a pancake, a fire nearly burnt the whole kitchen to a crisp.”
A flush spread across his face. “Well, I was only nine… Though I will say that cooking at midnight without the sisters’ permission or supervision wasn’t very wise.”
“We both got in trouble for that, by the way,” Lisa said, giving him a playful nudge with her elbow. “I can’t believe I let you drag me into it.”
He opened his mouth to respond, but at that moment a loud clatter and a bloodcurdling wail came from the kitchen.
“Aah! No hitting each other with the silverware!” John called, worry coursing through his voice. John mouthed sorry to Lisa, and she heard his panicked shouts fade away in the distance as he rushed toward the noise.
She sighed, smiling fondly. “Can’t leave them alone, huh?” With nothing to do but to wait for dinner, Lisa’s eyes wandered, eventually landing on a conversation that some of the children who weren’t interested in the potato pandemonium were having.
“HE’S your role model?” A girl with blonde hair sneered, peeking at a drawing clutched in the hand of a boy dressed in a tremendous amount of black.
He immediately snatched it away from her, giving the snooping girl the stink-eye. He stretched himself taller, addressing her dramatically, “We vampire slayers have aspired to be more like my ancestor, Abraham Van Hellsing, since the dawn of time. I am certainly no different.”
The girl rolled her eyes. “I can’t believe we’re the same age. How long are you planning to keep leaning into your delusions, Jon-nerd-ah?”
“Whatever. If you’re gonna call my role model lame, then let me see yours.” And before she could react, Jonah nabbed the girl’s paper. After a few seconds, he wore the same sneer she did just a moment ago, albeit a deep scowl now replaced her expression. “Seriously? He’s such a scaredy-cat! You can’t make fun of the greatest vampire hunter in history if you look up to-”
“Give it back, jerkwad!” She hissed, her ears turning red. She grabbed at her paper and tugged hard. It strained back and forth between them until it tore violently in half, the ripped pieces falling to the floor. The teens stared as it glided smoothly and landed at Lisa’s feet.
She picked them up. It was a picture of what looked like John, now severed at the waist, each detail carefully sketched in blue pen. It was remarkably feminine, with big eyes that clipped out of the head and long, sparkly lashes that were partially detached from his eyes. His legs were significantly shorter than his torso, which was so skinny that it looked as if a corset was permanently wound around it.
“Oh, sorry…” Lisa mumbled as the blonde girl stomped up to her, clenching her jaw and flushing red. “Um, you’re a very good artist.” She must be self-conscious about her drawings.
She placed the paper halves into the girl’s hands and watched as she silently climbed the stairs. Jonah scoffed and went back to drawing, rolling his eyes.
Just then, John came out of the kitchen panting heavily, looking disheveled with two children under his arms. All three of them were covered in bits of potato, with the girl under his left arm wiping some off her tanned face and sticking it in her mouth with a dreamy expression. The boy under his right arm looked rather sour and was crossing his chubby arms in a tiny fit, though it didn’t stop him from eating the potato off his face as well.
“Dinner- dinner’s ready,” John wheezed, catching his breath. He took a towel from his apron pocket and wiped the potato off the children’s faces, then his own. “Jonah, please call everyone to the dining room.”
The boy smothered in black dramatically sighed and went upstairs. John then gestured for Lisa to follow him, hanging his apron back on a hook on the wall.
After a little more wrangling, everyone sat around the dining table and John led them in a short prayer, letting everyone eat. The air was soon filled with the banter of children.
“Sally, look, Jonah is cutting his chicken into a funny circle!” A girl with curly ginger hair exclaimed, shoving a dripping piece of tomato and onion into her mouth.
The black-haired girl next to her wrinkled her nose. “Sarah, dummy, don’t chew with your mouth open. It’s gross.” Turning to Jonah, she peered at his plate. “So childish. Didn’t Mom ever teach you to not play with your food?” He pushed her face away with his hand, eyes still focused on his spectacularly butchered chicken.
“Mommy, can I have some more orange juice?” A pudgy-looking boy squeaked, holding out his empty glass.
“Of course!” John filled it halfway and smiled. “By the way, Tommy, have you seen Mina at all? She hasn’t come down for dinner.” His face crinkled in worry. “I hope she didn’t get herself into trouble again.”
“I think she’s still upstairs,” A pale boy with white hair said, spooning himself some mashed potatoes. “I saw her walk past when I was watching over the baby. She was pretty red, I think Jonah might’ve said something.”
Jonah let out a loud humph. “First of all, commoner, my name shan’t be slandered this way. My full title is Ulysses Van He-” The girl named Sally glared at him and pinched his cheek, causing him to yowl.
“Stop that!” He squawked indignantly, batting her hand away.
“We don’t care about your daydreams, schizophrenic.”
John sighed. “Children, please, not at the dinner table… I’ll go find Mina. Please stay behaved, you all.” He shot Lisa a pleading look and she gave him a small thumbs-up.
A child sitting next to her with short pigtails tapped her arm, hazel eyes wide. “Are you Mommy’s girlfriend?”
Lisa laughed. “No, but I knew him when we were children. He mentioned it in my introduction, didn’t he?”
The girl murmured a quiet ohhh and turned back to her food. Lisa then watched as she tried unsuccessfully to feed the baby in the hi-chair some lettuce, only to have a glob of mushed apple thrown in her face instead. The girl wiped it off, giving it the stink eye and throwing some of the mush right back. It landed on the baby’s bib, and it blew a raspberry at her. Lisa had to stuff her mouth with chicken to stifle her laughter.
Fortunately, other than the oddly sassy baby, the children took heed of their mother’s words this time and stayed relatively calm long enough for John to come back, unfortunately alone.
“She’s a little upset,” John whispered to Lisa. “I’ll save her some food for when she’s hungry.”
The dinner wrapped up in a surprisingly orderly manner as the kids piled their plates up next to the sink, some of them making off with a small candy from a basket Father Garcia had left behind. Most of them ran back into the playroom to play, while John picked up the baby and rocked him.
“There’s a place I wanted to show you but never got the chance to,” He said. “I have to put the baby to sleep, so I could ask one of the older children to lead you if you have time.”
Lisa nodded. “Of course.”
He smiled, then beckoned over a boy taller than him with curly brown locks. “Liam, if you could show Lisa the backyard…”
They spoke quietly to each other, and eventually, John went upstairs, leaving Lisa with the teen. “Follow me please, and watch your step,” Liam said, opening the backdoor to the house. It was raining lightly. He grabbed two umbrellas from the basket next to the frame, handing one to her and opening his outside. A winding stone path led from the door, glossy with water and lined with wooden fences holding back lush greenery. It had an ethereal beauty to it that Lisa couldn’t quite put her finger on, as if it were a portal leading to an undiscovered utopia.
They followed along past small ponds filled with algae and the occasional frog resting on a lily pad. She drank in the scent of the outdoors she’d missed from her childhood, sighing and closing her eyes. I didn’t realize how much I needed this. Lisa breathed, grinning. “Thank you.”
Liam returned her smile. “Don’t mention it.”
After a bit more walking, they reached a clearing framed with a clumsily built wooden arch, propped up with strings firmly tied to pegs in the ground. Inside was a garden with a gigantic pine tree in the center, the space around it filled with rows and rows of plants neatly separated by their types.
There were small paper tabs stuck into the soil labeling each one, all in different colors. Lisa bent down to read one under a scrawny stalk bearing small green bulbs, squinting at the smudged red marker. The tab read: Stawberys!!! And in neater handwriting under it: Planted 3/1/88 by Tommy Weissman.
It’s the end of June right now. “That was almost four months ago.” She stood up. “I never knew they took so long to grow.”
“They don’t,” Liam said, approaching the plant and cupping one of the berries in his palm. He gazed at it sadly and dropped it, sighing. “I’ve been taking care of the garden most of the time, and it’s been like this for a while now.” He said. “All of the plants have. None of us were able to figure out what’s happening, and neither has Father Garcia or John.”
“How awful,” Lisa said, frowning. “Is there any way I could…”
But there was something she could do. Or rather, something a certain someone else could do, someone she knew very well.
She pondered for a moment. “Would it be alright if I brought my friend Tiffany over to the orphanage sometime?” She asked. “It’s been a while, but she did earn a bachelor’s degree in plant biology. She’ll know something.”
He blinked. “Sure, I’ll ask John and see if he agrees.”
After looking around for a bit further, the two left the withering paradise for the orphanage. The rain had stopped during their short trip outside, and Liam took Lisa’s umbrella. John was nowhere to be seen.
“Well, I should head home,” Lisa said, navigating through the children playing on the floor. “Please tell John I’ll be visiting again soon and to consider my offer.” She shook Liam’s hand, then made toward the door.
“WAIT!!” The girl with pigtails from dinner came bounding towards Lisa, wearing a toothy grin. “I drew you something!” She squealed and showed her a piece of paper. It was a crayon drawing of a flower field with a rainbow in the back, the sky illuminated by a yellow sun in the corner. “You can have it if you want.”
Lisa took it and smiled fondly, patting the girl’s head. “Thank you so much! I’ll be sure to keep it safe.”
“Bye-bye!” The girl shouted from the front door as Lisa waved from her car window. She watched as she quickly scurried back inside, and with a final wave from Liam, the door closed.
As soon as she was sure she was alone, Lisa leaned back in her seat, sighing.
Children are cute, but they sure can be a fuckin’ handful.

It was dark outside when Lisa finally arrived home. She opened the door, and it creaked open to reveal a messy living room with moving boxes strewn everywhere and some clothes abandoned carelessly around the place. The few pieces of furniture that were set up were covered in a thin layer of dust from lack of use, other than the couch that sat across from the TV. It looks like Tiffany hasn’t finished moving her stuff in yet.
Lisa had asked Tiffany to move in with her, not wanting her to be stuck back at the apartment complex after what happened with the cult. She tried to help her with the boxes she had brought, but Tiffany refused to let her touch them, adamant that she put them away herself. As it had taken several months to convince her to stay, Lisa decided not to push it.
But now the boxes seemed to be completely abandoned in favor of several papers, many of them filled with messy lettering. Tiffany scrutinized them heavily, the sheets mere inches from her eyes as she bent over and scribbled illegible words on them. She was so focused on them that she never noticed Lisa enter the house, only reacting once she cleared her throat heavily.
“You’re back!” Tiffany said cheerfully, shambling forward to greet Lisa. Her eyes were weighed down with faint bags of fatigue that stained her usual doll-like complexion.
I wonder what’s got her so preoccupied.
“Where have you been?” She said. “You’ve never been out for longer than an hour if you could help it.”
“John invited me,” Lisa yawned, giving her a quick hug and collapsing onto the sofa. “He runs an orphanage.”
“Oh?” Tiffany returned to her papers. “Tell me about it.”
She ended up talking over the soap opera starting to air on TV, while Tiffany responded to everything with an occasional hum or a short laugh. She’s trying to sound interested, but her eyes aren’t leaving the papers. Curious, Lisa leaned in close to peek at them.
Tiffany sat up from her curled-up position at the same time, and their heads ended up colliding in a painful thunk. Lisa yelped, while Tiffany barely flinched.
“Oh… Sorry,” She mumbled, picking up an empty mug and shuffling toward the kitchen. “By the way, are you hungry? I can whip something up for you before I go back to work.”
Lisa shook her head. “I had dinner there, remember?”
“Ah. Right.” She closed them and headed for the water kettle. “Alright. More coffee for me, then.”
“Coffee?” Lisa blanched. “Tiff, it’s almost 8-”
“I know, I know.” Tiffany laughed dryly. “Can’t be helped, though. I can’t sleep until I get a job.” Her laughter fizzled off into a melancholy sigh. “I’ve been denied by all of the ones I’ve applied to. Not even a week of consideration, just an immediate letter of rejection.”
Lisa tilted her head. “How long have you been sending applications to these companies?”
Tiffany was suddenly very interested in watching the water boil.
“You can tell me,” She said, laughing nervously.
After a long pause, Tiffany waved her hand as if clearing the air. “I-it doesn’t matter. It’ll happen eventually.” She showed her a wobbly attempt at a smile. “Just a matter of time. Oh, don’t look at me like that,” She said sadly as her friend gave her an unconvinced look, “It just takes a while to find the right one.”
Lisa thought for a moment. “I’ll stay up with you then, at the very least. Someone’s gotta make sure you take care of yourself.”
“Eh?” Tiffany flinched. “Absolutely not. By the time I finish filling out all the forms, it might already be dawn.” She fidgeted. “I might not finish at all.”
“Then I could help you fill out the applications,” Lisa said, standing up from the couch and stretching. “I know I’m no good with persuasive writing, but I don’t want you passing out in the middle of the day tomorrow because of this.”
“But your paintings-”
“They can wait.”
“If you have plans tomorrow-“
“I’m free all day.”
“Your sleep schedule…” Tiffany mumbled, her hands gripping the mug tightly.
Lisa firmly shook her head. “I’m telling you, it’s fine. It’s not as bad as you think it is. And if it’s this important to you, then it is to me as well.”
Tiffany gave her a look of concern. “...You don’t have to do this.”
“I know,” Lisa said, smiling. “But I want to.”

Hi! Me and my partner are turning 33 this year, so we are throwing a big hobbit coming-of-age picnic - and I plan to send our friends on a hobbit-style quest epic. It will take place outside in a park with lots of really interesting features, and I expect between 10 - 20 people to participate in the quest. Apologies for the very long, detailed post, but I would love some feedback - I am worried that I am making it too complex, but I have lots of ideas I would love to include!
(SPOILER ALERT - in case by some coincidence my players have found this sub: if you are invited to a hobbit coming-of-age picnic in the next few weeks, read no further!)
Hobbits will form 4 teams (fellowships, one might say) to embark on the quest. There will be a range of puzzle experience in the teams, as well as a range of Tolkien knowledge - but as a reference point, many of my friends are nerds who enjoy escape rooms! The aim of the quest will be to retrieve a preciousss treasure hidden somewhere in the park. By collecting the clues, each team will gather the information they need to find it - but it is a race: only one team will succeed.
My plan for this is for each team to have to visit 4 locations, which lead one to the next in a circular fashion. Each team will start with a clue that leads them to one of the four locations, so hopefully we don't get everyone bunched up in one location at once. At each of the four locations, teams will pick up a rune in addition to a clue that leads them to the next location. The locations are a few minutes walk from each other, with the two most distant 10 minutes apart.
Once teams have collected all four runes, they will return to the picnic, where they will receive a decoder for their runes, and the first team will receive a key. This will lead them to the final location, where they can unlock the treasure.
That's the overview! Now for the details...
I have made a map of the park with several landmarks marked (including the four locations as well as some red herrings). Each team will receive a copy of this map with some written instructions - e.g. "You must visit four locations and collect an item from each. Please leave the clues where they are! Once you have collected four items, come back to the picnic..." plus this silly little rhyme: "Then, if in your quest you shall progress The party hobbits you must impress Search the country high and low For certain gifts you must bestow With master hobbit you'll try your luck For he requires a majestic rock And mistress hobbit, she requires The bestest stick in all the shires" The idea of this is to give a more whimsical task for the less puzzle-inclined in the group. They must find the most majestic rock and the bestest stick! And would it be a hobbit adventure without some rhyming verse?
Each team will also receive a riddle along with their map, which points to an item at the picnic site. Riddles as follows (they may need some work, let me know what you think): In amongst the things to eat, can you find Smeagol's favourite treat? answer: fish (a flappy fish toy with a velcro pocket)
Invisible threads beneath the ground, fairies dance around and round, a tiny seat for a warty frog, you'll find me on a rotting log answer: mushroom (a ceramic mushroom shaped pot)
Though I have no body, my spine is hard, I hold more stories than a bard answer: book (with a hidden compartment)
I have a neck but no head - don't ask why! I share my name with a buzzy fly answer: blue bottle
(I also like the idea of a hollowed out candle with a clue in it - yet to decide!)
Each of these items will contain a clue to the starting location for the team: I plan to have these be fun gambits but hopefully not too challenging puzzle wise. My four ideas are

1. the location spelled out with random letters written in frixxion ink in between, provided with matches (I will keep spares of the clue in case they just burn them!)
2. an origami dragon, with the clue revealed if you unfold the paper
3. a simple scytale cipher, already rolled up a little & with cylinder provided
4. ~12 jigsaw puzzle pieces, once assembled reveal the clue on the back

This will then start them on their points on the quest: cairn, statue, well and hill.

• At the cairn, there will be a chest hidden in a gap in the rocks. This will contain a clue that leads them to the statue (TBD!) as well as a rune
• At the statue, there will be a chest with an ottendorf cipher that corresponds to the statue plaque, which will reveal the clue for the hill - also a rune
• At the hill, there will be a hobbit (my obliging sister) waiting with a verbal clue, and to give them a rune. The clue could be geographical e.g. "Under the heat of the midday sun, I turn my back to my shadow. I walk down and then up again, and stop to quench my thirst. But wait, is that something in the murky depths?" (the well is due south of the hill, and across a "valley")
• At the well - which is more or less a bowl of murky water - the runes will be hidden inside the bowl of water, so that someone has to reach in to pull one out. The runes themselves say CAIRN on the back, which leads them back to the cairn...

This is where my plan gets a bit fuzzy.
The first team to come back to base with all four runes, and present my partner with a majestic rock, will receive a rune decoder ring from him. The runes spell out the letters P I E R - though they will be scrambled. This should lead players to the final location, the pier, which is marked pictographically on the map but not labelled. On presenting me with the bestest stick, I will give them one final riddle - one from The Hobbit: "A box without hinges, key or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid". This should lead them to an egg nearby at the picnic table - a clay egg, with a key hidden inside. They have to smash the egg to get to the key. Alternatively/additionally, I give them a piece of translucent paper with a shape and an X on it. The shape, when combined with the map, will be the outline of the lake, with X marking the location of the pier. I'm not sure what is best here. I have a little acorn necklace I was hoping to hide a clue in but I haven't worked that bit out.
Finally, when they get to the pier, there will be a chain descending into the lake. If they pull up the chain, there will be a padlock in the shape of a fish, with the ring (the one ring to rule them all etc etc) also attached. The key unlocks the padlock, they have the ring. Quest complete!
I would appreciate any and all advice! I won't be able to play test this per say, as pretty much everyone I know who would be up for it is coming to the picnic.
How long do you think this might take? Is it too many steps? Too few puzzles? Too many riddles? (I already know the answer to that, but riddles are very hobbit-like).
