Troubleshooting: I have gone in and individually taken each component out and put them back in place and secured properly and get nothing when I go to turn on the power. When I do the paperclip 24pin connector trick I find that my power supply is supplying power but when I plug it back into the motherboard I get nothing. Then I went to bestbuy and bought a new motherboard and right before I go to install it at a friends house I plug my pc in and it turns on and boots fine. I test it 6x and it works fine so I think it’s not the motherboard. In light of this discovery I elect to not install the new motherboard and instead go home to see if it’s working again. As soon as I get home I plug the pc in and get nothing again. So then I try 5 more outlets in my house and the pc does not turn on. I borrow my friends power cable to see if thats the issue and it still wont turn on. Meanwhile my roommates pc has been running fine during this entire ordeal in the same house where none of the outlets work for my Pc. What is wrong with my pc and why does it only turn on at my friend’s house? Also to note there was a rain storm recently but my pc wasn’t on during it. Also to note I had this same issue a couple months ago and I took it in to a pc repair shop. The guy told me all he did was unplug everything and put it back in and it worked fine. So I don’t know why this keeps happening.

Hello! Please give me your raw advice for what I can do to improve my chances of being admitted to UNC. I don't mind a real/raw answer as that is what I truly need (no need to sugar coat). :)
I want to start off by mentioning that UNC is a reach school for me. I just finished my junior year last week and felt that it would be nice for me to get some tips as I am planning on applying to schools this autumn.
UNC is my dream school because I would like to pursue a study in medicine and UNC has a great program for it! To be frank, UNC hasn't always been my dream school. This is because during my freshman and sophomore year, I did not have good grades for someone who would be admitted to such school.
Most of my grades were a B- and I even got two D's on some final exams. This left me completely hopeless and I told myself that my only option was community college. Due to my hopelessness, I did not even think to try any further.
I had a 3.51 GPA through mostly honors courses, but no AP courses. However, my junior year courses consisted of one AP and the rest being all honors courses. I started to receive much better grades in all of my classes as I decided to give it "one last try." Through this, I managed to raise my GPA to a 4.02, which I am very proud of.
This allowed me to gain some confidence and I began to consider more school options for me and therefore, UNC really captured my attention. I have around 150 volunteer hours, several club experiences, some leadership, a few honors societies, 3 years of foreign language, along with 7 years of band. I also took courses from a medical-future-based program since my freshman year. I am also an in-state resident (which is a huge plus)! Yet, my concerns arise, because compared to many admitted undergrad students at UNC, I feel that I do not have enough rigor in my classes.
I do have 3 more AP courses scheduled for my senior year, which will begin in August, but I am not sure if those would count. Upon addressing my concerns with my school counselor and some senior friends who were admitted to UNC, I was told that a strong letter of recommendation and eye-catching essay may help improve my chances of acceptance.
I have already asked some teachers who know me very well and helped me for letters of recommendations and received the OK!
I have a few ideas for what I want to write my essay about, but I am afraid that they may be cliche. My ideas are:
1.) I grew up as "fat" and "ugly" child, but was able to change into what society would consider to be more attractive through my efforts (working out, eating healthier, taking care of myself more in general). I am thinking about writing about how the treatment I received from society (depending on my physical appearance) allowed me to grow/mature, learn, and realize how society truly is like.
2.) When I received the worst grades that I ever had during my first two years of high school (receiving D's on some final exams, always getting 60's on my tests, etc), I truly believed that this was the "end of the world" for me. I am thinking about writing about how my unexpected growth this past school year allowed me to learn about the value of effort and self-strength, how one shouldn't give up, & how I discovered my growing strive and love to be educated.

What topcoat can be use with Dspiae markers?
I ordered all the Dspiae marker sets recently (regular Mk series, metallic MKM & Super metallic MKA series[which will melt ABS]) but I heard they scrap off super easily, and I handle my kits alot and generally hate the idea of not being able to touch them or of the paints fading over time.
Thus I need a topcoat that won't damage these water based acrylics, but I can't get an airbrush, so whatever it is, it needs to come in a spray can, but all of those seem to hot. I also really like gloss and dislike Matt finishes.
Are there any water based or gentle enough topcoats like that or am I stuck? I already have Mr. Hobby topcoat gloss, but isn't that too harsh?
For primer, I was thinking about ordering Vallejo's mecha primer(black, white & grey), and using paint brushes to apply it before using the Dspiae markers over it. And maybe try sanding a bit, with 2000 Grit, for extra grip. Hey that rhymes! I also have gundam EX markers and Molotow chrome, would these also benefit from Vallejo mecha primer? Because I've heard that you water based and alcohol based primers are not interchangeable.
I'm still very new to the hobby.
BTW I already know markers don't play well on larger surface areas, I'm only planning to use these for detailing.
I know whatever I endup buying I'll need to test it out on the runners first.
In short what topcoat and primer can be used with dspiae Markers without an airbrush?

TL;DR: Toxic job, anxiety disorder, trying to figure out exit strategy, do I need a lawyer to protect me against risk?
I have worked in a very unpleasant and toxic environment at a private university for 2 years and had 4 bosses. I took the job - my first offer - in a field I had newly transitioned to, so I was willing to put up with a lot of bullshit.
Unfortunately I also have a horrible anxiety disorder, and this is an environment where very anxiety-inducing, punitive measures are frequently used. I have disclosed this to HR and Boss #2 & Boss #4. After Boss #2 became my boss, I also verbally reported to HR that I felt Boss #1 was previously engaging in bullying behavior towards me, that I only wanted to document it and did not want it addressed because I feared retaliation.
This is an organization that is losing money and making bad decisions on how to make up for lost revenue. I am on the higher paid end for my role, and of late many higher-paid people are being pushed out to hire cheaper labor. It was made clear to me on multiple occasions Bosses #1 & #4 that I can easily be replaced by contractors for less or that the work I’m doing is not worth the pay I’m receiving. Boss #4 has also engaged in unethical (but not technically illegal) behavior, but has been at the organization for 30 years. Boss #4 is clearly not going anywhere.
I am having panic attacks nearly daily because Boss #4 is scrutinizing my work extremely closely, contacting me out of office hours, and moving goal posts in addition to making the bulk of my job “other duties as assigned.” Boss #4 wants to know where I am and what I’m doing at all times. This behavior makes me super anxious and I’ve communicated that. Boss #4 has also “caught” me using my personal email as a dummy account to test out some tech features in my own private tech space, but she made it seem that I could be using it to look at private user information which would be a FERPA violation. I am quite sure I mentioned using this for testing and was certainly not hiding it.
We’re all unhappy. I want to leave this job but want to do so on my terms in terms of exit strategy. I’ve hired an employment lawyer in the past, but that was in MA, not RI, and it was for a truly clear and awful situation. I did a free consultation with an RI employment lawyer and he felt that they would likely PIP me, terminate me, and not protest an unemployment claim. He did not think I needed a lawyer. But I know that this employer is quite vindictive, and has frequently made narratives to fit decisions for termination. I’m clearly a bad fit, and I dread going to work, but I need a job until I can transition elsewhere so it is what it is for now.
I’m terrified this employer will name misconduct as the reason for a termination, and I will be humiliated and have no recourse for collecting unemployment, which I would need. I’m sure I’ve done something to violate company policy in the 2 years I have been there- if they want to find something, I’m sure they can. I have had panic attacks in my sleep because of this. Should I hire a lawyer just in case? My best hope at this time would a constructive dismissal with uncontested unemployment and no negative reference from them and/or some kind of non-disparagement agreement. How much risk am I exposed to here?

There's a lot of people who already had many or at least some more successful videos but now struggle to get a fair amount of views. As a creator myself, with almost 10M followers on tiktok via my main channel googlemapsfun, I frequently experience ups- and downs in my views. Especially because I have a theme-related page and not a personal prominence, my views depend a lot on the individual quality of my videos. However, I have always managed to go viral again regardless of what people have been saying.
So first, let's identify the potential causes of unusually low views:
The causes & individual solutions
I don't want to be one of those "prolly your content sucks" people, even though it might by true for many people, but a lot of times it's something different. And secondly, sometimes content seems bad for some people, but a sekect few might love it. If the videos have low views because of this, let's just say your niche is too small and the videos are just not a fit for a wider mass.
Besides, I believe we shouldn't just compare a person who genuinely doesn't have the ability to create engaging content with someone who just uses outdated trends for examples. So there have to be some nuances to it. However, in 99% of cases where tiktok isn't actively supressing your views, in some way or the other, your content strategy has to be changed. But in order to know what to do, figure out which of the following causes fits to you most:
Option 1: Your content has not gotten better or worse, but your target group has moved on, as you failed to gain a personal connection to them or advance your content to stay ahead of your competition. They have enjoyed your content in the past, but now it has lost relevance and interest, as they tend to watch other content that is more fresh. Perhaps they have even forgotten why they followed you at all in the first place, especially if you are a one hit wonder. Think about where they might have moved on to, and how to stay relevant for them. Can the content you are posting right now be a long term theme? There is also a possibility that you have a very weird target group that does not exist in its current form anymore, for example if you provided an entertaining video to a news topic that is not relevant anymore. Then, you are more or less at the same point you were before having success at all.
Option 2: Your target group is somewhere else, but they are just sick of your content. Maybe you used the same trend or content style for a longer time, and failed to notice that the sound you used is slightly overused, your videos become repetitive and new trends arise that you failed to notice. There is also a possibility that your competition just got ahead of you, while your videos are just as good as ever. But if you have consistently managed to gain success with a clear video structure, there is always a potential for a similar format to work again, in case you manage to identify the fundamental and distinctive aspects of it. In the meantime, try a few new content formats while you try to improve your existing video format and modernize it, maybe bring some new trends and fresh ideas into it. A lot of times, your old formats will work again in some way or another, and only in some cases you will really need to change your content fully.
Option 3: You are blind to the reasons that made you go viral. Maybe, you do not know your niche or target group. And interesting enough, your target group is still there and maybe even interested in your videos - if you just knew what is the Factor X that made them like your videos, that made a wider mass like your videos and not only a small niche. Maybe you are trying to hard and lost your authenticy on the way - there is a lot of possible further reasons. It takes skill to find out the important aspects in your video formats. Only good analysis skills, as well as trial and error will get you to that point. So keep trying and improving your content! Some might have been experiencing more views in their first videos ever posted, but then fell off. This is very common however, as tiktok tests your videos more in the beginning to find out which is your best target group.
Of course, you can always give tiktok the fault for knowingly restricting your account or something, but I would never expect that. I hoped this helped you, but at the same time I couldn't really get very specific here as there are a lot of different cases.

About a month ago I was driving home from work & suddenly out of no where I felt a cool rush starting from my feet and arms going to my head followed by horrible pain in my head and neck then my heart beat skyrocketed and I started to feel like I was gonna pass out. Called ambulance and went to the hospital. They ran tests and said they didn't find anything wrong at that time but that I should still see a cardiologist. This happened on a Thursday afternoon. Woke up the next day feeling fine and back to normal. A week passed and again while I was driving home the same thing happened, this time I was close the a hospital and managed to drive myself to hospital. This time i had horrible pressure to my head and neck. Heart beat was still feeling really high. They had me there for a while hooked up to a EKG but at the end of the night they said they didn't find anything wrong. They said I was having some heart palpitations and suggested the same thing, to see a cardiologist. The next 2 days weren't good, had horrible pressure to my neck and head, Heart would sometimes feel like it would rise but wasn't as bad as before. I used some Icy/Hot patches to my neck and those helped so much with the pressure in my neck and head but wouldn't stop the heart palpitations.
I have seen my PCP and a cardiologist, I got a 7 day heart monitor but was told that they didn't find any issue while I had the monitor on. I'm scheduled to have more tests done but everything is so backed up right now and these symptoms aren't getting better. I was ok for 3 days. Felt like I was almost back to normal but then suddenly on Thursday it hit me again. I've noticed that I start feeling bad in the afternoons between 3pm and 6pm for some reason. The pressure to my head and neck is still there but it's not as bad and can deal with it without pain medication. I feel anxious/scared all the time because I'm worried to get another episode again. I'm now waiting to see a Neurologist but that's not until July. I'm 33 years old, have never suffered from anxiety before.
Is this what anxiety can cause or do? Has anyone had something similar happen?

Edit:If you become friends with the champ and then unfriend them their is a chance that they might take it bad and become your enemy Edit 2: Make sure your friends with the promoter & keep your attidue high because you do those things the promoter won't fire you even if you failed his goal. Havent Tested this but it should work, if you get a non title match and then form a tagteam the non title match shpuld become a tagteam match and then break up your team and the match should change back to singles and you should have a better chance for a title match. IMO you should ask the promtor if you can join because then you dont get to neogiate your contract

Since the entire complex of environmental settings, suit protection levels and affliction risks after the May Update seems to be an even greater mystery than before, I ran a few experiments today when I did some errands at the Red Mile on Porrima III.
These are some preliminary findings, and there are still some things I don't quite understand that would require further testing.
Let's start with the gameplay options for environmental damage:
Environmental Damage & Afflictions: OFF
That one is easy, it removes the entire functionality from the game. Weather conditions, temperature, hazards, none of that will do damage or create afflictions. You can even stand in the middle of a gas fumarole and it won't harm you.
Environmental Damage & Afflictions: NORMAL
This one seems to be the old system from before the update. Whenever you enter hazardous conditions, your suit protection will kick in and produce an audible warning. That't the blinking indicator in your HUD, corresponding with the type of condition (each one has a particular icon). There's also an audible beeping sound. As long as the suit protection holds up, there is no risk of afflictions. The beeping and blinking will grow faster as the suit protection wears off, until the icon in the HUD becomes permanent and is no longer blinking. Counterintuitively, this means that the suit protection has worn off and there is now a risk of gaining an affliction. If you enter your status effects view in the menu, it also describes this.
Now, even more counterintuitively, the type of suit and the environmental resistances it offers (thermal, corrosive, airborne, radiation) doesn't seem to make a difference for the time duration your suit protection will hold up. You can wear gear that offers 85 thermal protection or you can wear one that offers 0, the time the indicator is blinking is always the same as long as the outside conditions are the same. The environmental resistance levels however do seem to make a difference for the chance to gain an affliction once the suit protection has worn off (this one requires some further testing to be sure).
Environmental Damage & Afflictions: ADVANCED
This is the new setting from the May Update that is described as "Environmental Damage and Afflictions are gained from hazards, weather and ambiently on dangerous planets".
This is a little misleading, because this setting functions fundamentally different from the NORMAL one. What it actually does is it adds real environmental health damage on top of the risk of afflictions. So when your suit protection is depleted, you will, depending on your suit, start taking environmental damage to your health. That is the orange part of your health bar that will fill up and can't be replenished by med packs.
Now, the suit environmental resistances (thermal, corrosive, radioactice, airborne) make a big difference how fast this environmental damage will eat up your health bar. I ran a few tests with thermal protection from 0 to 85 in a snowstorm on Porrima III, and suits, packs, helmets with high thermal resistance levels are really important with that setting. Higher resistances also seem to lower the chance of gaining an affliction here.
So, I hope this clears up some of the common misconceptions about these systems. Further testing will be required to find out what exactly the suit environmental resistance levels change. My current guess, again, is that it doesn't make a difference for the "suit protection" (the blinking indicator and how long it lasts), but it seems to make a difference for the chance to gain afflictions and it definitely helps with the rate of environmental health damage you get when activating the ADVANCED setting.

Hey guys, My name is Athena & I'm a new forensic sci student. the cal state i go doesnt nec. have a FS program but a subsection of their bio program that can segway. In the meanwhile I would love some tips on how to navigate and what routes yall took? bio? chem? anatomy? please let me know!! I'd like to hear some personal stories & insight.
I also wanna know the different routes everyone is taking so I can know just exactly whats out there. So far.I know there is: Crime Lab Analyst, CSI, Forensic Radiology, Toxicology, Criminalistics, F Anthrolopogu, Forensic Medicial Examiner, Forensic Legal Team** (Would like to know more), Prospection Cadaver Labs, Mortuary, Morticians, working alongside cops and being interns for the CSI. ---also side note, I'm a very talkative person and love engaging with people. So i wanna specifically take a route where I can be in a lab for SOME of the time, then analyzing the data with other peers and talking it over w them. Don't want to be cooped up solely in a lab but to be able to work alongside varying departments.

28 F. 113 lbs. Chronic migraine (controlled w/ Botox & rescue nurtec), BP chronically on low side, chronic nystagmus when made to look to the side via that follow the finger test.
For the past few days I’ve had vertigo/increased tinnitus/pain in the space between where your skull meets your cervical spine that will not stop for anything 😑. (Side note, not ear crystals: neurology tried the maneuver for that)
My coworkers got to witeness me get knocked on my ass trying not to lose consciousness on Monday (I think it was Wednesday? Its blending together) and my pride will never recover. I can usually hide away until the worst passes and no one is the wiser, but man am I getting my ass kicked.
I don’t think there is a reason to seek medical attention bc there’s nothing to be done I think. And I feel like I’d know if I was dying lol.
Migraine meds are not touching pain for more than an hour. Doesn’t feel like my normal migraine either.
I don’t know what the issue is honestly. Neurology is sending me to get an MRA & MRV because of pulsitile tinnitus on top of the regular tinnitus.
Whatever the problem is, it’s annoying and I’m hoping one of yall has a tip because I almost got flattened mid dog walk, and I will have to move forever if my neighbors have to peel my ass off the sidewalk lol 😅
I need to go to work tomorrow, preferably without having to try to maintain my grip on consciousness every few minutes 🤦

F28 with Ovarian Cancer I am really struggling with medical negligence not just from one doctor, but multiple. Just an FYI this is a long post about my overall experience since getting diagnosed with cancer and learning I have an underlying autoimmune disorder(s). I’ve been dealing with a lot of discrimination because I’m young and “healthy looking” and doctors constantly dismiss me or discriminate me for some reason and I’m tired of it. I’ve been sick and disabled since last November and I had a great job and was running my own business but lost everything because of negligent doctors and cancer.
I originally posted this on legaladvice because I thought maybe I had a case but at this point I don’t even know if I have a case or not and I’m starting to just accept that this is how this shitty system works. Anyways I thought I’d at least share my experiences with the medical field in the US specifically in LA California. I imagine I’m not the only person who has gone through this and that many people who are struggling with disabilities face these kind of obstacles when navigating the healthcare system here. I’ve had to learn how to advocate for myself and I only hope that my post and experience helps those struggling with their health.
In order for me to advocate for myself I’ve had to basically become just as knowledgeable about my condition(s) to get the proper care. I’ve had to fight for my diagnosis and proper treatment and had I not been looking up my symptoms, possible diagnosis, lab work results, I may have died or came to the verge of it had I fully trusted any of the doctors I’ve come into contact with. Always do your own research using trusted resources and have someone with you who can help advocate for you when you can’t advocate for yourself. Not only am I dismissed for being a female but also for being young and healthy looking despite having serious debilitating symptoms.
For two years I was seeing a rheumatologist for an underlying autoimmune disorder(s) like SLE OR MS and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Primary immunodeficiency, dysautonomia, fibromyalgia, CIDP and still being investigated for more issues.
In November I decided to go on a LOA because my flares were starting to become more frequent and severe. My psychiatrist was the one who filled out the LOA paperwork for the time from Nov-Dec because I was hesitant to ask my Rheumatologist. I was told by my rheumatologists office that filling out LOA paperwork was $300 out of pocket and at the time I didn’t have that money so my psychiatrist signed it because I was also struggling with my mental health and family issues that time.
I was supposed to go back to work in January but at the start of the new year I got really sick and my flares started to ramp up again so I had to request a new LOA. My psychiatrist couldn’t help me with my LOA paperwork anymore because it was more health related now and told me to go see my rheumatologist. I was still hesitant because of the fee and then when I was about to see my rheumatologist again and get my bloodwork done I got a surprise bill from the lab where I get my bloodwork done for $400 after insurance. They wouldn’t let me get additional tests until I paid the fee and I couldn’t see my rheumatologist until I had my bloodwork done. I made an appointment with my rheumatologist anyways but the soonest I could get wasn’t until after the LOA deadline in March. I also couldn’t get any disability benefits until that LOA form was filled out by my doctor so I had no income to pay for any of this.
I ended up in the Emergency Room on 2/16/24 a little over a week before I needed to submit the forms for LOA and at this point my employer was threatening to fire me for failing to provide the LOA paperwork. I tried explaining the situation to one of my managers but he wasn’t having it and didn’t care.
When I went to the first emergency room I went in for multiple serious symptoms, they knew I had an underlying autoimmune disorder causing the flares and that I had surgery 3 years prior to remove ovarian cysts on my right ovary. I told the emergency room that I had a lot of abdominal pain across multiple areas, I was really weak, fatigued, dealing with vertigo, migraines, blood in stool, persistent bloating, frequent urination, appetite loss, rapid weight gain, insomnia, tachycardia, high bp, neuropathic itch/ polyneuropathy and my symptoms were to the point where I was losing my ability to walk. My partner was holding me the entire time so I wouldn’t fall.
The emergency room did a bunch of tests that included a basic blood panel, physical exam and a CT scan of my abdomen. They didn’t find the bleeding but instead found that I had a complex 14cm tumor on my right ovary which they deemed a dermoid cyst.
When they gave me the news they officially diagnosed me with a “dermoid cyst from birth” even though I countered their diagnosis and told them that was impossible because I had surgery 3 years prior. The doctor didn’t backtrack at all, just stuttered and continued to discharge me because it “wasn’t an emergency” just because I wasn’t bleeding out despite all of my serious progressing symptoms.
I angrily left the ER knowing it was utter BS and deep down I knew it was cancer because of how sick I was. I could literally feel I didn’t have much time but because I looked young and healthy and my basic blood panel didn’t throw up any huge red flags at them even they dismissed me and misdiagnosed me. I wasn’t even given anything to manage the pain.
I even told them I was already on a medical leave and that I’ve been really sick but that it was getting bad and I couldn’t see my rheumatologist. However I didn’t know about the tumor until then. I told them I needed help with the LOA paperwork too and had they admitted me I would have been able to get an extension and still have my job and benefits. I could have started treatment sooner and received disability pay but instead was forced to continue living with this pain. It was so large that I was at risk of torsion rupture and necrosis, Not to mention permanent nerve damage.
The next day I called up every gynecologist I could to see where I could go for the soonest appointment for an ultrasound. I found a doctor who took me as an emergency appointment a few days later and he confirmed it was most likely malignant and that I needed surgery ASAP. I talked to him about my LOA situation too because I was running out of time and I was too disabled to work. He also refused to help me sign my LOA paperwork because according to him, “ovarian cancer can’t cause systemic symptoms and you’re going to need to wait until surgery before I put you on leave”. I told him I had an underlying autoimmune disorder that I think is being exasperated by the cancer and I was just dismissed yet again despite needing someone to physically help me walk so I don’t fall. He also didn’t give me anything for the pain I was in.
I had to turn in my LOA that day but because of this I was forced to resign my position or face getting fired and becoming un-hirable so I had to quit. In quitting I lost everything, benefits, stocks, my job, my health, doctors. I’m now in debt with multiple cc going to collections because I haven’t been getting an income since January and I’m just starting chemo so I have no idea when I’ll be able to work again. I don’t know what to do here. I was going to try to settle my debt but with what money?? I might be forced into bankruptcy for 7 years now.
After I lost my insurance I applied for medi-cal but something with my application in there system wasn’t right and it was in a never ending pending limbo state(Took about two months to actually sort it out and I only sorted it out that quickly because my friend works for medi-cal). I tried waiting it out for two weeks, calling them sorting it out and doing it right by the system but every day I was getting sicker and weaker and I felt I was running out of time as I was bed ridden at this point.
Two weeks later I went to a different ER because at this point I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t eat and I started getting migraines after doing anything. I was miserable from enduring all the symptoms and never ending anxiety and mood swings of possibly having an autoimmune disorder like SLE, MS and ovarian cancer.
The second ER I went to finally admit me for emergency surgery after a full day of being in the emergency room and they confirmed it was in fact a tumor. It also grew to 20cm by that point. By this time the tumor had already ruptured and twisted my ovary. The entire time I was there though it was a battle. I had been living with this for so long that I was perceiving my pain as a 6 when in reality I had nerve damage and the pain was likely higher. I seemed calm at first but anytime someone came in trying to tell me I was fine I couldn’t hold it together and would start crying because I was at my breaking point. I was suffering and no one was taking me seriously. I had to make it a point that because of the misdiagnosis from the last hospital, I lost everything and was in a position where I couldn’t get any care because of the issue I was having with my medi-cal application. It would’ve been months before I found a PCP, got referred to specialists, confirmed it was cancer, and scheduled a surgery. At one point during my time in the emergency room, the head of the ER came to me and literally told me, “I want to help you but you’re going to have to SELL it to me”. After that I kept having to tell them that my pain was like an 8-10 and that the pain meds weren’t working. They put me on gabapentin which didn’t really do anything for me actually. But then they started giving me morphine and while it helped tremendously I also found out that day that I either have an allergy or a sensitivity to morphine.
Anyways now to my current situation. I started chemo about two weeks ago and my current oncologist is also being negligent.
I found out the other day that she blindly prescribed a medication for nausea that interacts with a medication that I was already on. The interaction is known to cause arrhythmias apparently. During my first week of chemo I was taking both meds and mentioned that my chest had been feeling heavy and I had pain. I was told it was steroids. It continued and then one night as I was falling asleep my heart started to pound really hard for about 10-15 seconds. I told my doctor about it and again steroids.
That same day I went to pick up a prescription and just happened to ask if anything interacted and that’s when I found out that it was a major interaction and I literally could have died had I not luckily already been titrating off of the offending medicine. I stopped taking those meds and immediately the chest pain stopped and I haven’t had an episode like that since.
I am freaked out and don’t want to continue my care with her due to her negligence. This should have been a conversation at minimum and she didn’t even tell me she prescribed it let alone double check for interactions(she had the list of my current medications). I just got a notification from my pharmacy that it was ready. I also didn’t know about the interaction when it was picked up because my mom picked it up for me and she doesn’t speak English very well.
I talked to my care teams assistant and told her I wanted a change of doctors because I didn’t trust her after this and she said she was going to put in the request. They called me yesterday though and said they weren’t going to switch me because I had already started treatment. They refused to switch my doctors despite everything that’s happened even though she literally almost accidentally killed me. I am livid and don’t want to continue with them but they’re giving me no choice but to continue seeing her.
I already set up an appointment for a second opinion but that’s not for another two weeks before the appointment and I don’t want to interrupt the treatment.
I have a rare type of ovarian cancer with a high grade tumor. It was a germ cell tumor called an immature teratoma. They said it is stage 1 but because I had emergency surgery, the tumor had already ruptured, and everything was rushed I don’t feel this is an accurate diagnosis because I have pain in all of the surrounding areas where the tumor was pushing up against. (I also mentioned this to my oncologist but instead of running tests or anything else I was given a psych referral for anxiety because I have an adhd & bipolar diagnosis even though I’ve been stable for years and I wasn’t overreacting in this case). The tumor was exasperating all of my autoimmune symptoms and causing me to be in a never ending flare so my body has been heavily damaged. Im becoming disabled at 28. I have so much anxiety with doctors now because I’m traumatized from my experience with them dismissing me and discriminating against me. Like I’m young so I “must be able to tolerate more”. I have to constantly look up my lab results, medications, conditions, because of how much negligence and dismissal I’ve been dealing with over the years. I’m scared I’m going to die from something preventable and not cancer at this rate.
TLDR: F28 w/ ovarian cancer and pre-existing autoimmune disorders struggling to get care, proper diagnosis, treatment, negligence by multiple doctors, losing everything. US health care system is incredibly difficult to navigate and we need to constantly advocate for ourselves to get proper care in this for profit healthcare system.
