Hi all, I'm 25 years old and don't know what to do in my life. I have graduated from university last year with a 2.2 (UK grading system) in computer science. I haven't enjoyed much of my university life through those 3 years especially cause of the covid situation as most of my 3 years were all online and I wasn't motivated to really continue with the course at some point.
I don't think I had depression during my time in university but I never went for any check-up so I wouldn't know myself. I realized after 2 years in that uni or academics in general were not for me as I don't like studying at all, In the end I didn't learn much in terms of skills on the field that I studied but decided either way to finish my degree and at least get something out it.
My interest in IT at that point was fading, tried to apply for some IT positions but got rejected and this was 2-3 months after graduating. I den decided to get a job in the construction industry and the workplace is a school (I don't want to reveal my job role, not exactly proud of it...) I have been working there for the past 7-8 months, the salary is not great, I still live with my parents and I think I would barely survive alone. My new job is something that I didn't enjoy at first but as time progressed, I am now more confident and enjoying it for the most parts. I have also had a lot of positive feedback from both my colleague and staff members from the school and they are appreciating my work, I would honestly don't mind carry on for the long-term. I'm mentally doing better now than when I was at university and that makes me really happy.
My parents especially my mother doesn't like me working there as she thinks is too tiring, low income, bad job regarding society standard and obviously don't need a degree to get into it but you do need some training and knowledge. She is pressuring me to get a better job related to my degree at least and with a higher salary, but I honestly I haven't learned much in my 3 years in uni so If I tried apply and get interviews for IT positions I know I would fail them for sure. Yesterday I heard my mum talking with someone on the phone about my working situation, saying I'm not trying hard and lack ambition and even saying that our family and friends will laugh at me for the job I have and that was the sentence that upset me the most. (I don't care about what others think either way)
I always think of positive and negatives of my career situation, for example: I'm still young and have a whole life ahead of me, but also I won't staying young forever and need to figure out soon what I want to do especially since my parents are getting older.
Should I continue with my current job which I'm mostly happy about it, look for something else or continue with my current job until I figure out what other passion I have?

The Fae courts are heavily steeped in feudalism and feudal duties seem to be seen as magical law. Since harry is a the Winter Knight now I decided it would be a fun idea to look at all the obscure duties Mab and Harry owe each other through obligation now.
Alot of these are pretty obvious. Knights are obligated to preform military service for their lord. Not just personally fighting to but also raising army's to fight on their lords behalf. (Which I guess explains how Harry called up the banner in battle ground) he might also have to provide a squire at some point under his general military duties for Mab to train as the next Winter Knight.
Knights also hold alot political and administrative duties. Like being used as tools for political marriages. But Knights also serve as political advisors to their lords. Maintain castles and fortresses, and collect taxes.
Oh Harry also probably has to pay Winter taxes now to. Mab seems to charge taxes in children but Knight might have a different tax plan. There also is usually special taxes collected by the lord on special events like royal marriages. But a cut of that generally goes to the host. That could be interesting since Winter taxes do seem to be in children and the castle or the raith estate will probably be the venue for Harry's wedding.
As for what Mab has to give Harry. Lord's are required to house, train, and equip their Knights and their armies. (So that's why molly made the za lords guard full on battle gear) Knights who preform well for their lord also typically are given land of their own to govern (mabs assistance in stealing the castle comes to mind)
Essentially Harry probably can count on Mab for any new wizard gear he absolutely needs free of obligation as part of his existing deal with her, along with the protection of his family and those sworn to him. Of course mab might try to entice him to make further deals but based on her actions since Cold Days I sort of doubt that.

2024.05.17 08:43 TheBeeSovereign Windows 11 having weird freezing issues

Not really sure what the hell is happening. Normally I'd assume a virus or something but I've literally not downloaded anything other than regular patches for FFXIV/Honkai Star Rail or gone to a website other than youtube in weeks.
PC started by taking forever to load up websites or servers on discord today, which was not happening last night. Tried to run task manager but it wouldn't load, so I went to the Taskbar to search for it manually and windows search wouldn't load any results and just stalled out. So restart.
PC starts up, I immediately load task manager and the computer hands at 100% disk usage. Restart again.
This time I decide to wait for it to load everything up assuming I overloaded it somehow or whatever, but it freezes anyway except for my mouse.
I power cycle.
Starts up again, this time I head into my search for malwarebytes except the search window decides to hang and no longer reads keyboard input. Or mouse input. Everything else seems normal. Mouse LEDs are still going.
So we get safe mode. Safe mode won't pull up windows security (just loads a black window) and malwarebytes appears to not be on my pc anymore. Worrying.
System restore to last week, when it had no issues at all. Computer loads and acts as normal, but won't load up chrome or discord. Use edge to download Firefox and then try to reinstall Chrome, site takes weird amount of time to load. Try to search again and it hangs, no longer reading input.
No idea what's going on but I'd really like to not do a dull factory reset.
It's only about 8 months old, and its been working perfectly fine since I built it. This feels like a virus but I cannot imagine how it infected my system when I haven't downloaded anything weird or even viewed any weird ass websites. I keep adblockers on at all times and have defender running scans regularly.
EDIT: Noticed my cooler's LEDs aren't looping the way i have them set to do. When the computer freezes the cooler's lights turn off entirely.
EDIT 2: Let the pc just do it's thing for ~10 minutes and disk usage went back to 1% amd is responding normally, including cooler LEDs. I am at a further loss as to what's going on. It's never taken this long ti start up before, including literally 12 hours ago when I started it up last.

"I have been using the FIDA ABS leash 2-3x a day for a month now, and my recommendation is, IT’S WORTH IT. If you want to more info on why, I’ll delve into what our experience has been like using this with a 1.5yr old hunting-breed dog who can pull over 250lbs and can’t be trusted off-leash. We went with the XL even though our dog is only 65lbs, but it’s a good fit for us. However, I’m not entirely sure there’s any difference between L and XL other than price…
THE PRODUCT:
We have been putting this leash under serious strain, and I have been impressed to find that it holds up remarkably well - while still being lightweight and comfortable to use. In spite of my dog constantly catching and wrapping the tether on/around trees, rocks, and underbrush, there is not a single snag or stain on the fabric. I’m growing convinced that the only way to damage the nylon is to let your dog chew on it. Even though we never leave the leash out, unfortunately our mischievous pup still managed this once when the tether was hanging in front of his face and we were distracted. That did put a small fray on the edge where he gave it a few gnaws, but it has not yet deteriorated any farther. Because of its design, we have also never had a problem with the tether jamming during retraction - which is common with some other leashes. Even after a couple of rough falls onto concrete, there’s also no scratches or cracks on the handle.
Despite being a small person, I find the handle to be sustainably comfortable - even when using for more than 2hrs. Sweaty palms make the grip a little less secure, but that’s normal for any non-absorbable material. But even on the hottest day, it wouldn’t slip out of your hands. The Auto Break System is very helpful but not an end-all to lunging (if your pup is prone to doing that). It usually gives our dog another inch of leash per second of full-power pulling, but that at least gives me enough time to get my feet firmly planted, manually lock the leash, and expert a counter force to bring him to a full stop. If he dog started chasing something on a regular leash, it would typically take me about 10-12ft to make that happen.
THE EXPERIENCE:
For the most part, this lets our dog feel like he’s off-leash and isn’t too much trouble for the us to use as handlers (especially compared to a long line). I don’t need to write an essay explaining my reasoning for trying a retractable leash after training seven dogs to walk in-heel, but our current boy has some peculiar and extraordinarily strong breed instincts that need to be nurtured and not curtailed. That largely means letting him sniff / track as much as he wants while we walk, which we have found far easier to manage when he has 15ft vs 6ft. Like all methods that allow your dog more independence, this comes with some risks (like heading into streets without you or getting in peoples’ way) but these can be largely avoided with a basic “stay” command. Certainly, the risks of using this are nothing compared to letting your dog off-leash - even if you think they can be completely trusted. If anything, having a connection between you and your dog is always safer. And in the few moments I’ve had to quickly close the distance between myself and the pup, even grabbing and pulling the nylon tether on this leash wasn’t a problem. The only time I feel like this leash hasn’t been superior to a standard leash is when navigating dense foot-traffic (or if your dog is flailing around wildly). But thankfully neither of those things happens a lot, even though we live in San Francisco and sometimes have a wild hellhound on our hands."
