A95L or G3
Warning, long post I can’t make up my mind and I’m hard to be satisfied.
I have a LG CX currently. Bought an A80L because I thought it looked amazing in January.
Got it home (open box good deal) and wasn’t wowed like I was in the store. Sold it.
Bought a G3, 12 days later returned. I just didn’t see the wow as much as I did in the store.
All above are 65”
Said f it I’m done, tv’s just a tv, save some money and get a larger tv. Bought a x90L and it was bad out of the box. Absolutely the worst looking tv I had ever seen and looked nothing remotely close to what it should have. Saw every single pixel, gran turismo 7 looked like GT2 graphics. Returned after 12 hrs.
I have spent many months researching, going to stores, watching online videos, reading on here. I want to do this one last time and never walk into a Best Buy ever again.
After watching an interesting review of the a95l, g3, and some Samsung garbage, I wasn’t aware of enabling HGIG on the G3. It ended up showing detail in a video game that the a95l nor Samsung could display. However that was one part in a small section of a video that raised my interest in possibly getting a g3 again ($value for money)
I have a ps5 and although I play games more than watching movies, they are both equally important to me and I just want the wow factor all the time, not just some scenes or parts of a game.
When I watch the Sony HD content in the store on the a95l, I’m honestly wowed throughout the entire presentation. The g3 is only sometimes.
I do like the Sony OS much more, I like the warranty much more on the LG 5y vs 1y. I’m looking at a $1200 price difference. I’m not interested in spending more money outside of that price difference for extended warranties.
The pictures are of the a80L vs my current LG CX 3.5 years old. If I spend a95 money and have this type of quality, I’d be taking it right back once again.
Was considering getting the A95L today with a splitter and setting it next to the CX for a side by side comparison to help my head realize the difference is actually there and I’m not just trying to justify the purchase.
Although tech savvy, I’m not an expert on tv’s or calibrating. I just want something different than my CX and right now I’m not sure if it’s going to take the a95l or the g3 to satisfy me. Should’ve taken the same photo with the g3 but I forgot.
If you read this all, thanks and ahead of time, I greatly appreciate your input and time to reply.

2024.05.17 12:55 dtplabsservice INCLUSIVE EDUCATION: PROMOTING EQUITY THROUGH E-LEARNING LOCALIZATION

eLearning has become a powerful learning and professional development tool in today's rapidly evolving digital, political, and social landscape. To create a truly equitable learning environment, eLearning experiences must be designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind, ensuring everyone has the same chance to succeed. Inclusive design in eLearning focuses on creating courses that cater to learners' diverse needs and abilities, promoting a sense of belonging and engagement. In eLearning, inclusive design extends beyond meeting accessibility standards. Localization plays a vital role in crafting eLearning courses that connect with diverse audiences worldwide. By customizing content for specific cultural and linguistic audiences, developers can improve accessibility, engagement, and educational outcomes. This approach promotes inclusivity by making learning materials relevant to a wide range of learners and extending their global reach.
ENHANCING LEARNING FOR ALL ABILITIES
Organizations must offer accessible learning accommodations to assist millions of employees who are visually or hearing impaired. This need is not likely to dissipate: disabled individuals continue to enter the workforce in large numbers, and may remain in the workforce longer than their predecessors.Ensuring eLearning accessibility involves clear communication, readable color choices, subtitles, transcripts, and assistive tech like screen readers. It's essential for equal access to educational content, preventing exclusion, and fostering learning for all. Inaccessible eLearning materials can hinder people with impairments, impacting their education and job prospects.
THE TECH SPECTRUM: DEVICE COMPATIBILITY AND ACCESS
Localization extends beyond content adaptation to encompass eLearning platform elements like the user interface and interactive features. Seamless user experience across regions demands consideration of device compatibility, varying screen sizes, and internet speeds.
Ensure that your localized e-learning course is mobile-friendly, as many learners access online courses using smartphones and tablets.
Over half of global web traffic originates from smartphones, underscoring their popularity and widespread accessibility among the world's population. While considering the needs of desktop users, ensure your content is easy to read and interact with on mobile devices.
It doesn’t matter how well you’ve localized your content if your audience can’t access it.
VISUAL VERNACULAR: CULTURALLY RELEVANT IMAGERY AND DESIGN
Localization necessitates identifying and adapting certain images, emojis, graphics, and colors to account for their varied symbolic interpretations across different regions.
When culturally familiar and relevant terminology, images, and formatting conventions are incorporated into translated learning materials too, as is the case with localized content, students can even more effectively comprehend and process what they are being taught. Images, illustrations, photographs, and graphics should be localized to reflect the cultural norms and preferences of the intended audience. This might entail substituting or modifying current images to resonate with specific demographics. It's crucial to ensure that all visual elements are both inclusive and culturally relevant in this process.
SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONSIDERATIONS: ADDRESSING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE
One significant factor contributing to the widening of learning gaps during the pandemic-driven shift to remote instruction last year was the absence of high-speed internet access in numerous low-income or remote households.
Students need online learning content that’s accessible regardless of what kind of device they’re using or whether they have any learning disabilities. The content should be device agnostic, meaning it can be read just as well from any device — and it should be designed with accessibility in mind.
Equity in e-learning also involves addressing socio-economic barriers. This includes providing low-cost or free access to educational resources and ensuring that content is available in low-bandwidth formats for areas with poor internet connectivity.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, inclusive eLearning design ensures all learners have equal access to knowledge. Localization tailors content to specific cultures and abilities, while accessibility features cater to learners with disabilities. By making eLearning materials mobile-friendly, culturally relevant, and accessible regardless of device or internet speed, a more equitable learning experience can be created for all.

2024.05.17 11:56 severoon How to format a sheet for readability

Since I began contributing to this sub, I've noticed that almost all sheets, even the ones with a lot of data and complexity, aren't very readable. This is not unexpected, though … most people working with sheets are not graphic designers or user experience experts.
Though I too am neither of these things, I have worked on front ends on several projects and worked with some world-class UX folks, so I've picked up some tips along the way. I thought it would be helpful to describe my approach to formatting sheets to give an example of the kind of things that can help make data more easily readable. The idea is not that everyone should format sheets the exact way I do, but rather focus on the more general principles that don't even occur to most people.
Here's a new sheet with some fake data and minimal formatting.
Default formatting
The only formatting that's been done here is bolding the header row, applying default number format to the GPA column, and some column width tweaks. Not so great.
Before I start focusing on eye candy, the first thing I would do to a sheet like this is normalize the data itself. I would put different data in different columns. Specifically, I would split first and last names into different columns. An easy way to do this is select the column and go to Data > Split text to columns. Then, the last names need to be changed from upper case. To do this, insert a column right, then use the formula in C2: =PROPER(B2) and copy it down the column, select those properly formatted values and copy, paste special, values only over B2:B, and then delete the C column with the formulas.
The next thing is to make the column headers as terse as possible. It's preferable to use an abbreviation and move the full explanation into a note attached to that column heading. Also, I would not use initial caps on every word, it's not a title, it's just a heading. Finally, set the significant digits on numerical data. For the GPA, we're only tracking to one decimal point, so get rid of the second one.
Here's where we're at so far after fitting column widths to data:
After normalizing data
Now we can start on the eye candy.
I follow the Tufte school of table design, which means less is more.
First step is to get rid of all lines, colors, and text formatting (bold, italics, etc), and only add back formatting that actually makes the data more readable. This means turn off gridlines, no bolded headers. To make the data easier to follow, increase the font size one or two steps of the headers, and add back faint horizontal lines.
Next step is to align headers with data. Since numerical data is right-aligned, the headers for those cols should match. Also, all data on the sheet should be top-aligned except for headers, which are bottom-aligned. Also, let long headers wrap.
Give the tab a meaningful name. Keep it terse, there's no need for words like "info", "data", etc. Just say what's on that tab.
Finally, freeze header row and name columns (this makes the table easier to navigate on small screens, like mobile). Get rid of excess rows and cols. It can make sense to keep a handful of spare rows at the bottom, but once you have the basic sheet laid out there's not really a good reason to keep any excess cols to the right. When new columns are needed, you'll almost always be inserting them based on a current column's format anyway, so you won't generally want to just use a spare one off to the right. (if you didn't know, inserting a col left or right inserts it with the formatting of the col it's based on.)
Here's where we're at (I renamed the EC col and dropped its note):
Cleaner format
Now it's a good idea to go through the cols and apply explicit formatting. Set text cols to text, numbers to numbers, etc.
Add more formatting on the data. Change places to smart chips instead of just using state codes. Use people smart chips if possible as well. Change cols with limited values to dropdowns (Gender, Class). Do data validation on cols (GPA must be between 0 and 4 and Class rank must be greater than or equal to 1).
If there's a way to limit the values in extracurriculars, bring in another tab with all legal values and limit the values in that col as well. This will help normalize all of the data so that you won't see different ways of representing the same data ("Track & field", "Track and Field", etc.).
Finally, here's where we end up:
Final formatted sheet
This is a far more readable and information-rich sheet than where we started, and the data it contains is far more constrained so that any inconsistencies or irregularities will be marked with an error. This can now serve as a solid base on which to start building more advanced functionality. For instance, we could add a col at the far right and get the Google Maps URL for the home state if we wanted to by putting in I2: =H2.url. If these students had accounts in the same Google Workspace domain and they were representable using People smart chips, we may be able to extract a lot of information in the other cols that way.
Again, this isn't the end-all be-all for formatting, if you read Tufte's advice on representing richer data sets you'll find a lot more advice for formatting much more complex data and keeping it readable. But I hope this convinces some folks that even fairly simple sheets can benefit a lot by avoiding approaches that draw more attention to formatting than the data itself.

2024.05.17 11:04 inaveryrealway Looking for a compact camera with wireless transfer to iPhone

I have a young baby and I do not want them to see my phone as an object of interest, but I take a lot of photos of them.
I have a decent DSLR from when I was a hobbiest, but it’s too big for everyday use. It needs to fit in my pocket. My iPhone is just a 13 Mini, so I would like the quality to be at LEAST as good as that, however I know about and am happy to use post-processing.
I want to be easily able to transfer images every day to my phone, so wireless transfer would be great unless there is another equally easy option you can recommend. In built flash would be nice but not essential. Hot shoe not required. Good video would be nice.
Budget under $1000 AUD, happy to seek second hand. Thank you!

Understanding the target audience

Understanding the target audience is crucial for any business. It allows you to tailor your products or services to meet their specific needs and preferences. When it comes to event planning services, it is important to know who your target audience is and what they are looking for. One key demographic to consider is guarderías, or daycare centers. These establishments often require event planning services for various occasions, such as annual celebrations or fundraisers. By offering free banking services for guarderías, you can attract their attention and establish a strong partnership. This can include providing financial advice, assistance with budgeting, and facilitating transactions. By understanding the needs of guarderías and offering them valuable services, you can position yourself as a trusted event planning partner in the industry.

Incorporating relevant symbols and colors

When it comes to incorporating relevant symbols and colors into your event planning service website, it is important to consider the use of a point-of-sale system. A point-of-sale system allows you to efficiently manage transactions and payments, making it easier for your clients to book and pay for your services. By integrating a point-of-sale system into your website, you can provide a seamless and convenient experience for your customers, enhancing their overall satisfaction. Additionally, utilizing a point-of-sale system can help you track sales, manage inventory, and generate reports, giving you valuable insights into the success of your event planning business. With the right symbols and colors, combined with a reliable point-of-sale system, you can create a visually appealing and functional website for your event planning service.

These elements not only add a touch of mystery and intrigue but also convey the agency's expertise in solving complex cases. Additionally, incorporating the logo with the keywords 'National Association of the Self-Employed' can further enhance the credibility and professionalism of the detective agency. By doing so, potential clients can easily associate the agency with a reputable organization, instilling trust and confidence in their services.

Using colors and typography to enhance the logo's impact

When it comes to creating a logo for your detective agency website, using colors and typography effectively can greatly enhance the logo's impact. Colors have the power to evoke emotions and convey messages, so it's important to choose the right colors that align with the nature of your business. Typography, on the other hand, plays a crucial role in communicating the professionalism and credibility of your agency. By selecting the appropriate fonts and styles, you can create a logo that not only captures the essence of your detective agency but also leaves a lasting impression on your target audience. Investing time and effort into the design process will ultimately result in a logo that represents your business in the best possible way.

Ensuring the logo is versatile and scalable for different platforms

Creating a logo for your detective agency website is crucial for establishing a strong brand identity. However, it is equally important to ensure that the logo is versatile and scalable for different platforms. This ensures that your logo can be effectively used across various mediums such as websites, social media profiles, and marketing materials. When designing your logo, keep in mind the concept of SaaS success. SaaS success refers to the achievement of success in the Software as a Service industry. By incorporating this concept into your logo design, you can convey the message that your detective agency is equipped to provide cutting-edge solutions and deliver exceptional results to your clients. To achieve versatility and scalability, consider using simple and clean lines, avoiding intricate details that may not translate well in smaller sizes. Additionally, opt for a color palette that works well across different backgrounds and platforms. By ensuring that your logo is versatile and scalable, you can effectively represent your detective agency's brand and attract potential clients across various platforms.

Collaborating with Designers on 99designs

Posting a design brief to attract talented designers

To attract talented designers for your detective agency website logo, it is crucial to post a well-crafted design brief. Additionally, include any specific design elements or styles that you prefer. It is also helpful to mention any design inspirations or examples that resonate with your agency's image. By creating a comprehensive design brief, you increase the chances of attracting skilled designers who can bring your vision to life.

Providing feedback and iterating on design concepts

When it comes to creating a compelling logo for your detective agency website, providing feedback and iterating on design concepts is crucial. This process allows you to refine and enhance the initial design ideas to ensure they align with your vision and brand identity. One important aspect to consider during this phase is the meta description. The meta description is a concise summary of your web page's content that appears in search engine results. It plays a vital role in attracting potential visitors to click on your website. By providing clear and concise feedback on the design concepts, you can ensure that the final logo incorporates a captivating meta description that accurately represents your detective agency and entices users to explore further.

2024.05.16 17:17 aguynamedsly I can't seem to cope with my experiences, can anyone provide guidance?

Well, here I am. I've avoided sharing this for over a year, but I'm finding myself trapped - even though it seems like the strangeness has ended or gone covert - I can't seem to get past the experiences I had last year. I've held this all in since then, and it has to come out somehow.
It's really long. TLDR at the bottom.
February 2023
I picked a foolish battle with my employer - a large corporation known for poor ethics, corruption and crony capitalism. I went after them hard, determined to expose their wrongdoing, and got other ex-employees involved too. We went to the media, appeared on podcasts, but I was the one who took it too far. I flew too close to the sun and got myself in deep. My juvenile attempt at being some kind of brave robin hood hero got my colleagues and I tormented by private investigators. Everyone got followed, but only two of us seemed to have anomalous experiences, and I got the worst of it. They left my friends alone when they realized I was the one facillitating everything.
After being tailed home at 4am one morning, I immediately bought security cameras and set them up. You'd think I would've got the message and backed off, but I was angry over my privacy being invaded, and felt security with the support of my colleagues. I was determined to defend what I believed in, and I resented their brazen harassment and intimidation; it was clear they didn't mind using resources to spy on me. Maybe I shouldn't have spied on them.
There's a whole lot more to that nightmare, but I'm posting here for a reason. Because I can't think of anywhere else to get the answers I'm seeking. I need help, and I want to talk to experiencers who can help me make sense of what happened, hell, I'll even settle for advice on moving forward, and getting the past shit out of my head.
March-April
I started noticing anomalies on the cameras I set up. It was strange and got my attention, but very subtle at first; it was more confusing than anything. I should mention my lifelong interest in aliens and UAP, quite literally as long as I can remember; but that interest dwindled after my teen years. I'm almost 30 and have real life shit to worry about, clearly.
Not even a month later, things were getting weird. I saw orbs split in two and three, merge back together and go right through solid objects. Right in front of my house. This kind of activity began happening more frequently (or I became more aware), until one night I noticed a drone-like object following my car. I went home, and sure enough, it stopped over the street in front of my house. I realized this must be something supernatural, as it was similar strangeness to what I saw on my cameras. Splitting apart, dramatic color shifts, and just plain bizarreness.
I left for work the next morning, it was still dark, and the orb was still following me from a distance; it wasn't too close, but it definitely wasn't far either - it just seemed like it was continuosly locked onto me. By this point, I'm getting concerned, and as a heroic whistleblower committed to getting to the bottom of anything and everything, I investigated. I realized these things really were following me. So I started documenting. They would come out of nowhere and into my field of view. I'd be laying in bed, watching TV, and an orb would float between a small gap in the curtains where it was obvious and I couldn't ignore it.
By now I'm pretty worried about these ongoing events, but my curious cosmic side was intrigued. I didn't like what was happening, but I definitely found it fascinating and kind of cool. So I filmed. Every single day. I was followed by strange lights for six months straight, and it wasn't only happening at night.
I started seeing figures of light beings outside my house. Gray-type beings that looked like they were using magic or casting spells. I had never considered or believed in beings like this. I didn't really believe in demons, but that's the closest thing I can describe them as, like shapeshifting Jinn. But multiple types of entities, my house became a hotspot for strangeness I couldn't even fathom.
Many of the beings I filmed I noticed later when analyzing my videos. I would be filming one anomaly, focused on that, completely unaware of any activity right next to me. But I got better at picking them out over time. I was committed to studying my videos over and over, trying different color levels, shadows and contrast to better pick out the anomalies.
August
By now I had taken hundreds of videos on both my iPhone and security cams. I learned that my iPhone 14 had trouble capturing these things, even when they were stationary or nearby. My camera struggled to focus, and when I tried zooming in on an orb or entity, it would shoot my camera out of focus. I have some pretty cool shots of this happening. Whatever it was, it probably didn't care to be filmed. It was far too difficult to get a good shot. I have a solid phone model and was shooting in 4K; I would get a clear image, then try to focus on orbs/NHI, but end up with glitchy artifacts and static noise in my videos
September
I'll never forget the feelings and emotions I felt the next month. I was looking back at videos from April, and I found something I hadn't noticed from April 26-28. It looked like I was abducted. I filmed what looked like an arm come down from the trees, and it appeared to take me, or maybe take my 'astral' body? Then half of a gray's face briefly appeared in frame; it looks like the Gray on the cover of Communion.
The next video on my phone I didn't remember taking. Mere minutes later, it looks like I'm approaching a door I've never seen in my life, and my body goes right through it. Then I'm back in my house. It’s a short three second clip, but it was definitive proof to me that I experienced high strangeness, I just couldn't understand why. I still can't get it out of my head. Since then I've gone back and found more anomalies I had never noticed, and I'm really struggling with making sense of what may have happened. I don't get spooked easily, but I can't come to grips with this; I feel like I've been victimized, and I'm honestly traumatized just off the videos I took. I have no recollection of being taken or anything traumatizing happening. All I have to go off is what I captured, and the feelings I get every night when I go to sleep.
The blatant strangeness slowed down and had seemingly stopped by October, shortly after I retired from my whistleblower antics. The effects of whatever happened are with me every day. I think about it every day and night and fear it coming back. I wish I could have some level of closure, even if it isn't realistic.
Somebody here can help me. I'm certain the right person can make some degree of sense of the videos, and even a little bit of clarity would go a long way for me. What's more likely? Negative NHI harassing me for exposing corporate wrongdoing, or any NHI all of a sudden taking an interest in my everyday life? Is it possible for someone to weaponize paranormal forces against you? I truly don't know. I'm not satisfied with any of those possibilities.
The biggest thing I've grappled with is understanding the origins. Is it negative NHI being used against me? Could it be nefarious humans using advanced technology against me? Psychotronic weapons? How can you even differentiate?! I just can't tell. If you're an experiencer with an open mind and educated in different types of beings, please have a chat with me and look over my videos. I'd post them here but my house and my neighbors homes are visible in most of them. If you're just interested and want to take a look, I'll share a drive link with anyone, I just don't feel right posting these publicly yet.
TLDR;
Potentially harassed by negative NHI or advanced tech. Both are equally terrifying to me. Can't understand how or why this would happen. I'm seeking other experiencers with knowledge on different types of high strangeness, anomolous beings/interdimensionals.
Need guidance on moving forward if I can't find answers.
I have a bad feeling that somehow people did this to me. I really want to know if thats even possible. Thank you for reading :)

2024.05.16 13:23 Adventurous_Tip_7559 How to convince my dad about my relatives?

Hi im 19-M. My dad runs a family business w his older brother and his uncle(my grandfather’s brother). Though his brother does not contribute much to the business, He just provides raw materials to them and also sell those raw materials in the market and doesnt share the profits w them. Still my dad and his uncle decided to give him an equal share of profits from the business. The income is not really seperated and each household receives enough money to run. Though his brother’s family always took more money, they always begged to give him more. Recently my purchased a house in mumbai and all 3 members of the business decided to not have more expenses till 2-3yrs. But it has not been even 6 months when they bought 2 iphone 15 pro for their children(just to show off in front of their rich friends), bought a car worth 25 lakhs+extra cost due to installation of sunroof and other things(sunroof is banned in mumbai) and now their whole family is going to a foreign country for vacation(their 3rd foreign tour while the other 2 families didnt visit even one)but still idk my dad and his uncle are blind to say anything and whenever i talk to him abt that he just ignores and tries to change topic. And when i ask him to take me to a foreign country, he is saying next year-next yr since last 10 years. Thats not it, when i got 60% in 11th this year, everyone started scolding me, while his brother’s son FAILED 11th GRADE and had to appear as private candidate for 12th and his other son wasted a whole year preparing for jee and could not even clear jee mains or bits exams. Last year whenever there was a function in the family, he never came to any saying he is studying but no one knows what he did the whole year. But no one had audacity to say anything while their whole family mocks me and my sister. Now can you give any suggestions to stop this nonsense in the fam. Thanks

2024.05.16 06:16 Muted-Ad3567 Need to do 3D scans of pottery for AR project

Hi! I am possibly starting a project on some indigenous traditional potterys, very large ones, and we want to do like a digital museum kind of thing, with augmented reality where people can see the pottery like in a pokemon go kind of way. I know we would need to do photogrammetry scans, what would be the friendliest app for beginners that is also professional at the same time? I have experience with graphic design, and a fujifilm xt5 camera as well as an iphone 12. For the project, I would be able to invest in equipment too (good ring light, etc) I would really appreciate any recommendations

2024.05.16 06:08 Dicklefart Just tried the Apple Vision Pro today. Not impressed

Got an AVP demo at the Apple store today… and all I can think is thank God I saved my money.
I’ll start with the bad
Hand tracking has serious latency issues, q3 actually has equivalent or better hand tracking imo. I had quite a few missed taps and moving my hands around with something virtual tracking them showed that there’s at least 60-100ms of latency for hand tracking.
Eye tracking either has minor latency issues or the responsiveness of highlighting is messed up. Psvr2 has quicker and more accurate eye tracking imo.
The fov is god awful. I think my original vive had better fov, it can’t be more than 70-80 degrees based on what I experienced. You get used to it pretty quickly but there was major shock having played my q3 immediately before. Undoubtedly they play it safe with the closeness of the headset for demos, and this would improve from getting the lenses closer, but this was my experience and the lenses are very small compared to others on the market now. (Had to edit this)
The brightness is extremely lacking, pass through feels like you’re wearing sunglasses.
We’re still far away from “wow I can’t tell I’m wearing a headset” level pass through. They managed to eliminate the wavy outlines that occur in quest pass through when you hold your hand or phone up, but whatever they did to fix this made depth perception difficult.
3D videos taken on the avp look like they’re recorded in 720p, although the vids taken from iPhone were actually quite impressive.
The occlusion with your hands being visible in environments is the best I’ve seen, but it’s still far from perfect. Tons of edges peeking through.
It is wildly uncomfortable, major pressure on my forehead and considering maybe 100,000 people bought one at most, there’s not going to be any 3rd party facial interfaces.
Now for some good, I’ll give credit where credit is due. Resolution is stunning, best I’ve seen, but that’s also with a small field of view so…. PPD is artificially increased by that.
8k high framerate vr videos look AMAZING, this is the one thing i say they’ve done absolutely incredibly. Movies look good too and you can really see the detail.
Rendered things such as environments and the Dino demo look STUNNING like… as good or better than pc graphics.
The windows do stay put and the shadows are cool.
TLDR; it’s about 50% better than the quest 3 in terms of the overall experience, but 700% more expensive, and without controllers or games, they really shit themselves on this one. Tons of potential, most of it missed. I would not want to use this for anything productive, it’s majorly uncomfortable, and productivity is the only use case I could possibly see with this device. I’d maybe pay $300 for this, not 3500. For the price of a Varjo headset, I expect to be blown away at everything, but it’s just a good bit better than other hmds at certain things, and drastically lacking in other departments.

2024.05.16 05:03 Chance-Ground-2023 Where Can We Find Cumulative Frequency?

Cumulative frequency, the running total of frequencies in a frequency distribution, is a valuable statistic used in data analysis. It is commonly found in cumulative frequency distributions, cumulative frequency polygons, and cumulative frequency curves, which provide a graphical representation of the distribution of data. By examining these cumulative frequency plots, researchers can quickly identify the proportion of data points below or equal to a given value, making them essential tools for understanding the distribution and spread of data.

2024.05.16 04:54 fun_puffin mGBA Script Error w/ Save States?

TL;DR I have several questions on FLG RNG in mGBA:
  1. What does RAM address 0x040000A0 show?
  2. If the above is not the location of the timer corresponding to the game's initial seed generation, how would I view the actual location of 0x04000104 in mGBA's memory viewer?
  3. Why does Real96's script show negative advancements under certain conditions (e.g., loading to a state before initial seed generation)?
  4. Can these glitched advancements be corrected without restarting the game?
Post
I've been trying to enter the FLG RNG manip scene. Something I've been in interested in is figuring out how to manipulate the initial seed. I use mGBA and Real96's FLG script, since I've learned that it's much more precise than my old tools of VBA-RR and the pokemonstatsdisplay Lua script (shoutout to u/xPorki btw).
After an entire day of trial-and-error and digging around old forums, GitHubs, and Reddit posts, I learned that FLG does not create initial seeds the same way it creates what the script calls the "Current Seed." The latter is really just the PID. Before setting the initial seed, the script assumes a starting current seed of 0 and modifies it according to the usual algorithm cited here. Of course, the current seeds generated here don't matter. Once the initial seed is set, the algorithm restarts, passing that seed as the first value and iterating it to produce the PIDs. Moreover, there appears to be no relationship between the current seeds before the initial seed and the initial seed. (I literally wrote the current seed at every frame before the initial seed was generated to check—if a relationship exists, it's not as simple as taking some combination of the last few frames' seeds).
I've learned that FLG stores the initial seed in RAM address 0x0202000. To generate it, the game apparently uses an incredibly fast timer (according to this post and Blisy's page, much faster than 60 fps because it runs on processor clock cycles, not frame rates). This timer supposedly exists in address 0x04000104. I tried to investigate this location and ran into some problems...
First, mGBA's memory viewer only shows locations that are multiples of 10. Thankfully, this limitation includes addresses like 0x0202000 and 0x3005000 (where the current seed is stored in USA versions of FLG, at least according to Real96's script), but 04000104 remains elusive. I presumed the memory viewer binned addresses, such that any fluctuations at 04000104 would be captured by 04000100 or 04000110. At least, the viewer implies that's how it works: if I try to inspect 04000104, the viewer takes me to 04000100. But this address doesn't change. You know what does change, though? 040000A0 fluctuates wildly as the intro cutscene plays, at least as fast as 60 fps.
That said, 040000A0 exhibits some unexpected quirks. First, that address remains strangely quiet during certain portions of FLGs intro cutscene. For example, I've noticed that it'll read 0000 0000 0000 0000 during moments when the screen is pitch black. Other times, the address will be oddly regular, with readings like FEFE FEFE FEFE FEFE or even FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF. Given the former observation, I suspect 040000A0 has some relationship with the game's graphics. It also stays at all zeroes during the "Previously on your quest" scenes. Second, the address continues fluctuating after these scenes end and you can move around. I thought the timer influencing the initial seed was unique to that seed; shouldn't it stop once the initial seed is set? Lastly, I was not able to find any relationship between the initial seed and 040000A0's readings. For example, I once got an initial seed of 1FF9 and kept careful track of 040000A0's readings up until that point. 1FF9 did not pop up anywhere. In fact, none of the RAM addresses in the viewer window (which ranged from 04000000 to 040002A0 for me) seemed to match. It's possible that, since the timer supposedly runs far beyond 60 fps, the initial seed simply showed up at a pace that did not correspond to a specific frame. Searching the memory for the initial seed also brought up no locations besides the expected 02020000.
Eventually (and somewhat anticlimatically), I learned that you can just modify the initial seed directly using the memory viewer. Simply go to the initial seed's location, type the one you want, and you're done! Real96's script correctly displays the new seed. There is one catch though: its advances counter appears to suffer from some kind of integer overflow. For example, advance 41000 can suddenly become negative 4294926295. As you might expect, this glitch makes calibration much more difficult, as I'd have to track what frame I was on before the overflow occurred and do some extra arithmetic to determine what negative advance corresponds to the positive target (the counter appears to still iterate at the correct rate).
I tried seeing if advances, like initial seeds and PIDs, have a distinct location in memory. The script appears to calculate advances using the LCRNGDistance function, which passes in two seeds as "states." Based on some comparisons of these states, the function operates with RAM addresses listed in the JUMP_DATA hash table, meaning I'm out of luck unless I'm willing to do some serious math or programming. (I suppose that, in retrospect, the current advance obviously couldn't be stored in a single location because so many things can influence it.)
Interestingly, directly changing the memory is not the only thing that causes the script to experience overflow (or whatever that error would be—I didn't study CS lol). Back when I first started hunting for specific seeds (i.e., yesterday), I realized that if I make a savestate during the intro cutscene and load back to it after the initial seed has been set, the script will also show negative advances. My guess is the glitch has to do with the getRngInfo function, which resets the advance counter whenever the initial seed is equal to the current seed (which occurs upon resetting/booting up the game since both seeds are 0 at frame 0) or the temporary initial seed (which the script initializes as 0) is not equal to the actual initial seed (which happens the moment the initial seed is set). Because the counter was reset between the two states I loaded, it might have expected a different value than the one it received. Or maybe going from a post-initial seed state to a pre one in mGBA alters the memory such that it affects the JUMP_DATA and messes with LCRNGDistance's value.
Overall, I hope this lengthy post meticulously explained my thought processes, so a kind soul can see where my head is and try to provide some insightful advice on the questions I posted above.

Ultra Lag crashing since updating today to recent update/ iPhone X, is my phone to old?
Updated just before going out to walk, and suddenly it’s not loading properly, had to shut it down and reopen like 5 times before it loaded . it was also lagging badly while I walked and spun stops , I have iPhone X never had any issues before this very recent update. Stickers weren’t loading well either , and my phone was getting hot when normally it doesn’t.
All extra effects are turned off like AR and enhance graphics, reactive movement and native refresh rate.
But does anyone kno what refresh game data does ? Does it delete anything or sign you out ? Maybe if I press that it might help. Or I just have to wait for a different update I guess and hope it’s fixed .
I am soon able to upgrade my iPhone to iPhone mini 13 I believe I guess I may have to wait til I get a new phone but this sucks cause I just added more friends to my list, now they will have to wait longer for gifts cause the game is so laggy it’s almost unplayable.

2024.05.15 16:09 ExclaimerHelp Why do so many emails end up in junk?

1. Use of spam trigger words and phrases

Email content filters analyze every word in an email to see if it has common spam words. If your email has a large amount of spam words, the server will block your email or send it to junk folders.
There are certain words that will trigger spam filters, so it’s best to use these sparingly or avoid using them completely.

2. Unequal text-to-image balance

Email servers favor messages that have an equal text-to-image ratio. They don’t like emails that heavily feature images. Using more imagery than text will directly affect your email deliverability rates and make sure your messages go straight to junk folders.
Always include at least two lines of text for every image or graphic you put in your email. All images should have Alt text, and don’t use short URLs if you’re including hyperlinks.

3. Poor text formatting

Stick to using ~one font type~, one font size (below 12pt), and one font color. It’s fine to venture away from the standard black font, but don’t use multiple colors. Doing this is as bad as using spam trigger words.
Punctuation is also key; using more than one exclamation or question mark in the subject line or body of the

email is considered spam-like.

4. Not using a legitimate “From:” email address

It’s not recommended to use a free or personal email address like Outlook.com/Hotmail or Gmail as your “From:” address. Instead, use an email address from your organization’s domain. If you don’t want to receive lots of out-of-office replies, set up an email address specifically for marketing emails and send from this address every time.
It’s also best to avoid using email addresses that begin with ‘info’, ‘noreply’ or ‘sales’. These are seen to be generic, so they will often end up heading straight to email junk folders.

5. Bad HTML code

If your code is badly written with extra tags or was designed in Microsoft Word and then copied across, spam filters will be alerted. This will affect your open rates and it’s likely your email will be blocked.
To avoid this, you can use pre-made email templates or find an experienced designer to create a branded HTML email template with properly written code.

2024.05.15 15:10 Mephisztoe Tiles misaligned when using smooth camera movement interpolation / lerp / visual glitches

I am kinda frustrated at this point.
I am using Tiled for creating a Map.
I use Monogame.Extended.Tiled for importing and rendering the Map.
And I use MonoGame.Extended for a 2D Orthographic Camera.
I don't want the cam to just follow the player by "attaching" it to every movement, but rather have it really follow the player with a "delay" including acceleration and decelleration.
This is my setup:
protected override void Initialize() { // TODO: Add your initialization logic here var viewportAdapter = new BoxingViewportAdapter(Window, GraphicsDevice, 320, 180); camera = new OrthographicCamera(viewportAdapter); camera.LookAt(player.Position); graphics.IsFullScreen = false; graphics.PreferredBackBufferWidth = 1600; graphics.PreferredBackBufferHeight = 900; graphics.ApplyChanges(); base.Initialize(); }
Updating all stuff, including interpolation of the cams movement:
protected override void Update(GameTime gameTime) { if (GamePad.GetState(PlayerIndex.One).Buttons.Back == ButtonState.Pressed Keyboard.GetState().IsKeyDown(Keys.Escape)) Exit(); player.Update(gameTime); tiledMapRenderer.Update(gameTime); Vector2 delta = player.Position - camera.Position - new Vector2(152, 82); //Distance from player to cam camera.Position += (delta * 0.08f); //Move the camera by 8% base.Update(gameTime); }
And finally Draw stuff:
protected override void Draw(GameTime gameTime) { GraphicsDevice.Clear(Color.CornflowerBlue); var transformationMatrix = camera.GetViewMatrix(); spriteBatch.Begin(transformMatrix: transformationMatrix, samplerState: SamplerState.PointClamp); tiledMapRenderer.Draw(transformationMatrix); player.anim.Draw(spriteBatch); spriteBatch.End(); base.Draw(gameTime); }
While this works in a way that the camera nicely follows along the player, this results in visual glitches.
For a couple of seconds - when walking into one direction - everything looks nice, then, suddenly, vertical or horizontal lines appear between the tiles depending on the direction the players moves to. These lines disappear as soon as the player stops.
I took screenshots of this effect and put them on top of eachother in Gimp and noticed, that the tiles don't correctly align when these lines appear. It is as if the tiles are rendered with one pixel space in between when this issue happens.
Well, I do actually know how to get rid of this:
My rounding the cameras position right before drawing and restoring its original position right after, these glitches are basically gone:
protected override void Draw(GameTime gameTime) { GraphicsDevice.Clear(Color.CornflowerBlue); // Backup the current camera position Vector2 oldCamPosition = camera.Position; // Calculate the rounded camera position camera.Position = Vector2.Round(camera.Position); var transformationMatrix = camera.GetViewMatrix(); spriteBatch.Begin(transformMatrix: transformationMatrix, samplerState: SamplerState.PointClamp); tiledMapRenderer.Draw(transformationMatrix); // Restore the old camera position (for pixel-perfect rendering) camera.Position = oldCamPosition; player.anim.Draw(spriteBatch); spriteBatch.End(); base.Draw(gameTime); }
However, since I am working with a lowres viewport, and now fixing the cameras floating point vector position to integer values, 1 Pixel equals 5 Pixel on my render target (since it is 5 times larger) and thus this rounding results in a jittery movement of the cam (which appears to be jumping in 5 Pixel steps now).
So I am wondering:
How do achieve a smooth moving camera with NO visual glitches? :)
