Peniaga tempah kuih muih set pagi2, untuk letak dekat kedai or restaurant so diorang ada side dish/dessert after main meal.
After closing, once they see the goods unsold, they returned it back to the pakcik/makcik yang buat kuih and they had to refund the money back to peniaga
Why is this?
Actually what literal jamban behavior is this?
Those makciks only get couple of ringgit selling it, penat2 masak, jual, dah dapat duit, tiber2 kena refund unsold sold products. The food already a day old, no longer fresh and wont survive another day in the freezer. They sold these kuih back as if its in the same condition as it was first bought. Scummy practices at its best. These makciks also dunno how economics work, they need to reject these refunds and strong together from letting peniaga scam them

I'm from Selangor (30M) .. been living in Sabah(Kota Kinabalu) more than 3 years here..
The thing that I cannot tahan here is the foods.. Thing is, every foods looks the same just like in my hometown, but the taste is incredibly different..
From burger, cakoi, kuih muih, nasi goreng..
In here they don't know what is Maggie Goreng Mamak, aq selalu pulak makan ni dekat hometown which is my parents home..
Ada yang sedap, but as for now I just want to talk about what I don't like πŸ˜…
Is anyone here from peninsular but menetap here?

Due to how Islam work, not only Muslims cant eat pork, any food that is cooked using the utensils that had contact with pork before is absolutely off the table, even if any of the food is halal, and we have tons of food that doesnt contain pork
Chinese household generally just dont really have a seperate kitchen utensils for non pork stuff unless the family has vegan, or the family operates halal business
one of my malay friend came to visit me during CNY and I cant even let him enjoy Hotpot(even if Im willing to cook another version that is porkless),ε›’εœ†ι₯­(something like group family dishes), or just some chinese kuih muih because who knows how halal arr the utensils to make those. I have to order domino pizza to compensate for that. Kinda a shame that we cant really eat at the same table

Hi fellow Malay brothers and sisters, I'm a non in a Chinaman SME company so since I have joined the workforce I've been noticing in Malay meetings, the host company would always prepare local delicacies such as kuih muih, nasi lemak, fruits, and snacks on the table and we would discuss and eat at the same time.
It's not a huge conference but just a small business meeting between vendors and one of the government agencies. In Chinese business meetings most of the time they only serve bottled water. So I'm just curious why Malays especially GLCs always prepare food on table during business meetings?
