I recently had the chance to test out the Readywares Waxed Canvas Duffel Bag on a camping trip, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The first thing that caught my eye was its timeless design and high-quality waxed canvas construction. It's no wonder this bag has a rating of 4.7 out of 5, as users consistently rave about its craftsmanship.
Before my trip, I was a little concerned about the stiffness of the waxed canvas, but it quickly softened up as I loaded it with my camping gear. I particularly appreciated the padded handle and base support, which made carrying the duffel bag comfortable and easy, regardless of how heavy it got.
The storage options in this Readywares duffel bag are quite impressive as well. With multiple compartments, I had no trouble keeping my items organized throughout my trip. The only downside was the lack of an interior pouch, which would have been beneficial for smaller items.
In conclusion, the Readywares Waxed Canvas Duffel Bag is a reliable and stylish choice for anyone in need of a high-quality carryall. Its craftsmanship, storage options, and overall size make it a perfect companion for various activities, ranging from weekend getaways to camping trips. However, it could benefit from the addition of an interior pouch to keep smaller items secure.

The weatherproof fabric is reinforced at all stress points too, making it incredibly sturdy. Plus, the fully zipped compartment offers ample space to store larger items without any hassle.
A standout feature is the heavy-duty, full-length zippers that can handle oversized and bulky items with ease. The soft and ultra-reliable cotton carry handles equipped with a Velcro tag for quick lifting and carrying add convenience. And let's not forget about the adjustable, removable padded shoulder strap for maximum comfort.
The bag's versatility is another significant highlight. Whether you're going camping, using it for gym storage, or during your daily commute, the Hoplite Duffel Bag adapts seamlessly to all your needs.

I recently found myself in need of a reliable and spacious bag for a camping trip, and that's when I came across the YoKelly 36 inch Canvas Duffel Bag. I have to say, this high-quality canvas duffel has been a game-changer for all my outdoor adventures since then. I was initially skeptical about the capacity given its light weight of just 1.2 lbs, but boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise.
This Deluxe Canvas Duffel Bag truly delivers on its promise of a spacious 100L storage capacity, making it perfect for travel, camping, fishing, and sports as well. The high-quality canvas ensures durability and the solid stitching provides extra strength and resistance against wear and tear. Its dimensions of 36x13x13 inches are just the right size for packing all my essentials without feeling bulky or cumbersome.
However, one minor drawback I noticed is that it only has one compartment for organization. While this didn't cause any major issues during my camping trip, I do wish there were additional pockets for smaller items to keep everything more organized.
Overall, the YoKelly 36 inch Canvas Duffel Bag has made my life so much easier and more convenient, offering ample storage space in a lightweight, durable, and versatile package. If you're on the hunt for the perfect travel, camping, or sports bag, I highly recommend giving this duffel a try.

When I first laid my eyes on the Rothco Gi Style Canvas Double Strap Duffle Bag, I knew that it was a perfect match for my travel needs. This military-inspired bag checks all the boxes for durability, ample storage space, and versatile carrying options.
Made of 22 oz heavyweight cotton canvas material, it's been built with utmost durability, making it the go-to option for all your long and short trips. The generous dimensions of 22 inches x 38 inches allow me to pack plenty of clothes and gear effortlessly.
I especially love the adjustable shoulder straps and the sturdy handle for conveniently carrying it like a suitcase or a backpack. This flexibility gives me the freedom to pack even more stuff while ensuring comfort on long commutes.
The additional side pocket with a snap closure is a bonus for keeping small items or travel documents organized and easily accessible. I've been using this duffle bag for everything from overnight trips to the gym and it has exceeded my expectations in every way.
However, some users have reported a strong odor upon receiving the item. This can be a bit off-putting, but a couple of washes usually do the trick.
The Rothco Gi Style Canvas Double Strap Duffle Bag is a smart buy for anyone looking for a reliable, large-capacity bag made from high-quality materials. Its versatile design, durability, and practical features make it an ideal choice for all your travel adventures.

I recently got introduced to the Steeletex Gym Bag by Steele Canvas, and I must say, I've been thoroughly impressed with its performance and quality. The first thing that caught my eye was the unique construction material - it's not your regular canvas or nylon bag. This one has an antimicrobial vinyl coating that not only provides water resistance but also ensures easy cleaning.
One of the standout features of this bag is its size. It's perfect for holding all my gym clothes, sneakers, and even my favorite water bottle. I've been using it regularly since I got it, and it has shown no signs of wear and tear yet.
Speaking of which, the durability of this bag is another highlight. The 18.5 oz. antimicrobial vinyl coated nylon liner is not just water and tear-resistant, but it's also treated with BACshield, which ensures that mold, mildew, fungi, or bacteria don't get a chance to grow.
The Steeletex Gym Bag also comes with a couple of convenient pockets - one inside and one outside. These have been incredibly useful for keeping my belongings organized.
As for the design, the black leather hand grips add a touch of class to the overall aesthetic. Besides, the adjustable shoulder strap ensures comfort even during long gym sessions.
However, there's one thing that I would've appreciated more - if they had included a mesh or ventilated pocket for storing wet clothes or shoes separately. This would have made the bag even more versatile and useful.
But all in all, I've been thoroughly happy with my Steeletex Gym Bag. Its durability, size, and convenience make it an excellent companion for my daily gym visits. Plus, knowing that it's made in America by hardworking American craftsmen adds an extra layer of satisfaction to my purchase. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality gym bag.

First off, picture yourself embarking on a weekend getaway with nothing more than this trusty Trailmaker duffel bag at your side. The 30-liter capacity ensures you'll have ample space for all your essentials - be it clothes, shoes, or even your favorite dance attire for weekend classes! And don't worry about wearing it out yet. This durable canvas bag is built to last, so you can make countless travel adventures with it.
One thing I noticed about this bag is how versatile it really is. Not only does it serve as an excellent carry-on for flights, but it proved to be quite handy for daily trips to the gym as well. Its lightweight design ensures easy portability, especially when combined with its adjustable shoulder strap. Plus, the simple yet elegant design pairs well with any outfit, whether you're dressing up or down.
However, there are some cons to consider. Some users reported issues with the quality of the bag, particularly the zipper which tends to jam often. The lack of compartments inside can also lead to a messy bag when overstuffed. However, considering its affordable price point and high ratings among users, these minor drawbacks seem overshadowed by the overall positive experience most reviewers have had with this bag.
Overall, the Trailmaker duffel bag is a reliable choice for individuals seeking a spacious, durable, and affordable bag for travel, gym use, or everyday needs. Despite some reported issues with the zipper and lack of compartments, the majority of reviewers seem satisfied with their purchase, highlighting the immense utility and convenience offered by this bag.

🔗Classic Vintage Duffle Bag

I recently had the chance to try out the Sweetbriar Classic Weekender Duffel and I must say, it's been a game-changer for my travel needs. The moment I laid my eyes on its vintage-inspired canvas design with retro rucksack vibe, I knew this bag meant serious style.
One of the features that really stood out was its spacious interior. It comfortably fit all my essentials for a weekend getaway, including clothes, toiletries, and even some extras like a small travel pillow. Speaking of extras, the bag has several pockets both outside and inside, which are perfect for storing smaller items like wallets or keys.
Another thing I appreciated was how easy it was to clean. I'm known for being a bit clumsy, so accidents are inevitable. But with this duffel, a damp cloth was enough to wipe away any spills or stains.
However, there was one issue I encountered. The zipper closure, while sturdy and secure, was a bit tricky to navigate at times. It took me a few attempts to get it right, which felt a little frustrating.
All in all, I'm quite satisfied with the Sweetbriar Classic Weekender Duffel. It's stylish, practical, and well-built, making it an ideal choice for short trips or gym sessions. It's definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a new bag.

🔗MOLLYGAN Large Capacity Canvas Gym Bag

https://preview.redd.it/dyutqkh6gb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be53c4b16e4f4756fc1e97e0a390a28a28ed4a06
I've never been the type to travel lightly - I've always packed everything but the kitchen sink. But recently, I stumbled upon this MOLLYGAN Travel Duffel Bag, and I must say, my travel game just leveled up! The black exterior made it perfect for both genders, but what really caught my eye was the superior-quality, soft and smooth canvas material.
The structure of this bag is quite impressive too. The side zipper pocket provided a separate space for my shoes (goodbye, smelly gym bag! ) whereas the spacious main compartment and small zipper pocket proved that even though the bag was large in capacity, it was well-organized.
Its 35 liters capacity was more than enough to accommodate all my laptops, A4 books, clothes, and daily essentials. Whether going for a leisurely trip or a hectic gym session, this bag had my back. Measuring 18.8 x 10.2 x 11 inches, the bag was just the right size for convenience yet offered so much space.
However, the product did have one hiccup, the shoulder strap. It was long and adjustable, but at times, it felt a bit too long, and the handles could have been a tad longer, making it a little harder to carry around.
In conclusion, the MOLLYGAN Travel Duffel Bag has undoubtedly improved my daily travel experiences. With its large capacity, durable construction, and ample organization options, it has become a necessity for my daily activities. While it could do with a few adjustments (pun intended), it has nonetheless proven to be a reliable companion.

🔗Military-Grade Canvas Duffel Backpack

https://preview.redd.it/mw7zj5w6gb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8834e11142011dbcdc59b5b3aca467f7739586cd
I recently embarked on a weekend getaway with just the Military Duffel Backpack in tow. The modern green color added a trendy touch to my outfit, and upon closer inspection, I could see that the canvas duffel was indeed made of high-quality, water-repellent material. I felt confident that my belongings were well-protected, even in a sudden downpour. The adjustable shoulder straps came in handy as I traversed through the crowded city streets, allowing me to find the perfect fit and distributing the weight of my stuff evenly.
One feature I particularly appreciated was the heavy-duty cross-stitched carrying handle. I found it incredibly useful when I wanted to switch up my carrying style and convert the backpack into a traditional duffel bag. The stainless eyelets and rugged buckles made the whole process incredibly smooth and secure.
However, I did encounter a minor issue with the top clasp that held everything closed. It was slightly smaller than the holes on the flaps, so the bag wasn't completely sealed. While this didn't affect its overall performance during my trip, I did have to exercise a bit more caution to prevent anything from slipping out.
To sum it up, the Military Duffel Backpack is a reliable and fashionable bag that offers ample space and thoughtful storage options. The canvas material ensures durability and water resistance, while the adjustable straps offer comfort and convenience. Although the top clasp could be slightly improved, I would definitely recommend this backpack for travelers and everyday adventurers alike!

I've been using the Kindfolk Yoga Mat XL Duffel Bag Mesa for a few weeks now and I must say, it's been a game-changer for my daily yoga practice. The highlight of this bag is undoubtedly the ample amount of space it provides.
After spending days googling 'XL yoga duffel bags', I finally decided to give this one a shot when I saw that it could fit multiple yoga mats, blocks and towels - and boy, was it true! I've never been able to bring everything I need to the studio or gym with such ease.
Another thing that I absolutely love about this bag is that it's vegan and environmentally friendly. As someone who's conscious about their impact on the environment, knowing that I'm using a product that aligns with my values gives me peace of mind. Plus, for every unit sold, Kindfolk donates $1 to FITS STANDARD, a charity that helps end slavery worldwide.
However, one of the cons I noticed is that the straps could be slightly longer. While it's not a deal-breaker for me, it can be a bit cumbersome when carrying it on top of everything else.
All in all, I am thrilled with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to others. Not only is it spacious and stylish, but it also feels well-made and of high quality. For those looking for a reliable and environmentally-friendly bag for their yoga practice, the Kindfolk Yoga Mat XL Duffel Bag is definitely worth considering.

Now, every time I strap this canvas bag onto my shoulder, I'm reminded of its many merits. It's the perfect blend of practicality, durability, and visual appeal. However, some users may find the strap too long or the lack of waterproofing a concern. But for me, these minor quibbles don't detract from the overall quality and utility of this amazing gym bag.
In conclusion, the Vagabond Traveler Casual Canvas Bag has become an indispensable part of my daily life. Its combination of space, organization, and style makes it the ideal choice for anyone looking for a reliable gym bag that's both functional and fashionable.

One of the key features I truly appreciated is the nickel plated zipper and pull, making it easy for me to secure my belongings without any worry about potential malfunctions. Steele Canvas has truly created a high-quality, durable bag that is sure to withstand the test of time.
Despite the minor inconvenience of needing two hands to secure the zipper on the outside pocket, I believe this duffle bag is a perfect addition to my travel collection. As a product reviewer, I recently got the chance to try out the Medium Duffle Bag in black, and my experience has been nothing short of exceptional. I've been using it for everything from weekend trips to gym sessions, and it's truly become a staple in my daily routine.
The bag's most striking feature, hands down, is its heavy-duty construction. Despite its size, the bag is surprisingly easy to carry around. Reinforced handles and adjustable shoulder straps make sure that I can handle even the heaviest loads comfortably. Plus, the two-way zipper and key-locking mechanism offer extra security for my belongings.
However, one small area of improvement could be the weight of the bag itself. While it's definitely not a deal-breaker, considering the durability and high-quality materials used, some users might find it slightly heavier than desired.
All in all, I'm extremely satisfied with my Medium Duffle Bag. Its combination of sturdy construction, versatility, and ease of use make it a worthwhile investment for anyone in need of a reliable bag for travel, sports, or everyday use.

2024.05.19 07:02 Swiftsession Fear of wounds getting worse

I have some form hemophobia. I do not fear blood from things like nosebleeds, in fact until recently, the only thing that disgusted me was bleeding from the fingers, for some reason. But now bloody wounds in general in other areas of the body make me feel light headed, and I’m not just talking irl but pictures of them, I’m in a job where first aid is important and I felt vaguely sick doing the online course after a while. Seeing a picture of just one wound I’m fine with but one after the other, as well all the talk of insertion wounds and blood gushes seriously made me feel light headed but I got through the course. A few weeks later I went to a practical in person first aid course, the trainer bought up a list of the sorts of wounds she was going show us, she said that we could excuse ourselves if we wanted, I did not do this because I thought my Hemophobia was mild, plus it would be embarrassing, the first would was around the eye, it was pretty gross but I’ve seen worse pictures, but then I thought of all the other wounds she was going to show us, and I begun to feel extremely light headed and nauseous, I told myself that nobody was going to force me to look at the rest of the pictures I could just look at the desk, but that did not make me feel better I just kept feeling worse until it felt like I was falling asleep, everything was black and didn’t know where I was, suddenly it felt like I was falling backwards extremely fast and and being dragged trough rubble, when ‘woke up’ I was on the floor extremely confused and distressed, with my eye hurting like hell, and everyone telling me that I had, had a seizure (I had never had one before) I had gone tense and unresponsive, my eyes rolled back, then I started spasming, my eye hit the edge of the desk on the way down, thankfully I wasn’t seriously injured and just had a black eye. At the hospital the doctor told me my bloods and brain scan didn’t suggest that suggest that I had, had a seizure and that I may have just fainted, I looked it up online and apparently occasionally fainting can cause involuntary movement and be mistaken for a seizure, but even if it actually was a seizure, funnily enough before wounds we did a section on seizures at the first aid course, so I know seizures can be caused by stress and anxiety, and I was anxious about the prospect of seeing more wounds as well and being anxious about how other people in the room would perceive me if they saw me reacting strangely to just some picture. Now I’m very worried that seeing wounds on courses and irl will make me faint, vomit, or even have a seizure.
To those who have suffered from blood/wound phobias any tips on how to overcome it?
And to those who have any kind of phobia in general, are there any of you who at first had a mild phobia but then it suddenly got a lot worse for unknown reasons?

2024.05.19 07:00 DryCarob8493 Help Needed: Choosing Between Home Study and Hostel Life for NEET Preparation

Hey everyone,
I recently took the NEET exam for the first time and it looks like I scored around 400 marks according to the answer keys. I've been studying online from home, but now I'm in a bit of a dilemma.
During my drop year, I'm planning to take some online classes and join the NEETprep offline test series. But here's the catch: the nearest test center for the series is a whopping 120 kilometers away from my place. My home is pretty chill for studying – it's quiet and I have all the amenities I need – but the downside is, I don't have anyone around me who's also prepping for NEET or JEE. Yeah, it's kinda rural where I live.
So, I'm considering heading to Ranchi, which is the closest place where the test series is available. But here's the kicker: the hostels there are way too pricey (9000), and I'm not sure if my family can afford it without feeling the pinch, we are not well off.
Now I'm stuck between two options: should I try to convince my family to cough up the cash for hostel expenses, or should I just stick to studying from home and make the long trip whenever there's a test? At the beginning, the tests are only once a month, so maybe it won't be too much of a hassle. But then again, I'm worried I won't have that competitive vibe that keeps me motivated throughout the year.
Any advice or suggestions would be super helpful!

2024.05.19 07:00 Moochi_The_Mad_Cat Discussion about breaking system......and seeking opinion about putting 2 brake calipers 1 disc?

Prologue :
So let's talk about breaks today. I'm a member of an Indian FS team and we failed the break test in our last competition. There are a few factors we considered why that happened:
but the thing was during our testing before event, in our college campus, the breaks were locking consistently but those test were on wet tyres and it slipped our mind the dry tyres will obviously behave differently.
Further Investigation :
so after all this i came to a conclusion that we cannot trust our tyres. Doing the calculations after taking highest recommended values for tractive force/contact friction b/w tyres and track (rolling frictional coeffi. of 1.5-6) just to make sure that in any track condition our theory won't fail because of unpredictable tyre behavior.
The domino effect :
with this new assumption we found out that our front wheels will never lock with the current setup of our break system. Now the new problem was to find new calipers that can fulfill our needs. We have been using Vespa KBX break calipers for both front and rear, the specs of these calipers are very similar to the willwoods GP200 calipers at a fraction of the cost. But now we had to look for 4 piston calipers for front (Vespa didn't cause any problem at the rear) and the only options i could find for 10" rims were 4 piston calipers by AP racing and ISR brakes. Both of them had excellent results in calculation but the price tag of both of them were way out of our budget.
and a month back our vehicle had an accident when our driver decided to perform break test, the speed was a little higher than expected, the rear locked successfully but the front didn't and the driver lost control causing the car to spin out and hit a tree.
Yup now it's a critical failure.
A radical idea :
I want to put 2 calipers on each of the front disc and i need as many fresh opinions i can get. If i use 2 Vespa calipers on each front wheel the i get almost same performance i would have gotten from 4 piston ISR or AP calipers, again at a fraction of the cost.
Nothing major will change during the design process i think, and i can't confirm it but i think placing 2 calipers diagonally will lead to even distribution of stresses as compared to using 4 piston but it might have a completely opposite effect cuz in case of 4 piston the disc will have "some" time to cool off before coming in contact with pads and in 2 caliper configuration that'll not be the case. would love to hear your thoughts on this.
some vehicles do use dual caliper configuration but the purpose differs, some manufacturers use 2nd caliper as parking breaks but a few use them for active breaking.
I accept that the brake line might became a mess but that shouldn't cause any issues in the functioning of the brakes.
This seem like the best possible solution given the constraints we have but my team seniors don't support the idea and they can't argue with my logic and that has made me even more confused.
Help me please! I might be missing something and i want your opinion on this. please share your thoughts and lets discuss it.
TLDR:
Front wheels not locking, current 2 piston caliper won't work for the front, 4 piston calipers needed but way over budget, using two of 2 piston calipers give same results as the 4 piston calipers, please share your opinions on why the heck will this not work.

So my question is this. How many of you practice in groups vs. solo practitioners. And how did you find your groups? I see a lot of people here but not much online as far as openly luciferian people or organizations.

2024.05.19 06:53 AdInteresting2401 Don't let that bougie doctor get you down mama bear!💪 "Leaky gut"

"There is a test available that shows whether an individual has intestinal permeability. It works by measuring levels of two indigestible sugars, mannitol and lactulose, in the urine. Most physicians do not use this test and research shows that it is not very reliable. As we mentioned earlier, there is no evidence that intestinal permeability causes any disease; be wary of anyone who claims that it does. Some unscrupulous individuals are even selling these tests to consumers online. Using this test to diagnose leaky gut syndrome would be like ordering a test to look for blood in the stool of someone with IBD and using a positive test result to ‘prove’ that the bloody stools caused some other mysterious disease that in turn caused the IBD. We already know that bloody stools are a symptom of Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, just as we know that intestinal permeability is a symptom of some diseases such as Crohn’s disease and celiac disease.
Proponents of leaky gut syndrome might also misuse tests that look for bacterial, fungal, or viral infections, or tests that measure immune function, to ‘diagnose’ the disorder, when there is no evidence that the results are in any way related to this baseless ‘syndrome’."
"Whatever you hear in the media, the fact remains that there is no quality research to support the existence of ‘leaky gut syndrome’. The situation becomes especially dangerous when you consider that the symptoms associated with this disorder are present in a number of other illnesses, so a quick diagnosis of leaky gut is more likely to leave patients untreated for what really ails them.
Many people are eager to believe that leaky gut syndrome is a valid illness because it seems like an answer to many of their health problems. When you really think about it, one diagnosis that explains arthritis, IBD, skin problems, fatigue, and more seems fictional. Even more unrealistic is that all of these symptoms will go away if the patient just takes a few supplements and avoids certain nutritious foods.
It is important to use critical thinking when faced with a potential diagnosis that isn’t backed by scientific evidence. You have to wonder why there are no reliable studies that show evidence of leaky gut syndrome (especially since it supposedly affects so many individuals), why people are so quick to diagnose an unstudied disorder, and why the only way to ‘treat’ this disease is by taking expensive supplements or modifying your diet to remove multiple food groups.
Many practitioners who diagnose patients with leaky gut syndrome claim that a lack of adequate studies does not mean it doesn’t exist. While this could be possible, diagnosing and treating a disease that we don’t have evidence for can be dangerous, which is why the medical community uses such rigorous testing to scientifically support any new diagnoses, medications, or treatment plans before recommending them to patients."

2024.05.19 06:51 epiccabbage123 review of every professor i've had at BU

now senior so i thought id take a look back. most TFs or lab instructors missing bc i don't remember them and never attended most office hours.
Courtney Martin - FY101 freshman fall. utterly useless class (was an undeclared major so took it hoping to get some guidance, basically got nothing out of it.) very chill instructor though, no issues there, just waste of time.
Scott Possiel - WR120 freshman fall and WR152 freshman spring, grad student teacher. pretty chill and class was interesting (mediterranean religion [roman religions]), learned strong amount about writing. no complaints, hope he's on to great things.
Alexander Nikolaev - CL/208LX208 freshman fall. awesome class on zoom, funny and knowledgeable dude, learned so much about about indo-european linguistics, and sparked basically all my interest about linguistics. assignments were fun and refreshing. one of my favorite professors at BU despite only having had one class with him, unfortunately he disappeared (left?) after 2020 and I have no idea why, nor did any of my classmates. lucky to have had his last BU class in first semester of freshman year.
Christine Papadakis - CS112 freshman fall. her ratemyprofessor 1.9 score says enough, bad at explaining topics, strange class vibes, pretty unhelpful. seems like a nice person though. main reason i did not continue with compsci after 1 semester at BU, class wasn't too difficult (got B+ and could have done better if i tried harder) but it was so utterly boring it was the dread of every week and genuinely difficult to find any will to do work for it. lectures were insufferably boring, especially on replay when studying. avoid her at all costs.
Edward Loechler - first half of BI107 freshman fall, BI108 freshman spring? (i remember him and spilios teaching some class together or two part or something). chill old man vibes, class was solid and well taught. don't remember anything else except no issues. recommend.
Kathryn Spilios - second half of BI107 freshman fall. chill professor, class was solid and well taught. don't remember anything else except no issues. recommend.
Leah Kronenberg - CL102 freshman spring. awesome professor, very kind and good at teaching. recommend
thomas keyes - CH101 freshman spring. worst professor i had in all of BU hands down. so utterly useless and incompetent his syllabus was barely even divided into paragraphs, just a spam wall of text. lectures monotonous and uninteresting, bad at answering questions, mean to students, generally seemed like he was on the verge of suicide or homicide or both at any given moment. thankfully he retired so i do not have to say avoid him at all costs.
special shoutout to Alyssa Kranc - TF for CH101, grad student. actual angel sent from heaven to guide the class thru the horror that was CH101 with thomas keyes. great at explanations, patient, and brought good vibes. i actually really liked chemistry and it was only thru Alyssa's help and lab review meeting things that I learned anything in this class and got an A. Hope she is onto greater things and epic research.
jane x. luu - AS102 sophomore fall. chill professor, kinda made class easier as time went along when she realized nobody really gave a shit about the subject and was just there for hub or get chance to look thru telescope. actually discovered some really awesome things in her research (the kuiper belt). was visiting professor so dont think she'll be back.
brandon jones - CL101 sophomore fall. awesome professor, good lectures, chill guy. recommend.
john thornton - HI175 sophomore fall. boringest history lecturer ive ever had, quiet so had to sit in the front to even hear him (maybe cuz covid masks everything was quieter). chill guy, easy class, probably cooler to talk to at office hours than for survey history class. recommend.
cathal nolan - HI284 sophomore fall. Lowkey kinda pompous guy, but classes were always insightful and really felt like attending a speech notsomuch a lecture. history of war class was one of the few classes where i felt like i really gained wisdom and not just knowledge, but also fell short of my expectations at the same time if that makes sense. pretty easy if you like history / are good at writing. needs to learn how to use slides though lol, windows photo app on USB stick photos can only last so long. recommend.
Christopher McMullen - FY102 sophomore spring. genuinely do not remember a single thing about this class or professor. pretty sure we unironically did a meyers personality test thing, hilarious waste of time. or that was in FY101.
hannah culik - CL237 sophomore spring. very kind professor, learned a lot in the class. 0 official dealines so u can turn in everything late but i do not recommend leaving it all to the last minute. pretty political charged, but i think in an engaging way. she left BU but i would recommend if she were still here.
simon payaslian - HI176 sophomore spring. felt like high school class but i guess that's how history survey courses go. chill dude, kinda tough grader? dumb assignments. average lecturer. recommend.
bruce schulman - HI231 sophomore spring. very kind professor, i turned in my final research paper like a week late LMFAO and he still accepted it (with some completely justified points off for lateness of course). good lecturer. recommend.
Christopher Daly - HI231 sophomore spring. kind professor chill lecturer some course as schulman (double professors). retired, otherwise would recommend.
Alexis Peri - HI200 sophomore spring, HI272 junior fall - one of the best professors at BU hands down. kind but pushes you to truly learn. writing excelled under her and i felt i improved my overall skills as a student / scholar in every way. she grades easier as class goes on. genuinely proud to have achieved in A in both her courses, pushed myself to get there. maybe a bit too much class discussion for my tastes though, i don't really enjoy sharing out. recommend.
shoutout to Margot Rashba, TF for HI272. helpful explainer since I couldn't go to professor Peri's office hours due to time conflict. hope she is onto great things.
christopher Backman - HI101 junior fall. chill professor, class pretty boring but funny lecturer. completely ghosted my email sent in next semester discussing my idea for senior thesis lol, and wasn't at the office hours listed on website, idk what happened. apparently went on leave after some controversy regarding speech. so yeah lol. recommend.
Stephanie Nelson - CL161 junior fall. awesome professor, kind and fun class. recommend
Timothy Clark - CL162 junior spring, CL322 disorganized and seems like he didn't really care about the class tbh, but overall chill guy. really likes parthia and didn't really care about Rome at all. dumb assignments at times, but he did have no issue with me consistently missing a language class day to to schedule conflict without issue, which I appreciated. don't recommend.
eugenio menegon - HI363 senior fall. hard to explain but going to class just felt... uncomfortable every time? does lot of cold-calling. lecture was kinda boring, didn't learn very much, felt more like a high school survey class of china than a 300 level class on ancient China. covers way too long a time period in too little detail. dude seems pretty chill though don't recomment.
christopher ell - CL300 senior fall. very boring lecturer but he clearly does try to make it funny, which is appreciated. chill guy, some leniency on scheduling and assignments, very clear about all his instructions and overall taught well. very fair and no conflicts at all. enjoyed his class. recommend.
spiridon-iosif capotos - CL261 senior fall, grad student teacher. hilarious, deadpan dry humor. fun class, learned a lot of greek, hope he is onto great things. recommend
simon anderson - SY101 senior spring. chill guy, class not the most useful but was alright. not really that indepth, prob waste of time could've learned everything reading online guides. instructor was fine though, no issues.
hannah kloster - CL262 senior spring, grad student teacher. awesome and kind instructor, very fun class, learned a lot despite having no interest in Greek poetry. hope she is onto great things. recommend.
jilene chua - HI500 senior spring. very kind professor, chill class and great vibes, but too much discussion for my taste. new professor to BU, had her on her second or third semester teaching as professor ever (i think); class was kinda unorganized or ad hoc at times. will only get better as time goes on. recommend.
stephen scully - hi406 senior spring. no interest in the subject (iliad translations) when i joined class and minimal interest in the subject as I leave the class (and BU). chill professor, but grades harshly and requires a lot of writing. cold calls often. class was also quite unorganized for entire first half. in terms of material, honestly a lot of stuff in class felt quite arbitrary in understanding (as is probably the case with most literature classes, which i did not take outside of this). recommend if you really love classical literature / mythology / philology (or anything humanities), don't recommend for classical history (or anything social sciences).
Rui Hua - HI364 junior fall, HI370 junior spring, HI553 senior fall. the most energetic, fun, chill professor i've had at BU, every lecture was a blast and even if i went to class in a bad mood it was impossible to leave without a smile on my face. took us on field trips to relevant destinations when possible. I had the first 3 classes he's ever taught as a professor ever (I think), and it definitely showed bc they were somewhat unorganized or ad hoc. but i am sure his teaching will only get better as time progresses, learned a lot and had a great time in all his classes, he does cover some overlapping material in them so if u take them u might repeat some stuff. also super lenient on deadlines but i do not encourage delaying all of them to the last minute as I did like an idiot. easy classes overall, but if you like the subject he definitely is encouraging for those who want to learn more. recommend.
Loren J. Samons - CL321 junior fall, CL303 junior spring, CL202 senior spring. best professor i've ever had at BU, hilarious, funnest lectures of all time, learned so much, and brings so much old man sardonic energy to every class. CL303 fall of roman empire another class where I felt I genuinely attained wisdom and not just knowledge. assigned readings are some of the few I actually did. class might be difficult if not ur a good writer / not a social sciences person, but u'll definitely improve if you take the effort to do so, otherwise easy class got As in all of them. very straightforward. recommend.
feel free to ask individual questions about any of these professors / instructors in comments.

2024.05.19 06:49 AdInteresting2401 Don't let that bougie doctor get you down mama bear!💪 "SIBO"

"The increased availability of noninvasive breath tests, each with limitations, has led to widespread testing for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) in patients with non-specific gastrointestinal complaints. The lactulose breath test (LBT) is based upon an incorrect premise and therefore incorrect interpretations which has resulted in the over-diagnosis of SIBO and the excessive use of antibiotics in clinical practice. Despite limitations, the glucose breath test (GBT) should be exclusively employed when considering SIBO in appropriately chosen patients. This review suggests guidelines for the optimal use and appropriate interpretation of the GBT for suspected SIBO. The LBT should be discarded from future use, and the literature based upon the LBT should be discounted accordingly."
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33037967/
.
"Official recommendation for the test is based on conflict of interest. The companies that produce the tests as well as antibiotic manufacturers influence and sponsor doctors and support the changes in guidelines, so at some point they were recognized as the new standard4. That's the short version."
"Until recently, the current gold standard for the diagnosis of SIBO was a bacterial culture from the patient's small intestinal aspirate (a sample taken from a portion of the upper to middle small intestine during endoscopy). But most bacterial strains require unknown growth conditions (and strict exclusion of oxygen) and therefore cannot be cultured, leading to false negative results. In addition, this method is expensive, invasive and therefore complex and risky for the patient and requires an experienced gastroenterologist.
Most studies today that report SIBO in patients with IBS are therefore based on the results of glucose and lactulose breath tests, which measure the amount of hydrogen and methane in the breath produced by bacteria after digestion of ingested fermentable sugars.
This method is indirect and does not allow quantification of bacteria.
Glucose is normally absorbed in the small intestine, but if SIBO is present, the theory is that the bacteria should produce detectable gases that can then be detected in breath. The glucose-hydrogen breath test is more specific but not very sensitive (so it is difficult to detect); the lactulose breath test is very non-specific and will detect anything.
This has consequences for the test results and also for the patient. Depending on the test, between 4-60% of IBS patients are SIBO positive. At the same time, however, up to 34% of healthy people also have a positive test result. The high range in IBS patients and the high proportion of positives in controls casts doubt on the validity of the tests: in fact, almost 50% of tests have been shown to be false positives3. Scientists therefore say:
SIBO is overdiagnosed and causes confusion and anxiety in patients (Massey et al. 2021)"

Been using two horizontal expansion tests, they are producing very different results, are they even relevant to calibrating my printer?
Hey all, been using these two tests to calibrate my printer for dimensional accuracy.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4766295
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3535060
Left test is calibrated, right one is a total failure
So far, every time I tried to get one calibrated perfectly, the other one will stop producing desirable results, I started to think about it and I thought these tests may not even be a suitable calibration tool, after all, it seems as though horizontal expansion is not applicable to all prints, someone let me know how I can better calibrate my printers dimensional accuracy.
One thing I tried so far is using "Outer walls before Inner" in Cura, and it makes prints much better for dimensional accuracy, however it creates some weird artifacts in the outer walls, see the first picture, however this only occurs around the Z-seam, and I can't find any solutions online. I totally get that outer walls before inner will compromise beauty for dimensional accuracy, but is there any way to fix this?
The other side, away from Z-seam looks decent.
Anyway thanks for reading, let me know what you guys think.

Just need to renew. Soon. I prefer to do it one on one because of classroom anxiety. This is how I’ve done it in the past. Unfortunately I’m no longer in contact with that proctor. Will pay extra. The online proctor test gets interrupted to many times to concentrate.

2024.05.19 06:42 Old-Comfort2607 Chance me please :)

Hey All,
I hope you’re having a great long weekend. I’ve read through this forum and the admission pages and think I have a decent shot. I plan on applying through Equity streams where available (Black applicant streams).
My top choice is uottawa and second is Alberta. I also plan on applying to Osgoode, TMU, Queens, Usask, UBC, Uvic, Ucalgary (maybe cuz I’ve had awful experiences there), Western, Lakehead.
My B2/L2 is 3.8 and my Cgpa is 3.1. My sorts include neuroscience research publications, running a community center, varsity athletics in university, team lead on a research team currently, and coaching championship football for many years.
I’ve been practicing for my LSAT and I actually really enjoy it. I’ve done a long standardized test before so I understand not to get too high on myself and not too low during the preparation process. I am aiming for 170 and I believe I can get it.
So what do yall think my chances are? Edit: plan to write lsat in September

2024.05.19 06:42 Zestyclose_Theme9830 Tips for getting to 173+ for August LSAT

Hi y’all! I’m getting desperate so I would really appreciate if y’all could give me some pointers:
I am scoring between 170-172 on my practice tests. For LR I average about 1-2 wrong and for RC I average about 4-5 wrong. I plan to take the test August and I would like to score at least a 173. However, I am aware that most people do worse on the real thing so I would ideally like to start getting my scores consistently above 175+. I work a full time job so I only have time to study about 15 hours per week. Does anyone have any tips/is this even a possible goal.
