When i change the creation date on the photo app or my iphone, and then import my photos on my mac, i lose modification of the date. Why ? App photo ios -> app photo mac and date modification are lose..

Following this bug report (https://github.com/golang/go/issues/65169) that states it is a problem with Apple's linker I added the flags -ldflags=-extldflags=-Wl,-ld_classic but this did not work on MacOS 14.4 or 14.5; the classic linker isn't available on 14.5, btw.
Does anyone of you had the same problem and a solution?

Some of you saw my last thread about treating the computer as a "research device" and the smartphone as a "notification device".
But in order to be able to do this, the computer's and smartphone's layout must look so alienated and non-personal that we don't even want to use it for other stuff than work
So, how could we achieve this? What would be your ideas for a boring, professional, business-like computer and smartphone layout?

Computer: macOS 12.3
Smartphone: Android
The reason why I want them to look more business-like is to reduce screen time and addiction. Basically, I came to the conclusion that in order to break free from internet addiction, you need to treat your computer as a "research device" and your smartphone as a "notification advice".
So with having this in mind, how would you change your computer's and smartphone's layout in order to make it look as professional as possible? So alienated and non-personal that I don't even want to use it for other stuff than work?

My iMac is at the point where if I am using it for a while and/or if I start downloading something; it will disconnect from the internet. I will have to turn off the wi-fi for a second, reconnect and then after a few seconds it does it again.

I've found it's a problem when I'm using yt-dlp to download something in terminal. I think terminal is a big trigger for this issue.

I turn off my VPN, I try to resume my internet-ing; still, same thing happens. I don't know if it's just from downloading something or maybe if my computer uses a lot of its power on something.
It'll get to the point of disconnecting where all the wi-fi networks shown will disappear for a few minutes. I just have to sit and wait until they come back and try again.
I suspect it may have something to do with 'SystemUIServer', even though I'm not sure what that is. In my heart of heart's, I know it has to do with all the icons on the top right.
Or MAYBE my Mac is so old that it's gotten to the point where it does this from how old it is and Apple likes money and wants you to spend money to upgrade. That's why I'm not able to upgrade my OS past High Sierra. Sorry I'm not part of the Bezos family, Woz.
Please help me. I'm dying of sadness and I don't know what's going on.

Q: Hello! Who are you and what product are you working on currently?

I'm Daniel Nguyen. I'm an entrepreneur based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I've been building multiple products: KTool, BoltAI, PDF Pals

Q: What is your backstory and how did you come up with your idea? Do you have any partners?

I've been a product engineer for more than 12 years. Then one day, I discovered Indie Hacking and found it fascinating. I quit my cushy job to start building in public.
I decided to learn more about generative AI & OpenAI API and hopefully find a good freelance gig. I did land a couple of interesting gigs, but what is more interesting is I found a new product idea: BoltAI - a better way to use OpenAI & other AI services on macOS. I started it purely to learn more about SwiftUI development & OpenAI app development (the so-called "AI wrapper"). It's now my top revenue-generating product.
While building BoltAI, one customer asked about the ability to chat with PDF natively on Mac (another "AI wrapper" idea). I found it interesting and so I decided to build it. PDF Pals recently reached 700 paid customers (about 23% of my total revenue in 2023) And finally, I built ShotSolve as a lead magnet for BoltAI (engineering as marketing, or side project marketing). It was welcomed by many Mac users and so far, has brought 1500 visitors to BoltAI.

Q: Take us through the process of building the first version of your product MVP.

When I started, I didn’t expect BoltAI to be commercially viable. It comes from my pet peeve of switching back and forth between ChatGPT web UI and native Mac apps like Xcode or Apple Notes. Unlike VSCode, there is no Copilot for XCode and I have the habit of writing blog posts in Apple Notes so I figured I need a tool to invoke ChatGPT right within these apps. So I decided to build the MVP in a weekend. The app was ugly but I managed to ship it anyway.

Q: How did you get your first customers for your product (Free or paid users)

I tweeted about it, and posted it to multiple communities asking for feedback: IndieHacker, Reddit, WIP… It went semi-viral and early adopters started to use the app. I got valuable feedback and improved the product accordingly. Some of them converted to paid customers.

Q: Since you launched your product, What has worked to attract customers

Doubling down on what works mostly. That's social media (X/Reddit), email newsletters, and paid ads.

Q: How is your product performing currently, and what are your plans for the future? Can you share your current metrics and revenue figures?

BoltAI is doing great. I plan to support business customers better, and will kind of "pivot" into B2B. Currently, most customers of BoltAI are prosumers: freelancers, developers, or content writers. I believe it would be much better if I could sell directly to businesses.

Whenever I plug my iPhone to sync with iTunes, I get a prompt on my Mac that a system update is required. However, the Mac is running the latest update of macOS Monterey (12.7.5). Then, if I press ignore, the iPhone is unmounted and then instantly remounted.

I am someone who just get his foot into basic coding and programming. Did some Python and now C and just finished my Data Science bootcamp and completed my CCNA (out of curiosity ) and Cyber Security short course certificate with TP. I am 23 years old with 5 Os and 2 A levels ( A in both Further math and Mathematic -Private candidate ) I love Math haha but did horribly in my GP (d) Completed my NS 2 years ago and working as a full time Math tutor at a local private institute .
So ya the Laptop I am using now is an old Lenovo with 8gb Ram and 256 SSD i5. It seems okay for now but I have to return it to a friend.
Since I am going to start my SIT CS degree the next 3 years I clearly need to get a better laptop. On a budget and not wanting to get any brand new ones as my older brother and sisters will give me 5 k if I graduated so I can get a brand new laptop haha, not a rich family at all just supportive and trying our best for each other.
Before you advise me and help me out on the specs please bear in mind and consider that I am not a gamer or collect photos or videos so this upcoming laptop is only for learning Programming/Coding/ etc and not wanting a Mac as I have a Mac mini for my Logic Pro music project and wants to use a Window laptop for my budget reasons . My hobbies are music production editing classical music and I love higher math ( completed CET in undergraduate Math with SUSS )
So here's my option . An older cousin is selling his Lenovo 7th gen i7 Thinkpad X1 Carbon for only $380 ! The price is family price lol and I think I saw he put on Carousel for 600-700
i7 -1050 , 16GB Ram and 512 SSD , Windows 10and Its like totally brand new condition ! he bought it years back on impulse and the battery is impressive ( toyed with it for a day ).
Will this laptop suffice for my next 3 years SIT CS journey? I have no intentions of storing videos or gaming etc absolutely nothing so strictly for SIT CS.

I haven’t used my Mac (MBA M2) for a while so I’m wondering if I should update it

Hi all, I’m currently planning a trip to Oregon for the first time at the beginning of June and a big part of my itinerary includes Crater Lake. I planned to spend 2 full days there to get ample time to enjoy the landscape but after reading some threads in this subreddit, I’m starting to wonder if I should reorganize things. I would love to see the lake, but I’m aware rim drive and north entrance are closed for the season. Does anyone know if it will still be closed the first week of June? Will the snow make any worthy viewpoints inaccessible? Is there any hiking trails that would be open? I just want to know if there’s much to do to warrant the lengthy trip there. Any insight would be appreciated, since I know every year is different.

I can't get air drop to work.
I have air drop on the iphone and ma
I see the iphone from the mac
I right click on the file I want to air drop and select share
then air drop and I see the iPhone, I click on it then click done...
but nothing happens on the iPhone.
Am I supposed to be in a certain app on the iPhone to receive the file?
Is there something about compatability that I can check?
I'm 12.6.2 on the mac and latest OS on the iPhone 11.

I recently got a dual cpu 5,1 tower. Have always wanted one of these. However I have no intention of running MacOS on it. I went ahead and pulled the included drives, installed Linux on a drive I had. It doesn’t boot, get the no os to boot error. Do I still need to set up either clover, refind or open core to boot my distro? Have some experience with those things, used to run a 2016 mbp with Windows and egpu. Tower also came with a native Mac Pro card. Any help/direction is greatly appreciated.
