Lately I wanted to finaly play Pokemon Gold emulator on my phone, but to spice it up a little I wanted to make it a bit more difficult and interesting for myself, so I'm gonna try to make it into a modified Hardcore Randomizer Nuzlocke! Sadly, since I don't know how to actually randomize a game, I'm gonna try to achieve a similar outcome with cheats and a random number generator site.
I would like to ask for opinion and advice regarding stuff like if my rules are resonable for Pokemon Gold and won't go against the way progression, mechanics and locations are structured in this game, or if the way I want to handle item and trade evolutions sounds balanced.
So far the rules of the playthrough include:

1. Basic nuzlocke rules.
   
2. No use of items in trainer battles, but allowed in pokemon encounters.
   
3. Level caps set to next gym leader's ace or the third elite four member's ace.
   
4. The number of pokemon you can have in the gym is restricted to the number of pokemon the gym leader uses. The levels of your pokemon as you enter the gym should mirror the gym leader (e.g. you can only take 2 pokemon to Violet City gym, one at level 7, one at level 9). Pokemon are allowed to level up past the level cap in the gym itself.
   
5. Pokemon encounters are chosen via numbers generated from 1 to 117, which correspond to a base form of every pokemon line excluding legendaries. The number is generated as soon as you have your first normal wild encounter in the location. Then you must encounter the randomized pokemon of the same level as the wild encounter. The pokemon encountered might be evolved if the level of the encounter allows for it. That includes trade evos, but not stone evos (but I'm not sure about that rule).
   
6. When facing a static Legendary, generate 3 numbers and choose one of them, then proceed with the encounter against the randomized pokemon in place of the legendary.
   
7. No fishing encounters in places, where no other way of encounter is possible.
   
8. You can't leave a location until you finish it, after which you unlock it and can explore freely. To finish a location, you have to either:
   
9. get to another entrance to the location that leads to a town or a place with a pokecenter (e.g. if you enter route 30 from Cherrygrove City, you would have to cross route 31 and get to Violet City to finish the location. After that you can enter and exit the routes to heal or buy items and reenter the routes 30 and 31).
   

• Beat the boss of the location or finish a story beat found there (e.g. to leave a gym you must fight the gym leader, or to leave the Sprout Tower you have to face sage Li).
  
• If the location has no story beats or doesn't lead to to another location (like early game Dark Cave) it's considered as unlocked you can exit and reenter it freely
  

Also, since trade evolutions are normally impossible and evolution stones are very hard to get in Johto, I thought about making these pokemon evolve at certain levels instead. It would go like this: - Jigglypuff and Sunkern evolve at lv20 - Pokemon with one stage that evolve via evolution stones evolve at lv28 - Pokemon with two stages that evolve via evolution stones evolve at lv34 - Pokemon that evolve via trade with a hold item evolve at lv34 while holding the needed item - Pokemon that evolve via trade without an item do so at lv42
I'm not sure if these levels are too high or too low, since the entire Johto region operates on low levels and I want to make use of these evolutions, but I don't want them to be broken :P
What do you all think about this set of rules? Does it sound reasonably hard but fun? Do you have any ideas for improvement? Would love some feedback!

the main thing that gives me the ick about her is that she has a "situationship" with a guy in our class even tho she has a boyfriend of 7 years!! apparently they recently confessed feelings for each other, keep in mind my friend is 17 and the guy is 22!! they have been flirting since the start of the school year and they have been involved with several issues because a lot of people are speculating nga that she's a cheater. her boyfriend approached us one time to ask for advice on how to deal with the other guy, one thing led to another, she said she cut ties with the other guy but she's still flirting with him, sitting on his lap, hugging him before he leaves and watches longingly as he closes the door, etc. she constantly tries to convince everyone that she is not cheating on her bf and that her bg is fine with her and the other guy... honestly does she think we're stupid enough to believe that????
recently she's been acting up tho. idk she made one draft for the design of our class panel board and she's proud of it (even tho it's just meh) and can't stop bragging that it looks soo good. i understand its just a light joke but its been days and she's still mentioning na "i should join visual arts/creatives because my design looks so good guys" because no one is agreeing with her LMAOO. she never stfu about how petite she is and complains that everything is taller than her (fishing for validation, like how tara yummy acts lol). a while ago she distributed math papers and she gave my first paper -- that has a perfect score -- with a scowl on her face, not looking at me. when she gave my second test paper has a low grade, she inspects it for a while and mumbles something, then gives it to mewith eye contact HAHAHA fuck off inggitera. i could go on and on and on about what pisses me tf off but this will take forever lmao tahimik na lang me for now. 💖

This is a technique I made a really long time ago that I finally wanna share with people lol. This technique was created as the Inherited Technique to a custom clan I made.

Name: Cursed Armoury
Description: The Cursed Armory is a technique that gives the user access to a collection of 10 Special Grade Cursed Tools. These tools have existed since The Yamato period. But over time, their shape has changed to match the more modern era. This technique can only be possessed by one person at a time, due to there only being 10 total weapons. More weapons can also be added, so long as the user is capable of creating them.
Abilities: These 10 tools are the following.
-The Wrecking Rod: A fishing rod with an extending line (up to 100 feet) that allows the user to trip up their enemies and attack from afar. In its earliest iteration, the Wrecking Rod was actually a rope called The Divine Rope. The line is extremely durable, being a Special Grade Tool.
-The Jumping Ball: A steel ball that bounces like it's made of rubber. The more it bounces, the stronger it becomes. In it's Yamato-Period form, The Jumping Ball, was actually a paper talisman, capable of moving on its own, known as The Crawling Talisman. The ball can increase to a point where it can dent steel, and it bounces infinitely until its stopped.
-The Sword of Seals: A Wakizashi that has the power to absorb Cursed Techniques and then unleash them back at the user's opponent, with their power decreasing a bit. This sword can only seal one technique at a time, and the technique must be unleashed within 30 seconds, or the weapon will damage the user. This is one of two tools that has remained the same since the Yamato Period. It cannot seal entire Curses. Additionally, it cannot be used to seal the Techniques of enemies significantly stronger than the user.
-Fūjin: A Sensu fan with a red tether on the butt. This is the newest weapon in The Clans arsenal, having been created during The Golden Age of Sorcery. This fan allows the user control over the winds. Allowing them to create powerful gusts of wind, cutting wind slashes, and walls or shields of wind.
-Smash Hammer: A giant hammer that's larger than the user. The more attacks this hammer lands, the more damage it does. While this weapon was always a hammer, the name was changed by the current user. The Power of this hammer is enough to cave in brick walls.
-Guitar Hero: An electric guitar that releases Cursed Energy every time it's played. When it was first created, the Guitar was a Taiko Drum. As the years have gone on the weapon has also taken on the form of various other weapons, like a Shamisen, or a Violin.
-Devil Bringer: A glowing mechanized arm that can punch Cursed energy attacks back at the user's opponent. The more this arm is used in succession, the less effective it becomes. After 6 uses, the arm loses its effect for the rest of the day, but it does still enhance the user's strength.
-Gungnir: Gungnir is a spear coated in Cursed Energy, and explodes with Cursed Energy when the attack lands. It can duplicate up to six total times, with the explosion becoming weaker with every duplication. This caps out at 1/6th of the total power of one. New spears can be formed anywhere within 20 feet of the original. The original is strong enough to pierce steel.
-The Wonder Gun: The Wonder Gun is a flintlock-style pistol that can fire pure cursed energy. The gun can be charged for up to one minute. And when it's fully charged the bullet fires at the speed of sound and is capable of destroying cement walls with ease. Its first version was a bow and arrow with the same effect.
-The Divine Staff: The most treasured artefact belonging to The Kamisato Clan. This staff allows the user to create light-based attacks that can cut through Cursed Techniques. These attacks can only damage Curses.
Strengths: Each of the items can match a certain scenario.
Weaknesses: Each weapons summoning eats away at Cursed Energy. And the more that are summoned at once the more draining it is.
Additional Notes: This technique has a binding vow in place, the weapon drawn is randomised. Meaning, the user cannot pick which weapon they use. This in turn strengthens each individual weapon.
Domain Expansion
Name: Turn-Based Frenzy
Base Technique: Cursed Armoury
Ability: This is a rules-based domain. The idea is that both the caster, and anyone tapped in the domain, need to take turns attacking (like a Pokemon Battle). Both participants have 10 HP while in the domain, and whoever runs out first is given a negative status effect, such as blindness or the loss of their Cursed Energy. This effect is decided on by the caster of the domain. After 5 turns the status effect ends, and the caster regains all Cursed Energy and is free to recast the domain.
The combatants can't use their Cursed Techniques or Cursed Energy to fight. Instead they need to use one of 10 weapons granted by the domain. They can also choose to attack when it's not their turn, but they will be punished for cheating in that case. Each of these weapons deals a set amount of damage. In order to land a hit in this domain the combatants need to roll a d10. The weapon's damage and needed rolls are the following.
The Wrecking Rod. -The Fishing Rod deals 1 damage. And you need to roll higher than a 1 for the attack to land.
The Jumping Ball. -The Ricochet Ball deals 2 Damage. And the user needs to roll a 2 or better.
The Sword of Seals. -Deals 3 damage. Needs a roll of 3 or better.
Fujin. -Deals 4 damage. Needs a roll of 4 or better.
The Smash Hammer. -The Smash hammer deals 5 damage. And requires the user to roll a 5 or better to land a hit.
The Guitar Hero. -The Guitar Hero deals 6 damage. But the user must roll a 6 in order to hit.
Devil Bringer. -Deals 7 Damage. Needs a roll of 7 to hit.
Gungnir. -Deals 8 Damage. Needs a roll of 8 to hit.
The Wonder Gun. -Deals 9 Damage. Needs a roll of 9 to hit.
The Divine Staff. -Deals 10 damage. Needs a roll of 10 to hit.
Weaknesses: As a rules based domain, it lacks a sure-hit effect. But as an additional note, the technique also affects the caster. The caster is fully capable of losing the turn-based battle, and suffering the negative effects of the domain.
Appearance: Both the caster and victim are placed across from one another. Above each of their heads is a health bar that reads 10/10. Along with that, they also have an interactive menu in front of them.

Honestly the only thing I can say about this ability that I'm not happy with is that I now know who Kite from HxH is. Meaning that I can never call this an original ability again without someone telling me that I just ripped the ability from HxH, and that makes me sad.

This past weekend I threw my buddy a bachelor party. Now he got married in December but because of a scheduling we had to do it after. Little back story I was 1 of 2 best men. The other no showed. In fact. All of my buddy’s invites (family included) no showed for his wedding. So I naturally wanted him to have some great memories. So I planned a weekend in San Diego and deep sea fishing. Invited all his buddies. Paid for everything but their hotel and food. I shopped around and made phone calls and finally settled on a fishing charter.
Well none of my buddy’s friends got back to me except for 1 for 5 months. And I was this kids coach when he was in high school. Hate him. He was also the other best man. So I plan the trip. We were to go to Mexican waters for great fishing. Well the other guy never got his passport even though I told him 5 months ago. So I find this out this past Monday. I call the boat captain and we change the trip to an island trip, way more expensive but supposed to be the best fishing possible In US waters. I told the captain from the get go our goal was not a specific fish, but one you have to use two hands to hold.
I spent 4500 on a trip to catch four fish the size of my shoe. 11 hours. They took us to San Clemente where there were no fishing reports despite Coronado having great reports. Also Multiple issues with the boat.
The other best man didn't pitch in for shit. Didn't book his hotel and tells me when we stop at the grocery store 5 minutes before the hotel. Says he's just gonna get a cot and sleep in my room. Fuck no.
Also while we are at the grocery store he tells the groom that he’s gonna cover his alcohol. He doesn’t. He buys himself two cases of beer and has my buddy buy his own shit. Not a real big deal but I didn’t want the groom to have to cover anything. We go to a steak dinner after our shitty day on the boat. I pay for the groom. We order sides for the table. The other guy doesn’t. Orders one of the most expensive steaks and no sides. Proceeds to eat ALL of the sides from the table. Split a salad with my buddy that went but had my buddy pay.
I type this and I know I’m sounding petty but I’m infuriated.
We come back yesterday. We all rode together. I drove.
Dip shit left his phone in my truck. Asks when I get home. Tell him 330 but leaving right after for the gym. He doesn’t respond. End up not going to the gym. Guess who shows up at my house at 4? Than wants to chit chat outside. I want to strangle this kid.
Flip side. I was really hoping to have a good time on this trip for my own personal gain, just needed a break. My wife and I are trying for a baby. I’ve wanted us to have kids for the last 8 years and she’s wanted to wait. I’m 33.
She just had her second miscarriage. Now she wants to wait again. I’m struggling. Also the groom just announced he’s having a girl.
If that weren’t all, I find myself struggling with our relationship. I am a romantic. Go all out on birthdays and Christmas. Anything to make her feel special. She doesn’t do the same. She’s not affectionate with me. Hardly touches me. Doesn’t ever pursue sex. If I don’t plan something for my birthday we don’t do anything. I get It. Not her love language. But what about my love language.
We do have fun together. Every now and then. I would never consider leaving my wife nor cheating but I truly feel unloved. I know she cares but not like I need/want.
And we’ve talked about it but she chops it up to being my fault or that I only want to have sex or that’s just how she is. I thought marriage was about compromise.

I consider it alright since I use 10 accounts to fish (without those cheating "macros") and I find it pretty decent. I get one huge per day since all of them got max mastery and being a frequent fisher people ridicule me for wasting my time doing it instead of grinding. I just like fishing since it's something other than hatching + with this new update grinding is a bit stale.

-Gaslighters and manipulators. Give me a few of them
-At least one diagnosed narcissist
-Give them rice. I know what you’re thinking, doesn’t food make it easier? No. A little rice does almost nothing but food control will start more fights
-Bring back deadlock voting with whomever has had more votes cast against them previously is voted out. No more rocks or fire
-Final 2 not 3
-Tribes of 3 are fine, but 8-10 members each and two loser tribes each episode
-More creative and brutal challenges. Survivor Outback had cliff jumping and pushing a crate down a river. More challenges where you set stuff on fire as well.
-Full Contact Survivor. No maiming but tribes can attack each others camps and maybe interfere in challenges
-No flint
-More rewards with less companions. Make them lose strategy time
-More rewards that are actually life experiences and give opportunities for funny moments like Ethan, Lex & Big Tom in Africa’s rewards (goats, safari)
-More late night challenges with night stories from Jeff about the history of the place that go directly to tribal with no time to prepare
-Quiz challenge based on knowledge of other contestants. Too many self centered egoists that need to be knocked down a peg
-Tree mail needs to be creative again, not corporate postcards. I wanna see that serial killer font on like a fish skull or something
-Less idols and advantages
-Penalties for failing immunity challenges after refusing to not play for rice. Fail holding on to the pole for 1 minute? Lose your vote
-Change up the order votes are read. Too predictable
-Allow cheating. Someone stole your idol before tribal? That’s rough, buddy.
-More severe weather. Tribes need to fear the elements like in the Outback
-One person that doesn’t speak any English
-Special season where everyone lives at the same camp. New tribes are formed for every immunity challenge and disbanded after tribal.
-Crew haunts players at night. Jeff makes up some legends about cryptids/mythical creatures/legends and the crew brings them to life

A bit after I pulled in a nice clean black Mercedes sedan pulled in with a middle aged blonde white woman(probably in her 40s) then a new clean red Toyota truck with a middle aged white balding dark haired man(probably also in his 40s) pulled in right beside the Mercedes. She got out and hopped in the passenger seat and were making out and getting all handsy with eachother for about a 1 and a half. They definitely would’ve done more like hooked up if I wasn’t there and others coming and going to fish and jog, considering I saw her putting her bra back on when she got out of his truck. There definitely was some cheating going on considering with nice new cars like that they have their own places that they didn’t meet at and they didn’t go to a hotel because they didn’t want anything traced to them. Honestly the whole thing makes me sick to my stomach, I don’t understand why people cheat and don’t just end things with their respective partners.

I recently switched from Brxsie's LO template to LLO2. My game has never been this problem free. Previously, I was dealing with what we're calling "script bloat," though the jury is still out on if that's the real issue. So, there were occasional crashes and the dropped dialogue, missing or disappearing dialogue options, or not even being able to engage in dialogue with NPCs.
When I switched, I also dropped a lot of mods. With the Brxsie template, I had a count of 241 actual mods. I don't know the Just Checking count. I dropped down to 187 actual mods with Just Checking reading 159. Vast freaking improvement.
So, everything has been hunky dory until a couple of quests seem to be coming into some conflict.
When speaking to Froki, there are no dialogue options other than to upgrade his shack, not the usual dialogue to start Kyne's Sacred Trials.
The other is with the Thieves Guild. I was able to go all the way through Taking Care of Business and after following Brynjolf into the Cistern, he turns around and walks out and everyone in the Cistern turns hostile.
But man, it is fantastic to play the game again without the "script bloat" problem. Script bloat would require an occasional shut down of the game and a restart to get things going. With no crashing and no restarting, its been fantastic!
Anyone mind taking a look at my order, see if the placement is causing these quests to not start?

So my last post asking why Indians don't read Indian books anymore had me surprised with the number of people genuinely interested to know more about Malayalam literature. A lot of them asked me for recommendations, so I thought I'd make a post. Now this won't be just a simple list of books to read. The reading list at kerala is probably better for a complete list of Malayalam books to read than a random internet post, but I hope with my post you will understand and appreciate Malayalam literature and Kerala better.
Malayalam evolved from Tamil. It branched off from Tamil in those parts of Tamilakam (a collective name given to the ancient Tamil kingdoms) which were most influenced by Sanskrit. The earliest literature that is distinctly Malayalam are from the 1100s, but the true beginning of Modern Malayalam starts from the 15th century with Thunchathu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan, master poet and father of Malayalam. Now Ezhuthachan (whose name literally means 'teacher of writing') was a lower caste Ezhava man who dared to study the Vedas and even began to write and teach others to write in an age where literacy was gatekept by Brahmins. His seminal work is the Adhyathma Ramayana, a retelling of the Ramayana from the lens of the Advaita or nondual philosophy. Here is an excerpt from the same work, translated by me. This verse is an opening verse where Ezhuthachan asks Brahmins for permission to retell the Ramayana. Sounds very serious and solemn, yes? Now watch Ezhuthachan mock the hell out of the entire class system of medieval Kerala.
For who can speak of the greatness of that lofty creed, owners of the earth, commanders of the Vedas, whose ceaseless boons and curses, drive even Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva to their wit's end. But pray, may I, born out of the feet of Brahma, number one among the unknowledgeable dare tell Rama's tale for the unconscious ones.
By the 1800s Malayalam literature had modernized very much. It was the first Indian language to start translating the works of Shakespeare, Milton etc. and the 19th century brought with it a fascination for Russian literature in Kerala that still has not ceased. Most big Malayalam bookstores have whole sections devoted to Russian literature translated from the original to Malayalam.
We get our first Malayalam novel in 1889 with O. Chandu Menon's Indulekha. Indulekha is about a young Nair lady of the same name, well educated in English and Sanskrit, in love with Madhavan, a western educated young man torn between modern culture and the culture he grew up in. Later, modernity and the past clash again when old Brahmin men try to marry Indulekha according to the old system. A saddened Madhavan runs away to Bengal in haste, leaving Indulekha to make her decision. The novel shows Indulekha as a modern, unwavering woman, willing to challenge her patriarchs, and shows how the society of Kerala had changed by the 1880s, when the decision of a woman could no longer be overruled. Must read for fans of Victorian fiction like those of Jane Austen, or even PG Wodehouse. (Spoilers - Madhavan realizes his mistake and returns for Indulekha.)
CV Raman Pillai's Marthanda Varma is another behemoth from the 1800s. Based on the life of the 18th century king Marthanda Varma, known as the maker of modern Travancore. Marthanda Varma was born in the royal family of Venad in a Travancore where the ruling family had lost all power to a group of eight Nair families known as the Ettuveettil Pillamar or the Pillas of the Eight Houses. The treasury of the kingdom was almost zero and real power and wealth were in the hands of the Pillas who had even started charging taxes and tarrifs. What follows is a brutal and bloody game between Marthanda Varma, a young prince who just won't give in, and the Eight Houses conspiring to kill him, told from the point of view of a love story involving a chivalric knight and an upper class girl. I've always noticed how Indian books and movies like portraying historical figures like superhuman gods perfect in every way. This book is for those who want to see the real nastiness of history. I recommend Marthanda Varma to fans of books like Shogun or even Game of Thrones.
With the 20th century we have writers like Thakazhi, a towering figure in Indian literature, whose Randidangazhi tells the story of a peasant uprising against landowners during the formative years of modern Kerala. Set in the paddy fields of Kerala, it shows how the poor, after having lived in a state of blissful ignorance starts to slowly come out of their coccoon and realise the horror of their slaving lives. Randidangazhi is a glimpse to how Marxism and Socialism began to get imported to Kerala and how it influenced the culture of Kerala. The less critically acclaimed but more popular novel of Thakazhi, is Chemmeen or Prawn, later made into one of the most succesful Malayalam movies ever. Chemmeen is set in the fishing landscape of Kerala in the shores of the Arabian sea, where fishermen believe that if a woman cheats on her husband while he is at sea, the Sea-Mother would swallow her up. Presented in this socio-cultural context is the story of Parikutty, a muslim fisherman in love with Karuthamma, the daughter of a Hindu fisherman. Their story is a more realistic and tragic version of Romeo and Juliet, with Karuthamma having to marry another man. But her love for Parikutty never dies, and they end up dead in the shores of the ocean.
Vaikom Muhammad Basheer - probably my favourite Malayalam writer. Basheer was a well educated Muslim man who grew up in the rural Muslim dominated areas of Kerala. He wrote in simple colloquial Malayalam and was looked down upon by the literary giants of his day, but today he’s seen as one of the masters of Malayalam fiction. He was once called by an English writer as the Chekhov of India to which a Malayalam writer responded saying that Chekhov was the Basheer of Russia. Basheer wrote about very ordinary people from the most ordinary places. The most famous and finest book of his I have read is called (and this sounds hilarious in Malayalam cause it’s basically a sentence squished into a word in a thick Muslim accent) Ntuppuppaakkoraanendaarnnu! which means My grandpa had an elephant! or more accurately Mygrandpahadanelephent! It’s a coming of age story about a little girl named Kunjupaathumma or little Pathu, who grows up in a family that once used to be rich but is growing poorer by the day. Little pathu gets consoled by her mom on almost a daily basis telling her ‘your grandpa had an elephant!’ clinging on to old pride while doing nothing to solve their present crisis. The English translation is actually called Me Grandad 'ad an Elephant, which kinda captures the original vibe.
MT Vasudevan Nair - the greatest writer to have ever written in Malayalam. Award winning novelist, short story writer, screenwriter and director. His first foray into fiction begins with winning a prize in a short story writing contest held by the New York Herald Tribune in 1953. What proceeded is one of the most impressive literary careers in history. His novels Naalukettu and Asuravithu show the shifting economic landscape of Kerala's Nair households. In Kaalam, the protagonist living in the city begins exploring the nostalgia of his past in feudal Kerala, having to face his crippling loneliness.
MT's most celebrated work and the second (you'll hear of the first very soon) most read Malayalam novel ever is Randamoozham or The Second Turn (translation is weirdly titled Bhima: The Lone Warrior, but English readers swear its very good). Let me begin talking about this novel by simply showing you the opening lines.
The sea was black in colour. Even after having swallowed a palace and an entire city, as if it's hunger hadn't died, the wave beat her head on the shore and screamed in agony.
You just read MT describe the sinking of Dwaraka. Randamoozham is about the Mahabharata, specifically about Bhima, the second of the Pandava brothers, well... dealing with being the second. He reinterprets the events of the Mahabharata with such skill that he makes you empathize with even the cruelest characters. Modern retellings of Indian epics like Asura or Jaya basically rewrite the story and change major events and add plot twists. MT changes nothing, and I mean nothing from the Mahabharata. He simply points out things you never thought about, and explores what might have been the deeper emotional reasons behind the actions of each character. MT being the most empathetic writer I've read has this incredible talent of seeing through people and making characters feel real and tangible. In Randamoozham he explores so many emotions, Bhima's feeling of being inferior to Arjuna, his feeling of emasculation and sexual helplessness, his intense love for Draupadi never repaid as she always prefers Arjuna over him.
Khasakkinte Ithihasam or the Legends of Khasak by OV Vijayan is usually considered the best Malayalam novel ever written. If you google 'greatest Malayalam novel' either this or Randamoozham comes up (google switches them up now and then). The novel is basically magical realism, the same genre of 100 years of solitude of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. But Vijayan's magical realism is a very different beast from that of Marquez. The distinction is subtle. Unlike the novels of Marquez, whether the magical parts of the book are real or not is left ambiguous. Let me explain, the protagonist is Ravi, a stoic man separated from his girlfriend, arriving at a muslim village called Khasak in the middle of nowhere to work as a school teacher. At first its a weird disjointed series of sketches of life in this strange village filled with strange characters who attribute every event and occurence to the workings of magical beings, spirits, or even long dead Muslim warriors. But the novel slowly reveals itself to be the story of a man learning to disconnect from reality and start seeing the magic buried within life. There's a scene where the mc recollects a memory as a child of looking up at the suns and seeing the weird wiggly things that move around in your eyes. His mother explains to him that they are actually Devas or tiny gods in sky, shying away when you look at them. This scene perfectly encapsulates the genre of this novel. I'll also share the fantastic opening para:
When the bus came to its final halt in Koomankavu, the place did not seem unfamiliar to Ravi. He had never been there before, but he had seen himself coming to this forlorn outpost beneath the immense canopy of trees, with its dozen shops and shacks raised on piles; he had seen it all in recurrent premonitions—the benign age of the trees, their riven bark and roots arched above the earth. The other passengers had got off earlier and Ravi sat alone in the bus, contemplating the next part of the journey as one does an ominous transit in one’s horoscope.
Mayyazhipuzhayude Theerangalil or On the banks of the Mayyazhi river by M. Mukundan - This is a novel spanning generations of French Indians in the French colony of Mahe in Kerala. It just wonderfully rolls out history like a scroll and shows you the glacial shifts of history from the reverent attitude of the locals towards the French in the beginning of the novel to complete rebellion by the end. And all of this is interspersed with a love story and magical realism concerning an island where dead people go to and turn into dragonflies. It really opens up a new world unknown to even most Malayalis, where French words are sprinkled in between Malayalam sentences to sound cool the way we use English today and where French aristocrats have to use Malayalam to get their kids to wake up. Some of it sounds jarring and outright weird to Malayali ears.
Mon petite! Mon petite! Ezhunekkoo! Samayam vaiki! Mon petite! Translation - Mon petite! Mon petite! Wake up! It's late already! Mon petite!
Aadujeevitham or Goat Days by Benyamin - as promised, here is the most famous and most sold book in Malayalam. I really really hope at least some of you recognize this from the recent movie Aadujeevitham or Goat Life starring Prithviraj. If not, see the trailer and get an idea of what this book is like. It's fairly recent, from 2008, and is single handedly responsible for rejuvinating Malayalam literature after almost a decade of hibernation. Benyamin became an overnight sensation and a household name with this novel, and It's probably the most read Indian novel in any language. So Aadujeevitham which literally means Goat Life is based on the true story of a man named Najeeb who travelled to Saudi Arabia after he was promised a job by a friend. But at the airport he is basically tricked by an smelly fat Arab into a truck and taken to a goat farm in the middle of the desert. What follows is a tale of survival spanning 4 years of animal-like living herding goats in the middle of nowhere. Najeeb has no access to actual food, and has to dip Khuboos in water pretending it's curry, has no access to toilets and must clean himself after excretion using sand, and has no access to new clothes or shaving. The novel explores the slow devolution of a man into a barely recognizable beastlike figure, living among goats, losing his status as a human and becoming synonymous with a goat. Now how does a human go from that to running across the desert for 4 days to escape? Read the novel and find out. Every Indian must read this honestly, it's quite horrible when it really sinks into you that this shit happened. With the movie recently we got quite a lot of interviews with the original man, and it blew away so many Malayalis that some of the most horrible stuff that happens in the novel wasn't made up, that it actually happened.
The next is the last novel I'll recommend. It's from 2009 but I didn't keep it till the end because of its recency. I kept it at the end because this novel created shockwaves in the Malayalam literary community, became a very controversial book, and ended up as a sensation among the youth. This novel is credited with bringing back or introducing so many young Malayalis (including me, this is the first Malayalam novel I read) into Malayalam literature. But fair warning, this really may not be for you.
Francis Itty Cora by T.D. Ramakrishnan - Possibly the most fascinating novel I have ever read in my life. You will either love this, or hate this. I'll tell you the premise in simple words:
There are 18 secret families, whose members are some of the wealthiest people in the world, spread all over the globe who are tied to ancient rituals and satanic sex cults, protecting secret texts and scriptures, They basically control the world. All of this is interspersed with a clusterfuck of a historical mystery involving the Indian origins of calculus, Cleopatra, Florence, Fibonacci and Hypatia, and how there’s nothing in common with any of these except for the fact that all of these elements are mysteriously connected to a single 15th century pepper trader from Kerala named Francis Itty Cora. Read that again.
Still interested? The novel opens with a young American man named Xavier Itty Cora, a war veteran, who has been having erectile dysfunction ever since he sexually assaulted a girl in Iraq. He seeks help to regain his sexual health from three college girls in Kerala running a makeshift sex resort, who begin suspecting his real intentions for contacting them out of anyone else in the world. It is revealed that Xavier Itty Cora had gotten to know that his family descends from a 15th century Christian pepper trader from Kerala named Francis Itty Cora who travelled around the world and started 18 families. The three college girls set out on a hunt to find the real truth about this man all the while being chased by a secret family that still worships him as his god. Now if that does not excite you, you probably won't like it. But personally, this novel ruined Da Vinci Code for me, as every Dan Brown novel I read after this just felt stupid and dumb compared to the sheer breadth and scope of this novel. T.D. Ramakrishnan uses history to not just give you a kick, but every mystery, every detail he adds is there to support his basic thesis that violence and lust is the driving force behind human civilisation.
I hope this post was helpful in showing you the insane diversity of Malayalam literature there is. It's not a monolith, Indian languages are whole literary traditions of themselves and not just niches or small genres compared. This weekend my husband is with his mom and dad and brother at our cottage. I did not feel like jining in so I stayed home. I have not had any major triggers in a while. I let go of my security blanket a few months ago (fear) and my WS now husband is quite frankly to best husband a woman would want. He opens up like never before, even about his PTSD. He tells me when he needs me to be home because he needs comfort and care. And I share more as well as I was a clam before. He is more comprehensive… about literally everything. He does not have a self-righteous air to him he used to have and when he talks about others he is less judgemental.
Since DDAY, I have had access to all his accounts etc. I have an old iPad of his and out of curiosity, I went to look at his text history. They never get erased even if he erases them on his iPhone. I found a text from an old friend of his dating from April. I had asked him to cut contact with her since I had a feeling she Elsa’s in love with him for many years. She has known him for 20 something years and even though I know he isn’t interested that way in her, I have always known she was. She started to send him more intimate texts a while back complaining about her spouse. This is where I drew the line. For me there is absolutely no space for intimate female-male friendships when you are in a relationship. You do not confide in a male friend who is in a relationship. I know he never confided in her as I have their texts from way back, but she was clearly trying to be the Damsel in distress and trying to open doors.
He has not contacted her but she sent a text saying “amazing”. She is blocked in his cellphone and primary iPad. He did not receive it. But I did not block her on this one so it came in. At first I was livid thinking they had a conversation and she was following up. But I know she knows she is not to contact him so my guy tells me she was throwing a fishing line where she could say, if he responded: oups so sorry I used the wrong number”. This to me reeks of desperation to keep contact with him.
Since she was his friend for a long time, I agreed for him to part ways without throwing her in a pit. He told her their exchanges crossed respectful boundaries and that he no longer felt they should contact each other anymore.
But now I am in “I am going to eat you alive” mode. Which is a bit ridiculous. I am absolutely not the jealous type and I do not feel threatened by her at all. But at the same time I have that she feels she can disrespect me and our relationship. It only reenforces my feelings that she was always in love with him. If a friend ended his friendship with me I would not be obsessed in keeping contact.
I feel like writing her back but I am not sure what I would say other than threatening her that I will tell her spouse her little tactics. Which seems so petty and I will sound like the super jealous crazy wife which I am not. I want her to respect boundaries and respect our relationship. Should my husband send her a curt message? What should I do?????!!!! I know I am more emotional since that crazy AP came into our lives and I know I watched my own boat sink before DDAY because I did not want to compete with a woman who is clearly beneath me. So now I want to be proactive. But at the same time I know she is not a real threat. Am I over reacting?!
She is still friends with all the other guys my husband is still friends either. He blocked her from all social media and even from the page they had created just for this friendship group. So I know he is wary of what she could say to the others.
P.s. for those who want to call me naive and say “for sure he is cheating on you again” please refrain from nourishing your ego through me. This isn’t it.

So, I have been playing Archmage playthrough for a while. It's been extremely fun playthrough. Although it's a little sad I can't do DB and Thieves Guild due to RP reason. The boss fights so far are fun ... but not exactly memorable. Dragons are pretty easy, Ebony Vampires are meh, Ebony Warrior is a challenge but still not that challenging. Annihilation Vortex (courtesy of Requiem - Expanded Grimoire by agd25) does a short work of anyone regardless of how tanky they are. And I have MONTROUS amount of Magicka (1200) so it's easy enough to keep spamming spells. But this, my friend, this fight is INTENSE. Miraak is the hardest boss in the game so far, bar none.

Review: (From my character's point of view)
First off, I know Miraak is strong and I didn't expect easy fight. After all, according to all the lore I have read on him at the College and the power I witnessed pointed to an immensely powerful being. Probably even more powerful than the Ebony Warrior. But I didn't expect this.
The fight started with his huge explosion spell. The burn from that spell alone almost killed me. I had to use Cleanse on self or the burn alone will kill me. I popped Daedra Heart Magicka potion and summon Dragonbone-clad warriors to distract Miraak. His triple-thrall summons almost did me in had I not death-ray them with Annihilation Vortex first. I shouted at Miraak with Unrelenting Force but it didn't really do much. His damage surprised me, it was far more than any dragon and any mage I've ever encountered. If I slipped up even a little, I'd die. I spent a lot more time healing myself than dealing damage to him with all the burns, the shouts and the spells he threw at me.
But I somehow managed to off him with Annihilation Vortex. Thanks to Daedra Heart infused potion, I was able to out-regenerate my magicka to the barrage of spells and summons I threw at him. But this little fetcher managed to swallow a Dragon soul and cheated death! My, had I the knowledge of that shout I'd counter him but I didn't. My pride as Archmage is a little wounded. However, I didn't really have time to think when he did that explosion thing again and sent an army of Atronachs in my face! I repeated the same tactics. While the Cleansing magic did cleanse my potions, thankfully I have like 17 Daedra Heart infused potions (to all aspiring mages, visit Atronach Forge often, you won't regret it).
The fight was intense. I was nearly died when he teleported next to me and almost burned my skin off with his Flame Cloak. I ran for my life to the opposite end of the summit before unleashing the stream of Aetherius against him. The magic to undo creation itself against an Agent of the Woodland Man. The fight seemed to warp the reality itself as the barrage of Thu'um and magic rang across the warp and weft of time in the bottomless sea of Oblivion. Our battle was probably more intense than the earth-shattering battle between Miraak and Vahlok.
This went on for a while. Miraak cheated death for some more times before I was able to exhaust his strength. Before I could finish him off, however, the Woodland Man killed Miraak. I felt the power of all the dragons Miraak had slain and stole from me flowed into me. It was almost like I was on the verge of Apotheosis ... such power of the timeless... For the first time, my faith for the totems of gods was tested. I felt an urge to prostrate before the Deep One and accept his aquatic embrace, to learn more. As a mage, knowledge is power. And power is like the nectar of Sovngarde. I entered Apocrypha as a man, the herald of Shor, the mage of Jhunal and the Tongue of Kyne. But when I emerged, I felt the taint of Apocrypha, now the face of the twisted aquatic herald is intertwined with me. The totemic depiction of twisted black fish dwelling in the deepest part of the ocean. I will always be faithful to the gods of the Nords. But I will not be able to shake off the call of the deep. Like a fish swimming in the bottomless inky sea of Apocrypha.
Oh, Miraak's Robes and gears are even more powerful than the Archmage Robes enchanted by Shalidor. It felt slightly twisted though. Almost like the consciousness of the lurker of the deep is sewn into the fabric. Such is the power of the Woodland Man. It makes me feel tainted. But maybe I can use this power for the good of the people. At least, while I keep my yearning for knowledge and secrets at bay.
PS. At this point, I think Floki (this character) is probably on the level of Zurin Arctus, Shalidor and Divath Fyr in terms of skill and power (lore-wise). I roleplay this kind of 'trying to stay humble and human'. His power is only contested by a REALLY few number of beings on Nirn at this point. But he is human who loves and lives. He tries his best to keep being human, being helpful and raise the standard of mages and magic in the eyes of the people. But there is this urge of power and knowledge (Herma-Mora influence) that is willing to sacrifice everything for greed.
PS 2. His journey reminds me of how people in real life tend to be drunk with power and it takes great humility and genuine effort to remain humble and human. A lesson for real life, if you will. You can strive for perfection, for success, for adventure and for power. But always remember the smile, the genuine kindness you have. Always be humble and helpful. Always remain human no matter how much prestige and power you have. Always remember that in the end, with all the power, it's love and relationships that grant us true happiness. In the end, we all die. Best live a life people will remember with fondness (Floki will die of old age in my RP, he will not seek magic to extend his lifespan. He is Padomaic through and through).

I am happy that most of you guys get what you wanted. Some didn't have Iovar but got something interesting in return like a Legend Lord perhaps, some got Setram, or the best fish Iovar himself. Some got what they want in just 1 x10 pull. I just wanted to get this out of my chest. I ENVY YOU GUYS! I haven't got any ancient lords, only OG guys except Morrigan and Torodor.
This weekend is not really all bad luck because I got legends nevertheless but all I wanted is a Setram so I can stop pulling. For 8k gems, 6 ancients summons and 60 blues, I got Serephina, Sadie, Artemis, Kria, first copy of Deimos for 7months of playing, and A5 Kalina. I lost pretty hard today and felt cheated but this is gacha game F2P, it is what it is. No matter how I wanted to complain, in the end its just a game. But I am hoping to get an ancient Lord at least next time. Please gacha gods change my fate!

Introduction
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal, multisystem neurodegenerative disease that causes the death of motoneurons progressively and eventually leads to paralysis [1]. The etiology of sporadic ALS is still unclear [2]. ALS leads to death on average 2-4 years after the onset of symptoms [3].
From the Dharma point of view, all illnesses are divided into 2 categories: physical illness and karmic illness. This classification was designed by Master Lu. Generally speaking, if a disease cannot be cured by a doctor, it is a karmic illness. For physical illness, the patient should seek help from a doctor, and for karmic illness, the patient should seek help from Dharma. When karma flares, usually triggered by some factors, the spirit(s) (a respectful name of “ghost”) will occupy the patient. Then, it becomes a spiritual illness.
Since doctors cannot diagnose the cause and cannot treat it, ALS is apparently a karmic disease. In a Dharma Q&A program, Master Lu found a spirit of dead man occupying a lady’s body because she killed a pregnant big sea turtle in her previous life as a fisherman, causing her ALS this life [4]. Thus, we can conclude that ALS is a spiritual illness.
To treat a spiritual illness, you will need to ascend the spirit(s) occupying your body. Once the spirit(s) leave your body, you will recover your health. Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door teaches you how to ascend spirit(s).

Once I was a totally ignorant sentient being. I have committed 4 of the 5 Buddhist precepts of killing, stealing, lust and delusion. I had two abortions, opened a restaurant for a year, sold lobsters, killed a lot of turtles. I have played mahjong for over 20 years and cheated at the mahjong table in order to win money while gambling. I have committed evil acts of sexual misconduct. I have created many oral karmas, for example, breaking up my brother's marriage. The terrible thing regarding ignorance is that I was doing something that hurt me, but I did not even know it, and I thought it was normal because many people did it, so I enjoyed doing it. I did not know that good and evil would be rewarded at the end of the day.
In 2012, at 46 years old, I realized I often fell while walking, but I didn’t pay much attention to it. In 2013, I was diagnosed with ALS in a hospital in Wuhan, China. Since 2015, I have been unable to take care of myself. Attempting to treat ALS, since 2013, I have tried nearly a hundred different medications, and for 3 months, I received treatment in the most advanced hospital in Beijing. Regardless, the deteriorating condition was not controlled. My body was weak, my neck was flaccid, not firm. I could not lift my head, and I could not speak clearly either. The only thing I could do was to write slowly on the cell phone. By 2019, the condition had become worse and worse. Since the onset of ALS, my shoulders and cervical spine have been unbearably painful. I would even choke while drinking and eating. After being tortured by ALS for 8 years I became shriveled and had lost over 5 kilograms of weight. I felt as if I had arrived at the end of my life.
Heaven never blocks a man's will, and there is always a way out. I appreciate Buddha and Bodhisattva for their mercy and care towards sentient beings. In May 2020, a Buddhism practitioner who practiced Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door sent me a chanting player. This was when I started my Buddhist journey reciting Buddhist scriptures daily. Perhaps because I had a strong affinity with Buddha in my previous generations, I was able to initiate and love studying the Dharma immediately from the very beginning.
Now, every morning after getting up and before starting the daily recitation, I drink a cup of Great Compassion Water, take the compound Danshen tablets, and drink a bowl of red dates, wolfberries and American ginseng juice. My daily recitation consists of: Great Compassion Mantra 49 times, Heart Sutra 49 times, Cundi Dharani 49 times, Xiao Zai Ji Xiang Shen Zhou 49 times, Amitabha Pure Land Rebirth Mantra 21-49 times, Mantra to Untie Karmic Knots 49 times, the Eighty-eight Buddhas Great Repentance Text 5 times, and Qi Fo Mie Zui Zhen Yan 108 times. Because oral karma is too heavy, to specifically eliminate it, I recite the Qi Fo Mie Zui Zhen Yan 108 times per day. I can recite 4 Little Houses every day.
In May 2021, I made 5 great vows:

1. Become a vegetarian for life.
   
2. Never kill beings.
   
3. Release 10,000 fish (time range was not set).
   
4. Recite 1000 Little Houses for my karmic creditors within 2 years.
   
5. After recovery, I will convince sentient beings to practice Buddhism using my experiences.
   

Every morning, I say the above 5 vows to Bodhisattva one time and, I also add: "I will rectify my past mistakes and will not create new karma for the rest of my life."
I am very grateful to the great Mercy of Guan Yin Bodhisattva! Twice I dreamed that Guan Yin Bodhisattva performed surgery in my head and throat to help me get rid of the pain. One day I was in a bad mood and that night, in my dream, I saw these large words "Do it even if it's hard!". I knew it was Merciful Guan Yin Bodhisattva spurring me to go on despite the odds! I appreciate the Bodhisattva for Her Great Compassion saving both my physical life and spiritual life without giving up! I am also grateful to the WeChat Buddhism practitioners for their unfailing support and help.
Compared to when I just began reciting Buddhist scriptures in May 2020, my speech speed has improved greatly, and I feel no pressure reciting Buddhist scriptures following the fast-talking version on the mobile phone. However, I still can't pronounce clearly; my speech is slurred. This may be the retribution resulting from my oral karma when I broke up my younger brother's marriage. When a man plants seeds, he should harvest what he planted. I only understood this truth after I studied Buddhism. As a Buddhism practitioner one must be cautious to avoid generating karma, particularly, do not get involved in cause and effect of others carelessly.
Although I have only practiced Buddhism for 1 year, I am delighted that my illness has been effectively controlled and the wellness of my body has improved. I have regained weight and strength. There are no atrophied muscles anymore. Now, I can stand up on my own from a stool. My tongue is also much more flexible, my throat is unobstructed, I am able to swallow, and food and water no longer make me choke. All this progress convinced me that studying Buddhism and reciting Buddhist scriptures can definitely change my miserable destiny! It takes more than one day to freeze three feet of ice; it also takes more than one day to melt the ice. I don't dare to wish to fully recover immediately, because the long-standing karma from years of killing, stealing, lust and delusion cannot be eliminated overnight. As long as I keep practicing, my condition will definitely improve!
I am grateful for the disease that allowed me to enter the Dharma Door. Looking back on those days when I could not even have the strength to kill myself, my life was worse than death, just like living hell on earth. In contrast, I live a happy life today. Practicing Buddhism has not only placed my body on the road to recovery, but it has also helped me place my mind in the right place to understand what it means to be a human being. I will cherish my Buddha's affinity and spiritual life, practice Buddhism and cultivate my mind, in order to acknowledge the Buddha and Bodhisattva's grace!

曾经的我，是一名地地道道的无明众生。佛法五戒中的杀、盗、淫、妄四样我都干过。我堕胎过两个孩子，开过一年餐馆，卖过龙虾，杀过很多甲鱼。我打麻将有20多年，为了在赌博时赢钱，在麻将桌上作弊。我有过邪淫的行为。我造过很多口业，例如，拆散弟弟的姻缘。无明的可怕之处在于我正在做着伤害我自己的事，却不自知，还以为这很正常，故而乐此不疲。殊不知，善恶到头终有报，只争来早与来迟。
2012年，46岁，我走路容易摔跤，但是我没有太在意。2013年，47岁，在武汉某医院我被诊断出患有渐冻症。2015年至2021年的6年时间里，我生活无法自理。我服用过近百种药品，还曾经到北京某知名医院治疗了三个月，都没能控制住病情的恶化。我的身体绵软无力，脖子绵软地抬不起头，话说不清楚，只能在手机上慢慢写字。从2019年开始，病情越来越严重。肩膀、颈椎犯起病来疼痛难忍；甚至连喝水、吃东西都会被呛到。我被疾病折磨得干枯萎缩，爆瘦了十几斤。我感觉自己已经熬到了生命尽头……
天无绝人之路，感恩佛菩萨的垂怜眷顾。2020年5月，有一位修学XLFM的师兄给我寄来了念经的播放器。从此我走进了ⅩLFM，开始学佛念经做功课了。也许是自己的佛缘具足，从一开始我就喜欢上了念经。不过，我的学佛之路并不是一帆风顺的，也有些许来自先生的阻碍。感恩微信群里的师兄们的开导和鼓励，才使我坚持到今天。
现在，每天早上起床后，我就喝大悲水，之后服用复方丹参片，再喝一碗红枣、枸杞、西洋参汁，然后开始念功课。我每天的功课是：《大悲咒》49遍，《心经》49遍，《准提神咒》49遍，《消灾吉祥神咒》49遍，《往生咒》49遍，《解结咒》49遍，《礼佛大忏悔文》5遍和《七佛灭罪真言》108遍。因为我的口业很重，所以我每天念诵108遍《七佛灭罪真言》专门用于消口业。每天我能念4张经文组合。
2021年5月，我许了如下五个大愿：
一、终身吃全素；
二、终生不杀生；
三、放生上万（没许多长时间内完成）；
四、在两年内念诵1000张小房子；
五、康复后现身说法，救度众生。
每天早上，我都跟菩萨把以上5个愿力说一遍。并且，我还补充一句：“我余生痛改前非，不造新业。”
感恩大慈大悲观世音菩萨！我曾经两次梦到观世音菩萨到我梦里，为我头部和咽喉做手术，帮我拔除痛苦。有一次我心情不好，晚上在梦里就看见“再难也要前行！”几个大字。我知道，这是观世音菩萨在慈悲点化我要知难而进！感恩大慈大悲观世音菩萨一直在不离不弃地救度我的生命和慧命！也感恩师兄们一直不厌其烦地支持我、帮助我！
较之于去年刚刚念经的时候，我现在的语速大大地提高了，跟着手机快语速版念经也毫无压力了。但是，我现在还是发音不清楚，即含糊不清。这也许就是因为我口业太重所致！是我拆散小弟姻缘的现世报。因果报应，丝毫不爽啊！这是在我学佛后才明白的道理。所以，学佛做人要谨小慎微，如履薄冰，更不能随便动他人因果。
虽然我学佛念经仅有一年的时间，但让我欣喜的是，我的的病情得到了有效控制，身体各方面都有了很好的改善。人长胖了，也有力气了。萎缩的肌肉长出来了，现在我可以从凳子上自己站起来了。舌头也灵活多了，吞咽时喉咙无阻碍，吃饭喝水也不会被呛到了。这一切都让我坚信，学佛念经一定可以改变我的命运！只要坚持念经，我的身体一定会越来越好的！
承蒙观世音菩萨慈悲保佑，让我的饮食逐渐恢复了正常，使我有了康复的资本。我相信只要我努力精进地学佛念经，身体一定会越来越好，一切都只是时间问题。先生脾气不好，学佛念经后，我就把他的坏脾气视为我修行修心的增上缘，促使我在念经学佛的路上更快地成长。虽然我先生现在还没有开悟，看到我学佛后各方面的改变，先生转变态度，如今支持我学佛念经了。我很感恩他能支持我学佛念经。
一人学佛，庇荫全家。自从2020年农历九月十五我家设佛台以后，儿子的生意也越来越好了。观世音菩萨大慈大悲，不但救度我，连我的孩子也一起呵护。

感恩这场疾病，让我有幸走进了XLFM。如今回想起来，曾经的自己连自杀的能力都没有，那些日子真是生不如死，简直就是活在人间地狱。相比之下，今天的生活太幸福了。学佛念经不但让我的身体走上康复之路，而且让我把心态整理好了，明白了做人的道理。有菩萨保佑，无论什么事情，我都充满信心。

For a while now I feel as though my feelings have changed, I’ve been accused of cheating and as of recently being abusive. For context, she accused me of cheating because a mutual friend of ours F invite me to go to the beach, so I told my girlfriend that I’ll pick her up and we’d go to the beach with her, however, she was busy as she had a coworker’s baby shower so she couldn’t go, she got upset because I was still going, and started accusing me of cheating. As of recently she’s saying that me bumping into her (as a joke) or even play fighting (me tapping her on her forehead to annoy her) is me being physically abusive. We’ve gotten into a disagreement and she hasn’t spoken to me for two days, context: she has a male friend, which she had relations with in the past, she liked him in university, they kissed, and they slept in bed together (however she’s saying that they didn’t do anything and there was a pillow between them, hard to believe), I mentioned that I do feel uncomfortable with him and asked if she can ease up talking to him as he isn’t a good person, he bad talked her mother, bullied her when they worked together, and made snarky comments about her to her coworkers, yet she continued to defend him and say he was there when her dad passed and I wouldn’t understand what it’s like to have someone to support her in that difficult time. On Friday I met her in Starbucks, she was already there and when we were sitting she saw the guy sitting out and was surprised, apparently he messaged her and said that he doesn’t want to be disturbed as he is out with a girl, we were sitting in her car and he drove off (she knew where he parked and commented on the way he was driving), we got out a was walking to pickup some takeout I ordered and she handed me her phone, I saw a missed video call and two voice messages from him, later that night I told her, and she said that he was calling to make sure she didn’t feel any kind of way about him not wanting to be disturbed. It’s all too confusing as a few months ago I asked her to ease off talking to him and she agreed, we were on the edge of breaking up, but I found out recently that she changed her mind, so I sat there like a fool thinking she was making changes, when in reality she agreed to whatever at the time to ensure I stay. Part of me is still trying to hold on as I want things to get better, but I’ve spoken about things too many times, on the flip side, it’s easier said than done to go our separate ways….. She’s questions our compatibility once and even went on to saying that we have nothing in common anymore, I love to fish and go off-roading but she hates these things I don’t get any support

I have owned a game shop for 10 years now. I see neck beard types. I see leg beard types. I see incels. The whole rainbow of cringe is often in my very shop. They play their games. Stink up the joint. Above all else though they got on my ever loving nerves I swear.
I bought the shop back in 2013ish after my grandfather died. He left me some decent money, which is about all the good he ever did. Cranky old man stuck around far too long and was a drain on myself. My parents saddled me with caring for him. My only escape from that bitter old man was the game shop. I would go and play war games and yugioh. Around 2011 I was banned from the store for chronically selling yugioh cards in the shop. Something the crotchety land whale that owned the shop did not like. So he banned me. When my grandfather finally died he afforded me the opportunity to lift my ban by purchasing the shop at a high markup. I may have overpaid, but it was worth it to get back my home away from home and to ban that landwhale from his own shop.
Once I took over. I learnt that I wouldn’t be able to participate in games as much unless I wanted to hire employees. Which I did not. I don’t really understand the taxes and had no interest in paying extra to employ people. So I basically ran it all myself for a damn long time. It was fun at first. But I realized I actually hated my customers. I hated games. I hated these goblins that occupied my shop for events and game nights. That’s how you make money though. Stupid events for stupid little neckbeards.
So I am gonna tell you about some choice individuals. I like to call them The Party. Four human shaped food holes that were far too loud. When I was young, back in the 80’s dungeons and dragons wasn’t fun. It was a game to be won. I dont know what happened. Maybe it was all them critical role streamers that ruined it. At some point neck beards gravitated to dungeons and dragons as a form of fun. As a way to make jokes. They basically ruined the game. I hate that they ruined a great war game and turned it into nothing but jokes. Us older nerds get not a drop of respect as these youngins trample over our great games.
The party consisted of two manlet weirdos. Dressed in what looked to be homemade wizard robes. A tall thin man dressed in an outfit that would be seen on frank sinatra. And the loudest legbeard landwhale I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. They would come in on open play nights and occupy the back room where the warhammer gamers played. Their volume was completely unacceptable. I had asked them politely several times to keep it down. I had received several complaints from the warhammer players as well. It was not uncommon for the war gamers and The Party to start arguing. Which was always a sight to behold. 90 percent of the time I didn’t intervene hoping one of The Party might get their teeth knocked out. It never got to that point. Despite all the wishing in my heart.
Still I tolerated them for the most part. They bought plenty of snacks. Overpriced soda cans and over priced chips are good money in this line of business. Cleaning up after them was a pain. Cheeto smeared tables and chairs are not fun to clean. I remember once asking them to clean up after themselves. They just stared at me with blank dead fish eyes before talking about the hot dog man. The hotdog man being some sort of inside joke. They found it hilarious. It was some recurring npc in their campaigns that did “wacky” hijinks or something. They tried to explain it to anyone who would listen. Anytime someone else would laugh at their stupid joke I wanted to just close up shop.
Then I started fucking with them. I’d shake up cans of soda they bought. I’d “accidentally” bump into their table while moving inventory. This would cause their set up and dice to spill all over. I’d sell them microwaved dice sets “at a discount” and laugh with joy as they consistently rolled nat 1’s. I actually had quite a bit of fun coming up with new ways to inconvenience them. Damaging their favorite table, replacing the chairs at that table with uneven ones. One time I spilled a cup of hot chocolate on the one dressed like frank sinatra.
They eventually started blaming their new streak of misfortune on the hotdog man. That fucking stupid inside joke about the hotdog man had grown to encompass their real life misfortune. These beardy fucks had completely disassociated from reality apparently. It wasn’t long after this began in the shop that it spread. Any little thing that went wrong in the shop others started blaming on the hot dog man! Bad game of yugioh…hot dog man. Shit your pants? HOT DOG MAN! Dog got hit by a car! HOT DOG MAN! It permeated and spread because these little beards never shut up about their stupid inside joke.
I could not tolerate it any longer. As a game shop owner I am the god of these halls and I would not take this beardery. NAY! I didn’t clean my grandads colostomy bag for 8 years to have my castle ruined by the fucking HOT DOG MAN! No these nerds hard to go. I had to hatch a scheme to get them out of the shop.
It was actually relatively easy to come up with a scheme. I knew the fat leg beard was dating the tall “well dressed” kid. But, I also knew she was a bit of a cheater. They had many arguments about her cheating on him. Why such a beast would be able to get so many men interested in her I have no idea. But i knew she had her eyes on one of the seedier warhammer players in the store. He wasn’t a good guy, actually a bit of an alcoholic who hung around because this was all he had left. So I struck a deal, I offered him a hefty amount of figurines for his army in return for “seducing” the land whale. A task he was actually excited about.
Over the next couple weeks I watched as the alcoholic man inserted himself into The Party. I watched as he got closer to the girl, I saw the “well dressed” beard grow more and more insecure. Going outside in a huff more often. The leg beard and her boyfriend arguing loudly in front of the store a few times.Then on the third week during an open play night only the land whale leg beard appeared, crying as she clung to the alcoholic war gamer and complained about her boyfriend. The crying was only slightly less annoying than hearing about the hotdog man. I tried to tune it out by doing some stocking of new inventory for the upcoming yugioh release. I eventually noticed a distinct lack of belly aching. I looked over to the side room, and saw that the alcoholic and legbeard were actively making out on a table. Disgusted I made sure the cameras were recording in the side room.
The world was at peace again. The Party would soon be destroyed thanks to some well deployed miniatures in the right desperate losers hands. Simple as can be. Soon my store would be free of the hot dog man plague. This is why you should never mess with a wealthy man we are wealthy because we are wise. My store is one of the best in this town and it is because of my wisdom. No one else can compete with me because I am too good to be doing this.
As I stocked the cabinet with new singles I had recently bought from someone clearly desperate for drug money I found myself very pleased with myself. I sang as I organized my new acquisitions. Then sneaking a peak at the camera I noticed a distinct absence of the obese legbeard and the war gaming alcoholic. I tried to locate them by walking back there, only to hear the sounds of unholy degenerate acts in the bathroom. I found myself amazed by their lack of shame and more so how easy the land whale was. I guess it’s true what they say “fat chicks will do anything”. I contemplated breaking it up. Then I thought it might be really funny if she got pregnant and the frank sinatra wannabe had to raise a cuck baby. So I allowed it to continue. They left together sometime later.
I went ahead and did a little facebook stalking, as frank sinatra and the land whale were both on on my stores facebook page. Two days later they were broken up and the land whale was dating and apparently living with the alcoholic wargamer. Now I still have to deal with her, but the rest of The Party is distinctly absent.
I posted the video from the security cameras on the facebook page on valentines day that year and tagged the frank sinatra wannabe, deleting it after he left some angry comment under it. Just one more jab at his stupid broken heart. That’s what he deserves for being a cringe neckbeard with his stupid inside jokes.
Now the legbeard and alcoholic play wargames on open play nights at the shop and she’s much quieter. The legacy of the hotdog man died shortly after. I do now have to occasionally observe as the land whale and alcoholic wargamer swap spit on a table. I’ve had to make a sign for the bathroom door that say “please do not fuck in here” and when that didn’t work yell at the both of them. Saying something along the lines of “THIS IS NOT A MOTEL!” but even with that inconvenience, it is still preferable to those beards and their stupid inside joke. I will take cringe bathroom sex over the hot dog man any day.
I am just happy that I met my wife in Mexico. If you have money and a passport, get yourself a Mexican wife. They are much less insane than your average american woman. Also they are very grateful to be here. So that pays dividends in the end. Plus you have someone who can talk to the repair men in their native language around here. Wish I would have known she was infertile beforehand. On the brightside though no condoms. So its not all bad. There are no any beards in Mexico my friends.
