Card sharing servers

Hi all,
I'm looking at installing a BlackVue DR970X into my car and hardwiring the camera to my fuse box.
I am a little concerned with my car battery being drained due to parking mode, but I definitely want to have parking mode enabled... so looking to get more information at this point.
I know there is a voltage check cut-off which will turn the camera off if the camera doesn't detect a level of power, but I don't think this is what I want as the camera will then basically turn off within a couple of minutes of me turning off my car and not record events after this.
My questions:

1. Will the camera constantly draw power while my car is turned off/parked? From what I've read, parking mode just stops the camera from writing to the SD card memory unless there is an event but it is constantly drawing power in order to be ready for these events.
   
2. If the above is true: If I decide to not drive my car for two days - will the camera have drained my car battery since it was in parking mode constantly for those two days?
   
3. Is there possibly less power draw while in parking mode?
   

If anyone can answer the questions above or If anyone has their own personal experience to share, that would be appreciated!

Basically If I'm talking with a friend and they or I share our screens my discord randomly freezes when trying to switch servers or sometimes even if I'm browsing it freezes and I have to shut it using task manager. Tried disabling hardware acceleration and other settings but it still happens. Any help would be appreciated!

First of all, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every one of you. The past few months have been incredibly troubling for us all, but you guys have made it easier to find my way through it. The community and the podcast will always hold a special place in my heart. For three and a half years I have worked as a mod of FUCKFACEPOD to build a thriving community of comment leavers. In that time we have done incredible things together.
We left our mark on Place in 2022, we held meetups at RTX, the mod team even tried streaming for Extra Life one year. And when the company was closing down around us, and we moved to a new subreddit, we quickly built a brand new space full of the same joy and humor that defined the old subreddit. However... this will unfortunately be my last stop.
It is with deep sorrow that I tell you all that I have been removed from the moderation team of this subreddit. After three and a half years, I will no longer be a moderator here for subreddit. I am so incredibly proud of this community and how far we have come. I will be forever grateful to the podcast, and to all of you for the memories and the laughter you guys gave to me.
But this isn't goodbye forever. I'll still be hanging around the subreddit as a regular ol comment leaver. I also will continue to moderate for SoAlrightPod so go check out that place. I will also continue modding for roosterteeth at least for now, though I do plan on leaving that one soon.

To ANEGGG I say thank you. I cannot overstate the impact Rooster Teeth has had in my life. From my very first Achievement Hunter video in 8th grade, to the final episode of the Rooster Teeth Podcast. You guys are what ignited my passion for creating things, and you're what pushed me to pursue a degree in Film. Seeing you guys pop up in the subreddit has always been a joy (Eric's comments are always fucking hilarious) and I was overjoyed when I got to meet some of you at RTX 22/23. Thank you.
To the OG mods of FUCKFACEPOD I say thank you. Some of you have only been mods for a months before we had to switch subreddits and you all adapted to the change wonderfully. The rest of you have been in the game almost as long as I have. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to have worked with, nor better friends to accompany me. Thank you.

I've had some pretty dark moments over the past few years, but being able to come to this subreddit and laugh at whatever random bullshit was happening has always managed to pull back into the light. Now if you'll forgive me, I'd like to do some reminiscing about my time here:

• January 2021: u/Johnathan_Wickerino, creator of FUCKFACEPOD invites myself and three other mods to help him run the expanding subreddit.
• November 12th 2021: Myself, another mod, and a couple community members host F**kers & Flagons, a DND Extra Life stream. We raise $500.
• April 1st 2022: Place opens it's doors once more. While the Discord server is playing an April Fools prank by rebranding to a Face Jam server, the subreddit is working to build the F**k Face logo on the canvas.
• April 2022: A few weeks after Place, we celebrate the 100th episode of F**k Face.
• June 2022: FUCKFACEPOD Crosses 10,000 members. We celebrate by inviting people to play Halo Infinite. This was originally supposed to be a tournament, but due to lack of participation we just screwed around in custom games for a few hours. Thank you to Andrew Panton for joining us for the occasion.
• July 1st 2022: RTX opens it's doors in Austin for the first time since COVID. Through masks and face shields, we come together as a community once again. One of the other mods Trix hosts a community meetup outside the convention center which Geoff shows up to.
• January 2023: The first draft of many is released. We all gather round to listen to the Falls Draft.
• April 2023: The very first live Sloppy Joes Bingo takes place late at night on RTTV
• July 7th 2023: Nobody knows it yet, but this will be the final RTX. This year is my first and only year as a Guardian. While walking on the convention floor, Eric calls me over and asks me for a pen. As I hand him the pen I tell him who I am. When he's done signing autographs and taking pictures, he hands me a huge stack of baseball cards with his face on them and tells me to do as I will with them. I spend the whole weekend passing them out to people. When I get home I mail the leftovers out to 43 people.
• July 9th 2023: As Trix hosted the meetup last year, I host it this year. This year was thankfully indoors and out of the Texas sun. Two community members come to the meetup with bootleg golden gurplers and start passing them out to people. Another member brings a F**k Face Summer of 98 Yearbook which all of us happily sign.
• December 25th 2023: It is Christmas morning. Christmas has never really meant anything to me since I'm Jewish, but as I look at my phone and see a notification announcing we have hit 20,000 members, I definitely start feeling the Christmas Spirit.
• January 24th 2024: Myself and a few other members of the community play a game of Quiplash 3 using a custom F**k Face themed prompt pack. The video features a special introduction by Andrew Panton, as well as a recorded message by Eric.
• March 6th 2024: If this were to happen one week later I'd be able to make a "Beware The Ides Of March" joke. It is on this day that we learn that Rooster Teeth is being shut down.
• May 11th 2024: After two months of housekeeping and negotiations, Rooster Teeth is finally dead. Many of it's podcasts are now going independent, while others are forced to rebrand.
• Today: Who the fuck knows...

Hello I'd just like to share my experience with renewing my passport via mail and timestamp updates throughout the process.
April 13th: Dropped off passport to Canada Post in Shoppers Drug Mart. I used Xpress ship to track.
April 15th: Passport office recieved my passport.
April 30th: Credit Card was charged for renewal.
May 7th: Requested a reference file number to check progress; said they received my passport and is still in processing.
May 13th: Checked status again on reference site and they finished processing. They provided a tracking number with Canada Post.
May 15th: New passport delivered by mail. Old passport still in their office but said it'll be delivered back within 6 weeks.
Overall from the day they received my passport it took around 21-22 business days. For context I live in the GTA.

TL;DR: 35 year-old making 75k a year. I have an adequate emergency fund. I’m contributing 14% into my company’s 401k (7% of which is Roth Basic). I only have $22.5k in my 401k due to paying off debt aggressively. I am now completely debt free. What can I be doing better and can my money be working harder?
I’m a 35 y/o male in Dallas, TX who hasn’t really had a “decent” job until about 5 years ago. I would consider myself a cheapskate who lives pretty frugally. My total monthly (rent + all bills/payments) expenses are around $1,650. No kids.
Right now, I make 75k. I usually get small (2k-5k) cost of living bumps every year. A few years ago, I got a title bump and my salary went up 20k and a raise will most likely happen again in a few years given the field I’m in.
Since last year, I’ve been contributing 14% into my work’s combined 401k / Profit Sharing plan in a Fidelity Freedom 2055 Fund. I have 7% in a Roth Basic and 7% in an “Employee Deferral” (I think the latter is just the name for a normal 401k?). I also don’t really know which plan is best for my situation. My employer matches 50% of the first 3% of pay I defer, not to exceed $1,500. I become 100% vested next year (currently 80% vested) in our employer contributions / profit sharing plan. Do I need a Roth IRA in addition to my 401k if I’m not maxing it out at the moment?
Currently, my 401k sits at $32.5k. It’s much lower than I’d like because I used any extra income to aggressively pay off loans (see next text block).
Over the pandemic, half of my income went to paying off all student loan and credit card debt. Today, I am completely debt free.
I have about $14.5k in my checking account and $1,000 in my bank’s saving account. I consider most of the $14.5k my “emergency funds.” I’m sure there’s a better place to that fund than in my checking account. Should I put my emergency fund in a HYSA?
I’d love to hear how I can be doing better. Can my money be working harder for me?
Do I need a high-yield savings account? A Roth IRA in addition to my 401k? Should I be throwing more into my retirement account? Should I be investing in an index fund or a target date fund right now?
As someone who knows very little about money, reading the personal finance wiki was super helpful, but a lot of this still makes my head spin. Thanks for any advice!

Hello! I am looking for any advice on integrating Square and QBO. We will now be accepting credit card payments. I see a lot of confusion about personas here and wanted to shed some light on why you may want to use them on a new server like Teek. These use cases will change in the future, since personas won’t be needed for many of the reasons stated below in later expansion, so keep in mind that this is mostly for early gameplay on the new TLP.
Reason 1: Quickly getting to a different continent at launch.
For example, my plan is to start with an Iksar character, but the static group I’m leveling with is meeting up in GFay. Instead of making the long and risky journey from Cabilis to Kelethin, I’m using personas. I’ll begin with my Iksar and grab my starting robe. Then, I’ll create a new persona as a Wood Elf Druid that starts in Kelethin. But since the Iksar race are KOS there, I’ll first take the Druid to a safe area without guards. At that point, I can switch to my Iksar persona, which will now be wherever that safe spot is.
Reason 2: Quick travel upon dying.
Since I’m playing an Iksar, if I die, I will respawn in my starting city, Cabilis. When that happens, I will simply switch my persona back to my Druid, who will now also be in Cabilis. I’ll attack a guard and let the Druid die. Since the Druid’s starting location is Kelethin, I will respawn in Kelethin. I’ll then again get to a safe area and switch personas back to the Iksar and be back in Kelethin.
Reason 3: To quickly buy spells.
This one works particularly well if you have the Challenger perk that prevents you from losing levels upon death. For this to work, you should keep your bind point at the starting location on your main character. For example, if I’m in Crushbone when my Iksar levels up, I will obviously be a long run back to Cabilis to get new spells. However, if I let myself die, the Challenger perk will prevent me from losing any experience and I will end up back in Cabilis. Then, I can buy my spells and switch personas back to my Druid, who will again die and respawn back in Kelethin. This method is much quicker in the early stages for buying spells compared to creating a character that sits at the spell vendor and then parcels them over to your main.
Reason 4: For quick travel in general.
Using the same strategy as above, you can leverage the starting locations around the map to travel via “death ports”. For example, I plan on having my Iksar main (starting continent is Kunark), a Wood Elf Druid persona (starting continent is Faydwer), and a Human persona (starting continent is Antonica). This setup will give me easy travel around the map by switching to the specific persona, dying, and then respawning at the designated starting area. Then I just switch back to my Iksar when I’m in a safe location and I’m there.
Reason 5: To vendor trash loot as an evil race.
Since I’m playing an Iksar and plan to spend most of my early time near cities where I am KOS, I will use my personas to sell to those vendors. For example, if I’m in Crushbone and ready to sell my loot, I will switch to my Wood Elf persona to sell to the vendors in Kelethin. You can even meta-game this by creating a persona with the highest Charisma possible to get the maximum price from vendors for your loot. Not a huge difference in price, but not irrelevant either.
Some important notes to remember:

1. You must have the LS expansion to access personas, which costs at minimum $35 USD. Be aware that you do not have access to personas unless you own this expansion.
2. With the purchase of the LS expansion, you have a limited number of personas (3) unless you buy additional slots. It’s also important to note that you cannot delete a persona. Therefore, you have to be strategic in how you use them. Don’t create them randomly. When you create personas, try to consider what you might want to use them for in future expansions (different races, classes, etc.). Once your 3 personas are used up, that character can no longer create more without purchasing extra slots.
3. Each persona levels up independently. This means if your main character is level 20, when you switch to the persona, they will not share your experience and will be level 1.
4. Your entire inventory is shared. Which means if you have a full bag of loot on your main and then persona over to another toon, that full bag of loot will be in the same spot.

Hope this helps some folks trying to figure out what the purpose of Personas is and how you might want to use them if you plan on (or already own) the expansion!

I have an old PC with an Intel Core i7 9700 and an Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti, 128GB on Windows 10.
(Yes, 128GB RAM, the same desktop runs as a Proxmox Server which has a ton of VMs and Docker Images)
While I play some games on 1080p, I get a black screen of death for a couple of seconds while I'm video gaming. Sound is fine while I have those screens.
I'm suspecting that my video card has gone bad. I tried to monitor my computer's power consumption and it is 180-250W on a 1000W PSU, is that normal? shouldn't the card, peripherals etc pull more power?

For some reason can't log in anymore into my email account. Was able to log in without any issues about a week ago.
Steps to reproduce:

2. The site returns a completely blank white page with nothing on it. Tried it for several days now but consistently get the blank page.

One of the advantages of Jubensha is the tightly woven plot that involves every character. One of the disadvantages is that each character is a main character in their own right, and missing any character will leave a big hole in the plot and the discussion. The player count of a Jubensha is very strict. Most of the time, there is no flexibility.
However, there are titles that allow a small range of flexibility, usually one or two players.
Advantages, they allow a wider audience to play the game, if someone is unable to make it, you don't have to scramble around for an additional player, nor do you have to bring a backup game that supports a lesser player count.
The difficulty of creating a flexible player count goes against the strengths of Jubensha: How to do make each character a main character when played, yet be able to function without them?
Considerations: When being played by a player, will they feel as if their role or story is a side character? When not being played by a player, how will these missing characters be interacted with? How will their information be conveyed on their behalf? How will this affect the game balance and the deduction process?
Let's observe a couple games approach, and how they attempt to solve each consideration.
GM -> NPC How it's done: The first type of mechanic is an character that is also playable by a GM. The GM can play the role of this character giving the flexibility of one lesser player. A character arrives at the scene after the incident (usually dubbed as the detective), and participates in the investigation and discussion.
Main points: It is important to note that for this detective NPC approach, the Detective is a white character ie. definitely innocent. As the detective only arrived after the incident. As a player, this can be picked by players who enjoy the investigative process, but does not enjoy being the culprit role, or having to defend from suspicion. When played by the GM, the detective acts as the GM's in-universe personification, allowing the GM to participate in character and will provide discussion facititation and additional infomation as appropriate. It also means that the GM will be more active an involved role in this case.
Player -> NPC Alternatively, missing characters can become static NPCs that do not requires GM involvement. This is commonly seen in GM less games. Usually the NPC characters are specified within the rulebook.
Main Points: With lesser players and lesser support for one side of the deduction process, game balance needs to be kept in mind. There are many mechanics that I've seen implemented, and I will share some below: Additional action points could be distributed to certain characters, decided thematically. Special NPC cards that are replaced or added to the game - This could be additonal NPC dialog cards, that gets read in the middle of the discusssion phase/or multiple cards that are read privately, which substitues the infomation that would be shared by a player.
Conclusion Incoporating player count flexibility is a concious choice that will require additional work and effort for the designer, not only that, player count flexibilty will fundamentally affect the original plot and the way the Jubensha is presented. Designers will have to make the decision whether to cater flexibilty or a strict "as envisioned" player count

Ok, so we have a really really really weird issue we've spent a whole day on and no one can figure it out. So, Im throwing a hail mary to this sub.
We have a client who uses a local file share server. They also leverage Todyl for network security. Todyl is installed on all devices; including the server. SecureDNS is configured, so any dns requests gets forwarded to the local dc, which is handling dhcp, dns, etc. and the dc has public dns forwarders.
Users come in Monday and only a few of them can access the shares. Everyone else gets a connectivity issue error and if you try to \\ or \\ in explorer we get a network error basically saying the workstation cannot find the server. Nothing has changed on the network and only a cumulative update for Server 2016 was installed the Saturday before. We rolled back this update; but the issue persisted. The server is pingable via IP and hostname and nslookup returns the correct internal IP. However, trying to access the shares constantly generates the connectivity issue error message.
As a test we created a share on the local workstation and confirmed we could successfully connect and browse it from the server using \\ and the IP. So, we ruled out a network issue; also, the firewall on both devices are disabled. We disabled Todyl on both machines and the issue continued. We can ping via IP and hostname, but cannot access the shares. We attempted to add a secondary IP to the nic, but the same issues are happening. Tracert showing the correct hop as well; it shows one hop directly to the server as expected. Something else we noticed is running a gpupdate/force returns an error message saying the policies could not be updated because the workstation cannot reach the sysvol directory.
Weirdly enough, the Todyl IP works flawlessly. We also have a tunnel configured between the office and todyl, so any device on the office network can route to the Todyl IP without any additional configuration needed. All devices with Todyl already installed can access the servers Todyl IP no matter their location. As a workaround we updated the dns in Todyl to resolve the server to the Todyl IP and added host file entries to allow anyone onsite w/out the todyl agent to still be able to route to the server. This even allows gpupdate to start working correctly. Its almost like the server is rejecting to serve anything and is only responding to pings.
We cannot for the life of use figure out why the server is responding on its local IP, but not allowing us to browse the file shares. We do not want to enable SMBv1 for obvious reasons and everything was working fine prior to this Monday. We are going to send an onsite tech out today to attempt to try to leverage the other nic on the server just in case that is the problem. Would love to hear any other recommendation.
