Heya guys!
A while back, a friend of mine offered to build me a Plex server. When he handed it over ā€“ a PC running a Linux server with Docker and 4x16 TB hard disks ā€“ it was riddled with problems. Being a noob with PCs and networking, I couldn't figure out how to fix it. My friend was often unavailable, so I decided to take matters into my own hands...
I reinstalled everything, opting for Windows instead of Linux. While I'm not great at this, I managed to set up a basic Plex server with SonarRadarr, Usenet, Torrents, and the whole shebang. It workedā€¦ for a bit. But I kept running into problems: driver errors and hard disk disconnects. As a self-proclaimed noob and an Apple user, I didn't have the time or expertise to troubleshoot it all. So, I set out to build a server I understood and could rely on...
I bought a refurbished Apple Mac Mini (M1) and an external RAID enclosure, only to realize my drives donā€™t fit. Turns out, I have SAS drives instead of SATA. I returned the enclosure and now Iā€™m stuck, not knowing how to proceed.
Hereā€™s what I have:
Thatā€™s it. No other gear. I've considered the following:
Please, for the love of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, help me out! Thanks!!

2024.05.15 18:58 flib_bib Moving to the UK, what do I need to know about pirating there?

I've lived in a couple of countries with zero anti piracy measures for about 10 years.
We're moving to the UK this summer. What do I need to know to keep sailing these waters?
I'm presuming a vpn (any suggestions? I currently have surfshark for streaming).
We typically download torrents of movies, TV and games. I might set up some pirate streaming stuff like a server when we get there (I'll have to do some homework on how!).

2024.05.15 16:50 darthnumbers Understanding issues with MKV

hey all, I'm not sure this is the correct forum for this, but I figured you pirates would know the most about MKV files... I've been [acquiring] anime for ages and finally set up my own media server via Jellyfin (essentially Plex but open source and free), and it's all running off a relatively medium powered media server PC in my house.
8GB RAM, GTX 710, nothing special going on here, but it SHOULD be enough for media.
I've noticed sometimes that MKV files (which is almost always anime) freak out a lot when viewing, the video will skip at certain places and the video stream gets all jarbled up. I figured maybe that was my media server not being able to decode and encode fast enough, but I've viewed the file multiple times on different computers (like copying the file itself and watching it locally, not just viewing it on jellyfin) and it always skips in the same place (I've been trying with just one file for my testing in the interests of science).
At that point it seems like an issue with the file, right? But it does happen with a lot of other files, and it's always MKV files. The odds that every torrent I'm acquiring is containing broken MKV files seems quite low... does anyone else experience this? Am I just crazy? Incredibly unlucky? doing something specifically wrong? I have very little experience in the realm of formats and encoding in this context (I come from an entirely audio background) so any help is appreciated.

2024.05.15 14:14 ALLEyezOnMe_XO Terrible Download Speeds on MacOS + External Disk

Hey guys,
So my girlfriend upgraded to a Macbook Air M1 from her old Windows (HDD) laptop and since we didn't want to put any unnecessary strain on her Mac's SSD, I decided to get her an external disk that she can download her torrents to. Said disk is connected to our router via an Orico USB 3.0 enclosure. Our hardware specs / setup is the following:
  1. Macbook Air M1 8GB RAM - the computer that qBittorrent and the Plex server are installed on
  2. TP-LINK Archer AX50 - the router to which I have physically connected the external disk
  3. WD 1TB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s 5400 RPM HDD - the first disk I tried
  4. Kingston A400 240GB SSD - the second disk I tried
  5. Gigabit internet connection with no throttling / "anti-torrenting policies"
No matter what kind of qBittorrent settings I tried (using both libtorrent versions of the application), we always get write cache overloads and terrible download speeds of up to 2MB/s, which fluctuate greatly. I initially thought that it may be the HDD's fault, which is why I replaced it with the SSD, but the outcome was exactly the same - there is write cache overload of up to 70% - 80% even at super low speeds. In contrast, I download at around 40MB/s on my Windows PC (internal disk), so the internet connection is not the problem, per se.
Do you have any idea what I should consider changing in terms of qBittorrent settings? Any advice will be greatly appreciated :)

2024.05.14 14:31 Exotic-Minimum1044 Nvidia Shield Pro + Plex SERVER + Rclone/RealDebrid

A couple of months I managed it to mount the RD-WebDav on the Nvidia Shield Pro. It was a pain at firstm but now Plex Server is running fine (besides bloating the internal storage up) and it's all working; it transcodes 4K videos and everything without serious issues (maybe 10 seconds buffering in the beginning) outside of my home-network.
Now I want to use plexdebrid or even zurg/debridmanager on Android, but there is no rclone_RD binary for Android yet and I don't understand zurg at all, but I guess it doesn't need to be run on the Shield itself, but anywhere, right? Only to connect with RD. At least that's what I understand so far. So for now I am still using the official rclone-version which has no RealDebrid option.
Is there any other way to mount the RD-WebDav on Android and splitting it up in folders like "movies" and "tv shows"? Can it be done with official rclone aswell? I haven't found anything yet.
P.S.: Also the torrent files will land in the trash of Plex after a scan - they are still there tho. Plex-Debrid also has the ability to keep them awake I guess. That's a very nice feature.

2024.05.14 12:19 MisplacedPhilosopher Haveno replaces LocalMonero from today as Monero sets new decentralization benchmark

Haveno has commenced operations from today replacing LocalMonero. Haveno sets a new benchmark in decentralization and privacy.
Why shut down LocalMonero?
Not many people would immediately use Haveno if LocalMonero continued to exist. Shutting down LocalMonero disrupts the ecosystem pushing users towards Haveno.
How is Haveno different?
LocalMonero had a website and also a centralized server where the website was hosted. This made people behind LocalMonero vulnerable to government action. Unlike LocalMonero, Haveno does not have any centralized server. The website is merely informational and does not facilitate any trades.
What can we do on Haveno?
You can buy Monero using Indian Rupees, US Dollars, Euros, GBP etc. You can also buy/sell BTC, ETH, BCH and LTC for Monero. Now no need to worry about KYC and taxes.
How does Haveno work?
It's a little bit like torrents. You download Haveno client and connect to a network. Anyone can start a network just like running a node (or seeding a torrent). Traders connect to any network of their choice and trade. It's all built on Tor so it is almost impossible to find out who is running the network or connecting to it. We hope to have many networks so it will impossible to take down Haveno. FIU cannot block any website or app. There are none!
Choose Monero, choose freedom!
If you really want to do crypto, get Monero. It is built to survive extreme censorship. Monero is money. It is not designed to be an investment.

Surfshark is a popular VPN service that has gained a strong reputation for its reliable performance and advanced features. In this Surfshark review, we will take a closer look at the pros and cons of using this VPN in 2024.

Pros of Surfshark

1. Enhanced Security: Surfshark offers top-notch security features, including AES-256 encryption, a strict no-logs policy, and a kill switch. With these features, you can browse the internet with peace of mind, knowing that your online activities are protected.
2. Unlimited Devices: One of the standout features of Surfshark is its ability to connect unlimited devices simultaneously with a single subscription. This is a great advantage for users who have multiple devices or want to share their VPN with family and friends.
3. Wide Server Network: Surfshark has an extensive server network, with servers in over 65 countries. This allows users to access geo-restricted content and bypass censorship, making it a great choice for streaming enthusiasts and travelers.

Cons of Surfshark

1. Speed Fluctuations: While Surfshark generally provides good connection speeds, some users have reported occasional fluctuations in speed. However, these instances are rare and do not significantly impact the overall browsing experience.
2. Limited Advanced Settings: Unlike some other VPN providers, Surfshark offers limited advanced settings for experienced users who prefer more customization options. However, for most users, the default settings are sufficient.
3. Fewer P2P Servers: Surfshark has a smaller number of dedicated P2P servers compared to some other VPNs. While this may not be a major issue for most users, it could impact the download speeds for heavy torrenting activities.
If you're looking for a reliable and feature-rich VPN service, Surfshark is definitely worth considering. Its strong security, unlimited device connections, and wide server network make it a great choice for both privacy and entertainment purposes.

2024.05.14 10:30 Pigik83 The Lab #47: Scraping real time data with Python

Hey folks! šŸš€ Have you ever dived into the world of web scraping, especially on sites buzzing with data like Bitstamp's trade view? Let me share a nugget of knowledge that might just transform the way you collect data.
You see, when you're dealing with websites that update as frequently as a heart beats in a sprint, the usual HTTP requests just wonā€™t cut it. We're entering the realm of WebSockets, my friendsā€”a protocol that's akin to having a direct phone line to the server, allowing for real-time data dance between you and the server. šŸ“ˆ
What makes WebSockets stand out? Itā€™s all about the speed and efficiency for me. Instead of the traditional back-and-forth with HTTP, WebSockets establish a two-way street, allowing messages to flow freely and instantly. This means you can catch every single change in live trades, peek into the order book, or watch the ticker tape parade without missing a beat.
Now, onto the fun partā€”Bitstamp's trade view. This platform is a playground for those who thrive on the adrenaline of live financial data. By tapping into WebSockets, you subscribe to a stream of information, unleashing a torrent of data on every trade and price twitch. šŸ“Š
Imagine this: instead of waiting for data to refresh, you're seeing it unfold in real-time. Itā€™s like having a front-row seat to the financial marketsā€™ heartbeat. By mastering some basic real-time scraping techniques that leverage WebSockets, you can start collecting this flood of data with precision. Itā€™s not just about the information; it's about capturing the moment it happens.
So, for anyone looking to get their feet wet in web scraping or elevate their game, exploring how to tap into WebSocket-powered sites like Bitstampā€™s trade view might just be your next big adventure. Happy data hunting! šŸŒāœØ

2024.05.14 01:55 flwwhtrbt Mini Pirate News

Well, let's wrap up what I've found at the very least interesting in the last couple weeks for pirates and purists alike! This one is very small, not much happening lately!
Sony:
As maybe you've seen, there's no better indication that 'if they don't let you buy it, then pirate it' than Sony delists Ghost of Tsushima PC from various Steam regions, much like Helldivers 2 saw.

Following Sony's decision last week to delist Helldivers 2 in 170 regions worldwide on Steam, it seems this will be the firm's PC stance moving forward, and it has since done the same for the imminent PC release of Ghost of Tsushima. More regions have been added to the list, taking the total number of territories affected to 180, which is now consistent across both titles.
Previously, Sony has said that Ghost of Tsushima's single player offering would be unaffected by this additional requirement. The game's Steam Page still states that a PSN account is required to play the Legends multiplayer mode, but it was delisted anyway. Due to the open nature of Valve's platform, these changes are pretty visible, and including Sucker Punch's primarily single player open world epic in this blanket ban comes as a legitimate surprise.
SteamDB's post here shows the refund.
This is bullshit. The good news? Sony do not use Denuvo for their PC games, so it will be available as soon as possible to be pirated.

Rockstar:
By all accounts, it looks like Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption will be releasing on PC - in line with their usual tactics of releasing on a console platform and leaving PC for last, at least it will (probably) be coming to PC.

Denuvo:
A Denuvo 'outage' made a completely single-player game Persona 5 unplayble - amusingly Denuvo claim that "there was no outage related to its servers at this time"
The thing we can take away from this is Denuvo sucks, and it's just better to play the damn thing via Yuzu or Ryujinx.

Related, we now see that it is confirmed that Homeworld 3 will release with Denuvo. The only good news is that Gearbox is one of the few publishers who remove Denuvo. So...just wait for this one.

And Star Wars Battlefront (2015) regarded by most to be 'uncrackable' due to its online only nature has been cracked by the new-to-the-scene-but-kicking-bum-and-cracking-older-games Delusional - which is amazing. You can play offline. I've noticed KaOs has their repack up for it now.

Just...interesting and useful:
This video guide via YouTuber 'MonroeWorld' shows you how to SSHFS - mount your Steam Deck as a Windows drive.
"Access your Deck's storage using whatever file manager or tools you want ON AND FROM Windows. In a few minutes, you can copy roms, access compatdata, backup/restore save files and more without ever leaving the comfort of Windows. In about ten minutes, you will have your common Steam Deck locations mounted as drive letters in Windows - accessing them just like any other Windows drive"
Here is a github link for a GUI for the sshfs manager
Even better u/ReplacementFun53 has a full written guide on how to do so here!!! - 100% what you should be checking out, it's perfect!

FitGirl:
Has a new section on her page (remember, always use the official site, not one of the dodgy rip-offs) Updates now have their own sub-section on her page for games which have, you guessed it, been recently updated - called Updates Digest. Super handy! I love seeing these kind of incremental UX updates, yay!

Hydra Launcher:
Hydra is an open-source launcher released in the last few weeks by the Brazilian community. Being able to download and launch games from fitgirl and dodi - it has/is a torrent client, automatically applies metadata for games, emulators and roms; seems to hope to be an all-in-one piracy portal. Personally, I prefer to manually add games from trusted links myself. But I'm paranoid. At least it is interesting.

Hydra is a free open game launcher focused on being 100% safe, self-sufficient, ad-free, without registration, without subscription and without waiting times.
Hydra combines games from platforms like Steam and Epic Games with trackers from repackers/crackers known and trusted by the pirate gaming community (such as Fitgirl, Dodi and KaOsKrew.
The game downloads are done directly through the platform, as we have our own private torrent protocol.
Hydra currently has the capability to search among a list of more than 13,000 repacks posted in secure places on the internet, but not limited to that. being self-sufficient, Hydra can navigate the trackers not only looking for updates of games that are already registered but also for games that have just been released.

Lastly the AMA with Dodi:
Well and truly locked in for the 16th. I have a post pinned at the top of PiratedGames, and have just reached out to the mods of Piracy about posting in their sub letting the users know what is happening. I also just posted in his discord server (at his behest). The only thing yet to be determined will be the exact time, for Americans it may be the 15th (your time), but...time-zones fry my brain so I don't know. Really excited about having him come by, the repacker scene is fascinating to me, so I can't wait to hear what he says.

Guides?
I'm working on one lil guide since its been awhile since my last. Most probably will post after the aforementioned AMA.

Lastly?
Thanks to all of you, we're nearing 17k members here and you're all super lovely. This is such a strange sub-reddit because everyone is so damned nice. I just wanted to thank you all for being here, it makes it so nice.
If you wanted to show off your Deck's home screen - then this post a couple days ago is where you can do it!

Thanks, all <3

2024.05.13 19:51 CanExports Moving files from 'download' NMVe to disk, whilst satisfying 14 day torrent seeding

Hey folks,
I am rebuilding my 14 year old server to more current specs and want to make use of the tech that Unraid/Plex have to offer. Right now I download on windows using Deluge and manually transfer to Unraid (no cache) after 14 days of seeding.
Two schools of thought here.
  1. New server will be headless. Will have an NMVe cache drive. Download directly, using windows PC, onto Unraid cache. Move files after 15 days automatically but concerned that my windows deluge will break or not allow the cache move since the files in the cache would be 'in use' by Windows PC (Deluge).
  2. New server will be headless. Will NOT have an NMVe cache drive as it's not needed? Download torrents using unraid and sonnarr (need to look into this and how to specify which folders the files know to go into (TV, Movies, Documentaries etc), then have deluge automatically stop seeding after 15 days.
I have never used Unraid to download torrents before and would wonder how to navigate the torrent sites via the server.
I am open to more suggestions because I don't know what I don't know

2024.05.13 16:58 CommercialBee6585 Reborn as a Fantasy General (Army-Building Isekai) Chapter 43

[Previous] [First] [Patreon] [Next]
Upon the tallest silo of Fleapit's foundries, a duel was about to break out that would determine the fate of the entire Underkingdom.
Marcus often recalled tales of such duels in the books he loved to peruse as a child ā€“ fanciful stories of men and women going off to conquer fantastical realms and slaying dragons or witch covens after proclaiming the inherent purity of the human spirit.
Such tales rouse the hearts of young men. They become the same young men who run off to wars thinking that mass combat will afford them the same kind of moral superiority.
For Marcus - a man trapped in an ugly rendition of one such world - such superiority was a luxury he would never have. Heroes are supposed to bandy words with demons. They are supposed to show their valor in righteous battle.
But the battle that unfolded atop Fleapit's highest point was not honorable. It was not righteous.
Instead, one armored rat brought his vicious halberd to bear against two humanoid snake-hybrids, and the strikes they made were to kill, not to entertain their spectator.
First, the youngling threw Marcus aside and leaped directly for Festicus. The ratman anticipated the attack, shifting his weight to his right to sidestep and cleave the snake-woman from belly to breast. The attack was one of pure, raw strength, but it was one burdened by the heaviness of the creature's weapon. In the moment of impact the young Yokun twirled and slashed at the ratman's exposed neck, her blade coming away with his crimson blood gleaming along its edge.
He staggered, dropping to his knees just in time for the Matron to came at him with her mercy strike.
A strike that he met with his bare teeth.
His head jerked up. His mouth opened in a snarl, and Marcus saw his fangs clamp down on the blade as it entered its throat. The Matron's eyes narrowed as she tried to free the blade, watching the ratman's gums fill with gushing blood as the Wakizashi's edge nicked his tongue. Then, in her moment of pure confusion, his halberd swept the Yokun elder's feet.
"Sister!"
Festicus smirked as he felt movement behind him ā€“ the youngling spinning in a deadly pirouette that struck for his armored spine. The blessings of He-Who-Festers was with the ratman on this day, for the Yokun's blade merely pierced the outer layer of his armored hide and ripped the metal pieces away, letting them fall in a hail of iron that rained down on the spectators watching the small snippets of the battle they could see below.
The ratman thrust the pole of his weapon back to knock against the ribs of the youngling and push her almost straight off the silo's precarious platform to join the bloody mess that was her sister below.
"MMMHMMM!" Marcus wheezed from his position, still gagged. He couldn't help it. This fight was showing him just how skilled the Marrow rat truly was. And it was telling him that his spirit was still loyal to his Shai-Alud after all.
As Festicus turned to hack away at the thin leathers of young Yeeva's chest, the Matron regained her footing. She sent a flurry of blows angled down at the ratman's armpit joints that struck faster than Marcus's eyes could follow. All he saw, when he blinked, was that Festicus was reeling back, his mouth, elbows, and arms all bleeding profusely, coating the dark metal of the silo in his life fluids.
The Matron brought her youngblood back up to her knees, and both of them angled their blades at the mauled rat before them.
"Sire..Marcus," Festicus groaned, drawing his eyes towards the human huddled at the edge of the bloody platform.
With a single twist of his claws he ripped through Marcus's gag and the human heaved a wail of release.
"Festicus," he said, trying to maintain his commanding tone. "Stand. Down."
"I would listen to your monkey friend," the Matron spat through her smiling lips. "You face two Sisters of the House of Whispers, little cretin. We have slain more of your kind than you can count."
Festicus rose steadily, using his halberd to push up from the floor of the platform as the two Yokun circled, both picking their target that would end the miserable ratman's life.
"Clan Marrowā€¦" he wheezed. "Neverā€¦backā€¦down."
He turned to Marcus abruptly after coughing a torrent of dark crimson.
"I will be livingā€¦to seeā€¦those cannons," he sputtered as he brought his halberd back up, holding it across his chest straight backed and regal, like some Arabian prince's honor guard. "In the name of Clan and Kingā€¦I will be livingā€¦to seeā€¦our victory!"
Both women's blades flashed through the air, trailing arcs of brilliant light as they curved to bring death upon the beleaguered ratman.
And the eyes of the rat flew to Marcus's as he swept up his halberd to meet the Matron's strike at his right flank.
The Wakizashi of the youngling flew to cleave through his ribcage to the left, and it would have done so if she had merely followed through.
Instead, Marcus watched as her arm writhed like it had a will of its own. She dropped her weapon and it slid across the platform while she screamed in agony ā€“ an animal scream that pierced not only the air, but the ears of her Sister who was taken off balance by the sudden change in her companion's demeanor.
And that opening was all Festicus needed cut right into her waist.
She opened her mouth in a gasp, arms flying to dislodge the blade while the ratman that held it grit his teeth and pushed through her scaled skin with all the force left in his hulking frame.
"SHAAAAAA-HAH!"
Marcus watched awestruck as the Matron's torso was cleaved clean through. Her legs flopped beneath the purple-soaked blade of Festicus's halberd while the rest of her body spun in the air, crumbled, and fell back to the platform in a heap of twitching limbs.
"SISTER!" Yeeva screamed, her arms still gyrating with a life of their own as Festicus collapsed to one knee, seeing the ghostly form of someone familiar appear just over the lip of the platform's north face.
"Byā€¦the Uncleanā€¦" he wheezed. "Could you not be comingā€¦a littleā€¦more early?"
The hooded rat man that had his eyes trained on the twitching Yokun before him twisted his face into a smile.
"A Gloomrava of Glumrot isssss coming exxxxxactly when he issssss needing to."
"Look out!"
The shout came from Marcus as his eyes flew to the still spasming Yokun Matron's body. In a macabre display of pure, uncanny willpower, her fingers wrapped round her blade and sent it spinning towards the tiny legs of the newly arrived priest, drawing a cry of agony from him that sounded more like the shrill wailing of the undead than the pained voice of a rat.
Festicus watched his Brother go down and made to rise again to finish off the last female, but this time the Yokun youngling was faster ā€“ spurned on by the death of her senior.
She met Festicus' sweeping strike with such fury that the ratman was sent staggering back, and, holding the blade of her Matron in her hand, got the other around the ratman's throat and held him down, her nails penetrating deep into his neck and drawing tiny trickles of blood that traveled through her scaled veins.
"Miserable, scaleless swine!" she railed, pushing her Wakizashi closer and closer to the ratman's face, watching the life in his eyes and strength in his arms gradually fade away to nothing. "Vlitark take the Matriarch! You all die here and now!"
Festicus's arms began to give way. The power to even bite back at the vengeance-filled face of the snake was going ā€“ it was draining away like the rest of his blood. It seemed he would have to be satisfied with slaying one of them. An honor most of his Clan would still respect him for, even if it had to be in deathā€¦
But before he closed his eyes he saw the Yokra's go wide. He saw the passionate fires of fury die away on her scaled features and then felt the wet spew of her blood that had just spurted from beneath her chest. Both ratman and Yokun looked down to see where her discarded Wakizashi had just penetrated her lower abdomen and, as the blade was twisted, Yeeva finally fell to the side.
And revealed the human standing above her who had just stabbed her in the back.
Festicus wanted to laugh then more than any other time in his life. But, try as he might, all he could manage was a slight smile.
"You trulyā€¦areā€¦having the soulā€¦of a rat," he wheezed.
And as Marcus bent down to check the vitals of the ratman, discovering, too late, that there was nothing more to be done, Festicus of Clan Marrow closed his eyes and left the world of the Underkingdom behind.

2024.05.13 12:59 Brunko22 Dell Optiplex 3070 i5 9500 as home server

Hello everyone, I bought a Dell Optiplex 3070 with an i5 9500 and 8GB of RAM (which I might upgrade to 16GB later on). It has a small SSD and an HDD.
I would like to use this PC as a home server, specifically for:
Do you think I can perform all these activities simultaneously? What operating system do you recommend? Thanks for your advice.

2024.05.13 09:20 TryTurningItOffAgain Transcode error only for newly added episodes/movies

Server log: https://pastebin.com/ZASrwu9S
This issue gets fixed if I remove the file from the directory, go to plex and delete the movie, then move the file back and let plex rediscover it.
But I can't do that for every single new video. Not sure what's causing it.
I'm wondering if it could be this: https://imgur.com/a/CgD1Mu3
Where I set qbittorrent to remove the torrent and files after seeding ratio hits 1.0.
Seems to be hardlinking properly. Although qbittorrent does remove the file from its torrent folder, the file remains in the proper plex library folder. As a matter of fact, the file in question in my logs is still seeding, so it hasn't been removed yet by qbittorrent.

2024.05.13 01:19 JacketNext6123 Moving server

Hi guys
I have setup zurg with Real debrid torrent client. I am hoping to move to a better server in the next day or too. Is it just as simple as setting up zurg etc on the new server and copy over my symlink directory then mount the real debrid mount. I am aware zurg has a built in database for tracking links etc so I would assume that would also need moved over?

2024.05.13 01:06 FalcoPwnch Unable to download torrent files directly to another remote PC on my Tailscale network? (Running Linux Mint)

This might be more of a question for a different sub.... but I'm curious if you all can point me in the right direction here...
I'm kind of a linux/selfhosting noob. I have several devices all connected on a Tailscale network, which works fantastically well.
I have a server PC that is basicallly just an old PC that I have re-dedicated to be the home server.
issue is: Let's say that I am on my laptop, remotely, and I want to save a torrent file directly to my server PC. And I am using QBittorrent, for example.... I cannot figure out how to select the Server PC file path to where I want.
When I am downloading any other file directly through my browser, for example, I am able to see the file path that I need in my my explorer. But for some reason, when I am prompted to choose the file path to save a torrent file I am downloading... I just can't figure out how to find the file path to my "server" PC.
Apologies for the novice-level language, just wondering if there is any glaring, obvious tweak that I should make or any suggestion that stands out to you all. Thanks!

2024.05.12 12:55 achilleasa Is there a way to use qbit as a thin client?

I'd like to move my torrenting from my pc to my home server and operate it remotely, I like and am used to the qbit UI so I'd love to keep using it as a thin client. Is it possible? If not what's the closest alternative?

2024.05.12 11:22 Left_Ad_4737 Looking for a more economical 5U case.

Hey everyone,
I've recently built a Threadripper 7960X system with the Asus TRX50 Sage motherboard (SSI-CEB).
The case I chose for this was the Fractal Torrent Compact, which has turned out to be a bit of a mistake: * Things are tight in there, to say the least. * I'm struggling with the aesthetics of the case. I wanted something that looked more industrial and "engineering"-ey, not something that would flash RGB lights at me (not that I've connected the RGB stuff anyway, the motherboard also doesn't feature any RGB pins). * Cable management in this case is a nightmare. The right side of the case barely has any space, and you need to route the heavy wires from the top. Not ideal and will not look organised.
I've finally decided to take the plunge into rack mount cases and getting a proper (small) rack mount that can fit under my desk (70cm max).
I came across the very nice looking RM52, but I find them extremely expensive (but damn these cases are nice).
So I'm in the market for a new PC case, something similar to the RM52 but at a lower price.
I have checked out the lower priced RM4* cases; but my Arctic Freezer 4U-M cooler will be pretty darn close to the top. So, ideally, the case should also be 5U, which seem to be few.
This post is also not too promising for the cooler compatibility with a 4U chassis.
Before I take the plunge and make the order, is there anything I should be aware of? And, are there cheaper options on the market? Most of my searches have been futile so far.
Thanks in advance!

2024.05.12 05:24 Superb-Knee Sharing my 7060 SFF server build over the past month or so

Sharing my 7060 SFF server build over the past month or so
Been lurking in this sub for about a month, so I figured I should share my system. Picked up this 7060 SFF for $130 a while back with an i5-8500, 500 GB M.2, and 16GB of RAM. Over the past few weeks Iā€™ve been slowly adding more to the build, such as 16 GB of RAM, 2 2TB 860 EVO SSDā€™s, and an Arc A310 single slot GPU (for transcoding purposes only). Also cleaned and repasted the CPU/cooler. Currently itā€™s running Proxmox on bare metal and Iā€™m primarily using it as a shared media server with friends and family (a few LXC containers for VPN, Jellyfin/Jellyseer, and one VM I use as a torrenting client). Very impressed and happy with how itā€™s doing so far, but I can already tell I need to look into more storage for the media server lol. Learning everything as I go and excited to keep on developing this machine as my own little home server!
