Crk small sebenza backspacer: $75 Jekyll to Hyde Designs. I installed this one on a knife and carried it a few times but it still looks new. Everything needed to install is included.
Crk small sebenza deep carry clip: $30 I forget who makes this one, I think lynch? It’s been so long since I got it, either way it is glass blasted and not sandblasted. So be aware of that if you have a sand blasted sebenza and you want it to match perfectly.
Crk small inkosi backspacer: $75 Jekyll to Hyde Designs. Installed this one but decided I didn’t like how it looked. Has not been carried, comes with everything needed.

2nd car I've purchased from CarMax. First one was a 2018 Passat - loved it. Was ready for something new. Shipped a 2022 Taos SE to my local CarMax. It didn't come with options that it said it did on the website. I thought I could live without the blindspot assist so bought it on a Thursday. By that Monday, I found the same color SEL model with all the bells and whistles. Only upgrade it didn't come with was the moon roof. Returned the first car and bought the second (11K miles on the SE vs 35K miles on the SEL, $74 price difference). Both had clean titles, no accidents. I've had this 2nd car now for 14 days.
Took it to VW to have it inspected. I noticed a squeaking noise when I hard turned right or left. VW said it believe I would need a new steering rack and that CarMax usually sends it to them for repair. I asked them to update the infotainment and 24IR upgrade. All good to go. Everything was to be covered under not only the VW warranty but also CarMax's 4K warranty. Took it to CarMax today for the official service center report so as to be able to set up the repair with VW.
BECAUSE OF THIS BOARD (thanks, everyone), I asked the mechanics to check the head gasket because of the known slow leak coolant issue. Guess what? The head gasket needs to be replaced (they even included pictures) along with the steering rack. Everything is covered and CarMax will give me a loaner vehicle for however long it takes to get the car fixed. VW doesn't have availability until the end of June.
MY QUESTION (if you've made it this far). Do I just return this car to CarMax? The contact I've known at VW says I absolutely should as I have 16 more days (or 600 more miles) to return this 2nd car. He said at 35K miles, I don't need to buy a car with these issues already. It's not the repairs (again, all covered under warranty), but that I'm opening myself to a world of potential issues if these two issues are already happening. Side Note: Also purchased the 125K CarCare package)
Clearly...I cannot make good decision! I want to return this car and ask CarMax to ship to me (at their cost) a comparable Taos (or Tiguan) because of the time I've already wasted on this car - how the heck could it have passed an inspection for them to even sell it to me?

Almost three months ago, (starting from 5/21/2024), I was done with a shift at my job, (not gonna say what business for my anonymity), and was getting ready to bike home. After getting on the bike, I rode to the main street that would get me to the highway, and stopped at the intersection, where the light was red for a couple minutes. While waiting, a white or gray car came up on my left, (that color detail is somewhat fuzzy), and the driver pulled the passenger side window down, and spoke to me.
What they said shocked me, as I never expect someone to say that to me, much less on the roadway. Just to give a picture, the driver was a Black man, maybe late twenties to early thirties, (somewhere in that range), wearing some tan shorts, a black T-shirt, and a black baseball-style cap, (from what I could see without being intrusive), and he said the following: "Get off the road B-word!" And I was understandably shocked, thinking, "Why the heck would someone say that to a random biker?"
Am I the jerk for biking on the road?

I know I'm not the jerk. It's perfectly legal for someone to ride a bike on the road, so long as you follow traffic laws, and be aware of your surroundings. What the guy said was uncalled for, and very random. If he got some joy from insulting people, (if that's what he was doing), that's his problem. I'm honestly not bothered by that, and I figured this would be a nice story to tell.

A few days ago I was in the mines fishing for a hypnotic moray as its the last thing I need to finish my Vault of the Roots bundles. I randomly ended up catching a void ray and got so happy!! I'm not new to the game but can only play a few hours a week so am progressing pretty slow so it was my first Epic fish and was caught with a fine rod and no boosts! I was sad at the thought of having to give it up for the spooky bundle though so kept it in my lockbox with the thought I'd try catch another one as one of the last bundle things I do expecting this to be a one off piece of luck for a newbie fisherman like me. Today I was fishing again for the hypnotic moray (which I still haven't got!!) with my upgraded exquisite rod and some bubbles appeared which I fished expecting stone or blob fish. Instead I caught a star quality void ray!!! OMG I thought, how lucky am I!!!!! I then fished the other bubbles that had appeared.... AND I CAUGHT ANOTHER STAR QUALITY VOID RAY!!!!!! TWO IN A ROW!! and then about 15 fish caught later I caught ANOTHER NORMAL VOID RAY!! Like these are meant to be epic fish?? And I caught 3 in the space of like 15 real life minutes?? And I still haven't ever caught so many rare fish. My luck must have been off the charts and I'm now expecting to not get anything I need for like a month

this is the current setup. my last hair cut was october 2023(last picture) and i got layers.
it’s definitely grown out since then..all i do is wash my hair and brush it when i get out the shower. i know i have wavy hair(it was quite curly in the back when i was younger) and overtime i ruined it by straightening my hair constantly. i haven’t used heating products since may 2023 and i got a LOT of hair cut in october(my hair went past my butt) so i figured a lot of the dead hair was cut off.
i used to use Herbal Essence ‘color care’ shampoo and Herbal Essence ‘Hydrate Coconut water’ conditioner. now i use TRESemme ‘rich moisture hyaluronic plex’ shampoo & conditioner. i switched maybe a month ago because i noticed my hair feeling dry and getting a lot more dandruff than usual. there’s maybe been a tiny difference but the dandruff is still annoying. my boyfriend says it’s just because of the humidity in georgia.
i know dyed hair isn’t helping me any but my hair is so thick(and healthy i hope) that i’ve never had negative effects when bleaching my hair, which has been a lot. i went from $3 box dye black for 3 years to bleaching half of it blonde, dyed pink, then months later i bleached the other side and went pink.
my hair feels soft and it’s pretty the day i wash it but every day after it looks awkward. i wear a bonnet to sleep every night as well.
any advice is appreciated :)

Hey friends, As a kid I fished all the time with my dad and absolutely loved it. 20 years have gone by and I desperately want to get back into it but I'm so out of the loop that I don't know where to start and it's quite frankly intimidating to know what I need to get as starting gear and tackle. My daughter is getting out of her toddler phase and I would love to teach her to fish.
Hoping for some friendly advice on how to get started again - recommended rods, lures, bait, locales, or literature. I'm in Colorado (front range), looking to do some lakeside fishing, either casting or using a jig. Don't need anything fancy for a reel but there are 1000 choices at Dick's.

Today, let's learn about the panda pattern in German Shepherds! Though panda German Shepherds are often thought to be mixed breeds, the panda pattern is only present in German Shepherds. Let's get into why.
HISTORY: The panda pattern was a mutation that first appeared on October 4th, 2000 when a puppy called ''Lewcinka's Franka Von Phenom'' was born. She was the only puppy out of the whole litter that had these unusual white markings and blue eyes (a picture of her will be posted in the comments). The pairing that produced her was repeated, but all of the puppies in the second litter turned out normal colored. Franka was DNA tested to see if she was mixed breed, but the results confirmed that she was indeed a purebred German Shepherd, though that is still up for debate to this day. Franka was health tested and later bred, with more panda puppies being born, meaning that panda is a dominant trait. Today, we can see pandas of different breeding paths and colors, some better and some worse, but if they truly are panda german shepherds (NOT piebald, those are 2 completely seperate and different genes), then they are all descendants of Franka.
GENETICS: Panda is a new gene and not as researched as many others, but we do know some things about it. The panda marking is a result of a dominant mutation of the KIT gene, or the CD117 gene. The panda markings are NOT caused by the S gene that causes piebald or irish spotting. The way to correctly write a panda dog's genotype is to write N/P (A non-panda dog would be N/N). No homozygous panda (P/P or double panda) puppies have ever been born as they get absorbed in the womb.
So, how does panda look and what does it do? Panda removes pigment and turns some places of the dog white. The pattern is seen mostly on the dog's paws, legs, chest, neck, and muzzle. There have been no cases of pandas who have white past their shoulder blades or on their back. If you see a German Shepherd with white on their whole body (not recessive red), it is piebald, not panda.
The panda pattern can also cause lack of pigment in a dog's eyes, making them blue, like in the case of Franka. A panda dog can have either two normal color eyes, two blue eyes, 1 blue and 1 normal color eye, or sectoral heterochromia (which causes different sectors of an individuals eyes to be different colors) in one or both eyes. Blue eyes are mostly seen in pandas with white around their eyes or white close to their eyes. Their eye color isn't caused by crossbreeding and you can see this by comparing a blue eyed panda to it's non-panda offspring. The puppy won't have blue eyes as it doesn't lack pigment.
No color related deafness has been seen in panda German Shepherds.
As panda causes white on the dog's body, you can sometimes see ticking. It can be extreme and not look white (Like in Australian Cattle Dogs) or it can be almost fully white. Ticking can't be tested for so unless your dog has white on their body, you can't know if they carry for ticking or not. All panda puppies will be born with bright white on their coats, but they might develop ticking when they're older.
Panda is a pattern that can be on any other non true white color or pattern. That means that panda dogs can be black, blue, liver, isabella, sable, saddleback, etc, and even recessive red (although it would be harder to see, especially if the dog doesn't have blue eyes).
HEALTH: There have been no color related health defects observed in panda German Shepherds.
The panda pattern itself doesn't have any health defects, but there is a controversy related to breeding pandas. Breeding a panda to a non-panda results in a 50% chance of panda puppies and 50% chance of non-panda puppies. However, breeding panda to panda results in a 25% chance of non-panda puppies, 50% chance of panda puppies, and 25% chance of double pandas, with the double panda puppies getting absorbed in the womb. This would mean that if puppies were born exactly with those odds, you'd lose 25% of the puppies before they're even born. This also means that in most panda to panda breedings, you're losing some or even all of the puppies, even if the mating was successful. Of course, this is not the same as merle to merle breeding in dogs like Border Collies where double merle puppies are often born and born with defects. And of course, as all pandas originate from a single dog, the two parents for sure are realted, closely or distantly. IN GERMAN SHEPHERDS: The biggest problem for panda German Shepherds is actually misinformation. Uneducated people claiming that pandas are mixes is nothing new (especially given Franka's pedigree), but it's also not a big concern when it comes to education about panda GSDs. The real issue is incorrect articles, posts written like fact when the information is false. A good example of that is the constant claims that ''panda is the same as piebald'' which is very, very incorrect (I will be posting about piebald GSDs next). Another issue is that due to it being relatively new in the breed, it's not very well understood.
