2024.05.15 19:19 ShinySephiroth Question on Modern Power Girl

I dropped off of following the continuity after Death Metal/Infinite Frontier. I'm trying to catch up and am confused about Power Girl. Here is my understanding:
Golden Age Power Girl was one of the non-Earth-One survivors of CoIE to live on New Earth and (Watsonian, not Doylean) had a spell cast on her causing her to forget her Kryptonian origin until Psycho Pirate repaired her memories for Infinite Crisis. She and the JSA, from the perspective of New Earth (soon to become Earth 0), are eventually given the Wally West treatment by Dr. Manhattan and are scrubbed from existence for his New 52 experiment, post-Flashpoint.
Here's where it gets fun! iirc the last panels of the Convergence event hints that the New 52 Earth 2 heroes are the "reincarnations" of the pre-Flashpoint JSA so, taking that into account (which now seems to be wrong?), Kara Zor-L was put back on Earth 2 and was its Supergirl until a Boom Tube displaced her and Helena Wayne/Robin onto Earth 0 (main New 52 Earth). They have their adventures there, becoming Power Girl and Huntress respectively, before eventually returning to Earth 2 (leaving Tanya Spears and Helena Bertinelli of Earth 0 to take over those mantles, again respectively). Kara and Helena soon gain a new planet in their Earth 2 universe and seemingly live happily ever after, with Helena Wayne dropping the Huntress alias to become Batman while the comic insinuates that Kara returned to having "Super" in her name due to her updated costume.
Around the time they were wrapping this up Rebirth happened, with Wally West returning and slowly beginning the restoration of pre-Flashpoint memories and revealing that Earth 0 is actually a manipulated New Earth (with events like Superman Reborn and Milk Wars further warping this universe, inching it more and more to be like it was pre-New 52). During this time, Deathstroke created a short-lived Teen Titans alternative team (Defiance) that included Tanya Spears. The last issue of this team showed Tanya getting her consciousness stuck in another plane of existence with... a Kara/Power Girl. Perplexingly, she is wearing her pre-Flashpoint costume but the two seem to recognize each other.
All versions of Power Girl are then in limbo until Doomsday Clock. Dr. Manhattan during this arc is shown the light by Superman's goodness and undoes the final pieces of his universe manipulation, restoring the JSA... including Kara (I did not remember Huntress being in the mix). This leads the reader (at least me) to wonder if this is a return of the pre-Flashpoint Power Girl, or if these are the New 52 Earth 2 heroes placed "back" on Earth 0 with their "real" identities restored. This latter interpretation is an attempt to bring in that Convergence panel mentioned earlier, but as I write this I recall how Jay Garrick was able to burst through the Speed Force during "The Button" to try and anchor himself back on Earth 0/New Earth (though it doesn't work). This seems to be strong evidence that pre-Flashpoint Jay Garrick and New 52 Jay Garrick are, indeed, two different people and that the Convergence panel was either stating they are "in spirit" the reincarnations of their former selves, or they misunderstood what Geoff Johns had planned, or things changed behind the scenes (leaning toward the latter).
For Kara, this is heavily insinuates to me that the Doomsday Clock version of her is the actual pre-Flashpoint version and that her New 52 Earth 2 counterpart is just a separate "variant". The Kara from Doomsday Clock is then thrust into action during various events, including Infinite Frontier & Dark Crisis. This leads to her... interesting... interpretation (from what I've seen so far) in Dawn of DC that acknowledges her entire story arc pre-Flashpoint... but then has her acting more like Cartoon Network Starfire, sooo...?
I haven't gotten this far yet in the readings - apparently Dawn of DC Power Girl meets a Helena Wayne for Johns' JSA revival... For those who have read this, due to this Helena being from a potential future timeline, this is not the same Helena Wayne from New 52 Earth 2, correct? I can only guess that those versions are still out there because I heard that New 52 Earth 2 Val Zod appears in an early Dawn of DC Superman issue, so this causes me more confusion because Dawn of DC Power Girl #1 states that Kara Zor-L's current origin maintains her status being from Earth 2... does this mean there are two Earth 2s now?
I'm guessing they haven't directly addressed this, but I'm reaching out here to see if anyone knows because they've read more issues than someone should and they found hidden hints that help rectify all of this.
Here's a summary of sticking points for me:
1) New 52 Earth 2 Kara seemingly appears in a void wearing her pre-Flashpoint costume even though last we saw her very recently donning a "Super" costume so it is unclear which version of Kara we saw (perhaps Tanya thought it was "her" Kara?)
2) Pre-Flashpoint Kara seemingly returning as a separate character, leaving the status of the 2 other Power Girls shown post-Flashpoint up in the air
3) Evidence points to current Earth 2 still being the one shown in Multiversity and New 52, causing issues with current Power Girl stating she originated on Earth 2... so did they merge the two characters or are there now two Earth 2s?
I know the easy answer is "writers messed up", but I'd like to see if we can either find evidence of them knowing what they're doing or, if not, fancraft an answer.

2024.05.15 16:10 gimmethelootexe Is traveling for love worth it as an Asian-American with no dating life in the US?

Hello, I wanted to hear fellow Asian-Americans’ thoughts after explaining my situation and experiences as a way of seeking advice. I’ll list things in a random order. And for reference, I’m a Filipino born in the US.
The first time I traveled across the pond was to Europe, specifically to London, Amsterdam, and Kraków. I practically worshipped Europe at the time and thought of it as a wonderland. I don’t want to say specifically, but I experienced romance for the first time since high school. However, things didn't go too well in the end when we messaged each other after parting ways. When I finished my trip, I yearned to come back and stay longer than a week. This was two years ago.
Last year, I visited my ex-girlfriend from Poland for a month and I had the best time of my life. It was really nice spending time with someone the whole time while abroad, seeing her for the first time during our long-distance relationship. However, things changed, and it feels like I don’t have that similar, personal obligation to travel anymore. She was my first girlfriend. I don’t know if I’ve spoiled myself by always wanting to be with someone to travel and stay with, especially someone who I know and love.
I do have aunts and uncles who live in England and the Netherlands, and I’ve visited before and had a good time when I was with them, but I don’t know if I’ll be a nuisance and bother them.
Last autumn, I was in the Netherlands, and I got a really cute Indo-Dutch waitress’s number at a restaurant. I remember my aunt telling me how much she looked at me during our conversation with her. I wanted to see her again, but I was only there for a week and she said she was too busy with university and work. I’ve thought about her ever since.
From last December to mid-January, I was at the Philippines seeing family for the first time with my mom and had a good experience celebrating New Years there. I met a Russian girl at Boracay, and I thought she was the one, but she led me on and was interested in her ex from Moscow.
I’ll admit, I’m a hopeless romantic and simple-minded, and I don’t know if I travel for the right reasons. I don’t often experience romance in the States, and it either feels emptying, lonely, or indifferent at times. Girls always say they’re too busy with their schedules, but when I travel, most girls abroad are willing to spend time with me. I prefer traveling to see someone, but I don’t know if have that anymore.
I’m not having the happiest time in my life, given my health condition — chronic fatigue, loss of coordination, muscle weakness, but slowly recovering — and quitting university. I’m not sure what to travel for anymore. I have connections that I can meet and spend time with in Europe, but I feel anchored to stay home in California for some reason. I think it’s fear of going, having heartbreak again, experiencing bad anxiety, or just doing something plain stupid. I don’t have anybody in my life that feels close. I’m 23, and at the same time, I don’t know whether to sit and act grateful now or still do things that make me feel young again in my 20s.
Now, I have been watching Jacob Koopman’s busking videos of him singing romantic songs in the streets of Dublin, and I’m having THAT feeling again — Europe and love.
I’m hesitant to plan and buy plane tickets for this summer.
TL;DR: I feel like traveling fulfills me with romance and love, especially after meeting more willing girls abroad and having a non-existent dating life in the US even as an Asian-American.
Here are my questions:
Should I visit a girl who I met briefly during one of my travels?
What should I do if I really think having love and a relationship leads to happiness, especially if I lack a dating life in the US?
Should I continue to do the things that evidently benefit me outside my home country?

Left to Survive: Apocalypse is an action-packed first-person shooter. The entire zombie world is resurrecting and threatens the existence of life on Earth, as depicted in ornately detailed and meticulously crafted images. Your goal is to compete in tournaments and devise a strategy that will allow you to save innocent people while amassing and occupying the opponent’s armory.

GET RID OF ALL THE ZOMBIES IN THE DUNGEON

Evil ghosts are holding back some of the world’s best gunmen. They are wreaking havoc on the planet and must be stopped at all costs. If you are still disoriented in the dark, it is recommended that you locate the base and construct your battleship as soon as possible. Any zombies that move while driving should be killed or cornered. You should avoid zombie attacks because their magical power and attack pressure are perilous.
Players can avoid assassins by moving around and hiding behind walls and containers. When you’re almost out of ammo, move quickly to avoid leaving traces and being ambushed by an opponent at the last second. You must raid and properly aim at the numerous enemies roaming around to get out of the arena.

PUT ON YOUR ARMOR, WHICH IS SPECIALIZED DAMAGE-DEALING GEAR

When discussing the shooting environment in Left to Survive, the Armor power upgrading device cannot be overlooked. Because each of our guns is equipped with a silencer and pinpoint precision, the incredible magical power of our guns will astound all of the players. If being surrounded by zombies makes you nervous, you can launch an attack from a safe distance.
The Armor pair and the newly added protection feature in the shop will transform into formidable arms to assist you in completing this difficult task. Sniper weapons, guns, shotguns, and machine guns could all be used during the battle. This will be determined by both the target’s and the opponent’s strength. Maintaining your fighting spirit necessitates frequent use of health boosters and ammunition reloading.

CREATE SEPARATE COMBAT FORMATIONS AND COMBINE THE FORCES OF BOTH SIDES

Those who want to fight in multiplayer squads can do so in PvP combat. Combatants can engage in 1×1 solo battles or 2×2 team battles. One of the aspects that distinguish that particular team fight is how the skills of all of the team members combine. Improve your teammates’ abilities to provide the fairest fight possible while avoiding unnecessary injuries. Your opponent may be able to split your force during an ambush battle. Never be duped into fighting more battles with other groups, as cohesiveness is the key to success in Left to Survive.

LAUNCH AN ALL-OUT ASSAULT ON THE ENEMY BASE USING HELICOPTERS

You must raid all bases to turn every fight into a zombie apocalypse. Your helicopter will carry out this operation, which will collect all the resources required to maximize your fighting power. In contrast, enemy bases are constantly guarded by imposing towers and legions of local guards. To conserve energy, the player must also bring formidable weaponry aboard the plane and use the cannon’s most lethal firepower. Then, build your battling stronghold with materials stolen from your opponent’s stronghold.

KEY FEATURES

  • Intense zombie shooting action as you mow down endless hordes of the undead with a variety of upgradable firearms like assault rifles, shotguns, and sniper rifles.
  • Deep weapon and character customization system that allows you to tweak the looks of your character and weapons with cool skins and attachments.
  • Addictive online PvP mode where you battle against other real players for prizes and bragging rights. Tests your survival skills against human opponents.
  • Base building feature where you construct and upgrade shelters, resource production buildings, walls/traps, and more to create a zombie-proof stronghold.
  • Scavenge the wastelands for valuable resources and items which are used to craft new weapons/gear to boost your chance of survival.
  • RPG-style progression system with talents and abilities to unlock that enhance your combat efficiency. Level up your character over time.
  • Massive open world maps set in realistic post-apocalyptic locales like cities, forests, deserts etc. which you can explore for loot.
  • Join clans with friends or other players to coordinate more effectively. Clans can wage war against other groups.
  • Built-in chat system allows real-time text and voice communication with other players to plan strategies and raids.
  • Frequent major content updates add new weapons, maps, enemies, events, clan features, and expanded endgame activities. Keeps the game fresh.

Stumble Guys’ head-to-head knockout competition is both colorful and entertaining. Participate in meeting the various criteria so you can be a part of the crucial group that arrives at the end. If you are knocked down, get back up, and the fun will continue. Each of these steps will be a difficult challenge that will put your bravery to the test.

A 32-PLAYER ONLINE ROUND OF BATTLE ROYALE

Stumble Guys’ gameplay isn’t limited to “chase and kill.” The amazing thing about our game is that it has both entertaining and unexpectedly fast-paced gameplay. The Battle Royal table will feature 32 players competing against each other to determine who will win the championship trophy and has the most items. Players must not only slow down during the race but also navigate tiny roadways with the skill to save their teammates. Players can demonstrate their resourcefulness and perseverance in combat by venturing further into the bizarre racetracks.

THERE ARE MANY NEW AND UNPREDICTABLE CHALLENGES TO FACE.

To overcome the thousands of obstacles in your path, you must have a good sense of humor, keep a steady beat, and maintain good coordination. There are numerous secrets to be discovered throughout the massive football field, ski area, and masters racetrack. The lightning-fast pace, the unexpected nature of the challenges, and the ever-changing appearance of the control panel will leave you perplexed.
The enormous balls will pursue you; if you cannot move quickly and take advantage of any potential openings, you will be defeated. We can trick our opponents into riding on dangerous runways and create unexpected distractions to eliminate risky riders and easily and quickly win the match. You must get a feel for the battle’s rhythm and flee to the safe square as soon as possible. The honeycomb region will also collapse indefinitely.

COLLECT THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF CHARACTERS POSSIBLE.

Stumble Guys gives you access to five different characters, each with a unique combat approach. Before joining the round, consider how you will take advantage of that character’s advantages. Because of the ninja’s ability to transform, which grants you this ability, you can move quickly and avoid collisions. The addition of Aliens will also significantly change your main roster. The most eagerly awaited additions are almost always high-level characters; however, acquiring these characters would necessitate a significant financial investment. As a result, players are obligated to take advantage of any opportunity to acquire money and diamond chests along the way.

YOU CAN WIN BY OUTMANEUVERING YOUR OPPONENT BY BEING AWARE OF EVERY MOVE THEY MAKE

Players can schedule their matches by having their opponents in each round and be real-life friends. It is difficult to win at this level because you must be the sole survivor of the bloodiest and most horrific conflict ever. If you want to be the greatest racer of all time, you must defeat all of your opponents. Each obstacle’s surprise attack rate and overall speed will be increased by 100%.
The competition to reach the top level is energized by vibrant squares, and fast-paced music is played to encourage players to move quickly. Armor and other defensive equipment can be purchased from the in-game store to protect your team. Furthermore, one of the best ways to achieve incredible breakthroughs is to rush past opponents.

KEY FEATURES

  • Physics-based ragdoll characters that stumble and fall as you try to reach the finish line first
  • Over 20 mini-games to compete in, like racing, tag, soccer, and more wacky physics challenges
  • Customize your character with funny hats, masks, outfits and accessories purchased with in-game currency
  • Online multiplayer battles with up to 32 players on the same map at once
  • Level up your character to unlock new gear and compete in higher ranked matches
  • Daily and weekly challenges to complete that provide coins and experience points
  • Leaderboards to climb and show that you’re the best ragdoll physics competitor
  • Party modes to play mini-games back-to-back in a custom playlist with friends

2024.05.15 03:36 Legitimate-Sky-6820 Frontline combat in persistent aerial combat

Airfeilds:
There should be multiple types of airfeild with diffrent levels of protection and diffrent lengths, another possible balance point would be suply availability, airfeild could be given certain amounts of heavy cannons and high power engines to promote high cost aircraft to take off from longer range airports on their initial spawn allowing them to either fly all the way and earn additional reward or to choose an engagement point a set distance away from the frontline. This would allow people to get back into the game much faster and to play in large coordinated groups. High altitude combat would also by default become more common due to this promoting the use of superchraged planes increasing the cost and making it more high risk high reward incentiviced
Why persistent combat:
The main advantage to persistent combat over the current style of team deathmatch is the fact the far higher survival rates could be kept especially when one side is clearly losing. For example once a tactical victory has been achieved all rewards can be given out and any futher kills will just count as kills but no longer directly effect any sort of local victory condition. This would also allow bomber to stay at maximum altitude for their entire combat run allowing imo really fucking cool types of combat to occur.
Another advantage of this system is that there is far more motivation to take part in the war and to for example join a random group of friendlies on their way to a high priority target, for example a fartory affecting the cost of parts for the enemy team or an airfeild that is being particularly bothersome.

2024.05.15 02:40 ShiftYourReality How to Escape the Confines of Time and Space According to the CIA (The Gateway Experience)

In the ’80s, the spy agency investigated the "Gateway Experience" technique to alter consciousness and ultimately escape spacetime.
The intrigue revolves around a classified 1983 CIA report on a technique called the Gateway Experience, which is a training system designed to focus brainwave output to alter consciousness and ultimately escape the restrictions of time and space.
The CIA was interested in all sorts of psychic research at the time, including the theory of applications of remote viewing, which is when someone views real events with only the power of their mind. The documents have since been declassified and are available to view.
This is a comprehensive excavation of The Gateway Process report. The first section provides a timeline of the key historical developments that led to the CIA’s investigation and subsequent experimentations. The second section is a review of The Gateway Process report. It opens with a wall of theoretical context, on the other side of which lies enough understanding to begin to grasp the principles underlying the Gateway Experience training. The last section outlines the Gateway technique itself and the steps that go into achieving spacetime transcendence.
Let’s go.
THE TIMELINE
• 1950s - Robert Monroe, a radio broadcasting executive, begins producing evidence that specific sound patterns have identifiable effects on human capabilities. These include alertness, sleepiness, and expanded states of consciousness.
• 1956 - Monroe forms an R&D division inside his radio program production corporation RAM Enterprises. The goal is to study sound’s effect on human consciousness. He was obsessed with “Sleep-Learning," or hypnopedia, which exposes sleepers to sound recordings to boost memory of previously learned information.
• 1958 - While experimenting with Sleep-Learning, Monroe discovers an unusual phenomenon. He describes it as sensations of paralysis and vibration accompanied by bright light. It allegedly happens nine times over the proceeding six weeks, and culminates in an out-of-body experience (OBE).
• 1962 - RAM Enterprises moves to Virginia, and renames itself Monroe Industries. It becomes active in radio station ownership, cable television, and later in the production and sale of audio cassettes. These cassettes contain applied learnings from the corporate research program, which is renamed The Monroe Institute.
• 1971 - Monroe publishes Journeys Out of the Body, a book that is credited with popularizing the term “out-of-body experience.”
• 1972 - A classified report circulates in the U.S. military and intelligence communities. It claims that the Soviet Union is pouring money into research involving ESP and psychokinesis for espionage purposes.
• 1975 - Monroe registers the first of several patents concerning audio techniques designed to stimulate brain functions until the left and right hemispheres become synchronized. Monroe dubs the state "Hemi-Sync" (hemispheric synchronization), and claims it could be used to promote mental well-being or to trigger an altered state of consciousness.
• 1978 to 1984 - Army veteran Joseph McMoneagle contributes to 450 remote viewing missions under Project Stargate. He is known as “Remote View No. 1”.
• June 9th, 1983 - The CIA report "Analysis and Assessment of The Gateway Process" is produced. It provides a scientific framework for understanding and expanding human consciousness, out-of-body experiments, and other altered states of mind.
• 1989 - Remote viewer Angela Dellafiora Ford helps track down a former customs agent who has gone on the run. She pinpoints his location as “Lowell, Wyoming”. U.S. Customs apprehend him 100 miles west of a Wyoming town called Lovell.
• 2003 - The CIA approves declassification of the Gateway Process report.
• 2017 - The CIA declassifies 12 million pages of records revealing previously unknown details about the program, which would eventually become known as Project Stargate.
THE REPORT
Personnel
The author of The Gateway Process report is Lieutenant Colonel Wayne M. McDonnell, hereon referred to simply as Wayne. There isn’t a tremendous amount of information available on the man, nor any photographs. In 1983, Wayne was tasked by the Commander of the U.S. Army Operational Group with figuring out how The Gateway Experience, astral projection and out-of-body experiences work. Wayne partnered with a bunch of different folks to produce the report, most notably Itzhak Bentov, a very Googleable American-Israeli scientist who helped pioneer the biomedical engineering industry.
A scientific approach
From the outset of the report, Wayne states his intent to employ an objective scientific method in order to understand the Gateway process. The various scientific avenues he takes include:
• A biomedical inquiry to understand the physical aspects of the process.
• Information on quantum mechanics to describe the nature and functioning of human consciousness.
• Theoretical physics to explain the time-space dimension and means by which expanded human consciousness transcends it.
• Classical physics to bring the whole phenomenon of out-of-body states into the language of physical science (and remove the stigma of an occult connotation).
Methodological frames of reference
Before diving into the Gateway Experience, Wayne develops a frame of reference by dissecting three discrete consciousness-altering methodologies. He’s basically saying, there’s no way you’re going to get through The Gateway without a solid grounding in the brain-altering techniques that came before it.
1) He begins with hypnosis. The language is extremely dense, but the basic gist is as follows: the left side of the brain screens incoming stimuli, categorizing, assessing and assigning meaning to everything through self-cognitive, verbal, and linear reasoning. The left hemisphere then dishes the carefully prepared data to the non-critical, holistic, pattern-oriented right hemisphere, which accepts everything without question. Hypnosis works by putting the left side to sleep, or at least distracting it long enough to allow incoming data direct, unchallenged entry to the right hemisphere. There, stimuli can reach the sensor and motor cortices of the right brain, which corresponds to points in the body. Suggestions then can send electrical signals from the brain to certain parts of the body. Directing these signals appropriately, according to the report, can elicit reactions ranging from left leg numbness to feelings of happiness. Same goes for increased powers of concentration.
2) Wayne continues with a snapshot of transcendental meditation. He distinguishes it from hypnotism. Through concentration the subject draws energy up the spinal cord, resulting in acoustical waves that run through the cerebral ventricles, to the right hemisphere, where they stimulate the cerebral cortex, run along the homunculus and then to the body. The waves are the altered rhythm of heart sounds, which create sympathetic vibrations in the walls of the fluid-filled cavities of the brain’s ventricles. He observed that the symptoms begin in the left side of the body, confirming the right brain’s complicity. Bentov also states that the same effect might be achieved by prolonged exposure to 4 - 7 Hertz/second acoustical vibrations. He suggests standing by an air conditioning duct might also do the trick. (David’s Lynch and other celebrities are committed adherents to transcendental meditation today.)
3) Biofeedback, on the other hand, uses the left hemisphere to gain access to the right brain’s lower cerebral, motor, and sensory cortices. Whereas hypnosis suppresses one side of the brain, and TM bypasses that side altogether, biofeedback teaches the left hemisphere to visualize the desired result, recognize the feelings associated with right hemisphere access, and ultimately achieve the result again. With repetition, the left brain can reliably key into the right brain, and strengthen the pathways so that it can be accessed during a conscious demand mode. A digital thermometer is subsequently placed on a target part of the body. When its temperature increases, objective affirmation is recognized and the state is reinforced. Achieving biofeedback can block pain, enhance feeling, and even suppress tumors, according to the report.
The Gateway mechanics
With that, Wayne takes a first stab at the Gateway process. He classifies it as a “training system designed to bring enhanced strength, focus and coherence to the amplitude and frequency of brainwave output between the left and right hemispheres so as to alter consciousness.”
What distinguishes the Gateway process from hypnosis, TM, and biofeedback, is that it requires achieving a state of consciousness in which the electrical brain patterns of both hemispheres are equal in amplitude and frequency. This is called Hemi-Sync. Lamentably, and perhaps conveniently, we cannot as humans achieve this state on our own. The audio techniques developed by Bob Monroe and his Institute (which are comprised as a series of tapes). claim to induce and sustain Hemi-Sync.
Wayne employs the analogy of a lamp versus a laser. Left to its own devices the human mind expends energy like a lamp, in a chaotic and incoherent way, achieving lots of diffusion but relatively little depth. Under Hemi-Sync though, the mind produces a “disciplined stream of light.” So, once the frequency and amplitude of the brain are rendered coherent it can then synchronize with the rarified energy levels of the universe. With this connection intact, the brain begins to receive symbols and display astonishing flashes of holistic intuition.
The Hemi-Sync technique takes advantage of a Frequency Following Response (FFR). It works like this: an external frequency emulating a recognized one will cause the brain to mimic it. So if a subject hears a frequency at the Theta level, it will shift from its resting Beta level. To achieve these unnatural levels, Hemi-Sync puts a single frequency in the left ear and a contrasting frequency in the right. The brain then experiences the Delta frequency, also known as the beat frequency. It’s more familiarly referred to these days as binaural beats. With the FFR and beat frequency phenomena firmly in place, The Gateway Process introduces a series of frequencies at marginally audible, subliminal levels. With the left brain relaxed and the body in a virtual sleep state, the conditions are ideal to promote brainwave outputs of higher and higher amplitude and frequency. Alongside subliminal suggestions from Bob Monroe (naturally), the subject can then alter their consciousness.
The Gateway system only works when the audio, which is introduced through headphones, is accompanied by a physical quietude comparable to other forms of meditation. This increases the subject’s internal resonance to the body’s sound frequencies, for example the heart. This eliminates the “bifurcation echo”, in which the heartbeat moves up and down the body seven times a second. By placing the body in a sleep-like state, The Gateway CD’s, like meditation, lessen the force and frequency of the heartbeat pushing blood into the aorta. The result is a rhythmic sine wave that in turn amplifies the sound volume of the heart three times. This then amplifies the frequency of brainwave output. The film surrounding the brain—the dura—and fluid between that film and the skull, eventually begin to move up and down, by .0005 and .010 millimeters.
The body, based on its own micro-motions, then functions as a tuned vibrational system. The report claims that the entire body eventually transfers energy at between 6.8 and 7.5 Hertz, which matches Earth’s own energy (7 - 7.5 Hertz). The resulting wavelengths are long, about 40,000 kilometers, which also happens to be the perimeter of the planet. According to Bentov, the signal can move around the world’s electrostatic field in 1/7th of a second.
To recap, the Gateway Process goes like this:
• Induced state of calm
• Blood pressure lowers
• Circulatory system, skeleton and other organ systems begin to vibrate at 7 - 7.5 cycles per second
• Increased resonance is achieved
• The resulting sound waves matches the electrostatic field of the earth
• The body and earth and other similarly tuned minds become a single energy continuum.
We’ve gotten slightly ahead of ourselves here though. Back to the drawing board.
A psycho-quantum level deeper
Wayne then turns to the very nature of matter and energy. More materially (or less if you will), solid matter in the strict construction of the term, he explains, doesn’t exist. The atomic structure is composed of oscillating energy grids surrounded by other oscillating energy grids at tremendous speeds. These oscillation rates vary—the nucleus of an atom vibrates at 10 to the power of 22, a molecule vibrates at 10 to the power of 9, a human cell vibrates at 10 to the power of 3. The point is that the entire universe is one complex system of energy fields. States of matter in this conception then are merely variations in the state of energy.
The result of all these moving energies, bouncing off of energy at rest, projects a 3D mode, a pattern, called a hologram, A.K.A our reality as we experience it. It's best to think of it as a 3D photograph. There’s a whole rabbit hole to go down here. Suffice it to say, the hologram that is our experience is incredibly good at depicting and recording all the various energies bouncing around creating matter. So good, in fact, that we buy into it hook, line, and sinker, going so far as to call it our "life."
Consciousness then can be envisaged as a 3D grid system superimposed over all energy patterns, Wayne writes. Using mathematics, each plane of the grid system can then reduce the data to a 2D form. Our binary (go/no go) minds can then process the data and compare it to other historical data saved in our memory. Our reality is then formed by comparisons. The right hemisphere of the brain acts as the primary matrix or receptor for this holographic input. The left hemisphere then compares it to other data, reducing it to its 2D form.
In keeping with our species' commitment to exceptionalism, as far as we know humans are uniquely capable of achieving this level of consciousness. Simply, humans not only know, but we know that we know. This bestows upon us the ability to duplicate aspects of our own hologram, project them out, perceive that projection, run it through a comparison with our own memory of the hologram, measure the differences using 3D geometry, then run it through our binary system to yield verbal cognition of the self.
The click-out phase
Wayne then shows his cards as a true punisher, issuing, "Up to this point our discussion of the Gateway process has been relatively simple and easy to follow. Now the fun begins." Shots fired, Wayne. What he's preparing the commander reading this heady report for is the reveal—how we can use the Gateway to transcend the dimension of spacetime.
Time is a measurement of energy or force in motion; it is a measurement of change. This is really important. For energy to be classified as in motion, it must be confined within a vibratory pattern that can contain its motion, keeping it still. Energy not contained like this is boundary-less, and moves without limit or dimension, to infinity. This disqualifies boundary-less energy from the dimension of time because it has no rate of change. Energy in infinity, also called "the absolute state," is completely at rest because nothing is accelerating or decelerating it—again, no change. It therefore does not contribute to our hologram, our physical experience. We cannot perceive it.
Now back to frequencies. Wave oscillation occurs because a wave is bouncing between two rigid points of rest. It's like a game of electromagnetic hot potato (the potato being the wave and the participants' hands being the boundaries of the wave). Without these limits, there would be no oscillation. When a wave hits one of those points of rest, just for a very brief instant, it "clicks out" of spacetime and joins infinity. For this to occur, the speed of the oscillation has to drop below 10 the power of -33 centimeters per second. For a moment, the wave enters into a new world. The potato simply disappears into a dimension we cannot perceive.
Theoretically speaking, if the human consciousness wave pattern reaches a high enough frequency, the “click-outs” can reach continuity. Put another way, if the frequency of human consciousness can dip below 10 to the power of 33 centimeters per second but above a state of total rest, it can transcend spacetime. The Gateway experience and associated Hemi-Sync technique is designed for humans to achieve this state and establish a coherent pattern of perception in the newly realized dimensions.
Passport to the hologram
In theory, we can achieve the above at any time. The entire process though is helped along if we can separate the consciousness from our body. It’s like an existential running head start where the click-out of a consciousness already separated from its body starts much closer to, and has more time to dialogue with, other dimensions.
This is where things get a little slippery; hold on as best you can. The universe is in on the whole hologram thing, too, Wayne writes. This super hologram is called a "torus" because it takes the shape of a fuck-off massive self-contained spiral. Like this:
Give yourself a moment to let the above motion sink in...
This pattern of the universe conspicuously mirrors the patterns of electrons around the nucleus of an atom. Galaxies north of our own are moving away from us faster than the galaxies to the south; galaxies to the east and west of us are more distant. The energy that produced the matter that makes up the universe we presently enjoy, will turn back in on itself eventually. Its trajectory is ovoid, also known as the cosmic egg. As it curls back on itself it enters a black hole, goes through a densely packed energy nucleus then gets spat out the other side of a white hole and begins the process again. Springtime in the cosmos, baby!
And that is the context in which the Gateway Experience sits.
[Deep breaths.]
THE TECHNIQUE
The following is an outline of the key steps to reach focus levels necessary to defy the spacetime dimension. This is an involved and lengthy process best attempted in controlled settings. If you’re in a rush, you can apparently listen to enough Monroe Institute Gateway Tapes in 7 days to get there.
The Energy Conversion Box: The Gateway Process begins by teaching the subject to isolate any extraneous concerns using a visualization process called “the energy conversion box.”
Resonant Humming: The individual is introduced to resonant humming. Through the utterance of a protracted single tone, alongside a chorus on the tapes, the mind and body achieve a state of resonance.
The Gateway Affirmation: The participant is exposed to something close to a mantra called The Gateway Affirmation. They must repeat to themselves variations of, “I am merely a physical body and deeply desire to expand my consciousness.”
Hemi-Sync: The individual is finally exposed to the Hemi-Sync sound frequencies, and encouraged to develop a relationship with the feelings that emerge.
Additional Noise: Physical relaxation techniques are practiced while the Hemi-Sync frequencies are expanded to include “pink and white” noise. This puts the body in a state of virtual sleep, while calming the left hemisphere and raising the attentiveness of the right hemisphere.
The Energy Balloon: The individual is then encouraged to visualize the creation of an “energy balloon” beginning at the top of the head, extending down in all directions to the feet then back up again. There are a few reasons for this, the main one being that this balloon will provide protection against conscious entities possessing lower energy levels that he or she may encounter when in the out-of-body state.
Focus 12: The practitioner can consistently achieve sufficient expanded awareness to begin interacting with dimensions beyond their physical reality. To achieve this state requires conscious efforts and more “pink and white noise” from the sound stream.
Tools: Once Focus 12 is achieved, the subject can then employ a series of tools to obtain feedback from alternate dimensions.
Problem Solving: The individual identifies fundamental problems, fills their expanded awareness with them, and then projects them out into the universe. These can include personal difficulties, as well as technical or practical problems.
Patterning: Consciousness is used to achieve desired objectives in the physical, emotional, or intellectual sphere.
Color Breathing: A healing technique that revitalizes the body’s energy flows by imagining colors in a particularly vivid manner.
Energy Bar Tool: This technique involves imagining a small intensely pulsating dot of light that the participant charges up. He or she then uses the sparkling, vibrating cylinder of energy (formerly known as the dot) to channel forces from the universe to heal and revitalize the body.
Remote Viewing: A follow-on technique of the Energy Bar Tool where the dot is turned into a whirling vortex through which the individual sends their imagination in search of illuminating insights.
Living Body Map: A more organized use of the energy bar in which streams of different colors flow from the dot on to correspondingly-colored bodily systems.
Seven days of training have now occurred. Approximately 5 percent of participants get to this next level, according to the report.
Focus 15 - Travel Into the Past: Additional sound on the Hemi-Sync tapes includes more of the same, plus some subliminal suggestions to further expand the consciousness. The instructions are highly symbolic: time is a huge wheel, in which different spokes give access to the participant’s past.
Focus 21 - The Future: This is the last and most advanced state. Like Focus 15, this is a movement out of spacetime into the future.
Out-of-Body Movement: Only one tape of the many is devoted to out-of-body movement. This tape is devoted to facilitating an out-of-body state when the participant’s brain wave patterns and energy levels reach harmony with the surrounding electromagnetic environment. According to Bob Monroe, the participant has to be exposed to Beta signals of around 2877.3 cycles per second.
CONCLUSIONS
Wayne expresses concern about the fidelity of information brought back from out-of-body states using the Gateway technique. Practical applications are of particular concern because of the potential for “information distortion.”
The Monroe Institute also ran into a bunch of issues in which they had individuals travel from the West to the East Coast of the U.S. to read a series of numbers off of a computer screen. They never got them exactly right. Wayne chalks this up to the trouble of differentiating between physical entities and extra-time-space dimensions when in the out-of-body state.
Wayne swings back to support mode though, lending credence to the physics foundation of the report. He cites multiple belief systems that have established identical findings. These include the Tibetan Shoug, the Hindu heaven of Indra, the Hebrew mystical philosophy, and the Christian concept of the Trinity. Here he seems more interested in hammering home the theoretical underpinnings that make The Gateway Experience possible, rather than the practical possibilities promised by The Gateway Tapes.
Possibly with his CIA top brass audience in mind, Wayne then gives an A-type nod to The Gateway Experience for providing a faster, more efficient, less subservient, energy-saving route to expanded consciousness. This finishes with a series of recommendations to the CIA for how to exploit Gateway’s potential for national defense purposes.
The missing page
One curious feature of The Gateway Report is that it seems to be missing page 25. It’s a real cliffhanger too. The bottom of page 24 reads “And, the eternal thought or concept of self which results from this self-consciousness serves the,” The report picks back up on page 26 and 3 sections later as if Wayne hadn’t just revealed the very secret of existence.
The gap has not gone unnoticed. There's a Change.org petition requesting its release. Multiple Freedom of Information Act requests have demanded the same. In all cases, the CIA has said they never had the page to begin with. Here’s a 2019 response from Mark Lilly, the CIA’s Information and Privacy Coordinator, to one Bailey Stoner regarding these records:
One theory goes that that rascal Wayne M.-fricking-McDonnell left the page out on purpose. The theory contends that it was a litmus test—if anyone truly defies time-space dimensions, they’ll certainly be able to locate page 25.
[Cosmic shrug.]

2024.05.14 23:39 AndrewH1995 First time traveling to Europe. Need advice on how to plan my 5th anniversary logistics. Efficiency is my main concern but outside advice welcome!

I'm actively planning my 5th anniversary trip from the US to the UK/Amsterdam. I'm having an impossible time trying to figure out what would be the most efficient way to play our stops and stays. It is all overwhelming for my first true travel internationally. So I'll drop some basic info below and hopefully some experienced folks can help me figure out how to coordinate the most efficient way to travel.
Flying out of US September 29th 2024 Flying back into the US October 16th 2024 Both Flights will be overnight. Flying in and out of London for convenience and budget.
16 nights to stay.
Main 3 stops: -London -Liverpool/Manchester -Amsterdam (Open to other areas as well since we are first timers but the Beatles/Queen History is a big interest along with 1-2 Man City football matches. Outside of that, scenery, good food and cool experiences are our interests.)
I know there are many ways to get around the UK but not sure which of the planes, trains, or automobiles are our best bet. Open to all options/suggestions. There is no advice that we won't take at this point.
Generally starting with the idea of 4 nights in each area... TYIA

~ General Recommendations (All Consoles) For Anyone Who Can't Decide ~

First off, I won't recommend big or famous games like Final Fantasy or Persona, this is more for lesser know, hidden gems, or just games where it's hard to find someone talking about them.

[Valkyria Chronicles]

[Valkyria Chronicles 4]

This one is really hard to explain through words alone, but just in case, the VC series is a World War 2 military setting story, where you act as the lead of a squad and take mission to drive back the enemy. The story is drama heavy and the gameplay is tactical turn-based, but it's mixed with real-time third person shooter.
You can also make your own army by recruiting different types of solders, training them and upgrading their gear. From rifles to tanks, this is a game you have to experience to understand.

[Fuga: Melodies of Steel 1 & 2]

Great game, great art style, and really well made and balanced turn-based combat. That alone is enough to get the game. Then you add the time-management part of the game, where you spend time upgrading the different tank rooms, cooking, exploring ruins, spending time to bond with other characters, and so on. It's also great if you want a game that you can play for an hour or 2 and then put down for later. As the game is played through stages, and once you're done with a stage, you get an intermission to do what you want and come back to it later.
It's not a long game (compared to the usual JRPG), as you mentioned, it's about 20 hours. Story-wise I think it was a bit too short. Gameplay wise it was great fit, because it didn't outstay it's welcome, and it ends when you feel you have mastered the gameplay and want to face the final challenge.
The story is good, but isn't the focus. Gameplay is the main focus. In fact you'll feel that a lot of context isn't told in the story, but instead left for you to either read about in the in-game wiki or just figure out through obvious clues in the story.
There is a big mechanic that this meant to put a lot of pressure on your playthrough (don't worry about it being spoiled because it's literally explained in the first hour of the game). The thing is though, if you have experience in JRPGs or just play in a really well thought out and relaxed manner, then that mechanic might not be as big a deal as they make it seem to be. Yet it's still fun nonetheless.
Fuga 2 is even better. It fixes a lot of the minor issues the first game had, and what's really great, is it improved the "big pressure" mechanic I talked about, and now it actually is a big deal. Then add to that so much little new mechanics added that just makes for a much more fun and challenging game. The 2nd game also continues the same story.

[Ni no Kuni] Series

If you're looking for that great Isekai fantasy adventure feel, then these two games are where it's at. Fantastic visuals and great music, coupled with a great art style, a combo that is perfect for a chill and relaxed gaming experience. Especially when talking about the first game, with the help ofStudio Ghibli, they managed to make a truly whimsical world with that Studio Ghibli classic touch.
- Important Note: The games aren't connected story-wise, so you can start with any of them -

[Wrath of the White Witch]

For a the best fantasy adventure feel, while the combat is a hit or miss depending on your taste, don't let that stop you from actually diving into a true fairy tale world, this is the one with the better story in my opinion, so if you want more story than game, this is for you. Still it has a good share of gameplay, from raising and collecting Pokemon-like monsters, to learning and using different spells, not just in combat but for the overworld too.

[Ni no Kuni™ II: Revenant Kingdom]

This one focuses more on gameplay, with a Kingdom builder, Army battles, Heavy loot focus, and even character collector, this is the one to go with if you want more game than story. Still has the great music and he fantastical art style and setting. Add to that a lot of side activities like beating rare monsters, collecting cute creatures to help you in battle, and even going around the world to gather people to help you build your kingdom. You'll never be short on things to do.
Finally, both of them have beautifully draw world that is just a pleasure to walkthrough, made even better with the amazing orchestral soundtrack.

[Star Ocean The Second Story R]

The original PS1 game was already an amazing JRPG and a classic. But this remake takes it to go even further beyond SSJ3. It should be the standard on how to make a faithful remake on of a classic title.
I don't want to overhype it more than I already did. So to keep this short, this remake does so much:
  • All major story events are now fully voice acted. This includes a lot of the private actions too.
  • Fully redone and better translation of the game.
  • New Character to recruit to the party.
  • New Private Actions and 13 new Endings.
  • New character portraits, not just for the main cast, but also for many other characters.
  • A complete rework for the battle system to be up to modern standards.
  • So many QoL features:
    • Auto-saving
    • Fast-forward cut-scenes or skip them.
    • Text log
    • All difficulties can be accessed from the start
    • Fast travel
    • 3 different voice dubbing options to choose from (New English, Original Japanese, New Japanese)
    • Your choice of different art styles
    • Choose between original OST and new rearranged OST.
    • No random battles anymore, as enemies can be seen and avoided
And believe me when I say I still haven't touched half of the amazing work that has gone into this remake.

[Sword and Fairy 7: Together Forever]

They did a great job with the presentation of the game. Great voice acting (Chinese), great graphics, amazing music, and an impressive attention to details of the world and it's lore, especially the engineering of the buildings and their decor. Then you have the really beautiful design of each piece of gear, and even just normal attire of each NPC and the disciples of each sect or soldiers of each of the different of each plane (gods, humans, demons).
Then we go to how great looking the monsters and local flora and fauna of each realm. You can feel the intense work that has gone into making and animating each of them. It really is a joy to watch them, as much as it is to watch each environment you see them in. There really isn't enough time to talk about how good the presentation is.
As for the story. First off, I am not an expert in Chinese novels mythology, but I am a big fan of Xianxia and Wuxia novels. So when I say that the story is...good but nothing great, I am saying this as more than just a JRPG fan, but also someone who is very into this type of world and Chinese martial arts fantasy setting. it's nothing that will stick in your mind, apart from the events that take place in some of the beautiful set pieces in the game, or the cut-scenes with beautiful action cheoragphy.
The gameplay is also about average. The side-quests are fun and are worth doing if nothing more than for learning more about the lore and the world. But the actual battles and action gameplay isn't as good as the best ones out there, but it's not bad. I have ran into some bugs, some small, some big, but that was when the game just came out, and it did receive a lot of patches since then. You can tell that they aimed to make a huge triple A production, but didn't have the time or manpower to test a game of this size. It's still fun to play and experience, but the level of gameplay is nowhere near the level of the presentation that the game gives the impression of having just from watching the gameplay or trailers.
If you enjoy walking through magical and fantastic looking JRPG worlds, or if you enjoy Xianxia/Wuxia fiction, then this is an easy choice. Hell even if you don't, it's still worth a go at this price.

[Blue Dragon] & [Lost Odyssey]

These two are classic titles that will probably won't be ported to or remade to modern consoles. That's why this might be the last way you'll ever get to experience 2 classic titles of the genre. Lost Odyssey has great story writing and unique character settings, and Blue Dragon has great exploration and a really fun character class customization system, and one hell of a boss theme.

[Monster Sanctuary]

This is a solid game, everything in is polished and balanced to make sure you are having fun collecting new monsters and customizing your team through evolution/skill trees/gear and making the best in-sync party you can. I only wish it was longer, it's not short by any means, but it's not long either. I would say depending on if you're trying to "catch them all" and explore everything and fight all bosses, this could easily be a 30+ hours game, but if you focus on the story, then it's about 20 to 30 hours. Now even longer with the 2 new free DLC expansion added.
Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining that it's short, but that I was having so much fun, that I wish it didn't end.

As always, please do add your own recommendations, and let me know if there is mistake or if something was missing, and have a nice day.

2024.05.14 20:20 burritocaca How did the community conclude that Image 1 refers to San Francisco?

Hi, guys. I'm posting this (with the SF flair) to try to understand how the community got to SF from Image 1 specifically. If I missed something, please point out where and a source and I'll correct it.
  1. In February of 2004, user Egbert posts that he had thought the image in Moon Goddess's hair to be the number 88, but the loops weren't closed. I think he was looking at a poor scan of Image 1 at this point, which would've made other possible patterns that could represent numbers difficult to see.
  2. In April of 2004, user Fox posted that he noticed that Image 1 contained the coordinates for SF, specifically the I-II-II and I-II-III symbols at the top of the robe. (He doesn't account for any of the other symbols at this point, just that these in particular match SF's longitude range.) For the latitude number (38), Fox counted the blue squares on her sleeve. He doesn't account for any of the other squares in any other location of the image, or whether their count has any significance. By this point, according to fox, Image 1 was thought to refer to SF Chinatown "because of the Chinese robe". User fox does not seem to consider that Los Angeles, for example, was also a major entry point of Chinese immigrants.
  3. Later that month, user maltedfalcon says "Without a shadow of a doubt this image is San Francisco" and that "The 38 122 lon/lat numbers were a nice confirmer". User Egbert acknowledges in the thread that the number 38 is coming from counting the squares on her sleeve.
  4. The next month, there's some discussion about the '88' pattern looking "like a tilted '38'". It's here that maltedfalcon says that "you can overlay the rectangle on the map [of Golden Gate Park] and it fits exactly." There's some discussion that suggest similarities of the GGP landscape and Image 1. User maltedfalcon appears to be the first to suggest here that Verse 7 is a match for Image 1.
  5. In April 2005, User Aces88 mentions that the reversed G-h in Image 1 looks like the first two letters of the Ghirardelli sign from behind the sign. This is the best image I could get from behind the sign. I'm heading to SF this week, and will hopefully grab a better picture while there.
  6. In June of 2005, User forest_blight mentions the pattern that looks like the number 37 on the other side of Moon Goddess's hair. User forest_blight does not seem to consider that the three digits 0, 3 & 8 (and even a few 7s and 2s etc.) would appear many times in a depiction of curly hair.
  7. In June of 2010, forest_blight mentions the similarity of Image 1 and Leonardo Da Vinci's Virgin of the Rocks. In 2011, User slappybuns mentions that Da Vinci had painted Virgin of the Rocks for San Francesco Maggiore in Milan.
  8. In August of 2016, User WhiteRabbit offers up a picture of a cable car bell resembling the bell shape on top of the clock in Image 1. In February of 2018, User Goonie68 mentions the cable car resemblance (I think for the first time, but given how the post reads it seems like it may have been discussed in another thread.) Around the same time, User WhiteRabbit is mentioned as believing that that outline in Image 1 is Lotta's Fountain in SF's Lafayette Park (how it looked in 1980).
  9. The thread continues with various theories connecting Image 1 with SF that I won't post here. No other city is given much if any credence as a possible match for Image 1 in the thread that I can see.
  10. In the Six years in San Francisco podcast, we hear for the first time (I think) about Preiss's widow, Sandi Mendelson, recalling their first date being at the Tonga Room, which is a bar in the Fairmont Hotel in SF. George Ward and Brett (I think) spend the podcast explaining a theory based on the Fairmont Hotel being the starting point of the hunt. They do not explain why they continue to use Verse 7, which has been rooted in Golden Gate Park since maltedfalcon's post in May 2004 mentioned above. Brett (I think) then states that "[Their matching the Image 1 rose to the original Fairmont logo] set afoot us looking at things in the image and matching them up with things." They also mention that SF has a Fairmount District and more than one Fairmont building. The podcast continues with them looking at things in the image and matching them up with things near the Fairmont Hotel, still with the assumption that Verse 7 somehow still applies now that their search has moved away from Golden Gate Park. (I'm still looking for an original source for Sandi's interview.
I'm still adding stuff, so please let me know what else is convincing you that Image 1 goes with SF.

2024.05.14 18:15 TaskAggravating3224 First Time Studying Abroad

Hello studyAbroad,
I'm a college student majoring in comp-sci but focusing of game design. I have been working with my college study abroad coordinator for my application to study for the summer. The program is in England, but specifically in Oriel College, Oxford. Its a pity big deal for me since I'm going to be staying at one of the oldest colleges for just about two weeks. I wasn't really planing on going because of the college(I mean maybe a little), but because they're offering a class on AI.
My main concern is what would be the best advice and tips to be aware of. Not the usual essential items to pack or the best choice in airline. Just stuff like how I can make the most of my trip and enjoying the time I have. Two weeks might go by real quick but I still want to make the most of it. And it is my first time studying in another country so I just want to know what to look out for.

2024.05.14 18:13 J-Red_dit The Good, The Bad, and The Curious

When you reach door 60 you can go through a crack wall and find yourself in a secret room that leads to The Rooms, a reference to a game of the same name that inspired Doors. When dying to an entity in this place, we are not greeted by Guiding Light (GL) but instead by the yellow Curious Light (CL). The behavior of CL is odd, it’s quite vague and generally less helpful than GL, but it does encourage the player to come back implying that it needs the players help for something. It is suspected that CL requires the player to be able to escape The Rooms because in the recent Backdoor update, upon leaving The Rooms or The Backdoor, the player exits through a doorframe covered in yellow cracks and stars.
Speaking of which, backtracking to Door 60 there is a painting that has no title of a large yellow star. It is suspected this star is a symbol that represents CL.
https://preview.redd.it/ofihp1mdaa0d1.png?width=703&format=png&auto=webp&s=1425154a12a27aceb5407e3fe95c9c444aece319
This painting hides more secrets however. Also in this room are 3 chairs placed together. As far as I remember, these chairs have always been in this room, and I thought of them as significant but with nothing to connect it to. This is no longer the case as of the modifiers update because now, if you enter this room with at least 1 modifier turned on, the painting changes to this:
https://preview.redd.it/27omnf2taa0d1.png?width=699&format=png&auto=webp&s=447ac5c21d33375c81aafcfbac261e0a09341b49
Two more symbols appear on the painting, one of a blue crescent moon, and one of the red modifier icon. If CL is connected to the star icon, then who is connected to the other two? The crescent moon is obviously Guiding Light, sharing the same blue color and the crescent moon icon appearing when using the crucifix. The modifier icon however doesn’t belong to a light we’ve met yet, they have however made appearances. But first I need to talk about what the lights are, and what they want. When a player uses the crucifix, one of the symbols that appears is a closed string of wingdings, which when translated and put through a Caeser cipher translates to, “One Of The Three Architects Marked By Celestials Assists You”. Three architects, three icons, three chairs, three lights. So the lights are referred to as architects, but what does this mean? Game Theory believes the reason they are called Architects is the lights have the ability to change the layout of The Hotel, and GL uses this ability to turn The Hotel into a labyrinth keeping the hostile entities trapped inside.
In The Hotel the players goal is to make it to Door 100. The reason for this isn’t clear, but I speculate that in the upcoming Mines update there is some kind of escape from The Hotel for the player. Guiding Light seems to support the player in this endeavor, remembering the past deaths of players, which suggests that death itself is not an escape from The Hotel. El Goblino mentions other humans he has seen attempting to reach Door 100, so I believe that humans who become trapped in The Hotel need to reach The Mines in order to escape, and every time they die they reappear at the beginning of The Hotel and GL assists them each time. GL assists the player by glowing in certain areas to highlight them, items like the candle and the crucifix to defend against the enemies, and of course providing tips for dealing with the entities upon death. Finally I believe the rift in the Electrical Room that stores items to be used in another run is another power of GL (which is important later). Curious Light as already mentioned is less helpful than GL but nonetheless needs the player’s help in The Rooms. In the Backdoor update CL seems more acquainted with the player and more inclined to help, giving better tips, providing Starlight Vials with his star icon, and placing the levers in The Backdoor to keep Haste at bay further supporting the lights ability to change The Hotel as the Architects.
But what about the third architect, represented by the red modifier icon? With the evidence I have gathered, I believe this architect is a malevolent entity allied with the hostile entities. In a post by they suggest looking at the painting like a coordinate plane, with GL’s icon falling in the Positive, Positive section suggesting to symbolize GL as a force of good, CL falling dead center to symbolize neutrality, both of which makes a lot of sense given their personalities, and finally the modifier icon falling into the Negative, Negative section symbolizing our final architect as a force of evil. How do we prove this? First let’s look at the modifiers themselves, since this light is clearly connected to them. The modifiers are able to control the entities behavior, affect The Hotel, and even disable Guiding Light! This isn’t the only instance of modifiers affecting GL either, when modifiers are turned on GL is not present to give tips on the entities and the biggest piece of evidence suggesting rivalry between this architect and GL is that the more modifiers are turned on, the SMALLER GL’s icon gets in the painting.
(150% knobs multiplier for non-players)
Next we have the red barrier that blocks access to The Rooms when modifiers are turned on. We know this is an ability of the Architects because CL does the same thing for The Backdoor until players reach The Rooms for the first time. Why would the Red Light do this? I speculate it is because it (and GL) don’t have much control over areas like The Rooms or The Backdoor since you can’t use modifiers in those areas.
Finally I want to look at the Tower Heroes collab event. While the event itself is not canon to the lore, I want to point out an interesting detail from this event. When playing a Doors-themed level you typically are assisted by GL giving tips in between each wave of enemies. CL also makes an appearance in this event in Adventure mode giving hints to the secret Void boss fight. However, one particular Weekly Challenge during that event called, “Hotel Visitors” had the player assume the role of Figure defending the Library. This time, instead of GL giving tips we are assisted by something speaking in RED text, which the community referred to as Mischievous Light. They could have just as easily made GL talk during this challenge but they specifically chose to replace GL with something else. Not only that, they gave this Mischievous Light some personality, referring to the enemies as “trespassers”. It just fits so perfectly that I can’t help but believe it to be intentional.
https://preview.redd.it/tsy0yrfpka0d1.png?width=1334&format=png&auto=webp&s=865436166cce588de59c3136776754e4fe14ac08
Now that I’ve thoroughly explained the Red Light/Mischievous Light (ML), let’s circle back to Curious Light. Going back to the Door 60 painting, there is one more detail I’d like to discuss, and that is the fact that CL’s icon is much larger than GL’s or ML’s. I believe this is a representation of how powerful each Architect actually is. This is supported by GL’s icon shrinking when the player adds more modifiers, suggesting that they weaken GL. Furthermore GL and ML seem to possess a different set of powers, while CL seems to possess it’s own unique powers as well being able to replicate the other Architect’s. Like GL, Curious Light does glow on the entrance to and exits from The Rooms, and if we use the Bottle of Starlight bought at the end of The Backdoor on GL’s rift, it creates a second yellow rift. We don’t currently have any more similar powers between CL and ML besides the barriers they both create but I believe ML doesn’t consider CL an enemy like it does with GL (more on that in a second). Finally, only CL seems to be able to affect The Rooms and The Backdoor.
When dying to Blitz for the first time in The Backdoor we are greeted by Curious Light who drops a very strange detail:
https://preview.redd.it/oea3ahgdja0d1.png?width=1334&format=png&auto=webp&s=208f6611b341eca375de1ea38c94f01c459bb26f
We haven’t met anyone in The Hotel that’s been confirmed to be female so who could Curious Light be referring to here? The identity of this character is not yet clear, but the first candidate that people have suspected is Guiding Light, and sure on the surface that makes sense; they’re both Architects and we’ve seen them both talk but not necessarily to each other. But upon further inspection it doesn’t make sense for GL to be this character for one specific reason: the fact that this character decided to give Blitz a name. According to dialogue from GL and a tweet from the devs, the names of the entities in The Hotel were given by the player, NOT GL. If other humans have been to The Hotel then GL has been there for some time and has never bothered to give the entities names, so why would it start now? You know who’s more likely to give these entities names? Mischievous Light, the architect supposedly allied with these entities. This belief is shared by Game Theory, which I was super excited to see in their most recent theory.
So what is ML up to talking with CL? I believe that ML wants CL and possibly the player to join them. If CL is the most powerful architect and has dominion over The Rooms and The Backdoor, they would be a great ally to have. But what about the player? As we’ve discussed, despite CL’s power, they need the player’s help to access other areas, and in The Mines possibly will exist an escape from The Hotel that ONLY the player has the ability to open. If we take the Tower Heroes collab into consideration, ML initially sees players as “trespassers” and wants the entities to kill them. However, what if the modifiers are a test by ML to evaluate the player’s usefulness? Furthermore, not all modifiers are bad and actually make the game easier, so while ML definitely sees GL as an enemy, it may not be the same case for CL and the player. I speculate that Mischievous Light’s ultimate goal is to use the player to help the entities escape The Hotel, bringing death and destruction to whatever unfortunate world awaits behind the exit door.
But that’s just a theory, a DOORS THEORY! Thanks for reading!

2024.05.14 17:19 ALTR_Airworks Weird torque in aircraft analysis (Ansys CFX)

I`m trying to analyze pitch torque of aircraft. I ususally do a stability analysis via XFLR5 and then compare with Ansys. The lift and drag values are the same, when accounted for the fuselage. The shape of the graphs etc is consistent, but the torque values are way off. Like 1000% off. I made sure my coordinate systems for torque are OK. Both forces and torques are collected as force_x()@Default Domain Default. I ran mesh sensitivity studies and found that 1-1.5 mln nodes is enough for the values to be independent from mesh. I even tested the approach on an RC plane design I know is stable and flyable. XFLR5 says its stable, ansys says its not. What should i check? Meshing? viscid/inviscid analysis? What wall type must the aircraft surface be? slip or no slip? I`m assuming the surface is smooth. The fluid domain is about 5 times bigger than the aircraft in every direction. The problem manifests itself the same way with different geometries of aircraft. I will be glad for any help and hints.

New Mecha Vehicles

  • Strider: A two-seater vehicle with the ability to jump. It's armed with missiles that can be used to bombard designated areas. Missiles can be replenished at the Repair Station in the Assembly Base.
  • Levitron: A special vechile that can switch between a speed form and a magnetic form. Serves as the upper-body component that combines with a Strider to form the Armamech.
    • In speed form, the maximum speed and hover height will be increased, and the vehicle gains a "collision acceleration" ability: it will not slow down when it hits an obstacle. Instead, it will accelerate using the stored magnetic energy.
    • In magnetic form, the maximum speed and hover height will be reduced, but it can activate a "Magnetize" ability to grab and toss characters, vehicles, and specific objects.
  • Armamech: A four-seater vehicle combined from a Levitron and a Strider. It can also be directly summoned from the Steel Ark.
    • It possesses 2 weapons that it can freely switch between: the Strider's missiles, and the Levitron's "Magnetize" ability.
    • It has a boosted jump that enables it to leap high and far with the assistance of jets.
    • Bring a Levitron and a Strider close together to combine them. After combining, the pilot of the Levitron becomes the pilot of the Armamech. It can also be separated at any time.

Brand New Environments

  • Steel Ark:
    • A giant space battleship that will land on the map at the start of a match. You can enter it and explore inside. The core of the Steel Ark is a platform where you can summon the Armamech from the skies! You can launch yourself into the air in this mecha for everyone to see.
    • The ark consists of many areas. You can find all kinds of supplies and Supply Crates at the Command Post, Dormitory, Warehouse, and more.
    • From the landing pad, you can board an evacuation Wingman, which will take you straight to the Playzone!
    • You can use elevators and ziplines in the ark to get around.
    • Steel Ark Air Drop: A Steel Ark loaded with supplies will fly around during the match and drop supplies consisting of an Air Drop Crate and several Supply Crates at specific drop points.
  • Assembly Base:
    • The Assembly Base contains a Mecha Repair Station. Approach it in a mecha to replenish the mecha's health, fuel, and missiles.
    • On the top floor of the Assembly Base, there is a detector that can determine the location of crates within the Assembly Base. An Access Card can be found in one of the crates, which can be used to open the door to the Secret Room and get loads of supplies.

New Items

  • Jetpack: Pick it up and equip it to increase movement speed. It possesses the ability to hover in the air for a short duration. It consumes Energy rapidly when lifting off. Energy will only be replenished when you reach the ground. The Jetpack has a Health bar that protects you from damage to your back and arms. It will be destroyed after taking a certain amount of damage. When reaching a certain speed while moving forward, it can switch to a speed form. You will perform a special action when you tap "Lift Off" as it switches to the speed form. The Jetpack comes with the "Magnetize" ability, but you will not be able to fly fast when using it.
  • Personal AED: If you have this item, you can tap self-rescue after being knocked down. Once successful, you will recover from the knocked down state. Each player can only carry one of these items. Self-rescuing will be interrupted if you move while using this item.
  • Magnet Gun: This is a downgraded version of the Levitron's "Magnetize" ability in gun form. Switch to it by tapping on the firearm bar. It works the same as the Levitron's "Magnetize", but with reduced values.
  • Respawn Beacon: Throw the beacon on the ground to mark a location that the plane will pass over. Recalled teammates can parachute into the match again at the cost of a respawn chance. Teammates who have used up all their respawn chances cannot respawn.
  • Quick Parachute: When parachuting, a quick parachute button will appear at a certain height in the air. Tap it to immediately deploy the parachute which can also be freely put away.
  • Repair Station: Approach the Repair Station in a mecha to replenish its health, fuel, and missiles.

2024.05.14 11:56 Aureus-Nummus Exploring the Enigmatic Fourth Dimension: A Quantum Physical Phenomenon

My team and I are working on a quantum mechanical replacement of the GPS navigation system. The new navigation system will be much more accurate than traditional GPS (by a factor of 10000), and it will work without satellites and without terrestrial stations. It will work in areas where traditional GPS so far couldn’t be used, like underground inside mountains, in the deep sea or in space.
The work to establish a totally new navigation and guidance system based on quantum physics is an extraordinary endeavour, that also includes four dimension mathematics.
Science fiction has long captivated audiences by transcending the limits of human perception, delving into realms like the elusive fourth dimension. In Cixin Liu's "Remembrance of Earth’s Past" trilogy, the narrative vividly portrays a group of humans who, upon crossing into a four-dimensional space, perceive three-dimensional objects comprehensively, observing their interiors without obstruction. This exposure imparts a profound sense of claustrophobia upon their return to the conventional three-dimensional world. Similarly, Kurt Vonnegut's 1969 novel "Slaughterhouse-Five" presents a contrasting vision, depicting an alien race that perceives time—conventionally understood as the fourth dimension—as a tangible, navigable entity. These beings experience time non-linearly, observing and traversing different epochs as easily as one might travel across cities.
Parallel to its portrayal in literature, the concept of the fourth dimension has been a focal point of mathematical inquiry since the mid-19th century, coinciding with the emergence of science fiction as a genre. This inquiry challenges our intuitions, revealing that with each additional dimension, geometric and topological properties become progressively intricate and unfamiliar. Indeed, the fourth dimension is particularly unique, characterized by phenomena that defy the structures and rules applicable in lower dimensions.
Mathematical Foundations and Phenomena in Four-Dimensional Space
The intrigue of the fourth dimension gained significant momentum with the pioneering work of Bernhard Riemann in the 19th century, who expanded the framework of Euclidean geometry. Riemann's introduction of a manifold concept, which generalizes the notion of curves and surfaces to higher dimensions, has been foundational in understanding complex topological properties of four-dimensional spaces. These spaces are notoriously difficult to classify and visualize due to their non-intuitive properties and the breakdown of traditional mathematical tools used in three-dimensional contexts.
One of the most groundbreaking advancements in understanding these spaces came with Michael Freedman's proof of the Poincaré conjecture in four dimensions in 1981. This conjecture posits that a simply connected, closed four-dimensional manifold is homeomorphic to a four-dimensional sphere. Freedman's proof, however, was so complex that only a few mathematicians could comprehend it fully, illustrating the intricate nature of four-dimensional topological investigations.

Exploring the Enigmatic Fourth Dimension: A Nexus of Science, Fiction, and Mathematics
Science fiction and advanced mathematics intersect intriguingly when exploring the concept of the fourth dimension, a topic that challenges our perceptual and intellectual boundaries. Literature, like in Cixin Liu's "Remembrance of Earth’s Past" trilogy, illustrates humans encountering a four-dimensional space, perceiving three-dimensional objects in their entirety, which metaphorically underscores the profound differences and increased complexity in higher dimensions. Kurt Vonnegut, through "Slaughterhouse-Five," introduces a different concept where time acts as a physical dimension, allowing beings to navigate through various moments in history, suggesting a form of four-dimensional space-time continuum.
Theoretical Foundations of Four-Dimensional Spaces
In the mathematical realm, the study of four-dimensional spaces stretches our understanding of space and shape far beyond the conventional three dimensions. The formal study of these spaces often begins with the concept of a four-dimensional manifold, an extension of the more familiar two-dimensional surfaces and three-dimensional volumes. A four-dimensional manifold locally resembles Euclidean space and can be thought of as a collection of points with four coordinates.
Geometric and Topological Phenomena
One of the key geometric entities in four-dimensional space is the hypercube, or tesseract, an analogue to the cube in three dimensions. A tesseract is composed of 8 cubical cells and can be constructed by connecting corresponding vertices of two cubes in parallel planes. This object, while impossible to fully visualize in three-dimensional space, offers a glimpse into the complexity and richness of four-dimensional geometry.
Topologically, four-dimensional spaces are intriguing due to phenomena such as exotic smooth structures. Unlike in lower dimensions where smooth structures on spheres are unique, in four dimensions, there are infinitely many "exotic" smooth structures on a sphere—these are differentiable manifolds that are homeomorphic but not diffeomorphic to the standard four-dimensional sphere. This means they share the same topological space but differ in their smooth, differentiable structures.
Applications of Four-Dimensional Theory
The concept of knotted surfaces is another intriguing aspect of four-dimensional topology. Unlike knots, which are one-dimensional loops embedded in three-dimensional space, knotted surfaces are two-dimensional surfaces embedded in four-dimensional space. The simplest example is a two-dimensional sphere in four dimensions, which can be "knotted" in ways that are not possible in three dimensions. These phenomena provide insights into the flexibility and complexity of spatial relationships in higher dimensions.
Recent Mathematical Breakthroughs
Recent advances in the study of four-dimensional spaces have focused on understanding the properties of these exotic spheres and the implications for fields such as quantum field theory and cosmology. For instance, the smooth Poincaré conjecture in dimension four remains an open problem and is a focal point for ongoing research. It proposes that any smooth, closed, simply-connected four-dimensional manifold is diffeomorphic to the four-dimensional sphere, highlighting the unique challenges of topology in this dimension.
Future Directions in Four-Dimensional Mathematics
As mathematicians continue to explore these exotic structures and their implications, they are developing sophisticated techniques and theories to tackle unresolved questions. The study of four-dimensional spaces not only advances theoretical mathematics but also impacts physics, particularly in theories that attempt to unify the fundamental forces of nature through higher-dimensional frameworks like string theory.
Conclusion
The journey into the fourth dimension represents a profound challenge to our traditional views on geometry and space. It serves as a rich field of inquiry that bridges abstract mathematical theory with the tangible realities explored in theoretical physics and cosmology. As our understanding deepens, the line between science fiction and scientific possibility continues to blur, promising new insights into the fabric of the universe.

Recent Developments and Ongoing Challenges
More recent research continues to unravel the complexities of four-dimensional geometries. For instance, studies have shown that four-dimensional spheres can exhibit a variety of symmetries that go beyond our everyday experiences of rotations and reflections. These findings hint at the rich internal structure and potential for unusual geometric properties within four-dimensional spaces.
In addition to the study of spheres, the exploration of other four-dimensional forms has revealed new insights. Quantum mechanical models of diamond-shaped four-dimensional spheres have introduced even more layers to the already complex narrative. The study of two-dimensional surfaces embedded within four-dimensional spaces has shown that these surfaces can interact with their host dimensions in ways previously unimagined.
Theoretical Implications and Future Directions
The complexity of four-dimensional space also extends to knot theory. In three dimensions, knots are tangled loops of string that cannot be undone without cutting. In contrast, four-dimensional space allows for the "unknotting" of these knots, presenting a simpler scenario. However, this simplicity is deceptive, as new forms of complexity arise in the potential to knot two-dimensional surfaces like spheres. These knotted configurations provide further insight into the intricate structure of four-dimensional space.
As mathematicians continue to decode the mysteries of the fourth dimension, they are developing lists of significant problems to guide future research. The goal is not just to understand four-dimensional spaces in isolation but to integrate these findings into a broader mathematical and physical theory, potentially revolutionizing our understanding of the universe.
Conclusion
Despite the substantial progress made since the 19th century, four-dimensional space remains one of the mathematically least understood and most fascinating areas of physics and mathematics. It represents a frontier that straddles the abstract world of mathematical theory and the tangible realities explored in science fiction. Mathematicians need to find a general solution for quantum gravity and quantum entropy as fundamental basis for understanding the mathematics of four dimensions first, before trying to understand four dimensionality. It is abundantly clear now that the Einsteinian concept of portraying time as the fourth dimension is an error. Time is not a dimension, likewise gravity is not a force. Entropy appears to have a fundamental influence on the dimensionality of space, but also here mathematicians and physicists lack to understand these basic concepts. As research advances, we may find that the boundary between what is imagined and what can be understood is far more permeable than previously believed, offering profound implications for both theoretical science and practical applications in technology and cosmology. It is not far fetched to question whether entropy does not equal time and whether gravity is not a low energy minimum of entropy. Understanding these concepts will allow to properly investigate four dimensions.

2024.05.14 09:28 VolarRecords That WW2 UFO Footage is possibly narrated by David Grusch?

Not my text, resposting:
https://www.reddit.com/UFOs/comments/1crmb60/that_ww2_ufo_footage_is_possibly_narrated_by/
Props to for pointing this out!
And for this post.
Listen to the audio starting from :20 seconds up until :50 seconds on that clip that has been making the rounds. Grusch has a very particular inflection and pauses with “ahhh”, during that timeframe he does that about 3 times. He has a particular speech pattern that would be hard to disguise even with modulation.
Now listen to his opening statements here at the start from :10 to :35 he does the exact same type of inflections as in the distorted audio! Listen to them back to back, once you recognize the vocal patterns in his voice, the modulation does not hide that it is him. Why/how would RegicideAnon have a video that Grusch narrated???
Edit: this is the WW2 Archive Footage I am referring to
Edit2: pointed out his T’s also sound the same. In the opening statements at 1:08 you can hear how he ends “Current” and it ends very similarly to how he ends “It” and “Compensate” at :35 in the archived footage.
Edit3: Do Up/Downvotes affect post visibility? I only ask since from when I posted this almost an hour ago it has sat at 0, which is kinda strange that it’s being downvoted so heavily?
EDIT4: Okay so this one is a little weird, and very tinfoil-y I admit, but I feel I should point this out: Here is David Grusch’s resume
Note that during the timeframe this video was released, and around the time that MH370 occurred, David was:
July 2014 – December 2016, Adjunct Professor, School of Security and Global Studies, American Public University System (APUS)
• Undergraduate school professor developing technical coursework and program plans. Expertly instructed courses in the Intelligence Studies track, to include open source/social media analysis, signals and imagery analysis, and research methods.
December 2013 – March 2016, Chief, Intelligence Integration Division, Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), Reston, VA (USAF Active Duty)
• Lead military intelligence officer for the SSDP Director, a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) advising the Deputy Secretary of Defense (DEPSECDEF), Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence (PDDNI), and National Security Council (NSC). Coordinated sensitive Multi-INT collection activities and modeling/simulation to support national space security objectives and advanced NSG programs. SSDP intelligence lead for the standup of the National Space Defense Center (NSDC).
It’s possible that during his time at the university he was analyzing and restoring WW2 archival footage? In order to verify this we’d have to find someone that knew him around that time frame to confirm or deny that he spoke of this previously.
The second thing that stood out to me was “Coordinated sensitive Multi-INT collection activities and modeling/simulation to support national space security objectives and advanced NSG programs.” I know with the recent MH370 video going around people are saying that if it WAS a hoax it would need to be created with someone with military access and very very expensive and sophisticated equipment. Possible the same equipment used to model and simulate space security objectives and NSG programs? Maybe this was a recreation of an event that the government didn’t see but was told was a possibility?
Edit5: I know many are asking how we know the voiceover wasn’t added recently, unfortunately the link to the video on RegicideAnon’s page on web archive doesn’t work, however another link to the same video was found that was posted to Facebook on September of 2015, that includes the voiceover:
https://www.facebook.com/ufovni/videos/ww2-archive-footage-of-flying-sauce510648672443495/
Thanks to for translating the description on the video:
“The following video was confiscated from the Kodiak Historical Military Museum on September 7th 1993 (the voiceover in the video actually said November 7th 1993). Originally a collection of gradings were donated with no date record or source of recording. In the video a UFO can be seen flying low on an island, alongside the planes as it approaches the runway. The location and date of filming are unknown.”
Interestingly the info about the museum and the collections is not mentioned in the clip at all, suggesting this is either a clip of a longer video or that the poster “Paranormal” somehow got more info with the clip.
Final Edit: I know that some people are in the process of actually examining the audio with professional programs so hopefully soon we’ll have concrete evidence if the voices match, however I want to leave you all and anyone else that stumbles upon the thread with this last bit; check out the following two sections and judge for yourself if this “but” sound exactly the same.
:42-:46 of the WW2 Archive Footage
27:44-27:46 of the NewsNation Interview
Please keep up the fantastic discussion and as always don’t forget to keep reaching out to your state congress representatives to keep the pressure on disclosure! We all deserve the truth, for the betterment of humanity.

2024.05.14 06:59 TheyCallMeSir [90s/2000s] [PC] Puzzle/Riddle game based in Egypt, but could be history as a whole.

Platform: Pretty sure it was only on PC, Windows
Genre: 2D, Puzzles/Riddles
Estimated year of release: All school pcs had them iirc, mid 90's/early 00s.
Graphics/art style: The game was somewhat realistic, a lot of egyptian related items/themes, I don't remember any real life humans in the game, all cartoon scary humans/gods.
Notable characters: Egyptians (I think some of the gods but can't remember exact ones), You are a explorer (again memory is hazy)
Notable gameplay mechanics: I remember getting items which were used to progress, there were text boxes when characters were talking (IIRC), the choices you made mattered.
Other details:
Perhaps this game was a puzzle game with multiple eras, and I just never got past the first era which was Egyptian, I can't exactly remember. I do remember it being really confusing. I'm remembering perhaps you start off in a time machine or plane and crash land in Egypt and have to collect stuff to get out (could be waffle tho). The game was kind of creepy/spooky at times. There was a scene/setting with a blowdart, someone gets poisoned and u have to heal them or shoot them I can't remember.
