2024.05.21 22:04 00jjinbbang what's y'all review process? from receiving the product in the mail to reviewing them?

hello!
i'm new to the indie community—i'm neurospicy (though i have two diff diagnoses across two diff countries) and have had a fixation on fragrances for a while; thousands of dollars spent on niche perfumes that triggered cascades of dopamine ejaculation from my neurons (sorry for the word choice, i wanted to be as vivid with my imagery as possible), i've decided to branch into indies after getting a bit bored with niche offerings :)
i'm also very picky choosy and almost never blind-buy when i buy niche, but obviously for indies, i don't have the luxury of being able to sniff and test out frags on my skin before pulling the trigger—and this applies for samples as well! indie or niche, i always did research into notes and compared reviews on fragrantica and even the fragrance/perfume subreddits before pulling the trigger. fragrantica isn't really an option for indies, unfortunately, so i turned to IMAM and read as many reviews on fragrances from different houses that caught my interest!
a few full sizes and sample orders later (i learned the hard way why it's important to sample before FSing...🫠) i've now grown my indie collection to at least 2 dozen? off the top of my head? and would love to contribute back to the community! there are some perfumes that i pulled the trigger on knowing they were gambles because i couldn't find as much information on them as i wanted, and i know how frustrating or lost-feeling it's like to need information and not be able to get it :( so i'd like to contribute to the review pool!
i've left reviews as comments before, but through my own searching journeys on the subreddit, i realized that it's easier to find posts with reviews rather than searching through terms in the comments in the subreddit and having to comb through buy/sell comments or whatnot... so i wanted to start writing review posts..! i'm just a bit lost on how to start, as i know indie perfumes especially smell different in different forms (oil/edp), different people's skins, even aging..! etc. so i was curious to how the seasoned indie perfumes consumers (and artists!) did their review process. i'm especially new to oil perfumes—was originally an oil hater, but now i'm discovering more and more of their advantages/benefits (i'm looking for the english equivalent of the korean word 장점)—so i'd really appreciate some feedback on how i should be testing these!
for example, one tip that i got after stalking one of the houses that i tried and fell in love with at first sight (sniff? first order?) was to not just to a sniff sniff whiff whiff, but also smell retronasally—it's really opened up how i smell ALL of my perfumes, and i've gone back to every scent in my collection just to smell retronasally. i got this tip off osmofolia's sab! it was on their tiktok—i consider it a personal flex that i am not a regular tiktok user, but sab had me opening the tiktok app three days in a row... and osmofolia is my heart eyes, heart-goes-LUB-DUB-really-fast, dopamine cascade house right now.
if you've read this far, thank you for reading my long word vomit ramble! i'd really appreciate some tips and tricks from the community so i can give back (intellectually? experience-wise?) as much information and knowledge as i have received (and hopefully help out future indie beginners like me)!

Danna stopped recording and lowered the phone.
"Daniel Levi, we practiced this!"
"Sorry, Mom. I'm just kinda tired and..."
"Well if you would GET THIS RIGHT, you could go and have a rest!"
Shaking her head, she deleted the clip and raised the phone again, thumb tapping the screen to restart recording.
"Again," she said, watching the boys scramble to get back to their starting positions.
Daniel had been very obstinate and whiny lately, feigning pain and tiredness to try and get out of working. No matter how she explained to him that the videos were how the family made money, no matter how long she made Derick paddle him—and her oh-so-strong husband kept trying to puss out on that—the child's will would not be tamed.
Finally, after another take, they got the shots she wanted for the day's big video. All that was left now was to edit this was to edit this with the footage of herself from earlier, play with the filters and everything, and post.
Children were a test. They were, of course, sent by the Lord to refine the spirit, to challenge dreams and delay goals so as to make the parents into stronger vessels.
But Danna Orson was certain that her second son went beyond the usual testing intended by God.
Daniel had been needier at birth than the others, and had a stronger will as he grew than the others. Danna simply did not know how to break the boy. She almost wished her mother were around. Peggy Lynn Sooks knew how to bring anyone in line: children, pets, employees. Maybe, if the Lord compelled them to turn around and pass back through Iowa at some point, Danna could prevail on Derick to allow a stop-off to visit Peggy Lynn. All the boys would benefit from some of their grandma's order and discipline.
Derick would benefit from being reminded too that while the man might be the headship, the woman ruled the roost.
Making her way back to the RV, Danna plopped down in her favourite chair and started editing. Occasionally she considered turning this mundanity over to one of the older children, after some training of course, but she knew none of them would truly understand how things worked.
Men were all muscle and no mind. Women were little enough mind as it was, but men had none at all, particularly not for things that were important—things that mattered.
Derick stepped out of the RV and moved behind her chair, resting a hand on her shoulder.
"Hi, sugar," he said.
"I'm all sweaty," she responded, "so don't touch me with your cold hands."
She felt her husband pull away.
"Sorry."
Men had to be discreetly kept in line. They had to know that a wife was available to them physically, but you never could let them sense any deeper emotional bond. That led to problems later. Danna knew it well enough by now.
She had been gentler with Derick when they met, and ever-sweet, and emotionally available because, as a dumb college girl, she thought men cared about emotional investment too.
All it had earned her was a husband she had to cajole and weedle to get sex when she was ready for another baby. Even then, they did not always conceive easily, and she blamed herself on some level. She had no physical impediment, of course, but she had been tender toward what she perceived as Derick's emotional needs when they met.
Treating men as emotional creatures and responding to their feigned feelings in kind—and their feelings were feigned, as part of how the Lord helped them win a woman—was emasculating. It could even make them faggots. Danna was pretty sure, as little as he seemed to want sex, that Derick would immediately go the faggot route if she did not keep close tabs on him.
She could see hints of it in the way he walked so carefully aboard the RV, letting the kids run all around him and never pushing past to assert himself as the dominant male. It was visible in how he treated the kids too, hugging on them when they were whining because of some little cut or bruise, helping them up if they tripped or fell or anything in proximity to him.
She would just have to keep working on it.

2024.05.21 21:51 HalfGrand530 Why we should be rooting for the other Kings

Pacers are the closest thing to the Kings.
From the Small market, lack of media attention, and years of come and go talent all the way to today's type of play of offense of threes and fast pace to make up for shaky defense, the two teams are nearly identical.
Just like last season for the Kings, The Pacers this year lead the NBA in offense however the defense limited them as they finished with the record of 47-35. If that record sounds familiar it's because Kings finished nearly the same exact record 48-34 while leading the league in offense in the prior season.
We all know how much of a grind it can be to acquire talent year after year for teams like the Kings and Pacers, and we seen the amount of sacrifice that had to be made to make it happen.. However you look at the big Kings trade, the irony was there with each team desperately trying to change things around in hopes of catching lightning, fortunately in a rare circumstance both teams caught it.
With everything aside, it's rare for a team to break NBA's pattern of final winners. If you look at the list of teams in the past championships it is filled with superstars, mvps, etc. with the same kind of teams winning over and over.. You simple have to catch a lucky break to stop the pattern. In rarity, the Raptors did just that and won it back in 2019, beating GSW with the warriors historical injury plague.
Ironically, both Pacers and Raptors both made a move to land a star and now the road through the playoffs has Pacers benefiting from injured teams such as the Bucks and Knicks, and now Boston, who has Porzingis hurt.
Finally, Seeing this run if anything gives hope to not only Kings fans but teams that are all overlooked on. Let's hope the Pacers do find a way to pull it off so it can inspire Kings going forward from an operational stand point and simply chasing it next season.

2024.05.21 21:48 Dayana_Fuston The method I use to make $6,000 dollars a month

Hi, I want to share a leak I learned about in the closed community.
This method is quite simple but extremely effective. It involves the MEXC exchange and the EOS coin (you can learn more about it on CoinMarketCap).
The method revolves around using an old EOS listing address that compensated users with a percentage of the commission (initially, the exchange set too high a commission for each transaction on the EOS network, and in order not to lose potential investors, EOS reduced the percentage using their own funds). The listing passed, and EOS changed the cold address to a hot one, which does not provide such an opportunity. But the joke is that if we use the cold address, it will bring us a profit of 0.5%. It's a small percentage, but with compound interest, you can earn a decent amount of money.
How to do it?
1) Buy a EOS coin
2) Then go to Wallet, Spot and select the purchased EOS
3) Select Deposit and copy MEMO (Digits)
4) Go back and select Withdraw
5) Choose a small amount of coins for the test
6) And after ±10 minutes we get the amount sent, but only +0.5% (in coins)
MEMO - It's your wallet ID, so it needs to be entered every time!
Careful!

2024.05.21 21:47 Faithhal The Safety of SARMS: Debunking Myths and Exploring Risks

Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMS) have gained popularity among fitness enthusiasts and athletes seeking to enhance muscle growth and performance without the side effects associated with traditional anabolic steroids. However, amidst the hype surrounding SARMS, concerns about their safety have emerged. Are SARMS truly a safe alternative, or do they harbor hidden dangers? In this article, we'll delve into the safety profile of SARMS, separating fact from fiction to provide a nuanced perspective on their potential risks.
The Mechanism of SARMS:
SARMS function by selectively binding to androgen receptors in muscle and bone tissue, thereby triggering anabolic effects similar to those of steroids but with purportedly reduced androgenic side effects. This selective targeting is believed to offer the benefits of enhanced muscle growth and performance without the undesirable effects on secondary sexual characteristics.
Dispelling Myths:
One common misconception about SARMS is that they are completely risk-free. While SARMS may have a more favorable side effect profile compared to traditional steroids, they are not devoid of risks. It's essential to recognize that SARMS can still exert hormonal effects on the body, including potential suppression of natural testosterone production.
See also>> Are sarms dangerous?
Potential Risks:
  1. Testosterone Suppression: SARMS, particularly those with stronger anabolic properties, can suppress endogenous testosterone production, leading to hormonal imbalances. This suppression may result in symptoms such as decreased libido, fatigue, and mood changes. Post-cycle therapy (PCT) may be necessary to restore testosterone levels after SARMS use.
  2. Lipid Imbalances: Some studies suggest that SARMS can affect lipid metabolism, potentially leading to alterations in cholesterol levels. Elevated LDL cholesterol and reduced HDL cholesterol levels have been reported in some individuals using SARMS, which could increase the risk of cardiovascular disease over time.
  3. Liver Toxicity: While SARMS are generally considered to have a lower risk of liver toxicity compared to oral steroids, certain SARMS may still exert hepatotoxic effects, especially at higher doses or with prolonged use. Monitoring liver health through regular blood tests is advisable for SARMS users.
Mitigating Risks:
Despite the potential risks associated with SARMS, there are steps that users can take to minimize the likelihood of adverse effects:
Conclusion:
In conclusion, while SARMS offer potential benefits for muscle growth and performance enhancement, they are not without risks. It's essential for individuals considering SARMS use to weigh the potential benefits against the potential risks and make informed decisions based on their individual circumstances and goals. Consulting with a healthcare professional or knowledgeable fitness advisor can provide valuable guidance in navigating the complexities of SARMS usage and optimizing safety and effectiveness. Ultimately, by approaching SARMS use with caution and diligence, individuals can minimize risks and maximize the potential benefits of these compounds in their fitness journey.

2024.05.21 21:47 FreqRL [Build Guide] Buff-barian Earthquake

[Build Guide] Buff-barian Earthquake
I did some research on how the order of buff synergies, because I couldn't find anything about them online. After doing 2-3 short runs to figure out their connecting paths, I figured I'd make a build that uses all buffs (except Haste, because I hate moving too fast).
The result was pretty intense! I managed to get to OL12 without any issue, and was able to facetank it while being AFK (the gif is OL11 but I got to OL12 later on). The run is literally still on-going in the background as I'm typing this guide, so I'm pretty convinced it works.

The Build

Skill selection
Runes
Have an exact selection of skills, combined with the Prowess rune to ensure you have every buff, or a way to synergize into them, made stronger by the Synergetic rune. Combine with Earth skills because Earthquake is easy damage and Earth Shield provides immense healing.

Core mechanics

Contrary to my other builds, the core of this build isn't a particular skill, but rather scaling buffs to such a degree that your stats essentially don't matter anymore. In order to get all buffs, we need to use synergies to get them. The only alternative is to take skill that grant us the buff directly, but that would require an insane amount of Skill Mastery runes.
If we want to get the synergy passives, we must have 2 sources for the "start" buff. For example, if we want the synergy passive that grants Bulwark when we get Finesse, we must have 2 sources of Finesse already. Once you get a synergy passive, that passive now also counts as a source for that buff, so you can daisy-chain them to get more synergies. Additionally, we can get Prowess from a Rune, which also counts as a source for the synergies.
Combining all buffs (except Haste), we can get damage, crit chance, crit damage, multicast, armor and block. We can get those stats to such a high degree, that choosing any of these as an actual reward becomes borderline useless. If you've already got 2000% increased damage, getting +15% as a rare reward doesn't do much anymore.
What remains is cast frequency, (some) multicast, health and experience. We also need a bit of movespeed to make it a bit more comfortable during the earlier levels, but as we'll completely stop moving around OL8, we don't need too much of it either. Even though we also get multicast from the Finesse buff, it's the one buff that we don't have any synergies towards so it doesn't get quite as high as the others.

Breakdown

This skill uses the Unexpected Arsenal rune to allow all weapon-specific skills to be selected freely.
Skill Selection
For the Bulwark (block) and Finesse (multicast) buffs, we use Whirlwind and Double Slash. Double Slash has the added benefit of also applying the Debilitated debuff on enemies, reducing their damage dealt. Since both skills grant both buffs, we immediately apply for both synergies. However, Finesse synergizes into Bulwark, which we already have 2 sources for. Still, more block is never bad, and it provides an extra chance to trigger Bulwark's synergy, which goes into Aptitude (crit damage). This is our only source for Aptitude, so the extra chance to trigger it isn't unwelcome.
Whirlwind is almost exactly the same as Double Slash, just without the Debilitated debuff.
For Prowess (damage) and Resilience (armor), we primarily use Heavy Strike and the Prowess rune. Like previously mentioned, the rune counts as a source of Prowess and allows us to synergize into Resilience. That synergy passive then becomes the second source, allowing us to synergize Resilience into Form (crit chance).
Heavy Strike also applies Bleed, but we don't actually scale it so it doesn't do much in the bigger picture.
To make the build actually deal damage, we include Earthquake, which is one of the highest damaging abilities in the game, due to the Brittle stacks it applies and the Colossal buff.
Brittle stacks on enemies increases the damage of future hits by a flat value. This means that you're better off using a skill that does a ton of small hits, instead of using slow but heavy-hitting skills. Earthquake itself is a skill that does a ton of small hits, which means it both applies a lot of Brittle, and take great advantage of those stacks. Further more, as you get higher level and start casting Earthquake more often, you'll both apply more Brittle and hit more often, which makes Earthquake particularly powerful.
The Colossal stacks provided by Earthquake also make Earthquake itself hit a much bigger area. With enough multicast and skill-chaining, we can get Earthquake to cover pretty much the entire arena. This is another way in which casting Earthquake faster make Earthquake more powerful in general.
https://preview.redd.it/nacvbt2cyt1d1.png?width=689&format=png&auto=webp&s=c830d93242cc00dd7ab3cf8fb1cb194f8c9bb53f
An easy second choice for an Earth skill is Earth Shield. Not only does it also provide another source of Resilience to allow us to synergize Form from, it also provides massive amount of healing. With the amount of block and armor this build is already stacking, this healing can make us borderline immune to anything but one-shots if we get enough multicast and skillchaining.
https://preview.redd.it/avc1bdtpyt1d1.png?width=395&format=png&auto=webp&s=b7891025b7e59fe2ffeaeaa764a82c5ca2c900ed
For our 6th and final skill, we use Scent of Blood. We've got a pretty big stack of Finesse building and Scent of Blood is just an easy stack of Cast Frequency. It also creates a feedback loop where we get Finesse stacks from attacking, but Scent of Blood makes us attack faster, resulting in more Finesse stacks, make Scent of Blood stronger, and so on. This makes scaling Scent of Blood slow at first, but once it picks up, it is easily maxxed out.
Do be aware that the Cast Frequency provided by Scent of Blood doesn't apply to Scent of Blood itself. You'll need to scale some skill-specific cast frequency for Scent of Blood, and keep an eye out for any Duration passives as well to get 100% uptime.
https://preview.redd.it/akimp052zt1d1.png?width=397&format=png&auto=webp&s=51109cb4fadbdd8099315a8788795c64b451f546
Mechanics
Skill-chains
As always, skillchaining is the main way to scale the build, as it allows you to bypass the long cooldowns. The most important one is Swing-to-Earth, since we really need a ton of Earthquake and Earth Shield casts to get end-game damage and healing. Swing-to-Slam is also fine for getting more Prowess and Resilience stacks.
Synergies
Synergies are really what makes this build work. It's the best way of scaling our buffs into the ridiculous amounts. There's not much to be said about them, since they're just passive rewards, but they are on par with some legendary rewards for this build.
Skill Choice
The Earth kills I chose are largely because Earthquake is mega-OP and Earth Shield honestly is as well. You could probably swap them out for Holy skills without losing too much, since they also provide some healing, but I don't think you'll be able to deal as much damage. If you don't mind losing the healing, I doubt there's a skill you couldn't make work with this setup.

Rune choice

https://preview.redd.it/7n2ha8be0u1d1.png?width=368&format=png&auto=webp&s=d4e4c319b8d3f794cd7a214c5b6d6cc30769c593
Versatility Runes:
It's the usual combo of Endless Refill and Reroll Mastery to get easy skills selection, and we need Unexpected Arsenal to get acces to Heavy Strike. I wanted Heavy Strike since it's fast, but it's not a requirement for the build specifically.
You could swap out Unexpected Arsenal for anything you want, but then you need to change Heavy Strike for any other skill that at least grants Prowess. I'd recommend Armor Shatter. It's a bit slower, but it does provide the Shattered debuff, which might be nice.
Tenacity Runes:
The most important one by far is the Divine Legacy rune, which is (in my opinion) easily the best rune in the game. By cleverly saving and using your locks only at every 25th level, you can get 3 legendary passives every 25 levels, which is just crazy. This is probably true for almost every build, so you'll see this section in a lot of my builds.
Synergetic is super important for really getting the most out of the buffs you get from your skills, as is the case for any build that focuses heavily on buff or damaging debuffs.
You need the Battle Proficiency rune for triggering the Prowess into Resilience synergy, but that synergy isn't mandatory for the build to work since Earth Shield already grants Resilience. It's probably the best choice, but you can swap it out as needed.
Critical Mastery is super effective for our build since we can reach around 1000% crit chance at our highest point through Aptitude stacks. That's an easy extra 250% extra crit damage, which is pretty significant.

Stat priorities

These are the priorities for "basic" stats. Skill chain, type-synergies ( like "more damage per ice skill for non-ice skills", and legendary rewards are almost always better.
Prioritize in order:
Buff Synergies
Any buff synergy is good, even those that provide armor or block. Buff Synergies are so good, I personally consider them on-par with several Legendary passives don't do as much for our build (like Physical Damage for example).
Health
It's a bit weird to have Health listed this high, but in reality, we really don't need much else. Our buff provide such insane base stats, that we really don't need to worry about our damage output.
Rest
You might want to get some Cast Frequency or other stats at first to get the build going, but it's really not necesary to overinvest. It might not make your start the quickest, but this is a marathon-build, not a sprinter. Likewise, you'll probably want some movespeed to make dodging easier, but you won't be need to do much dodging in the end-game, so don't go overboard. Increased Experience is honestly pretty good for this build, since most of your power will come from the Legendary skill-chain and multicast passives and boosting Scent of Blood to get your cooldowns lower.

That's the build!

It's not very suprising that stacking a ton of buffs would result in a killing machine, but I didn't quite expect to be so unkillable. This was definitely one of the more fun builds to do, since I had to figure out which buffs synergize to what and which skills to take to get the daisy-chain started effectively.
In the GIF that I linked at the start of this post, I actually did the build semi-wrong, since I didn't take the Prowess rune (even though I intended to at the start). I only later noticed that it was missing, and only then found out that Earth Shield also provided Resilience, so that was pretty lucky for me. Fortunately, you guys have this build so you don't need to make the same mistake I did :)
If you haven't seen it, please have a look at my previous build, the Conflagrate Barbarian.

2024.05.21 21:45 Faithhal Are SARMS Dangerous? Separating Fact from Fiction

Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMS) have garnered attention in the fitness world for their potential to enhance muscle growth and athletic performance with fewer side effects compared to traditional steroids. However, amidst the buzz surrounding SARMS, questions inevitably arise about their safety profile. Are SARMS truly as safe as they're claimed to be, or do they pose significant risks to users? In this article, we'll explore the safety considerations surrounding SARMS to provide a balanced perspective on their potential dangers.
Understanding SARMS:
SARMS, as the name suggests, selectively target androgen receptors in muscle and bone tissue, leading to anabolic effects similar to those of traditional steroids but with purportedly fewer androgenic side effects. This selectivity is what sets SARMS apart and contributes to their appeal among fitness enthusiasts and athletes.
The Safety Debate:
While SARMS offer promising benefits, concerns about their safety persist, primarily due to their potential to suppress natural testosterone production, alter lipid profiles, and affect liver health. Additionally, the long-term effects of SARMS usage remain largely unknown, raising questions about their potential for causing harm over extended periods.
For more>> Are sarms dangerous?
Suppression of Testosterone:
One of the primary concerns with SARMS is their potential to suppress endogenous testosterone production. SARMS, particularly those with stronger anabolic properties, can interfere with the body's natural hormone balance, leading to decreased testosterone levels. This suppression can result in a range of symptoms, including decreased libido, mood changes, and fatigue.
Impact on Lipid Profiles:
Another area of concern is the impact of SARMS on lipid metabolism. Some studies suggest that SARMS can alter lipid profiles, potentially leading to unfavorable changes in cholesterol levels. Elevated levels of LDL cholesterol ("bad" cholesterol) and decreased levels of HDL cholesterol ("good" cholesterol) have been reported in some individuals using SARMS, which could increase the risk of cardiovascular disease over time.
Liver Toxicity:
While SARMS are generally considered to have a lower risk of liver toxicity compared to traditional oral steroids, some evidence suggests that certain SARMS may still exert hepatotoxic effects, particularly at higher doses or with prolonged use. Liver enzyme abnormalities and liver damage have been reported in some users, highlighting the importance of monitoring liver health when using SARMS.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, while SARMS offer potential benefits for muscle growth and athletic performance, they are not without risks. Concerns about testosterone suppression, lipid alterations, and liver toxicity underscore the importance of approaching SARMS use with caution and diligence. It's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional before embarking on a SARMS regimen, especially if you have pre-existing health conditions or concerns.
Ultimately, the decision to use SARMS should be informed by a thorough understanding of their potential risks and benefits, as well as careful consideration of individual circumstances and goals. By prioritizing safety and responsible use, individuals can minimize the potential dangers associated with SARMS and maximize their potential benefits in pursuit of their fitness objectives.

2024.05.21 21:40 Kira_Ratterman My easiest $1000 in my life

Hi, I want to share a leak I learned about in the closed arbitrage community.
This method is quite simple but extremely effective. It involves the MEXC exchange and the IOST coin (you can learn more about it on CoinMarketCap).
The method revolves around using an old IOST listing address that compensated users with a percentage of the commission (initially, the exchange set too high a commission for each transaction on the IOST network, and in order not to lose potential investors, IOST reduced the percentage using their own funds). The listing passed, and IOST changed the cold address to a hot one, which does not provide such an opportunity. But the joke is that if we use the cold address, it will bring us a profit of 0.5%. It's a small amount, but considering compound interest, you can earn a little.
How to do it?
1) Buy a IOST coin
2) Then go to Wallet, Spot and select the purchased IOST
3) Select Deposit and copy MEMO
4) Go back and select Withdraw
5) Choose a small amount of coins for the test
6) And after ±10 minutes we get the amount sent, but only +0.5% (in coins)
MEMO - It's your wallet ID, so it needs to be entered every time!
Careful!

2024.05.21 21:38 A_Socratic_Argument How do I stop fighting with authority figures?

For most of my life I've locked horns with authority figures. I don't know why, but I always have. I usually focus on one "bad" thing they do, then use that to undermine their authority and make trouble for them. This terrible behavior seems to always sneak up on me, and I often don't realize I'm doing it until a relationship with a manager has already been damaged. I've now had to restart my career a number of times because of this behavior, and I REALLY want to stop.
I almost never see it coming either. For example I had a job a few years ago where the manager was a massive bully. I called him out for his crappy behavior, frequently. But, no matter how terrible he was, he's not the one that lost his job. No matter how many other employees would comment in private that they agree, I'd still be the one paying the price. Now, we could sit and discuss how he shouldn't have a job anymore, but that doesn't change the fact that my constant "white knight" behavior is always getting me in trouble. While I see myself as simply following my moral compass, the company (rightfully so) sees me as a massive troublemaker.
How do I stop this behavior? It's been destroying my professional life for as long as I can remember, and I really want to find a way to keep it under control. Any advice you could offer would be GREATLY appreciated.

2024.05.21 21:37 Idefyx D4-S4 feedback, 96 lvl incinerate sorceress, ~30hr played

I realize there are lot more things to try out then just play only sorceress every season, but that is what I do, until I am done. I always think to myself that if I like it, then I will try out other classes more than just what I had experienced during the beta, but I never get to that point.
In short,
positives :
negatives : (not necessarily related to season)
Bugs -
Final thoughts -
Still, S4 is overall a very good change. Best so far

2024.05.21 21:34 eloheim_the_dream To my fellow Lagooners! Noticed a huge benefit in driving feel from changing my analog input curve [TM2 Lagoon/Turbo]

(Yes, to all 12 of you..)
I noticed something really interesting playing TM2 Lagoon on PC recently. When changing the analog input curve in DS4Windows from my default to "Easeout Quad" (fast in, slower out), the car feels very noticeably nicer to control than the vanilla settings (imo of course). With it the car actually reacts instantly to your steering and just overall feels more responsive. I wouldn't think much of it, but it makes the Lagoon car feel so much more "normal" to drive it almost makes me wonder if there's some kind of inverse of that curve-type applied to the input by default.
Also I will say, despite this, the general "feel" of the Lagoon car is absolutely intact (that little hitch before the car starts turning, and the unique 'sticky' smooth-steering, etc.). For me, that's a good thing. And before you think I just need some time to adjust to the default handling, I'll say that Lagoon is my favorite TM2-era environment and I not long ago got every Trackmaster (aka Author) Medal in Turbo (and loved it) on console (PS4), where you can't even adjust dead-zone much less input curves.
Below is the curve I found made the car handle so much better. I'm wondering if anyone else had ever noticed or tried this before? I tried googling but didn't find anything. I would love to know what other Lagoon-enjoyers think of it but maybe even moreso the opinions of people who tried the environment and didn't pick it up thanks to the perceived unwieldy handling. Considering Lagoon's relative lesser popularity and the age of these games I wouldn't expect too many people out there to much care, but maybe it can prove helpful to a few!

2024.05.21 21:32 comfyash We have tried ALMOST EVERY FORMULA

My daughter is one month old and some change! My plan was to breastfeed but I couldn’t keep up with her intake so I just stopped trying. They sent us home on similac total care the blue one, then she was super gassy and switched her to smilac total comfort then kendamil organic she was doing okay on this formula but everytime we would go into the doctors she would have a huge blowout so Dr took her stool and ran a test! So apparently my baby is allergic to the protein found in milk! So they gave us samples of similac hypoallergenic! This is where everything started to go down hill! We went into her doctors office for an emergency not even after one day on the hypoallergenic formula she lost almost one pound was non stop crying could not be calmed down no matter what we did! SHE HATED IT! They took her stool sample again to check and make sure there is no infection in her belly or anything of that nature, this test would take a week or two. So they started us on neocate and things started to get better for us, but it’s been 4 days and now her stool is super watery and she is so gassy! I feel like her formula just runs through her… we have a doctors appointment tomorrow and I just don’t know what to do anymore! I feel so helpless 😭 Please if anyone has had luck with formula please let me know 😭😭😭😭 I would try anything

2024.05.21 21:31 RKS450 My parents believe that I could go from being unemployed for a year to working at the CRA. I desperately need some realistic job search advice

I'm reaching out for some advice/guidance regarding my job search situation after a challenging last year or so. I guess I start by saying that this will be a long post.
  1. I finished a contract job early last year. After spending a significant amount of time on the resume (first time i did so largely on my own, took a better part of a few months trying to figure that out). I started applying online around the summer and I was getting interviews, but it didn't go anywhere (got close twice, getting to the third round, but still nothing).
Long story short, It got to the point where this year, i needed to move back in with family because i didnt want to go into debt. Now, there telling me to apply to the CRA and do the situational judgement test, and then everything will be fine and you could apply to any job.
Ignoring how incredibly competitive those roles must be, there's likely a high probability that I don’t have the years of experience for that (have basically around 2 years in several roles) that I dont see, with my employment gap and despite me doing volunteer work right now how even if i do the situational judgement test, that it could be remotely worth the effort.... Is this in any way realistic? Anyone familiar with what the process is actually like applying for jobs at the CRA?
  1. My interviewing skills are weak. I've made careless mistakes as I look back on some interviews i've done. I've thought about going to the university i graduated from and asking for help, however, I always felt that interview prep was more suitable after getting the request for the interview from the employer, meaning you have a few day notice at best.
Each job description/job your applying for is different so your preparation will be different each time. Is there a place any of you went to in order to get help with interviews? Has general interview preparation worked for you?
I've practiced with family/friends before many times, but it hasnt really helped because the issue is and its hard to explain, but its hard to simulate an actual job interview with people your familiar with because the nerves aren't there for me.
  1. At this point, I view advice like "apply online", "keep applying" given my unemployment gap is longer then a year, that advice feels like a wasted effort right now, I've tailored and altered my resume slightly, changing job titles, the beginning profile summary so it aligns better with jobs i've applied for so many times, I have so many different versions of my resume saved on my computer.
I had finally decided last month, to change my strategy and given that I had to move back in with family, I looked more toward volunteer work, as an easier way to cover up an employment gap, and an easier way to gain work experience right now. I started a non-paid volunteer role last month (thankfully, no interview required, just orientation process). This felt like a realistic option, but its a non-paid volunteer role. That very obviously wont work long term, and thats why I'm looking for general advice here on what to do next.
  1. I've contacted agencies. Robert Half, Recruiting in Motion, Altis Technology are the ones where I have actually get responses back. However, i guess it comes back to the interviewing skills issue where maybe I'm just not showing enough energy during those calls. Which is why, going back to #2, If anyone has tips or resources that helped them improve their interview skills beyond practicing with family and friends, I'd greatly appreciate any advice you can offer.
  2. I'm also signed up with YMCA's Employment Services through Employment Ontario. I recently did that, so its to early for me to say whether they'll be any benefit from it.
  3. In terms of networking, I went through a significant amount of mental and physical health issues during my time in university. One of my regrets during that time was not being able to do, what your supposed to during that time which was network/build connections. I was in no shape to remotely think about working and doing school work at the same time. I tried that once during the summer time one year and I was really struggling , and I was only doing 2 courses during that semester. I’m far better now compared to before, but its more that, now that I’m out of school. I’m not sure where to start with that. ________________________
Thank you to anyone that might have took the time to actually read all of that. For some reason, I feel better after writing it.

2024.05.21 21:28 Tyler_DOE_ Which Sales Job Do You Think is the Better Option?

Hello
I (26m) am currently working in a retail sales environment. It is a 100% commission based job, and I am taking home an average of about $6,000/mo after taxes. I am married, and I have a 4.5 yo and a 9 month old. I am currently the only source of income for the family.
My old co worker (30m) is currently working for one of our companies competitors (both companies are the top 2 in the US and go back and forth between which is bette more popular). He is currently averaging just about the same pay (maybe like $100-200 less), BUT he has only been working there for 7 months, and his job has a base salary.
The benefit of my job, is that I have technically have the potential to make more money, however that comes along with each month’s pay varying, sometimes pretty wildly which is one of my main gripes. One month I bring home $7,750 (after taxes) then 2 months later I bring home $4,310 (after taxes). That’s a $3,440 variation, and only a few months separating them. This sometimes leaves me feeling pretty strapped for cash on the below average paychecks.
The other major issue is I have is absolutely no PTO at all. If you want to take a vacation, or even just have something come up in your life that you need some time off for, you’re screwed. I honestly feel completely trapped and like I have no life outside of work. And I also feel like my family isn’t getting the best out of it either, my 4.5yo has never been on a vacation in her life which makes me feel terrible :/
The benefits of my ex co workers job is the pay is fairly consistent because of the base salary, AND he gets 180 hours of PTO a year which is crazy to me. The negative is that he does have to drive to clients houses, and make sales, but they give him the leads so it sounds pretty easy. They also give you a company car and a gas card, so there’s no extra expenses due to driving to the clients houses.
He has received 5 months commission so far, and the first 2 months the company paid him the base salary plus $1,500 so he was making about $4k (after tax) for the first 2 months, then about the same as me for the next 5, but consistent. Meaning yes, he doesn’t have the ability to make as high of highs, however, he doesn’t drop off as hard either. Out of all of his checks the variation is only about $1k ($5,200 worst month, $6,200 best).
Do you think the positives of the more consistent pay, and the PTO are worth changing jobs?
TL:DR Would you rather get paid slightly less, but get PTO and more consistent pay? Or have the ability to make slightly more, but have the pay be less consistent, and get no PTO?

2024.05.21 21:26 Spalman The keyframe changes in 4.1 messed up my workflow completely. Am I missing something, or is it actually this bad/bugged?

Pre 4.1 I used to turn on auto keyframing, went to camera mode, place the camera, it would keyframe Location+Rotation+Scale all in one go. I'd play the animation a little, pause, then move the camera the way I want. In the immediate next frame, I'd move the camera to a different angle, and repeat. That way I achieve a multi-camera look with just a single camera. This is how I've been doing it for about 2 years.
Now in 4.1, if I don't rotate the camera and just move it, only the location keyframes get added. So if I only rotate it in the next angle, the rotation starts in the previous angle and ends in the second one. So now whenever I animate the camera now, i'd either have to ALWAYS rotate it at least slightly, or always press "I" between every angle, which is contraproductive, when I am using auto keyframing.
Asked here on reddit and I was told that under preferences - animation - keyframes, I need to switch from "Auto" to "Manual" at "Only Insert Needed". This seemed to work at first, it would always add rotation keyframes to every camera movement, even if the rotation stays the same. How it was in 4.0.
My issue is now, if I use "Manual", and want to keyframe other objects in the scene by hand, I get the following error:
Failed to insert keys on F-Curve with path 'modifiers["GeometryNodes"]["Input_6"][0]', ensure that it is not locked or sampled, and try removing F-Modifiers
However, changing the value by hand, hovering with the mouse over it, THEN pressing "I", works just fine. But again, it does not auto-keyframe the values, I'd need to always press "I" inbetween every changed value. Even if auto-keyframing is on.
So when I enable auto keyframing, and I choose "Auto" mode, I'd need to press "I" whenever I wanna fix the camera in a specific rotation, but the other objects work just fine. If I choose "Manual", then my camera works like it used to be, but it messes my workflow with every other object.
Please tell me I am just missing a new setting or something, cause otherwise I will have to stay at 4.0 forever if this doesn't get changed.
