Dramatic title, but I can't really explain it that well in few words. I also couldn't figure out a Subreddit that this would fit on, I think this one is best.
This one's a long one. TL;DR at bottom, but some details are important.
A bit of backstory first.
I'm a recently graduated HS Senior, headed to university in Fall. Around March, I applied to work at a mid-sized stadium in my area for a summer job-- I have about 2 years of stable retail experience, plus ServSafe certification and some good credentials outside of that. I've left almost all my jobs on good terms and I do my work fine. Never had any complaints.
I am a black woman. That is relevant to my story. I also have a very "white-sounding" name. For the sake of my privacy, let's say it's Sarah McIntyre. It's got the same vibe. I also have a "white-sounding" voice, especially over the phone. A lot of my family pokes fun at it, and it's not a huge deal.
So, I'm applying to this job, and the online application is pretty sparse. Few questions about my experience, age, and contact info. Nothing about my race at all. I apply, get a request for a phone interview, and hop on a call a few days later. My manager loves me. We have a great interview. She emails me a day later and says I got the job, and my orientation is in a week.
Orientation goes on, it's in a pretty large group and she doesn't address any of us directly or even ask for names, but I noticed her giving me a bit of a weird look. I figured it was about my hair which is dyed bright green so whatever.
We start working, and she's just very weird to me the whole time. Gives me weird looks, doesn't answer my questions, always watching me while I'm working at the concessions register. She doesn't do this with any of the other girls there. Concessions is about five other girls, all around my age. All of them are first-years at the stadium.
I get ready for work the next day, and I get a call from my Manager:
"Hey, OP. Don't come in today." "Oh? Is the game called off?" "No. Someone else is covering you. Bye."
Which was incredibly weird to me, honestly. But I wasn't going to press on the issue-- it was the first shifts of the season, maybe she wanted to train someone else instead of having me work. After this, there was about a month and a half gap between my next shift, which was May 9. Then I have another May 11; both go fine.
Manager posts the schedule for the next few weeks, up until June 9. I have one single shift. One. A four-hour concessions shift. I was insanely confused by this-- it's the start of the season with home games almost every single day, and multiple events with huge crowds. I texted the other girls I work with through our scheduling app and asked what their shifts looked like-- 3 to 5 shifts every week, about six hours each.
I was seriously wracking my brain for 3 days straight trying to think why on Earth I got the short end of the stick. I show up early and leave late every day, I help out as much as I can, customers don't complain, I'm experienced with the register and with counting tender, my co-workers and I get along fine, I've never had any issues with anyone.
The only thing I could seriously think about was my race. Which feels very cheap and victim-y, but it was the only thing I noticed that was an outlier. Out of every single employee at our stadium, I am the only person of color. Maybe somebody else is a minority, too, but they're incredibly white passing if they are. The only other brown people are the baseball players, which aren't on our staff team-- they're a separate entity entirely.
But that's all I can think of-- and my manager wouldn't have known about my race until she saw me for the first time at my first shift. And it's kind of difficult to have all-white staff considering we are in the suburbs of Chicago. Most people in our area are Black or Latino. It's seriously a considered effort to have an all-white staff in this area. I think I may have just slipped through the cracks because my name and voice are very misleading? But I can't tell if I'm overreacting or not-- I haven't said anything to my manager.
I don't want to quit because my coworkers are really nice, and I love the job. It's great being outside and being in a fun and fast environment like a stadium. But I'm trying to save for university and that's difficult when I don't work at all. Plus, I don't wanna give my labor to someone who despises me.
Am I overreacting in this situation and getting ahead of myself, or is this actually something worth looking into? Please help me. And yes, I know that it's very overdramatic to make things about my race-- this is genuinely the first time I've had to consider this with an employer.
TL;DR I'm the only minority at my job and I get barely any shifts while my white coworkers get more. I don't do anything wrong and I have lots of experience in similar roles. Should I look into this more, or get over myself?

So since people were asking for an update. Here we go.
We did not end up having a following date. She got tired from paragliding the next day(yesterday) I even went and nag relax sa beach malapit sa resort n'ya para if ever na mag reply s'ya na gusto n'yang lumabas eh malapit na'ko hahah. So when I asked her to hangout today she declined dahil she's done going outside. And she's leaving tomorrow morning na ren. She's introverted autistic so understandable. I respect it. But I tried asking for one more night kahit na sa hotel lang at mag usap just like the first night. I was gonna get flowers otw pa naman and give her my bracelet that I'm wearing during the time na I was with her and one of our photo booth picture na may hand written letter ko sa likod. But oh well 🤷‍♂️. Am I upset? A lil bit but I came in terms with it. She was probably overwhelmed den dahil sa bagong experience at talagang I did my best talaga.
Now, were just chatting online na lang pero not like fast replying talking stage type shit.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything naman talaga after she leaves dahil considering every circumstances I know na di kame mag wowork as an ldr. Pero I love to think na what made it special between us was the underlying bittersweet part nga na we know there's an ending and have an idea about it. Just like a movie, may umpisa at may katapusan. Yes, it was like a movie(pinanood ko yung Before Sunset na sinabe nung unang comment sa first part ng post ko) so yeah for the most part it was really like that.
So now, from what I'm seeing between us we would just keep in touch through discord pero that's about it. I didn't ask her to get connected sa socmed na ren. Because it would make me keep my memory of her from those nights. This beautiful, interesting, mysterious, and weirdly fun woman I met.
I even told her to my friends. I told them the story and what happened. I told them what I'm telling you guys rn.
I honestly just wish she had an amazing time with me. Like something she'll remember for good amount of time. I really hope the best for her. I hope I've set the standard for her and she won't settle for less than me if she ever starts dating.
As for me? She changed me. Remember how I said I'm not the ideal guy sa first post ko? Yeah. I would frequently hookup. Had fwb/fubus. Would to multiple girls at the same time. I was like that.
But after meeting her and finally experiencing something like that and romanticizing everything about us, I liked it.
I long for something like that again but not right now. In the future sure.
So I deleted all my dating apps. Kinausap ko mga current girls na kinakausap ko and told them what happened which is unusual for me dahil almost everytime when I'm done talking with a girl I would just ghost them because it's easier for me. Stuffs like that, talagang binago n'ya ako. One of my friends is even proud of me. Kaya I even gave them the condoms that I'm supposed to use pa. Some of them aren't fond den sa lifestyle ko e hahah
But yeah, I'm done chasing girls and being sexually motivated. I would rather instead romanticize my own life. Make my own adventure and connect with people I meet along the way.
I even had my friend help me to make a bucket list for me. After namen mag usap kanina I submitted my leave request. I'm planning on going to a vacation on a different place na ren. Who knows? I might find someone who I'll go out with on wherever I go. I'm not gonna actively chase it but that does sounds fun naman haha parang sa perspective n'ya.
It might be not the kind of ending that you guys were hoping(me too) but it's an ending. So yeah, I hope she'll have a good life. I told myself na babatiin ko s'ya ng happy birthday ever.

I am posting to check if anyone has advice/experience with thesis withdrawal from a PhD examination procedure in order to transfer to another university. It's a bit of a story as it's rather complex.. Thanks for reading!
I've found myself in a bizarre situation after the continued neglect by my supervisors caused my external examiner to withdraw over what she called an 'unprofessional' and 'unethical' course of events. My PhD is a practice-led research in Contemporary Art, for which a public exhibition of the artwork produced is to be examined in interaction with a thesis. Through the careless behaviour of my supervisors —responsible for communication with examiners—, neither of my 2 examiners made it to either of 2 exhibitions I organised around the submission of my thesis. My examiners continued to push me into entering the viva using video documentation of the artwork, which, due to the performative nature of the work, would jeopardise significantly the theory presented in the thesis. By accident I found out my external examiner had withdrawn 6 weeks earlier over the fact she was asked to examine based on video documentation of the artworks. She is a highly suitable senior academic and internationally practicing artist who accepted to examine on the condition she would have access to the practice in a live format. My supervisors chose to withhold her withdrawal from me and then claimed I would enter the viva with another external examiner they had allocated, yet whose relevance for my research is highly debatable. At this point I decided to approach the Head of the Graduate Research School who acknowledged the breach of trust and breakdown of communication, removing my supervisors from the research and suspending the examination.
I am now in conversation with 2 universities who are interested in my research, offering a period of development/public presentation of the next iteration of the practice. Clearly, I am eager to move into a new, supportive context. I am aware of a potential bottleneck however, which is that my thesis has been submitted for examination already. Even with help of the student's union of my university it is still impossible to find clear regulations, but what's available hints at the university 'owning' my thesis following its submission. I have received 4 years of scholarship for which I have always lived up to the agreement in terms of writing and practice. While this last-minute crash of the PhD is caused by misconduct of university staff, it is likely the university is unwilling to release my thesis from the examination, and might attempt to claim back the scholarship if I decide to not pursue the PhD with them.
Online I'm finding conflicting information regarding withdrawal from subsidised phd's in terms of reimbursement of funding, or the moment a university 'owns' a thesis. I would be extremely grateful for any advice, interpretation or sharing of experiences here. I am willing to fight for my research, but not sure I want to end up entangled in a legal procedure.

Developer and publisher Eridani Entertainment - in partnership with Lightspeed Studios and Billions Stud Entertainment Network - plans to release a "fun game" and a huge answer to Ubisoft's 2014 game "The Crew", after the live service game was almost erased from the face of The Earth, to be survived by its worse descendant, The Crew 2.
"Blue Marble" is an open world action adventure game set in a stable era sometime in the 2040s. Set on a condensed map of North America (southern Canada and the lower 48), it is a little bit more than The Crew; players can actually step out of their vehicle in third person and interact with their environment.
Blue Marble is basically a lifesim, but comes with a stunning cinematic campaign story.
Lead design director Jack Paris stated, "this is the entertainment industry and consumers want fun and entertainment and for those who are bored with postapocalyptic and medieval genres and don't like being treated as if they're in prison or a third-worlder from a wartorn $$$$hole - excuse my French - or like to feel as if they're playing something made by a British alphabet agency, then Blue Marble is the game for you. If you're sick of the medieval crap or games constantly set in a postapocalyptic America, then Blue Marble is definitely for you."
Players can create their own character or just play as the stock characters - 20something year old dude Thales or dudette Trissy - as they complete the main story campaign.
Thales or Trissy or your custom character has just relocated from a postapocalyptic Great Britain, which has been destroyed and occupied by Russian forces and prepares to start a new, fun and exciting life in North America.
But things don't go according to plan as the protagonist gets caught up with biker gangs, drifters, shady organizations, dangerous racing outfits and dirty cops. So, Blue Marble is certainly more than a racing game, but a sort of "one-stop shop".
Whilst there is no concrete plan for a PC release (which could be in ten years' time or not at all), the game will be released first on PS5 and Xbox and analysts anticipate a sale of more than 300,000 units on console (digital and physical) within the first three months.
CEO of Eridani Entertainment Brogan English added, "this huge game will be released on console first. After ten years, you may see a release on PC, but that's not a concrete plan."
Blue Marble will have both an offline and online mode, with servers of up to 40 players each.

I was in a tough spot a few years ago. Went searching for a family when I had good people around me all along. I was raised Christian but had so many unanswered questions like most of us. I joined a church but didn’t do my research (smfh) Long story short.. the head pastor has been in soooo many sex scandals. I didn’t find out till after I left. TMI: his D has the thickest singular vein I’ve seen🤣🤣 the pictures and videos are all online Working with cult.. oops I mean church leaders🤣 I have seen upside down pineapples in their homes, lots of porn, bouncing toddlers who can’t speak yet on grown men’s laps during night vigils ( in front of the ditzy single mothers who are the number one financiers and supporters of the church) and their personal favorite.. You Guessed it! Homosexual relationships!… but they clean themselves off dry then jump on the pulpit to preach against all the ‘fun’ they just had. But of course they are special because God is still “working on them”🤣😂😂 The church was repeatedly told never to speak on the head pastors “alleged” infidelities. So I never researched what was going on. I thought I was a super Christian lol Sadly I was drinking the kool aid too. I was so into it, spending all my HARD earned money and spent almost 4 days a week there. Gotta love that good ol deprivation and manipulation. They even tried to rope me in a love triangle with some ‘leaders’ . I refused and when I called them out on it, the church tried to estrange me and tarnish my image. Claiming I’m on drugs and other lies. I don’t even drink smh but I know some of them who do This made me HATE the religion and immediately discredit it. There is so so much more but I’m just venting a little here. It’s sad because they have thousands of members worldwide. I guess they thought I would be mad but I’m happy and feel so FREE! Like I can literally listen to music and watch movies again. I can also go to more places than work church and home and occasionally the store. You would get reprimanded for going out or casually dating. I’m just happy I escaped a terrible place. Yes this sounds crazy but its true. If I saw that in such a short amount of time, just imagine what others who try to escape but are too scared of go through. Number one lesson I learned: Christian leaders LOVE SEX DRUGS AND most of all ….MONEY! True rockstars and hypocrites 🤘

Hi guys, so this post is basically about a friend of mine. She and I attended the same university and became very good friends. She was good in her studies and was one of the shinning stars of our batch. She didn't follow our career path( thats her personal choice) maybe because she belonged to a very well off family. Whenever i used to ask her k yr tm kuch kr nai rai, waleyan mar rai ho, kuch krlo, kheti thi mjhe zaroorat nai ha, and we would laugh it off. Her father worked in real estate, very nice and friendly man, but due to some frauds in his business he incurred heavy losses that they had to sell their house in Dha lahore and moved to a rental house in early 2023. She used to tell me that his father is under a lot of stress as he had to repay the investors and no one is helping them, not even few words of encouragement. Their relatives and old neighbours used to check up on them but they to gradually stopped doing it. In the end of 2023, maybe october or November, her father passed away due to a heart attack. They family of three were left devastated ( my friend, her littler brother and her mother). The life insurance of her father covered almost all of their debt. With no source of income, she started searching of jobs in our field, but Because she had no prior experience, no good firm was hiring her. Many of our friends from our circle tried to help her financially, but she straight up refused saying that my father raised a strong willed girl and she will not succumb to such means. I remember she used to say, jo bhi krna ha khud krna ha. So in 2024 she started working and researching how e commerce worked. Recently she launched her online store where she has listed international beauty and skin care products.
This post is not to ask anyone for financial help or anything of that sort, i just wanted to share her story of resilience. I hope Allah Pak eases her path and gives her the will to continue. Ameen.

Requirements :
-Director Mode Save Migrated and downloaded onto the New Gen Console
-Friend in Public session and also inside Titan of Job mission and playing chilling in the mission or Solo If you are lucky and have second console like me 👍
Steps :
-Make sure to have a save downloaded on the console ( Once you got the save with the cars you made from save editor and all that save wizard ) . go ahead and make an auto save with that director mode save
💎 ( So every time you load into story mode , it loads into that save ) 💎
🔥 Side Notes : The downside of this Glitch is that, it will only allow you to upload one game save , so be confident of the cars you wanna make 🔥
-Now once you are ready ,make sure the autosave is ready then quit to the main menu ( Now load into a story mode save ) , it should load you into the auto save
🔥Another Side Notes 🔥 :
💎 For XboxSeries 💎, when you load to story mode , it should load you to the auto save automatically ( Once you’re loading in on Xbox , You wanna keep pressing and spamming down on the D-pad and down on the right stick at the same time ) to get the quit to GTA 5 alert
💎 For PS5 Version 💎: You gonna do the same thing but you will have a percentage at the bottom ( The moment you get to about 60% - 80% ) , You want to hit down on the D-pad and down on the right stick at the same time ) to get the quit to GTA 5 alert
-Now when you get the alert , you need to quickly decline it ( Once you decline the alert , You will see your story mode character standing and frozen Glitched underneath the map )
-Go ahead and pause then hit Director mode ( when you load into director mode , You will not see any characters in the casting Trailer ) , Now all you wanna do is just head to director mode with your online character
-Once you spawn in ( Set your waypoint to the Spanish ave location on the map ) , If you don’t know where it’s located , You can watch the video to know ( also have your friend in a titan of job mission head over there as well )
-Once you arrive to the Spanish Ave location , all you wanna do is spawn a car you want to give to your friend ( Now Be hovering over the car you wanna give it to your friend ) then Go ahead and join the friend who is in a titan of a job mission , also make sure that you don’t close out the Director Mode menu
-Now Accept the alert and spam on the car ( After you accept the friend alert to join the mission , Keep spamming on the car ) , Now once you are in the sky , Just close the game and restart it
( The giver will not be able to see the car, Only the receiver, also the receiver will be able to carry the car into different sessions , so it will not disappear )
( So to Receive the car , The Receiver need to do the Facility Flip Method ) , Your friend can find a new session then do the Facility Flip Method
( If you are lucky like me and have second console , No need for A friend to Help 👍 )

Hi all,
I'm in the process of trying to get on top of my long term investments and was hoping to sense check a decision please. I'm 40, and my current work pension pot is £95k. I pay in 8% and my employer tops it up with 10% on top. Until now I haven't given it much thought so I've been on the default fund which is with Aviva 'Av MyM My Future Focus Growth S4' and it has a risk level of 4, with 60% in equities.
In addition to my pension I've just set up a stocks & shares ISA and have a small amount in the VWRP fund, and I will be adding money to this every month. I wanted to invest in a global, passive fund that I can set and forget and after doing a lot of research this seemed like a decent option. I also liked the idea of the flexibility I have from having the S&S ISA in addition to my work pension, rather than putting more money into my work pension, and the research I did seemed to suggest that as a good option (once maxed out employer contribution in work pension then set up an S&S ISA next).
From my research it seems I've made a mistake leaving my pension in the default lifestyle fund which auto changes as you age, so I'm thinking of changing it. The risk level is 4 at the moment – I'm happy to have more risk and volatility, and I'm 40 so still have 20+ years before retirement. As with my ISA, I want something simple that doesn't need too much management. I was thinking that due to the above I should look at changing my pension to a 100% equities fund, something globally diverse like the HSBC FTSE All World Index C Acc. And then just keep paying into that fund, and as I approach retirement then start thinking about de-risking with bonds.
I know it's a personal decision, but I just wanted to sense check the above please as I'm still learning a lot about investing/pensions etc. Is changing my current pension pot of £94k from the 'Av MyM My Future Focus Growth S4' fund to something like the 100% equities 'HSBC FTSE All World Index C Acc' a sensible move? Or should there be concerns with that? I know it would be more volatile so could see a big drop in my fund, and I know nobody can time the market but seeing news stories online that market at all time high and could be crash/correction coming etc then would doing something like this right now not be ideal timing?
Also if I I went ahead I would have both my pension and my S&S ISA in passive, global 100% equities funds. As they have the same objective of investing for the long term I don't think this is a bad thing? I watched a Pension Craft video and he mentioned having your ISA and Pension in same fund is fine if for the same goal.
Any other thoughts welcome please!

I know mmorpgs are more fun when playing with friends/guild but a little back story from me.
I started playing mmorpgs back in the good ol' Dayz of lineage 2. My guild was broken up after a classic guild drama shit storm and I just didn't feel like joining other guilds to avoid the drama and I ended up becoming a full on solo PvPer.
All I would do was roam the farming locations and fight with anyone who was up for it. I made some great frienemies that way and got hooked into the "solo PvPer" life.
After that I joined Tera online and once again I started fighting solo PvP at open world. Again that lead to some amazing friendships where I would meet up with the same people and just Duke it out for hours!
After tera went to shit by becoming too pay to win I stopped playing mmorpg games all together and played a lot of fighting games/mobas.
Then guild wars 2 came out and I have spend more than 5000 hours just running in WvW and fighting/dueling people but after so many hours I got bored of it too..
I went to apex legends and dropped around 1k hours just quing solo into casual games but playing 1v3 is not always fun and the game got too repetitive for me.
After that I went through a period of playing all the great single player games I had missed but now I am missing that competative solo pvper life.
Anyone else with a similar story and where do you get to scratch that solo PvP itch these days?

Not sure if this guy is a Reddit user but I’m looking for insight into what his thought process could have been because I still can’t wrap my head around it. This might be kind of long because I have a tendency to ramble but I’m going to try and keep it as short as I can (yeah it’s pretty long sorry…)
For background, I’m a female in her late twenties. I met this guy online and started talking to him about two years ago. We went on one official date. I really liked him but we were both pretty busy since I was working full time while getting my masters and he was pursuing a rigorous/demanding degree, so we’d established that we weren’t really looking for a relationship but that we enjoyed each others’ company and chatting, but maybe we could entertain something casual if it ever got to that point. I think we saw each other 3 times in two months. As we were planning the fourth “date” (a movie night at his place), I suddenly got ghosted.
My ego took a bit of a hit but I recovered and ended up meeting a guy who would later become my boyfriend. A few months into my relationship, the first guy suddenly messaged me on IG, sharing a meme and making a joke about something he’d previously teased me about. I just ignored it and moved on. (Note: I had never publicized my relationship status)
Fast forward towards the end of last year, my relationship ends and, I know this isn’t something to be proud of, but I was looking for someone I knew I wouldn’t get attached to to take my mind off things, so I hit this guy up again just to have someone to message to fill in the void. We chat occasionally but the conversation is fairly sparse, and though I THINK he was flirting, he would also redirect the convo every time I flirted back. We attempt to get dinner a few times, but he kept cancelling and then saying I should just come over instead. At this point we hadn’t seen each other for over a year. While I wasn’t opposed to the idea of hooking up, I wanted to either go for food/an activity beforehand, OR have him directly come out and say that he was just looking to bang, not bail then switch on me. Honestly, at this point I was under the impression that we were just friendly and there was nothing more.
Anyways, come February, I land a job that moves me a few hours away. I posted a story at some point after the move that he responds to and we get to chatting again, and he makes a comment about seeing my bed in my new apartment and I joke about stranger danger since we’re practically just pen pals. He asks if he just got friend zoned, and I, thinking he was making a joke, asked him if this was new news. The following conversation was him saying that he always thought that we’d had something and he only backed off when we first met because I said I wasn’t looking for a relationship.
At this point, I’m really confused. For one, he was actually the one who said he was too busy to date when we had the initial conversation, before he ghosted me. Two, we hadn’t seen each other in a year and exchanged a dozen messages every few weeks. I don’t know about anyone else, but that’s not the frequency at which I speak to anyone I’m romantically interested in. I admit to him that I was interested when we’d first met, but since we could never actually meet up and only spoke sparsely, I stopped thinking in that direction. He proceeds to get a bit passive aggressive so I stop responding and I’m just sitting there dazed and confused (and also hungover lol).
I told my friend about it and she said it sounds like a bruised ego since he’s tall, fairly attractive, and is in a prestigious field, but I still cant wrap my head around it. I feel like if he was interested, he could have said something outright and we could’ve readjusted to our situation, but there was nothing? We haven’t spoken since but can someone shed some light on what the potential thought process might be??
