So there's 3 free map packs, and then there's RAAM's Shadow and Horde Command Pack.
Buying both of these separately would cost a little more than buying the Season Pass, but I don't see the 'in game store' where I'd use the pass to download the content. I don't want it to be bugged and have to buy twice with it being an old game.
Can anyone tell me if the SP is reliable or whether to play it safe and buy the other stuff seperately, it's not a big difference in price but enough for a couple avatar items. Thanks!

I am 14, and as a kid, in this day and age, one usually has nothing to do. I go to the gym about 4 times a week, but god, since my rest days are on the weekends (gym is closed on Friday) I genuinely have nothing to do. Seriously, all I do besides working out is just rot in my bed with a phone in my hand, or give in to my sexual desires (which I despise, very much). I don’t like living like this, I’ve always wanted to get a job since that gives meaning into someone’s life, but no, since I am just a child, I am stuck in school which doesn’t even teach us anything useful unfortunately. However, I am not complaining, for school is the only social activity I get nowadays. But weekends exist, and with weekends come misfortune. On the weekends I typically just stay at home all day doing absolutely nothing but again, just scroll endlessly on my phone which I hate very much. I cannot go outside alone due to my parents’ wishes, plus, I live in an Arabic country. so no nature or grass anywhere here… and to top it all off, I’m in a place with just buildings and roads… I genuinely just want something meaningful man, when I’m back from school, on a rest day atleast, I’m alone. Parents are working, siblings are at college, and here I am. At home, with genuinely nothing to do, and it drives me insane. And on the weekends (when my family is actually at home) my sisters just bond together, they wouldn’t want me to be there since we share completely different interests, and they are much older than I am (19 and 23). My father is a hard working man no doubt, but on the weekends he just plays video games. its pretty hard to talk to a man when he’s just on the screen, so I can’t exactly bond much like that. My mother is usually in her room, talking to people over the phone, or just on social media. My family has given into the device-lifestyle hard, and the truth is, I just want to go outside more, spend time with my family and the ones I love, I don’t have a girlfriend or any female friends in general (I am in an all-male school, my gym is also full of men and I don’t go outside enough to find women anywhere else). I have friends, a good amount in fact, but outside of school I am a lone man. I only go out with my friends every couple of weeks (if you exclude the gym with me and my friend). I just want a real hobby, something meaningful I can do all day instead of be a loser indoors with no purpose. They say your teenage years are the best in your life, but are they? I’d really just prefer to a grown man, with a job, responsibilities, meaningful futures, a partner, children, and a home surrounded in nature… but what do I know? I am just a kid after all. I am sorry for this long post, but please help me out in the comments in any way possible.

I started playing FO4 about a month ago. The way some people talk about it like it's some sort of Bethesda atrocity (always comparing it with NV like that game is the second coming of Christ) made me constantly not want to try out the game, especially since I played Starfield before FO4 so I thought that if it gets any worse than that it would be a waste of time. But holy s**t am I having a lot of fun!
I love the world, the exploration, the followers, the radio, all the different weapons and the power armors, the side quests and the lore, the overall wasteland aesthetic and the scrappy looking gear and how the game doesn't take itself too seriously. Settlement building is super addicting and scrounging for junk to scrap and jury rig all sorts of cool mods for my guns is weirdly entertaining too.
I honestly don't know what I expected when I got the game but I didn't think I'd still be here a month later, still not having found Vergil because I just can't stop exploring and doing random things. FO4 gives me that nice feeling I had back in 2011 with Skyrim, exploring new things and finding something at least moderately interesting in every cave and building. I'm really happy I gave it a try!

Hello Darkest Dungeon Community,
I've played the game on and off again since release however I've never really gotten into a deep run. However now for whatever reason things have changed and I'm looking to go the distance. With that I have a few questions I am seeking advice on. While I know there is a wealth of info on this sub and reddit (thank you ShuffleFM) I figured I'd put it out there to you. To clarify I'm currently playing vanilla with no dlc enabled. Thank you all in advance.
  1. Roster Management!! What is the general wisdom on how to best manage a roster. Do you 'preplan' your teams and then fill your roster with those classes? Do you simply fill it out with one of each hero? This is a spot I find super interesting but don't have a clear idea of how to do it successfully.
  2. When do you dismiss a hero? My current run is on week 17. I've lost a few heroes to death but now that I've got some on level 3 or beyond some a very very messed up with negative quirks and stress. Is it worth it to heal/treat them or simply grab a new one of the same class and level them again? What's the wisdom here?
  3. What do you look for in selecting missions? I know I've read go for trinkets (speed and accuracy being king) but what if those don't appear or unavailable? Do you simply go for gold/resources? How do you select your missions?
  4. Any other tips or comments to a player looking to invest some time into the game that would help the early/mid game would be appreciated.

2024.05.21 17:29 Kakapac Playing everything on extreme difficulty made me realize how many mechanics this game has

After the update I started a new character and decided to go in all hardcore and set every difficulty option to its max and oh boy did I get destroyed. Simply running in like a madman gunning all over the place is an easy way to get yourself killed, I do no damage and every single enemy hits like a truck even the wimpy grendel makes me bleed to death now, but struggle breeds progress.
I started experimenting with the other skills because for every gunfight I knew I had to come prepared it was only then I realized just how many options the game actually gives you.
For the first time I started using EM weapons and realized how helpful they are, a sneak critical is almost guaranteed to stun and its pretty important to thin the numbers out because if those spacers decide to gang up on you, you're probably dead. I then tried instigation to make them fight each other and you can take advantage of the chaos that follows.
Demolitions is useful now, cryo mines are a lifesaver, I had to invest in scavenging to loot every single area I find just to get more mines.
Starborn powers are almost mandatory now, before I sometimes forgot I had them but because you can die so easily now, every single tool you have must be used, I like gravity well and frisbeeing land mines into it, but almost every single power is useful now,
Consumables that I ignored before are now some of the most helpful items. For the first time I'm using reconstim because the AI is a lot more perceptive than before. Aid items like bandages are needed now because almost every single fight you'll be coming out bleeding and now if you don't treat your injuries they get worse.
Planets feel dangerous now as environmental damage is now so aggressive. This is probably one system I hope the kinda change a bit though. All spacesuits seem to have the same timer before you start taking environmental damage, the timer does seem to change with whatever conditions the planet has like the sandstorms, freezing rain etc. and environmental protection slows the buildup of the orange bar but even with your protection maxed out at 85 its still hardly any time to explore especially on extreme environment planets, maybe land vehicles might change that but I'm not to fond of how this system works now. I'd rather have environmental protection increase the timer on your spacesuit or maybe add an item that heals your environmental damage.
But these new difficulty options really changed the way I played and made me really appreciate just how many options the game gives you.

I really liked the idea of alternative outfits for the cast in The Quarry. The classic horror movie visual filters also were pretty cool.
Wonder if Supermassive will use this idea in the future DPA games. Would be nice tô unlock different clothes and visual filters by complete objectives in the game like find all clues or save/kill everyone, this would improve and instigate the replay.
But if they really do this in the future I really expect that these things can be unlocked for free ( and not paying like in The Quarry...)

So been getting into the genre a bit again lately and I remembered this game I played once on next fest and I'd like to give it another go, but can't find it. I think it's been released, but not 100%. So action-roguelike (with I think a circus theme) and you play as a magician like I said in the post. Story setup you're a magician who is narratively really good and your rival traps you into magical something and you have to get out. A lot of style and flash (and I mean that as a positive). Why can’t we play test a game mode where you can ONLY bring in gear that has been either looted in a raid, or bought off a merchant?
This will allow the following:
Completing quests and buying gear off merchants because far more relevant.
Way more harder to get BIS, making fights and gameplay feel better.
Gives people more purpose to find gear in raids and escape.
It would be a major change to many, but finding and selling gear to other players appears to be the major issue with Gear based MM and RMT.
Would also force you back into normals when you don’t have any gear to find more. Thus making your squire equips more important.
Let’s have a healthy discussion on if you would try this, or what the benefits are allowing the buying and trading of gear.

I have to say, I’ve been the first to moan at times with this game. It’s driven me mad since for a while. BUT, since the end of the event, I’ve rediscovered my love for this game. I’m a bog standard 4 star Xbox player with a 1.07kda and I’ve found money hard to come by until I changed tactics, and boy am I loving it!! (Including the one boss game play)
Basically free hunters and free weapons. It’s lead to me having to change my game play completely and I’m loving the variety it’s bringing. My kda is increasing as a result, my money is going up and my overall enjoyment has gone through the roof!
Anyway that’s enough positivity for one post, I get the group ain’t used to that!!!

Signalis, a game not about horror, not about politics, not about any of those. It's a story about love, love that lasts lifetimes. Love that has sacrifices with implications that impact everything that exists.
It's the story I wish I had, a love that lasts forever, be it in death, life or a loop that never ends. Love so strong it alters the universe, moulding it relentlessly for the act of fulfilling a promise. A promise about staying in each others hearts, a promise about saving each other from any and all misery, a promise about selflessness found in selfishness.
Two lovers, a woman who has felt nothing but pain, seeking an escape from what is essentially hell encapsulated in a personal format of life. She signs off her life to a program about propaganda that has no real purpose nor any hope of returning. Then an android, a replica of a person who is merely programmed to be of no use than to serve as the labour force of a nation that has no interest in anything other than its own measured reach of power. Forced to be alone and worked tirelessly to avoid causing "Behavioural instabilities" in their programming that results from the buried past memories of the gestalts they were based upon.
A love that existed before the two had, a love so strong. Their past lives also intertwined together in love, surely meant to be forever. In this life, the sickness caused by the very escape from the torture she endures, she stows herself away in a tomb that keeps her living and breathing, whether she wants it or not. A replica never meant to have such experiences nor feelings, heartbroken and scared, searches for her love.
The sick woman does everything in her power to guide her lover to her, one way or another. Bending reality as a whole is merely a simple task for her, but these actions have implications. The remaining replica's rot, infected with a disease that has no end, hunting everyone and everything they see. Her lover lived repetitions of this happening over and over, giving it her all for her love's wishes.
Tens, if not hundreds of cycles repeated over and over again, all in the search of her lover to fulfill her promise, to be with her and to give her what she oh-so desperately needs. Death and repetition plaguing her, a mere replica searching everywhere and everything to give her one true love what she needs, regardless of how painful and selfish it is to her.
Selfish; altering the world's reality by looping it, causing death, suffering and more. All this to fulfill what she needs her lover to do for her? Barely conscious and alive, her willpower resonates with all.
Selflessness; killing, traveling, surviving and living through hundreds of cycles for the sole purpose of keeping a promise. The sole purpose of staying together, be it in death, life or and endless loop. Solitude and suffering not even a small barrier to the power of love this non-human inorganic entiry has. Life and its willingness to preserve grief, grief being the last thread that holds anyone from being forgotten.
Grief; Not only the thread between someone and where they are, but also an example of how troubled minds have strong reactions, direct confrontations of it or even escaping from it. If we hold onto grief, we will never move anywhere. Just like how time is looped, trapping everyone and everything, grief is the simple yet convoluted answer behind this. Only way to end this loop being to rationally go ahead with your actions in a manner that has a proper impact to one's cause to overcome.
Just like the elevator shaft we fall through, we can only have our deserved end if we work for it. This life might've not had anything to help us, but in the end, we find comfort in our surroundings, one way or another. Be it a person, hobbies or even your location. We have a comfort for us, in us, only for us.

Okay, let me explain that title haha!
I'm working on a VN idea that is still very much in its early stages of development. The basic premise is that you, the player, play as a cynical-about-love protagonist who tries an otome game (the kind that's full of poorly written tropes), and then wakes up in that game the next day. To try to find her way out and back into the real world, she decides she will try "playing through" the game, and of course, you as the MC can choose from 3–5 love interests to romance along the way.
It's hard to explain without going too into the details, but the idea is that each character will grow beyond their tropes throughout the game. As a result, the tone of it is meant to be a bit absurd, a bit cheesy and also a bit dark.
However, the potential endings I've come up with are... I couldn't classify them as straight up happy endings. In my opinion, they make narrative sense, but I also know people play otome games for happiness lol.
So I wanted to ask you all: would semi-dark endings make you feel like that journey was pointless, or would you be okay with those kinds of endings as long as it narratively makes sense?
I'm skimping on details because it's very WIP right now, so I hope I've explained the concept clear enough! Thanks 💕
