First time travelers to Japan. There will be 5 of us, 3 adults, one college student, 1 preteen.
I've kept our schedule fairly loose. We only have a couple of reservations (Team Borderless and hiking Fushimi Inari).
I haven't purchased any shinkansen tickets. Figured based on everyones comments we will be safe getting them once we arrive.
No restaurant reservations. Sounds like they really aren't needed. We don't plan to do anything very fancy and I expect to wait in lines. Konbini for most breakfasts.
I've created several maps based on areas with areas of interests, landmarks, shopping, restaurants and coffee.
I'd love feedback. It's really hard to gauge how much we will cover in a day. I'd guess the weekends will be more slammed than weekdays so those days may cover less.

• Plan to keep breakfasts simple throughout the trip. Mainly konbini and local coffee shops.
• Take train to Harajuku station early morning and visit Meiji Jingu Shrine, Yoyogi park. Explore Harajuku, Takeshita Street, Cat Street, etc… slowly making our way towards Shibuya. Once in Shibuya, explore and shop. Hoping this will be the entire day, ending close to the airbnb.

Not sure whether this area needs an entire day dedicated to it. I just didn’t want to kill us the first day and be close to our airbnb in case we are not fully recovered from all the flying.

My mom thinks she is the most innocent creature in the world, and my dad is a narcissist who I don't talk to much. They got separated, and my dad got custody of my sister and me. He didn't want to raise us, but my uncle and grandpa made him take us home. He didn't really raise us; my uncle and aunt did. My grandpa, sister, uncle, and I all live in the same house, which is common in Southeast Asia.
Let's talk about my mom, Susan. She cheated on my dad, Jake, with her friend. When Jake found out, he begged Susan not to leave him. He even threatened to harm himself and made us beg her to stay too. We didn’t say anything, so he threatened to kick us out of school and make us work as waiters. He said mean things about us, claiming we weren’t his kids, and he cried and screamed at all of us (my grandpa, uncle, aunt, sister, and me). My uncle sent him to therapy every week, but I think he was faking it. He cried without shedding a single tear, more like a child begging for candy.
This all started during summer break and continued when school resumed. I couldn’t focus on my studies and failed my exams. I was usually smart, so my teacher asked if something had happened. I lied and said everything was okay.
After the divorce, Susan took us to stay temporarily with her sister and nephew. Her sister accused us of being happy that our parents' marriage broke up, asking if we thought we could live happily while Susan suffered. Surprisingly, I didn't care because I didn't love them; they weren't good parents. They were abusive, but I didn't say anything and just listened to her lecture.
Susan acted like the victim, pretending to be a sweet, innocent girl. Her sister lectured us about how our parents' divorce would lead to us living on the streets and begging for money.
We went to court, and Jake won custody. He said we couldn't meet Susan anymore, and I didn't care. After a month or two of not seeing us, Susan connected with us on social media, saying she missed us and was lonely. We felt sad and visited her every month. She seemed nice, and we thought she had changed. But when we got busy and didn't visit for a month, she told her relatives we weren’t talking to her. We sometimes video call her when no one is home and sneak out once a month to see her.
Today, my uncle from Susan's side messaged my sister, saying we should talk to our mom. I don’t know how many relatives she has told that we aren’t talking to her. Now, I think I should block her on social media and never go to her and her boyfriend’s home again.
So, AITA for not visiting my mom often after my parents' divorce?

I see a lot of comments on people who struggle with classic and to a lesser extent endless. Just wanted to provide a few tips for those who haven't done much competitive pokemon. There are a lot of basic tips that I see out there, but here are some I haven't seen as much so I figured I'd share.
For classic: For rival: Use early rival fights to work on predictions. For example, when running fuecoco the rival would swap to bombadier. This happened in early rival fights and happened also on level 195. You can take these swaps to predict when your opponent will want to stay in and to what they will swap to. This ties into my next tip....
Don't forget about status moves, especially for rival fights. Status moves include buffs like bulk up, minimize, and curses like baby-doll eyes and sand attack. Because of lum berry, if you are able to do things like fire off eerie impulses/charms/sand attacks and then spam t-wave or sleep then find a mon you can swap into without the opponent changing, then you can easily get +6spatk/+6spdf or +6atk/+6def with calm mind/bulk up on a sweeper and just click through everything the opponent has.
Likewise for eternatus. It doesn't have lum berry. Before the fight, move all of your lum berries to a shit pokemon that you'll use last. Eternatus resets all of its stat changes and full-restore's its status condition when you trigger its stage 2. This doesn't change your pokemon's stats. Nerf it to the ground with like an electrode with eerie impulse and t-wave and then set up on its face with a clam mind psychic pokemon. After you get your second pokemon in, you can also have it status the eternatus and it will never recover from that status as long as you don't give it a lum berry. Moves like roost/recover go a long way to helping.
If you're having trouble with a rival, pick up a rhyperior. They are pretty common. They do really well into both eternatus and rayquaza. Also, note your rivals starter pokemon. If its fire, get a water type, etc. And then get a buff move that you can use because the rival will always swap t1. Just remember to change to the right starter mon on the round prior to the rival fight (ex. round 144 or 94.)
If you struggle with early rounds, it sounds obvious but try throwing pokeballs. You can catch problematic pokemon with a great/ultra ball when the opposing pokemon is at 100% hp up through most of the pre-50 levels if you're lucky, and a little chip/status goes a long way. It also helps to not get too attached to certain pokemon because replacing the underleveled ones with new ones as you grind up is a great way to not have trash if your main goes down.
Meowth + gholdengo generate money with payday/make it rain and technician meowth goes a long way through the early game but falls off. Replace it at some point. Remember to cycle fakeouts by saccing trash mons if you need to. Also baby-doll eyes on zigzagoon has +1 priority if you are vs a tough physical attacker early and sand attack can go a long way vs tough mons.
Don't forget that if you have already opened an egg version of one of the mons you find in the end, you can catch multiple copies of that mon.
For endless: it's harder to get exp - cycle your trash mons out for new ones regularly with pokeballs, keeping only your main and maybe a secondary that you can try to keep up with rare candies and such.
remember passives. Squirtle has a sturdy passive and with mega blastoise for later, can be fused to get a broken ability/even better stats and be a solid late game carry. My biggest struggle has been with priority moves that hit and status before I move. This was fixed because I remembered about the following abilities: Dazzling/queenly majesty/armor tail These are broken passives and can be found on nidoqueen, crygonal, misdreavous, jinx, farigaraf, and most importantly fluttermane. If you haven't hit a fluttermane, no problem, use one of the others, but what's best is that the passive comes from the first mon and the ability comes from the second. Even though all of the above mon's abilities are subpar and even protosynthesis sucks, you can replace the trash ability with fusing with your legendary of choice. My current setup is fluttermane + calyrex shadow rider for ghost/fairy coverage + leech seed but you can replace calyrex for anything decent. If you can unlock endless, then you can beat classic and get a shit ton of eggs so I believe in y'all to find something solid.
If you want to do shedinja BS, go for dark/ghost fusion rather than normal/ghost. Each are both weak to 1 type (fairy and dark respectively) but there are no real fairy type priority moves vs sucker punch is everywhere. Some solid fusion choices are weavile and kingambit. Another great choice is mega houndoom. While you get a very mid spatk stat (shedinja's is only 30 but houndoom's is a whopping 140 for an averaged 85), you super pump your mon anyways and special has WAY more spread moves than physical with heat wave, snarl, and then your choice of coverage moves.
Speaking of spread moves, if you ever stop being able to one shot everything or start struggling but have a solid mon with a good spread move, then start refreshing shops for lures. This will only really take place in the 1000s so you should have millions/billions+ money and rerolling shouldn't be an issue for max/super lures. You get double shiny odds and the rounds are easier. You can use a backup mon to your main with rockslide (or thief)/kings rock/multihit/quick claw to still steal items and flinch mons that endure your first hit. In one of my runs, my calyrex shadow rider wasn't always one-shotting dark type pokemon. When you have enough lures going, the bosses have less health and this no longer became a problem.
Lastly, keep an eye out for mons that are decently fast and can use Thief (to a lesser extent, covet) and look for lucky eggs/type boosting items like fairy featheblack glasses/etc. Use thief! Steal everything early. Lucky eggs and especially golden eggs go a LONG way to keeping your mons up in levels and having them be relevant while you super boost one mon with rare candies.
Hopefully at least one of these things helped.

I’ve been struggling with this disorder since before I was even a teenager.
I’m nearing my 30s,
I. Can’t. Take this. Anymore.
I’ve done literally everything I can.
I’ve tried every diet when I was young, then every lifestyle change that was realistic for me. I became vegan for a year and a half and lost 80 pounds, gained it back, lost some again, gained back. And the past few years has been me constantly losing 10-30 pounds and gaining it back. I’m not vegan anymore, and don’t want to be. And I can’t muster up the energy to do it again anyway. But it wasn’t about the vegan food, it was my commitment and will power.
Now it’s worse. My eating disorder has seemingly gotten worse in some ways and better in others.
A few months ago I got a gym membership and was also reading “brain over binge” and my eating had never been more balanced in my life. No calorie counting (which I still believe is helpful, but I was happy I didn’t feel like I needed to do it) no restricting every single thing I ate, no off limit anything. Just adding healthier foods, eating adequately, and working out.
But then I got a cold, I was sick for two weeks and couldn’t go to the gym. Which spiraled me into eating fast food too often, gaining a ton of weight quickly, and giving up entirely.
Then I gained so much weight and kept trying to control it that I got so sick of myself because I binged an entire bag of Doritos and a whole box of donuts, for the first time in 12 years I actually chose to restrict myself entirely and only eat foods that helped my eating disorder and physical and mental illnesses.
5 days later, I started eating like shit again, shocker. And it’s been a few more days, and I’ve binged again now.
I CANT FUCKING TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!! I’m sick to death of having no control over myself. I’m sick to death of the weight, the side effects of the food, spending any money I ever have on this. I spent 63 dollars in the past not even 24 hours on take out. I want to die. I give up.
Edit: also I ordered myself two small pizzas, a slurpy, donuts and candy all in the same night and when a family member came home I ate the food that was offered to me. Which was mozzarella sticks, chips, and a pretzel. Also cake and cookies. Which I ate some of each. I was already so full.
The other day when I binged and decided to restrict, it was also because the amount of food physically made my spine ache and pain medicine wouldn’t even take it away.
The food was pressing up against my FUCKING SPINE. I fucking hate myself and this disorder.

I say "apparently" because... well... you'll see.
This happened decades ago now, back in primary school. I only remembered it because I was recently catching up with old friends from back then, and we got to laughing over old stories and then someone mentioned, "The wildest was when you organised that whole protest against our teacher."
"The time I did what?"
The consensus was I did, indeed, organise the entire class to rebel against our teacher that resulted in her being deposed and our class getting a "substitute" for the rest of the year. I almost fell out of my chair hearing this story from their mouths. It wasn't that I didn't remember it, of course I did--that year was awful. It was just that it existed very differently in my memory.
Two important pieces of background knowledge to understand here:

1. I went to a very very small, very very rural school. How small? Each classroom was composed of the entire year level, and the largest had at most 30 kids in them. My class/year level was on the smallest in the entire school, with a piddling 14 kids in it altogether. While we still had our cliques and factions, our small size caused our class to be very tight knit and protective of each other. How rural? The school building itself was incredibly small, but one thing we were not short on was gigantic empty fields surrounding us on all sides. Great for sports, great for (it turns out) student protests.
2. I was, at the time, undiagnosed autistic. I mean I still am autistic, I'm just formally diagnosed now. But back then I was just seen as being a very quirky kid. One of the ways this quirkiness manifested was that I really had trouble adapting to the rules and structure of grade school and how it differed from what I was used to. At home if I wanted to pee, I just went to the toilet. Now I have to put my hand up? Now I have to ask permission to piss? Then I went home and put my hand up to ask my mom for permission to pee and she told me I didn't need to! Madness! Chaos! I don't care what the rules are, please just be consistent!

But one of the main parts of my brain and the way it works is that sometimes my brain, separate from my will, would just make a decision about a course of action and I would very calmly commit to it come hell or high water. Like, it is vitally important that I stay true to this course of action. I can't explain it. It's like I set a rule for myself and if something disrupts that, I just shut down and stop functioning.
So when the school said, "Okay, when this bell rings during recess/lunch, that means you have to leave the playground and go back to class", I was a confused child already struggling with all these completely nonsensical limitations and guidelines imposed on me. So when that bell rang, I got that calm little voice in my head that said, "Hmm, no, I'm good out here actually. I don't think I will go back into class." So I would just continue to sit out on the playground, playing with my plastic spider toys or sitting on the swing. Teachers would realise what was going on and come out to get me and tell me I have to go back to class, and I would just very calmly hear them out and then smile at them and politely as possible tell them, "No thank you, I want to stay out here."
They really didn't know what to do with me. I wasn't getting upset, I wasn't throwing a tantrum, I wasn't yelling, I wasn't being rude in any way. I was incredibly docile and would let them explain things to me with endless patience and then just politely refute them and go back to what I was doing, like this was just a very normal and reasonable negotiation between two equal parties. I have memories of sitting on the swing while three very confused and flustered adult staff huddled around me trying to bribe me with candy to go back to class. It would take a whole lesson block to lure me back to the classroom, and then at lunch the whole thing would start over again. It took me three years at school to finally accept the status quo thanks to a religious nutter I got for a teacher, and finally went back to class when the bell rang (was never happy about it though).
I eventually settled into school life. Excelled at subjects I liked, at least passed subjects I didn't, followed the rules, was seen as intelligent and obedient and was often liked by my teachers. Until my final year, when we got the teacher I can only rudely monniker Mrs Bigmouth.
Mrs Bigmouth should not have been a teacher. She had a trigger temper and would explode into long, verbally abusive tirades against us if we ever did anything she felt was disrespectful behaviour. What was disrespectful behaviour? Damned if I know. It changed day by day, depending on mood. You could disrespect her to her face one day and she'd laugh and say you have such razor wit, and politely ask a question the next and she'd scream at you for ten nonstop minutes then give you a week of DT for talking back. The absolute peak moment of her boiling temper came when she threw a dictionary at a girl's head because she was whispering to me in class. When I tell you it missed her by half an inch...
But believe it or not, this wasn't what made her such an awful teacher. It was so hard to get teachers at rural schools back then, there was almost nothing you could do to get fired, so we had experience with teachers with nightmare tempers. What made her such an issue was her big mouth. She used us, her trapped audience, as free therapy. She would infodump, traumadump, about her very personal, very private life to us. All day. She'd be two words into a spelling list and launch into an extended story session about her marital issues with her husband. We'd be heads down doing fractions and, unprompted, she'd declare to the class that her adult daughter no longer talks to her and then diatribe to us about it until the bell rang. She had money issues, a contentious relationship with her parents, her marriage was on the rocks. She once pulled me aside after school and spoke with me, at length, about how she was thinking of having another child to try to repair her marriage. I was like, okay lady, I'm 11, about to miss my bus, and my house is a 4 hour walk on foot from here.
We weren't learning. We'd hadn't had a complete lesson since the first week of the school year. We were behind on the cirriculum and frustrated. One kid had brought a stopwatch into school and would time lessons vs her monologues and kept detailed lists, and we would come to school each morning and do betting pools on them. What subject would she interrupt, what would she talk about, and how long would it go.
But all that still wasn't the breaking point if you can believe it. No! Still not! The problem was it wasn't just her own private life she couldn't keep her mouth shut about. It was everyone else's. Because parents would make the reasonable assumption that she should be told things as our class teacher that would be important to know, and that she would understand these things were said in confidence. Instead she would veer randomly off in the middle of talking to us about her horrible weekend to let us know whatever private or traumatic thing was going on in a classmate's life that she had been made aware of. That was awful. That was what made that year hell. It wasn't even about when my secrets were shared with the entire class against my consent. It was watching the faces of my small, lovely, supportive class of 11 year old children go pale and scrunch up with held-back tears as things they never wanted to share were announced like morning news. God we hated her.
Then one day that voice came. The one I hadn't heard in years. The bell ring to go back into class and that voice said, "But I don't want to be in that classroom. I'm not even being taught there." So I just... didn't. I didn't go back to class. I just sat in the playground in a daze eating grass (don't eat grass, it's not good for your teeth). Despite how small my class was, I don't think Mrs Bigmouth even noticed I wasn't there. Others did though. Come lunch and everyone came out, my friends asked me where I was and I said, "Oh, I didn't go back to class."
"Why didn't you go back to class?"
"Why would I go back to class?"
Lightbulb moment for my schoolmates. Yeah, why would they go back to class? What was the point? From a practical standpoint, they weren't learning. From an emotional standpoint, it was horrible to be there. A friend who had had her family's dirty laundry aired to the entire class just last week, things even she didn't know because her parents tried to keep it from her, asked if she could sit with me rather than go back to class. I just stared at her, vacant and confused.
"Sure? I mean, I'm just eating grass though."
Over the next few days, two kids turned into four, turned into ten, turned into the whole class. The whole class was doing a sit-out protest on the field rather than go back to class. Of course Mrs Bigmouth tried to do something about it. She'd come out, screaming at us and threatening us with DT and internal suspension, but six months of that behaviour had totally vaccinated us against her. I'd become the de facto leader and spokesperson of the protest by merit of being the first to sit out and also because I was well known to not give a shit (autistic brain: I actually just frequently had trouble reading and reacting with the correct social behaviour but it gave me a cool and aloof bad boy mystique I guess). I gave her the exact same treatment from back in grade one. I would let her scream, let her holler, let her threaten, let her spittle rain down on me, and then I would give her a sweet and innocent smile and nod in acknowledgement and say, "No thank you, we're going to remain out here." And thirteen pairs of eyes would stare at her in total silence. No one, not even the most gobbermouthed little shite in the class, would volunteer a word. The unspoken agreement was all negotiations were my responsibility.
The thing about angry people is that they feed off conflict. They get you angry so they can respond with even more anger and it nourishes them. She had no absolutely no plan of action on how to deal with me patiently hearing her out then refuting her in the gentlest of terms.
Another thing that ended up helping down the line is that we made an attempt to conduct our own classes. I mean, they sucked and we didn't learn much because we were kids with no supervision, but it was really cute in retrospect. We'd have groups of people assigned to subjects, with some people bringing in words they found in a dictionary for spelling lists and others bringing in old 6th grade homework from older siblings. The heart was there and it served a purpose, if not educational.
"Okay, but how did no one else notice this was happening? Surely people would notice 14 kids sitting on the lawn, not in class?"
Rural school. Big. Empty. Fields. Even screaming at us, the most other classrooms would hear would be muffled voices, and everyone was used to hearing her yelling at us or taking us out onto the field abruptly to make us do laps as group punishment. Plus the way the school buildings were arranged was that it was actually all in one straight line of adjacent rooms, and ours happened to be at the very end of the building. No windows faced the field we all sat in except that of our own classroom. It was just a very lucky arrangement of coincidences and preconceived notions, at least for a couple weeks. I couldn't tell you the exact number, this was so long ago and as a kid I definitely had a more stretched idea of time. Minutes felt like hours, especially during that year. But there was definitely at least two weekends that passed by since the "sit-out protest" started.
Eventually someone cottoned on to what was happening, or maybe Mrs Bigmouth humbled herself and finally confessed to her boss that she had lost control of a bunch of 11-year-olds, so we were called into the principal's office to sort this out. As the representative of our class, I was of course chosen to attend the meeting, flanked by the girl who'd had the dictionary thrown at her head and my friend who was the first to sit out with me. Since I understood that this meeting was one where we were probably going to be yelled at for doing the wrong thing, a thing I had ample experience of, I felt like the easiest way to mitigate things (especially since I felt guilty for being the instigator) was to explain in a very rational and logical way the series of events that led up to our bad behaviour. As well, for my entire life my mother had always taught me that it was no good complaining about things unless you were also willing to think of solutions. "I'm hungry!" - "Well, what's a solution to that problem?" - "Uh, make myself a sandwich?" - "Great! Let's do that together!"
So what did I do? Of course, to make things as clean and concise as possible, I interviewed my class one by one to hear each individual story of why they didn't feel comfortable going to class anymore, itemised them under categories (Verbal Aggression; Interruptions of Lessons; Oversharing Student Life) for easier discussion because my little quirky brain loved itemising things, and then as a kind of olive branch came up with solutions (we wanted to finish lessons unhindered, we wanted our personal privacy to be respected, we wanted to be able to catch our bus on time rather than being held back with unfair DT or long "chats"). So many things sort of came together in this beautiful, wholly accidental way. We had months of records of timed rants and monologues, noted down to the millisecond thanks to that kid's stopwatch. We had records of us trying to teach ourselves during the protests, showing this wasn't us just not wanting to go to class but due to us feeling as though we did not have a class to go to. We got the rest of the week off school. That weekend, every parent of every student came to a meeting between them, Mrs Bigmouth, and the principal. Stories were swapped. I don't know what went down, but when my mother came home she just told me that Mrs Bigmouth would not be our problem for the rest of the school year, and more importantly, that she was incredibly proud of me and that I did the right thing. Rarely in my childhood had my inability to integrate into normal society led me to doing the right thing, so I just remember crying and hugging and feeling vindicated about, I don't know, just existing or something.
So yeah. From the outside perspective here is what it looked like: I, the ringleader with a history of dismissing school rules, organised a sit-out strike amongst my class. I kept the protest peaceful and non-disruptive to other classes. When negotiations with the principal were finally arranged, as the representative I compiled a clear list of greivances, with evidence, and a list of reasonable demands. I mean, holy crap, yes, yes I clearly organised a student protest.
The actual results of it are mixed. We got a revolving door of substitute teachers of varying quality for the rest of the school year, occasionally being bundled into other classrooms entirely when they couldn't find someone. It wasn't a great learning environment and we continued to struggle a lot, but it was better than before. Mrs Bigmouth was not actually fired but put on leave for the rest of the school year, then returned and was put in charge of a different year level (which happened to be the class of the younger sister of a guy in my class: according to him, she was quiet as a church mouse that entire year so I hope at least she learned her lesson, or at least finally got divorced and went to actual therapy). The entire ordeal caused our already small and close class to become really really supportive and like family to each other and we all remain in touch until this day. And we became fierce about standing up for ourselves.
I kind of learned to parse the difference between when it was appropriate to go along with set societal rules even if I don't understand them, and when those rules were just straight up unreasonable and nobody should be required to follow them. I did, years alter, lead an actual (very small) strike at work but intentionally that time. My mother was proud of me then too. :)

Hi there, so I have quit sugar several times, the last time was when I did the Whole 30 from nov 2022 to April 2023. I noticed that I started to get too thin and was losing muscle. I began watching YT videos on strength training and body building content where they strongly advocate eating sugars (often process sugars like cereal) post work out to "get bigger" and replenish your glycogen stores post workout. This led me down a dark path with sugar and by October 2023 I was back to overeating sugar. I steadily binged on sugar from Oct 2023 to current, with today being day two of no added sugar. I would eat chocolate candies at the office, eat several granola bars (fig bars), then stopped at the grocery store and get pastries for dinner. I stopped eating most fruits, veg, and protein and would just eat sugar all day. I know how bad this is.
I have a history of alcoholism and I quit drinking in 2018 when I found out I was accepted into Master's program and was getting my life together. What currently prevents me from drinking is knowing that if I pick up the bottle, I would lose everything. I wouldn't be able to work and support myself and my drinking would absolutely culminate in my losing my license and everything I have worked so hard for. I know this mentality doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me, I follow the "only one drop" recovery model and yes I know some view this as a self fulfilling prophecy, however it works for me. With sugar, it's doesn't have the same gravity and it can be easy to justify. If I pick up a hersey's kiss it likely won't culminate in me losing everything, therefore I need help thinking of what I have to lose if I relapse on sugar. I think about being so grumpy and depressed that it's hard to function and I could eventually start missing work, I think of diabetes, heart disease, losing limbs, I think of how I isolate when I feel self conscious, fat and bloated, I think of money wasted on sugar, how sick and sad I feel after sugar, but I feel like I am missing something. What are your whys for quitting and sustaining your sobriety? Is there something I am missing?

They promoted the website 1523.it, which runs an emergency phone number 1523 for men who are victims of violence and stalking.
So far so good right? this is what feminists always said we should do, run our own campaigns with no reference to their own just trying to help men in need, right? yeah, no.

These are senators, presidents of national associations, people with gigantic budgets, hundreds of employees, thousands of volunteers under them. They have money, connections, academic positions, political power. They are the mainstream of mainstream feminism and this is how they react to a campaign to help men who are victims of violence. Not even violence by women specifically, the number is totally open to men who are victimised by anyone.

I had been skinny my whole life, but always saw myself as fat, overweight, not pretty enough.
But I'm 32, 18 months postpartum and I'm at my heaviest. Now I'm looking for a new challenge… not immediately but eventually the end goal is to make this a living: * There's no joy for me anymore in resolving similar issues in new digital products over and over again * I was entrepreneuring with my own digital products for a while, even sold one company for a decent sum of money * I love playing games as much as working out concepts, mechanics to play or stories to dive in
I've also been programming in the past and some time ago I started learning game dev (C# and Unity). I have several ideas for games, but I know I won't be able to develop them myself. What I'd like to develop:

• startegy iso-metric games
• tycoon / economic simulation games
• any platform that will make sense - myself I prefer PC gaming, but open to mobile games which might be smaller and easier to start with
• no candy-crush like games where the only mechanic is to supply dopamine and create addiction

The idea is to start with a small game, publish, learn and repeat on something a bit bigger. If any game turns profit, happy to share reve of course.

What’s up everyone!
I’ve recently been spending a lot of time in the older games since once Pokemon bank shuts down, there will be a ton of legendary and mythical Pokemon that are locked behind the paywall of Pokemon Go…
I saw a YouTuber named Trails Pokemon and they inspired me to set out on a journey to try and catch all the Shiny Mythical and legendary Pokémon in the older games, so I could have unique ribbons and markings on them! I really wanted to do all of this in hardware though so I decided to see what I could do to try and get my favorite mythical Mew, and Celebi shiny before they become incredibly hard to get if Game freak doesn't port these games to VC on the Switch / Switch 2 which I feel like if they were going to do they'd of done already.

I figured I’d start with the first two generations, Pokémon Red and Blue to get a shiny Mew, and Pokemon Gold and Silver to get a shiny Celebi. Both of these are awesome shinies, and I missed out on the Pokemon Go Masterwork research for them… so this was my only chance to get them. I was going to be working on doing the 8F Glitch, and the Coin case glitch to get them. I am pretty familiar with the Missingno glitch in gen 1 but that’s about the only glitch I’ve ever done until attempting this.
Thankfully I had already beat Pokemon Blue in a Hardcore Nuzlocke I had done earlier in the year. So I booted up my copy of Blue, and went to catch all of the legendary Pokémon, because if I’m making a transferable, good enough for Austin John Shiny Mew, I might as well make everything shiny right?
Once I caught the legendary birds, Mewtwo, and finally Mew, I then had to to some prep work:

• Catch evolve it into Parasect.
• Use the ditto glitch to catch Arbok using a Pokemon when I do the warp glitch than encounter ditto that has 108 special to get Ekans to spawn. (since it’s not in red natively) evolve it into Arbok. • Catch a Pidgey that I’ll need a lot later but this will need to be at 233 Hp, total Hp does not matter, current Hp needs to be 233.
• Catch an Onix
• Catch a Tentacool

Now I set up my party

1. Mew
2. Pidgey with 233 hp
3. Parasect
4. Onix
5. Tentacool
6. Arbok

Now it’s time to obtain my items I need for the 8F glitch, this uses Missingno, if you don’t know how to do the Missingno Glitch there are lots of videos. But briefly, if you speak to the catch tutorial man in viridian city, watch him catch Weedle, fly to cinnabar island and surf along the coastline you will encounter a Missingno among other Pokemon. M and Missingno are the two new needs. Whenever you encounter them they increase the item value by 128, so if you have 1 it would make it 1+128 or 129 in your inventory.
Items for 8F Glitch
Now I needed to obtain a lot of items to get ready and prepped once we obtained 8F. Most of the items here can be purchased from Celadon city mart, PP UP can be obtained in celadon city in a block right outside of the city near the fake Pokemon center.

Once I have obtained all of these items, place them in your Pc. I make sure to clean my pc out of redundant items, because we need to make sure there is still room for one more item later to complete this. Now I put all of these items into my pc, along with my Masterball to keep it all safe.
Now I go buy an X special, and make sure I have 7 items in my inventory making sure to have a Masterball in slot 7. And my x accuracy in slot 6.

Making sure I have a Pokémon with fly and surf in my party. Perform the Missingno glitch, once I encounter Missingno use X Special twice, use the Masterball to catch Missingno, and you should now have 255 X Special in your inventory.
With this part complete, now I move my X special to slot 3 in my inventory, and toss my first two items, this duplicates my X special. Now I start tossing stacks of X Special until there is only two scrollable spots in my inventory. Then I toss 253 specials which does some crazy things with my inventory, then swap item one with item 2 in my box, then swap them back. Now I had activated item under flow which is what I need to be able to obtain 8F.
Now I fly to Celadon city and go to the right, 1 step before the route changes. Now I toss my entire stack of X specials in slot 1, press select and pick the x special left, and scroll down into the item under flow until I find a nugget. The. I press select there to swap the nugget for the x special.
Now I walk 5 steps right, 5 steps down, and 20 steps to the right, press select on the first item, and scroll down into the item under flow, until I find 8F, press select and swap them. (This part is super sketchy. I was so worried I was going to crash my game and lose my save file here but we freaking did it!)
Now not touching anything in the menu and NOT using 8F I fly back to Cinnabar island, and deposit 8F into the pc, making sure to ONLY deposit 8F. Close the pc save, and reset my game. Now I have the 8F item! Huzzah!!
This is the first step but it felt so good to get this, it looks like the game is breaking while you’re doing this because it pretty much is lol, but if you follow the steps it works easily.
Now I deposit my x special and withdraw all of the items we set up earlier.

And setup my Pokémon I had prepared earlier:

Now with my party set up, and my items in the appropriate order (I checked like 12 times lol) I made my Mew from GF with the OT ID 22796. But this was only part one, now I needed to make it Shiny!
To set this up I needed to change everything around. I deposit my Mew into my pc into box slot one, moving all of my other Pokemon from the box mew is in into box 2 so I only had Mew in my Box 1.
I then go to the safari zone and catch a Kangaskhan.
With Kangaskhan on my team it now looks like this

1. Pidgey with 233 current hp
2. Parasect
3. Onix
4. Tentacool
5. Kangaskan

With my party of avengers Pokemon assembled, now I needed to get my bag set up. This includes changing up lots of items. So I deposit unneeded items into my pc
Bag:

4. X Accuracy x178/177* (50 + Missingno)
5. Carbos x218 (90 + Missingno)

• *you use 8F then toss 1 accuracy and use 8F again

Now with everything set up, I go to my PC, double checking all of my items and my Pokémon team is correct. Then use 8F with 178 X Accuracy, drop 1 X Accuracy, and then use 8F again with 177 X Accuracy again. Now I check my Mew and all its stats have changed. And my HP stat goes beyond the hp bar but I fix this issue by going to nurse Joy and healing my Pokémon in the Pokémon center.
With this power in my hands, I then made my Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, and Mewtwo Shiny. I also decided to make my Blastoise Johnathan shiny as well, which was my ace in my Nuzlocke run that died in the very last battle against Gary. I felt like it had earned its spot as a shiny that I could transfer to generation 9’s Scarlet and Violet.
Phewwwwwwwwwe generation 1 done… Now I need to do generation 2.. so I start out on a fresh copy of Pokemon silver and pick my boy Totodile (it's my fave starter so I of course have to pick it) name him Lyle and then proceed through the rest of the game to beat the Elite 4. During my journey from Littleroot town, I had a couple goals in this game.

1. I need to get Shiny Celebi, and the 1/8192 encounter rate wasn’t the ticket, with an unknown end date to bank I needed to get it much sooner.
2. Catch all of the legendary beasts shiny
3. Get the legendary duo Ho-Oh and Lugia Shiny
4. Make Lyle the Feraligatr shiny

Getting the Coin Case Glitch
Now I have actually never done any glitches in Pokemon Silver or gold ever so this will be my first attempt… I wipe the floor with Lance and my super OP Feraligatr. Then start setting up to get everything I need.
The first thing I snag is the namesake, the coin case. I go down into the underground in Goldenrod city and find the Coin Case that will allow us to actually perform this glitch. With Coin Case in hand, I head off to get TM27 Return from the Market top floor, this TM can only be gotten on Sunday though and if you have high friendship with the lead Pokemon, it's possible to change your date and time and it was a Thursday when I started to initiate this, so I changed my in game time and day so you don’t have to wait (https://legendarypkmn.net/pass/) Then I went off to Then off to Ilex forest to get TM02 Headbutt.
With this done, it’s now time to set up my avengers team, so I catch a Wooper, and Evolve it into Quagsire. I teach it Surf so it knows 4 moves, then teach it TM 27 Return as its first move. Once complete I hand it TM02 headbutt to hold (Do not teach it Headbutt it should be a held item). Catch a flying Pokemon, which I ended up snagging one of my favorite regional birds HootHoot. And finally a slide pokemon. So I learned that a slide Pokemon is one with Low DV’s, low friendship and is low level. Through doing this glitch three times, the best Pokemon I found was catching a Bellsprout outside of Violet city, then trade it to someone in the city for an Onix named Rocky, this Onix works every time you run this glitch (for me it has anyways) and makes this harder part of doing the glitch easy.
Now it was time to get my change pokemon so I caught 6 pokemon on Victory road to use as my pokemon I’ll be changing. Multiple Golbats, Donphan etc.
Once complete this is what my party looks like

1. Pokemon we are changing

3. My Slide Pokemon in my case Rocky the Onix
4. Quagsire with Return as its first move, and holding TM02 Headbutt

Using this guide on Bulbapedia I select the box layout that I need to have set up to run these codes to get my desired outcome. I figured I’d try with Celebi first. https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Coin_Case_glitches
I change my box to match for Celebi, fly to cherry Grove city and enter the Mart. Save the game, walk out of the mart taking 4 steps to the right, opening my pokedex on Bellsprout to hear its cry, then use the coin case after switching pockets in my inventory. It glitches out my game, but after I save it the issue is fixed.
Now my Pokemon in Slot 1 is extremely broken. If I encounter anything it looks like a Celebi, but on the menu it still looks like a Golbat.
With my broken Golbat I head over to the Daycare in Goldenrod and deposit my Pokemon, here you either pay a ton of money to get your Pokemon out, or 100 pokedollars. I found if you take one step down, then walk straight out, turn right back around and enter, he only charges you 100 Poke dollars, it worked several times when I did this so hopefully if you do this it does for you as well. Once I get my Golbat back it is now a Celebi! But its not legal to transfer to home… yet anyways.
I head to Blackthorn to delete all of my Celebi’s moves that it doesn’t know legitimately, and use TMs to teach it moves it does, if you didn’t nickname your Pokemon is actual name too I would use the name rater to change the name to whatever Pokemon you changed it too.
I then proceeded to do this Glitch multiple times to obtain:
Entei
Suicune
Raikou
Ho-Oh
Lugia
Celebi (Tink)
With all of the Pokemon I was looking for obtained now it was time to turn them shiny! So I use the Bulbapedia guide again change my box names to match those of changing the shiny pokemon, https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Coin\_Case\_glitches. And keep my part composition the same.

1. Pokemon we are changing
2. Flying Pokemon
3. My Slide Pokemon in my case Rocky the Onix
4. Quagsire with Return as its first move, and holding TM02 Headbutt

Then run the coin case glitch again doing the same as above, this changes the Pokemon in slot 1 to its shiny variant! I do this multiple times, for all 6 legendaries, then to Feraligatr, and Nidoking as well. I love Nidoking shiny, it looks so freaking cool imo.
Now the last thing I needed to do was to get the Pokemon to the correct levels as a lot of these Pokemon are under the level cap that will flag as a legitimate Pokemon… so I run about 8 hrs of Elite 4 runs, and eventually get the Pokemon to the required level they need to be.
Celebi - Lvl 30
Entei - Lvl 40
Suicune - Lvl 40
Raikou - Lvl 40
Lugia - Lvl 40
Ho-Oh - Lvl 40
The fastest way to do this if I had to to do it over again, would be to change Pokemon I caught in Mount Silver, vs Pokemon on Victory Road, as Pokemon in Mt Silver are over 40, so all you would have to do is change the Pokemon itself, delete its moves, and then it would be ready to go.
Lyle the Feraligatr will live forever with me now in the current games, and so will all of these awesome legendary Pokemon.
With all of this work done, It was finally time to transfer these pokemon up to Generation 9, this was pretty time consuming. It took about 70-75 hrs to beat both games and perform the glitches / learn what I needed to do. But it was super rewarding to get them into Pokemon scarlet and Violet. The Coin case glitch is leagues easier than the 8F glitch as you can see, and way less stressful. I wasn’t worried about my game blowing up to smithereens lol. Especially with this being the first time I had ever manipulated a Pokemon game to get more out of it then just extra rare candies to level up my Pokemon
As far as the future holds, Gen 3 and Gen 4 have some opportunities as well so I will be looking at those games next! Cannot wait to get going on them!

Like aside from it being an insane waste of money, it just feels wrong to throw away food that has never been opened but gone bad because I forgot about it for too long. Also disgusting because I don't want to have a pack of fluffy strawberries in my fridge.
Idk even if I put, lets say a bunch of apples or a loaf of bread, right were I can see them in the kitchen I will just not think about eating it and go to to grocery store to buy something else instead. Happens with food that can't go bad (like candy) too but in that case the half eaten packages just keep piling up. I tried to only buy what I need for 2 or 3 days but then I buy too much random shit because I'm too frequently at the grocery store. I tried writing a list and only buy what's on that list but I just can't bring myself to write that damn list, it's like nails on a chalkboard. Idk how to solve this.
(Also idk if I have adhd, I'm getting checked for it. But that's one of the problems that made me get checked and that I need to solve regardless of if I have adhd or not)
