2024.05.19 15:13 RnsW33kly Attitude is everything

I had the most unpleasant and sour experience of my life playing the tcg in person at a pre-release... for the first time ever and I understand why people say they don't play in public anymore.
I am a collector through and through. I buy to look at shiny cardboard and to have fun opening packs to collect Mt favorite pocket monsters.
I've been doing so fairly consistently since 2016 and very seriously since August of last year. I have never played the game publicly ever in my life, only with family and friends in a safe and casual environment.
I've been incredibly excited for Twilight Masquerade since it was reported on months ago. I loved the Teal Mask DLC and all its editions, some of my favorite content in poke.on period. So I wanted to get my hands on it early and enjoy getting packs with my family at the local card shop, lcs. Well I was having a blast until my last game.
I was 0-2 as I'm a complete novice and building decks with a 40 card deck and packs isn't ideal, so obviously I wasn't good. I am a 24 pro guy and I got washed by an 11 year old girls palafin in one turn. But I was still optimistic that I might get lucky on my last game.
I find my table and introduce myself and the first thing I was met with was "alright, let's get this over with" in the most exasperated, annoyed, and rude tone ever. My smile immediately turned to a stone cold face. My opponent starts by rapidly shuffling their deck and just slams it on the table and starts setting up so loudly that the other people at the table (my brother being one playing right next to them) stopped their game out of shock. And the entire time was seriously emanating a foul, bitter, and horrid aura of sheer disgust. "Flip your card" "Heads or tails, call it". Slamming cards down left snd right. Constantly saying backhanded comments, being rude to everyone around us, budding in on my brothers game. Groaning at my pace, grabbing my cards off my side of the table without asking, degrading me and belittling my knowledge. Sitting up and shooting daggers of disgust and contempt and asking "is this your first pre-release?". God forbid a collector who spends their free time and expandable income on video game cardboard cards want to participate in the hobby at a deeper level. And of course my deck shuffle luck is horrendous and I can't get my second electric or luminous energy to damage, so it looks like I'm stalling. "You're not going to play the tatsugiri, wow, okay" rolls eyes and scoffs.
Finally starts dealing damage and eventually takes me out. Then when the judge, their friend and the professor of the store, comes over they get sportsmanlike and says "wow that sure was close at the end, I was getting nervous!" (Which to be fair, was a little true, I could see the nervousness). But then like tossed the table slip at me to sign and told me where to sign, even though, I had just done this twice...
I was so peaved the whole time that I spent my day awake at this even mid-day, when I could be sleeping because I work third shifts usually and going off 1 hour of sleep.
I told my brother who was there the whole time and didnt stop their terrible behavior, etiquette, and attitude, not one word in the store.
I finally got a second with a worker in the store and told them what happened. I got some of my favorites, crown zenith 3 packs, and a lost origin blister for 4 bucks, and was about to go. The professor comes up and apologizes to me about what happened and said that no matter what, behavior like that is not acceptable and that they apologize profusely. Tried explaining how this isn't a surprise but nonetheless a disappointment and that they'd talk to their friend to say how that behavior isn't acceptable.
I go there all the time. Every off day, I try and go and when I do, 9/10 times I'm walking out having spent at least 35 dollars and even more fairly often. And that won't change after the one bad experience. I appreciate the professor for what they did, but I should've stood up for myself but I didn't want to cause a scene at such a fun event.
I just hope that people can have some grace and patience for newcomers to the game without being total jerks.
I'm sorry for the long post. I just needed a place to share my experience to the people who'd understand the most. Thank you for the time and I hope you have a great day.
(P.s. if you're going to leave a mean or rude comment, just be blunt about it, that's all that I ask)

2024.05.19 13:57 Doublefacedbabface Any substuites for 3D printing masks?

I have been interested in kig masks for some time and decided I wanna get my first one for a niffty cosplay (hazbin hotel) I can't buy a base because 1. They're very expensive for me and shipping can be a bit tricky with a situation in my area rn 2. Niffty has a unique face shape with only one big cyclops eye, and if I wanted to get something like that it'd have to be custom.
My brother tried making me a mask out of some kind of air dry clay but it's very delicate and breaks easily. I don't have a 3D printer so I was wondering if anyone knows if there's something else I can use instead?

2024.05.19 13:27 Fun-Lock4401 And so it begins: starting to hear plague coughs again out and about in NYC

NY state health dept. data shows COVID cases are up 50-60% in NYC in the last few weeks, even with so little testing. Same sources show COVID Hospitalizations are also up around 30% in NYC in similar time period.
Last week I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan for the first time since Feb. 2020 (I have a slight suspicion that's where I caught COVID in Feb. 2020, which led to my long COVID, but there are innumerable other options). I of course wore my N95, and I didn't I didn't hear many coughs or sneezes in the crowds, but there was one middle aged woman I remember constantly coughing and it did not sound good. No mask of course.
I was buying a bottle of wine in my neighborhood liquor store yesterday and there was a lady shopping in there who was coughing about every 5-10 seconds. Not a scary sounding cough, but constant -- no mask, of course, like 99% of people in New York City who virtually never mask.
Then I got home and out the windows of my fifth floor apartment building, that face into a long narrow area bout 30 feet wide between my 6 floor and roughly 60 unit pre-war brick apt. building and multiple other similar structures (so just tons of people's windows open on this space) I heard someone very sick coughing their guts up -- just an awful cough, not that they were vomiting. This is not a familiar sound, so I don't think it's just someone with a chronic lung illness.
Just got up and having my morning coffee and hearing this same person's horrible cough again.
It's been a little while since I was hearing horrible coughs like this. I don't know why but I have this weird feeling this might be a pretty bad spring/summer wave we're going into. Also I've been looking at the rise in some of the wastewater data and it looks fast for the start of a wave, they usually begin a little more slowly. Stay safe and stay masked everyone.

2024.05.19 13:22 sunghooter Koschei bomb drone boss kill strat

  1. At least two players in a squad.
  2. Both players bring a recon drone into Al Mazrah equipped in their field upgrade slot. Bring C4 as tactical is optional but quicker.
  3. Both players immediately head to the Taraq Bridge water entrance to Koschei off spawn using the nearest vehicle.
  4. Along the way to Koschei entrance, stop at gas stations least likely to have players and look for scuba masks. Every player should have one at least and ideally, two. Also, trade vehicles as necessary if they're faster or your current one is damaged heavily.
  5. While approaching the entrance underneath the bridge, go in as fast as possible inside the vehicle getting as close as you can for extra cover. Immediately enter the tunnel and initiate the entrance airlock. There are a few loot caches in this tunnel you can quickly check if you feel you have the time to spare. Seconds count.
  6. When spawning into Koschei, immediately head down into the Complex and search for Barracks Key A. Avoid laser tripwires and read the note for the items necessary to unlock the Shopkeeper's buy station. Look for these items, a liquor bottle, and Barracks Key B along the way to the secret path entrance and unlock it. Disarm the laser tripwire traps in the area with the first bots you come across and stow the C4 if you don't have any to use later.
  7. Once both keys unlock the path, you have immediate access to the buy station with several areas you can look for loot along the way as well as the rest of the Complex. Once all items for Shopkeeper's buy station are found, dead drop each of them into the Shopkeeper's dead drop to unlock the special buy station.
  8. Any player that has a recon drone and C4 equipped or stowed in their bag can now barter using the Shopkeeper's buy station for a bomb drone kill streak. Barter for at least two bomb drones minimum but preferably three. One for each boss (the Rhino and Sniper) and a spare in case of mistakes.
  9. Proceed to the boss area where the Rhino spawns using the Alternate Exit key path but stop right before entering the large room he'll be inside. Deploy bomb drone #1 and fly it over to the Rhino using an approach that gives it the most cover from being shot down by the Rhino, Sniper, and any bots. He is easily identifiable by his riot shield and distinct helmet so get it as close to his head as possible and detonate the bomb. If you get a large amount of XP after, it worked and he's dead. If unsuccessful, try finishing him off using conventional gunfire before using a second drone. The Rhino gets surrounded by bots and is hard to kill so use spare drones on him because the Sniper is easier to handle. Proceed to Sniper spawn area after Rhino is dead.
  10. Once the Rhino dies some doors open up with a stairwell to access the Sniper spawn area and you're likely being swarmed by bots at this time. Take cover in the stairwell landing and use any remaining bomb drones on the Sniper who looks similar to regular bots but is stands out with the sniper rifle he uses with a bright lens lint. Once again, fly it as close to his head as possible while avoiding any bots shooting it down as best as you can. You'll get another large amount of XP if it worked and both bosses are dead.
  11. Pay special attention to the laser tripwires in this area as you approach the Sniper's body. There are multiple tripwires close together and can be spotted easily using NVG's. Keep some space between each teammate to prevent accidentally triggering a trap and downing two or more teammates.
  12. There will be a key dropped by the Sniper near his body to pick up that unlocks a door to a room with multiple loot containers, various high-tier loot, and the Koschei Complex Weapons case.
This completes the Koschei Boss kill 12-step bomb-drone strategy. This strategy can be done solo by a savvy enough Koschei player using a secure backpack, already possessing a bomb drone prior to the match, or a little luck finding a second recon drone. Soloing this strat though requires some skill and moving fast since you have to unlock the Shopkeeper's Buy station to complete the barters and some items may only be found in the Alpha Cluster which requires jumper cables and a car battery. This also requires a level of familiarity with Koschei to move around it without wasted time looking in wrong places for the areas and items needed to complete it.
Alternatively to the barter strat, players can also travel around Al Mazrah's buy stations searching for any that sell bomb drones. However, the buy stations have random killstreaks and traveling around Al Mazrah too much may lead you into trouble. You'll also need a large enough amount of cash to buy them which may get your squad hunted by particularly sweaty players.

2024.05.19 13:19 SoSolidKerry Journey so far of herniated disc (including what's worked for me)

Hello, one and all. Been lurking for a while. Thought I'd share my experience thus far. I'm a 45-year-old female who herniated L4/L5 in early January. I'm, therefore, four months, two weeks post-injury.
It's a mild-ish protrusion pressing on nerves and causing sciatica. I have never had back pain. I'm a Brit. I plan to get over this conservatively and do not intend to have any injections or surgery. Note that I have some trouble lifting my left foot and walking as normal on that side, but everything is functional. I am able to lift my toes and heels, and I have full sensation everywhere.
From my scan, disc height is compromised only a tiny bit (I have juicy discs). I have a very wide and spacious nerve canal. No other issues aside from a transitional disc below (born with more bone than disc at L5/S1, very common, and I'm luckily in the "won't cause pain" camp) and a slight bulging disc above, which isn't pressing on anything. The transitional disc is likely to have led to this injury. But moving house finally pushed me over the edge, lifting things the wrong way.

The first month

The first month was obviously painful. Terrible sleep; sciatica was awful (burning in my left calf and left foot with some right foot tingling), and I was very stiff and leaning forward most mornings. Doing McKenzie cobras in those early days helped massively. And amazingly, I kept up with walking and averaged 15,000 steps daily. It wasn't painful. But I was taking Ibuprofen and paracetamol. I believe a lot of my sciatica has been caused by inflammation.
Back then, I was seeing a physio and doing some basic pelvic tilts, bridges, calf stretches, cat/camels, and – like I mentioned – cobra poses. Otherwise, I would mostly lie on the floor, on my front, resting. Or walking outdoors. It would take me three hours just to pluck up the courage to shower. And I could only stand under the hot water for less than a minute before lying on the floor again. Sitting was impossible. I couldn't use the car. I couldn't sleep on my left side. I would crawl down the stairs each morning after barely any sleep and go straight to the drugs. I couldn't make breakfast or do anything. But as each day wore on, I'd become less stiff and more upright and be able to walk for miles.

In search of a silver bullet

I tried everything in February and March. Acupuncture, physio, McKenzie stuff... They put me on Amitriptyline initially, but I hated it. And so they gave me Gabapentin. This helped with sleep and dialled down the pain significantly (I was on 300mg three times a day). I vaguely remember a crazy day when I walked into my local town, sat, and had cake and tea with an old friend. Still to this day, I can't figure out how! Boy, those drugs worked!
By the end of March, I discovered Egoscue and began posture therapy. I did it religiously for six weeks and even began working with a therapist. But it wasn't helping. And I didn't see any improvements. I also decided to come off the Gabapentin during this time (I would later go back on it, as I was in a lot of pain), as I felt totally off my face and hated it.
Around February, I also discovered Dr Stuart McGill. And read his excellent book, Back Mechanic. I learnt about spine hygiene and loads of other helpful stuff. Gradually, little by little, turning in bed got easier (brace that core) and getting up out of bed and off the toilet became pain-free, too. But I just wasn't seeing massive improvement.

Finding the right approach

That's when I decided to see a Master Clinician under McGill. Wow. It was the best money I had ever spent, and I'd spent more on acupuncture!
He went through my scan, was the only one to tell me about the transitional disc, and asked what I'd been doing thus far. He recommended that I give the posture therapy and the walking a break, just for a few weeks, to see if we could calm the inflammation down. And so I did. I rested. I mostly lay on the floor on my front or back and only moved around the house. No outdoor walking. No McKenzie cobra poses (which I've since discovered do more harm than good long-term and adopt a gentler version McGill recommends and says is just as effective). That was back in early April. And following his advice alone? I saw immediate improvements. In fact, the very next day, I was pain-free for seven hours. I couldn't believe it – just by resting.
I only rested for three weeks, and then I decided to try walking outdoors again. My gosh. The difference after the break! I could barely do ten minutes around the block without pain. It was too much. (I could never walk first thing before either – only later on in the day. But it would usually be fine.) But my back specialist wanted me to try walking three times a day, starting small. So, I persisted. He told me to stop if walking made things worse, though. Thankfully, it's been three weeks since I began walking outdoors again, and I'm making great progress. I can now get up from bed and walk immediately (I had to give it an hour before I ventured out of the house). And I can walk for half an hour, too. Three times a day. I find that a morning walk is crucial. I am stiff and a little sore at first, but it eases. And sets me up for the day. I also enjoy two or three hours of no pain when returning home.

Finally seeing progress

Since early April, the improvements have been gradual but almost daily. They're so small sometimes that you hardly notice them! It's only when you look back that you realise how far you've come!
In the six weeks since I worked with my back specialist, I have seen the constant burning sciatica in my foot and calf mostly disappear. Initially, I had a lot of fuzzing. That has now subsided, and since then, it's gone from fuzzing to cold water feelings and tingling... with occasional burning again (mostly only in the top of my calf), but that goes quickly. Now and again, I'll get a random ten minutes of a burning foot again, but it soon disappears.
A few weeks ago, I started getting new sharp and painful jolts in my left hip. That's apparently blood returning to the nerves. For the last week, I have barely had any foot or calf issues—I mostly have sharp pulling nerve pain on my left kneecap and similar symptoms in my hip. Only in the last month have I occasionally started to get a bruised feeling in my lumbar spine.
The morning stiffness and leaning forward? Gone. I am bolt-upright every morning and feel pretty good, posture-wise. Funny enough, since I quit doing the posture therapy. Go figure!
My glutes are very tight and constantly holding themselves. I'm trying to teach them to relax, but it's tough, as I know they're protecting themselves. I've been using heat to relax them—just a microwaved wheat sack some mornings.
Under a week ago, I came off Gabapentin. And I also quit Ibuprofen about five weeks ago. The only meds I take now are paracetamol – just one dose in the middle of the night to calm my (good) right hip that gets sore from only sleeping on that side.

How far I've come

Here I am, four months and two weeks post-injury. I still can't sit on a soft surface (I use a special sciatica cushion on a dining chair), I can't sit in a vehicle for the same reason, I can't sleep on my left side, and I still have some mild foot drop but am walking better.
On a positive note, the pain symptoms are changing daily, which is apparently a good sign. I am starting to feel some back pain for the first time, too. Centralisation is perhaps occurring. Instead of lying on the floor for several hours before breakfast, I now find better relief in standing and moving around. I can also sit for short spurts on my dining chair first thing in the morning, whereas before, I'd only be able to do that from midday.
I'm sleeping better. Six or seven hours a night. It's a tad broken, but I feel rested. And when I get up in the morning? Whereas before, my left leg and foot would go crazy with fuzzing and burning, now? Nothing. A mild tingling some mornings, but otherwise, fine.
I spend more of my days moving around, standing, walking, and occasionally sitting than "resetting" on the floor. And when I do feel sciatica getting worse, a brief rest on the floor makes the pain go away. It's never 100 per cent pain-free, you understand. It's mildly uncomfortable and feels like it could get worse at any moment, but I'm good.
And I'm finding that if I overdo it, any flare-up I might have is brief and easily overcome. Whereas before, it might've been five days to recover, now it's an hour resting on the floor.
If I stand at my standing desk for too long, my lumbar ache begins. It's not painful. It just feels weird—bruised, almost unstable, like I can feel it stacked. I lie down, reset, and then I'm good to go.

What has really helped

I now know what to do to avoid triggering pain. I can tie my shoes with my foot on a bench and lunge in. I have a shoe horn – a game-changer! I also use a strapped-on ice pack when I need to calm my nerves. Less so these days. And heat on my ass when the glutes feel too tight. I only take paracetamol in the middle of the night to help me sleep. Oh, and I find going to bed with an ice pack on sometimes really helps!
The meds definitely helped in those painful early days; but I need feedback. Once I felt I could, I stopped taking everything.
During this time, I also hired a cleaner (fortnightly) and a gardener. I've not stopped working (I have no choice; I am a freelancer). And I have no kids. So I don't have to commute anywhere. I stay at home and rest, and the only time I leave the house is to walk. I also invested in a new mattress, a game changer (John Ryan Artisan Luxury, if anyone wants to know). I am very lucky in all of these respects, I know.
The walking really helps – but it was only when I stopped, rested, and allowed by body to heal that I noticed a difference in my symptoms.

Not out the woods yet...

Pain is still an issue. Evenings are the worst. I go to bed around 9pm and lying there brings relief and I have no issue going to sleep. I only wake after about three or four hours due to sleeping on the same side every night. And then easily fall back to sleep, with only a few brief waking moments. I roughly get around six or seven hours a night. And thankfully, sciatica isn't really present at night (maybe a little harmless fuzzing). Just the evenings before bed – that's when it can get intense and the burning in my calf and foot can come back tenfold. Sigh.
Mornings are my best friend now. Pain doesn't usually become an issue until much later in the day. I'll have little episodes. But I can swiftly reset myself and move on. It can get harder to reset the later in the day it becomes, too. Some days are worse than others. The good days are starting to outweigh the bad. When I have an awful day, I do feel disheartened. But then I remember how far I've come, and try and stay strong.
I don't always do my three walks, either. If that evening walk doesn't feel right, I won't do it. I'll rest. I'll ice my back and lie down. I absolutely am trying to avoid drugs. But I have ibuprofen in my cupboard, just in case!

What's next?

I'm nowhere near ready to begin strength training. And I've avoided all physio and stretching of late. I am just doing what my back specialist recommends. Some mild cat/camels to get the blood flowing, walking, resting. I take magnesium, turmeric, vitamins D and B12, omega-3. I try to avoid sugar and alcohol (I don't always succeed on that one). I'm not ready for longer walks yet. And there's no way I could take a bath, sit up in bed, or sit on the sofa.
But I am healing. This has been quite the journey, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm excited for the next phase of recovery: rehab! And boy, will I be taking it seriously—for the rest of my life! It's down to us, after all. No one can do it for us.
There are some big life events coming up that I know I'm not ready for. When they get closer, if I'm still not better, I will call my GP and ask for advice. Ibuprofen might be brought out again. Perhaps even something stronger. But if I'm one of the lucky ones, I should be seeing further progress in the coming weeks and months.
I rate my ability to function normally when I can sleep on my left side again, drive my car and when I can sit on the sofa, too! I won't mind if there is some residual pain and weakness. As long as I can function without having the crux of a floor and yoga mat nearby.

Key takeaways

I am more than happy to answer any questions. I hope this has helped someone. It's certainly helped me to get it all on screen. And I wanted to thank this community for all I've learned this year. I hope you're not in too much pain.

2024.05.19 12:23 Strong-Trip-7453 Complaining about my bday

This is soo petty and insignificant. But I just have to get it off my chest cuz like wtf. They didn't buy me anything when i turned 18 it's literally been 7months and I can't stop crying about it, It's one of those things that I find so hard to let go off cuz it's kinda supposed to be significant. First of all we are a pretty stable middle class family so its not about the money. They just didn't buy me anything, I remember cutting cake and waiting for them to hand me a gift. I sat there next to my friend while they were in the kitchen i opened up the gift. My friend and i were so excited to see what it was. I'm not type of person who needs a masive gift i rly dont ask for much. I open the wrapping and guess what it was... a light up sign saying 18. My smile dropped so did my friends cuz we both knew that this was the gift it was a small light up sign saying 18. Nothing else, if this sign was something rly unique or just better quality i would not complain. But it came with the 18 birthday kit... guys it was part of a 20euro birthday kit it wasn't even supposed to be a gift its supposed to be a prop in the back of my bday photos with the balloons ect. I just sat there dumbfounded. Idc what my friend thinks shes like a sister she definitely doesn't even remember my bday and isn't the type to judge. It's rather that it was my last yr for any birthday party. My parents aren't the type to celebrate anything after 18 because I'm officially an adult.
I cried that night so hard it wasn't just the bday gift which was the issue. On my bday i had to ask one of my friends to go out with me. I bought her lunch and she was great company i love this girl to the moon and back but obviously. She thought i would go out with a different friend or something, she cancelled her plans for the day and hung outwith me. My other rly close friends at that time were busy. My friends aren't bitches dw they just arent that close to me if that makes sense. They came to cut cake and give me gifts a few days later. But by then i was sick of my bday i just wanted it to be over wished i was never born so i didn't have to be in this awkward situation.
It hit me that it kinda sucked that my parents couldn't love me enough that day. You would think if i don't friends i would at least have my parents. But damn they didnt even buy me a birthday card. The one birthday that ive been looking forward to since a child thinking its supposed to be the best and most important birthday turned out to be the worst bday possible. The realisation kicked in that i have never actually had a single good bday in my life. And this was the last shot at it and it's fucked.
Just when I was beginning to realise how stupid i sounded. I am religious, i know that i should always be greatful for what i have and shouldn't ask for more. Materialistic desires never lead to a true feeling of fulfilment.
My friends suggested that we suprise a different friend for her bday. We walk into her house and her parents did the same thing for her they wanted to suprise her for her birthday. We walked in and the living room was fully decorated they put in so much effot for their daughter. They picked out 18 gift for her 18yrs. This family isnt rich either same as mine middle class all the gifts were simple and reasonable. Clothes, some small mini make up, nail polish and face mask and some of her favourite snacks. And they bought her one expensive main gift.
If they wanted to they would. Went home and felt so fucking useless. My parents couldn't even get themselves to write a card for me. I don't need a shit tone of bday gifts i just wanted a bday card with words of encouragement from my mom and dad. I just wanted a lil small tiny ring, didn't even have to be a fancy expensive one.. they could've gave me a gummy ring and i would just laughed it off and not cared and would've been happy with the card.
Idk it just sucks I'll probably laugh at it 30yrs in the future but it still sucks. Its so dumb to cry over somthing like this. There definitely are bigger issues in my life but i just wanted one important bday to go well. I wish bdays didn't exist. I don't even want my next birthday to come cuz it's just embarrassing sitting and writing in my journal about how shit my day was.
Sorry im on my period and wanted to rant. Also Im dyslexic asf ignore the typos. This is soooo embarrassing. Idk if this is the right place to be posting this either tbh.

Short story - Mystery: Emily Is Missing
Emily Is Missing Story and image by Hotpot AI
Private investigator Dirk Armstrong had seen all the greatest sleazy hits in his line of work. The cheating spouses, the embezzling employees, the fake Worker's Compensation injuries. It had all become pretty mundane. But when a call from a new client came in, it caught his attention. This case was different, like something out of a movie. This case was about a missing heiress, Emily, who had vanished without a trace.
Emily came from an old-money banking family, with a fortune that could make anyone's head spin. And now, she was gone. Her family was desperate to find her, and they turned to Armstrong for help.
As Armstrong delved into the case, he quickly realized that this was not a simple missing person's case. There were layers upon layers of lies, deceit, and hidden motives in high society. The family's desperation to find Emily seemed to be more about protecting their fortune than finding their beloved daughter.
Armstrong's investigation led him to Emily's closest friends and family members, all of whom seemed to have something to hide. But one person stood out to Armstrong: Emily's brother, Marcus. He was the one who had hired Armstrong, and he seemed to be the most anxious to find his sister. But his anguish also seemed a bit overwrought. Maybe even faked.
As Armstrong dug deeper, he discovered that Marcus had a gambling problem and was in deep debt. Could he have something to do with Emily's disappearance? Armstrong couldn't shake off the feeling that Marcus was hiding something, but he needed concrete evidence to prove it.
Then, four days after she had gone missing, there was an traceable email communication from someone who stated that they had kidnapped Emily and were holding her hostage. They made a demand for a ransom of one million dollars, and stated that they would be in contact again soon.
Not long after this, Armstrong received a call from an overseas insurance company. They were investigating a million-dollar claim for Emily's kidnapping. They explained that six months earlier, the family had taken out a specialty insurance policy on Emily for high net worth individuals. It was a highly unusual policy, paying five million dollars in any case of kidnapping, seven million dollars in cases that are resolved by paying ransom, and 10 million dollars in cases where the insured individual dies in the course of the kidnapping.
The insurance company had serious doubts about the legitimacy of the claim, and wanted to send their own investigator to interview Armstrong. They wanted to know if he had found anything suspicious in his investigation.
Armstrong couldn't legally reveal the details of his investigation to any third party, but he did tell the insurance company's investigator that something didn't add up. He couldn't put his finger on it, but there were certain things about Emily's kidnapping that didn't ring true.
The insurance company's investigator thanked Armstrong for his time and left, but his words lingered in Armstrong's mind. He couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to this case than meets the eye.
Weeks went by with no further word from the kidnappers. Everyone feared the worst. Police detectives gently counseled the family that there was little hope any kidnapped victim is still alive this long after the abduction and involving this long a silence. Because they didn't follow up on pursuing the million-dollar ransom, the family expressed fear that the kidnappers had panicked and killed Emily in order to walk away from the whole plan with impunity.
But then, early one morning, the seemingly impossible happened—Emily appeared. She looked exhausted, malnourished, and was wearing the same clothes she was wearing when she disappeared. She told a strange story of being abducted by three men in Halloween masks and thrown into a van. She said they had kept her in some warehouse in the inner city, handcuffed to one of the warehouse's metal support poles.
She said that she was never allowed to catch as much as a glimpse of the men's real faces the entire time. They did not abuse or physically harm her, she said, but they provided only minimal care during her captivity. Then, at daybreak this day, they suddenly removed her from the warehouse, put her in the same van, and drove her near home and tossed her out of the vehicle.
This all sounded very dramatic, but because of the insurance money at stake, no aspect of her story or the situation overall could be accepted at face value. The insurance company's investigator interviewed Emily at length, but could not find flaws in her story to gain leverage with since she had been—or claimed to have been—confined and blindfolded at all times in the kidnappers' presence.
Usually, a good insurance investigator can tell whether someone's story stinks by picking apart their story and analyzing all the details. But in this case, that wasn't possible because Emily had not seen anything at all, and only heard a few things, none of which were helpful to police and the investigation.
As Armstrong continued his own investigation, he ultimately uncovered a shocking truth: Emily was not really kidnapped. It had been a fraud pulled by her family, who had been experiencing financial pressures despite being pretty rich compared to most people. They had concocted the plan, and Marcus was the mastermind behind it all. He had convinced Emily to go along with the pan to fake her kidnapping, promising her it would solve all of the family's money problems.
Armstrong confronted Marcus with the evidence, and he finally cracked. He confessed to everything, including Emily's involvement. The family's greed had blinded them, and now they were facing serious consequences. Emily herself was destined to do several years in prison for her participation, which was critical to the entire scheme.
As Armstrong handed over his findings to the authorities, he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Justice had been served, and Emily was safe and sound. But the case left a lasting impact on Armstrong. He had seen the dark side of high society, where money and power could corrupt even the closest of families. And he knew that he would never look at his job the same way again.

[Abandoned Pools] Sony Connect Track by Track Interview
A while back I was messing around with the Wayback Machine & came across this diamond in the rough on AP's MySpace page. Also found some photos, but most importantly, a track-by-track [Armed To The Teeth] interview from Sony Connect that they did back in '05 (presumably around the same time they did the Sony Connect set with the acoustic songs).
In the interview, Tommy tells the story behind each track on Armed To The Teeth (except Lucky). You'll also find tidbits about the process, lyrically & sonically of these songs, and much more!
If you want to read it/see it from the "raw" source and discover more, here's a link with the Wayback's capture I found on the interview blog: https://web.archive.org/web/20071005015435/http://www.myspace.com/abandonedpools
Now without further ado, the Sonic Connect Interview:
A track by track discussion of Armed to the Teeth from the Sony Connect Store interview:
LETHAL KILLERS TW: As far as how that [demo of the] song was constructed ... I did this trick where I would take a half-time drum loop and sort of nudge it one way and then put in another track and nudge it the other, and we got this sort of double time, rolling drum feel. So that - plus the sort of round-robin type of guitar parts that we have going - was sort of a very easy construction for a song. And then you start moving the bass part around, and, boom, you've got a song.
But I think that lyrically - I want to make it clear that that song isn't necessarily [about] "church is bad, government's bad." I think it's a little bit more complicated than that, though sometimes if you mix the two of religious power and government power, that can be bad for both of them. And I kinda like the idea of not living a life saying, "Well, you better live life in a certain way because then, you know, everything's gonna be great later in heaven." You know, the idea of, like, if this is all we have now, if that idea was just a little bit more embraced, our world could be a little bit better. I just find that a little bit more satisfying, too, if you think like, this is all you have and then you're gonna die. [Laughs] It seems a little bit more like, "Oh, okay, well!" instead of, like, thinking that there's some other life at some other time and you can put things off.
RABBLE TW: Well, a lot of the songs on this record - about two-thirds of it - have to do with a relationship I had that went south, and you know when you go through relationships you always have such a good 20/20 hindsight about things. And I think "Rabble" is just trying to basically say to somebody, "I just wanted to know you better" . . . It's just one of those things where, with this relationship in particular, I wish it would have turned out better. And there's a lot of things that happened that shouldn't have happened, and it's just sort of one of those "oh, what could have been?" scenarios.
THE CATALYST TW: "The Catalyst" is definitely along the same lines. I think the main line in that one is "I wish I could say something beautiful to make you fall in love again." There's a Coachella reference in there, too: "Love has slowly faded away like spotlights shining into space." Have you ever been to Coachella? Of course you have. You know, there's all those spotlights that shoot up in the air. I just thought that was kinda cool, like, how far do those lights really go? "The Catalyst" was also the last song written for the record. It was demoed while we were in the studio. And it's one of those songs that I said two-thirds of the record was written for somebody. That's one of them.
TIGHTER NOOSE TW: "Tighter Noose" is the oldest song on the record by far. It was probably written back in '99, 2000, or somewhere in there. I was thinking about it for the first record [2001's Humanistic], but it didn't really fit in with those kind of songs, so I kept it around and we'd even play it live occasionally. I think it fits in with these songs way better. [As for what "Tighter Noose" is about,] that song is one of those breaking-off-on-your-own- what-have-you-got-to-lose kind of things, because that was written sort of in the wake of when I was in The Eels. It wasn't a terribly happy situation, so I was like, well screw it, I'm just gonna go off and do my own thing. And then it's sort of like, well, you know: "I'm gonna go start my own thing. Uh, I have to learn to sing and write songs now." [Laughs] It's kinda funny: "Screw you guys! I'm gonna go get a deal!" And then like, "Uh oh." But really, I'm a firm believer in that [idea that] you just gotta go for it. And so it was like, well, this is gonna be difficult, but it's gonna be better than what I had before. And actually, with some distance on that situation, I realized I made the right decision and made a lot more money and was a lot more happy as a result. So that was sort of a leap of faith, you know. I didn't want to be someone's stupid bass player. Now I'm my own stupid bass player.
WAITING TO PANIC TW: There was a lull between record companies. The first record [Humanistic] was on Extasy - I don't know if you know about that company, but we were basically the poster-child for the implosion of an indie label. I came off the road in 2002, the label's folding, and I'm like, well, I'm just gonna go back and give this my best shot and we'll get another deal. It seemed highly unlikely, but we ended up doing it. And there was just a lull in there where nobody was interested. I had attorneys not returning my phone calls - that kinda stuff. It felt like, I'm just waiting around and I'm really anxious. So that was a song of frustration that was written and demoed all in one day - it was a song that just came out of me in like eight hours. We also put an EP out [The Reverb EP] and on the EP is the version of that demo that I did in one day. It doesn't happen [like that] very often. Usually I build bed tracks and come back to it a few weeks later and add something, and then come back a couple of days later. This one was all in one shot.
HUNTING TW: My friend Ross Golan, who has his own band Ross Golan and Molehead, had been following the wake of the relationship. He's like, "You just gotta write her a song and use her name." And I'm like, nah, nah, it's not covered enough. And he's like, "No, just do it. Go for it." So I did. I wrote this song and I wrote it for her for her birthday and I used her name, which is in the first lyric of the song, which is "Ginny." So I just went for it and wrote it. It was basically a birthday gift, and it was basically saying, like, you know, "Oops!" [Laughs] It didn't get me very far, but I like the song. We're friends, she's a good girl, absolutely, but back at that time, it was kinda like, "Erraaghhh! Here's a song!" But I like the song and I just think it was one of those times where I was really putting myself out there, and I know she liked it, too. But then, I think that's a myth where you just write a song and all of a sudden the girl just says, "Oh! Okay!" But, you know, hey. There it is. It's on the record.
That's the romantic notion of how they'll react to the song, at least.
TW: Exactly. And I'm really glad we're past that whole ironic phase, which I was part of with The Eels, where everything was super ironic and we'd play "The Macarena" on stage - [sarcastically] and that was funny! I'm glad we're through all that stuff, even though I was still a Beck fan when he was doing all that stuff, too. But I like being sincere and sappy and romantic. I kinda think that's a great thing.
ARMED TO THE TEETH TW: This is one of the first songs written when we came off the road and I had a lot of momentum. If you look at the state of the industry you can see a lot of corporations that seem to have to buy everything in sight. They just have to own everything, and to what purpose? Does it really make the industry much better? No. There's fewer outlets, there's a lot more gatekeepers. They want to buy stuff and it just kinda makes things bad for everybody. All the radio stations play the same shit - except for Indie 103.1 and KCRW in L.A. In spite of it all, I'm just gonna try to do my best and have a career anyway. When we came off the road I felt like I had a lot of momentum. Performing live is inspiring to writing, so it was just the whole idea of, "Alright, now that I have one record under my belt, I'm gonna really go for it in spite of all the forces that be." Even though they're pretty much indifferent to us, [laughs] their actions do affect us. It's sort of a song of bravado.
Why did you also choose "Armed To The Teeth" as the name of the album, too, which, in turn, implies it as the overall theme?
TW: Yeah, which is funny, since I kinda decided on that theme early on, thinking I was gonna go in a certain way, but then, like I said, two-thirds of the record is love songs. So "Armed To The Teeth" doesn't really fit in a certain way, but I also liked it just because [of] that idea of, like, now I'm really ready to make a record, and also I think it reflects the state of the country a little bit. Everything's a little bit aggressive, we're at war, and I thought it was sort of timely in that way
SOONER OR LATER TW: "Sooner Or Later" is another one of those tracks that was written after we got signed, so it's a newer song. I mentioned that sort of double time drum loop thing with "Lethal Killers" - this is the same thing. It's a half time drum loop that I nudged in one direction and then put in another track and nudge it in the other, then "boom," it's double time. And I like that, it's a good effect. It really sets up this kind of overlapping, rolling sound that a real drummer can't do. And things flam a little bit, and I really like that feel, so this song was constructed in the same manner where you have a rolling drum loop and then you put over a couple of guitar parts here and there and all of a sudden you got a song - I think this song is over six minutes. This is, um, I guess it's a couple things. Lyrically, it's sort of saying, like, whatever you do or whatever you say, there's no point in hiding anything because it all comes out in the end - which is the tagline in the chorus. There's no hiding. And in the verse it says, "Sooner or later / It's all coming down." In some way or another, whether you acknowledge it or if it just eats at your self, you can't really get away with anything. It's sort of fatalistic that way, but also in terms of, like, seeing how I also look at as a bigger picture of, like, politically, and since we're at war right now, it seems like things are getting a little scary. And that's kind of like one of those doomsday scenarios. If you look around a little you can really freak yourself out if you're reading about, like, bio-warfare and things like that. So a lot of this talk about "smoking gun in the shape of a mushroom cloud" and all that, it sort of brought up for me a lot of doomsday scenarios. So it's two-fold: it's that doomsday scenario, in terms of as far as the world is concerned, and then, personally, if you do stupid shit then you're eventually gonna pay for it somehow.
SAILING SEAS TW: Like "Hunting," this is probably the most direct, out-there storytelling song. Instead of using her [real] name, it's switched to "Holly," which is in the chorus. So it's another one of those songs talking straight to somebody. And there's a lot of details in there that I wouldn't talk about in normal conversation. That's the funny thing about songwriting where I wouldn't talk about this, but then I can put it in this song and you can still hear it and you still understand, but it's sort of masked a little bit. It's presented in a certain way where it's somehow okay to say that when you're in a major key or something. Because like, the second verse is about pretending you're outside a room listening to somebody [you love] have sex [with someone else], and that's a situation to put yourself into to really torture yourself. I created this scenario in my head and I put it in a song, and it's kinda brutal, but the [beat of the] song is upbeat and happy.
RENEGADE TW: This is a sample-based type song [with] drum loops. The cello was originally a Bjork sample and we replaced it. This one is sort of hard to explain. To me it’s just sort of like just a creation, because some of the record is social commentary, and I think there's a lot of that in this song, and it's like little snippets and ideas, and not necessarily one unifying idea. I think it's just kind of a song based on looking around and taking stock of things. This song in particular isn't really even about anything. It's just, like, observations, pretty much. And, oh, by the way, Billy Howerdel, the guitarist from A Perfect Circle, is playing guitar on that song. He jumped on that track and he's the one that makes it sound scary.
MAYBE THEN SOMEDAY TW: That was one of the first songs written in the wake of the breakup. It was one of those kind of "well-it-just-didn't-work-out-but-maybe-one-day-we'll-see-what-happens" kind of things. Because the circumstances are such that it wasn't gonna happen immediately so I was kinda like, well, we'll see. I don't have much to say about that; it's just grouped in with "songs about her."
GOODBYE SONG TW: That was also written when there was not a lot going on for me and we hadn't really nailed down the record deal. She [Tommy's ex-girlfriend] always thought she was bad luck - she'd show up and bad things would start happening - so she thought it was her fault that I hadn't got a deal. She actually moved away and soon as she did, we got a deal. [Laughs] I think it's funny to sort of say, like the first line of the song is "I'm not washed up / And you're not bad luck for anyone," so, you know, get off the ledge, really. And it's just one of those things; it's one of those yearning songs. I think with a lot of those songs there's a certain amount of effort spent on presenting evidence, like, "Look, I know this is how you feel, but look at all the other stuff." It's almost like making a case for your self [in a song]. And like I said, it didn't get me far, but it's still a good venting process. And I sort of realize when I say things like, "I wrote this for her" or whatever, it's not really for her. It's more self-indulgent to get this stuff out. And in a way you're saying, "Yeah, I wrote this song for you," but no, you wrote it for yourself so you could say things that you felt like saying. So I realize that and I think I realized that while I was writing them, but my job is to write songs so you take from what's around you to make it happen.

Key Takeaways:

What is Batana Oil?

Batana Oil, also known as Miskito Oil, is a natural oil derived from the nuts of the American palm tree, Elaeis Oleifera, native to Central America, particularly Honduras. It has been traditionally used by the Miskito people for its therapeutic properties in promoting hair and skin health.
For centuries, the Miskito people have treasured Batana Oil for its deeply rooted cultural significance. This ancestral knowledge and tradition have been passed down through generations, highlighting the deep connection between the people and this natural remedy. The process of extracting the oil is a meticulous craft, involving traditional methods that honor the palm tree's natural gifts. The rich nutrients present in Batana Oil make it a versatile elixir for skin rejuvenation and hair nourishment. Its moisturizing properties are renowned for promoting healthy hair growth and providing a radiant complexion.

How is Batana Oil Made?

Batana Oil is extracted through a cold pressing technique from the nuts of the American palm tree, Elaeis Oleifera, to preserve its nutrients and natural properties. This traditional method of oil extraction ensures the oil retains its therapeutic benefits.
The process of making Batana Oil through cold pressing involves carefully selecting ripe Elaeis Oleifera nuts, which are then cracked open to reveal the kernels inside. These kernels are sun-dried before being cold pressed to extract the precious oil, ensuring that the nutrients and therapeutic properties are well-preserved. This method, commonly practiced in Central America, where the American palm tree is prevalent, is known for producing high-quality oil rich in nutrients essential for nourishing and rejuvenating the skin and hair.

What are the Benefits of Batana Oil?

Batana Oil offers numerous benefits for hair and scalp health, including promoting hair growth, nourishing the scalp with essential fatty acids like omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9, providing antioxidants for hair health, and adding shine to hair affected by environmental influences.
Originating from the lush Mediterranean region, Batana Oil has been used for centuries as a holistic solution for maintaining healthy and vibrant hair. Its natural composition not only accelerates hair growth but also aids in deeply penetrating the scalp to nourish and rejuvenate hair follicles.

Promotes Hair Growth

Batana Oil stimulates hair growth by nourishing the follicles and roots with essential nutrients, promoting stronger and healthier hair growth.
One of the key factors that make Batana Oil effective for hair growth is its ability to deeply penetrate the hair follicles and strengthen the roots. This process not only encourages faster hair growth but also helps prevent hair breakage and split ends. By delivering essential nutrients such as Vitamin E, Omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants directly to the hair follicles, Batana Oil revitalizes the scalp, creating an optimal environment for hair growth to thrive.

Moisturizes and Nourishes Hair

Batana Oil serves as an excellent moisturizer that deeply nourishes the hair, providing essential hydration and combating frizziness. It acts as a natural conditioning oil for smoother and healthier hair.
The unique composition of Batana Oil allows it to penetrate deeply into the hair shaft, delivering nutrients that strengthen and repair damaged strands. This botanical oil is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, which help to restore the hair's natural shine and vitality.
Regular use of Batana Oil can improve the overall health of your hair, making it more manageable and less prone to breakage. Whether you have dry, brittle hair or just need a boost of moisture, this oil is a versatile solution for all your hair care needs.

Reduces Dandruff and Scalp Irritation

Batana Oil aids in reducing dandruff and scalp irritation by restoring the scalp's microbial balance, offering therapeutic benefits for scalp health.
When the scalp's natural microbial balance is disrupted, issues like dandruff and irritation can arise. Batana Oil's unique properties help in rebalancing these microorganisms, thus calming the scalp and reducing discomfort. Its therapeutic uses extend beyond mere symptom relief, as the oil's nourishing components penetrate deep into the skin, enriching it with essential nutrients for long-lasting health. By incorporating Batana Oil into your hair care routine, you are not just tackling the visible signs of scalp issues but also nurturing and maintaining a harmonious environment on your scalp.

The rich nutrients and essential fatty acids present in Batana Oil deeply penetrate the hair shaft, nourishing and hydrating from within. This helps in sealing the damaged cuticles, preventing further breakage and split ends. The oil's antioxidant properties combat the harmful effects of free radicals present in the environment, which often lead to hair damage. Regular use of Batana Oil can help in revitalizing and rejuvenating hair, making it stronger, healthier, and more resilient to external aggressors.

What are the Side Effects of Batana Oil?

While Batana Oil offers numerous benefits, some individuals may experience side effects such as allergic reactions, particularly those with hereditary hair loss concerns. Proper skin care is essential when using this oil.

Individuals with hereditary hair loss should consult their dermatologist before incorporating Batana Oil into their hair care routine.

These reactions are typically more common in individuals with sensitive skin or existing allergies. The patch test helps in identifying any adverse responses before widespread application, ensuring safety.

Despite the potential for allergic reactions, Batana Oil also offers numerous therapeutic benefits, including promoting hair growth, reducing inflammation, and improving overall scalp health.

Greasiness and Build-up

Excessive use of Batana Oil may lead to greasiness and build-up on the scalp, potentially causing irritation and other hair problems. It is advisable to use the oil in moderation.
While Batana Oil holds numerous benefits for hair, including nourishment and hydration, excessive application can have adverse effects. The build-up of oil on the scalp can clog pores, leading to scalp irritation and even hair loss over time. This greasiness not only makes the hair appear unwashed but also attracts dirt and pollutants, further exacerbating the situation.
To prevent these issues, it is crucial to strike a balance in the usage of Batana Oil, ensuring that it benefits the hair without causing any harm.

How to Use Batana Oil?

Batana Oil can be used in various ways for optimal results. It can be applied as a nourishing hair mask, a leave-in treatment for added hydration, or as a pre-shampoo treatment to protect the hair's natural nutrients.
When using Batana Oil as a hair mask, it provides deep conditioning benefits, revitalizing dry and damaged hair, leaving it soft and manageable. As a leave-in treatment, Batana Oil helps to lock in moisture, tame frizz, and promote healthy shine. Alternatively, incorporating Batana Oil into your hair care routine as a pre-shampoo treatment creates a protective barrier against the harsh effects of shampooing, ensuring that the hair retains its essential nutrients.

After application, leave the oil on for at least 30 minutes to allow it to penetrate the hair shaft and nourish deeply. For enhanced effectiveness, you can wrap your hair in a warm towel or use a shower cap to create heat and enhance absorption.
Rinsing off the Batana Oil hair mask with a gentle shampoo and conditioner will leave your hair feeling soft, silky, and deeply moisturized.

As a Leave-in Treatment

Using Batana Oil as a leave-in treatment enhances hair health by providing continuous nourishment, promoting shine, and protecting hair from environmental influences.

2024.05.19 08:55 cosmic_cat_brain Anyone else not bothering with the glitch mask?

I'm sure you know by now, but for Minecrafts 15th anniversary Mojang is giving out several promotional in-game cosmetics. This includes the 15th anniversary cape, the purple heart cape, the tiktok cape, the glitch mask, and 15 clothing items for bedrock to be released over a 15 day period.
I myself have claimed all the capes and the first 4 days of the bedrock items, but I'm not going to bother trying to get the glitch mask. In order to get it you have to pay to sub to a minecraft creator's twitch stream. Where I live the minimum amount of money that will cost is $4.99. I just don't spend money on microtransactions as a matter of principle as I feel it's a slippery slope so I will not be buying it. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

2024.05.19 08:12 Leonie1988 Prendergast live, Judy and Barbra Streisand

Prendergast live, Judy and Barbra Streisand
Prendergast did an Instagram live before and after the 6th episode (I think), that Judys character was inspired by Barbra Streisands character Judy Maxwell from "What's Up, Doc?". In the movie Judy is causing havoc, but is a good person and ends up with the male lead. She also sneaks into an empty hotel room without paying (like Judy living in the empty floor). Another interesting detail is, that she is the daughter of the judge who has to clean up some of the mess that was caused in the film. I find this interesting and it could give us an inside into what might've happened with her character in season 3. Also that white outfit is exactly what Judy wore on her date with Todd! Any thoughts?

2024.05.19 06:10 Minute_Economics_550 I accidentally saw his social media

My abuser had a complete meltdown a month ago and I felt forced to call the police. I had been asking him to leave for months because he was refusing to get help for his declining mental state and addictions, but he refused to leave. As I'm sure you all understand, I love him and wanted him to get help so that we could be happy, despite how unrealistic that hope might have been. I only called the police because I was scared for my life and his.
He was arrested and I got a protection order. He had a gun that he had hidden from me. I've discovered so many other lies since then. I've realized he was just using me. It has been incredibly painful and I wish I could turn off my heart while I heal. I understand trauma bonds. I hate that I want him to reach out and make promises I know he won't keep. But I've been doing my best to focus on myself and my healing, through therapy and music and meditation and now medication. I cry every day. Sometimes all day. I am failing at my job. He traumatized me and he traumatized my dogs. And I still miss him so much. I haven't reached out and I won't. But if he reached out to me I don't think I would have the strength to not respond. He told the court he is in therapy now and "looking into" AA and NA. The court ordered a mental health evaluation but he only has to do it if he doesn't want me to be able to renew the protection order in 5 years. I know he will do none of these things.
I heard recently that he lost his shit at work. In a way this was helpful to me because it felt validating, for other people to see the mask slip. His job is his whole identity right now. I also was told that he bought a brand new car, a sports car of every teenage boy's dreams. I felt disgusted by this because he has no money, is living with his mom, and the only message he asked her to pass along to me after his arrest was to ask if I would pay for him to get his own place. I didn't respond. She's an enabler and knew he had a gun for 3 years and never told me. She's planning to buy him an rv. He can't afford that car. And now with his outburst at work he will probably be fired.
Today an acquaintance apparently got him as a suggested friend on Facebook and she sent me screenshots of his page, including one of him showing off the car. He has a new profile photo, he's smiling and handsome. His profile used to be him and my dog. I know it is a facade. He had 24 likes and 24 comments on the post of his car. I want to know who commented and I also really don't. He had told me he wasn't using social media anymore. Another lie.
I'm sure he's talking to girls about his car. I'm sure people think he's a good person because of where he works. And I'm just sitting here crying and needing to throw up. I did not want to see his social media. I was doing well and now I'm back to square one, I can't stop seeing the photos in my mind.
I hate everything about this and that abusive people just go on with life like this didn't fucking happen while we're left with so much trauma and confusion and pain and love and stupid hope.
