  4. Present: Make sure to check this when it has a number. Items obtained from log-in and missions will end up here. You need to press accept to obtain the items in the present.
  5. Home: Home screen
  6. Idol: Beginners will use mostly the top 4 buttons
(Idol Set up): Change your units/teams and change your room/home screen idols.
(Lesson): Level up your idol cards. For beginners, only use Normal(N) idols, Rookie Trainer Tickets, and (regular) Trainer Tickets as fodder for Lessons. This is the only place to level up cards (they don't level up when playing songs). Used up fodder disappears so be careful not to use important cards as fodder.
    3. 特訓(Training): Rank up your idol cards to their +(plus) form. You will need enough Affection (usually obtained through playing songs with that idol in the unit) and training items.
(Star Lesson): Raise your idol cards star rank. You will need to combine multiple of the same exact card to raise star rank(the +(plus) form counts as same card). Similar to Lesson, the fodder used will disappear so be wary.
  7. Commu: Small skits, voice packs that you can listen to. Completing each Commu will usually award you with Star Jewels. Currently(3/11), there are 2 Suisei related Commus available to listen to
(Idol Commu): Obtained after Training Suisei(R)
(Extra Commu): Introductory commu that played once logging in.
  8. Live: Play songs, listen to MVs. Most people play in the BASIC mode. Completing any of the 4 difficulties will unlock MV.
    1. オートLIVE (Auto Live) Toggle in bottom-right allows you to complete song with all Perfect. It doesn't unlock achievements, reduced rewards, and requires Auto Live Tickets (get 10 daily) or coins.
(Rehearsal) Toggle in bottom-right allows you to practice songs without using stamina.
  9. Room: Customize the office with small items and up to 5 chibi idols that may interact with the room items. See below for buying room items.
  10. Business: Side quests that idols can do behind-the-scene. It doesn't take up stamina (unless you want to speed it up) so I recommend using this to get training items. One note is that there's a one-time only Special Business that will give you (a lot of) PLv (and will restore your stamina) so plan wisely when doing that business.
  11. Gacha: place to roll gacha to obtain more idol cards. Currently(3/11), no info about the Suisei SSR gacha. (Local Audition) Gacha can be rolled with Friendship points to get more copies of Suisei(R). From 3/23 15:00 Japan Time, the collab gacha featuring SSR Suisei will begin. You can use the Suisei Gacha Tickets with this collab gacha.
  12. Menu: The main buttons I use are (AniPuchi). There also some customization options through (Home screen layout).

2023.10.31 23:34 5e1y I May have found the Curve to get the COLOR CHROME effect in RAW

I May have found the Curve to get the COLOR CHROME effect in RAW
Hi guys,
I have spent the last week editing some RAW Fuji photos, my goal was to replicate the aspect of the KODAK GOLD 200 Film stock, it's a tricky film stock because the highlights are very desaturated and the more you go in the shadows the more the colors pop. This is very similar to the Color Chrome Effect in the JPEG Fuji Presets. I searched everywhere today and nobody seems to care enough to really try and find an easy and fast secret sauce so I came up with my own.

DISCLAIMER : Please consider this thread as a community effort to finally nail a qwick and easy way to replicate the Color Chrome Effect from Fujifilm Camera JPEGs. By no means I claim to have the perfect anwser, it's just us fuji lovers trying to cheat our way around this anoying "JPEG or RAW ?" limitation :)) Anyway, it's free, so enjoy. I would be happy to see how it turns up in your photos if you use it !

TUTORIAL & PRESETS

Here's the presets, for capture one
https://spaces.hightail.com/space/Pg4E7XcrOE
Here's what it does:
  • Saturates shadows
  • Desaturates Highlights
  • Enhance the contrast in between Lower shadows and upper shadows
  • Enhance the contrast in between Lower Highlights and upper Highlights
  • Enhance the Reds and decrease the Greens and Blues
  • In the case of Chrome Blue FX : it decrease Blues luma and push the saturation to mimic the effect

Here are exemples with the Color Chrome effect ONLY, the next step would be to make your own film emulation by editing the picture further with this effect as a base.

Color Chrome STRONG
Please notice that the highlights are unaffected. In normal saturation manipulation, every highlight that is slightly yellow or any other color would saturate and become unusable. Notice the deeper Reds, but notice also the new colors that have apeared in the Dark grey shape. But mainly, did you see it yet ? the contrast and high dynamic range hasn't been altered by the effect, even though, the whole picture seems more puchy.

Color Chrome STRONG + Blue FX STRONG
Notice the subtle enhancement of the Reds, the darker blue. Note that this photo was shot with a low diffusion filter so in your case the contrast may go up.

ORIGINAL POST:

These two curves are in capture one, but you can do the same in any other editing software.
- The RVB Saturates but also darken the shadows and desaturates the highlights but bring them down. - The Luma bring up the newly saturated shadows and bring up the newly desaturated highlights.
I've tested it a little and it's different from the saturation/Clarity/Contrast tools
You can create a new editing layer (in capture one) so you can apply the effect without disturbing the grading you've already done in the curves

But don't forget ! the whole point of this is just to preserve the highlights from the saturation boost it gives, the rest of the grading is up to you :))

RVB Curve (over exagerate it to see real difference)

Luma Curve (mimic the RVB curve but mirrored)

Please can some of you can test it out and tell me if it's Sh$# or not :)
anyway, have a great day!

Here's the effect udilized in a film emulation preset :
https://cdn.knightlab.com/libs/juxtapose/latest/embed/index.html?uid=ef2926a4-7854-11ee-b5be-6595d9b17862
Notice how both sides are highlights, so they aren't affected by the effect, but notice how the mid tones are deeper and seems more rich in colours.

EDIT : I came up with this to saturate shadows only, so you still have to colorgrade the picture to desaturate Greens, blues and saturate the reds and oranges, but It helped me working on my GOLD 200 Preset

2023.09.02 16:55 Insanekitten [SALE] Massive Decade Old Collection of Scaled Anime Figures, Figmas & Nendoroids

Picture Verification: https://imgur.com/gallery/P6pJWo4

Leave me a reply here, and I'll get back to you. You can also hit me up on Discord as well: Insanekitten#4642. I do find it easier to talk there, but also leave a reply here as well if you do message me.

I was an active anime collector a decade ago but I’m realizing now I just don’t really have the space to display a good portion of my collection, and most of these have just remained in storage all this time. So I’ve decided it’s probably about time to really pare down my collection and let these go to a loving home where they will be better appreciated. I stopped actively buying stuff around 2013, so you will notice I have mostly older figures that released around that time or earlier.

Happy to take more photos and provide more details if you are interested in specific figure(s), just ask. I accept Paypal G&S. I am open to trades and best offers.

Figures come from a smoke-free and cat-friendly home and are being shipped out from Canada, BC, Vancouver. I will calculate shipping using either Canada Post or USPS, whichever works out to be the best option, and I will give buyers a range when possible. I am happy to combine shipping and ship worldwide. I am also willing to arrange for free pickups if you are in the Lower Mainland.

I use recycled materials, so basically I reuse Amazon boxes, or whatever I have on hand. I will ensure the boxes are sturdy and well packed. I can also buy new shipping materials to ship figures at buyer’s expense if the buyer prefers.

MIB = Mint In Box, has never been opened, seal is intact, and box is in mint condition.

2023.09.02 16:44 Insanekitten [SALE] Massive Decade Old Collection of Scaled Anime Figures, Figmas & Nendoroids

Picture Verification: https://imgur.com/gallery/P6pJWo4

CIB = Complete in Box, all parts are included, has been opened. Most boxes are in near mint condition.

2023.04.12 19:34 pinkpiddypaws Trip Report: March 16 - April 04

Long post ahead!
Towns:
Tokyo – 11 days Kyoto – 4 days Osaka – day trip Nara - 1/2 day trip Nagano – day trip Yokohama – day trip

We (F 52, M 45) were finally able to fly to Japan! In March of 2020, 2 days before our flight was supposed to leave the US, Japan closed its borders due to COVID. We optimistically rebooked for 2021. Then rebooked for 2022. Lol – who knew it would take three long years to make it happen? We are a fairly well traveled couple (Europe, Australia, Caribbean) from Arkansas. (Shocking, right?)
Super HUGE shout out to this business “Studio Muscat” --We originally had tattoo appointments scheduled with Studio Muscat for March 2020. We had even paid over a $1000 USD in deposits. David, the shop person we were emailing with, was amazing. Despite it taking 3 years, they honored our deposit, and we finally got our tattoos on March 31, 2023. 😊
On to the trip report: Arrived from Dallas, TX to Haneda airport around 3:20 pm. Breezed through the airport quarantine, security, customs, immigration because we had both done our “Visit Japan Web” information and had all our screenshots ready. It did feel a bit like cattle being herded as we walked and walked and walked through the airport. SO many workers with the same job – pointing us in the right direction. We kept our phones on and the screenshots up so the workers could, at a glance, easily motion us in the right direction.
I had downloaded Ubigi on my phone before we left (we are both Android users – which Japan doesn’t seem to think exists. (haha) I’m a Pokemon Go player so I wanted the extra data and service! I was able to switch to the eSim upon landing, which was super easy and definitely helpful. Husband had to rely on the airport wifi which wasn’t the fastest (not surprising though given how many people were in the airport)
Based on a recommendation from this sub (from travelers about our same age), we had booked a car service through Klook to take us from the airport to our hotel in Asakusa. Messaging occurred via WhatsApp. They let us know where to meet the driver, even sending a picture of the spot to meet. Cost was 6400 yen. Super reasonable to us because we wouldn’t have to deal with our luggage on trains at near rush hour time.
Arrived at the Asakusa Tobu Hotel around 6 pm’ish. Check in was super easy and our pocket wi-fi was waiting for us (ordered from Japan Wireless in advance). We had booked a Twin B room (21.0 m2) for the duration of our trip so it would be a “home base” for us. Many thanks to Chase Sapphire travel reward points! The beds were pushed together so it was like having a king size bed. AND they were high enough off the ground we could easily stuff our suitcases underneath. We both had a carry-on and a checked bag. Plus, our backpacks. This made a HUGE difference in space in the room. I’m not sure if the hotel did this on purpose, but they put us on the 11th floor, which also happened to be one of the floors with laundry machines. We used those several times! Please note (US travelers mostly) that the machines aren’t kidding about capacity. Unlike the huge washer / dryers we have in the US, these small combo (wash/dry in the same machine) units aren’t meant for big loads. So, plan on multiple small loads, as needed. Especially if you have jeans with you! Jeans are basically a load, all unto themselves. These machines took 100 yen coins OR you could tap your IC card, which was cool.
I cannot praise the Asakusa Tobu Hotel enough. The staff were incredible, and the location was perfect for us. The Ginza line was literally across the street. The Asakusa line was a 3-minute walk down the street.
Dinner that night was from the 7-11 which was practically next door. There was also an Ichiran next door, which became a source of amusement for us. We would take bets on how long the lines would be. We had been looking forward to the konbini’s! Hubs was especially excited to try spicy fami chicki. HA And then it was crash and crash hard. Stupid jet lag. (Note – for all the hate Ichiran gets on this sub – it was still FAR superior to any ramen we had ever gotten in Arkansas!!)
I won’t go into a day-by-day b/c it would be too much.Instead, here is the obligatory photo link and some highlights! 😊

My interests – Temples and collecting goshuin. Anime: SpyXFamily, Ten Sura (Slime) related items, Shiba café, cat cafes, Ghibli, Starbucks Reserve Roastery, Ramen, and Sakura. Lots and lots of Sakura!
*Goshuin. Thanks to an old goshuin post from u/himekat, I had a TON of temple recommendations. I managed to fill up five (5) goshuin books and acquired a mini goshuin book with some amazing, tiny images.
The best temple experience, without a doubt, was at Butsugan-ji in Tokyo. It truly is a teeny, tiny hole in the wall temple. But after steeling my courage and ringing the door buzzer I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the temple priestess, Yamamoto. She invited me in, taught me the shrine chant, prayed with me, and then proceeded to visit for a solid ½ hour. Her practicing her English and me practicing my Japanese. And despite its tiny appearance, the sheer volume of goshuin available was overwhelming. I would have gotten every single one of them if I hadn’t though it would be incredible rude (especially since Yamamoto was doing them by hand).
I absolutely loved the experience of visiting so many shrines and temples, making offerings, praying, and collecting the goshuin. It was soothing to my soul. Well… maybe not the super busy temples and shrines. Those were a little stressful, but the smaller ones on the list I had (and the random ones we found by complete accident) were priceless memories.
We got lost wandering around the Kyoto Imperial Palace and happened to find the Goou Jinja Shrine – commonly known as the “Boar Shrine”. Since my zodiac is the boar, I thought it was quite a fortuitous find!
While in Kyoto was also had a lovely experience with a woman outside a stationary store in an off-beat area. As we were leaving, she insisted we come back so she could buy us something. That’s when I learned about “omiyage”. She didn’t speak English but she kept saying this word and Google did the rest. What a wonderful moment as this complete stranger insisted on gifting us these cute little paper lanterns from the store.

*Our Ghibli Museum tickets were acquired via Viator (local booker was Japan Awaits). All the confirmation emails said the tickets would be sent to our hotel in advance. But they weren’t there when we arrived. It took some time to get this sorted out with the vendor. Messaging with Viator who sent the same things I had already filled out for Japan Awaits. Eventually, our tickets DID arrive at the hotel though. So, if you buy your Ghibli tickets through them, just keep this in mind. And, honestly, doing it this was still way easier than trying to get them through Ghibli via their online portal.

*Starbucks Reserve Roastery – Be there before they open. Seriously. It’s an “assigned entry time” system based on when you arrive and how many are ahead of you. We went around 10 am one morning thinking we’d get tickets for an hour or so later. NOPE –3-4 hour wait. Granted, this was also peak cherry blossom viewing time on the river. We planned to be there by 6:30 am one morning (opens at 7). Even then, our entry time was 7:30. As many others have said, there is limited seating so it’s good to scope out your seats first. BUT that shouldn’t mean “throw your crap on a table and leave!!!!” Which is what everyone was doing. It was super frustrating. There were tables “taken” by people’s crap that I never saw anyone sitting at the entire 2 hours we were there. Go up to the 3rd floor and talk to the hostess at the door of the outdoor balcony. Ask for seating. If you are lucky enough to get a spot, they will seat you there on the 3rd floor OR give you a ticket for the 4th floor balcony. NOTE – the time on the ticket actually means “until ___ time”. Our ticket said ~9 am. We thought this meant we went at 9 am. NOPE – it meant we had a table on the 4th floor UNTIL 9 am. Lucky for us, the hostess noticed us waiting around and pointed this out. We still managed to get in 30 minutes on the balcony. 😊
TIP: the food was kind of “meh” but it was fun to try the different specialty Sakura items. The coffee and tea items were neat b/c you can’t get them anywhere else. It’s more about the experience than the taste.
Funny side note – I saw a Vlogger I’ve been following for a while (for their Japan content and cute Shiba Inu) on the 3rd floor balcony. They were clearly doing a video and I was highly amused to see it posted later that week. So yeah, if you follow any Vlogger’s there is a good chance you might run into one there! (Looking at you Kim Dao!) haha

*MameShibe Café Asakusa – Another “line up before they open” to get your entry time ticket experience. It’s not so much a café as it is a big room with the Shiba’s running around. There are drinks available, but I didn’t see anyone bother with them. Your timed ticket gets you 30 minutes with the doggos and the staff does a great job of rotating people in and out of the space. I even saw them rotate dogs in and out of the room, which was interesting. If you like Shiba’s you know they are likely to ignore you more than anything else. But I noticed some folks brought in blankets and put them in their laps. Some of the dogs loved this and would curl up in their lap (legs outstretched but toes touching to create a space for them). I was super jealous of these people because I didn’t have a blanket! But the staff are attentive to this and if they see someone isn’t getting to interact, they will try to help. One nice staffer brought over a chew toy to me and coaxed a Shiba to hang out with me that way. They dogs are clearly well taken care of and, consequently, a bit attached to the staff members. Haha I got some great video and pictures but it’s not a “cuddle a dog” experience for the most part. You just have to accept that possibility going in.
TIP – there is another dog café on the opposite side of the street to MameShibe called Rio. Husband and I weren’t paying attention the first time and went to that café by accident. I say accident but it was a happy accident. They didn’t have any Shiba’s but had plenty of other dogs (Frenchie, Bichon, Mini-Schnauzer, Cocker Spaniel, Dachshund, etc.) who were way more friendly and playful and happy to hang out with you! Yes, buying food also helps. But watch out, the Frenchie is a hog and will knock the food out of your hand if you don’t watch him. 😊

***Cat Café’s -**We went to two! PuchiMarry in Kyoto & Cat Café Monta in Asakusa.
Hands down PuchiMarry was our favorite. The kitties were friendly, the space was large with plenty of ways to interact with the cats. There seemed to be a wide range of ages in the cats. Some were super laid back and some were rambunctious kittens. They played and chased and ran around with the zoomies. It was hilarious.
Monta was… different. The cats were reserved. They didn’t mind getting petted, but they didn’t seek it out in the slightest. And it was clear they were super attached to the man who was working there. It almost felt like this was his home and his cats and he was paying the bills by letting strangers sit into his living room. It wasn’t a bad experience and I understand the food and drink options are terrific (we didn’t partake). But there was little interaction with the cats themselves.

Husbands’ interests: Gundam, Sumo, Snow Monkeys, TeamLab Planets, Ramen, Evangelion.
*We had tickets for TeamLab Planets the day after arriving in Tokyo. Odaiba is quite the train ride from Asakusa! Luck for me, my husband has an uncanny knack for navigating – on foot, subway, trains, etc. We were up bright and early (again, thanks jetlag) but it gave us plenty of time to get to the area. As someone who isn’t the most stable on both feet (ha) I would say the beanbag section of TeamLabs was my least favorite. It was like walking through quicksand. And while I loved the water room with the lights, the band aids floating in the warm water was super gross. The flower room was amazing, but they run you in and out quickly. Husband enjoyed Planets but he had truly wanted to go to Borderless and was super sad they had closed it before we were able to travel to Japan.
We did see the Unicorn Gundam do it’s thing at 5 pm which was super cool!

*The Gundam Base Store in Odaiba– Be there before it opens. Husband was SO hyped to get some cool, exclusive Gundam but we went after TeamLab and by that point a lot of the exclusives were sold out. But they stock overnight! He went again later in our trip and was 2nd in line before opening. He bought so many we had to buy a full-size suitcase to transport them home. 😊
TIP: Show up first thing and wait in line for the store to open to get the super cool stuff.

*Sumo Tournament in Osaka – We managed to get tickets for the ongoing sumo tournament in Osaka. It was towards the end of the tourney. Ordered the tickets on the sumo.pia.jp website. Picking up the tickets at Lawson’s was easy. Showed the clerk my email and they punched in the confirmation number – poof.. tickets printed! We had chair seats which worked out great. I wouldn’t have lasted in the box seats with no backrest. The hardest part was finding the seats! Let me tell you, based on how the stadium was numbered vs. the seat information – you’d have to be a crack code breaker to find it on your own. Luckily, there were plenty of event stewards around to help you find your seats! (We had a couple insist we were in their seats – turned out they did have the same seat numbers as us but on the opposite side of the gym!) Sumo is an experience! From the guy singing each wrestler’s name, to the salt they throw in the ring, to the judges getting tucked into their little black covered seats around the ring. 😊 We seemed to have a sumo super fan seated next to us. She had towels with her favorite wrestlers’ names printed on them. When that wrestler came out, she held up the towel and started screaming their name. At one point, a young couple came up and started talking to her and excitedly taking pictures with her. It was wild!
TIP– go to the tournament around 4 pm. This is when the event starts to get super exciting because the higher ranked wrestlers start coming out. The earlier matches are lower ranked. Still fun to watch but the place gets electric around 4 pm.

*Nagano Snow Monkeys (Shiga Kogen)– This is a bit of a trip to take. If you plan on being in Nagano more than 1 day, you can purchase a “two-day transport+ Snow Monkey Park” ticket in Nagano station. Otherwise, just follow the signs for the Snow Monkey bus stop and you can purchase your ticket there. The bus ride took about 45 minutes and then you have another 30–45-minute hike up the mountain.
TIP – When the bus drops you off it isn’t super clear where you are supposed to go. You’ll see a café/museum in front of you. Just start walking, keeping the café/museum to your right until you hit a road leading uphill. Then start walking uphill. You’ll encounter the last bathroom (on the right) until you get to the park. Take advantage of the potty break, trust me. The path is well marked after that. Wear good hiking shoes because it can get muddy and rocky. It’s part hill, part stairs all the way up and mostly unpaved. When we came back down, there were “shoe washing” stations set up at the restroom. It was a nice thing to scrub off all the mud and dirt from our shoes. Also, on your way down stop by the café/restaurant before the bottom of the hill and treat yourself to a hot apple pie and cup of fresh apple juice (hot or cold). It was a perfect snack before the long bus ride back to Nagano station.

*Yokohama Gundam Factory: Boy did we pick the wrong day to go to this place! We hadn’t looked but the site is on a pier on the water. And if the weather is bad, well… it was like walking through a typhoon trying to get to the site. Our poor umbrellas didn’t stand a chance. The store is also super small and there wasn’t anything there that you couldn’t also get at the Odaiba store. Despite the freezing, driving rain and hurricane like winds we braved the outside to watch the giant Gundam come to life. It’s a cool experience. Even in bad weather.

**RAMEN:*\* We were both excited to try different ramen shops.
*Best bowl of ramen? Misoya Ramen in Nagano. A few minutes’ walk from Nagano Station. It’s a miso-based broth and you can get noodles made from locally millstone ground wheat. I had the regular miso and hubs had the spicy. We both finished off our bowls. Absolutely delicious and zero wait (we often ate at odd times, which helped).
*Worst bowl of ramen? Yoroiya in Asakusa. Known for their shoyu ramen and double yolk eggs. The broth was WAY too fishy for me to enjoy. The restaurant uses niboshi in their broth and (at least for me) the fish flavor drowned out everything.
*Honorable mentions: Kagetsu Arashi – We found this spot while wandering near Gyoen Park in Shinjuku. Yes, I now realize it is a chain but dang if the Golden Miso Ramen wasn’t freaking delicious.
Ramen Takesaburō in Asakusa. Husband had the Burning Dragon (can you tell he likes spicy?) and loved it. I had a ramen with tons of garlic. Maybe just a wee bit too much garlic.
*Other places we went :Ramen Watanabe in Asakusa. I know it has a great reputation, but I found it to be “meh”. Ichiran in Asakusa – as I mentioned before, don’t hate on me for this because Ichiran is still better than any ramen we can get in Arkansas. 😊 We went twice b/c there was no wait and we were super tired so it was convenient (right next to our hotel).
*Place we wanted to go but ran out of time: Ikutaan Asakusa – we passed by here multiple times, and it always smelled delicious.
We tried going to the Ramen Museum in Yokohama and it was a disaster. 60–90-minute waits for every single shop. So, we noped on out of there. When we left the lines had only gotten longer.
Ramen tip – the most popular menu item is typically the top left button on the machine! Google translate will help you sort out the names but if you want to roll the dice, top left is your best bet.

*BIGGEST SURPRISE FOOD HITS OF THE TRIP? Fruit milk. “Fruits au lait” found at 7-11. Weirdly delicious. And especially great for soothing any spicy ramen burn (per my husband) We found a different version of this at Family Mart but never found it at Lawson.
Hot Yuzu Honey from a vending machine. Of course, I got a sinus infection 3 days after we landed (stupid pollen). This stuff was amazing for my sore throat. I liked the Minute Maid and Dydo versions. I found two other brands which weren’t as good. IMHO
Strawberry Yogurt Fanta – Hubs loved it. Me, not so much.
*NOT a HIT---Melon Shake. It was like liquid cantaloupe and soooo gross.
It was so much fun checking out all the vending machines and trying different things!

*MEDICATION/PHARMACY TIPS
Speaking of sinus infections. I always get one in March thanks to pollen, so I had packed a lot of medications from home. But I ran out before I was fully healthy and had to brave the Japanese Pharmacy. Google is your friend. Screenshot the pictures of the medications you need and look for them on the shelf OR show the clerk and they will help you find them. I found the Japanese medications to be less effective than ones from the US. But they still helped! It was interesting learning all the over-the-counter medications you can get in the US that are not allowed to be sold in Japan! Sudafed, I’m looking at you.
Funny story – I bought two meds. One for day and one for night. (again, thanks Google and this subreddit!) The pharmacy clerk looked at my purchases and then grabbed a little box. She spoke into it, then handed it to me to read. It said, “Do not take these at the same time.” I laughed and pointed at one box and said “Ohayō gozaimasu” then pointed at the other box and said, “Konbonwa” to indicate I understood. She burst into laughter and started nodding her head “yes” vigorously. Hey, even speaking limited Japanese, I was able to make my point. 😊
*HOTEL RECOMMENDATIONS:
Tokyo - Asakusa Tobu Hotel, twin b room.As previously stated this was a great hotel with super kind and helpful staff and in a terrific location. They also helped us transfer our luggage at the end of our trip via luggage forwarding. The amenities were great. Loved the bathroom soap, shampoo, conditioner. And the extras provided meant we really didn’t need to pack our own things (but we had). Toothbrush, toothpaste, q-tips, cotton pads, hair scrunchie, etc. Great big tub for soaking a weary body.
Kyoto – Cross Hotel, standard twin room.We LOVED this hotel. Not too far from a good subway line. Near a TON of good eateries. Right next to a cute Sakura lined stream that was illuminated in the evening. Super helpful staff. Great big tub AND – the bidet had warm water. Woooooo!!!
Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyo, deluxe twin room.Okay – I SHOULD have booked the Royal Park Hotel at the airport because it is at terminal 3 (International terminal) and the Excel is at terminal 2 (domestic). That being said, Excel was still a nice hotel. I was disappointed you had to walk through the bathroom to get to the toilet though and you had to turn on all the bathroom lights for the toilet light to work. Kind of rough when you get up to pee in the middle of the night. 😊
*NOT hotel recommendations:
Kyoto - Sakura Terrace, corner double room**.**This hotel looked good in the photos but wound up being a disappointment. Not in an area with a lot of food choices. The bathroom was all one unit and felt, almost, like it had been an add-on. There was a weird dip when you walked in and a feeling of instability in the flooring. The tub wasn’t good for soaking either. Which made me super sad. They did have an evening free cocktail thing that looked nice. And there was an onsen for men/women. BUT because tattoos were not allowed, neither of us could use it.
***JR PASS -**Rather than wait in line at the airport to get our JR Pass, we went to Ueno station and acquired it there. We weren’t activating it right away so this worked fine for us. We waited maybe 15 minutes? It was super easy and the folks there was great. They even booked our first train for us before we left.
**TIP-**If you want to book your own trains at the machine, you must pair the appropriate JR pass with each passenger and their passport. It was a DUH moment for me when I finally realized the JR Pass tickets had the last few digits of the person’s passport printed on them! This revelation made things much easier. Lol
Those darn tickets though… man was it a pain to keep track of them. Since you must always carry your passport with you, my solution was to tuck each ticket into the respective passport.

*RANDOM FOOD RECOMMENDATIONS
Coco Curry – everywhere Such a great place for a warm bowl of comforting Japanese curry. We wound up going twice.
Royal Host (thanks Martina from King Kogi) – all over After so many ramen carbs, we wanted something with MEAT and I remembered this recommendation from Martina. We both had the hamburg steak set. It was more expensive than I expected but it hit the spot. I wouldn’t eat there twice, but once for the experience was good. If you are wanting something which might feel more like US based foods, it’s a good spot to hit up.
Hoshino Coffee – Shibuya Who could pass up a good Eggslut Set for breakfast? 😊 Seriously though, the coffee was some of the best we had and the simple breakfast menu was appreciated.
DAVIDE Coffee Stop – Taito. What a great little random find. Teeny tiny space but one of the best lattes we had in Japan.
February Café – Asakusa. I wouldn’t wait to eat here but if you get there early and can walk right in it’s totally worth it. Tasty lattes and breakfast options. Husband had the croque monsieur and loved it.
7-11 – Cold Ramen with Steamed Chicken & Seasame Sauce. OH MY GOSH. On late nights when we didn’t feel like going back out to a restaurant, we popped into the 7-11 next door and grabbed these for dinner. SO tasty!
Asakusa Café- Asakusa. Climb up the stairs into a tiny café for some super tasty coffee. We wanted to order food but had a time limit and the sign said “food takes ½ hour to prepare” but the dishes we saw coming to other tables looked absolutely delicious.
Santini – Sumida City. A super random find as we had been checking out Mukojima-Hyakkaen Gardens. They were clearly not used to random foreign tourists dropping in, which was funny. But they were super nice and we totally enjoyed our Italian style lunch sets. Husband had a spicy roast beef carbonara dish and I had a ham pasta with red sauce.
Kuro Café – Kyoto. Overwhelmed by Nishiki Market? Pop over to this darling café for some original drink options and delicious deserts! Husband ordered the Strawberry Crush drink while I had the homemade ginger ale and we shared the cheesecake which had homemade whipped cream and blueberry compote. SO good.

***Average steps/floors per day?**25-35 thousand steps20-30 floors
Fushimi Inari was 107 floors (we did go all the way to the top) Soaking in the big bathtub each night was great.
*Packing tip Unless you have severe allergies to products, don't bother packing basic things like toothpaste, saline, soap, shampoo, makeup wipes, etc. Either your hotel will provide it or you can get the Japanese equivalent at a local store. Save the packing space for souvenirs. :)
Sorry for such a long post. If you made it all the way through, thanks for reading!

2022.11.12 02:35 Anon700KG Translation Mistakes (LN Volume 1-22)

EDIT - Fixed Formatting
Basically a list of translation mistakes. Some of the ones listed are personal pet peeves, more a difference in opinion rather than an outright wrong translation.
This is completely unrelated but does anybody know how does Keel, Sadina and Shildeena address Naofumi? For the English version then Keel calls him bubba Naofumi, Sadeena calls him little Naofumi and Shildeena calls him lovely Naofumi. What do they call him in the original Japanese?

Volume 1
- This did have translation mistakes and it took until V2 and onward for me to actually start keeping track of things.

Volume 2
- They referred to Filo as a he on multiple occasions. Wrong gender pronouns.
- Everytime they do a magic chant then early on, the translators got lazy and translated the initial phrase as "I am the source of all power ..." If Naofumi was speaking for example then an optimal translation it would be more like "As shield hero, source of my power, I order thee". They applied the "I am the source of all power" chant for multiple characters this way sometimes right after another. This is incorrect, they shortened it too much. This only applies to some of the translations in the earlier volumes. This problem is essentially fixed later volumes.
- Volume 4, they went back and translated it how it was suppose to sound or at least better than before, "I am the shield hero and the source of all power. Hear my words and heed them. Protect her!" "Fast Guard!" (Pg 212). Talk about inconsistent. Better to be fixed than not at all though.

Volume 3
- All instances of Filo's technique named are translated into English as "Haikuiku" in their Romaji form when it should be High Quick (pg 172). Mistranslations in subsequent volumes like v4 pg126. As of volume 22, it's still named the same way. There are too many examples to list so I stopped.
- Chapter 20's interaction with the shadow. This one is a difference in opinion, I didn't like was that they added the 'Z' sound to try to translate Gojaru speak in Japan which is usually spoken from a woman, I've never heard a guy say it. I would've translated it as l, "I dearsay" added to the end of every sentence. I also initially thought they were using the wrong gender pronoun the entire book but I learned in V22 Pg231 when Naofumi specifically stated that he didn't know what the gender was for this specific shadow. Naofumi always uses male pronouns in the translatio. He / She was originally a doppelganger for the Queen of Melromarc and the anime showed that the shadow was female so I had a bias the entire time reading. She did transform a few times into other females but that could just be a skill or ability. She was talking about being made into Naofumi's lover too which implies her being a woman. The mystery still hasn't been solved.

Volume 4
- For some stupid reason, the translator randomly decides to add a "ms." to Raphtalia even when Naofumi is talking to her. Ugh, even if it was -san then translating it as ms feels so wierd. (Pg 48)
- The translators are incredibly inconsistent. They use actual Japanese honorifics "-tan" whereas they used Mr or ms throughout the entire book. They changed it in this instance. Personally I prefer they use Japanese honorifics like this but it's frustrating that they are so inconsistent. (Pg 132) As of volume 11, I noticed that they have used San, Tan, Chan but everytime Sama was suppose to show up then they kept it the same as how Raphtalia addresses Naofumi which was using "Mr". Atla addresses him the same way and they translated it as Mr. Some other phrases that they translated was An-Chan from the weapon shop guy but they used kid as the translation. L'Arc when referring to Naofumi was translated as bozz / kiddo and vice versa as Bocchan as boy. These last 2 are fairly forgivable. At the very least, keep it consistent and don't hop back and fourth between using honorifics and forcefully translating it into English.
- All instances of Filo's technique named are translated into English as "kuiku" when it should be Quick. This is different than High Quick. (pg 169).
- They used the proper translation once then switched it out in the next instance for a new definition for the word "cowlick" which was changed to "hairstyle" in the LN. Just plain bad translation choice. (Pg 179-180)
- Filo name was mixed up with Fitoria. There is zero doubt that they got this one wrong (pg 183)
- "I, the next princess, am the source of all power." It should be queen. Jiki jouou. (Pg207)
- Ren's skill is suppose to be called hundred sword but the translator used "Hand Red Sword". They also pronounced it in the anime and its definitely hundred sword. They sound similar but the meaning is completely off. (Pg 252) Sometimes I wonder if the translator is retarded or just not paying attention cause the description of the skill should give a clue to the skill name. The same thing for High Quick, the author once described the attack as being quick but made that shitty translation choice anyways. It's a frikken English word, why use the romaji form!
- As of Volume 11 pg 132 and onward then reverted to the correct translation, hundred sword. It takes them til this long to get it right.

Volume 5
- "When I eventually left and returned to my own world, what would Raphtalia do?" It should be leave and return. Past tense sounds strange considering it hasn't happened yet. (Pg 133)
- "I've never scene anything like it." Scene should be spelled as seen. Bad editing. (Pg 195)
- "I came across something like ... like skin stretched taught over bones, dried til it was stiff." I have no idea what they are describing. Tight instead of taught maybe. I had to keep rereading it but I gave up (Pg 203)
- "Before I could finish the sentence Therese produced a bad of gold and tossed it to me." No comma and bad should be spelled as bag. Bad editing. (Pg 226)
- "Pekkul Kigurumi?" Kigurumi means costume character. Forgivable, I would have translated it as Pekkul costume.(Pg 249)
- "That was pretty neat!"" There was a closing quote but no opening quotation mark. Editing mistake. (Pg 250)
- "Big sister can swim just as well as I can!"" There was a closing quote but no opening quotations. Editing mistake. (Pg 257)

Volume 6
- Gender pronouns were wrong multiple times when referring to the combat instructor. They said he when it's clearly a she. Literally 2 or 3 sentences later then they changed it to the right gender. Ffs man, face palm (Pg 179)
- "Buchikuikku" Filo's skill. I'm not sure what this one is suppose to be called so the choice to use romaji might be correct. Sounds like it is suppose to be called Buchi Quick. (Pg 334)

Volume 7
- "It was torn to bloody ribbons that went flying from the creature's body." They are talking about the head of a chimera that Filo kicked but the wording is sloppy. They should have added an and or something (Pg 45)
- "She had shiny red hair tied into a chignon and sharp Chinese-looking eyes." They literally described her hair as a different color in the last volume. The cover and other pictures never showed that her hair was red. I have no idea whey described Osk as having red hair. I thought I was reading pretty carefully but i might be mistaken (Pg 52)
- "The last time I used the shields most powerful skill, I was so badly hurt that I nearly died, and when I was finally able to get out of bed, I discovered that all of my stats had fallen by two thirds due to a curse the shield had put on me." It's an incredibly long sentence so I think the translator or author made a mistake. I distinctly remember previously that the penalty for using Blood Sacrifice is having 1/3 Stat penalty, not 2/3. (Pg 56)
- "You still haven't defeated me. You who hold the holy weapon, you must defeat me soon. Already, I cannot fulfill my role, so you must defeat me quickly." Why is already included in that last sentence, it makes it sound stupid and doesn't really contribute to anything. (Pg 59)
- "During the last battle, the Spirit Tortoise familiar had attacked along with the Spirit Tortoise proper." Why is proper there. I have no idea why that word is there. (Pg 96)
- "Puchikuikku". Puchi Quick? (Pg 225)
- "Then I . . . I had to help her"" There are closing quotation marks but no opening. I looked further back and found no starting quotation marks. Editing mistake. (Pg 311)

Volume 8
- "--Fumi-san! Naofumi-san!" They switched back to using Japanese honorifics. They previously used Mr or Ms with one exception which was Fitoria using -Tan in volumes 1-7 (pg 0)
- "Mr . . . Mr. Naofumi!" They switched back to using Mr later. (Pg 56)- "And L'Arc nii-chan was with her, too? How's he doing with Therese?" Kizuna uses Japanese honorifics. (Pg 57)
- "Okay, I'll call you . . . Kizuna ne-chan." Spoken by Filo. (Pg 249)
- "No, that's fine. Nice to meet you, Filo-chan." (Pg 250)
- "Shouldn't you be Kizuna-chan?" (Pg 250)
- "You're finally here, Mr. Naofumi!" Raphtalia reverts to using Mr. despite the honorific usage in this volume. This implies that it's the same translator but he changed his translation style as he progressed but refuses to change anything that he previously decided on like how Raphtalia addresses Naofumi or Filo's High Quick skill that was also mentioned earlier this volume. (Pg 273)

Volume 9
- "Naofumi-san! It's rude to give these precious things anything less than your full attention!" Therese never referred to Naofumi with San in the previous volumes. Inconsistent (Pg 47)
- ""That was some explosion. Oh look! The light is coming back to Master." There are opening quotations but no ending. Editing mistake. (Pg 126)
- "Huh? You're going to kill me know, just because I didn't say what you wanted to hear? You're sick! I'm nothing like what you want me to be!" Know should be now. Spelling but would be an Editing mistake. (Pg 264)
- "Drifa Light! she shouted, casting the spell on the floating barrier chards." Chard misspelled when it should be Shard. The S should be capitalized on She. Editing mistakes. (Pg 268)

Volume 10+ onward then the Editing quality shot up through the roof. I didn't find any errors other than some previous pet peeves with honorifics. They probably fired that last editor. Either that or he was chewed out by his boss. In Your Face! Don't disrespect this series you incompetent.

Volume 14
- "Being able to break the curses placed on me or Raphtalia herself, well, that would be asking too much." This isn't a translation or editing error but the author internal monolog for Naofumi implies that Raphtalia is still suffering from the curse from Sacrificial Aura back in Kizuna's world fighting Kyou. This simply isn't true, while Naofumi's curse remain active, Raphtalia's curse was removed in Volume 10 when fighting against S'yne's enemies, the otherworldly assassins who used a skill that was suppose to nullify all support buffs but ended up removing her curse as well which ended up in Raphtalia gaining her original stats back and overwhelming the Assassins. I distinctly remember this. (Pg 47)
- ""Sorry, kid. Looks like I'm just small fry. I do want to reach that same level one day."" It's missing the letter "a" after just. Editing Mistake. (Pg 83)
- "Ata couldn't resist an opportunity for a smarmy comment." Atla typo, missing l in Ata. Editing Mistake. (Pg 86)
- ""Yes! Hands off! Hugging of Master Naofumi isn't allowed!" Raphtalia and Atla both vented in surprise." Since this volume then Atla's translation when referring to Naofumi seems to be Master Naofumi sometimes. They used Mr. In previous volumes as a replacement for Sama. Inconsistency strikes once again. I admit I prefer Master. (Pg 94)
- ""I'm talking about this new rival for your affections, Master Naofumi."" Atla speaking (Pg 96)
- ""Brother! Don't get carried away just because Master Naofumi said something nice to you!" (Pg 99)
- ""You take so many risks, Mr. Iwatani, so we arranged for a ship in Silvelt."" S'yne referring to Naofumi as Mr. I'm not sure what honorifics but san sounds likely. All previous Sama was translated as Mr. (Pg 94)
- ""Well said. But if there's any opening, they will strike at you, little Master Naofumi."" Sadeena when referring to Naofumi. I'm not sure if it's a one time thing or what but she usually refers to Naofumi as little Naofumi. Either that or shes making fun of him in her Atla's words. (Pg 98)

Volume 16
- ""Student Raphtalia!"" The old hengen musou lady speaking. I'm assuming that she said deshi which I would translate to disciple and not student. (Pg 127)
- ""Raphtalia is safe, of course," Atla said. "If this was going to take her down, you would have been mine long ago, Master Naofumi," Ost said." Ost said the first quote and Atla said the second. The original order is 100% wrong. (Pg 146)

Volume 17
- ""Mr. Naofumi!" Raphtalia shouted."I'm fine. Defense is my job. Also, Raphtalia. . .""Yes?" she replied." This conversation cut short, its a bit odd. Raphtalia never replied and Naofumi talks to the enemy afterwards. Maybe the attacks were headed for Raphtalia and Naofumi reflected it but there wasn't a reaction from Raphtalia nor a follow up conversation. I'm not sure if I'm reading it right but it's unnatural (Pg 277)
- ""I heard the voice of the vassal weapon. It wants us to protect from this invasion from evil powers. I don't know if I'm suited to this task, but I want to respond to that desire, If I can," Itsuki told us and checked the violin over with sleepy-looking eyes." They didn't specify what they wanted to be protected. It's clear what they are talking about but they should have added protect it or something cause it's grammatically incorrect. (Pg 304)
- "L'Arc greeted her. "Oh, Lady Kizuna!" No problems but the translation is probably from Kizuna ojou. (Pg 90)
- "Glass seemed to look upon that answer a little coldly." The original line was probably glass tsunmitai mei. They tried to translate it but the meaning is slightly off. Probably me just nitpicking too much. (Pg 93)
- "Perhaps feeling Glass's cool gaze, Tsumugi gave a start and then calmed down." Gave a start, wtf does that mean? She was likely startled. Badly worded, Seriously. (Pg 93)

Volume 21
- "Melty looked suitably aghast, Rift looked perplexed, and the Raph-chans were holding their breath." Rift misspelled. It should be Ruft. Editing Mistake (Pg 92)

Volume 22
- This has nothing to do with anything but Naofumi finally addresses Raphtalia on why she still calls him Mr Naofumi which is likely Sama honorific. He even goes on to say it to establish that he was above her in hierarchy so my initial suspicion was likely correct. (Pg 217-219)
- "Trying to escape from being mobbed, the eagle unleashed some attack magic against S'yne's sister, but she simply dodge back for a moment to avoid it and then closed in again." S'yne's sister is nowhere near this scene, not in the same time period or the same world even. How in the hell did they mistranslate this? S'yne is fighting, not her sister. Its also not R'yne or her sister. (Pg 272)

i'm finished, anyways I'm just sharing some mistakes I found and venting a little bit while I'm at it. If there's any mistakes then feel free to point it out. I don't know if I should report some of these editing mistakes or not. Somebody else can report it to the publisher if they want. Maybe the digital version can still be fixed.

“N-no way, ya idiot… It’s not everyday that someone as important as me makes a move like that…”
“W-well, stop wastin’ time and beat up Ogura! Seeya!”
FIGHT DIALOGUE:
“Gwahaha! I’m way stronger than I was before!”
“Now, come at me with your precious Star Spin!”
“There won’t even be a single scratch on me! Gwahaha…GWAAAHAHAHAHAHA!”
After hitting him a couple times:
オーグラ (Ogura):「グハハ!ソノテイドカ!デハ コンドハ コッチノバンダ!カクゴシロ!」
“Gwahaha! Is that all you got? Well then, now it’s my turn! Prepare yourself!”
CONVERSATION 2:
“Take this! And that!”
“What’s wrong? Is that all you've got? Gwahaha!”
“Now that I’ve powered up, no one stands a chance against me! Gwahaha!”
“I'd say it's about time to put you out of your misery! Gwahaha!”
“STOP IIIIIIIIIT!”
“Ya beat Starf’ senseless already! Isn’t that enough for you!?”
“What do you think you’re doing? Don’t you think it’s far too late to come out now, coward!?
Ogura starts hitting Moe.
“Ack! So…strong…! This guy's way stronger than before…!”
“Gwahaha! What weaklings! Might as well kill two birds with one stone!”
Ogura starts moving backwards, clearly planning something.
“C-crud! I can’t move! We…we’re done for!”
“END OF THE LINE, WEAKLINGS!!!!!”
Ogura charges at full speed towards Starfy and Moe…!
“Waaaaaaaaaaaah….!”
Did…we…get hit?
But I feel fine! That means Starfy’s okay too, right? What the heck happened…?
Aaaaaaaaaaah!
“Old Man Lobber!?”
Lobber, with a shimmering, magical blue forcefield around him, holds back Ogura; saving Starfy and Moe.
“That was a close one… You two almost met a grim end…”
“Rgh! Y-you’re…!”
Lobber and Ogura’s magic both dissipate.
“Ogura… It's about time to end your evil ways…”
“Otherwise, I shall seal you in the Jar once more!"
“I’m sure of it… You ARE the one from back then…” (insert thought bubble about younger Lobber and Papa Star)
“You dared to seal me once, but this time will be different! It’s time to enact my revenge!”
“It seems as though words are lost on you...”
“So be it! It's time to teach you a lesson! Now... Have at you!”
(insert Lobster + Eel man fight scene)
“E-Even as a wrinkly old man, you're still this strong! I knew you weren’t normal…”
ロブじいさん (Old Man Lobber):「むぅ..
“*huff* And you…have definitely gotten stronger…”
“Much stronger than when we last fought…”
“I-I’ll retreat for now! I’ll remember this!”
Ogura runs off, leaving Starfy and Moe stunned at Lobber's strength.
“Who the heck ARE you, old timer!? I never knew you were this strong!”
“Tch… If you were this strong from the get go, you coulda walloped-”
(Old Man Lobber):「
"Don't always rely on others, you fool!"
"This is the time for youngsters like you to take over!"
“What can you do if you don't put in any hard work?"
“Besides, I'm much too old... Oh, my aching back..."
"Here! Take the Jar and hurry!"
"Thanks to our little scuffle, Ogura's gotten a smidge weaker..."
"Take this opportunity and seal him while you still can!"
"I had a hard time finding the Jar after you two left... Harrumph!"
"Well, it's alright. I believe in you two! I'll be going now."
"Yeah...you're right! What kinda losers would we be if we just stood around and did nothing!"
"*mumble mumble* For Ruby's sake too... I wanna be the type of man she can rely on..."
"Alright, let's get movin', Starfy! The future's in our hands!"
"There's only one thing left to do! Let’s finish this!!!"
PRE-PHASE 1 DIALOGUE:
“So I did a little bit of digging…”
“And like I thought, just mindlessly attacking won’t work…”
“But there IS a slight opening when Ogura attacks!”
“When that happens, hit him in his big, dumb mouth!”
PHASE 1 DIALOGUE:
“Starfy! It’s time to finally settle things…”
“But, you’ll never save your mother if you don’t beat me first!”
“Starfy! I knew you’d come! Help me!
“Now show me what you got! I’ll crush you! Gwahahaha!!!”
“Come at me as many times as you’d like! I’ll crush you all the same!”)
PRE-PHASE 2 DIALOGUE:
“Ogura’s just as stubborn as ever…”
“But his weak point didn’t change, so keep aimin’ for his big mouth!”
PHASE 2 DIALOGUE:
“Well done! As a reward, have a glimpse of my true power…”
“You just don’t learn… Well, keep coming at me then!)
PRE-PHASE 3 DIALOGUE:
“We’ve finally come this far…”
“Use everything you’ve got to beat the brakes offa Ogura!”
PHASE 3 DIALOGUE:
“Rrrrrrrgh! I’ve had enough of this!!
“It’s time for you to witness my true power! Gwahahahahaha!!!”
Ogura transforms, and uses magic to wave Mama Star in front of her son, taunting him. He then sends Starfy’s mother away, and challenges the prince.
“This will be the final round! Let’s go, Starfy! Gwooooooooooooh!!!!”
(This text appears even if you lose)
Starfy defeats Ogura after a hard fought battle. Moe then swoops in to place the Jar down, sealing Ogura inside. Starfy’s mother is released from Ogura’s magic, causing Starfy to tear up and jump into her arms.
CONVERSATION 3:
“Oh, Starfy! Thank you for coming for me! Thank you!”
“I always knew you would.”
“You’ve grown so much… Mama is so proud of you.”

“We’ll have to be extra careful with the Jar from now on.”

“You see…Due to Starfy accidentally losing them before…”
“We’ve been hiding treasure throughout the sea for a few years now.”
“My apologies, but you’ll have to search for them using that treasure map…”
“You gotta be kidding me! …Ugh, what a pain…”
“*sigh* Do it for the treasure, Moe… C’mon, Starf’, let’s go!”

“Huh? ‘Mama’s finally back and you don’t wanna go’?”
“Don’t be dumb! C’mon! (Moe hits the Jar) …Ow!
The Jar gets hit below the screen where, you guessed it, Ogura flies up to mock everyone.
“Gwaaaahahaha! What fools!!!”

Thank you for following me through the almost two years this project took me! While I'm definitely not done, this marks the end of the Legendary Starfy 2 Script V1! I do plan on translating post game at some point, but I’m gonna take a little break for now lol. But what’s next is pause screen text and missed item descriptions. They won’t be separate posts, but rather edits to existing posts. Also expect a release of the BEHEMOTH of the entire main game's text as downloadable files with and without the Japanese transcription. Once again, thank you so so much for encouraging me on this journey, and I hope that you have enjoyed The Legendary Starfy 2! Oh, and for those who don’t care about post game, have a present on the house… I hope you enjoy~ YouTube Surprise

CONVERSATION 1:
ミジンゴウ1 (Mijingou #1):「おーれたっちゃ カイゾクたらりらり〜 じーまんの ふーねで らりらりら〜〜」 “Weee~ are pirates ladidaa~ Our ship is so cooool~ lalilaaaa🎶”
“Hey, swabbie*! You done organizing the cargo yet!?”
“Hey, Bro*! Yup, I’m done! Now I just gotta put it all on the ship!”
ミジンゴウ2 (Mijingou #2):「うちの プチオーグラせんちょうも うるせー人だが おしろの『大ボス』は」 “Captain Puchi Ogura is really particular with this stuff, but the ‘Big Boss’, up in the castle…”
Is WAY more picky about the cargo. We don’t bring the exact amount he wants and we get turned into snot-nosed messes.”
“shudder So…what do you think the Big Boss wants all these weapons for, anyways?”
“That’s not for us underlings to know! Anyways, how’s the prisoner?”
ミジンゴウ1 (Mijingou #1):「まいにち なきくらしてるみたいっス」 “Every day there’s just more tears.”
Sucks for them, but they heard Echigyoya’s plans.”
“Pretty sure their name was Lumi the Mirror*…”
We gotta go, Bro!”
CONVERSATION 2:
“Ah!!! Starfy! You’re Starfy aren’t you!?”
“How in the world did you find the Pirates’ Hideout?”
I see… So you were flung by an explosion and lost your way?”
“Because of that, you and Moe were separated, hm? That sounds awful…”
I’m in an awful position myself…sob sniffle
“I had just so happen to overhear some of Puchi Ogura #10 and Echigyoya’s conversation, and then got thrown in here…”
What!? You’ll help me? …However, the Cell Key is a ways through that left door.”
Not to mention, there are difficult traps en route!”
Those pirates said that ‘If the pictures don’t match, the door doesn’t open’.”
“I’m not sure what it means… But I am a little concerned…”
“It must be difficult to procure the key, so surely coming back with it is impossible, no?”
〜〜POST CONVO DIALOGUE〜〜
(The lines are mostly the same, with the last one basically just saying “surely coming back with it is impossible, no?”)
You found the Cell Key!
CONVERSATION 3:
“Wah! You did it, Starfy! Thanks to you, I’m free!”
As thanks, I’ll tell you what that Puchi Ogura and Echigyoya have planned.”
Those weapons that Echigyoya collected? …They’re smuggling them.”
That Puchi Ogura’s taking them up the mountain to what looks like a castle.”
“Eh? Why are they taking weapons to the castle? Well…they didn’t talk about that…”
Aside from that, I sincerely thank you. But we must make a stealthy escape from here.”
“And I believe those pirates used a secret path here…”
(A path opens up above Starfy and Lumi)
“There it is! Well, I shall take my leave…”
You should too, Starfy. You have to hurry and reunite with Moe.”
Inside the chest there was…a Village Girl Kimono!
Why’s the Puchi Ogura bringing weapons to a castle? What’s with that castle anyhow?
TN:
1) About the name Mijingou, there’s actually two ways that you could read this sort of. The first is just taking (Mijinko, Water Flea) and that being that. But you could also read it as Water Flea plus 倭寇 [Wakou, old Japanese pirates]. I decided not to change the name since I didn’t really feel like choosing, but I like the name Scurvy Flea(s), even if Water Fleas aren’t actually fleas.
2) From a glance, I actually didn’t know what this means lol. But I thought about it, and thought that it might just be 俺たち海賊隊〜自慢の船〜 [Oretachi Kaizokuta~ Jiman no Fune~ or, We are pirates~ Our ship’s something to be proud of~). I have no way of checking without just putting it into a translator but... that probably wouldn't turn out well lol.
3) Not to be confused with calling him, or referring to Swabbies from Starfy 5. The word used here means 'underling', but the lowest rank of a pirate is apparently a "Swab" or Powder Monkey.
4) The ‘bro’ here probably isn’t meant to be Mijingou #1 literally talking to his brother, but rather an informal way to refer to one’s superior. For those who watch subbed anime (maybe dubbed ones too, I wouldn’t know), a lot of delinquent type groups use this to refer to their leader. (Aniki) can mean both, so it really is context sensitive. (O/Niisan) is more polite and almost always refers to a brotherly relationship. From what I know at least.
5) Lumi the Mirror is a fan name used in the Starfy 1 Eng. Patch. It’s pretty close to the OG name, so I didn’t bother fiddling with it. [Yakoukagami] is, I believe, a combination of 夜行 (nocturnal luminescence) and 鏡 (mirror). So just a luminous mirror. If the Eng Patch didn’t use some fan names, I’d probably just call them Lumirror or something dumb.

“Let’s go, Starf’! Let’s give these low-lives what’s comin’ to ‘em!”
(Stage Clear!):
Inside the chest there was…a Detective’s Cap!
Ressie’s daughter was kidnapped! We gotta track her down and save her!
Translator's Notes:
1) Ressie's name is an analogue to "Nessie" (spelled ネッシー). I named the world "Loch Ress" as Ness Mizuumi (ネス湖) is the Japanese name of Lock Ness [which is obviously where 'Nesse' gets its name]. Mizuumi is what the characters refer to this lake as, so just a bit of fun with words.
2) The actual wording used here is that Ressie is the guardian deity of this lake. Though it seems more like a title to me. Like not that Ressie's an actual god, but their deeds are godlike. But of course, it comes down to preference. Do you prefer Ressie being godlike or a literal god.
3) Funazou's name is kinda weird. Funa (鮒) means Carp, so that's easy enough. But Sou/Zou is a bit harder. Zou (像) can mean picture, paint, statue, etc. While Sou can mean think, concept, idea (想) or monk (僧). None of these really fit him, seeing as he's actually a shopkeep (as said in Convo 2's Post Convo dialogue), so I decided to keep as is. Yeah, he's holding something that might be a picture/canvas, but I don't have enough information for or against that point to say.
4) "Elementary, my dear Moeston". Starlock Polmes and his faithful assistant Moeston! Obviously based on Sherlock Holmes and Watson. Had to fiddle around with Moe's name here since his Japanese name is Kyorosuke/Kyotson. Can't just put Kyotson since uh. That's not exactly his English name, is it? Plus, Moetson looks, and personally, sounds weird. Fun fact: For those who have played Starfy 4, Rabbiarty also plays into this joke. Seeing Starfy, or Starlock Polmes, as their rival, and being based off of Holmes's own rival, Moriarty.
5) I'll admit I'm not too big a fan of the name Geeztache. But for those who recall, I try to change names with more obvious jokes. OG name is Jiiyan, based on the words ‘old man’ (Jii-san/爺さん), and possibly Iridescent Shark Catfish (Kaiyan/カイヤン). It’s also possible that the Yan could just be the honorific to refer to those you are close to, which applies to the relationship Jiiyan and Puchi 9 have. The name I gave him is just Geezer and stache superglued together.
EDIT: As of 9-6's translation, I've scrapped Geezstache. In hindisight, I think it makes him much more of a joke, and ruins his dialogue. Also it just makes me feel bad for even changing it in the first place, especially when I changed it to a worse, unfitting one.
6) This applies to both the use of "sonny" and "Pop-pop". Jiiyan calls PO#9 Obocchama [おぼっちゃま], which means young master, young man from another family, etc. To me, it seems more familiar than Numan who refers to PO#5 with "sama". So here I translated it to 'sonny'. Then, PO#9 says Jii-ya [じいや]. The...honorific(?). I dunno what word to realy use, but the 'ya' here means someone you're familiar with. I didn't wanna use the word 'Gramps', since A) Moe uses that a lot and B) It is much more polite in this context.
7) Manju [饅頭] is a steamed yeast bun usually made with usually a anko filling, made from sugar and adzuki beans. Some include chestnut jam. red bean paste, etc etc. Okinawan manju uses a purple sweet potato filling according to Google.
8) Literal translation: "I couldn't use my arms or legs because my daughter was used as a shield." But haha that doesn't really make that much sense to me. It makes more sense that Ressie wasn't allowed to fight back.
Also I’m gonna hold off on the vids for now. For one, I’m already planning on doing all of them/uploading them in order. It really doesn’t matter when I do them. Second, it kinda takes a lot outta me to translate, record gameplay, and edit in one day, just to do the same thing the next day. This will hopefully make these come out faster since I can translate two stages, but literally can’t put out two videos.

When you find the door:

Yet another hidden door discovered, and yet another door to be found.

“At some point, you're gonna have to Star Spin upwards to find that door, so get movin'!”
When you find the door:
キョロスケ (Moe):「たくっ!いくつあるんだよ!これで おわりにしてほしいぜ!」
“Geez, how many more of these are there!? I just want this to be over already…”
Finding three of these hidden doors, Starfy makes good progress tracking down the Puchi Ogura. However, Taiblond is having some difficulty.
“Where have you gone, you scoundrel!? There’s nowhere left to hide!”

2021.07.06 03:09 AUselessMage 7-2 おちてくる『イワ』から 子供たちを まもろ!/ Protect Those Kids from the Falling Rocks! (Starfy 2 Translation)

For those who wanna do more than read :)
The trek up this alpine continues as Starfy and Moe halt at a collection of cliffs, with raining obstacles causing Moe concern.
“This is bad…Those boulder’s ain’t the same as the ones underwater. They’ll cream ya if you get hit!”
“But see those fallin’ pebbles? That means that a boulder ain’t far behind!”
“Don’t just jump out if you see those pebbles, got it? You’ll get a rude awakenin’ if ya do!”
“If you just stay put, you’ll be safe as the boulder flies past ya!”
The hail of rocks don’t stop yet, as more boulders fall into a small patch of water.
“Gah, here too!? Quick, jump in the water, Starf’!”
“The boulder’ll lose some impact hittin' the water, so you should be fine, right?”
“What're ya waitin' for? Swan dive in there!”
Like in the last stage, Starfy guides a boulder onto another, freeing a new face. A blond haired orange fish holding a camera.
“Oh~! What a horrible time that was! Thank you very much!”
“...The heck’s with this weirdo?”
“Oh~, sorry~! Introductions are indeed in order! I am Taiblond!”
“I’m reporting on the abduction of the Queen of Pufftop, and I’m dying for leads!!”
“And naturally that means I had to go straight to the sky high source… If it wasn't for that little ruffian!”
(Flashback)
“Why must the path to Pufftop be so tiring!? Hm? Who’s that over there? A...child perhaps?”
イマイチだな…『イワ』ばっか こわしても おもしろきね〜んだよなぁ〜」 “sigh This is boring...Blowing up these boulders isn’t fun…”
“Hi~! What are you doing over there? Would you mind helping a young lady with her news story~?”
“Oh, perfect timing! I can help you, granny!”
“I am no ‘granny’! By the by, what is this on the ground?“
Just then, the bomb blows up in Taiblond’s face, much to Puchi Ogura #7’s amusement.
“Gyahahahahahahaha! Your face!!!”
“What did you do that for, you ruffian!?”
“Well actually…I put a bomb there too…”
The ground gives way due to the bomb, dropping Taiblond into the depths below.
“Yup! And another for good measure!”
“Gyahahahahahahaha!!!”
(Flashback end)
Even now, I get angry thinking about it!”
キョロスケ (Moe):「まぁ そんなことは どーでも いいんだけどよ」 “Cool, great, thanks for the life story…”
Anyways, it seems like that brat’s causing these falling boulders.”
“And if he isn’t dealt with, they’ll keep on comin’!”
“Oh~! Are you going to deal with that scoundrel? Let me help you!”
My story can wait, for now.”
When I see him again, I’ll take a picture and tell you where he is.”
“Well then, kind sirs, I wish you good luck!”
〜〜POST CONVO DIALOGUE〜〜
“You must corner that scoundrel at all costs!”
Leaving the reconnaissance to Taiblond, Starfy and Moe continue scaling yet more of this convoluted cliffs.
“Ya remember how I keep sayin’ that pebbles fall before the boulders, right?”
“That means DON’T stand under the pebbles when they come down!”
“Instead wait for an opening. After it falls, you’ll be safe to push onwards!”
Starfy avoids the endless raining rubble, meeting up with Moe, and those green clouds from before.
“Hey, isn’t that one of those clouds you can use to reach higher places?”
“But if you just get on, it starts to sink, right?”
“Maybe that’ll be useful somewhere!”
Ascending, decending, and jumping around, the only way to move is forwards!
“Hey, Starf’! Good news! You don’t hafta wait for these boulders anymore!”
“If you’re fast enough, you can hide in those little gaps to the left or right of those boulders!”
“Once the boulder’s outta your way, just hoof it to the top!”
Starfy finds Moe in the presence of a bird and some crying chicks.
“It’s okay little ones, don’t cry *chirp! Just stay put chirp!”
“I’ll bring something so you all can walk over safely chirp! Just wait a little longer chirp!”
“Squawk*!!! No, no, noooo!”
“Woah, what the heck happened here!?”
“Who are you two chirp? No, this is perfect chirp! Please, will you help me chirp?”
“Today we went on a nice hike, but suddenly there was an earthquake chirp!”
“So I brought the chicks somewhere safe, but then a boulder fell in between us chirp!”
“Thanks to that, the bridge got destroyed chirp!”
So tried to quickly find something I could use for a foothold-“
“Squawk!!! No, no, noooo!”
“That’s how we got here. I beg of you two, please find a foothold in my place!”
“I guess we gotta. C’mon, let’s go see what we can find, Starf’!”
〜〜POST CONVO DIALOGUE〜〜
“Please hurry and find something to use as a foothold chirp!”
“I don’t know if or when another boulder could fall, so please hurry chirp!”
“Squawk I’m scared! I wanna go home squawk!”
Moe dialogue:
“Hey, Starf’, we could definitely use that platform! Now all we gotta do is haul it back and repair the bridge, right?”
“Wait, what? There are some walls in the way?”
“So there’s no way to get this back without… Wait, I got it! Just use the boulders!”
“When the boulders fall on the foothold, it should sink, right?”
Successfully bringing back a platform for the Tutweets to safely cross over, they are reunited with their thankful teacher.
“Thank you for your help chirp! Now everyone, thank them too chirp!”
Thank you tweet! You guys looked so cool underwater tweet!”
“But we’re way cooler when we fly!”
“Tch! What cheeky brats! Don’t you know who I am?”
“I am the cool, dependable genius…The Great and Powerful Moe!”
“Well we must be going chirp. It is much too dangerous here chirp!”
“…That teacher thought about those kids the entire time…I hope I can send my siblings to school one day…”
“But before any of that, if we see that troublemaker, we gotta teach him a lesson!”
Inside the chest there were…some Chinese clothes!
Thankfully those chicks are safe now! In the next stage, a helpful friend awaits…
TL Notes:
Only names this time, and I’ll keep it short and sweet:
Taiblond is just her name. Romanized it’s Taiburondo, but burondo literally means blond. She does have an accent that I can’t write, so give her whichever one you want.
As far as Professors and Tutweets, they’re both puns. Professor + soar and Tutee + Tweet. I will say that this is a departure from their original names, as Professoar’s is Kurundoru Sensei, which is based off of Condor and Sensei (the literal word for teacher). The Tutweets are similar as they are the Kodorun-tachi (literally the Kodoruns), and are also based on the word condor.

After the retreat of the Sixth Puchi Ogura, Starfy and Moe bid Wozart adieu and continue their adventure. As they explore, Moe takes note of the surroundings, a familiar setting coming to his mind.
“Hey, Starf’, you know this place? It’s called the ‘Indoor Cave’ “
“There’s only one guy who’s cleared every puzzle...the Famous Adventurer… Indoor Jaws*!”
“This cave’s gonna be oozing with traps and other weird things…”
“I dunno where or what kind of traps there’ll be, but that’s the fun! Let’s go, Starf’!”
〜〜POST CONVO DIALOGUE〜〜
“The Indoor Cave huh? There’s gotta be some amazing treasure at the end right?”
“Maybe the treasure’s some valuable coin, or a diamond, or-or a pretty lady…!”
The fame of this area made clear to Starfy, Moe begins his treasure hunt...which immediately comes to a screeching halt when faced with a room with 3 doors and pictures above each.
“Crap*! There’re too many doors, and I dunno which one to go in- Huh?”
“There are some kinda markings on the wall. I’m gonna read it, so listen closely!”
“*Ahem*...I am not like others in this group, and I do not live amongst them.”
“However, I am the true door to progress...The heck’s this mean?”
“Maybe it’s some sorta hint?”
〜〜POST CONVO DIALOGUE〜〜
“What? You want me to read this again? *sigh* Fine.”
“I am not like others in this group, and I do not live amongst them.”
“However, I am the true door to progress...There ya have it.”
“So out of those pictures, I guess you find what doesn’t fit in?”
The pictures above each door represent an animal. There is a bird, a pig, and a fish. The correct answer is the fish, as it does not live on land like pigs and birds do. (Yeah, birds can fly, but they still have to land to nest and raise young.) Going through the farthest door, Starfy and Moe reach yet another puzzle to solve.
“Hm? Seems like there’s writing here too…’The Tidy Tune*’?”
“Pigs love their ruby red apples, birds chirp at the sight of golden yellow honey, and fish jump towards the azure blue skies.”*
"A beautiful room is a great success...is what it says anyways.”
“Oh, this is real easy. It just wants you to put those balls in the right place.”
“But knowing how much of an idiot you are, you could...No, you will mess this up somehow!”
“Well, you can try at least. When you mess up, just talk to me.”
〜〜POST CONVO DIALOGUE〜〜
“Pigs love their ruby red apples, birds chirp at the sight of golden yellow honey, and fish jump towards the azure blue skies.”
“A beautiful room is a great success...is what’s written here.”
“Well uh...it wants...Whatever, I read the song to you again!”
“It mentions the colors of an apple and the sky. So it wants you to organize ‘em right?”
“Hm? What, didja mess up? Alright…”
“Want me to put everything back like before?”
はい (Yes)
If Yes is selected:
キョロスケ (Moe):「わかった ちょっとまってろ」
“Gotcha, just gimme a sec.”
いいえ (No)
If No is selected:
キョロスケ (Moe):「んだよ!オレさまは いそがしいんだ!ようもねーのに はなしかけんな ボケ!」
“What are you doing then!? I don’t have all day to talk to an idiots!”
Apple ball to the pig, bee ball to the bird, and cloud ball to the fish. Short, sweet, and to the point puzzle.
The door opened.
“Hm, nice job. Huh? You thought that was hard!?”
“Don’t act like that was a workout, idiot! Onto the next one, come on!”
With another puzzle completed, Starfy happens upon a room swarming with enemies. He signals help from Moe to understand what to do.
“There’s some writing on the wall again. Let’s see…”
“Those guys shouldn’t be here. Defeat them all.”
“The treasure will show itself if you succeed, but to the beginning you go if you’re wrong… Wait, so the treasure’s super close!”
“Do your best, it's for the treasure! ...Hm? What does it mean by ‘those guys’?”
“W-well...uhhhhh...Oh, there was something to the side of the message!”
“See this picture? I think these are the guys it mentioned”
〜〜POST CONVO DIALOGUE〜〜
“Lemme guess, want a refresher on what to do? Alright, but you better remember this time.”
“Those things shouldn’t be here. Defeat them all.”
“The treasure will show itself if you succeed, but to the beginning you go if you’re wrong… and that’s the end of it.”
“This should be easy enough for you alone, so I’ll just take a nap…”
If you go above the water, you'll see flying enemies and a blue/purple enemy walking on the platforms. Defeat all of them and you can proceed.
The door opened.
“At long last, The Great Moe’s Indoor Cave has been completed!”
“Movies and commercials’ll be made in my name...I’ll be such a busy guy~!”
Starfy makes his way through some tight corridors and a small collection of enemies. But true to the trials of the Indoor Cave, there was indeed a treasure sleeping in its depths!
(Stage Clear!):
Inside the chest there was…an Adventurer’s Whip!
It seems that Tutah’s* bothered by something! Go help him Starfy!
TL Notes:
A lot of simple changes with the exception of one that I’ll get into.
Indoor Jaws is basically just a literal translation. If there’s a joke, I might have missed it. But the words インドア literally means Indoor and ジョーズ likewise means Jaws. ジョーズ can also be Jose I guess, but I personally feel like it makes more sense for it to be Jaws.
Second is just Moe having a sailor mouth again. Replaced it with crap instead of him saying “shit”.
Third is just a name thing again. The literal translation is “The Song of Cleaning/The Cleaning Song”, so I just made it more basic and shortened it to the Tidy Tune.
Fourth is a bit more drastic. I will admit that I changed this more for an artistic reason. The word for word translation is “Apple color is in the Pig’s place, Honey color is in the Bird’s place, Sky color is in the Fish’s place”. I wasn’t sure how to sell the ‘song’ aspect, so I tried to make it a bit more...just more hahaha. I still tried to keep the original meaning of course though. But that’s about all I really changed.
Lastly is the name of チュータ (Chuta). To be frank, his name is just Tutor but without the emphasis on the “r” of the English word (represented by the lack of the sound extention of his JP name). So I just made his name Tutah. Also, to my knowledge, he teaches Starfy a special technique in all of the GBA games. But, and you'll see this in the next stage, he does have a speech quirk of "Chu" much like Gellato from World 4. So if you'd prefer Chuta instead, I wouldn't blame you, nor would you be wrong.

This select catalog island features all the complete furniture sets, as well as the more popular furniture items for inside and outside decor.
📌 Rules and Cataloging Etiquette
❗️READ FIRST before signing-up for a slot❗️
Setting up the island for this lovely ACNH community took quite a bit of effort and planning. In order for this event to be successful for everyone, please first read all of these rules carefully.
  1. Cataloging is when you pick up an item and then drop that item back down — you do not keep any items. Once an item is cataloged, it may be later purchased from Nook Shopping at the kiosk in the Resident Services.
  2. Come with empty pockets, only catalog with empty pockets. (I have had the most problems with guests not following this rule lately).
  3. One person in a stall at a time.
  4. Keep items neatly in the stalls and on the colored tiles.
  5. I will chat you 10 min. before your scheduled time — take that time to empty your pockets be at the airport on standby. Unfortunately, if you are not ready at the airport by your fly-in time, you will forfeit your spot.
  6. Please chat me on Reddit if you see any missing items, poor behavior from another player, or encounter any problems.

2021.03.08 04:20 Curly678 [USA-CA] [H] Kirby Canvas Curse Loose [W] List of 3DS & DS Games

Hi,
This is my first post on this sub, but I have 3 confirmed transactions on gamesale, and around 5 more uncofirmed (buyer didn't leave a comment confirming, but shipping does show delivered). If anyone wants links, I'd be more than happy to provide them. I find trading more risky than selling, so I will only be accepting offers from users with a flair (either gamesale or gameswap), or a trader who can link me succesful trades. Sorry if I'm being to worrysome. If you want to trade and have an item I want, please post a picture of the item with your Reddit username and today's date. This post is also on Gamesale in case anyone wants the game but doesn't want to trade.
Side note: Just as an example, if anyone has a copy of Ultra Moon (Around a $30 value), and they're interested in my copy of Canvas Curse (Around $20), I'd be more than happy to pay the $10 difference. Not sure if that's allowed, but if it is, I can do this type of deal
Here are some pics of Canvas Curse: https://imgur.com/a/Kh3wc1j
Here is a list of games I'd like. I'm only looking for sealed 3DS games. DS is fine CIB as long as everything is in nice condition. There are some DS games that I'm only looking for sealed (they'll be marked).
