Can I save the free battery?

2024.05.07 23:33 Manderthal13 Can I save the free battery?

Last month I bought the LM2135SP and it came with an additional, free, battery. Thanks EGO! Thing is, at this time, at this house, I really don't need it. My lawn is small and only uses one (charge) bar per mow. I do hope to move in the next couple of years so that's why I chose this mower- for future expansion. Anyway I have a brand new battery still in the packaging. Can this simply be shelved for a year or two and then put into service at a later date? Or is it better to put both into service and alternate?

My AC fan in my 2014 Ford Escape sounds like a lawn mower or airplane, and it gets loudeworse the faster the fan spins.
I have recently changed my cabin air filter, so it's not blocked.

I've forgotten how much I hate the endless buzz of lawn mowers but now that it's spring time it's like there's always someone mowing in my neighborhood no matter what time of day and I can never block it out. 😭 I almost wish there was a dedicated hour of the week when everyone mowed at once and all the noice could be done at once lol Just here to complain.

2024.05.07 22:32 Bigbster Zeon and Emerald Zoysia Observation and Question

Zeon and Emerald Zoysia Observation and Question
Hello Everyone,
I made an observation with my Zeon/Zoysia combo yard. I cut 3 small areas, within my 7500 sqft large yard, using a modified Earthworks Reel mower at about 1/2". The rest of the yard is cut with a Honda Twin blade rotary on the lowest, about 1", setting. What I noticed is that the 3 areas cut at 1/2" seem to be healthier than the other areas or at least stay green longer and green up out of dormancy faster. All areas are treated with the same amounts of fertilizer. The low HOC areas seem denser and greener with less thin spots coming out of winter. Zeon does appear to have more fungus issues than Emerald though.
Does anyone know why the 1/2 inch HOC areas would do better? All the articles I read state 1" to 1.5" HOC for Zeon/Emerald. That is not what I am experiencing, with my lawn. I am in the Birmingham, AL area. It is not feasible for me to cut my entire yard, with a manual Reel mower. I also have quite a few trees that drop sticks and such, so the lawn cutting prep time would be too much effort, but I would love for my entire yard to look as good as the 3 low HOC areas.
Thoughts?

Lawn mower transmission cable broken?
This is a craftsman Rear wheel drive self propelled mower. It stopped propelling and I took off the cover and see this line looks to be broken? Also is it suppose to hook on there at the bottom?

Hey everyone, if you have this model, the new manual online shows 8 step settings. Some of the older versions like mine only have 7 settings. I found this old manual that gives the cutting height for the 7 setting models.

2024.05.07 22:14 dittbub 40v Twin Force Mower - starts as soon as red safety jumper is plugged in

I'm probably just gunna get a new mower, its out of warranty and kinda small for what i need anyway.
but i figure i should at least ask reddit, couldn't find anything on youtube for this.
So when i plugin the red safety jumper thing... the mower immediately starts. i can't get it to stop without pulling out the jumper. nothing "feels" wrong with the starting switch/bar thing.
so i started mowing like this, and mowed fine. but it ran out of power early. i checked the batteries. the one in the right bank was empty, the one in the left bank was full. i took out the right one and then put in the full battery and plugged in the jumper and it started again. was able to finish the normal amount of lawn it can do.
so i didn't know it could operate with only 1 battery in it. not sure if thats normal or not lol anyway that is not ideal and its not ideal that the dead man switch doesn't work either. any ideas whats going on here?

Terain is mostly flat but there can be lot of bumps. If it is stronger we would use it on small hill. Around 5000m2 of field to cut grass.

2024.05.07 21:47 Specialist-Ad-2767 Offered to mow lawn - almost scammed

Throwaway account for obvious reasons. My wife and I moved into a home(we are first time homeowners) on a busy street and there is a single guy who lives across the street from us who is about our age. 30-40 age range. After about a year of living here, he left a note on our door saying he would mow our lawn for 20 bucks and leaving his phone number. We thought this was great because we wanted to befriend him anways.
We had been mowing our own lawn for a year and a half, but this was the first time of this spring that it needed it, so I paid him 40 to do it. We had a long talk and he seemed like a nice guy. He said he had some problems with oxy in the past and is currently unemployed, but he is working on that and likes to do lawn jobs. He proceeds to bring a ladder over and says he can manually clean our gutter for 460 dollars(no pressure washer).
We say we will think about it, as he still has our lawn mower. He said he was cleaning the blades out so that next time he mows our grass it will be easier for him. Well a week goes by and he will not give us our lawn mower back. I regretted letting him take it across the street and thought it was gone. He finally texts and says he will give it back to us for a blade cleaning fee of 10 bucks. We go to the atm to get the money and when we come back, our mower was by our fence, where anyone could have taken it. Texted him that we have the money now if he wants it.
We have decided to do our own lawn like we were doing before. Now our neighbor is mad because we found someone less expensive to clean our gutters out. He saw another man up on our roof doing our gutters, and texted us saying "I see you you are using someone else, thanks for the heads up." We tried to explain to him that this guy is family and doing it for free. I am afraid he will retaliate somehow. We do have security cameras.

2024.05.07 21:39 Southern-Log is TSLA potentially the "American" Honda?

I think TSLA might be (or become) the American Honda. Good products, occasionally cool stuff - and a name everyone knows.
I think TSLA will eventually be something like Honda. Tesla is American, born and supported in primarily in the US.
Honda is a great company. They make lots of great products. Honda makes vehicles, cars, aircraft, motorcycles, boat motors, lawn mowers, and a Robot (ASIMO the humanoid robot) and a motor that competes well in Formula-1 racing. So, I see parallels to TSLA.
Tesla has great products: Vehicles, Solar and battery products, and charging. Eventually maybe taxis that drive themselves and/or a robot.
That said, adoption can be slow and competition is often stiff. Tesla will do a good job of competition, but I can't see where they have a monopoly or even close. Even if Cathie Wood bases her TSLA predictions on monopoly or near cornered market estimates.
I read on this reddit and post reply here and there.
I have small put options on both TSLA. I think the auto industry is headed for a slower clip in the near future.
I maintain that TSLA will be priced like a car company with some tech in the mix. Like Honda, but with more automation. Clearly with the number of people being cut from the company management knows things are slowing down. My opinion leans on the P/E ratio. The S&P 500 P/E ratio has roughly been between 15 and 25 for the last 15 years. I think TSLA is headed for a 25-35 x P/E. It is where tech some companies which make things are sitting. AAPL 28x, MSFT 35x, GOOG 26x, META 26x, TM (Toyota) is at 10x, Honda is at about 9x or 10x. TSLA is a vehicle company right now. The charging stations are a real business that seems to have longevity. And I think down the road TSLA will have material products for automation. The automatons – cars and robots are neat, but having a real product for market seems way off. And TSLA won’t be the only one.
Real products to market have often been slow to Musk and TSLA. Musk said the Cybertruck would go into production in late 2021 back when the vehicle was revealed in 2019. A small number of deliveries were made in late 2023. This was 4 to 5 years after announced. It is clear that planned products do happen, but often years after announced.
As the markets where TSLA has products become more mature, the growth prospects for the company become smaller. Sure TSLA could release a windmill, robot, something closer to real FSD, or Model X that tweets various videos of things that happen while driving, but things look like TSLA is maturing. Right now things are pivoting to a more stable and mature TSLA. And with a new product maybe it gets into the 40s maybe even the 50s. But this good company looks like the stock is overvalued. For my investments, I see TSLA headed to a PE between 25 and 35. And I think its going to get there this year and stay in that range for a while. The market had it there a few weeks back, and not much has changed other than job cuts.

2024.05.07 21:13 JaneDeronda New member's first day in local buy nothing group and wants her home furnished, and decorated down to curtains, needs a camera doorbell, an electric fence for her "service teacup Yorkie," and more!

"Hello new neighbors! I have some big asks. We just moved to the area and the precious family before us left us with… a disaster. So, during the move, things got broken or lost or we had to sell to finance the move itself. My biggest things at the moment are:
Laptop. I work from home quite frequently and mine stopped charging. It’s not helping me financially provide for what we lost if I can’t work.
Counter height bar stools. We don’t have a dining table and I can’t let my kids eat anywhere but the dining room… which is empty. I don’t mind standing, but they’re not having a good time. Sitting them at the counter would be so helpful.
Biggest ask: washer and dryer. The ones I had before were my previous landlords. I have 5 kids and work in healthcare. We are cleaning and repairing 2 homes.. I don’t have time or fuel to sit at a laundromat. Pretty prettty please!
As mentioned, a dining room table and chair would be fabulous. We need a decent size one… 4-6 seats if possible.
My son is doing online school since we moved out of his district at the very end of the year. His card take he was using for his computer desk collapsed during the move and he’s sitting on his bedroom floor for hours trying to do school work everyday. He has a chair, just need a desk to put his tower and monitor on.
Since I also do a lot of work from home, I could use a desk and office chair as well. I’m not picky.
My 4 year old has an awful tattered twin mattress. Nothing else. I really need a twin bed for him. A new mattress would be great as well but I can make this one work as long as I get him off the floor so I can store his toys under his bed.
My living room tv is broken but it kind of works. But it’s sitting on the floor. A tv stand that would fit a 60” would be appreciated. We aren’t allowed to mount anything in this house at the moment.
And finally, I’m a nervous momma. We had a nest doorbell at the other house but I broke it trying to move. With my kids being in a new place and just for safety purposes, I could use a doorbell camera. My doorbell is attached but broken so it doesn’t always work.
My daughter is coming home at the end of the month and she didn’t have a mattress or bed or dresser. She could do with a bed and vanity I think. I have all kinds of construction to do on these houses so anything you have I could probably use. We need curtains, a dog pen or wireless fence with collar because my service teacup yorkie keys escaping through the wrought iron fence in my backyard. Above toilet storage. I have an entire living space without any furniture. I need nightstands. A decent size kitchen garbage.
Oh, and I have a lawn mower but my weed eater needs a new fuel injector. The HOA is after us because the prior tenants haven’t mowed in months.
Thank you so much! As I get these houses squared I promise I have about 6 years worth of kid clothing and toys and books to share. Maybe some other valuables."
That's her entire post. I had a lot of thoughts, and wondered what this group would think. One thing that was slightly amusing is that the only neighborhoods with wrought iron fences in our group are way more expensive than where the majority of the people live. I was waiting to see the request for anti-fatigue kitchen mats, stylish matching lawn furniture, and a designer dog bed but sadly didn't see it. So far the only comments have been recommending that they look for stuff that had been offered previously in a group, and one person offered two bar stools.

2024.05.07 21:05 metswon2 Do you have the Ryobi 13 in. 11 Amp Corded Electric Walk Behind Push Mower?

Good afternoon,
I have scott's reel push mower. I have an incredibly small front lawn, so tehnically there really isn't a reason to purchase a lawn mower. But electric/gas cut grass real nice and even..pick up the clippings, etc. I really don't like the reel mower to be honest. I've had it for like 6 years I guess. I really don't want to spend any money, but I saw a youtube video for the Ryobi lawn mower. Seems perfect for me. Home depot sells it for 200 bucks..so that isn't gonna happen,lol... Do you know where I can find these little lawn mowers for cheaper?
Also, what are some pros with a regular lawn mower opposed to a push one
Thanks!

2024.05.07 20:52 Steve_mind Manual or hydraulic lift?

im shoppping for my first ride on garden john deere lawn mower. I test drove my first one ever, which had a hydraulic deck lift. GX325. We found another John Deere, GT325, which has a manual deck lift. It is $300 chepaer and 400hours less. I wont be able to test drive it for some time, but im curious if manual lift is that much more difficult then a hydraulic? If i go with the manual i can save money and hours. Thanks

2024.05.07 20:38 DragonfruitGlum7494 Small lawn steep slope, not to perfect ground, which mower

Hello, I have about 100m of sloping ground to mow, I think about 7-10% grade hill. There are several moles, taupe holes and small decorative trees to work around. I need something very lightweight (under 10kg) but still cuts (preference that it leaves the grass on the ground but if needed I can empty a basket) . I am torn between flymo and ryobi as I dont want to spend a bunch. Since I cant test either in person, could someone maybe say which is better? The flymo has really bad notes on amazon so Im a bit worried to buy it, but the Ryobi RLM13E33S is a heavier so Im not sure for a small person with a bad back that its not to heavy. I want electric as a battery gets drained to quickly on the slope (I have one and after 10 minutes its out of stream). The grass is also often wet, but I imagine any will have a problem with that - if its a matter of unblocking the port its not a problem. Thank you in advance
