I have a BA in English language and literature in LU I took really high grades and now I work in an NGO I do data evaluation/monitoring but because of my language skills I'm writing reports, project proposals, translating and helping in project implementation.
I finished my degree in 2022 and after at least a year of experience here I want to find a job in Beirut and apply for an MA in AUB. Is it worth doing? I think it will boost my language skills on my cv. I also plan to do an MBA in another country bas I don't wanna get ahead of myself rnš . I don't even know if I'll get a job in Beirut next year to be able to do a masters in 2025 but I want to plan anyways.

The Grim Grotto and the Hostile Hospital are my favorites that ironically bring me back to a certain happy place. That series shaped so much of my personality and attitude and taught me how to cope with my fucked up life with dry and dark humor as kid. It also influenced my writing style in school and learn how to creatively break typical structure and interest in more challenging literature at a young age (im not that smart anymore but it was pretty cool for a kid). The weight, the fat, now pulse wave velocity. Doing it like this might look nice for people how measure once a month or so, for all regular, daily user though the graph becomes a straight useless line even though one had big ups and downs to explore and look back to! Have look at the App Happy Scale, they know how to present graphs. Once you have worsened the scale stuff I moved to that App, now the pwv becomes kinda useless as well. I do prefer the units of the actual measurement, why hiding it. Where is the optimal, normal and suboptimal range in the graph which helps motivate? For context, I am a 12th Grader who took Technical Drafting & Animation as my strand. Although I went to that strand for Animation, Technical Drafting overtook the majority of my senior school year, only having Animation for only a single quarter through the entire SHS year (7/8 Tech. Drafting vs 1/8 Animation). At the start of 3rd quarter for Grade 12, our major decided to let us apply for a certification for Technical Drafting NCII. At the time, I decided to take the chance in getting the certification. I figured that I may never be able to have the opportunity to take animation in the future. But because the NCII assessment was ācancelledā and Animation became the final subject, I eventually got the opportunity to be a part of the college that has my dream course. As of now, our major teacher once again mentioned a scholarship regarding the TESDA assessment for Tech. Drafting NCII.

I was loved along with my brothers. But was in fact neglected at times. I got the traits of my father and just like him, I was a player. I had a crush on every female I saw. Looking back at what an old friend told me in 3rd grade I'll never forget. ''You date every girl you see'' and he was in fact correct. I'll always get feelings for girls I was so desperate. 3rd set of data recording expedition drops all on one server. Tonight it seemed like this server was distributing prefixes very evenly so I was going to run expeditions as long as I could. I ended up crashing and couldn't get back into the server, I was hoping for 20 expeditions minimum but ended up with 15 expeditions + 1 eviction notice. Out of 108 legendaries Ghoul slayer and medic were the most predominant with 12 drops. This is the type of distribution that I would consider in line to be RNG. Again I wish I could've gotten a bigger sample size but the server was dead when I crashed and I was the only person on my the team so I couldn't get back in.

Eventually, I found a boy I remembered from kindergarten in my old school district and we quickly became friends, he introduced me to all his friends, one of which was a boy who we can call J to protect his privacy, we were close friends and started to catch feelings later on, Covid hit 2 years later in our 8th-grade year and we stayed in touch during the beginning of Covid until he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes, we dated for around 4 months only ever hanging out with our group of friends, only ever cuddling on the couch.
We eventually broke up over the phone (because of COVID-19) and he was very honest telling me he wanted to start dating because he was lonely, we didn't speak till about 3 years later during his and my Junior year of high school. We didn't share lunch or any classes so we stayed acquainted till senior year.
Up to speed now: Recently (our senior year) we've been spending close to half our days together, I get to school around 8:00 AM and wait for him, we park next to each other and walk in together. We eat lunch in the same classroom, while I use the last 10 minutes of our lunch to freshen up in the bathroom he plays volleyball with his buddies until we sit together in our English class, I walk him to his 6th period before I head home (I don't have a 6th period), we became best friends quickly. I didn't start to question the way I felt about him until last week when he dropped everything he was doing one afternoon to walk around a mall to find prom accessories in the bad part of town so I wouldn't feel unsafe. On the way back I asked if he wanted to do something else together, whatever he wanted as payback, and he wanted to go climbing on a bridge near our houses. Seeing him in his element, and looking at his face now makes me feel something that wasn't there before.
I spoke with my therapist today about this and she helped me realize something was happening in me that wasn't there before. I went to a mountain near my house to think everything over. I concluded it wouldn't be smart to tell him, at least now right now. We are going to prom together as friends, and on a road trip this summer. As well I'm currently ovulating so this could be my lady brain telling me that every man I have an emotional connection with should give me a baby. I can't ruin one of the only good friendships of this lifetime because my uterus wants a baby, especially in the last four months of my time here before I go to college in the fall.
I need help with this, any advice you guys have would be taken wholeheartedly and if you've lived through this and made it out the other side I'd love to hear your stories. Thank you for reading and for your advice.

2024.05.07 07:10 Lumpy-Ad-2941 How do I talk about it without people thinking iām a total nut job?
If anyone who has even done as little as talk to someone, anyone about ocd pls help. So I have magical thinking ocd, counting ocd, and symmetry ocd. Even though I have all 3 it pretty much leads back to magical thinking ocd bc I arrange things and count them in fear of something really bad happening.
For reference; Iām 16. I developed mtOCD when I was probably in 2nd maybe 3rd grade. My dad was an alcoholic and I thought if I did certain things my parents wouldnāt fightā¦or at least the fights wouldnāt be that bad. I also played softball, donāt get me wrong I love the sport, but I was so scared of messing up that I thought if I did certain things I would not mess up.
I am now aware that realistically doing this that or the other is not going to make a difference, but I canāt seem to brake that habit. I was getting a little better, but now itās worse than ever. Like Iāve been staying up all night, it takes me so long to do anything, one of my issues is counting how many times I swallow my spit (gross ik) but I have literally done it to the point where my throat burns really bad and I feel super nauseous multiple times this week.
Itās getting bad and I really wanna talk about it, but I donāt know how. If anyone has any advice please please share. Thx

From my study, it appears that China's fertility rate was on a swift decline in the years leading up to their one child policy (enforced from September 25, 1980 to January 1, 2016):

If this is true, why did China enforce such a radical policy, frame it as an emergency, and delegate so many resources to having its plans carried out with merciless urgency if it was so evident that this policy would sink their already sinking fertility rate, likely below replacement level? Of course hindsight is 20/20, but am I to believe that in all of their calculations they never considered the negative effects that sub-replacement fertility could have on their society? Or that the extreme measures--from forced sterilizations, forced abortions, to compulsory adoption of its excess children--seemed justified and necessary when the fertility rate was already nearing replacement level with no signs of stopping?

We have talked a lot about this yearās rookie class. There were some exciting picks and the group got high grades from almost every draft analyst. Letās turn our focus to the class of 2023 and talk about those players.
The biggest jump for most players is from the first year to the second year. Having a season of experience makes a big difference, even if the player didnāt get on the field all that much. They went through Training Camp. There was a year of practice. There was weight training and classroom time. And all of this at the NFL level. As advanced as college football is these days, the NFL is still on another level.
1 ā Jalen Carter
Carter played at a high level as a rookie and was dominant at times. He finished with 6 sacks and 8 TFLs. Carter wonāt have Fletcher Cox this year and will get a lot of attention. It will be interesting to see how he handles that.
1 ā Nolan Smith
Howie Roseman talked this offseason about the need to get young guys on the field more. Nolan Smith played in all 17 games, but only finished with 18 tackles and one sack. He didnāt get nearly enough time on defense. I think Howie and Nick Sirianni realize they should have played him more. That isnāt to say Smith was going to fix the defense and lead the team to the Super Bowl, but feeding extra reps to older pass rushers and having Smith watch wasnāt ideal.
3 ā Tyler Steen
Steen played in 11 games last year, with one start. He is the front runner to be the RG this season with Cam Jurgens is sliding inside to center. Steen will have to earn the RG job since he didnāt play a lot last year. Steen has good size at 6-6, 321. He is a solid athlete. Steen was drafted to be the RG of the future.
3 ā Sydney Brown
Brown showed good promise as a rookie. He played in 14 games, with 6 starts. He had 45 tackles and an INT, which he ran back 99 yards for a TD. He played fast and aggressive. Unfortunately Brown tore his ACL late in the season. He seems to be ahead of schedule with his rehab and might not miss as much time as expected. Brown can be a key role player in the secondary this year and could start in the future.
4 ā Kelee Ringo
Ringo could go from an Octopusās Garden to being a starting CB this year. He played in all 17 games last year, with most of his time on STs. He did start 4 games and showed good potential. The Eagles spent their first two picks on corners so that tells you they view Ringo as still a bit of a mystery. He has good size at 6-2, 207, but isnāt a great athlete. He will battle Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean for the ability to start opposite of Darius Slay. Ringo wonāt have the pressure to win a starting role this year. He does need to show that heās taken a step forward from last year and could be a starter in the future.
6 ā Tanner McKee
McKee played well in the 2023 preseason and we didnāt hear anything after that. Now heās stuck behind Kenny Pickett as well as Jalen Hurts. McKee is a player the Eagles were excited to get last year and he showed why in his preseason play. It will be interesting to see if he can push Pickett for the #2 job this summer. McKee is a long term player. He could be the backup of the future so the team just wants to see progress this season.
7 ā Moro Ojomo
The Eagles deep DL last year meant Ojomo didnāt play much. He was limited to 8 games. Ojomo played well in the preseason and then flashed at times when he did get on the field in the regular season. The Eagles need him to become a key contributor this season. Milton Williams will be starting and Ojomo and Marlon Tuipulotu will become the top backups. Ojomo is a good run defender and also shows potential as a pass rusher. Iām excited to see what he can do.
UDFA ā Ben VanSumeren
Nakobe Dean and Devin White are the projected starters for this season. The team looked hard at LB draft prospects, but didnāt end up taking anyone until they picked Jeremiah Trotter Jr in the fifth round. The fact the team was so patient at LB makes me wonder if they are higher on VanSumeren than we know.
UDFA ā Mekhi Garner
Garner bounced between CB and S last year. I hope the team now leaves him at safety, a position where I think he can carve out a role. He played in 3 games last year, but didnāt record any stats. He has good size at 6-2, 212. Garner lacks ideal speed (4.55) and his skill set fits in nicely at safety. With Brown on the mend, the #3 safety spot is wide open right now. This is a huge opportunity for him.
UDFA ā Eli Ricks
Not everyone was cheering the addition of Mitchell and DeJean. Ricks played in 16 games last year. He had 19 tackles and broke up 3 passes. There were times when he looked really promising.

Micah Parsons beat him cleanly on one play. Parsons beats just about everybody at some point. Steen didnāt get down on himself and kept battling. I think he can take a big leap forward this season. It prevented a first down. VanSumeren is a gifted athlete. He was raw due to the fact he moved from FB to LB in the middle of his college career. If he continues to develop positional ability and improved instincts, he could be a really interesting player in the future.
UDFA ā Mekhi Garner
Garner bounced between CB and S last year. I hope the team now leaves him at safety, a position where I think he can carve out a role. He played in 3 games last year, but didnāt record any stats. He has good size at 6-2, 212. Garner lacks ideal speed (4.55) and his skill set fits in nicely at safety. With Brown on the mend, the #3 safety spot is wide open right now. This is a huge opportunity for him.
UDFA ā Eli Ricks
Not everyone was cheering the addition of Mitchell and DeJean. Ricks played in 16 games last year. He had 19 tackles and broke up 3 passes. There were times when he looked really promising.

Set Up: ā¢ 1 Battery E340 Doorbell - Events ā¢ 2 E330 Professionals - CVR ā¢ 2 Solo S340s - Events ā¢ 1 Indoor S350 - CVR ā¢ 1 Indoor Cam Mini - CVR ā¢ 1 S380 Home Base Each camera was set to record at their respective maximum resolutions and each sending their data to the S380 Home Base on a brand new Crucial 4TB SSD. I also spent +/- 50 hours over that period maintaining the AI detection checks. Everything was great. Not a single complaint. A few days ago I decided to add 1 more E330 Professional (bringing my cam total now to 8). Setup and install went smooth like usual. Then an hour or so later, I received a notification that the hard drive was removed from the Home Base. I was able to mess around with it, unplug, remove drive, reinsert, etc. and was able to get the Home Base to recognize the drive again. Though the Home Base was very hot and I could audibly hear the fan going hard so I removed the top cover so it could get the most ventilation. I woke up the next morning to the drive being not recognized again and attempted the same thing I did the night before. The Home Base will not recognize the drive. It operates fine otherwise. I even checked the drive with my PC and the drive is functional and in good condition. One thing I found odd was that the drive was split into at least 8 or 9 400gb partitions. I donāt know if thatās just how the Home Base formats or if thatās part of the issue. I did delete the partitions and reformatted the drive. The Home Base still wonāt recognize it. The first rep/tech over the phone led me to believe I potentially overloaded the Home Base by adding the 3rd E330 Pro Cam and that it really only supports 4 CVR cameras. I mean I guess that makes sense, CVR in 4k and 2k is a lot of data. But then I see this on Amazon that it supports up to 10 cameras and then the S380 User manual that it supports up to 16. And then this saying ādonāt worry if it gets hotā. Anyway, theyāre sending a replacement S380 and Iām not very happy about all of this wasted time and now to wait another 3 - 7 days to get the new Home Base sitting on my nearly useless set up. (Not completely but still.) And most of my cams are nearly permanently mounted so dismounting to get close for repairing is going to be a pain. I have seen others have the same issue and I wish Eufy had both a better answer and a better remedy. This experience has been insanely exhausting and frustrating. |

I consider myself a Demiromantic Asexual since since I was 17 yrs old since I read about it online and found the label to be very fitting. I have always felt asexual for a long time, but when really looking back at how it came be, I doubt of its validity.

As far as I remember, ever since I was in 2nd grade, elementary, my mother (who was a very helicopter parent that time and in the next years) told me; 'to not have any relationships and that if I do have a crush on someone, I should tell her'. It gave me an impression that having feelings is wrong..like..it didn't feel right. I know I was just a small child and having crushes is normal- but ever since..it didn't feel normal. At that time, I conditioned my brain to not have feelings for anyone, like, shutting down my own ability to have any romantic attractions. I forced myself to for my mother. Because I thought that time if I do were to have crushes or have relationships later in life that isn't after college- I would disappoint her. Why was I like that? I suppose it has something to do with my personal, familial and cultural background; (asian children needing to respect their parents' every word, me being the eldest sibling and only girl gives me a huge burden of responsibility to be compliant and obedient, and me being very meek and a people pleaser especially in the past.) Then ever since, I had no interest in boys, romance, or relationships (sex is off the table) compared to my classmates. I pictured myself to be a single independent person in the far future and I was simply content with that.

Fast forward to when I was 17, my classmates shipped me and my male friend and their teases and jokes made me super uncomfortable i wanted a way out of it. Somehow..I thought of labeling myself as an Aromantic (which was a lie btw) but when I told my male friend (who we were both mutual crushes that time too) about it, he broke down crying because he thought he'd never have that "chance" with me..or experience (he was a very physically affectionate type of person with high libido whereas I had no libido at all). So, to change that I switched my label from aromantic to asexual in general since I did felt just falling anywhere in the ace spectrum. The time he confessed to me was never a good memory. I actually didn't know what to do at all. I have been a loner all my life. I didn't know how friendships, let alone relationships work. So you know what I did? I turned to my parents for guidance. Biggest mistake of my life. So much hurt especially from my mom (my dad was chill compared to my mom) who immediately assumed what happend and yelled at me then banned me from hanging out with the said guy who was my friend who confessed. It was a complicated story but my mom assumed that my friend r*ped me and proceeded to lecture me on teenage pregnancies because that's a prevalent issue in my country. That traumatized me. I was unable to speak and reach out to anyone for a while....I was even more alone in school. I actually liked giving him hugs every time before we part ways after school, but my mom told me to never hug him again, that girls should never hug boys in general too. So..I did that..for a while. My whole relationship with was full of confusion and hurt, despite there being love, affection, and good times from him.

Our relationship became somewhat official in the 2nd year since the 1st one was a situationship more or less. but even on the 1st year we were already physically intimate with each other because he wanted physical intimacy from me. But after a long while, I didn't feel anything from his touches and such..feels like a brick wall. The physical intimacy became too much for me that it felt nothing. I really struggled with the relationship because as an ace I felt the constant need to be physical and sexual with him because that's his love language whereas mine are words and quality time...Fast forward to the 3rd year of our relationship, we broke up, its another long complicated story that involved drama again, arguements and miscommunications with friends and family as well. I felt broken and sad and thought that i'll never enter a relationship again since I struggled with trust. But..after thinking and reflecting for a while, I wouldn't actually mind entering a relationship in the future if possible. I like the idea of having a relationship without any sexual intimacy required. When I told my therapist of my concern last February that I'm an asexual and my ex-partner was hypersexual (allegedy because I made the claim and he, my ex before, denied it), he said that it's not very good and I could tell from the look on his face that this relationship was bound to not last long at all...he also confirmed that it was toxic. He asked me some questions as well that really made me re-think about my sexuality and relationship which have made me reflect deeper in the past few months.

I took my exam with this class April 3rd, my first final, and he still hasnāt uploaded the grades anywhere. š© this is especially frustrating as Iām graduating, and a lot of jobs want at least my unofficial transcript and my GPA, and it looks incomplete without that grade. Itās the only grade Iām missing and will really weigh into my Gpa depending on how I did. Iām also trying to plan my future Masters, and itās kind of hard to do that because I still donāt know what my GPA is.
Plus early in the semester bro straight up gave me a 0 on one of the assignments because he forgot I did a presentation, so I might need to also appeal this grade if itās clear he didnāt update it. I really have no idea how I did in that class as we didnāt get a lot of grades back in the first place.
How long do we wait for a final grade before we should try and meddle a little? I feel like a month is some serious waiting time for a grade. I know people have waited longer, but isnāt there like a 10 day limit for professors to do these things?
