So I hate pinning things. While scrolling through Reddit I came across to comment saying that someone stapled instead of pinned. Most staplers you can turn the little metal underneath part around so it Staples outward instead of inward (if that makes sense, you can see in the 2nd picture, it makes the staples look like ----)
When I first started making corsets the first couple mock-ups I've made I've struggled to keep the lines lined up where I need to sew. One major thing that helped was facing the area or the spot that where I need to join the fabric in the photos you can see the red line over my markings on the fabric. If the Fabrics extra thick I might iron this inward as well but the major thing that has helped the most and my seams are perfectly straight now is using the stapler trick in the seam allowance and just below the seam allowance it keeps it perfectly straight doesn't break my needles and they're quite easy to remove. The only issue I could see is if you have a fabric that's really prone to having a run in it or snag but so far I haven't had any issues like that while removing it I can remove it by hand or pliers actually work better you can kind of twist the staple to pull it out but because they're almost straight it's almost like a perfect pin!
With how small of a difference between sizes on a pattern for a corset and how wonky my seams kept being I was really starting to get discouraged and almost gave up on trying to make one because it seems like the sizes and no matter if I use the same pattern or not just kept being different every time the stable hack has been a life changer my seams are perfect now. I just wanted to share for anyone else who might be having the same issue that this might help bonus points I don't stab myself nearly as much anymore the downside is I go through a lot of Staples. You just got to make sure that the stapler you use has the little plate that you can twist for it to work.

Hi! I kind of refuse of buying knitted sweaters considering I can knit 🙃 this to say, I am in love with this and it looks quite simple but I found no pattern like this online. I like that it is cropped, it has no rib (at the sleeves too), the boat neckline and dropped ballony sleeves. Hi Reddit! Hoping you can help me here…I’ve been wanting to wallpaper my boring narrow entryway for awhile now. Ever since before I moved in, it’s had this textured wallpaper with an almost whitewashed looking wood trim with these plastic dividers. It doesn’t match anything in the house, and I’m ready to make it look nice.
I got a sample of peel and stick wallpaper and tried it over the weekend existing textured wallpaper last week (not pictured). You can’t see the texture underneath the sample, which is great, but it did start peeling pretty quickly. I can get my chosen pattern in peel and stick or traditional, but either way, it’s clear I’ll need to do some prep of some kind. So I decided to see if I could maybe peel up the existing wallpaper.
I always assumed that the little plastic dividers were just there to cover gaps in the wallpaper or something. I’d pulled at them before, and could never get them out. Today I busted out some needle nose pliers and tried to pull it, and though I can get it to wiggle, some of it just snapped off. I can also now see that the dividers seem to be H-shaped, and they seem to actually be holding panels together. I didn’t expect that at all.
So now I’m really not sure what to do. I know the end result I want - wallpaper on the top half, and either beadboard wallpaper or regular beadboard on bottom - but I’m not sure if I should be just trying to cover the existing wallpaper with wallpaper liner, or if just painting it with bonding primer would be enough. I’m not sure removing the existing wallpaper would help much since it seems to be on panels, and I don’t know what on earth to do with those plastic dividers since they seem to actually be holding some things together.
Preferably I don’t want to take things apart too much, but I don’t know what next steps should be. Any advice would be appreciated!
