2024.05.19 12:00 MeetingPretty8434 Cant Accept My Husband wasn't in to his ex when we started dating...advice?

Me ans my husband have been together for over 10 years straight. When we first got together he let me know hus ex gf at the time still texted him and he'd respond usually. Mostly one word answer, he even showed me. I never had to ask him.
Before we got very far in our relationship, I think our first kiss? I told him I didn't think I was comfortable with him maintaining a relationship/communication with her given his exes reputation as a homewrecker and several other things from when me and my husband were just friends. He texted him that things were long over between them and never responded to her again after I asked him to make a choice.
She tried for over a year to get him back, texts, facebooks messages from multiple accounts even having her parents at one point reach out to try and grt my husband bad but they all were ignored.
To me I can't imagine maintain any kind of communication with an ex. My Husband says at the time he was just genuinely trying to be a good person. That if he had had wanted to go back to her he could have.
How should I feel? This is really stupid I know but it's causing me and him to argue so much right now because I can't accept he had no interest in her.

🔗Carhartt Insulated Bib Coveralls - Black

These Carhartt Men's Washed Duck Insulated Coveralls have been my go-to choice for work and outdoor activities. The cotton material has a comfortable and almost broken-in feel right out of the box, making them perfect for long hours on the job. Plus, the quilted nylon lining with midweight polyester insulation keeps me warm even in the coldest temperatures.
One thing I noticed, though, was the adjustable closure. It's great that it's adjustable, but I found it a bit tricky to find the right fit. And while the full-length two-way zipper with storm flap is helpful for easy on and off, the brushed tricot trim on the interior collar doesn't seem to stay tucked in as I'd like.
Overall, I'd say these coveralls are a solid choice for a rugged, insulated workwear with some minor adjustments needed.

🔗Carhartt Insulated Bibs: Warm and Durable Work Coveralls

https://preview.redd.it/jj6di5r8wc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a6b1a530525c9afb9168552bdfb6a9bdce671d2
The Carhartt insulated coveralls are the perfect addition to my work wardrobe. The 12-ounce, 100% ringspun washed cotton duck fabric feels both durable and comfortable, allowing me to focus on the task at hand without any distractions from my clothing. One of the features that stood out to me was the quilted nylon lining, which provides a midweight polyester insulation that helps me stay warm during the colder months without overheating.
While the ankle-to-waist zippers are convenient for easy entry, I found it a bit cumbersome to reach the pockets of my work pants underneath the coveralls. Additionally, the 360-degree kick panels make it easy to keep out the cold, but I wish they had a two-way function for a more comfortable fit. Overall, I believe the Carhartt insulated coveralls have a lot of potential, and with a few improvements, they could become even more versatile and comfortable for those of us who work long hours outdoors.

🔗Carhartt Firm Duck Insulated Bibs: Rugged and Breathable Workwear

https://preview.redd.it/vobepd69wc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ebe26aa44ac667d9771db7cf09577d9ad767f947
These Carhartt Loose Fit Firm Duck Insulated Bibs are a dependable companion for those who work hard, play hard, or love to stay warm in various weather conditions. The quilted nylon lining around the waist area ensures easy on and off, while the polyester insulation provides mid-range warmth.
The bib pockets are useful and practical, with plenty of room for your belongings. Despite the occasional fussiness with the pockets, reviewers have praised this bib's durability, ease of movement, and smart design aspects.
It's been a consistent, hardworking favorite in their wardrobe, which speaks volumes about its value and the confidence one can have in Carhartt's craftsmanship.

🔗Carhartt's Flame-Resistant Quilt-Lined Duck Bib Overall - High-Quality, Heavy Fabric Workwear

https://preview.redd.it/3xpz36k9wc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d0a2ea78f45059d665896afcdce05589fb8f013
During my journey of using the Carhartt flame-resistant duck bib overall, I found myself in situations where I needed to put it through some tests. After wearing it for a few weeks, I noticed that it met the expectations for durability and warmth, as it's designed for cold weather work. The bib overall had a high back with elastic suspenders and center-release buckles, which improved its longevity by providing sturdiness. However, I also noticed that it lacked a few features that would have made it more comfortable, such as a soft fabric lining.
Through my experience, I have discovered that this bib overall is great for those who need flame resistance and warmth in their workwear. While it might not be the most comfortable option, it does offer a level of protection and durability that many other options cannot match. Additionally, I have found that it's suitable for people who are taller, as the leg zippers go ankle to thigh, providing enough room for easy on and off. Nonetheless, it is essential to follow safety precautions and take proper care of the bib overall so that it serves its purpose effectively.

🔗Warm and Durable Carhartt Duck Bib Overall with Insulation and Tool Pockets

I recently had the chance to try out these Carhartt Brown Duck Bib Overalls with a quilt-lined design. First off, let me say that I was impressed with its durability right out of the box - it felt heavily built and sturdy, perfect for tackling any task on hand. The quilted lining made it an ideal choice for colder months, keeping me warm and comfortable even when the temperatures dipped.
One of the key features that stood out for me was the zip-to-knee leg zippers. It made getting in and out of them a breeze, especially when I needed to switch between tasks or remove them quickly during a break. Plus, the fact that it accommodates kneepads was a huge plus, offering great protection for my knees and back.
However, one downside I noticed was the zipper on the back left pocket. It seemed to stick occasionally and wouldn't close properly, resulting in a bit of hassle when I needed to access the tools stored inside. The pocket design also wasn't as deep as I would have preferred, which made it more challenging to hold larger items.
Despite that, my overall experience with these quality Carhartt bibs was quite positive. The water-repellency ensured that I stayed dry even when working in damp environments, and the adjustable front-elastic suspender ensured a comfortable, customized fit. With a robust construction and multiple pockets that proved to be quite useful during my work, these bibs were a great addition to my collection.

🔗Carhartt Insulated Bib Overalls: Durable and Comfortable Winter Workwear

I recently had the chance to try out the Carhartt R02 Bib Overalls and I must say, they exceeded my expectations. Constructed with a mid-weight nylon quilted to polyester lining, these bib overalls are perfect for cold weather. The high back with elastic suspenders and leg zippers with protective wind flaps and snap closure make them both comfortable and functional.
One of my favorite features is the ample storage provided by the hammer loop and ruler pocket on the left leg, and the tool pocket in the right leg. The addition of metal rivets at stress points and double knees with clean out bottoms also adds value to the product. While the reversed leg pocket configuration may take some getting used to, overall, the Carhartt R02 Bib Overalls are a great investment for those who want warmth and durability in their workwear.

Buyer's Guide

Carhartt Insulated Bibs are designed to provide warmth and protection for outdoor workers, hunters, and enthusiasts. These bibs are made from durable materials and come with features that enhance their functionality and comfort. This buyer's guide will help you understand the key aspects of Carhartt Insulated Bibs and make an informed purchase.

https://preview.redd.it/26xc5foawc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c0f2d65ceddf6a47d31dcd94440a1880a3787e8

Materials and Insulation

The primary concern when purchasing insulated bibs is the quality of materials and insulation. Carhartt Bibs are generally made from heavy-duty cotton or a combination of cotton and polyester. This combination provides superior warmth while maintaining a high level of breathability. The insulation is commonly in the form of fleece or quilting, which traps air to keep you warm in cold temperatures.

Style and Fit

Carhartt Insulated Bibs come in different styles, including full bib, waist-length, and jacket-style bibs. Full bibs provide maximum coverage and warmth, while waist-length and jacket-style bibs offer more flexibility and ease of movement. The fit of the bibs can range from slim-fitting to loose, so it is essential to choose a size that provides a comfortable, yet snug fit. Additionally, consider the adjustable shoulder straps and waistband, which allow for a custom fit to ensure maximum comfort and warmth.

Durability and Maintenance

Durability is a critical factor when investing in Carhartt Insulated Bibs, as they are designed for heavy-duty use. Look for reinforced stitching, ripstop fabric, and tough zippers to ensure long-lasting performance. The bibs can be machine-washed and dried to maintain their durability and prevent shrinkage. When washing, follow the manufacturer's instructions to avoid damaging the insulation and materials.

Additional Features

Some Carhartt Insulated Bibs come with additional features that enhance their functionality and comfort. For example, some bibs may have pockets or hidden stash pockets for storing tools or personal items. Reflective trim or piping can be useful for visibility during low-light conditions. Also, consider the bib's ability to be worn in different configurations, such as zipping off the jacket or converting a full bib to a waist-length bib for added versatility.
When purchasing Carhartt Insulated Bibs, consider the materials and insulation, style and fit, durability, maintenance, and additional features. By taking these factors into account, you can make an informed decision that best suits your needs and preferences. Always consult the product specifications and customer reviews before making a purchase.

2024.05.19 11:59 lynne314 How to get back into the fandom?

This might be super silly to ask about but I really don’t know how to feel involved or part of the fandom anymore. For context I first started listening to bts in 2017 when I was 13! I even joined those amino groups when they first started (even the ones with txt!) LOL. School and life got hectic which eventually lead to me slowly becoming detached to them and their music around 2019/2020. And it wasn’t just bts, it was nearly every kpop group or band that I stopped partaking in. I still listened to some songs but not nearly as much as I once did. Eventually I stopped checking in with what every member was doing and stopped watching the “run bts” along with any shows they would be guests on. However, I’m 20 now (about to be 21 in June :D) and recently I’ve found myself missing them and being obsessed with their music.
They brought so much joy to me and I really miss that era. It’s been so long since I’ve actively been part of the fan base that I’m so lost on current events and minobig changes that have occurred over the years. I know about their military status! There’s just so much to catch up on that makes it feel hard to actually get back into them.
I’ve started listening to their music again, wondering if I should just find a timeline video from 2019 to now 😭? I really just don’t know where to start.

2024.05.19 11:57 Interesting_Tangelo1 My cat is destroying me (and my carpets)

Might be a lengthy read.. I always try to give as much detail as possible..
My Mathias is a 7/8 year old neutered male. I found him during a road trip at a truck stop in the middle of no where when he was about a year old. Love him to death. He's the sweetest boy.
We moved to a new apartment back in November. He was great for a few weeks and then everything went downhill again and my carpets were ruined in my living room. In case anyone is wondering, yes, the issues were present anywhere else we've lived as well..
Believe me, I know taking him to the vet is the first step. I took him twice within a month since December last year. Blood work, urine test, fecal test, x-ray.. $1000 later and they said he's slightly constipated, but other than that, completely healthy. He was on dry food up until then because I actually had no idea wet food was better. So since then, he's been fully on wet food with probiotics and Metamucil added (vet recommended). I know saying to go to the vet is the best advice in this scenario usually, but I really wanted to make clear that he's gone and he's healthy.
More context that might be important.. He's fat. He lived with my family while I was in school, and ballooned up in weight. So right now he's on a diet and he's not a very happy camper. So.. not perfectly healthy, but he doesn't have a UTI and his kidneys/heart/etc are fine.
Over the last couple weeks he's started peeing on the carpets in my bedroom. The living room is blocked off so he can't get to the carpeting in there anymore. I'm losing my mind. Last weekend when I barely opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was him peeing. Thing is, he does this and then runs to his food bowl. Maybe 30 minutes ago I turned around and he was peeing in that same spot again. And when I got up to grab paper towels, he ran straight to his bowl. Is this to get my attention? I typically feed him right when I wake up, so when he peed last weekend, I waited nearly an hour to feed him. I didn't want him to think that pee = food. I'm not sure if that was right to do, but I wasn't taking any chances.
I tried everything I saw when I read on reddit about people in similar situations. But I usually end up seeing most advice being about taking the cat to the vet, which is why I'm making my own post.. I've gotten additional litter boxes, different typed of boxes (high sides, low sides, extra wide, etc) I've used different litter (he ended up only liking the one he's always used), I clean the boxes 2 times a day, I've moved the boxes to where he's peeing and he will use it, but he'll still go on the floor next to it. I got a litter robot and then returned it because he wouldn't use it.. I've done almost everything I can think of except hire a behaviorist.
His behavior typically is very laid back. He just wants to be pet and take naps. He'll usually lay on his back next to me so I can scratch his tummy. He likes to play with my hands and run around. Nothing about him tells me he's stressed or unhappy, but I could be wrong? I figured the move at first would definitely stress him out.. but 6 months?
I'm exhausted. I've lived here for 6 months now and I will not have any friends over because I'm SO embarrassed of the smell. It's awful. Those of you who have had cats like this know the toll this takes on your mental health.. I've had this cat for almost a decade. Giving him away is literally the last thing I want to do. But I can't do this for another 5-10 years. I'm at my limit. He's been banished from my bedroom tonight and I put his beds in the kitchen (tile flooring). It breaks my heart leaving him alone like that. I just don't know what to do.
Please, if anyone has dealt with a cat like this, let me know if anything you did helped.. Recommendations for cleaning products to get rid of the smell would be great too.. I've made my peace knowing I'm not getting my security deposit back.. Thanks <3

2024.05.19 11:57 scalloped_tatters Venice, Paris, New York

Carcosa is a city. Or maybe a city state. Or maybe both a city and a state, like its twin, New York. From what we hear, I imagine that it's seen better days - that faded glory suffuses everything, from the crumbling city walls through to the tattered robes of their ruler himself.
I said that New York was its twin, and that is true. A city that feels like it's sinking back into the marshy island on which the Dutch settlers first started building. Not the New York of the late 20th century, rampant in its pursuit of greed and young flesh. It's clear why the king was attracted to the city, no? Now of course he has remade this capitol of capitalism into an image of his own city state. Decayed and decaying, the desperation of the homeless and destitute only matched by the terror of the elite that their grip is slowly slipping and so they double down into balls and parties and decadence.
Three hundred years ago, it would have instead have been Venice. Masks and assignations, and spies and secret police. A nexus between East and West, it's ships plying their trade along the coasts of the Mediterranean, the red-gold pennants of San Marco resplendent in the pale gold light. I wonder if he saw the same ineffable quality in the reflections from the grand canal as he saw in the waters of Hali? Is that why he brought Napoleon to its gates, prostrating the city, and bringing it to its current state of a mere bauble, stained and marked by the twin floods of the rising lagoon and clueless tourists.
Between those, there was Paris. The city of light, at the fin de siècle when art and pleasure collided. His interest is well documented - after all, that is where the play was born. That is where he first let the yellow sign be given greater prominence in the supposed fiction of a romance writing hack. But why then? A hundred years earlier was the revolution, a hundred years before that the court of the sun king. One would think that these would draw his gaze more than a collection of artists and dancers at the moulin rouge.
Maybe we should look at what came after. A cultural revolution, a bloody war. The seeds for the hegemony of the American imperial dynasty. And after the war, the blooming of the sexual revolution and the twisting of its message. Art seeps through everything in the twentieth century. Art which has been twisted into a mind numbing propaganda utilised to its greatest effect by the studios and publishing houses of the hegemony.
The mistake that we make when we consider the king in yellow's assault on our world is too think of it in the constrained, linear perspective by which we view time. The king is reaching out to change our world simultaneously across the course of civilization; Venice, Paris, New York and countless others. To resist his influence we must understand his purpose as a whole, and hope that our ancestors and our children are doing the same. Let's gather here and share our knowledge. Where else have you seen the hand of the pallid king on the tiller of history?

2024.05.19 11:56 Reyloca Being with someone struggling mentally is probably one of the hardest things I've ever experienced in my life.

We are both in our mid 30s and we met around 1 and half years ago. The connection was instant and we fell in love pretty quickly, things were perfect for half a year until I noticed that her mental state started to decline and she started to slowly "unwind".
First it started with chaos and not cleaning up after doing something, then her libido suddenly disappeared and she started having compulsive thoughts along with not being able to sleep properly.
After 6 months of just doing absolutely nothing to tackle this sudden change of personality, I finally convinced her to see a specialist. She was diagnosed with OCD and it's been a rollercoaster of emotions so far.
This is putting myself to a huge test. I have to be patient with her constantly, I do the entire household work and have to tackle her changes of mood. She barely wants to get out of the house, and stays in bed until early afternoon.
The woman I knew is completely different now, but with the medication there are some periods of where she's the same as I remember.
I've grown increasingly moody, depressive even and found myself being jealous of her exes and the fact that they experienced her when she was completely fine. The lack of sexual intimacy is also taking a toll on me as I see it as one of the major ways I connect with someone emotionally.
There are times where she cries and asks me if she's making me unhappy and miserable. I lie and tell her she doesn't.
Let's see how things are in some months.

2024.05.19 11:56 Aggravating-Spite192 My story

Hi everyone, I apologize in advance for my English but I'm using a translator. My name is Gianluca, I'm 28 years old and I've been suffering from tinnitus for about three years. Unfortunately, I developed it after a micro-aspiration to remove an earwax plug. in the first week I developed tinnitus in my left ear, and then it also moved to my right ear. after a month I noticed that when I swallowed I heard a sort of "crack" in my ears, and it never went away. I've been through a lot, ending up depressed and having bad thoughts. I had many peaks that then more or less resolved. but unfortunately the worst part was yet to come. for about three months I have noticed that every time I am near a white noise such as a fan, air conditioner, a fridge or the noise of cars, water etc. they caused a kind of extra sound similar to that of an ambulance. it scared me and I ended up depressed again and I left my girlfriend even though I loved her with all of myself, it was a horrible time. three months have passed and the symptoms are practically the same, my brain or my ears don't want to make at least this problem disappear and leave me with my usual tinnitus... why do I have to suffer so much? Wasn't tinnitus enough to ruin my life? should this strange distortion or reactivity also be added? I also have slight hyperacusis, but I can live with it do you have any experience on this? I know there isn't much advice I can give other than protecting your ears etc but is there anyone who has had something like this and recovered or improved? I apologize for the inconvenience

🔗Camo Insulated Rugged Flex Men's Jacket: Comfort, Durability & Mossy Oak Pattern

https://preview.redd.it/lqwwde0gvc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3bf382b76ec9dd3560e9e10a00dcf6289ff1a360
My Carhartt Men's Rugged Flex Duck Camo Active Jacket has been a game-changer in my hunting adventures. I've been using it for the past three hunting seasons, and it's been nothing short of amazing. The first thing that caught my attention was its durability; it's held up against some harsh weather conditions. The Rugged Flex stretch technology and elbow pleats allow for easy movement, which is crucial when I'm tracking down my prey.
One of the most impressive features is the DWR finish that provides excellent water resistance. It's kept me dry even during unexpected downpours. The Mossy Oak Bottomland camo pattern truly helps me blend in with my surroundings, making it easier to stay hidden from my quarry.
However, there are few things that could use some improvement. The loose fit means I sometimes experience a bit of wind coming up, but it's not too much of an issue. Additionally, while the zipper quality is solid, it could be slightly longer, as suggested by other reviewers.
Overall, the Carhartt Men's Rugged Flex Duck Camo Active Jacket has been a reliable companion on my hunts, protecting me from the elements and enabling me to focus on the task at hand. If you're in the market for a well-constructed and comfortable hunting jacket, this one should definitely be on your radar.

🔗Carhartt Classic Brown Duck Coat with Corduroy Collar

A couple of years ago, I purchased the Carhartt Men's Firm Duck Chore Coat for myself when I was gearing up for a cold and windy construction project. The first thing that stood out to me about this coat was its heritage-inspired design, reminiscent of the pocket watch era. As time went on, I had the opportunity to test its claims of being water-repellent and wind-resistant, and I can confirm that it lived up to my expectations, even in harsh conditions.
One significant highlight of the Carhartt Chore Coat is its corduroy collar, which has been in use since the late 1930s and has that classic, timeless look. Additionally, the rugged firm-hand duck fabric not only gives it a sturdy feel but also becomes more comfortable with time, making it a reliable piece of outerwear.
As much as I love this coat, it does have a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, the length of the sleeves can be a bit too long for some users, with some having to size down to ensure a comfortable fit. Secondly, the coat's collar could be slightly wider to provide better protection against the wind.
In conclusion, the Carhartt Firm Duck Chore Coat is the perfect choice for those who prioritize comfort, warmth, and durability in their outerwear. Its timeless design and high-quality materials make it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking for a reliable coat that will stand the test of time.

I recently got my hands on the Carhartt Rain Defender Relaxed Fit Hooded Shirt Jacket in Black Heather and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer in my daily life. As an avid outdoorsman, I appreciate the flexibility of this jacket - it's suitable for various weather conditions.
One thing that really stood out for me was the adjustable hood, which ensures good visibility even during a downpour. The high collar also provides additional protection against the elements.
Another highlight is its durability. The Windfighter fleece, combined with the Rain Defender finish, makes it wind and water-resistant, while its triple-stitched main seams add extra strength. Notably, there are ample pockets for all my essentials.
However, there's one issue I encountered with the hood design. It can feel awkward if worn with a cap, though a beanie or hard hat doesn't pose the same problem.
In terms of sizing, I found that the medium size fits perfectly, providing enough room for layering without compromising on comfort. The length of this jacket is another praiseworthy feature - it's just right, even without the 'tall' version.
Lastly, while it's not technically a winter jacket, I believe that with some insulation, it could be the perfect companion in winter. Overall, the Carhartt Rain Defender is a reliable go-to for various weather conditions, offering comfort, durability, and functionality.

I recently got my hands on the Carhartt Super Dux Relaxed Fit Lightweight Mock-Neck Jacket and I must say, I'm quite impressed. The jacket provides excellent protection against wind and light rain, making it perfect for those chilly days when you're outdoors. It's a great piece to layer up with during mild winters.
One of the standout features of this jacket is its flexibility. Thanks to the Rugged Flex stretch technology, I can move freely without any hindrance - whether I'm running errands or engaging in some physical activity. The wind-resistant fabric ensures that my body stays warm even when there's a chill in the air.
However, there's one drawback that I've noticed - the collar. It feels a bit too large and tends to get in the way while turning my head. It would be great if Carhartt could address this issue in future models.
In terms of pocket storage, this jacket delivers as well. There are several secure zipper pockets both inside and outside, allowing me to safely stow away my essentials like tools or supplies.
Overall, the Carhartt Super Dux Relaxed Fit Lightweight Mock-Neck Jacket has become a staple in my daily outdoor wear. Its lightweight design, coupled with its wind and water resistance, make it a practical choice for anyone who spends time outdoors. Despite the minor issue with the collar, I'm highly satisfied with this jacket.

🔗Carhartt Realtreed Xtra Camo Sherpa Lined Active Jacket

https://preview.redd.it/qo0me0ohvc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=119c6715543338880779bc3fcf9bb6e35bebc6c9
Carhartt's Men's Super Dux Relaxed Fit Sherpa-Lined Camo Active Jacket is a warm and durable piece of outerwear that's perfect for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts alike. I recently purchased one in Mossy Oak Bottomland Camo, and I must say, it has quickly become my go-to jacket for all my outdoor adventures.
The first thing that struck me was the quality of this jacket. The 18.1-ounce, 97% nylon/3% elastane fabric feels sturdy and well-made, offering excellent wind resistance and a sprinkle of light rain protection. The Sherpa lining inside is incredibly soft and cozy, keeping me warm even on the chilliest days.
One aspect I particularly love about this jacket is its spacious interior pocket. It comfortably holds my essentials without weighing me down or restricting my movement. The secure zipper left chest pocket is another useful feature, providing an easy-to-access spot for my phone and keys while I'm out and about.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks to the Carhartt Men's Super Dux Jacket that I think are worth mentioning. Firstly, the adjustable hood with a hidden drawcord and cord lock is a nice touch for safety, but I've found that it can be a bit difficult to adjust while wearing gloves. Secondly, the lack of elbow or armpit gussets means that the jacket doesn't always move with me as smoothly as I'd like, especially when reaching or lifting objects.
Despite these small issues, I'm overall very satisfied with my Carhartt Men's Super Dux Relaxed Fit Sherpa-Lined Camo Active Jacket. Its comfort, durability, and practical features make it a standout choice for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors.

🔗Carhartt Washed Duck Insulated Active Jacket

https://preview.redd.it/4bdckzxhvc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=36a6bbe7e0c8d9b493a04c4249b5b155cca4c5fb
As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, I have to say that the Carhartt Men's Washed Duck Insulated Active Jacket has been a game-changer for me. I've had this jacket for several months now and it has held up incredibly well.
What stands out the most to me about this jacket is the heavyweight cotton duck fabric. It's not only warm and durable, but it also has a nice, broken-in feel to it that makes it super comfortable to wear. The 3M Thinsulate insulation adds an extra layer of warmth without making the jacket too bulky or heavy.
One feature I really appreciate is the attached hood with low profile adjustment. On windy days, this hood helps keep me protected and warm. Plus, the cord locks make it easy to adjust the fit without having to deal with annoying drawstrings.
Another positive aspect of this jacket is the updated lower front pockets. They're now lined with brushed tricot, which makes them feel much softer and more comfortable against my skin. And when I'm out working in the cold, I love how the pen stall in the right, lower front pocket lets me keep all my essentials close at hand.
However, there is one aspect of this jacket that could use some improvement - the side pockets. They could definitely be deeper, as they don't provide enough room for storing larger items like smartphones or wallets when you're on the move.
Overall, the Carhartt Men's Washed Duck Insulated Active Jacket is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and stylish cold weather jacket. The durability and thoughtful design features make it well worth the investment, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

🔗Carhartt Super Dux Insulated Jacket for Men

https://preview.redd.it/a8870zgivc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e730e82932cb7e639a5ab1bf179935b5175c57ce
The Carhartt Men's Super Dux Relaxed Fit Insulated Jacket was my go-to for those chilly days. On my latest project in the backyard, the wind was relentless and the rain was coming down hard, but this jacket held its own. The 100-gram Thinsulate insulation kept me toasty and the Rain Defender technology ensured I stayed dry.
One of my favorite features was the Rugged Flex technology that allowed for unrestricted movement. The bi-swing shoulders and flexible elbows made reaching up high or bending over a much easier task. I never felt trapped in the jacket, even when I was getting really active. The hood was also a game-changer, able to protect my head not only from the rain but also from the wind. Plus, the detachable feature was super convenient - I could remove it on warmer days or when I needed to interact with someone face-to-face.
However, I noticed that the interior storm cuffs were loose and didn't keep out the draft as well as I'd like. And while the length was perfect for my needs, it might not suit everyone. Despite these issues, the jacket's high-quality construction, impressive warmth, and rugged design made it a reliable addition to my wardrobe for those harsh conditions.

🔗Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes Insulated Active Jacket - Black

https://preview.redd.it/dgjxdyqivc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38aea4fb9e9855187f660b64af25d37d392586f3
Recently, I purchased the Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes Insulated Active Jacket, and I'm quite satisfied with its performance. As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, it's important for me to have a jacket that's not only durable but also well-insulated and wind-resistant. This active jacket did not disappoint.
The first thing that caught my attention when I received the jacket was the 3M Thinsulate insulation, which provides excellent warmth without feeling too bulky. I'm particularly fond of the hood design, featuring a drawcord and reflective Carhartt patch. The hood not only keeps me protected from rain and snow but also ensures visibility during nighttime activities.
However, one area where the jacket could be improved is its zipper quality. While the plastic zipper works fine, I'm more accustomed to metal zippers, which are generally more reliable and durable. In addition, the jacket can be somewhat noisy when walking due to the swishy fabric sound - not ideal for hunting purposes.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I believe the Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes Insulated Active Jacket is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a reliable and well-insulated winter coat. Its attractive design, variety of pockets, and comfortable fit make it a versatile option for both recreational activities and daily life. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase and believe many others will be too.

🔗Carhartt Youth Canvas Insulated Hooded Jacket - Mossy Oak Country DNA

https://preview.redd.it/h1pq5j6jvc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a97cea9c48e41af642305cb09c6436c6033c7afd
I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of Carhartt - especially their Camo line. That's why I decided to get this Canvas Insulated Hooded Jacket for my son. Let me tell you, it has been a game changer this hunting season!
First off, the quality is top-notch. This jacket is made with heavy-duty canvas and features triple-stitched seams. Even after several washes, it still looks brand new. The quilted flannel lining on the inside also ensures that my boy stays warm and comfortable no matter how cold it is outside.
One of my favorite features of this jacket is the hidden rib-knit cuffs. They keep his wrists toasty and make sure no wind or sleet sneaks in. Plus, the insulated front pockets are perfect for storing his hands or keeping small gear close at hand while he's out in the field.
Now, let's talk about the hood. It's full zip, so it provides ample protection against rain, snow, or even those pesky mosquitoes during summer months. And speaking of zipping, the main zipper is high quality and doesn't get stuck or catch on the fabric.
While the jacket isn't water-resistant, it does dry relatively quickly when hung up, making it easy to clean and maintain. The only downside I've noticed is that the sleeve length could be a bit longer, especially if your child is taller than average.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this Camo Canvas Insulated Hooded Jacket from Carhartt. It has everything a young hunter could want - durability, comfort, and style. If you're looking for a reliable and well-made jacket for your little outdoorsman (or outdoorswoman), look no further than this one.

🔗Carhartt Gilliam Insulated Jacket

https://preview.redd.it/nkwzggnjvc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ac560b72162b731e103f7cc19c56e940946dfda
I recently got my hands on the Carhartt Men's Black Gilliam Jacket and oh boy, it's been a game-changer for my daily life! This insulated jacket is not just about keeping you warm during winter, but also about providing you with some real protection from unwanted dampness. The DWR finish ensures that you stay dry and comfortable even when the weather takes a turn.
One thing I truly appreciate is the zipper closure feature. It's a small detail, yet it does an excellent job of keeping out the cold winds. Speaking of features, it comes with heaps of pockets - some even have protective closures. This means you can carry all your small work essentials without worrying about losing them.
Now, let's talk about the cons. Though I'm not usually bothered by minor issues, I must say the length of the sleeves could be a bit longer. It may not be a problem for everyone, but it did catch my eye.
All in all, the Gilliam Jacket has definitely earned a place in my wardrobe. Its water-repellent capabilities, the myriad of pockets, and the overall comfort it provides make it the perfect companion for these colder days. So if you're looking for a reliable work jacket that doesn't compromise on style or functionality, this one's a solid choice!

🔗Carhartt Men's Full Swing Steel Jacket in Black

https://preview.redd.it/ed4oog2kvc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c64e5eca091121737bcf3d52378aee0819058f35
I've been using this Carhartt Men's Full Swing Steel Jacket for a while now, and I must say, it's been a reliable companion through the colder months. Its 3M Thinsulate insulation keeps me warm and cozy even during the harshest winters, and the DWR finish makes sure I stay dry even when caught in a rainstorm.
One of my favorite features is the detachable hood. It gives me personalized styling options depending on my mood or weather conditions. The jacket's rugged construction is also worth highlighting, as it's made of stretch ripstop for extra flexibility and freedom of movement.
However, I've experienced some issues with the zipper quality. It can sometimes get stuck or hang at every little wrinkle, which can be quite frustrating. Another minor issue is the sizing, as the jacket tends to run on the smaller side, but that's easily fixed by choosing a size larger than usual.
All in all, I'm quite satisfied with the Carhartt Men's Full Swing Steel Jacket. Its combination of style, comfort, and functionality makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a versatile and reliable winter jacket.

🔗Carhartt Men's Super Dux Traditional Insulated Coat (Black) - Relaxed Fit, Machine Wash

https://preview.redd.it/or65m7dkvc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=223f52063a4f689bc57b66eea80b81090db51c79
I recently purchased the Carhartt Super Dux Relaxed Fit Insulated Traditional Coat to stay warm during those chilly winter days. The coat's 7.75-ounce nylon fabric is treated with Rain Defender durable water-repellent finish, ensuring that I stay dry even in heavy rain. Additionally, the Wind Fighter technology effectively blocks the wind, keeping me cozy and comfortable.
One of my favorite features of this coat is the quilt-lined insulation with 100g of 3M Thinsulate, providing excellent warmth. The secure hook-and-loop right chest pocket and zipper left chest pocket are perfect for storing my essentials, while the two snap front lower pockets with side entry hand warmers keep my hands toasty. The interior hook-and-look pocket on the wearer's left side offers additional storage space.
I also appreciate the drop-tail hem, which provides extra coverage, and the adjustable hood with chin guard and hidden drawstrings, which protect me from harsh weather conditions. The rib-knit storm cuffs effectively seal out the cold, and the center-front zipper with kissing welt makes it easy for me to put on and take off the coat.
However, there are a few downsides to this coat. The side seam zippers, while providing added movement, can be a bit challenging to use at times. Additionally, the double-stitched main seam, although durable, can feel a bit stiff and may require some breaking in.
In conclusion, the Carhartt Super Dux Relaxed Fit Insulated Traditional Coat is an excellent choice for those looking for a reliable and warm coat for winter. Its unique combination of features, such as the 7.75-ounce nylon fabric with Rain Defender technology, Wind Fighter technology, and 100g of 3M Thinsulate insulation, ensures that you stay dry and warm in even the harshest weather conditions.
Although there are a few minor drawbacks, such as the stiffness of the double-stitched main seam and the occasional difficulty in using the side seam zippers, these issues do not significantly detract from the overall quality and performance of the coat. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this coat to anyone looking for a high-quality winter garment.

🔗Black Men's Rough Cut Jacket by Carhartt

https://preview.redd.it/czaf3k2lvc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bcc3b43f556beb9649b5c230cd8000bbf290a97c
Carhartt's men's Rough Cut Jacket, in black, is perfect for those chilly autumn days. This heavyweight flannel piece, with a sherpa fleece lining in its body and a quilted lining on the sleeves, offers both warmth and style. The original-fit shirt-jac features handwarmer pockets and zippered ones ideal for storing your wallet or keys. If you're an outdoor enthusiast, this jacket can withstand the elements, and after years of use, you'd be hard pressed to find any significant wear and tear on it. Although it's designed primarily for breathability and not as a standalone layer for keeping warm, it pairs beautifully with fleece or down mid-layers.
However, despite its high rating, the jacket does have a few minor drawbacks. The first is that the zipper tends to get stuck, particularly near the neck area, often requiring fiddling for a few minutes. Some users also mentioned they found the arms to be slightly short, as well as the jacket being slightly stiff when new. But these issues seem to be more common with the first batch, with newer models appearing to have resolved these concerns.
In conclusion, the Carhartt men's Rough Cut Jacket is a high-quality, stylish option that provides warmth and comfort while maintaining a sleek appearance. Its wind resistance and pairing ability with other layers make it an ideal choice for fall and winter outings. And although the stiffness and the issue with the zipper might be present initially, they seem to resolve with time and use. Therefore, I would recommend this jacket to anyone seeking a reliable, durable option for their outdoor activities.

Buyer's Guide

Carhartt Hunting Jackets are designed to provide durability, comfort, and functionality during hunting trips. In this guide, we'll cover important features, considerations, and advice for choosing the right Carhartt Hunting Jacket to suit your specific needs.

Important Features

https://preview.redd.it/5o6ft62ovc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6dc9ed3b6ae9d42a3da3ad1ea62358b68c8ddccf
  1. Durable Materials: Look for jackets made with heavy-duty materials such as cotton duck or polyester, ensuring they can withstand harsh hunting environments and regular wear.
  2. Insulation: Insulation is crucial for maintaining warmth and comfort in cold weather. Consider water-repellent insulation like Thinsulate™ or Quick Dry technology, which dries faster than traditional materials.
  3. Pockets and Storage: Pockets are essential for storing gear and easy access during hunts. Choose a jacket with multiple pockets (including interior and exterior), preferably with zippers or toggle closures to secure items.
  4. Ventilation: Proper ventilation helps regulate body temperature and prevent overheating. Look for jackets with vents, mesh panels, or breathable materials that allow airflow.

Considerations

  1. Weather Conditions: Consider the typical weather conditions of your hunting location. If it's usually cold and wet, opt for a waterproof and insulated jacket. For milder conditions, a lightweight jacket with good ventilation might be sufficient.
  2. Camouflage Patterns: Choose a camo pattern that blends well with the environment where you'll be hunting. Some popular options include RealTree AP, Mossy Oak, and Carhartt's proprietary camo designs.
  3. Fit and Comfort: Ensure the jacket fits well without restricting movement. Consider adjustable features such as cuffs, waistbands, and collar for added comfort and customizability.
  4. Safety Features: High visibility elements like reflective trims and bright colors can enhance your visibility and safety in low light conditions or near roads and highways.

General Advice

  1. Read Customer Reviews: Read reviews from other hunters to get valuable insights about the performance and reliability of specific Carhartt Hunting Jacket models.
  2. Invest in Quality: Although high-quality Carhartt Hunting Jackets may have a higher price tag, their durability and performance make them a worthwhile investment for serious hunters.
  3. Regular Maintenance: Clean and dry your jacket according to the manufacturer's instructions to maintain its water-repellent properties and extend its lifespan.
By considering important features, weighing relevant considerations, and following general advice, you can make an informed decision when choosing the perfect Carhartt Hunting Jacket for your unique needs and preferences.

2024.05.19 11:56 bowline56 Durable socks for routes in the 200km+ range.

Some time last year, I went on an 80km walk over two days and the first thing in my gear to fail was my socks. Both days, before getting anywhere near the 40km mark, I'd worn right through the sole and transformed them into glorified ankle warmers.
One pair was a bridgedale liner / outer combo and the other was a pair of 1000 mile socks which evidently lasted no-where near that long.
I've got a 200km route to do next month over four days and was looking for people's reccomendations on socks that can handle that kind of distance. I rarely tape my feet so there shouldn't be any more friction than normal, although I am supposed to carry additional weight which might effect how quickly I wear through them?
Preferably, I'd want to carry no more than a pair of socks for each day although if there's no other option I could probably bite the bullet and take more.
Cheers in advanced. Any info helps.

It’s your first year of college, and after a few months of having your whole dorm room to yourself, you come to find you’d be getting a new roommate to split the room with. After all, it did come with two beds, two desks, etc. It was a bit nerve racking for you, especially since you were pretty shy.
In a recent change of policy, it was also announced that due to housing problems and an excess of students, co-ed dorm rooms were a possibility, now opening up the thought that your new roommate could be a boy.
Two days later there’s a knock at your room door. Before you’d even get a chance to get up to see who it was, you hear the door unlock from a keycard, and inside steps this rather preppy looking guy. He has on his college jacket, chewing gum in his mouth as he tugs in his large suitcase and gym bag, finally turning to make eye contact with you.
“Sup. Guess this is my new room.” he says, tossing his backpack down beside the bed he would claim to be his, now taking a moment to plop down into bed and relax for a minute on his back. What you didn’t know was this would only be the beginning for you, and his lust and desire for you would quickly start to build, especially when he’d come home drunk from a party to find you laying in bed on your stomach with your feet and bottom towards him.
Message me for list of details so we can set something up. Looking forward to your message.

2024.05.19 11:55 Honeysyedseo How to Use AI in SEO Without Getting Penalised by Google

How to Use AI in SEO Without Getting Penalised by Google
Google is penalising AI content.
331,846 Organic Traffic
Here’s why:
Yes, that is a real graph of an AI site...
  • 330K/mo organic traffic
  • Down to 216/mo (basically 0)
  • From 69,056 total AI articles
Looking back even further, their peak was 607,200/mo traffic.
Then they were hit by the August 2022 Helpful Content Update:
607,200 Organic Traffic
“AI content must be bad then, right?”
Not exactly. I’ve used AI in SEO campaigns for over 2 years now.
AI SEO Campaigns
None of our projects have been hit by any Google update...
Websites that have been hit usually look like this:

1. Low-quality AI content

Low Quality AI Content
Let’s again look at the site that lost 330K/mo traffic overnight...
Their site consists of low-quality AI content and spammy pages.
For example:
Spammy AI Content
Comparing this with http://Byword.ai, the AI tool we use for our projects:
Byword Pringles Can Article

2. Poor execution

What if a site publishes higher-quality AI content but is still hit by a Google update?
It’s likely down to how it was executed.
I’ve seen sites with:
  • Duplicated pages
  • Poor title structure
  • Too little/many words
  • Inaccuracies from not testing outputs
For example:
A company used Byword to generate 2,300 articles.
They grew from 8K/mo to 100K/mo in 2 months, but lost 20K/mo traffic suddenly in one week.
79,849 Organic Traffic
So I had a look into it...
  1. They had 500+ duplicate articles, causing cannibalisation issues
  2. They ran outputs that didn’t answer the searcher’s query (didn’t review the quality of the outputs).
  3. They didn’t control word count, i.e. too long for the type of queries they targeted.
  4. They were targeting high-volume keywords that were not relevant to their industry or business.
Most of these issues were fixed in 2 weeks, i.e. deleting duplicates and redirecting them.
Traffic bounced back immediately and is now growing daily.
120,501 Organic Traffic
In summary:
If you’re going to use AI as part of your SEO strategy...
  • Learn the fundamentals first
  • Or get help from an SEO provider
  • Properly plan your campaigns
  • Generate high-quality AI content
And you won’t end up like this:
216 Organic Traffic

2024.05.19 11:54 VoidLordRK A fulfilled promise

Two years, I watched Your Name for the first time and absolutely loved it to the point I couldn't stop thinking about it for days. I couldn't stop the urge to rewatch so a few days later, I streamed the movie in discord with my friend because I had heard watching a movie with a first timer helps achieve that first time watch experience to a degree. My friend really liked the movie as well. In fact, he liked it so much, we ended up streaming the movie unhealthy amounts of times on discord to the point of obsession. Eventually, the film began to lose its spark for us so we decided to give the movie a rest and rewatch it together in real life two years from then, once we graduated. We hoped the 2 year gap would restore what made the film special for us.
That was in June 2022. After one slip up on November of the same year, I abstained from watching any clips or listening to any songs of Your Name in the hopes that I'd forget most of the movie and be able to get close to that first time magical watch.
After graduating a few days ago, I'm glad to be able to say we finally watched it yesterday. And it was fucking great. Watching it together in real life was way better than over discord and happy to say, some of the first time magic definitely returned. Having looked forward to for 2 years, finally honouring our agreement felt really satisfying.
We've agreed to rewatch the film the next time we are able to get together in real life, as a sort of tradition. It takes a special kind of film to bring friends together like Your Name did for me.

2024.05.19 11:54 elitemihi Seeking Advice on Finding a Job in Shanghai: EU Citizen with CS Background

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some realistic advice and insights on my current job search situation in Shanghai. Here’s a bit about my background and what I’m facing:
My Background:
Visa Situation:
Job Search Efforts:
Challenges:
Current Plan:
My Question:
I'm currently in a bind. With my background and qualifications, finding a good programming job in Europe wouldn't be too difficult. However, in Shanghai, it's been so challenging to find any job, even those I'm grossly overqualified for, no matter how much I lower my standards regarding career progression and compensation. Although I could find a remote job, that wouldn't solve my visa issue.
Given my qualifications and experience, what are the realistic chances of finding any job in Shanghai that provides a livable wage and normal work hours? Any advice on navigating the job market or improving my odds would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have insights on making this work?
Thank you!

2024.05.19 11:54 TheOnionSack When was the last time you cried during a concert?

Was it during a particular song that you love or that has a special meaning for you?
Was it just because you love the band/artist so much, and you thought would never get to see them?
Or was it a band you've seen lots of times and for whatever reason, this particular show turned out to be really special?
I shed a tear when I saw Radiohead in 2017, and they played Let Down. Almost 21 years to the day that I first saw them play this jaw-droppingly beautiful song live.

2024.05.19 11:54 kittyfantasticoco Should I buy a second hand sewing machine or splurge and get a new one?

Hey there! I've been getting back in to sewing and finally made a pair of shorts for the first time in twenty years. I bought a bernette 60 when I was a teenager and it's need of a bit of repairs and I thought why not buy a new machine.
I'm looking at the brother a80 which are around 650 new but have also found a second hand one locally for 350. It was bought within the last year and is still in warranty. It almost sounds too good to be true. I'm worried about spending 350 and it's a dud and then have to spend more on a new machine.
Thoughts? Anyone else out there had luck with second hand machines or should I just splurge and get a new machine?

2024.05.19 11:54 stvrlightt2008 I need some advice

Hello everyone this is my first post so I may be rambling a bit and also there might be here few mistakes in grammar
So I need some advice about how to deal with my father's decisions . My father M(47) has made a lot of depts from the bank as well as from family members and other relatives/friends. My father who grow up in poor family and who has very bad luck in business and office work my father had been accused of some very bad thing in the past because of that my father was not good for a lot of years even now he has not gotten the promotion he deserves or he should have . His college who started with him at the same time at the same company are where ahead of him and make almost 6 figures a year . Now from my childhood my family has never been poor or has never been in a type of situation where we might be a avictiated or have any problems with food, clothes. My mom who grow up in a very educational household by that I mean my grandfather was a principle of a school and had a very good reputation among our city. So obviously my mother side of the family is very well of their educationally well of as well. My father's side of the family was not well educated they had only gone up to the 8th or 12th grade my father is the only one who was very passionate about his education so he had to go through a lot to receive his education my grandfather did not support him neither it is sisters or brother he has six sisters and two brothers which and none of them supported him doing the hardest times of his life he worked hard to get everywhere he went he was a great father figure to me . Last year at march my father open a new business and was hoping to do well in his business but because of my father side of the family's greed he had suffered a lot of loss my father is a Banker so it was very tough for him to do both business and a job my mom was a great support for him but my father who had no supporters for most of his life I don't think he can trust anybody anymore not even me or my mom.me and my mom have a very close relationship we share everything with each other. My dad struggled a lot with his family my mom bought many lands from his family and helped my cousins rise up my mom and dad supported and basically raised my cousins for as long as I can remember Ever since I was two months old my cousin have lived with us for free my mom paid for the education and gave food like rice vegetables such other things for my dad side of the family to live but they where were Ungrateful till the very end they had accused my mum from stealing to not treating them right and every single thing they could accuse her of even though she she supported them for more than 20 years. Once I went to my youngest aunt's house they were talking about how my cousins were living at my house my youngest aunt started saying that her son and daughter can never visit their uncle's house because of how my mum treats them I was 13 at the time I set out loud what do you mean you never come to our house even when my dad was sick I had been in an accident you did not come to visit me once you said you were busy and I understood that that you could be busy about your life but how could you say that we do not treat you right when you don't even come to our house my aunt was very surprised and yelled at me for saying such stuff when I was so young that this is because my mother told me to tell everyone about this. And this was one of the many stories that I have about her bullying me and my mother she was the main leader of my father's side of the family my grandparents died when I was at least three or four years old I don't remember them much but from what I know or from what I remember they were not very kind people either my grandfather had burdened my mum with a lot of the things like cleaning his washroom and he would accuser that she was ugly and something like that as I do not remember much I cannot tell more about this sorry my mum and my dad forgave them every single time my cousins my aunts everyone bullied me and my mother and father recently my father's eldest brothers son he's also one of my eldest cousins called my mum to accuse my father of stealing from our land for context we own a lot of land in my father's home site and those were mostly sold to my mum by my father's second brother. And their farms in one way we were accused of stealing by eating our own planted weeds my grandfather's house which was very old was renewed by my mum as she had the money to do so but all the credit was taken by my oldest uncle and now his son was accusing us of stealing my mother became hysterical and started crying and start calling my dad she told him because of his wrong decisions because of his wrongdoings now we were suffering even though we were innocent we were never able to speak up about it not even now my mother's side of the family knows about this but they cannot do much because in our country it's never right to interfere between a in law's family.
So can someone give me advice about what I should do about this.

2024.05.19 11:54 Snoopstroll Light at the end of the tunnel

Hi all, I’m 31 and I’ve suffered from anxiety for years - this was mostly manageable on citalopram until I went on holiday to Mexico just over a year ago and was unable to do most things.
Since then it’s been a slow decline at work, and socialising in terms of what I can do.
The doctor switched me to sertraline on the 11th, 25mg for 7 days and then 50mg. The first 7 days was fine, I felt okish, no crazy side effects but vivid crazy dreams.
Now day 3 of 50mg and I feel so sick and anxious it’s unreal - actually at the stage where I can’t remember ever feeling not anxious, and whether il ever be quote on quote normal.
I’m signed off work at the moment, and I’ve got a support system around me - but I just feel like I want control back.
Idk, does this shit get better?

2024.05.19 11:54 ValeciaCho Maths Grad Dev/Tester Career Advice

I graduated with a BSc Maths in 2005 (Pass if anyone's interested), did a long stint in retail and had a few developer interviews, with no success, but still positive and encouraging feedback and I really enjoyed the last one. Finally landed my first office job in 2019 in sales/data admin and taken a couple other similar positions since in supply chain, but still, nothing CS related, at least, not directly.
Due to un-diagnosed ADHD, Dyslexia and possibly ASD, I was let go in 2022. Since then I have been trying break into the software industry proper. I decided last year to go in as a tester, as it's the most constituent role within the industry and I could get a recognised qualification. Finally got my ISTQB in April.
Brief breakdown of my programming skills:
I have been focusing more on applying for testing jobs lately, but decided to dust off the developer versions of my CV. I know I can get dev interviews, but no replies on the tester applications.
Programming seems to be the thing I actually seem to be good at and enjoy. My ADHD brain loves seeing the progress of my work and how I can keep hacking away at a problem, but I feel like a massive impostor. What if I get there and I have no bloody clue what to do or what I'm looking at? I'm trying to get around this by using code I find online in some of my previously mentioned projects. This way I have to look through code I've never written and understand it via dismantling it. Then adding new stuff for what I want.
Since my uni days, I could always see myself programming for a living and liking it, but the corporate world has shown me how brutal ppl can be, so tempering my expectations.
I feel lost. I know my first office job was through sheer luck, so I know I can get basic admin roles. Inputs and advice for breaking into the software industry appreciated.
Thanks

2024.05.19 11:54 CreamyTentacles Need Advice: Should I Split Expenses Equally with My Higher-Earning Boyfriend?

Hey everyone,
I could use some advice on a financial situation with my boyfriend. I'm 23M from Mexico, and he's 24M from Australia. We've been together for a year, though we met during a vacation and have only spent that time together in person. Since then, we've maintained our relationship through FaceTime.
During our relationship, my boyfriend has covered more of the expenses, including gifts, helping with my credit card, buying me food, help with medical bills, ordering me Ubers, etc. I never take advantage of his help; he always offers, he said that’s he’s way of showing affection due the distance and I accept every so often as a last resort. He earns 3-4 times more than I do, I have an average job, so I can't afford to get him as many gifts or contribute as much.
We planned a trip to Mexico for my birthday in August. He used his travel points to cover his AUS-MEX flights. We booked two hotels. National flights, carr rental and other costs in advance.
Here's where I need advice: he asked me to split the total expenses for the trip equally, including the plane tickets (excluding his AUS-MEX flight) hotels, car rental, etc. This surprised me because, given our income difference and his usual willingness to cover more costs, I assumed we'd split expenses based on our salaries. He understands that our quality of living is very different.
I have the money to pay my half from my savings, but it would mean working overtime to replenish what I need for university. I don't want to be unfair, but I'm not sure if it's reasonable to split everything 50/50 in this situation.
Should I talk to him about it or just pay my half and move on? I don't want to seem ungrateful or create tension, especially considering all the expenses he's covered so far and the help he's given me with bills, and I can definitely work OT, is not about the money for me but about the equity of the situation. Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!

2024.05.19 11:53 miserable_666_ Do hot girls really approach men?

I am a 22 year old male, who has problems with his dating life. I have a simple question: do hot girls really approach us? There have been some girls who wanted to talk to me but I didn't like them so nothing happened for the most of these times. Even gay men hit on me, but since I am heterosexual, I reject them. So, has any girl I like approached me? NO!(But I've been with a girl I like for a short time where I made the first step) I have been told that I am a really handsome young man by people around me, who are not even my relatives. I know I am not one of those super hot guys, but still I think I am hot, people around me think I am hot. What about hot girls? If they think I am hot(not a 9-10), would they hit on me?
