2024.05.19 17:15 butch_tits Mountain wedding help?

Please help! I’m going to my best friend’s evening time, super outdoorsy wedding at the end of September in the mountains of North Carolina. The dress code is listed as semi-formal, but then also says the vibe is that “the bride is wearing Birkenstocks.”
On top of my confusion with that, I have also recently lost about 60 pounds, and I expect I’ll lose a bit more before September rolls around. I’m still plus-size, and teeter between 14/16 at the moment. I am still incredibly self-conscious, especially about my arms, and I am very, very busty (H cups hooray 🙄) I just want to find something that I will be comfortable in and be able to stay warm in throughout the night. Maybe long sleeves? Either way, with how the dress code is described, I really don’t know where to start. Does anybody have any suggestions or places to look?

2024.05.19 17:14 EPMelodicAudit I saw a Klon (and TS10) in Japan!!

I saw a Klon (and TS10) in Japan!!
I was doing some shopping/window shopping in Osaka, Japan and came across a guitar shop. Of course, I’m a broke-ass bitch and with the plentiful Klon clones (Klones) available, I have no need to get it.
However, I’ve never seen a Klon in-person and was genuinely surprised by the size of the pedal! It’s hella massive. I genuinely was not expecting the Klon to be that large. You can see the KTR next to it as a perfect little side comparison.
Plus a vintage TS10 was there but who really cares that much. /s
The Klon was selling for ¥529,900 or around $3,404.54 USD. The TS10 was for ¥109,900 or around $706.09 USD.
Just thought I’d share this really cool find! In case you are interested, it was a guitar store called “2nd Street” (セカンドストリート楽器館アメリカ村店).
And sorry for the poorly taken photo. I can only be good at one thing, which is not photography nor playing guitar.

2024.05.19 17:07 bauzo Thoughts and a question on Benchmade and prices in general

Allright, I would love everybody's thoughts on this. I know we all have our own favorite makers and opinions on prices these days, but I have been struck by something recently that has been released at Benchmade, one of the makers that has been on the higher side of price for a while.
The Benchmade products I am specifically referring to is their recently released water series, specifically the folders (as I do not really pay attention to the fixed blade market a lot). I have not gotten my hands on either the large or small, but from all the reviews I have seen they seem to be well received and executed. The sizes seem good, the design (a brand new one unless I am missing something) looks great, their function seems very good, and the materials, A large piece of Magnacut and a Grivory handle, my understanding is for texture and grip.
So this involves price and value, for Benchmade products in particular but I guess others as well. I understand that there is probably no actual formula to set price for a product, say, materials plus labor times 40 percent or something, but looking at the Mini Adria, a 3.21 inch Magnacut blade at $225, versus say a Bugout, with a 3.24 S30v blade at $180. Both with Grivory handles and the same locking mechanism. Yes the Bugout blade is probably coated, there is still less of a price difference in these knives than I thought there would be. This is a similar occurrence with the Microtech MSI. Given their price history in the last several years I would have thought their first folder with a patented lock introduction would be more expensive.
So do you think that vendors are finally listening to the public and slowly stopping the increase of pricing, starting with new products? Or has Magnacut gotten over saturated as a product and its cost to suppliers is less than I was expecting it still would be?
Would love some thoughts on this.

E-trike Advantages and Disadvantages
https://preview.redd.it/ljp39ehbee1d1.jpg?width=2093&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f27ddb6d1ca20cb5949a79050027d8f0c605fca
f you are new to the world of e-triking and considering your first purchase, the advantages vs disadvantages of e-trikes is an important topic. What disadvantages will be experienced if I choose to get an e-trike rather than a “”normal” trike? The positives are many…more efficient exercise, hill-climbing power, plus great speed for crossing busy intersections. And don’t forget ease of use for people who suffer with arthritic knees, sore backs, degrading hips, etc. But what about the negatives e-trike ownership?
Advantages vs Disadvantages of E-trikes
Most e-trike riders are enthusiastic about the advantages of their electric vehicles. It’s also important to be aware of the disadvantages. Let’s take a closer look at those few disadvantages worth mentioning: weight, price, range, and maintenance.
Weight They are big and beautiful, and in general, e-trikes are heavier than conventional tricycles of the same size. A 20″ e-trike similar to the Mooncool TK1 Fat Tire pictured above can weigh upwards of 90 pounds. If handling that much weight is difficult for you, then you might have to get creative with some details of e-triking. For example, if you expect to transport the trike, make sure you have a plan for loading it onto a vehicle.
Be wary of e-trikes that weigh less than 80 pounds. Unfortunately, this type of e-trike normally has much less motor power and a less capable battery. Also, it is often more expensive.
Mooncool e-trikes provide greater stability, traction, power, range, and comfort. That additional comfort, power, and safety means greater weight is a necessity. You can’t have the combination of a sturdy frame, powerful motor, and long-lasting battery without the accompanying weight.
Price The ancient adage “you get what you pay for” can certainly be applied to e-trikes. To get all the advantages that come with a high-powered motor, strong battery, and comfortable fat tires — well, we have to dig a little deeper into the wallet. The very things that we love the most about e-trikes, including the amazing fuel economy, are the same things that add substantially to the price!
The Big Bucks Components Motor Battery Brakes
These three items account for a significant portion of the increase in price as compared to buying a conventional tricycle. The electric motor, preferably at least 500 watts, ads $350 – $500 to the price you pay for your e-trike. A decent battery adds $500-$900 — varying with size, quality, volts and amp hours.
The heavier weight of an e-trike makes disk brakes very advisable…either mechanical or hydraulic. And that will add another $50 – $250 to the cost of your e-trike.
A little quick addition tells you an e-trike can easily cost $1000 more than a conventional tricycle of similar quality. But what a difference! That $1000 expense makes cycling possible for many people who thought they would never ride again. This would not be possible without the assistance of a motorized tricycle.
Range Naturally, everyone wants an e-trike that can handle a long ride. Technology will eventually catch up with demand. Sadly, at the moment, we must be satisfied with lesser ranges. It is possible to configure your e-trike for carrying two batteries (also more expensive). Without 2 batteries, you can forget about riding more than 40-50 miles on a single battery charge.
If you are not content with a 40-50 mile range, then range must be considered a disadvantage. On the positive side, many riders find that they rarely have the need or desire to travel more than 20-30 miles on one ride. On average, with light-to-medium pedaling, most e-trikes can achieve a range of at least 30-50 miles. Also of real importance, range varies from person to person. It is vastly affected by terrain, wind, tire pressure, and rider weight plus gear weight.
If you are a commuter, an e-trike may well be a great solution to rising fuel prices. A 30-mile round trip could cost you $3-$6 in gasoline. The same trip will require only 4 cents in electrical costs for riding your e-trike. Every time you make a quick trip to the local grocer, that’s another $2-$3 saved in fuel expense. Over time, it adds up to a substantial savings!
Maintenance Owning an e-trike is a significant investment in better health, exercise, and enjoyment. Certainly, it follows that good maintenance is important. As noted above, motors can be expensive, and so can motor repair. Tires, battery, chain, frame, brakes…it all requires good maintenance habits.
Indeed, an annual trip to a local bike shop is a good idea, just to ensure you haven’t overlooked anything. Perhaps the most important consideration for your e-trike is safety–your personal safety as a rider. Of course, that makes regular and careful maintenance a priority for every e-trike owner.
https://preview.redd.it/g5gs5c7gee1d1.jpg?width=1827&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2fe27dc6863d0146b9ce390c14d7630451e88061
So there you have it–weight, price, range, and maintenance. All four are very important, and all four require extra expense for both the manufacturer and the consumer. Taking all that into consideration, here’s the big question:
All in All, do I Want an E-trike?
For most riders, the answer is an unequivocal “Yes!” The pleasures of e-biking are phenomenal, and the fuel savings are quite significant, accumulating quickly. Then, when you consider the health benefits, the pendulum swings far in favor of e-triking.
Additionally, many physically challenged people find that an e-trike makes all the difference. Suddenly, they can once again enjoy outdoor cycling, even as they gain in strength and flexibility. Senior adults who thought they would never enjoy any sport again are now riding e-trikes daily! Of course, for those with balancing problems, riding on 3 wheels instead of 2 wheels makes cycling possible again!
Lowering the Price Barrier Mooncool has a strong commitment to customer support. That commitment includes providing a high-quality electric trike at the lowest possible price point. 2024.05.19 17:02 Successful-Cover-693 [27/M] Embracing My Curvy Crush: A Personal Revelation

Hey everyone,
I've been doing some soul-searching lately, and I've come to a realization that I wanted to share with this community. For the longest time, I've found myself primarily attracted to women with slimmer figures. However, there's been a secret desire lurking within me, one that I haven't fully acknowledged until now – I have a genuine fondness for curvy women.
There's just something about the softness of curves, the confidence they carry, and the way they embrace their bodies that I find incredibly alluring. It's taken me a while to accept this preference, especially in a society that often glorifies one body type over another.
I want to make it clear that this revelation isn't about objectifying anyone or reducing them to their physical attributes. It's about recognizing and embracing what truly resonates with me on a deeper level. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and I believe it's important to celebrate and appreciate diversity in all its forms.
To all the curvy ladies out there, I want you to know that you are absolutely stunning just the way you are. Your curves are not only beautiful but also a testament to your strength and individuality. And to anyone else who may share similar sentiments, I encourage you to embrace your preferences wholeheartedly and without reservation.
Thank you for allowing me to share this personal revelation with you all. I'm eager to hear your thoughts and experiences on this topic.

2024.05.19 16:40 Fire_Cloud_Shoes Nike Confirms Sabrina 2 "Court Vision" From WNBA Star Sabrina Ionescu

Nike Confirms Sabrina 2
Nike, the leading athletic giant, has been relentlessly pushing the boundaries of innovation and design in its quest to produce the best athletic shoes in the market. After dropping the Nike Sabrina 1 to great fanfare in March 2023, Nike is set to release the second signature shoe for WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu. Fans and sports enthusiasts alike are eagerly anticipating the release of the Sabrina 2, which promises to be a game-changer in the world of basketball shoes.
According to Nike, the Sabrina 2 is built for players who want to accelerate and cut with quickness. The shoe is designed to be lightweight, comfortable, and responsive, making it an ideal choice for athletes who want to take their game to the next level. The shoe's design teams worked closely with Ionescu to combine the best of the Sabrina 1 with fresh upgrades, resulting in a shoe that is 28 grams lighter than its predecessor.
Nike Sabrina 2
Nike designed the Sabrina 2 with softness and stability in mind. The brand equipped the look with plush Cushlon 3.0 foam midsoles, a first for a Nike basketball shoe, which is contained within a firmer Cushlon foam carrier. The shoe has a Nike Zoom Air unit in the forefoot, which the brand said helps provide energy return and responsiveness, as well as an updated band system that wraps around the midfoot for a glove-like fit. Underfoot are rubber outsoles with a new "S"-inspired herringbone pattern for multidirectional traction, which is a nod to the initials and number of Sabrina Ionescu, who is a celebrated basketball player.
The Sabrina 2 is a shoe that is sure to turn heads on and off the court. Its sleek and modern design is a testament to Nike's commitment to innovation and excellence in athletic footwear. With its lightweight construction, responsive cushioning, and superior traction, the Sabrina 2 is a shoe that will take your game to new heights. Whether you are an aspiring basketball player or a seasoned pro, the Sabrina 2 is a shoe that you cannot afford to miss. So, mark your calendars and get ready to experience the future of basketball shoes with the Nike Sabrina 2.
The shoe features vertically slanted Swooshes on the medial side that strike through the stitchwork, which gives the appearance of shattered glass from the ceilings Sabrina continues to break. Nike has also included an exposed Swoosh and an "I" underfoot, which alludes to the hooper's last name and the exclamation point she puts on her game.
The Nike Sabrina 2 signature collection will be available in select colorways that will feature mirror-finished Swooshes. The brand stated that these serve as an affirmation from Sabrina to the next generation to see themselves in the shoe. The collection will be available in grade-school sizing, making it accessible to a broader audience.
Sabrina 2
Apart from the shoe, Nike and Ionescu have also created lifestyle apparel that reflects the baller's personal style. The apparel has personal design cues inspired by Sabrina's name and background. This includes two T-shirts, a hoodie, a short, and a reversible bomber jacket. The pieces feature her signature logo, which is an ambigram that takes on the appearance of a continuous link, honoring family and loyalty.
Nike has also announced that both the shoe and select apparel will be available in kids' sizes for the first time, including a hoodie and short. This move by Nike shows their commitment to inclusivity and making their products accessible to a broader audience.
The Nike Sabrina 2 signature collection is set to arrive on June 28 and is expected to be a massive hit among basketball fans and fashion enthusiasts alike. With its unique design and personal touches, the collection is a true representation of Sabrina Ionescu's personality and style. Nike has once again proven why they are one of the leading brands in the sportswear industry, constantly pushing the boundaries and setting new standards.
The Nike Sabrina 2 set to revolutionize the way basketball players approach the game, with its sleek design and innovative features. The Court Vision sneaker comes in at an affordable price point of $130, making it an accessible option for both amateur and professional players alike.
The first colorway to be released is the striking black and tonal purple design, which is sure to turn heads on the court. The black base creates a sleek and stylish look, while the tonal purple accents add a pop of color and personality. This colorway is the perfect choice for players who want to stand out on the court while still maintaining a professional look.
But Nike Sabrina 2 isn't just about aesthetics. Its innovative design features a lightweight yet durable sole, providing players with the support and traction they need to make quick cuts and explosive movements. The upper is made from a breathable material, keeping feet cool and comfortable during even the most intense games.
Overall, the Nike Sabrina 2 "Court Vision" sneaker is a game-changer in the world of basketball footwear. Its affordable price point, striking design, and innovative features make it a must-have for any serious player. Don't miss out on the chance to upgrade your game with the Court Vision sneaker.
Sabrina 2
Nike has been making waves in the WNBA with its recent news about Ionescu’s new shoe, as well as other deals with women basketball players. Nike revealed that WNBA champion A’ja Wilson will be their next signature athlete, with her shoe set to release in 2025.
Additionally, rumors have circulated about a reported eight year, $28 million deal with Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, which allegedly includes a signature shoe. Nike has yet to confirm the details of Clark's deal.

2024.05.19 16:35 Just-world_fallacy Joining solid granny squares and solid granny pentagon ?

Hello !
I would like to make granny square shorts following a pattern which uses a pentagon, squares and triangles. These need to be joined at the end.
Someone on this sub pointed out that it would be very revealing. Therefore, I would like to use solid granny squares/pentagons/triangles instead of the original ones. Plus, the size of my squares is constrained, I am obtaining the size I want by making 4 rounds of double crochets + 1 round of single crochets. It gives me 18 chains + 2 on the corner trebles on the edge of the square.
The problem I have is that I am not managing to match the amount of stitches on one side of the pentagon to the number of stitches on the side of a square, and I could probably compensate it in the joining process, but what if not ?
For the squares, the recipe seems to be always the same, starting with the 1st round being 3 dc - 1tr 4 times to make 4 sides. Next rounds will have dc-dc-tr-dc-dc in each corner stitch.
For the pentagon, I have tried 2 things.
1- following instructions which told me to start with the 1st row being a circle. It then becomes a pentagon by doing dc-tr-dc in the same stitch then a dc increase in the next one on the 2nd and 3rd rounds, then only dc-tr-dc in the corners for the 4th round and following.
2- Making a pentagon since the 1st round by including 4 trebles every 3 double crochets in the magic circle. 3 double crochets and 1 treble for a corner was the recipe for the 1st round of my solid square. Therefore I thought I would simply add one side to the pentagon.
With this method, I have the feeling that if I add the extra double crochet increase in the 3rd round, it gets pretty wobbly.
Except that of course the number of increases are not the same on the sides of the pentagon than on the sides of the square, the pentagon increases of 3 per side on 2 rounds, and then only by 2...
-> Now that I write this, I realize that after 4 rounds, my pentagon has 12 chains on one side including corner trebles. It should theoretically match my square if I do 3 rounds more. But would I be correct if I did this ? Or should I find a trick to match the number of rows AND final stitches on one side of the pentagon and squares ?
I suppose that in order to do this I would need to put more double crochets in the magic ring in the 1st row between the corner trebles.
I have some math to do, but if someone had an easy recipe for the length of one side of the pentagon to match the length of one side of the square, it would be perfect !
Thanks in advance for your help !

when i first woke up in bed next to a man
i realized why young women find it hard to leave.
.
who knew that two people could fill out
a twin-size bed so perfectly
with no room to spare
and still have sound sleep
.
like a child after a tantrum
or a drunk after the right number of drinks
.
then to my surprise wake up next to
bones skin warm blood
and wonder
.
how often do beautiful coincidences like these happen.

2024.05.19 16:18 No_Stress3476 6'4" black man from Toronto - my story of sexual frustration, not being able to move out of my parents, and why I feel hopeless after embracing the blackpill

Background - growing up I was socially stunted. Had a few flings in uni but since moving back home (Toronto is uber expensive and on my salary im afford to move out), dating has been a struggle. Im a 6'4" black dude who thinks of himself as well-rounded (I dress as well as I can, hit the gym 4 times a week, read a lot and am a history nerd generally while still liking "cool" stuff like watching basketball and listening to rap). The last 7 years I have spent trying to learn daygame, nightgame, because I am generally unable to have a fulfilling dating life off the apps.Unfortunately now Im at the point where im banned from tinder for making accounts too many times, hinge is very on and off (get quite a few matches but they rarely respond), and last few dates ive been on the girl has been less attractive than her pic and I cut things off. I am completely stuck in my head and unfortunately over past few years have embraced a bit of the blackpill mindset where literally your face is the #1 most important thing that matters to a woman. Walking around yesterday seeing couples of all shapes and sizes made me start to question my sanity. I start to think "wtf is so wrong with me" that not a single decently attractive woman would be open to starting a conversation with me? While I would love to embrace the Passport bros lifestyle, unfortunately right now my job ties me to this goddamn city. If men shorter than me and uglier than me are having no problem finding a decent relationship, its like what the fuck is wrong with me? I feel as though I am a complete repellant to women and as a man pushing 30 Im really starting to worry. I def want a long-term partner and family one day, but right now I feel that is unattainable. I'm not even looking for a long-term partner at this second just because I feel I have missed out on so many formative experiences with women, so right now I just wanna live the seduction reddit lifestyle. It's gotten so bad that ive been sleeping with escorts just to get myself off and prevent myself from going crazy - even though I know that shit is killing me on the inside. Starting to wonder if maybe my standards are too high, although i tend to think my standards are reasonable.

2024.05.19 16:15 saintlystuff Big Girl Stress

I’m size 16 (AUS). On the more mid-size part of big but still I am having so much stress and anxiety about even starting dress searching because I just never see anyone above a 10 on bridal websites.
obviously, I know brides who are bigger than a size 10 exist. but it’s really hard to look at a website or look at a shop that only has thin models on their previews. When I hit plus size dresses, I want to at least be able to see someone who looks like me in the preview.
It’s especially hard since I have a really huge bust and I see no one with my proportions let alone my size. even more so in the more edgy, editorial, modern styles. I love classic dresses but I really just want something super standout, super runway, super interesting but I just keep seeing really thin people and it’s stressing me out because I can’t envision myself wearing it.
I feel like my options are also super limited in Australia. I don’t know why. every time I look at dresses online, I literally just cry now.
