It all began when I first stumbled upon Inside Edition's videos of women - that's WOMEN getting slammed, insulted, and blasted for "showing too much of their body (with kids around)". Then it escalates further when they show a school is photoshopping out women's cleavages to make them look "modest" for their yearbook. I feel this type of treatment towards the female human is all wrong! Like, can't anybody learn to appreciate and look at the female body without censoring it in any way? Can't you let ANYBODY, including kids, get a chance to learn about the differences between the male and female human bodies????
Then comes along... you guessed it. That one video Inside Edition publishes. And after seeing her top blurred, my inner voice in my head: "That's the last straw!" Like, can't some of us get a chance to learn something new that just aroused our curiosity? Such as how the human body changes with time in terms of both genders? Like, now, I can finally visualize myself (my whole body) from little boy to fully grown man. But when Inside Edition published that footage, the new question that took me by storm is: what would a female look like from little girl to fully grown woman? At least this can give me a better visual illustration.
But with YouTube's broken comment system GHOSTING certain-to-random comments, even on my backup YouTube account, I can't seem to get ANY messages across!
Speaking of which, when I tried to post this on and , they BOTH perma-banned me for NO REASON and muted me from talking to their mods for 28 days!
Why do I say "no reason"?

Once more, I, along with these parents of their own daughter proved one major point: if a male can go topless/show their body, then so can a female - regardless of age!
Can't I get a chance to learn something new? Some evolution/development processes for certain things can be a little more complicated then you originally first thought.

I got banned from Lemmy social site servers for "CSAM" all because of this: the Napalm Girl pic and another thing I saw on Inside Edition's channel in addition to some nude statues - literally artwork of naked people - all because I was trying to protest ~the inconsistencies of censorship towards the female human~ - regardless of their race AND age!
Let me be clear on one thing: I didn't post any "CSAM" on the Lemmy servers! I'm protesting something that I feel is unfair towards the female human.

It's all thanks to some videos from Inside Edition's YouTube Channel.All these videos Inside Edition posted are developing a question in my mind that's getting the better of me: why so much hate on the female human - even as children? Like, why do they censor the little girl's chest? Can't anybody learn to appreciate the appearance of the female body? Just like those parents of their own 8 year old daughter, I too am genuinely outraged by this type of treatment towards the female human!
And what's the big deal with nipples? I'm just trying to ensure everyone is treated equally regardless of race, and gender... AND age (after what I just witnessed). And if no one's gonna speak up about this, I might as well step up to the plate. After all, somebody's got to do it!
That little girl in the final video made two non-verbal messages clear: one: if a boy can do it, then so can a girl! And two: no one is too young for anything! As long as you have the knowledge capacity and I.Q level to do it properly and safely, you'll be fine. I was able to refuel my dad's car and cook my own dinner when I was 6 and without setting anything ablaze by accident.
However, when I try to illustrate with that video, even though Inside Edition is an official news channel, the responses I get back are rather bitter! They remove my post or ban me from the sites I post on for "promoting nudity involving a minor"!

Many subreddits or forum sites don’t accept URLs, pictures, specific website URLs, or even a combination! Thereby hindering my ability to fully explain what I’m witnessing! In this case, the sentences “It’s one thing to say a girl’s outfit is ‘too revealing’, it’s two things to photoshop out a girl’s cleavage to make her look ‘modest’ for a yearbook.” actually corresponded to several videos I beared witness to on Inside Edition’s YouTube channel.
I actually tried to post that URL with that blurred 9yo girl in a subreddit in the past and you won’t believe this: I actually lost my reddit account for 2 days for “promoting nudity involving a minor”! Other sites like the adult video forums who accept uncensored nudity-based images I mentioned just delete my thread! Another site I recall banned me for 1 year for “spam” - even though I only made this protest post twice (after they removed it once).
So that meant I had to approach this from a different angle: after that experience, I got a little paranoid from using that said video URL to illustrate. So I tried explaining this protest without the URLs - and this is in conjunction with certain sites restricting my ability to post images, URLs, certain site URLs, or a combination. It seemed to end up making things worse! Because without the visual evidence, it makes it much harder to fully explain what I’m witnessing.
So without the URLs included - that visual illustration, on the sites I tried along with Lemmy World, it actually made things worse! That’s what lead Lemmy.World mods to ban me for life for “CSAM” or made other people think I watched child porn when I clearly didn’t. The lack of visual evidence (due to my past reddit experience combined with the site’s posting restrictions) is what lead to this “pedophile” confusion. So please help me talk some sense into the Lemmings world, Lemmy.ml, and Lemmy.world mods that this was all a major misunderstanding and Lemmy is pretty much the only reddit alternative out here where I can try asking another question. My attempt to appeal has failed on 3 Lemmy social sites - even after I tried notifying the mods on the third Lemmy server site before making the post, so I need your help now!

I’m not joking around here! This type of treatment towards the female human needs to stop - this includes race and age. - It’s like racist people, but in age form.

Since no one else is protesting this, and YouTube has a flawed comment moderating system hindering my ability to post on even random videos (I.E, "ghosting"), I have to take more drastic measures to protest by stepping up to the plate and shouting out “Can’t we all be equal in terms of a huge variety of traits?” Yeah, the last thing I need is a vein-bleeding broken-record robot impeding or hindering my ability to seek answers to a question!

Stop trying to blame it all on me! None of the stuff in the vids posted, is that. If it was, Inside Edition would be the guilty party, and Youtube for not having already deleted them. If it doesn’t violate Youtube’s TOS, it should be fine to post anywhere. If there was even a hint of impropriety to it, at the minimum the vid would have been age restricted.

Not even Inside Edition themselves were willing to offer an answer when I even found their email address, the sites dedicated to helping those in mental, suicidal, or emotional distress (those forum sites even PERMA-banned me for "spam" - that's right, SPAM! (Even though there was absolutely no mention of a permanent ban or rule about "spam" in their forum guidelines!) Is that the definition of "spam" when I make a bad thread only once?! And when I try to appeal the ban, the same message "please contact the administrator if it was done in error" is blocking my ability to click the contact button! Or sometimes it's a blank white page with that message in the top left corner of the window! - Which adds more insult to injury, because I can't click anything as all the buttons have disappeared! That means I can't log out of that site either!), OR the adult video forums that support uncensored nudity images would accept that video link URL let alone the entire topic itself! So I really am at a loss for thoughts and words on what I just experienced! Heck, I even tried the professional therapists of talkingforchange.ca But even they too were too reluctant to talk as they claim my post regarding the censorship of women is not for their platform and they disconnected the chat 2 seconds after their last reply to me. This can't be one of those "exceptional" cases where they say "suicide never solves anything" doesn't apply to these types of situations. In other words, all hope for resolving these types of situations really is lost. I really do feel left in the dark on both the subject of sound effects and nudity!

I am looking to try modding new vegas and I am really interested in updating the gun animations to be just like the one in this mod with the video .
Anyone familiar with the install of this mod? I feel like i followed the instructions to a tea but I feel like only half of the animations work
I am able to get the reload animations to work but aiming down sights just snap to my face like vanilla NV and does not smoothly go into the character face like the vid in the mod link
I also downloaded the gun sound mods that is made by the same person who made this mod but it still uses vanilla sounds
Note: I am using the nexus mod manager for everything which seems okay to do in the mod descriptions

Either in 2023 or 2022 (most likely 2023), I saw a bunch of youtube videos that were sponsored by this app. They must of done a limited time sponsoreship run, because it ran for a few weeks, then I never saw another sponsored vid again. It definitely was an app for PC, not sure if it was also for mobile.
Anyways, it looked like a great app. It looked like you could open your computer files in it (or at least link to them some way), and that way you could link together similar files that are stored in different folders on your pc. You could take notes in it also, and make all kinds of different things like lists and graphs. I also remember it being fairly colourful, and it looked like the UI was clean and well organized. I've checked out all the top apps (from youtube vids, google results, and this subreddit), but none of them look like it.
If you know what app this is, I'll be super grateful for letting me know! Even if you're not sure and can recommend something that sounds similar, I'd appreciate that! Some features that I would want (and seem rare in modern notes apps) are: one time payment for lifetime license (rather than monthly payments), and being able to use the app completely offline (and if it does have cloud, option to turn this off cause privacy is important to me). I'm 29/m, mum got me this rishta of a very nice girl, she's educated, working from home, homely and since she's from a village,very conservative and shy.

I just came over to capcut a few months ago. I use it to chop up shorts for my channel. I'm doing a 5 min vid for my 11 yr old. Where she does a speech in a class. So I did a (cutout) on her so I could project her canva presentation in the background of her speech. The only problem. Cut out only.works 30 % of the time. I have tried over n over switching the order. Putting background video on top of cut out. Then on bottom. Either way. It seems like when introducing background video it always chooses to be in front of her cutout. Why? What am I doing wrong? Also the audio is from a phone in her Classroom. It sounds really rough. I've heard there is an ai audio cleanup. I have not found it yet. Is it even worth it? I plan on running the final master audio w all the sfx and music into bandlab before I render it. But anytime on fixing up dirty scrappy audio narration? Thanks

Since 2-3 years I've had 3 symptoms:
Very sudden and random urge to pee felt in the middle/tip of the penis
When starting to pee it feels like a big stream has to push through the narrowed tip of the penis and it hurts for just a second and afterwards the stream is fine
Same thing happens with ejaculation, once in a while before ejaculation I'll feel the same sensation of semen pressing through a tight penis opening
Now for the past 2 weeks I've noticed the following:
Increased frequency of urination
Slight discomfort in the tip of the penis after urination lasting 10-20 minutes
Does this sound like prostatitis or pelvic floor dysfunction?
I'm terrified it might be urethral stricture but I've never had any bleeding from the urethra or weakened stream.
I must add I've been a chronic masturbator gripping the penis very tightly during.
I'm going to schedule a visit with a urologist next week.

Hi! Long read, but I swear by all the info in this post. I barely post things publicly, but I know this will help someone out there so I owe it to that future nurse! A little about me, I graduated Dec 2023 and I was a pretty decent and involved student, but I wouldn't say I was anywhere close to being the smartest of my 60 student cohort.
On my first attempt, I utilized arc-h3r, Mark K, and the High Yield Podcast on Spotify. I spent all of February averaging at least 4 hours of studying everyday. Got "Very High" chance of passing for 7 straight assessments consecutively (their algorithm claims like a 99% pass rate if you can get 4 "very highs" in a row). I only watched the first and last lecture of Mark K, and I background listened to the High Yield podcast. Come test day, I remember feeling so confident up until I sat down on the test chair, saw the first question and couldn't for the life of me recognize what I was reading. All my test strategies and self-affirmations were thrown out the window as nerves and anxiety got the better of me, and once I passed the 85 question mark, I fully checked out mentally. I rushed through all the remaining questions, left the center in a panic, and cried in my car. Failed at 150 Qs.
Devastated doesn't come close to the utterly defeated feeling I had at this time. Imposter syndrome was crazy and I felt like I had let so many people down. As a first-gen student coming from a family of immigrants, I felt like I had destroyed a future not only for myself but for my family. For anyone reading this who is going through a similar situation, just know every feeling you have is absolutely valid. I encourage you to feel what you feel, cry or scream if that helps, but just remember you can't give up! This journey only ends if you allow it to.
Now, for my comeback All Stars moment: I allowed myself a little under 2 weeks to rest and regroup before I worked my way up again. I can't stress this enough: UWORLD IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. I did the 60 day subscription for like $150ish I think? Sounds pricey, but if you utilize it well, it's a guaranteed life saver. I completed 92% of the test bank, read EVERY rationale (right or wrong), watched each of the lectures, and used their note taking feature. Try to practice a couple questions everyday that isn't a break day. I usually aimed for at least 85 questions each day. I think my overall average was 75%. I took my first self-assessment about 2 weeks before the test, and my 2nd one about 3 days before (got a very high chance of passing for both). I really do think UWorld is pretty similar to the actual NCLEX and it prepares you super well. Again, read through and reread rationales!!
Most people say only watch Mark K's last lecture on prioritization. Although it is the most important (and one that should be listened to at least twice), I still listened to the other 11 sped up 2x and it was still really helpful and relevant come test day. I would to listen to his lectures while following along to his notes to keep me engaged. High yield podcast on Spotify is another great resource! His videos are pretty short (some less than 5min) and he gets straight to the point. I watched them all at 1.5-2x speed and took short notes on each vid. I also used this website called Speechify, which allowed me to copy and paste my notes onto a text box to read by an A.I. voice of my choosing (helped me feel like I was listening to a lecture and gave my eyes a break from reading).
Second attempt: I scheduled my exam at 8AM. Slept early the night before and woke up around 6:30 the morning of. Gave myself time to ready up, drive to the center, and do a little hyping up in my car complete with a prayer. Walked in, sat down, took a pee and snack break about 45 minutes in, and walked out at around 9:45AM. I did the PVT thing when I got home after I got the survey email, and got the good pop up! Got my license emailed to me 2 days later <3
Tips I swear by:

• Give yourself breaks! Your mind will get tired and you'll suffer from mental fatigue if you aimlessly study for hours on end without some respite. Grab a snack, play a video game, go out for coffee or some boba. I ended up going to Vegas for 5 days and Japan for 12 days in between exams. Don't let the NCLEX take away your life before you began to study. I say at the very least dedicate one day of the week where you don't touch any study material.
• Control your anxiety. This is 90% why I failed the 1st time. I couldn't calm down, so I couldn't focus and all I wanted to do was get the hell out of the room. A week before my second attempt, I called my Doctor to prescribe me Propranolol. Tho not technically an anxiety med, it helps to take away the physical manifestations (calmed my HR and BP down). During test day, I was cooler than a cucumber.
• DONT TELL ANYONE when you're testing. I did that and I felt the pressure on me so hard my first time around. All I could think of during the test was, "if you fail, everyone will know it, and you'll be so embarrassed!" Definite vibe killer.
• Change up your study environment. Go to a library, your school's student union, a coffee shop, anywhere with free wifi. I felt like at home was where I was most distracted. I could keep myself accountable best when I was in a place away from my switch or bed.
• Relax the day before the exam. I know a lot of people chill and don't touch anything NCLEX related the day before and I do recommend that to clear your mind before the big day. Personally, I just lightly studied notes on my weak areas.
• Reinforce your weaknesses. You can know everything about GI or Cardio, but if you know you suck at OB and don't wanna study up on it, you're setting yourself up for failure. My weakest area was everything related to pharm. Two weeks before my exam, I watched a couple of YouTube videos to help build up my knowledge and thank god that I did. "Simple Nursing" and "Registered Nurse RN" are honestly the best channels out there.
• You can do it! Don't give up!! It DOES NOT MATTER how many times you need to take this test to pass, because you'll be a great nurse regardless. I believe in you <3

About Me:

I've been doing prototypes and working with unity for the past 7 years(off and on), never released anything prior to this so before I turned 41 I wanted to get something out there. I spent 1.25 year (hobbyist approach) on this title. Got laid off in the last 5 months of development so was able to put a little bit more time to polish prior to release (but the honey due list really sidetracked what I thought I could allocate to it).

• Reviews: 96% positive 117 user reviews (not counting keys)
• Wishlists into EA: 4.5k
• Wishlists Outstanding 1 month into EA release: 14k
• Conversion 10.9%
• Return rate: 7.9%

Development

I saw a trend in games which were taking retro mechanics and pairing them with modern roguelites, such as dome keeper (digdug and missle command), peglin, and of course the survivor likes. So I decided to mash up a Brickbreaker, Galaga, Roguelite, called Against Great Darkness.
I picked a minimalistic pixel art style to cater to rapid development, and avoid my weakness (shading). I also made strict art guidelines to follow a duotone color pallet so everything was much simpler to develop and looked consistent. The art was probably the most positive feedback I got, though the simplified pallet had caused a need for me to make accessibility changes once people started to play the demo.
Coding was pretty straightforward but I will admit I absolutely over engineered some systems that I shouldn't have. Granted its easier for me to make content now that its where it is... I really could have just banged it out much quicker. My original thought was this would only take me a handful of months and here we are 1.2 years later.
Sound was probably the hardest for me. I found out that duelysts went opensource and scraped through their SFX files. Majority of the audio within my game is modified from there. For the music I luckily stumbled upon a fantastic composer that really helped out. I offered minimal direction and some samples, and he just made something that fit it perfectly.

Marketing

Steam page was up pretty early, launched without a trailer which I think took a lot away from it. From the get go I was only gaining roughly 5 wishlists a day.
First break came from getting a demo up and running on itch.io. I was able to get to the front page of itch for a little bit, which helped get noticed by alpha beta gamer, who wrote a small article about the game. That gained a few hundred wishlists. Itch absolutely helped refine the game more as well.
I streamed development on twitch. This was a major dumb luck thing which helped. I only had a handful of people watching but one day Piratesoftware just showed up in my stream and kind of took me in under his wings. He would occasionally raid my channel, netting in a couple hundred wishlists each time. He also offered for me to bundle my game with his on Steam which has helped out tremendously. He also helped during launch by streaming the game, and getting AdmiralBahroo to stream it as well.
Twitter helped quite a bit as well not for large likes but I was able to gain interest in my title with content creators. So wanderbots picked up on it. He actually played the demo prior to nextfest and gave a pretty good vid on the game, which made me really fix up my accessibility. He also did a vid just prior to launch. Esty8nine also helped and saw the game through twitter he provided some valuable takeaways that helped me refine my game much more. ClemmyGames also picked it up and listed it in the top ten for shmup fest as well as during my launch week as the hidden indie gem of the week. I did pay for one promotional tweet @SteamGamesPC after the game launched I think it netted a few hundred in sales. Was very cheap only like $10 and a steam key.
Reddit... oh boy did a bunch of reddit posts here and there. probably in total netted 1k wishlists. I focused on indiegaming, webgames, pixelart, and the sunday post at games. None of them really took off to much was on gaming at the top for like 2 hours then got permabanned.
Festivals these were big. Nextfest I did in october and that gained me probably 1k wishlists. I somehow got featured in steams promo reel for that nextrfest but it didn't really help that much. It did cause a few gaming news outlets to list my game in the upcoming nextfest articles but all it was a link. It did get some of the more prominent indiedev content creators to take a look and promote my game however. Outside of Nextfest was Shmupfest which also gained some interest with content creators in that genre. Gaining about 800 wishlists. There were 2 other festivals but they didn't provide a lot of traction.
I sent out keys roughly 40, got a handful of videos made from them so seemed like a success. Retromantic was probably the biggest one.
Other things I tried:

• Tried tiktok... game wasn't tiktokable.
• imgur did a few posts dont think it netted me much.
• Also made posts in forums which focused on SHMUPs, don't think that gained me much.
• Did the usual discord its fairly small but has decent participation.
• Prologue, the game was too short for this in hindsight.

Overall I think I could have done more.

Publishers

I was courted by a bunch of publishers roughly 9. I didn't actively seek them out, was just through emails and them joining my discord. Ultimately since I didn't need funding I decided against it. In hindsight I may have been better off with taking up one of them.

Conclusion

I think for a first time game a lot of things went my way that I don't feel most get. It did make me realize how hard it is to get stuff noticed on steam even with all the things going my way. But I feel like for an EA title it is doing pretty well. I sell roughly 20 to 30 units a day now, and gain roughly 100 wishlists per day after releasing into EA. I don't want to be in EA for a long time, I feel like a lot of those wishlists will be converted once I release into 1.0. So I feel like just adding content and getting it to a larger content pool for a roguelite is what I really need to focus on. The median play time isn't to fantastic and would like to fix that. As well as spend some of the earnings on localization. In the meantime though I do need to find an actual job as the pocket change it is making isn't enough for me and my family to justify it being a full time gig for myself. But I will continue the hustle on the side, as its always been my dream to make games.
