2024.05.28 03:30 FrauleinHabsburg Crashing- desperate for a fix

My game keeps crashing and its getting worse. I cannot find a fix after hours on google. If anyone has any ideas what would be causing this, id sincerely appreciate your input.
I had hoi4 before on an old PC, it was windows 10 and I only had the DLCs up to and including BBA. The game never had a problem with crashing ever. Now I got a new PC, installed HOI4 about 1 week ago and decided to buy the arms against tyranny DLC. At first the game ran decent, it crashed a little but the crashes have become more and more frequent. Now im about to just forget the game all together which PISSES me off after dishing out for all the DLC.
I have all DLC up to and including arms against tyranny. If I start a new game, it doesnt matter if its 36 or 39, doesnt matter if I actually play and do things, or just simply watch the game without making a single click, within an in game year the game crashes to desktop.
The crashes are completely random. For instance, lets say my game auto saves Feb 1st, then crashes Feb 15th.. Ill restart game, load the auto save file on Feb 1st, then continue playing, and the game goes right past Feb 15th (where it crashed previously) no problem. Sometimes the game plays for 2 years before a crash, sometimes within 3 months.
When it crashed the first few times, id see a box popup with a message about the crash and to submit info to paradox or something, but lately as the crashes have become worse I havent seen this box at all.. it just crashes to desktop and thats it. Not sure if this is relevant.
I also play other games which are demanding of PCs, Elden Ring I can play for hours at highest graphic settings... same with DayZ, multiple total war titles... Havent tested many others yet since this is a new PC. So its definitely a problem unique to HOI4.
====TROUBLESHOOTING:::: validating files. Running in direct x 11, 9 and open GL. Fullscreen, borderless fullscreen, windowed. Clearing user cache. Disabling the full screen optimization. Completely uninstalling, then manually removing any remaining files, and reinstalling. Ensured Windows 11 is up to date, geforce nvidia drivers are up to date. I ran a windows diagnostic to see if maybe there was a problem with my RAM. Changed power settings from balanced to high.
SYSTEM SPECS=== : i7 14700kf 3.4ghz, 4060 rtx ti, 32 gb ram, 16 gb vram, windows 11 version 23H2.
Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?
EDIT-> just for the hell of it, I decided trying to run the game with compatibility for windows 8 (the latest windows version I was able to chose) and I was able to run the game for years (in game) which im not able to do otherwise. So far this has been the only thing which has made a difference with the game. The prblem is, when in this mode the game just runs really poorly, so I really dont want to use this as a permanent fix.

So I am currently using Su-25sm3 and it does have a voice warning system, but I want to change the voice warning system's language... or at least use a custom voice warning system. But I do not understand how to use, for example how can I use a custom voice warning system for American jets on Russian jets?

2024.05.28 03:17 C0smicoccurence A Botanical Daughter review (for my ‘Published in 2024’ Bingo Card)

A Botanical Daughter review (for my ‘Published in 2024’ Bingo Card)
After feeling very out of the loop for the last few years on most of the books that got nominated for awards, I have decided that 2024 is my year of reading stuff being currently published. While I will no doubt get sidetracked by shiny baubles from the past, I am going to be completing a bingo card with books solely written in 2024.
Aside from the truly stellar cover art which drew my eye, I gravitated towards this book in part due to my desire to try out more horror and gothic fiction, my interest in seeing a married gay couple in a historical setting, and a modern take on a Frankenstein type story
This book is good for readers who like gothic plant gays

https://preview.redd.it/t7ycjc5dj23d1.jpg?width=657&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c51f0402c756cbca797ee06978f070b122b22001
Elevator Pitch: A botanist and taxidermist who live in a greenhouse dig up a dead body to play host to an intelligent fungus and a host of plants that allows it to become something more. As Chloe (their ‘daughter’) grows in ability and sentience, it strains the relationship between Gregor (the botanist), Simon (the Taxidermist) and Jenny (their housekeeper)
What Worked for Me
It took a little bit for the horror to start up, but once it did, Medlock did a phenomenal job of finding the right amount of detail and imagery in a scene to keep a picture in your head without dragging things to a stop. Some were classic ideas (a face against a window, plant roots digging into a body, etc etc) but others felt more intriguing, such as Simon’s taxidermic projects as he tries to process his conflicting feelings about Chloe and her growing role in their life.
I also loved the relationship between Gregor and Simon. Oftentimes in Fantasy we see tragic love stories or (more commonly) sacchirine romances that are so much syrup that they lose all other flavors. I do love a sweet romance, but seeing an established couple that works through realistic arguments and challenges, to the point where you begin to think that perhaps this relationship isn’t as healthy as you initially thought, was wonderful to see. It was probably the strongest character-writing of the book as well, as it felt like a truly established relationship with a history that doesn’t all see the screen, but that is felt nevertheless.
What Didn’t Work for Me
Overall, I think this book suffered from a lot of typical debut novel challenges. I struggled with how overworked the first chapter was in comparison to the rest of the story. The character’s opinions in relationship to Chloe shifted in seemingly arbitrary ways at key moments without feeling like there was appropriate build up. The pacing had some minor challenges near the start. However, there was enough good here that I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for Medlock’s future work, because the more signature elements were very strong, and if this book is any indication, he’ll be writing stories I’m very interested in reading.
TL:DR A debut novel that has some rocky bits, but ended up being a strong horror book with a well written, if tangled, queer marriage at its center
Bingo Squares: Multi POV, Disability (HM, Autism coded), Cover Art, Published in 2024 (HM)
I plan on using this for Published in 2024
Previous Reviews for this Card Welcome to Forever - a psychedelic roller coaster of edited and fragmented memories of a dead ex-husband
Infinity Alchemist - a dark academia/romantasy hybrid with refreshing depictions of various queer identities
Someone You Can Build a Nest In - a cozy/horroromantasy mashup about a shapeshifting monster surviving being hunted and navigating first love
Cascade Failure - a firefly-esque space adventure with a focus on character relationships and found family
The Fox Wife - a quiet and reflective historical fantasy involving a fox trickster and an investigator in early-1900s China
Indian Burial Ground - a horror book focusing on Native American folklore and social issues
The Bullet Swallower - follow two generations (a bandit and an actor) of a semi-cursed family in a wonderful marriage between Western and Magical Realism
Floating Hotel - take a journey on a hotel spaceship, floating between planets and points of view as you follow the various staff and guests over the course of a very consequential few weeks

2024.05.28 03:17 Radarcy Can't get out of S Mode

I have a fresh out of the box windows 11. I have fully updated everything. I checked the Microsoft store library to verify every app is fully up to date. I've reset the store, cleared the cache, and clicked the little repair button. I've tried logging in on different Microsoft accounts, I've made a new Microsoft account.
I think I've done like every troubleshooting solution out there but I am still getting the same error message.
I've also restarted the computer, waited 5 minutes, and turned it back on again.
"Try Again Something happened and we couldn't start the upgrade."
Please tell me someone knows how to fix this before I just go to Geek Squad... I really don't have any extra money at this point.

2024.05.28 03:07 Elegant_Forever_1079 Strange Eve player looking for the right corp.

I'm looking for a corporation. Or rather, looking for a corporation that will ally itself with my single-player corporation. I suppose I could drop corp and join, but its going to be really inconvenient with how I use the market.
A little about myself. I'm middle-aged and live in Australia. I started playing Eve the year it came out. I'm a bit odd in that I usually play a pacifist in games. That means I don't shoot first, and only on rare occasions will fire on other players. In my entire ever career I only have about five player killmails across 22 years of play. Those were accidental. If you think being non violent in Eve is hard, consider the fact I have just spent two years doing the same thing is Rust.
I tend to enjoy mining, crafting and trading. The stereotypical care bear crab. That said, I am interested in flying logistics or ew in small gang pvp. Particularly logi, as I like being a healer in multiplayer games.
I'm also socially a bit of a recluse, both online and IRL. I closed my chat windows and stopped checking my mail in Eve about ten years ago and only recently reopened them. I have been playing the game like it was single-player.
I have never botted or input broadcasted, but at my peak I had nearly one hundred active accounts. These days that is down to ten, but I can easily awaken more if needed.
Although I will never throw isk away, it doesn't have much value to me anymore. One of the accounts I currently have active has over 1000 billion personal wealth. I don't even know how to calculate all characters and particularly corp assets, but I suspect combined it would be well over 30,000 billion. I have every T1 blueprint that exists researched to full. I have strategically located stockpiles of everything across all highsec space. I have about 250 capitals I can't even be bothered selling. (I used to make them.) I'm also privileged enough IRL to be in a financial position where I could spend $5k aud on plex a day indefinitely and not suffer financial hardship.
I say these things not to brag, but rather explain what motivates me. I'm the safest ally anyone could ever have, because I simply can't be bought. There is nothing anyone in Eve has that I want. I don't want isk, I don't want rare collectable ships. I don't care about prestige, or killmails. I can't be bribed.
But I’m lonely. Very, very lonely. Eve is a social game and human beings are social animals. I'm bored with Eve. I have been for a long time. I think the only thing that can save it for me is making some friends. Plus I need more content. I have never lived in a wormhole. I joined a major alliance in null, but there was a six month waiting period before I could rorq mine with the fleet - and after four months of sitting and waiting I got sick of it and quit. I have never done incursions. I have never done factional warfare. All I have ever done is mined, traded and crafted.
So what can my characters do? Well it really doesn't matter what the skills are because I can just inject as needed. Despite not being into pvp I did train perfect drone and missile skills just in case I got interested later. I can effectly bomb run with thirty stealth bombers at once. If I move another PC to my main desk I can do it with sixty. I have tested some years ago.
I think I could be really useful with a bit of instruction and the right corp. I have enough accounts that I could have eyes in every system in pretty much any region of the game. I have perfect boosts in every category that I can give to the fleet simultaneously. I know from experience I can handle about ten accounts in combat, so long as they aren't required to do anything complicated. If I was flying logi I think I would only be comfortable starting out with four. IRL it is not worth my time to have a job (I used to be an IP lawyer then inherited a hell of a lot of property) so I am terminally online.
In some ways I'm very ignorant of Eve, but I have been playing too long to still be naive about the playerbase and their motivations.
Conduct in-game is very important to me. I wouldn't want to be part of a corp or alliance that was abusive or rude in chat, or picked on newbies, or turned a blind eye to botters or exploiters in their ranks. Despite living in Australia my sleeping patterns are so erratic there is no telling when I will be logged in.
I recently applied to an alliance but was turned down because I can't list all my alts. There are about thirty that I can't remember the email address or character names for. I can't even remember what my phone number or address was fifteen years ago. I tried explaining that to the person vetting me, but he wasn't interested. And frankly, I wouldn't care to even put the effort of account recovering then linking the API keys for sixty or seventy.
Then I tried to join a local pirate corp. They are very nice pirates, as I have been gating rorquals and orcas ten at a time with no escort around lowsec for more than a month now and they aren't even trying to kill me. They said I wasn't mad about pvp, and - well - I guess the leader had my number because I'm not.
Well, that's the situation. If anyone has any questions please ask.

2024.05.28 03:00 Original_Channel6235 transcript for community college classes

I have taken 3 community college courses over the past 2 years- 2 freshman year(A & P) and 1 sophomore year (A). However, these courses aren’t considered the “dual enrollment” courses promoted at my school in the sense that my class was composed of community college students instead of purely high school students. It also doesn’t show up on my main transcript from school.
When applying to colleges, how should I report the grades I obtained through these classes, or do I not report them at all? For reference, I am living in CA and these classes will only provide UC credits anyways.
Also, will the Pass from the freshman year class affect AOs view on my transcript? I am a first-gen student and my parents don’t really know much about the American education system in general, any help would be appreciated!

Can someone help me please? (I apologize if the understanding is horrible, I'm using Google Translate) I simply try to open my photoshop and my PC won't let me open it, this error appears "This application cannot run on your PC To find a version for your PC, consult your software vendor" I'm in doubt because every time I had a problem with the programs it was Adobe itself that reported the error and not my PC... Ps: I use Windows 10 and this happened after I ran the new GenP 3.4.13 Beta 4 I looked for possible Windows solutions but none helped, I already tried going over GenP and it didn't help either, I updated Adobe Creative to see if it could be a bug in the Adobe system with the Windows system and nothing... :/

[Student] Soon-to-be New Grad SWE Student not getting any replies after months of searching
Hi! First time posting here, followed format best I could. Have revised my resume for a few weeks now but still cant get past the automated rejection emails, so I figured there might be something this sub could help me with. I have two 6 month co-ops under my belt through my university in relevant fields, and have been applying across the SE/CS range of jobs, for Junior and normal positions, frontend, backend, and full stack, and also some IT/Desktop and Data jobs.
I have no real preferences/qualms about working in any particular subfield/type of company, but have applied to around 10 jobs a day, custom cover letters every time, for a few months now, and although I haven't yet graduated, I will be in a month and really need to secure a job soon so I can help support my big family. I'm applying across the northeast, mainly New York City, New Jersey, Philadelphia, etc, since I plan to move in with my folks upon graduating and cannot drive. My finances are catastrophic right now so I am not picky and, not to undervalue my worth, but I do not mind taking a lower salary so that hasn't restricted my application process either.
Thank you in advance for any and all advice!

2024.05.28 02:44 SailorSunlightSims Would a table-top fan covered with fabric or mesh be safe?

Hello! It gets pretty hot where I live in the summer and usually, I open all the windows 24/7 and use a table-top fan as my apartment doesn't have AC.
My windows only open a crack, and I will find a type of mesh to install to cover the opening. As for the fan, I was thinking that hopefully if it were covered in fabric or mesh fabric, it would still provide airflow, and stop a pigeon's wingd/feathers from getting caught in it.
Would these methods be safe enough? If not, I will not get a pigeon until I move somewhere safer with a normal AC system.

2024.05.28 02:42 afish2 NVIDIA drivers issues and not sure what to do next

So I Basically use my home computer for some minor gaming and it recently had a driver update, no big deal, so I update it like I do every other time. This time after restarting my computer I have gotten this "Nvidia Webhelper.exe -Bad image" that won't go away even when I try to close it out. It rotates through these error messages ending out the C:\ drive location: UxTheme.dll UIAutomationCore.dll UxTheme.dll wbemcomn.dll
But because of this error message I also can't open the blizzard application to access any games. I can't open GeForce application when I click on it but it does open within like 5 minutes randomly and gives me this error message shown so I can't even go into GeForce to update/uninstall and reinstall drivers there if I wanted to which seems like my main problem. So is there another way I can uninstall and potentially reinstall my drivers without GeForce? Or can I do something to fix my GeForce to open properly?
Also I can't use the power button but can turn off with ctrl+alt+del for some reason.
Any insight on what might be happening or any way to uninstall and reinstall the drivers safely would be great. My computer has a GTX 1650 Super graphics card btw
