Hello Reddit,
I'm in the process of purchasing a property and need some advice. I found a 2-bed flat in Waltham Abbey, close to shops and Tesco, but the deal fell through because the surveyor didn't like the commercial units next to it.
Now, I'm considering Harlow, particularly the CM17 Church Langley area, but I'm unsure. I'll be renting this property out, so I'm looking for a good investment. I'm also pushing for Enfield, but it's over my budget—though I could get a 1-bed there.
What do you guys think of Harlow, especially CM17 Church Langley? Would it be a good investment?

Forgive me in advance, I am long-winded. I will do my best to format in a manner that makes it easy to skip information that does not interest you, and put a tl;dr at the end, as well as a neurotypical mansplanation for those who find this post and have no idea what I am talking about.
About Me - Hi there, my name is Daniel, and I am a late catch autistic with OCD, ASD, ADHD, and CPTSD! Texture Sought - I haven't seen them in ages, and am not sure if they even still exist. It doesn't help that I don't know the name of them. They were these little rectangular wafers, they typically came in packages of... maybe 40 of them? They were typically separated into three "flavors" (they didn't really taste different) of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. They were sorted by color, the white, the pink, and the brown. The closest I have been able to find recently is Reese's sticks, though the chocolate coating kind of ruins it a little. This is the crunch I need.
Specific modifiers - As far as I know, the previous ones were just sugar. I am trying to find a healthy alternative. Please understand, the flavor matters very little. It doesn't matter to me what it tastes like, so long as it is healthy (or at least healthier than sugar wafers), and has the proper crunch.
Things that aren't it, that have been recommended in the past - Ice, Carrot sticks, baby carrots, Pringles, chips, celery. The closest of these is probably Pringles, but it still isn't close enough.
TL;DR - Need healthy food that has the same texture as a Reese's stick minus the chocolate coating.
Neurotypical Mansplanation - have you ever heard (or felt) someone describe how they won't eat oysters because it feels like eating a lougie? Or they won't eat Swiss cheese because of the concept of a mouse eating the holes in it, or mushrooms because it's a fungus, etc? This is somewhat like that, only the opposite. It is difficult to describe, but the flavor is almost entirely irrelevant. Biting down on these wafers feels like seeing the screen saver hit the corner just right, or flipping a coin and having it land on its side. It is proof that magic is real. And I would very much like a way to consume this particular crunch without getting diabetes from eating 2 packs of reeses sticks per day.
Assorted gratitude and customary apologies for my existence - if you have read everything so far, thanks! I'm sorry I couldn't find a more concise way to explain what I'm looking for, but I'm hoping the excess information helps find just the right thing.
Semi-related idea for inventors to get rich - silicone ice trays that are specifically shaped so that, when they form the ice cubes, each cube mimics the crunch of a real life food (which would be used to label the ice trays so people can buy just the texture they want). Many with ASD struggle to get their water intake, and this could really help with that, while also providing a calorie free crunch of their preferred variety whenever they want. It should be noted that, if you take this idea and run with it, you have my blessing on two conditions. 1.) I get a wafer tray whenever it becomes affordable for you to send me one. 2.) Should this make you crazy rich (by your own definition), maybe toss a tip my way and pay off my debt or something. I don't need a yacht or a jet or anything, I'm a simple guy with simple tastes.

Looking to do Bohol - Camiguin - Siargao landtrip
We planned how to go from Bohol but do not know how to go back, here is our route from Bohol to Camiguin to Siargao
(1) From Bohol, get a bus to Jagna Port then take a ferry to Balbagon, Camiguin
... spend 1 night in Camiguin ...
(2) From our accomodation in Camiguin, get a tricycle to Mambajao transport terminal and ride jeep to Benoni port and take a ferry to Balingoan port Misamis Oriental and then ride a bus to Butuan City, once there, find a van to go to Surigao City and get a cheap hostel to stay for the night. In the morning, ride a tricycle to Surigao city port and ride a ferry to Dapa Port (Siargao)
(3) Once in Dapa port, ride a jeep to Burgos and from there, get a motorcycle rental to go to accomodation or cafe etc
But ...... we do not know our way back to Bohol yet, do we just take the same route back? or is there a faster way or another way where we do not need to go back to Camiguin?
Also, is our Bohol to Siargao route feasible? or are there any shorter way? is our route correct? we just followed a tiktok video on how they did it and do not know anyone there.
PS. cant take a flight, have valid ID issues, so we just prefer land trip 🥲

I’m sooooo late to the game but i just finished Penacony and GOD the lore was absolutely amazing?? The trippy memory stuff, Acheron’s whole ass character, the Watchmaker and his whole astral express backstory… so many things about the plot were just so new and interesting and felt so harmoniously connected! Feel free to drop your favourite lore nuggets from Penacony here! Mine are [SPOILER WARNING]:

1. literally every single appearance of acheron. i was absolutely floored. i love how the questions she asked Trailblazer recurred throughout the story, and kind of tied everything up at the end! Also love how the old man she was talking to ended up being Tiernan — it just made so much sense, and made her character feel so much more important! The game, through Acheron, tackled a bunch of these deep existential questions and i loved seeing elements of philosophy in the game.
2. FIREFLY!!! MY GIRL 😭😭😭🫰 i love her character so so much, and the pre-memory loss trailblazer x firefly headcanons are so fun to read
3. the trippy memory shit & fake ending was CRAZY and mikhail’s ominous mansion actually creeped me out 🙏 i love how they played with the concept of memory & dreams — these very human concepts that are so hard to grasp, and can be terrifying at times
4. the fact that clockie is a compass and the watchmaker is actually just another trailblazer??? i’ve yet to fully wrap my head around this but the connections between the watchmaker, the astral express, and the astral express gang’s initial mission to find the three trailblazers — i felt like the plot here was dealt with and tied up very well; that we eventually harked back to the gang’s initial mission just made so much sense
5. the fact that the entire region’s design is just a reference to america 🦅 (the artistic & historical inspirations r so fascinating!)

I just came back to star rail after a full year and i’m just so impressed w Penacony! I’m sure hsr isn’t the first game ever to tackle the ideas it did in Penacony, and the story did get really convoluted/ confusing/ even boring at times, but I really did enjoy myself and I found the writing really beautiful at times — I play in Chinese and I have to say, the game is entirely different in its original language; the writing is a lot less awkward (bc of weird translations), and lot more beautiful.

TL;DR: My girlfriend shows little enthusiasm in seeing me when I come home, even though I haven't seen her in 9 weeks. Why does she act like this?
I have been dating my girlfriend for 1.5 years. Our relationship has been healthy with no major issues or fights. Last fall, I started medical school 4 hours away. I am only home once every 8-10 weeks. Last weekend, I went home and my girlfriend had known I was coming home 2-3 weeks in advance.
I had called to see if she wanted to grab dinner on Friday night. She said she was having dinner with her grandma and couldn't. I asked her about Saturday. She said we could grab coffee but that she is spending the day with her family. Sunday, we will sit together in church, but she said she is going to breakfast and shopping with her sister afterwards.
My girlfriend is a school teacher. Her weeks are busy and she likes to relax on the weekends, which I completely understand. I don't want to take her entire weekend from her. However, I don't feel like I am being unreasonable here - especially since I haven't seen her in 9 weeks and won't be home again until July. And it's not that family time isn't valuable, but she lives 5 minutes from her family and can see them most any time she wants.
I'm starting to wonder if there's not another guy involved.

Hi! Baldurs gate was one of the best draft formats of all time and I really want to recreate it with a set cube!!
I was thinking of including one of each legend, and having players draft packs with just them before the rest of the set.
Do you guys think this would work?! Would I include backgrounds too or put them in the main packs?!
Also the set is pretty big, would I still use the 3:2:1 ratio!?

I don't think I suck as a DM, since my players enjoy my games and haven't complained (except for a couple of things I will get into), but I seriously find myself seeing other GMs have abilities that I just don't have and I believe I should have learned after about 4+years of DMing at least once a month.
I am playing a 5e campaing about the dream realm, where the players have to discover what is going on over there, why are the dream gods fighting and encounter "lucid dreamers", wich is basically a creature (like some of them) that has a special connection with the dreaming world. That makes those people a nexus where the two worlds collide and energy can be drawn from one realm to another. The big plot is that some gods want to destroy the dream realm, by pouring all of its energy into the material world; and some others want to destroy the material world by absorbing it into the dreaming.
My players have yet to figure this last part out, so they are just running around from town to town trying to find lucid dreamers and encounter a way to fight the god of nightmares, whom they believe is the sole villain. I have a couple others subplots, like the god of nightmares having warlocks that are also looking for lucid dreamers and other things that are not 100% related to the main quest, but still are a bit interesting to see.
My problem is that... we have been at it for almost 2 years now, they are only level 7 (leveled up last session) and have only fought a single boss, wich was a shapeshifter mage. They have aprox 500 gold and just have stupid magic items that were only introduced as a semi joke.
I should divide this between the things my players are complaining and the things I am freaking out about.
My players complained about:
Not having enough gold: I feel like this is 100% my fault, but I don´t really know how to fix it, since they are not going to dungeons or doing stuff in big cities that could get them some nice loot, + I have a hard time knowing how much gold I should give them, since finding a good loot table is kind of weird. That added to the fact that I don't have a very instinctive feel as to what they should be getting at which level (wich is something my other DM friends know how to do on the fly) makes it even harder.
Not having good magic items: This is a issue connected to the gold. Since I have almost no clue as what to give them, I don't know which magic items I should hand out, plus they are not going to a lot of places that could have magic items. And adding merchants is just falling into problem 1, wich is that they don't have enough gold x.x
Not being railroaded enough: They enjoy my sessions, but they have voiced their opinion that I should guide them more sometimes, wich I... quite frankly don't like doing and don't know how to do it without it being intrusive.
I am freaking out about:
Not knowing how to make encounters. They are absolutely demolishing every encounter ever. They are 4, paladin of vengance, monk way of the astral self, bard college of spirits and sorcerer aberrant mind. I go to dnd calculators, I make sure all of them are deadly and are more than 3 enemies and they still blast through them like it's nothing. I make sure to count HP correctly, always noting resistances and pack tactics and so on, but they still demolish them. I have watched videos, read the monster manuals, I even made a "colliseum" wich was just combat with them so I could try monsters and they could try builds, and even there they were just demolishing the encounters.
Not knowing how to "railroad": I have told them what to do (find more lucid dreamers), so they have to go out and look for suspicious things at different towns. There they found the shapeshifter's subplot and are now figuring out that some of the lucid dreamers are conjuring creatures, monsters from their nightmares into the real world as they sleep (just like some of them have been able to, like the college of spirits bard or the echo fighter that later became the paladin). My plan is to lead them to find the elven king is a lucid dreamers, and his nightmares and paranoia regarding his kingdom is materializing weird stuff. However, I feel like I have been too slow to introduce this stuff and I agree with the fact that THEY don't have much of a direction other than "go around, find shit and just hope that we find something".
Not knowing how to pace or structure sessions: Usually I plan a combat per session, even if the oportunity doesn't present itself in wich case I just save it, and some NPC's with a storyline that is happening in town, but when I look at my notes...
Not knowing how to make settings: I just find that my towns are empty, my monsters are boring and there is no fun in this world except for the weird things my players come up with. I use premade maps for Talespire and I have a hard time making a bunch of NPC's, so I just make like 6-10 and call it a day. The real problem is that I have a hard time coming up with taverns and military places and points of interest, since they are visiting small towns.
I am just now falling into the spiral of "It has been two years and almost nothing has happened", noticing all my mistakes and comparing myself to others campaigns I have played or watched and thinking "huh, 10 sessions in and they are already lvl 6... how crazy". Any advice for any of this? Any words of encouragement? Youtube videos? Music? Smoothies combinations?

Hi Guys, I need a bit of help. I have a Woodworking router and it's cord fell out when I was cleaning it.
Now issue is the wire that fell off is 1 black and 1 white wire. But on motor side there's 2 white wires.

I'm seeking some advice on mortgage shopping. I bought a pre-construction condo in Montreal back in 2020, originally set to finish in 2023, but it's been postponed to September 2024. I had a mortgage commitment from TD, but the approval has now expired due to the delay.
Unfortunately, my experience with the mortgage specialist at TD hasn’t been great. Despite several inquiries about the mortgage, I haven't received any responses.
As the new delivery date is approaching, I have a few questions:

1. Can I start applying for mortgages with other banks since my approval with TD has expired? If yes, what are the best strategies for mortgage shopping currently?
2. Does every mortgage rate inquiry involve a hard pull on my credit?
3. As I plan to use the condo myself, would it be advisable to make a larger down payment considering the current high mortgage rates?

So I got DPDR back in 2017 after LSD trip, after that I thought I just flipped from it and I kinda got used to it and sometimes I was okey sometimes I wasnt but I didn't even know what Anxiety and dpdr are
Anyway after bad episodes in covid I was okey till last week. So for 3 year no episode no anything I forgot about it at all. I had hypohondria in 2021 which didn't cause DPDR, but my hypohondria got back few months ago and I was so stressed what's going on with my health that boost my anxiety, fuck up my sleep and DPDR are back.
So I don't know if my dpdr was caused by trauma from LSD or is it from anxiety, it looks like it's from anxiety since I was okey until I started going to doctor every few days for new tests. My doc gave me meds because she said my brain was overwhelmed of all overthinking and I was mentally tired. So I was yawing a lot, got dizzines, little bit problem with balance aafter 30min/hour with my friends. I was so tired and I couldnt sleep properly.
I was presrcibed with Zoloft 50mg 1 after breakfast, rivotril ( in case that have upsets and worries) calixta 2h before bad 15mg and rivotrile 1/4 2mg before sleeps. Keep in mind that i'm 125kg 2 meters, big guy
I have been on calixta and rivotril since monday for sleeping, it's okey, if I don't overthink like I did yestrday I will go to sleep sometimes with sometimes without interruptions. But my DPDR got worse, like especially for colors it's weird, I didn't have that before meds, it was just weird before meds, now color are different. Don't know if it is because of my meds I know they can boost dpdr but I've been on zoloft for 5 days. Not sure should I just quit them and check if they were causing this ( just stay on rivotril for sleep) or should I just keep being on them for next 2 weeks until they start doing what they have to. Nights are good ususally I feel okey and like normal, but days are not good, especially since I cannot just let it go and don't think about it. If I can think about anything else it would be good, just like yestrday when I was on birdtday party in coffee shop

Hi all! I am at my wits end
So my orange boy is almost 10, and yes he's neutered. We've had him all his life, and he has occasionally sprayed before (maybe 1-2 in a year). But it's never been an issue.
We got another cat in November '23 (originally a foster, but we fell in love lol) and the first 2-3 months were fine. It was a rough start of course but they get alone great and cuddle/play together, occasionally they do tussle a bit. But anyways, he started spraying a LOT. On the couch, around our bed, our laundry, and he straight up peed on the cat bed. I carpet cleaned outer entire apartment, and the couch, and got a 'cat spray deterent' that I sprayed in all the areas that our cat sprayed. I got a calming pheromone plug-in, AND a pheromone spray that I occasionally use. We started keeping our bedroom closed during the day, as that was the room he did it the most.
And it helped. But not completely. We keep our bedroom open at night because they both cuddle with us (and we didn't think it fair to only let one cat in. Also he would CRY all night if we locked him out). And he never sprayed/peed while we were in there
Until now! I just got a new comforter and he straight up peed, full bladder, on the bed as we slept. I cleaned the blankets and the mattress, and used the spray-deterent on the spot too. And then two nights later.... he did again. SAME SPOT.
I am certain it's because of our new cat ( shes a lady btw), it must be a territorial thing. He is very healthy, and does still use the litter box. We use the same litter we have for years, and we have 2 litterboxes, but do not have room for a third.
I don't know what to do anymore! I feel like I tried everything and followed all the advice our vet gave. It sounds silly, but it stresses me out so terribly. The first thing I do when I get home is think "does it smell like cat pee?" I'm afraid to have people over. I feel like all I can do is just except the life of cat-piss

im looking for shooter games with reality based weapons and crafting / modding systems.
i recently played: ******************* - Singularity: pretty cool theme and lots of weapons, tho i stuck with ar and sniper :D - Homefront: alright kinda game, blasted through it in a day - Homefront Revolution: very repetitive gameplay, tho the weapon modding was a welcomed surprise - ZERO Sievert: 2D tarkov with extraction and looting enemies, awesome weapon modding system - The Division 1 and 2: one of my alltime favorite franchise - FarCry 3 and 4: 1 (or 2?) of ubisoft´s jewels, open world FPS + following Ubi´s typical open world formular - Dead Island 2: awesome gore and stress reliever after a tough day at work

if you have more suggestions, plz let me know. i think u can get a general idea of what im looking for. singleplayer preferred as i play 99% of games solo and i dont care if the games are already older. i dont have the beastiest of machine (2070S + 5600X) but it can do farely well :P

I have one HP ProLiant ML110 which today has two 1TB HDDs in Raid 1 (mirror). It runs Windows Server and on that machine there are multiple MS SQL Server instances installed (I think there are 8 of them) and one linux VM. The machine is old but it still has 2 Xeon cpus and 64 gig ram. Sometimes it is really slow and I am thinking that the bottleneck here are the two HDDs where everything is installed… In my opinion the easiest way to boost it is swapping the HDDs with SSDs but not sure what SSDs are best for those SQL servers. I am thinking of getting 2x 1TB WD Red SSD as they are originally NAS oriented and have high endurance rate (2500 TBW). Do you think the WD Red SSD is a good option for this? Thanks!
