Recently got a R4 DS Pro, and it works wonderfully after putting the BL2CK kernel on (although trying to get SnemulDS to even boot is making me retch, and the sleep bug is an annoyance).
However, I've seen people customising their cards, which sounds neat, and I've found the BMPs I need to replace. I have two JPEGs, which I have resized, but whatever BMP format I convert them to either doesn't show at all (just rainbow TV static) with 24bit colour depth, or the colours are completely wrong compared to the same file on pc (skin showing as purple, etc) when I try 16bit.
I'm absolutely losing my mind, and apologies if there's a more appropriate sub for this

I would like to change back to my last name at birth on my passport (I have already changed my driver’s license and health card). I assumed my spouses last name (instead of legally changing it). We have been separated for 10 years but never legally separated or divorced.
So my question is, when applying for a new passport with my maiden name (my current one has my married name) do I need a separation agreement or divorce agreement? I will have my birth certificate, drivers license and marriage certificate (used as a linking document between married and maiden last name). Passport Canada is a little vague so not sure if what I have is sufficient. Thanks!!

Howdy folks. My bf (21M) currently lives with me and my parents, but he recently lost his job and won't be able to be here by tomorrow afternoon. I'm terrified and looking for some beginner advice, as neither of us have been homeless before.
To give an outline of our situation, I have a car, he doesn't. He has a bike, but unfortunately no rack or trailer. We're in southern Ontario, Canada. I have a full-time job and net about $2k a month, but a bit over half that goes to expenses. It's enough money to keep us fed, but not enough to find a place to live, which starts at about $1500/mo. around here.
I have plenty of credit available to cover absolute necessities, but I also have a decent bit of credit card debt that I do not want to add to. I know I need to get frugal and seriously cut down on my spending to get us through this. I wanted to get rid of that debt before I had to search for new housing, but that plan fell through.
My boyfriend's plan is to ride to a nearby city where there should hopefully be more jobs available, as well as shelters and other resources. He's not addicted to any hard drugs nor does he have any debilitating illnesses, though he does have a dependence on weed as well as ADHD (medicated for that) and PTSD.
My biggest concerns are sleep and weather. He doesn't have a sleeping bag, and doesn't think he needs one, but I feel like that'd be crucial. Luckily the snow and cold weather are many months away, but there's still rain to worry about. He says he'll find some secluded wooded areas to set up a tarp and sleep under that. He has a gym membership, but it's small without many amenities so he's gonna look into getting a membership in the new city at a bigger gym with showers.
I'd really just love to hear some advice for what's crucial during those first few days, or things you wish you had when you first ended up on the streets. Thank you all so much in advance. Seeing your stories and reading about you folks surviving for years and eventually getting out of this mess puts my mind at ease just a little bit, but the anxiety is still killing me :p

So lately I have been getting these phone calls from people who sound Indian, and they call me on a telephone number that is exactly the same number as the number on the back of my credit card. They tell me they are from my CC company and they try telling me that someone is trying to use my card traveling and purchasing tickets on Alaska Airlines and trying to make charges in Canada (I live in US), and they ask me if it’s me.
Obviously I say no, then they ask me if my card is perhaps lost or stolen and do I have the card to get me to check if I have it. I go get the card and tell them I actually have it. They then ask me what the expiration date and security code is on my card to verify it. When they called they even knew my name.
Of course asking me for security code and expiration date was a huge red flag and I said something was wrong that they were asking me this.
They told me to look at my caller ID and the telephone number on the back of my CC in trying to prove it was my CC company which the phone numbers perfectly matched, but this only further put up a red flag for me that this is how they were validating themselves.
I told them something was wrong and that I would hang up and call the CC company back directly and speak with another agent for validity, because while talking to them I logged onto my card through the app and didn’t see any charges I was unfamiliar with or what they were saying.
They were trying to keep me on the phone instead of wanting me to do that and kept pushing the agenda of checking the phone number on caller ID and my CC. At this point I knew they were scammers, said this, and they hung up immediately when I insisted I was calling the company back directly to validate and called CC directly. Sure enough, there was no fraudulent charges and they were trying to rob me. I cancelled the current card and had CC send me a new one just to be safe.
The problem now is that they call me every night trying to do the same thing and if I don’t answer, they will call over and over trying to make it appear as it’s an urgent call trying to get me to answer. If I do answer, it’s another Indian guy trying to do the same scam pitch all over again. I answered, told them I knew they were trying to rob me and this has been reported already, yet they keep trying every night now any way.
I can’t block the number because if my real CC tries calling me about something the number will be blocked and I can’t do that. But if I don’t block them, then I get a barrage of phone calls every evening until I do answer. I call them a few choice words telling them I know they are trying to rob me and then it stops for the night cause they immediately hang up.
The only thing I can do is cancel my card entirely for good and then block the number. I don’t want to do that though because this is my second biggest credit line, and even though I don’t use the card hardly ever now, I still like to keep it for an emergency need kind of thing.
The CC company already knows about the problem but there is nothing they can do.
Is there anything I can do further?
How do they spoof the CC company so perfectly like that? I have never seen that before.
Don’t understand why the FBI isn’t handling something like that either when they can mask as the CC company so easily and know Americans names and have their CC number. They must be getting away with robbing a lot of folks this way.

Looking for some advice on buying a new gaming laptop since years. Hope you can give some feedback. :)
Specifically looking for a laptop, since I also will be using it for work. I work from home, the office and at clients. Now daily driving an intel Macbook Pro which is showing it’s age.
I’ve done quite some research, but I must say it is still a lot to process. Being in the Apple ecosystem-system for years I feel I really have been out of touch with other machines.
So I’ve done a lot of reading on gpu’s and vram en tgp. I’m currently looking at laptops either the following Nvidia cards: - 4060, laptops here cost around € 1.000-1.200 - 4070, can find laptops for around € 1.500 - 4080, mostly over € 2.000. Cheapest I found was € 1.800 I want to play the current AAA titles, think Jedi Survivor, but also games like City Skylines 2 and Planet Zoo/Coaster.
So I get the 4080 is superior, but that’s really stretching my budget. If i could spend somewhere between € 1.000-1.500 that would be great. But from what I understand, the 4070 is not really a good deal at that point. So going for a machine with a 4060 seems interesting, but the 8gb of vram worries me for longetiivty. (Would like to use it for at least 5 years if possible)
If you can give me any advice in this, that would be great.

Hi everyone. I think we should not sit silently and wait for something good to happen. We should start creating awareness about the Fact that Islam is Incompatible with the modern day Values like Liberty , Democracy , Live and Let Live , Tolerance etc.
Right now the Situation of Islam is in a weakened state but it has a very high potential to grow stronger in the future. Most European Countries have a very negative opinion about Muslims . They are voting for The Right Wing parties in their Respective countries In hopes to curb immigration. But the problem is not with Muslims but with the Quran itself and it's blind supporters.
Many people are unaware of the fact that Islam is not a Religion that is completely intolerant with others and when given power , tries to destroy the same things that it used to grow in power. It looks like a peaceful religion (Victim card playing) when in minority , but when given power , it shows it's true colors . For example , look at countries like Bangladesh , Afghanistan ,Iran , Pakistan . Even without power it is wreaking havoc in countries like England and Germany .
People are blaming things on Poverty , Arab Culture , Radicals , etc. when the problem is with Islam (Quran) itself. WE need to make people Aware of this.
Many Muslims are Moderates who don't follow Quran to the letter But will support the ideology behind it. Many Moderates are still Homophobic, Misogynistic , Hating people who follow other religions , think that eating pork is bad , apostasy is looked down upon etc.
They mostly live in countries like India , US , Canada , Russia , where there is more religious freedom and they Haven't seen the true colors of Islam (Killing apostates , blasphemers , Gays . Restricting women's freedom).
Our Goal is Simple :

1. Remove the support that Leftists give to Islam . (Through Awareness of the violence justified by the Quran)
   
2. People don't name everything we do as Islamophobic . (Again , Promoting Awareness)
   
3. Muslims can't use Victim card anymore. (Again , Through shedding light on it's violent teachings)
   

The Reason Islam is Still supported by it's followers is because of the Brainwashing done by the teachings of the Quran itself. Also the reason Others are Unaware of the dangers of Islam is because of the Sympathy it gets from others. I think If we don't Start taking action . we have a lot to lose . Many Muslims right now are teenagers who after a few years will be in power and if they are brainwashed by their religion , they will cause the reason for the Domination of Islam .

So I am currently in Japan and before leaving Canada, I contacted CIBC to have my Credit and Debit Cards enabled for international purchases. However, upon arrival, I haven't been able to use my debit card for some reason and I would prefer to use it because my credit card has a 10% fee if used overseas. Is there anywhere I could contact while in Japan or am I just screwed?

My husband and I started dating during Covid. We are both gamers, and had met through my brother who is a long time friend of his. They met once before.
My attraction was his voice, his personality and eventually finding out he was very handsome didn’t hurt either. We connected right away and fell in love. A year and a bit of disappointment, the border finally opened and we met in person.
The chemistry has been undeniably strong. He fell hard and so did I. I began to get excited at the idea of marrying him. Starting a life together. The works!
I visited him afterwards and met his family. He lives at home as he’s saving money and helps his mom a lot around the house and overall. She’s older (65+) and needs help a lot. She’s energetic and light hearted but also has a wicked streak.
I never anticipated this. When I met she was super sweet. It was his sister that gave me a hard time at first, which was difficult but I persevered regardless. His mother started as supportive, but as soon as I started discussing future plans, everything began to change.
Suddenly I was rushing things, my husband, life , etc. I was 25 when we dated and he was 23. We were younger but not THAT young. We both eagerly discussed marriage since week 2 of dating. We dated a year and a bit when I first met his family.
Every conversation with his sister or mom during the first year or two of dating revolved around my lack of education. They’re a degree family (teachers at a elementary school and pre-K) and looked down on me because I didn’t have one, so I decided to open up about my trauma and childhood to help them understand why I’m where I’m at in life, and that it’s actually way better than I could ever imagine.
I have my own place. I make good money at a corporate job I’ve been at for several years, and I travel frequently. I have a full life of friends and family of my own. I don’t talk to my mom because she was physically abusive until I was 17 and worse. His mom knows this.
I explained that we need a marriage based visa approval before I can legally move to his country (USA) from mine (Canada). Student visa is pricey and not ideal for future plans. I went through the process and it all over 20 times in length. Trying to get everyone to understand it was the best option to get married. They fought it HARD. I cried so much, so many times.
I had no idea why they were soiling on our goals and on me. My husband was so excited to get married, he knew what we needed to do. They actively tried to convince him not to do it but then helped him plan my engagement decorations and cake. His sister was annoyed by this, since it was hard to watch her younger brother grow up and as her own marriage was rocky at the time.
After we got married his mom started making comments only to me about how we have to “wait and see how it all goes after a year” implying we wouldn’t last that long. She constantly says stuff like this. Especially when we’re alone in the kitchen having what I thought was an open conversation.
She’s accused me of marrying him for a green card, of trying to rush our marriage to have babies, and trap him.
I have explained countless times my plan and our plan to wait for kids. Yes I’m older than him but we have goals before kids come that we want to achieve. Pair her general comments with her mean remarks whenever we mention future kids, and I just see someone trying to tear me down.
The worst thing she said is that she thinks if I got pregnant and my relationship with him fails, that I’ll “take the baby to Canada”. And that if things don’t work out before kids, I’ll be alone out here. Yeah.
Despite all this, I have always helped her and been nice. Even too nice.
Today was the straw that broke my camels proverbial back. I had helped her while she was really sick with what we found out to be COVID, for 2 weeks while I am visiting my husband before we fly away for our 1 year Anniversary trip. I made her home made soup, I cleaned her house, I checked on her. I made a custom recipe book for my Mother’s Day gift to her. I got her whole family to sign it after.
We haven’t celebrated due to her being sick. We were supposed today. My husband and I came back from a day out and she starts ranting about our sex life to him, and I am overhearing this from his room. She was talking about it in the open dining room randomly.
I had a private talk with her when she was at the end of her sickness, as my husband and I had some tense talks and I wanted to get insight. I had mentioned in passing that my iud strings were cut during a precancer cell removal surgery. That I was being careful but still worry for us sometimes, but that I’m taking precautions.
She didn’t say much besides “ oh that’s good! I’m glad to hear that”. Then she brings it up today, 4 days later. In front of my husband who in already discussed this with. She’s lying and saying I sounded unsure and scared, that we’re being careless and that she’s praying we don’t get pregnant. She tells him he should take mint pills, get a temporary vasectomy, and that I should get checked / scanned. That she doesn’t know if we’re compatible if we have tense talks lately and we may find out after living together FT. She said she wishes she could twist his balls, that she had a nightmare I got pregnant and “someone got hurt” but didn’t elaborate so as not to “call it into existence “ We’re just standing there stunned. She plays it off like she cares, but she’s just being so negative.
I levelled with her, assuring her I would take precautions once again. That her concern is real. Well shortly after we went to his room feeling good about hearing her out while talking. But then I hear his mom gossiping to his older sister. She barely looked at me after when I walked in. She was noticeably cold to me.
His mom was syrupy sweet to me. Saying we (her son and i) should go on a walk to enjoy the sunnny day! I cried the whole time asking him why she’s so mean, why she can’t trust us to be adults.
I cried so hard I skipped lunch and dinner, I had an anxiety attack. I couldn’t breathe, I’m disbelief at what I saw and heard today. It’s like nothing I did in the past 4 years and 1 year of marriage almost, mattered to her or made any impact.
My husband went up and talked to her, for a long time. He came down and spoke on her behalf, detailing how concerned she was for me and my health “stuff” and that it holds heavy on her heart. She doesn’t want us to go through worse (baby is worse?) and wanted to get her point across. That she loves me and accepts me as her own.
Well after I stopped sobbing, I texted her saying I was sorry for today and why stress I caused her with my words.
She texts back giving me shit for not “coming to her directly” as she felt it was important i hear what she said to her son too. That if she didn’t care she wouldn’t bring it up to us. That we will figure it out as we’re adults. Night night with heart emoji.
I texted back a big paragraph (like this post) reminding her that she wasn’t direct with me as she was talking to my husband about making sure I was on birth control, insinuating I’m lying about my IUD being effective. If I didn’t walk in the chat never would have happened. That she can’t expect me to come upstairs and hash it out if I’m so upset I can’t stop crying. That it’s unfair to put that on me after i was the bigger person and apologized to her tonight. She never said sorry to me directly.
My poor husband is in the middle, especially as he’s the youngest (27). I told him it’s time to move out and detach from the emotionally toxic relationship with his mom. He agrees.
He’s tried to leave a few times but she guilts him into staying. Today was the first day he saw her true colours towards me, he hated it!

Hi everyone, I’ve been having this problem with my iPhone for a couple weeks and i just can’t find a solution.
Once my iPhone reaches 100% battery charge and I disconnect it, the following starts to happen: Using the first 20% of the battery, the level drops at a normal rate and the phone behaves as usual. When it gets to 80%, the iPhone restarts and when it turns back on, the battery level shows 10%. I can use it for a few more moments until it suddenly restarts again, and when it turns back on, it shows around 75% battery. As I continue using it, the phone keeps restarting, fluctuating between 10% and 70% battery, doing it faster and faster until I can't even unlock the phone before it restarts. To use it again, I have to plug in the charger and repeat the whole process.
Additional information: - iPhone 14 Pro Max - Battery health at 83% - No accessories connected - Issue didn’t start after an update - Phone has been factory reset and restored through iCloud - Apple support says it’s a “system stability failure”
Other symptoms: - Before it starts restarting, the phone's volume drops significantly, even when the volume is at 100% - Sometimes it restarts right when I open the camera app
The only thing out of the ordinary i did before this issue began was to install “Delta game emulator” app and download .bin files for nintendo ds games (now deleted)
