Staphylococcus aureus is a bacteria that can live in the nostrils, ears, mouth, tonsils, and skin. It may cause or be associated with your congestion, swollen lymph nodes, sinus problems, sore throat, eczema, rosacea, acne, cystic pimples, folliculitis, bowel disease, chronic fatigue, diabetes, lupus, weight gain, hair loss, and other diseases. Chlorhexidine, iodine, or Triple Antibiotic Ointment (Neosporin) may stop the Staph infection. See inside for more information.

2024.05.29 06:47 featherwinglove Tightniks Run Two: ...where the concept of *furnaces doesn't exist...

[Let me know if a chapter a week is okay; I'm thinking it might be a bit too often. Run Zero: https://redd.it/1csb71x Run One: https://redd.it/1cwxbsg]
The mining foreman refused to go to sleep, and watched intently as Tightniks finally reached over and set it home with one hand. Its last nervous little sigh was the only thing he remembered-
The ship is without power, and Tightniks can't run the radar much without draining the batteries...
32s: First trap.
He built it big this time, and there are six trimps in there. They look familiar somehow, the light one with dark hair and an unusually short and broad tail compared to the rest, a big-eared green one, a grey one, a yellow one, and a red one with big paws and "XIII" on its rump, and a brown one with pink ears that takes the lead and cheers, "Kakka!" Once he lets them out, they all follow him intently around like just-hatched birds do their mother. He shows them the busted off cockpit and forward cabin of the ship he just crashed and they get inside and start da- ...nope, sticking with "dancing". He busies himself looking for the survival pad.
Until he hears the squeak of a baby trimp. They're feeding it- ...rocks. Carefully selected, aluminate rocks. What the heck are they doing? Whatever, I've got to get some conventional food for- What's that? He's got the survival pad already, but this was outside the ship, it must have materialized when he descended through that glowing grey mist getting out. He gets it flipped over and turned on.
"Manual portal activation 2 successful:" it displays, "rare shield equipped 54%Stg 14%Atk MT 0 Nu loaded / 399 He loaded / Metal challenge active / Total portal activation 956"
Metal challenge? The human selects it.
"You have the Metal challenge active. Tweak the portal to bring you to an alternate reality, where the concept of Miners does not exist, to force yourself to become frugal with equipment crafting strategies. If you complete The Dimension Of Anger without disabling the challenge, miners will re-unlock."
He's so confused, What the Loy is a Dimension of Anger? I think I have a headache from this high gravity. Sits down for a moment.
Notices that one of the trimps is sleeping in a small deep hole just at the edge of the garden, apparently to have a nap in standing upright.
I don't believe you, "portal". I'm training that one first chance I get!
56s: Pop full.
There are ten of them already?? I'm still working this derpy little potato patch to get enough food to bulk up just ONE of the- He looks at the portal pad and blurts out loud, "Fifty-six SECONDS??" He postulates that he's in a time-dilated environment, and that the portal is measuring time somewhere "out there", this "map frame" environment. It's like those Star Trek episodes he can't remember "Wink of an Eye" and "Blink of an Eye" that he can't quite remember. [One of them is Star Trek TOS, and one of them is Star Trek: Voyager and I forget which one came from where.]
1m57s: Arable in Z1c13.
The human walks along and one of the trimps viciously fights the various hostiles that try to come at him, staying ahead. Just behind, he finds that hole-digger busted into a cave big enough for 9 of them, and they start raising babies to fill it up.
3m37s: Miners in Z1c30.
It's broken! he notices of the data card he just picked up. It's one of the ones that flew out of the ship when he undogged the ship's side hatch, but it didn't survive. What was on it? He's got a vague memory of a big tanuki-tailed trimp, much bigger than the- Wait! This memory is of hole-digger all grown up. So this is- he looks at the smashed data card in his hand, ...this is the Miners card. At least there's some lying about so we're not totally deprived of metal.
That's odd. I'm sure I spent longer training this little guy than "one second map frame." The human looks at the black trimp with the grey head fur and silvery eyes, "So, can you say something yet?"
"Shijou." [Takane and Takanya are not black, it is their favorite clothing color.]
"Okay, can you say something else?"
9m12s: Zone 1, 40 pop, 3.5s RC with Z0/1, 13m19s turkimp. 12m55s: First scientist.
"Tai," his first scientist waves at him.
"Hmm," the human tries to think of a better test, "What color is the sky?"
"Shijou." The exasperated human is about to sigh in despair when he notices a card in its hands, with one word on it, "Blue."
"What?" he takes it, "You can't speak but you can write, huh?"
"Shijou," it twirls its paw off the end of the card in his hand. The human turns it over, and in small writing, it has "Technically, the sky isn't blue, it's a foible of Rayleigh scattering in an oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere. And you have 'TIGHTNIKS' embroidered on the left side of your uniform."
A look of astonishment sweeps over the human. I never taught it about Rayleigh scattering. Apparently, the scientist training has unlocked its brain to access the collected knowledge of a previous life! Then he looks at his uniform and groans, spanking his eyebrows in realization. The trimp had apparently noticed him wandering around the camp wracking his brain and talking to himself trying to remember his own name, and it's right there the whole time! He spanks his eyebrows again.
The very well fed grey-headed trimp starts doing experiments, leaving him to take the turkimp back to his farmers. Too bad it's only a quarter as fast at it as he is.
32m25s: Zone 3, 79 pop, 4.5s RC with Z1/2; c16, 79 pop, 6.8s RC with Z2/3.
"Nano! Nano, nano, nano." The D&B (that's dodge and block) foreman has an impressive yellow mane, light face, green body, and brown hind limbs, and moves like a blur when it decides to. When asleep, it's as unarousable as an exhumed fossil, except with the food article Yellow the scientist calls an "owny geary". [Puchim@s Afuu]
Helping it out is a brown-maned white trenching expert Tightniks finds oddly familiar. It has no problem mining, but couldn't start a fire if its life depended on it, so smelting is out of the question.
I guess that's how the Metal challenge really works. Too bad I suck at it. Tightniks is spending all his smelting time smacking out nails and joist hangers for the houses, and has nothing left for fighting gear.
1h53m25s: Zone 9, 306 pop, 7.9s RC with Z8/15, no turkimp.
The white trimp with the brown head fur- ...whichever one it is because it, or one that looks just like it, sometimes (apparently) burns itself up or blows itself up trying to build a metallurgical furnace. This one is digging a hole right now, into the concrete of some ruined building's foundation. It hits some strapping and rebar, makes a happy sound, follows it along and gets it sorta clear of the concrete bonded to it, and rips it out of the ground to throw on the metal pile. It now seems content to do that instead of trying to smelt ores.
"Red?" Tightniks glances at one of his scientists, "Do you think we could take it to- What's that place you said you visited five hundred years after some misty fight or-"
"Cloudy strife," it says, "Yeah, Midgimp is like that, we could probably map a route through there. Lots of metal. Especially the part that had an avalanche happen and fell down. Broke all that stuff out of the ground already." [Final Fantasy VII and Advent Children cinematic and Sector 7 collapse.]
"Okay," Tightniks says, "Let's do that."
5h32m02s: Zone 21, 2042 pop, 14.9s RC with Z20/232, no turkimp.
"Ooooookay," Tightniks growls, "There is something off about this thing."
"Shijou?" the grey one looks at the yellow one with concern about their human starship pilot friend.
The human stoops, picks up the little green gem on the ridge between Zone 20 and 21, looks at it, huffs, and asks, "Any idea where this comes from?"
"Err..." the red one seems hesitant to say, "I think you made it."
"Really?" the human huffs, "How could that be?" Then he tosses it at Red, "See if anything reacts to it. It might be radioactive, so we should take turns to minimize exposure."
"Really?" Red's holding it now, "What makes you say that?"
"Because I'm pissed off for no reason I can figure out," the human says, "I think it's coming from-" he gasps, "Waitamint!" He starts searching for the portal pad.
"Frags," the red one says quickly, "I think it's arranging a route. You're good with maps," it tosses the gem to the grey scientist.
The human has his portal pad up and reads aloud, "You have the Metal challenge active. Tweak the portal to- yada yada yada. Tiss tiss t- complete The Dimension Of Anger without disabling- miners will re-unlock."
\BOOM\** They turn to see (another of) the white brown-haired trimp'/s' attempts at a metallurgical furnace explode, and it seems both very frustrated and has really hurt its toe.
He snaps his fingers, "That's gotta be it. Although, does it mean 'miners' or 'furnaces'?" He re-reads the portal pad while the scientists shrug.
"Shijou," the grey one has just finished tracing the route map the gem was showing.
"Are we going any faster than on previous cycles, you think?" he asks Red.
"What's a cycle?" Red asks.
"We're stuck in time loop, you realize?" the human says.
"Well," the yellow one jumps off a little rock spire it was using to see farther ahead, directly into a seated position on the ground with an impressive thump the human can both hear with his ears and feel through the ground of the more-than-Earth gravity planet, "that explains a few things." The little scientist trimp seems quite morose at the news.
"This thing says the fastest we've ever got this 'anger' map done is ten hours, thirty-five, but the clock right now is at five hours, thirty-four." Tightniks tilts his head, frowns one eyebrow, and taps, "Getting it done faster increases attack damage somehow, and oh-"
"What now?" the yellow one asks, still seated beside the spire.
"It says we already got a 2.5%-er for having a million traps," the human says, "I don't remember doing that. Maybe..." he sighs, "Maybe that's a good thing, 'cus I'd probably go insane building them all. Still though, it says we're going faster, but it doesn't feel like it."
"How'd you know how it feels," Red asks, "if you don't remember it?"
"'Day jaw voo' I think is the term," the human says, "or something. The sense that all this has happened before, but I'm not quite remembering and there's no physical evidence of it."
"Shijooooooooooo..." the grey one moans, waving a card at him. On it:
"In order, but we don't know if that means chronological order or frequency/proportion of memories:
"- The ship crashes (pretty sure that happens every time) "- The human builds huts "- The human teaches some trimps to speak and do science "- The human builds houses "- The human makes maps "- The human builds mansions "- The human blows up and gets himself killed somewhere around Z17 to Z21, often on a dragimp "- The human only recently/occasionally builds hotels "- The human only recently/rarely tamed a dragimp "- The human only recently/rarely mapped the Dimension of Anger"
Tightniks sits down and offers it back.
"Tai," it flatly refuses to take it back, paws up and eyes closed.
"It's kind of a relief," Tightniks rubs his temples, then looks at it again, "knowing it ain't just me."
6h17m43s: Portal PB, 1% AP for sub-8h, 45 He, 7.149 He/hr, 2209 pop, 13.6s RC.
The last head of the map's boss monster goes limp as one of the fighting trimps' dagger points goes into it, and the huge thing settles on its tail, resting on the package that seems to be the prize of this map. And there's a popping sound, and then something mechanical.
Is that a scroll compressor? Tightniks looks at the package. The deflating monster's lifting envelope material drapes over everything underneath it. "Yellow, Shijou!" he snaps and points, "roll up that side of it. Keep this part from sucking down on the extractor nozzle!"
All ten of the scientists jump in, literally, pushing the gas in the bag towards the compressor. Tightniks as well, rolling up the front.
Until he kicks, and nearly trips over, a smaller package that might be the explanation for the reason why the center of the monster's defense seemed to be a little away from the big package he could see. It's in the right place, he realizes. He gets it uncovered and reads stenciled-and-sprayed block letters on it:
"DT TIME PORTAL / THIS SIDE DOWN"
Perhaps the Dimension of Anger is so named because of the rage suddenly rising up in Tightniks' throat. It isn't so much as the free-floating aggression suddenly has an answer, there is definitely a fresh batch of rage and anger as he grips the nearest Dagger V, Mark 2 with both hands-
Refocusing on surviving the next few seconds, the pilot turns on the radar for the final approach and takes a last look around, then straight ahead at his forward camera and primary flight display...
He crouches, sets the dagger down gently, then starts clearing the debris from the box's grab iron. He tries to lift it- Damn, this is heavy! As he gets it turned over, gravity finishes the job, and it shakes the ground with an impressive thud as it falls right side up.
"DT TIME PORTAL / THIS SIDE UP" There's a square cutout in the middle of one side of it, with a sliding cover at the bottom of it.
"Get the pad!" he screams, seeing that his scientists are almost done rolling up the megablimp.
The grey one already has the survival data pad and offers it to him.
"The big one," Tightniks clarifies, "The big one." he picks up wide flat rainbow cable and its edge socket in one hand, "It goes here," he points at it with the other. "It must have come with me-" He had taken the small survival data pad and notices something, "Oh?" He starts looking around, "Hey!"
The white trimp with the brown hair is napping in a hole next to the smouldering remains of its latest attempt at a smelting furnace.
"Hey, mining buddy!" he whistles at it, "Mining buddy!"
It wakes with a start and rushes over, but doesn't seem to be in a good mood. But as soon as Tightnik shows it the survival pad, with all of the mining data installed just as if all those broken data cards and scorched scrolls were intact when he found them, fireworks goes off in the little trimp's eyes and it rushes off with the pad. Within minutes, the first furnace that works is chugging away at some ore and it returns to give the survival data pad back to Tightniks.
7h24m49s: Fresh turkimp; 7h25m30s: Labor reallocated.
The big-eared green lumber foreman's mood fell much further than the mining foreman's mood was before Tightniks packed up the turkimp roaster and moved just about everyone over to the smeltery.
The brown-haired, big-tailed white mining foreman was surprised at the change, and very happy. It had climbed up onto the helium compressor cart to check something on the pad a couple cells into the zone.
"Are you upset with me?" the red one asks the human.
"No, not at all," Tightniks says, "Are you getting the feeling that we had an upset at this point last cycle?"
"How would you know it was only the last?" Yellow asks, "Your memory's no better than ours."
"Right," the human sews another patch into his uniform, "However, I've only actually hit the switch on the portal twice, the first one on a challenge called Discipline, and the second on a challenge called Metal, which we just finished. It's easy to sort out from the statistics. I'm nervous it'll get harder to sort out when we're up to, oh," done fixing his uniform, he pops a bit of turkimp into his mouth and chews a couple times, "a few dozen or hundred manual cycles."
"Friggin' solve this faster than that, please," Red grumbles, "I know the emergency counter got to nearly a thousand, but..." he kinda trails off. Finally, he says, "I think we're remembering more cycle to cycle as we get more helium into it. I mean, I'm glad that isn't the only mechanic."
"Can't miss the supernova if it is," the human ponders.
"What?" Yellow chuckles.
"I'm remembering something from before all this, I think it was called a video game, where you'd go forward real-world in the simulation of a time loop, and your real-life head remembering what you did on previous cycles was the only mechanic," the human takes another bite, then dons his uniform shirt while chewing it. After his head pops out of the not-so-crisp-and-fresh uniform neck hole, buttons still done up, he finishes, "one of them had a supernova." [That would be Outer Wilds among the bunch of games with this mechanic, er, Minnit (I know it's spelled differently than "minute"), 12 Minutes, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and- ...I'm sure there are more.]
11h19m28s: Starting void 1 (L30).
With the thermal gloves on, Tightniks gets the void map into the portal device slot. It dematerializes and his fingers close where it used to be in his hands, then he yelps, stands up and starts dancing, "Oh crap, it's cold!" He quickly starts looking for stuff to bundle up. Once not too uncomfortable, he notices something, "You're having trouble, too?"
"No," Yellow and Red look at each other, "Well, not with the cold; this route has a poisonous atmosphere, slows down our young assimilating aluminum at the proper rate."
"Manning the traps will work at full speed, right?" Tightniks says.
"Should if your fingers can handle it," Red confirms.
11h33m57s: Void 1c100.
"You are one ugly muthaf[garble]!" he says when he sees the void boss, "Stay here, I'll be back." Runs some traps, grabs a couple helmets for the fresh volunteers, "Put these on."
"Shijou?" the grey one looks at the red one, really rather perplexed.
"I agree, that's not his usual accent," Red tilts his head, "Tightniks, what has gotten in to you?"
"Stop cheering me up," the human grumbles, "You think this is the real Quaid?"
"I think the cold is affecting him more than he realizes," Yellow offers.
"Phased plasma rifle in the forty watt range," but what the dizzy pilot actually throws at the zone boss is a Mace V-4, "and then I was thinking of breaking your neck."
[Felt like some- "Arnie? Well, the union is pulling out all the big guns today, huh?" (Tom Hanks as Sully) ...no, brain, Arnold Schwarzenegger, not Arnie Gentile (it was really funny to background Sully and listen to that line instead of "That's definitely you" in Terminator 2 while he's posing with the Minigun.) Arnie lines from Predator, Terminator 2, True Lies, Total Recall and The Terminator.]
"Tweak the portal," reads Tightniks from the portal controller aloud, but quietly, "to bring you to an alternate reality, where Trimps are bigger and stronger, to force yourself to figure out a way to build larger housing. Your Trimps will gather 50% more resources, but your housing will fit 50% fewer Trimps. If you complete The Dimension of Anger without disabling the challenge, your stats will return to normal."
"You will also open a new memory coolant unit," Yellow reads, "You think that'll cause a housing bonus?"
"Shijou," the grey one hands him a card saying "We have enough for another gateway."
"Oh, good," Tightniks hands it back after signing it, "Yes, build it."
"We're doing that next?" Yellow asks.
Tightniks sees the little fellow sitting on top of a mound that the human thought was a bowel movement pile from Draglimp, but it must be something more geological if trimps can climb it, let alone want to. "Yeah, I guess," the human answers, "It kinda scares me, I mean I'm going back, but what happens to you guys?"
"We have too much day javo or whatever you called it," Red says. He's usually on all fours, shakes his left hind leg as though something got stuck to his foot, "This isn't incrementing, I'm sure. 13 is less than 956."
"According to this, you'll be twice as big," Tightniks sets down the portal controller pad and stands up from the cart, "It's hard to imagine, especially for Shijou and Diggy. We'll clear thirty-six, that's it."
14h04m37s: Z33c95, IC.
"Are you sure we can make Zone 37 start?" the red one asks.
The yellow one is standing on Red's shoulders.
"It said we did last time," Tightniks taps on the crude leather bag strapped to his back, the portal pad inside it, "though maybe..." he tilts his head, rolls whatever he was sucking on in his mouth for a moment, "it just happened while I was building those traps. No, I'm sticking with that plan."
"If it's going to take that long," Red grinds its jaws sideways for a moment and lets its eyelids get lazy, frustration clear in its tone, "why do it again?"
"Because I've got a bad feeling about this 'Size' thing," Tightniks says, "it drops our resourcing by 75% assuming we build the same amount of housing as before, which we won't because of the reduced resourcing. We needed 65 capacity in the cabin and huts before we could do run the gypsum/paper wall machine we found. I have a funny feeling that never changes."
"We don't need 65 trimps to run it," Yellow says, "just three."
"Yeah," Tightniks says, "but a particular three that know what they're doing, and my day javoo is telling me the last of those is always the sixty-fifth."
"Shijou," the grey one moans from the other side of Tightniks. Didn't have a note this time, just kicking a little rock along as it walks.
"It thinks you're right," the red one growls forlornly, "Hating to say it, but I do too."
14h16m06s: Skel in c1, 50 bones purchased whipimp.
There's a thump at the cart, and then some commotion around it that's noticable enough for Tightniks to come over and take a look. The bone box is empty, all forty-nine titanium bones in it are gone. Tightiks brings his right hand up in front of him, and it's just a balled fist, the bone he was holding a moment ago is gone. As he starts looking for where he must have dropped it, he realizes maybe it's all related. Looking in the bottom of the empty bone box, he finds a note.
"I got you the whipimp. This new Bad Guy will begin spawning in your next zone at an average of 3 spawns per 100 enemies. I hope it helps, but I can't tell yet."
The note is in Tightniks' own handwriting, although lazy but with more consistent kerning. Is this from an older version of myself? Friggin' time travel.

"Getting any day javoo?" Tightniks pants, hands on his knees, but apparently uninjured, or nearly so.
"Not at all," Yellow vehemently responds, slashing the air with its paw, "You?"
"Oh," Tightniks gets his breathing under control, "I think it was a human movie."
"Like a video on that pad?" it gestures at the human's pocket with the small one.
"No, a bigger screen," the human says.
"Fifty-five inches?" the trimp scientist chuckles.
"More like fifty-five feet," the human rubs the sweat out of his eyes, "Lots of people watching. It was called a sin."
"Ah," the trimp ponders, "Like a crime, vice, psychopathy or bad habit?"
"Er..." the human taps his forehead trying to remember, "Sorry, a cinema."
[The whole thing is obviously an homage to something I remember only slightly better than Tightniks, I think it was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. As I'm posting this, I sadly realize that Nick Rekieta's arrest was between when I wrote this and now.]

2024.05.29 06:40 Indikalee copper IUD start to finish experience - cystic acne and mental fog

hello! today i got my iud removed so i just wanted to make an all encompassing post about my experience using a copper iud, for anyone considering getting one, removing one, experiencing symptoms etc. i hope this is in some way helpful, whether it be making a decision or feeling validated in your experience :)
i got my copper iud 3 years ago. it was my first time ever using bc. i chose it due to its non hormonal properties in a time in my life when i felt i needed it. on average everyone says you'll adjust to the common symptoms, like heavier periods, more cramping etc, in the first 6 months. some ppl say they go back to a more normal flow as well but i just wanted to note that in my own experience, the cramps and heavy bleeding i experienced after the first month stayed exactly the same for the next 3 years. Infact, 2 years into it, having very tender sore full breasts before my period became a recurring thing that i had never experienced before. There were definitely side effects that developed the longer i had it.
Additionally, last year, i started developing cystic acne like nothing i had ever experienced, despite not a single thing changing in my life. The acne progressively got worse and worse over the course of the year, with it being at its worst point about one month ago. The way i was breaking out, and the areas, are extremely foreign to me, and not comparable to any of my families skin either.
DESCRIPTION: lower jaw and some on my cheek, deep and painful, very slow healing or not going away, recurrent, resistant to treatments that previously worked, leaving dark spots and scars - i have never had dark spots previously. I have an insanely clean diet, don't consume sugar or bad oils, cut out caffeine for long periods, stopped wearing makeup, drink loads of water - and it only got worse šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«
I feel really confident its related to my iud - that's what my body is telling me. Along with more cramping, more water retention, extreme fatigue, constant mental fog and moodiness, i've seen many others say they have experienced the same thing. I am obv not a doctor and can't directly prove these were caused by the iud, but they were foreign symptoms that felt related to my hormones being disrupted. Perhaps from excess copper affecting my estrogen lvls? not sure. I've heard people say it's good to take zinc for skin if it's being disrupted from the excess copper. I'm more than happy to post an update in a few months now that its removed, if anyone has a similar experience. However, i won't know for sure until i give it time.
My final note is that i have suffered more UTIs in the 3 years I had my iud than i ever have before, even when i was not sexually active. Taking the supplement D-Manos was my solution to this and is highly recommended!
Removal was honestly painless, i didn't even know it happened until she said it was done! nothing broken, so far i haven't even had any spotting or discomfort.
I hope this is helpful to anyone looking for experiences, and if anyone has a similar experience with skin etc and has advice for my healing i appreciate it šŸ™šŸ»šŸ–¤

2024.05.29 06:36 intentionalblanky Weird undiagnosed swelling and more

Iā€™m a 65+ male with a history of CVA 2023; two weeks after a Cerebral angio this March, developed small (swellings on wrists near blood vessels, red palms, redness on inner legs after a hot shower, then a large soft swelling left side base of neck. Now the back/sides of my neck are sore, hands and feet are cold, and there are (so far minor) stroke sequelae occurring.
My guess is delayed onset reaction of the angio dye. Somewhere along the line I also had a CTA to rule out aneurisms that they thought might also be the reason for the wrist swelling. Itā€™s two months now and every test takes two weeks to get ordered and performed.
Aside from my incredible frustration trying to get medical care, Iā€™m really concerned as you can imagine. The bloodwork done to date including a bunch of rheumatological tests, cultures, etc etc ā€¦.. all clean.
Another possibility is that I got asymptomatic Covid and this is a long covid mess.
Everyone is stumped, Iā€™m worried, argh!! Sigh. Anyone have any ideas? Iā€™d be SO GRATEFUL. Two months into this and counting.

2024.05.29 06:34 Main_Boysenberry2235 What do I do?

What do I do?
Sorry for format on mobile. Pictures of her and a recent crate escape.
I have a 13 almost 14 year old pit mix that I have had for a decade next year. Other than aging teeth and occasionally playing too hard for her age which causes soreness, she is in perfect health. Since December every time I leave her at home for 20 mins+ she pees on my rugs, couch or bed, depending on what she has available. Rolling up my carpets when I go only makes her pee on my couch (she pull off couch guards/blocks) or push her way into my room to pee on my mattress.
She has never had issues chewing things and has always been allowed to roam before this. I have tried transitioning her into a crate but like when she was younger crate training is not going well. She has chewed her way or forced her way out of three different crate designs, wire, plastic and furniture crates, all within 30-60 mins and with the occasional injury from shoving through sharp edges. She wonā€™t leave a diaper on throughout the day and even at 13 years old jumps over, chews and digs out of fences, plus with weather cannot be outside.
I am scheduling an appointment to make sure she doesnā€™t have anything like a UTI causing this. However, as she only does it when I leave, and normally go 6 hours without asking to go outside, I believe it is behavioral. In December we moved out of a house with people around constantly. In the past with no issues it had just been the two of us, with me leaving to work. I have a cat and the two get along great, even cuddle so sheā€™s not completely alone. The amount of attention she gets is the same she always had if not more.
I am a single mother with young kids and a very tight budget and honestly cannot handle the stress of having to clean up huge puddles of pee from furniture every day. It can take me hours to get the smell out. Even if I could afford doggy daycare every day she plays too hard for her age and is limping or scratched up every time she leaves.
I am really hoping someone has some ideas on what else to try because if it cannot be resolved by the end of summer I will have to look at rehoming her or even putting her down (only if it is a permanent medical condition). She is otherwise a great dog and has been a part of my life going through high school, moves, marriage, kids and divorce so I would hate to lose her sooner then I naturally will. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

2024.05.29 06:30 Hockey1434 Isnā€™t it really that normal to have a ā€œsoreā€ back essentially all the time for no reason when you get older?

I am only 29 and consider myself to be in fairly decent physical shape (play adult ice hockey weekly, lift weights regularly and daily walks with my dog), but for the past 6-9 months I feel like my back has just been constantly sore. Itā€™s not inhibiting pain, but certainly feels ā€œtightā€ every day with some days more than others.
Iā€™ve considered itā€™s been due to sleep and posture at my mostly desk job, but Iā€™ve been mindful of that and tried to switch up habits. Iā€™m here asking those who have made the trip into the 30+ club is this semi-normal? Should I consider any life changes/remedies or just accept this is part of aging?
TIA!

2024.05.29 06:27 Equivalent_Sun7606 it's getting worse... what do i do?

i got my period when i was 12. since then, my periods ruined me. the pain was all over my uterus area, and in my stomach, thighs, back, etc. throwing up, passing out, etc. then, about a year ago, the pain started localizing to my lower left side (around where my ovary is). my first episode was terrifying. passed out, couldn't breathe. then, last november i got diagnosed with a small cyst in that area, had another excruciating episode, like worst pain i've ever felt, screaming, had to go to the ER, got narcotics, and they didn't see much evidence of a cyst bursting and said it's likely an endometriosis flare. now, twice since that happened, i have had these episodes again (didn't go the the ER, just took narcotics at home) and rode it out. each time I end up getting my period the next day. I have started having dull, deep pain in that area almost everyday. i am constantly terrified. my cramps today have gotten a bit worse there and my boobs are sore, and i am panicking i'm getting another period (even though i'm on the mini-pill). the thing is, my first lap, they didn't find endo. but many doctors said i had all the symptoms and clinically diagnosed me (after ruling just about everything else out.) if i get another lap, will they probably see it? is it getting worse? i'm 17 and i feel so alone and lost.

šŸ”—Adjustable Magazine Pouch for 1911 Firearms - Enhanced Durability

https://preview.redd.it/kjoi30wtla3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f57d92d1964104f7af70aa498733311b444b602
In my daily life as a tactical enthusiast, I've found the Safariland Adjustable Magazine Pouch to be a reliable and convenient addition to my gear. With its ability to adapt to various belt systems and offer precise resistance for magazine removal, this pouch is a versatile and dependable companion.
One aspect that stood out was the closed low-cut front, which effectively secures the magazine and prevents it from accidentally falling out of the pouch. However, I did notice that the built-up channel inside the pouch can be a bit tight when drawing the magazine out, which may require some adjustment on my part.
Overall, this magazine pouch has proven to be a valuable accessory for my firearm, providing me with the ease and security I need while on the go.

šŸ”—Versatile Safariland 71 Single Magazine Pouch for 1911 Magazines

https://preview.redd.it/kbevngcula3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b44f7fd4e89f28ab88c026986c42e52c333e3e8b
In my experience, the Safariland magazine pouch, also known as the 71-Model, proves itself to be a reliable and versatile gear holder. This pouch is designed to accommodate most standard 9mm, . 40 caliber, single stack, and double stack. 45 ACP mags, making it an ideal candidate for various weapons. Additionally, it can fit flashlights, knives, and even multi-tools. The pouch's design, with its flexible accordion construction, allows for a snug fit even with a small footprint and minimal size.
One of the key features that stood out to me was the fit it offers. The adjustable-tensioned design holds your gear securely and prevents it from falling out, even during vigorous activities. I can personally attest to this, as I have successfully used the pouch during my outdoor endeavors, including hiking, camping, and ATV riding. The fit proved to be both functional and comfortable, which is crucial for all-day wear.
However, the pouch's ability to fit a wide range of weapons comes at a price. It may not always fit smaller items like pocket knives or smaller flashlights. In my experience, the pouch was best suited for larger weapons like a Sig P220R or a HK45, but not the smaller firearms or accessories I initially tested it with.
Overall, the Safariland 71-Model magazine pouch offers a reliable and convenient solution for those looking to hold their various gear items securely. Its adjustable-tensioned design and versatile fit earn it praise from many satisfied users, and though some issues may arise with smaller items, its pros outweigh its cons.

šŸ”—Customizable Spandex Front Secure Magazine Pouch with Concealed Carry Option

https://preview.redd.it/osa5eluula3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f3fc0e4473f1f3d96bc1b5ed9c598b2ad10943d
The Stealth Double Magazine Pouch is a game-changer for anyone looking to organize their gun safe. It securely holds two clips with a strong hook and loop backing, making it an excellent option for those who want to keep their handgun and magazines together. The spandex front stretches to fit nearly any size clip, ensuring a snug fit for all types of magazines.
One of the best features of this pouch is its versatility. It easily attaches to any tactical vest or carry bag, making it perfect for concealed carry or storing extra mags while on the go. Measuring 4 inches long and 5 inches wide, each pocket is 2 1/4 inches wide, offering plenty of space for even the largest clips.
Although it works great for many users, there are a couple of drawbacks to consider. Some customers have found that the pouch is too shallow for larger, fully loaded magazines, causing them to droop and potentially slip out. Additionally, while the velcro backing is strong and secure, it may not be as effective on some surfaces as advertised.
Overall, the Stealth Double Magazine Pouch is an excellent product for anyone looking to keep their gun safe organized and well-stocked. With its durable construction, versatile design, and affordable price, it's an essential item for any gun enthusiast.

šŸ”—Stick Magazine Pouch for M4 Triple Stacker - Multicam

https://preview.redd.it/pengx6cvla3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d6278135169c86a4838f835d6bae002e4c20e40
I recently had the chance to try out the Shellback Tactical Triple Stacker Open Top M4 Mag Pouch in Multicam, and I must say, it's a game-changer for any combat enthusiast. This pouch is built to last, with a rugged and durable construction that can withstand even the toughest conditions.
One of the most impressive features of this pouch is its capacity to hold six 30-round M4 magazines in a triple row, double-stacked pattern. This means you can easily store a complete combat load of ammo, giving you the extra firepower you need when you need it most.
The open top design of the pouch is also a major plus. In a high-stress firefight situation, the last thing you want is to struggle to get to your ammo. With the Shellback Tactical pouch, you can quickly and easily access your mags, thanks to the six open top slots.
Each slot also features adjustable bungee retention cords with pull tabs, ensuring your magazines stay securely in place. This attention to detail is what sets this pouch apart from similar products on the market.
Fully Molle compatible, this pouch also comes with six button snap webbing straps, making it easy to attach to any gear with PALS webbing. Whether you're heading into the field for a training exercise or prepping for a real-life combat situation, this pouch has you covered.
While there are no major drawbacks to this pouch, one thing to note is its weight. At 0.6 lb, it might be a bit hefty for some users. However, given its durability and capacity, I believe it's a small price to pay for the added security and convenience it provides.
Overall, I highly recommend the Shellback Tactical Triple Stacker Open Top M4 Mag Pouch for anyone looking to upgrade their ammo storage. It's a solid investment that will last you through thick and thin.

šŸ”—MOLLE Pistol Magazine Pouch for Multi-Caliber Magazines (SKU - 766340)

https://preview.redd.it/g6pshxsvla3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d78ce09395a58f000b08f582b45ad168ccba9e4
I recently had the chance to test out the Tasmanian Tiger Single MCL Molle Pistol Magazine Pouch and it didn't disappoint. The narrow design of this pouch allows for an incredibly discrete appearance, making it perfect for those who value subtlety. Its MOLLE attachment style also offers versatility and ease of use.
I was pleased with the slim profile of this pouch, as it held my magazine securely without sticking out like a sore thumb. However, I noticed that the single magazine capacity might not be suitable for those who prefer to carry multiple magazines. Despite this drawback, the overall build quality of the pouch was quite impressive, giving a sense of durability that I appreciated.
Overall, my experience with the Tasmanian Tiger Single MCL Molle Pistol Magazine Pouch was mostly positive, but I do encourage users to consider their specific needs before deciding to purchase it, as the lack of multiple magazine capacity might be a deal-breaker for some.

2024.05.29 06:23 mmmdahlia been sick for at least two months, weird sores sprouting

20f, was diagnosed with mono in mid to late april but was told i was already ab a week into it. doctor said id probably be good for physical activity around may 25th, just to give a benchmark. ive been resting a lot since then, but more symptoms seemed to come up that seem unrelated. Iā€™ve been congested literally for a month straight, and not able to really breathe well recently (this past week). a couple days ago a small, small white blistesore showed up on the tip of my tongue. i thought i just burned myself on soup i ate, but, today i seem to have, out of nowhere, a total of 5/6 noticeable sores in my mouth. just one on my tongue, but also one under my tongue/on gum area, one on my top gums, one/two where my tonsils were, and one by my back teeth. so literally all throughout my mouth. i do not know whatā€™s going on and im honestly really concerned about all of these weird symptoms

2024.05.29 06:03 ProduceRecent6946 Idk man itā€™s rough

I remember being 13 the first time I used a tape measure to measure out my face and head. I had measured my philtrum to be too long, my lips much too thin and mouth too small. My eyes were far too deep set and hooded. My nose was too small for my face to look balanced. Jaw too wide. A lot of me was and is too wide feeling. My head is big. I was a big baby too. Came out at 11 pounds. Even when smaller physically I can never get the feeling of taking up so much space. I feel like I encompass a room the way bulky furniture does. And itā€™s painful. Because Iā€™d cry and cry and argue with my mom how I felt. How wrong I felt. And sheā€™d cry and get so mad with me. That I was beautiful and Iā€™m comparing myself to things that werenā€™t real but they are. Little things like I was not as beautiful as my friend in an objective way. And my hair is so thin and fine I didnā€™t even have the ability to hide any of it or even pretend. Couldnā€™t do cool hairstyles. Makeup still sits awkwardly on my face no matter how I try to improve. I do a 8 step skincare routine every night and still canā€™t get rid of the red patch of white heads on my nose. It was so effortless for some people. And for a long time I tried to make up for it by being the kind of person who complimented others as much as possible. Every nice thing I had to say was shared. But no one had nice things to say about me if it wasnā€™t about my ass. Even my own family. I am so uncomfortable in my body. I hate being touched or desired. I hate being looked at.
The worst part is how consumed by it I am. How vain I feel. How ugly I feel on the inside. No one will love me for my outside and the inside is just as unsightly. Sometimes I feel so completely and utterly disgusting. I have such a hard time making friends because I feel so deeply and painfully poorly about myself. I donā€™t discuss it with others. Few to no people know how deep my self hatred goes. But I wanted to be beautiful so so bad. Not ā€˜ youā€™re so beautiful to meā€™. I wanted to just be ā€˜youā€™re beautifulā€™. The kind of beautiful that someone would stop to tell me in the bathroom or my social awkwardness got to be cute instead of off putting. The kind where I didnā€™t have to know how my extended family talks about me behind my back. I want to cry pretty. I want someone to be gobsmacked by me. But itā€™s not a reality. Iā€™m never going to get to be like psyche or Helena or Eurydice. And I wish it was over. Iā€™m so tired of being consumed by this. So so so tired.

Went to a parlor April 13th and got a handjob. She may have spit on it but not sure, she was facing away from me. Penetrated with a condom briefly but wasnā€™t feeling it so I went back to handjob without condom for the finish.
Iā€™m paranoid because I feel tingling in my penis occasionally. Sharp pain in lower abdomen. Sore urethra when I am erect but not every time. Last time I had sex with wife the head of my penis had mild burning sensation.
I do masturbate 2-3 times a day plus sex with wife 3-4 times a week, which makes me think I just need to give my dick a break.
Could I have gotten something through saliva no condom or penetration with condom? Or just paranoid?

2024.05.29 05:50 Nomaidenss Am I seen as dirty for having herpes?

Iā€™m still so young (19) and it feels like no one will see me as desirable anymore.

2024.05.29 05:48 exasperatedbean Genital HSV-1 First Outbreak and Disclosing Experience

Hey yā€™all, 25F here. Iā€™m new to the club as I just received my test results a few hours ago, positive for genital HSV-1, and I just want to share my experience so far as Iā€™m on around day (10?) of my first outbreak.
First of all, Iā€™ve definitely cried a few times this last week along with frantically googling, dealing with these awful symptoms, pretending everything is okay at my day job followed by coming home and experiencing intense anxiety (which can be triggered by medical issues).
I suspected it was HSV, but just didnā€™t want to believe it especially because Iā€™ve come out of a 5 year with an abusive alcoholic ex who cheated on me so Iā€™m new to the dating world and dating is hard enough without having to disclose good ole genital herpes. Havenā€™t I been through enough? Iā€™m not sure if I got it from my ex, new guy Iā€™m seeing (said heā€™s clean that heā€™s aware of and I never saw a physical outbreak on him), or if itā€™s something I got from a previous partner and it laid dormant for so long. Who knows, who cares at this point I guess.
I started by feeling a small bump on my inner butt crack which I chalked up to a razor bump. Within a few days, 3-4 more sores popped up and these were all of my symptoms over the course of about a week after noticing the sores: swollen lymph node and slightly sore throat for first couple of days, chills, sweats, burning pee like razor blades, nerve pain throughout lower half of my body (especially my feet), a dull ache in my genitals/surrounding area, burning/itching sores, random tingling, and the worst constipation Iā€™ve ever experienced which is now the main symptom Iā€™m dealing with as I think Iā€™m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for this first outbreak. My doctor prescribed Valtrex as a precaution while I waited for test results and my sores are almost healed up.
Anyway, Iā€™ve been seeing this man for close to two months now, officially dating and exclusive the last couple of weeks so this is VERY fresh. Everything is going damn near perfect with us and I know we both have very strong feelings for each other and are interested in a future together, but with all good has to come bad (aka disclosing my HSV-1 status). I absolutely dreaded this conversation but knew it had to be had since I was symptomatic, we recently had sex right before my outbreak, and I was awaiting test results.
Luckily, he was so incredibly understanding. Of course he said it was a lot to take in at first which I understood. I am so grateful that he responded by basically saying itā€™s a bump in the road that weā€™ll get through together, weā€™ll monitor my symptoms, and it would be silly to jeopardize what we have thatā€™s so special over something like this that I couldnā€™t control. So sharing my experience to show that not all disclosing experiences are horrifying, and I hope you all find the person that chooses to love you through this. And if not, then fucking love yourself.
With that, I still am an anxious mess about how to move forward and about the effects long-term so if anyone has any good research on that Iā€™d be more than interested since I know it affects the nervous system. Obviously having a script of anti-virals on hand if I start to suspect an outbreak is a good idea but any and all advice, tips for dealing with the above symptoms, etc. would be appreciated. Peace and love to everyone reading.
TLDR; Genital HSV-1 Positive, having a lot of random and shitty symptoms, disclosed to my partner with a good response, and asking for advice/tips/tricks to manage symptoms.

2024.05.29 05:43 WaveCave420 Sterilization Success !

Just had my bilateral salpingectomy today! I saw Dr. Charlotte Pickens in La Jolla, CA btw. It was an amazing experience y'all! Much easier than I anticipated! Buckle up, it's a long one, and very detailed! But all positive for the most part LOL
I'm 34 and have never EVER had surgery aside from getting my wisdom teeth out at 16, and a colonoscopy at 24. Never even broken a bone or gotten stitches, nothing. I have a lot of medical anxiety, I was tripping out the most over sleep paralysis despite anesthesia LOL Wasn't even nervous about the actual surgery, just didn't wanna wake up during it and be mentally scarred for life šŸ¤£ Saw a few scary stories on TV once about that phenomenon.
The office gave me Hibiclens at my consult appt to take home & scrub my abdomen with the last 3 showers leading up surgery. Yesterday morning, yesterday evening, and this morning. No deodorant, lotions, perfumes, nail polish or jewelry after my shower this morning.
I was NPO after midnight last night. They instructed me to drink an ensure between 9pm-11pm last night since my surgery was in the afternoon. I also took half an Ativan last night at 9pm to make sure I slept and didn't have anxiety insomnia lol They also instructed me to take my heart arrythmia pill this morning right upon wakening with a tiny sip of water. I had an echocardiogram a week ago, so yes, I got cardiac clearance lol I also had a pre-op transvaginal ultrasound and blood work 2 weeks ago.
When I got there, they called me back to the pre-op room. I got weighed, asked for my height, and had to pee in a cup first thing. They then had me change into my gown, skiddy socks & hair net. They gave me 2 Tylenol 500mg & a Celebrex (200mg - for preventative nerve pain) with a tiny sip of water. Then they took my BP/pulse ox, and started my IV in my left hand, and started fluids and some Ativan. They also put on the leg compression things, man they feel great lol They got me heated blankets, and even had a lil pack of lavender smelly stuff they taped to the top left of my paper gown for relaxation šŸ˜Š
All the staff came in and introduced themselves while in pre-op, from the surgeon herself, to the anesthesia team, to the OR scrub nurses, to the surgical resident that'd be observing (with my permission of course.) They also asked if they had permission to let the surgical resident practice a pelvic exam on me while under anesthesia, I agreed. I've been employed in healthcare myself for 17 years, so anything to help with someone's education! I could've refused if I wanted, but I really appreciated them asking beforehand.
They then wheeled me back to the OR, and I was feeling goooood with the Ativan lol They also pushed a lil GI cocktail too before they gave me the gas. I had to scoot myself from my original pre-op bed to the OR table, which was easy, they leveled the beds together and helped me. They then masked me with the gas, and I was outttt like a light after about 4-5 deeeeep inhales!!!
I woke up in post-op an hour and a half later. Went in at 12 noon, woke up at 1:30pm, all done! They intubated me after falling asleep, and pulled it out before waking up, it's like nothing ever happened! No soreness, hoarseness or coughing. I'm clearing my throat occasionally here and there 7 hours later, just kinda feels like when you get "bubbles" (post-nadal drip basically lol) in your throat with seasonal allergies. Not often enough to cause soreness which is great, waaaay better then what I anticipated after reading about other people's experiences on here. They cathed me too since they gave me fluids, thankfully after I was out, and removed it before I woke up, so it hurts to pee just a little bit, not even as bad a UTI šŸ¤£ Like, a 4 on a scale of 1-10.
They gave me ice chips & apple juice straight upon awakening too, which was great! I had no nausea at all, still don't hours later. I rested for about 30 mins, then they brought back my ride to hang out with me and go over discharge instructions. I got up to go pee, and then they wheeled me outside to the car, and even opened the door & helped me get in!! They have $5 valet services for 0-3 hours parking, so the car was pulled right up to the curb right outside the front doors!
We drove straight to IHOP afterwards. I took it easy with some Belgian waffles & a few strips of bacon, and a mango iced tea, and a few sips of my ride's cinnamon milkshake lol I then stopped by Walgreens to grab a few house things I forgot to pick up last night, my ride helped & carried everything šŸ˜Š
The ride home was smooth, I didn't have any discomfort from the shitty ass bumpy roads on our 30 min drive home lol I did bring a squishmallow to put between my belly and the seat belt, which was a genius idea I picked up on here!
BTW, I'm an occasional recreational cannabis user. I was honest and disclosed my use to my anesthesiologist only (VERY IMPORTANT), I didn't want that ICD-10 diagnosis use code going to Tricare from my consult appt ahead of surgery & prior authorization for obvious reasons lol. I quit edibles 2 months ago, and vaping 1 month ago. My anesthesiologist said I would've been fine discontinuing use just 5-7 days prior to surgery (no ibuprofen 7 days before either lol), but I did a month + to be safe, I'm a bit on the heavier side, and I've heard edibles stick around in your system (fat lol) much longer than just smoking/vaping, so I wanted to be super certain that I'd be clear and not fuck up anesthesia for myself. For reference, I'm 5'6", 180lbs. I took 3-4 puffs of a vape 4-5 days a week, and 10mg worth of edibles once almost every weekend for a few months straight, so not a super heavy user.
I hope my experience can help others make the decision to take the plunge too before election day lol I called to set up the consult appt back in December, had the actual consult appt in February, and first available surgery was today, late May.
I am a generally super anxious person by nature, and had my bestie/coworker take me to my very first surgery. My family is 3k miles away on the east Coast and couldn't be here, so if my anxious ass can do it, literally anybody can do it! I literally have nobody out here but my bestie, no family, no nothing. My soon to be ex husband is on deployment right now out in the Pacific, and is unreachable at the moment, and frankly doesn't give a shit. He knows I had surgery today too, and I KNOW he won't call or email out of common human decency to at least ask how it went when he does get back in service/port. He asked for a divorce a week after my consult appt, which happened to be 2 weeks before deployment, how convenient, after saying straight to my face before & after the appt that he totally supported my choice, and was looking forward to the DINK lifestyle with me. Oh well.
Y'all are šŸ’Æ when you say men aren't ~truly~ childfree unless they've had a vasectomy, or atleast got one scheduled on the books soon lol My conservative family back on the east coast are losing their shit over this, they're all christofacist trump bootlickers, I'm so glad I got to move away from all that and experience personal freedom/a different & better way of life out here. I'm so thankful to be in a position financially & geographically to have been able to take care of this. My GYN back home wouldn't even put an IUD in me at 29yrs old cause I never had kid before, so my cervix wasn't soft enough šŸ™„ Whatever bitch, I left and got spayed in Cali at 34 with no pushback from my Drs out here, kiss my grits lol
Thanks for coming to my hippie TED talk, hope this helps others! ā™„ļø

2024.05.29 05:43 mediocre_mutt_ Would appreciate some feedback on the psuedo-script for the intro of a game im writing! Let me know what you think of the tone, I'd really appreciate it!

It all went wrong in an instant. The cabin begins to glow red and scream at you in various analog tongues. Beeping, whirring, and hissing. They fill up your train of thought as the adrenaline fills your hands and arms with blood. You feel like you could tear out the center console with ease, but instead you give a deathgrip to your center-stick.
Your logical side tells you that this is a death-sentence and begins to scream at you.
ā€œEjectā€.
ā€œEject!ā€
ā€œEJECT EJECT EJECT EJECT EJECTā€
The screams subside as the thumping in your cranium drowns them out. Your voice of reason tore its vocal cords. Itā€™s only your training and instincts now.
You canā€™t eject. You wonā€™t eject. You will save your jet, or be incinerated with it.
You start frantically flipping different switches hoping one of them can diagnose your issue. You radio over to another jet.
ā€œThis is Delta I repeat this is Delta. Jet experiencing critical error. I need he-ā€œ
Static. They got your comms too. You mash the side panel to bits in a spurt of rage. You curse to yourself, the adrenaline started talking. It doesnā€™t matter how rude you are, thereā€™s no one to be rude to but the damned error voice module. She keeps talking to you, repeating the same danger and procedure.
The same red light illuminating your future coffin. Itā€™s dimmer now, especially now that youā€™ve fried one of its circuits. The combination of the dimness, monotonous voice, and intensifying heat remind you of before you were born. Of course you donā€™t actually remember this time, but some instinctual part does.
The oxygen begins to run thin. Your head begins to spin as your agitated heart continues to pump in overdrive. You begin to lose consciousness, but you grit your teeth and fight this off. Youā€™re too stubborn to pass out, too much of a nuisance to die. Your last moments are terrifying as you continue to hurl towards the ground. The cabin begins to shake violently, but you donā€™t feel it. Your mind wonā€™t let you.
ā€œI won't dieā€, you begin to repeat to yourself.
The words become jumbled together and slurred to the point where they integrate with your breathing. Itā€™s your breathing and the errors.
As the altitude becomes critical the errors change. You put all of your faith into your armor and luck. Your head kicks back in your seat as far as it comes to brace for the impact. You give one last final prayer and let the errors fill the cabin.
Altitude critical. Pull up.
Altitude critical. Pull up.
Oxygen critical. Deploy mask.
Altitude critical. Pull up.
Oxygen critical. Deploy mask.
Heat critical. Activate coolant.
Heat critical. Activate coolant.
Altitude critical. Pull up.
Crash Imminent.
Crash Imminent.
Impact.
The once sturdy cockpit precipitates on your head as shards of glass. Every dial and node on the control panel folded in on itself all with a maxed out reading. Your hands tremor in a fixed clasped position. Whatever you were holding onto mustā€™ve been very important. You can feel every heartbeat like a concussive in your temple. Your breathing feels thin and fleeting; whatever air youā€™re getting is simply not enough. Your neck gives way, and you collapse forward onto the control panel. You pass out.
Hours pass.
You come to. Bewildered that you survived your breathing goes from frequent and thin to slow and heavy. Your body needs repairs, and fast. You reach for your knife and sever your harnesses. Your abdomen free, you reach for the radio at your feet.
It hums with no signal. You mess with the antenna and dial, praying for a signal. You are only meant with the hisses of broken signals. You are alone.
You heave yourself out of the rubble with great exertion. It was a risky move, it nearly killed you. Exhausted, you stumble through a desolate desert of ice and snow. Completely devoid of form, itā€™s an infinite white expanse. Without any options you equip your visor and begin a scan.
Result = [NULL]
Result = [NULL]
Result = [NULL]
Result = [MATCH]
Heat Detected.
Life Classification: Unidentified
You see a faint outline of a rectangle highlighted on the scan. With no other scan, you begin your trek towards it. Walking takes your mind off of the crash.
Your mind can finally exit its adrenal state.
The questions begin.
ā€œWhere the hell am I?ā€
ā€œWhat did they hit me with?ā€
ā€œWhy am I alive?ā€
After an hour of limping you come across a small abode, a middle ground between a shack and an outhouse. Its patchy carpentry sticks out like a sore thumb in the vast whiteness, the festering mold on the walls turn your crash site into a stellar two-tone piece. The door made of some wisened material is about as strong as driftwood. However even with such a weak material, you are weaker and you struggle to make it inside. Knock after knock the door begins to give and bulge, more and more splinters flying everywhere. Your heavy breathing becomes panting and coughing, the thick air filled with dust, mold, and dried petrol. Finally your shoulder overcomes the door and you fall through the hole in the door onto the floor of the hut. Your coughing fit escalates into near-choking. Your heart begins to pound through your ribs, your stomach begins to tumble within your abdomen. All of your insides are writhing and screaming.
YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE

2024.05.29 05:39 Kreativecolors Learning to ride a horse is great ADHD brain exercise

I have been riding for 3 years, started just before I turned 40. You are never too old, I have barn friends who started in their 60s.
Horses are prey animals and are terrified of deer, their own shadow, a foggy evening with a soft breezeā€¦you get the picture. (The horses at my barn DGAF about sideshows and spinning donuts though, heaven help usif a bird lands in the arena šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø).
Here is why riding a horse is a huge beneficial ADHD exercise:
Emotional regulation- they can read your energy from across that barn. If you are on edge, they are edge. If you think you are chill, but in reality you are stressed, your horse will know. If you are actually chill, your horse will know. A nervous horse is a dangerous horse. A chill horse is a safe horse.
Finding my chill when my life outside the barn is a shit show took me 2 years to make headway personally. I found this out when the nervous horse was no longer nervous with me, and have just continued to practice managing the emotions around this particularly nervous horse and he keeps remaining calm!
Calm app, good night of sleep, decent breakfast, one cup of coffee max on days I ride, unless Iā€™m stressed already, I skip), meds, yoga, massage, reiki, meditation, crochet, gardening, painting, therapy, deep ass breathing on drive to barn- bottom line is learning to ride has forced me to show up emotionally for myself. Oh yea, and sobriety- 4 years now of feeling my damn feelings, ugh/woot woot!(started riding a year into sobriety).
Iā€™m 3 years in and I think about my emotional state every day that I ride (need to use this more in daily life, hello parenting!!)
Riding: you have a brain, emotions, good/bad day, sore back
Your horse has a brain, emotions, good/bad day, sore back
As in you both have your own shit and ya gotta communicate by centering yourself, balance, leg placement, soft tension on the reigns/bit, follow through, being in control, etc etc
You have an amazing ride one week and a shit ride on same horse the next week.
Executive function: you steer the horse with one leg and opposite hand while keeping connection with other leg and hand, keeping yourself balanced, gently going up and down instead of slamming down, you keep the horses pace up by squeezing legs on down beat while posting, keeping your heels down and toes up (so unnatural!!!) back flat, abs engaged, there is a crop in your hand, then your other hand depending on your direction, you gently, other riders in are in the area, and a ton of shit I canā€™t think of at moment or havenā€™t yet learnedā€¦.. ITS A LOT MENTALLY
Oh yea, and the sequencing practice- my understanding is that everyone, and I mean everyone, picks hooves, Curries, tacks up and removes tack in the same order starting from the same side- like at least the western world(correct me if Iā€™m wrong, I also ride English so could be different for western). You also need to be mindful of ropes/leads, which rings you clip on, hazards closing arena gates, entering arena when clear, putting things back every single time. As in thinking before acting, for every action you take around a horse (prey animals with tiny brains, like acorn or fig size?)
Honestly I could go on and on, but this is enough word vomit and 3 years in I am absolutely a beginner, well, an advanced beginner.
One day, when my kids need me less Iā€™ll lease a horse. Maybe own one when they fly the coop. For now, Iā€™ll take lessons 1-2x a week and keep following through for myself.
Oh yea, and I am terrified every morning I know I am riding because it is dangerous. But I get my shit together mentally, find my zen, and get to the barn.
Highly recommend.

2024.05.29 05:38 qakcer normal scabbing?

normal scabbing?
for reference, this is my 8th tattoo so i am familiar with the healing process. however, this is probably my darkest and most complex piece so far. i got this done saturday, so about four days ago. it's still very tender and sore, and sometimes very red and irritated. my skin feels very tight when i stretch my arm out. i've never had this happen past day two. is this normal?

2024.05.29 05:36 tennisracket12 Is Transtape supposed to feel 'sore' or is this normal

Hi, I've been using transtape for quite a bit now, and something I've noticed is that it makes my chest feel a bit 'sore'? It's not really pain, just some discomfort. But, if i touch my chest with any amount of force, it kinda hurts, as does laying on my side. Sometimes I can feel an idle discomfort too, (could be just from focusing on it, though). Is this normal, or does it indicate some form of damage to my body?
If more info is needed, I'm about a B cup and I tape with two 3in strips (bottom piece goes below my chest a tad) on each side going down a bit diagonally, the tape is a good 1 to 1 1/2 in from my sternum.
P.S. Has anybody here had skin stretching from taping, or is it rarer than it seems? Thanks!

2024.05.29 05:34 lothsulothmo (22 AFAB) aching pains in legs?

I have had terribly aching legs since I was a child which have only recently gotten more frequent and intense. They don't feel like pulled muscles, cramps, or soreness from exercise, but aches that have been attributed to "growing pains" back when I was a child. They don't flare up with any sort of exercise or overuse, and it's typically in the evenings and into the night about once or twice a week. Could it be a chronic pain condition? What could have caused it? Is it muscular or skeletal? Help!
