Hi everyone. I recently managed to buy Minecraft thanks to the current sale for it's 15° anniversary, and i see there's a promo on twitch to get a few cosmetics. I managed to get the capes from both twitch and tiktok, but i see there is one more for twitch, the glitch mask.
To get the mask, you need to buy a subscription to a channel streaming the minecraft category, but i already spent a lot buying the game itself to do that. I'd apretiate a lot the chance to get this, since i don't think it'll be available again afterwards.

Hi all, i will try to describe how i feel as best as i can, but to be honest, i dont really know what it is. This may be a little long because i have to add context to describe a few things. I was diagnosed with BPD, PTDS, Anxiety and OCD about 5 years ago
I am 38F, my partner of 9 years is 34M. The relationship is rather rocky at times, but for the most part we work through it. Ive had some CBT to help control my emotional reactions, which worked really well, but i think y partner also needs the same thing, as when he gets mad, he doesnt just talk things through, he has a very nasty tongue. I wont go into some of the things hes said because they would immediately create a profile for him and i wont get non-biased opinions in here because everyone is likely to just hate him. I also used to have a nasty tongue but my CBT gave me the means to have a lot of self control, so i havent been like that for years.
Thing is, my partner and I live together, but we barely do anything. last thing we did was visit a waterpark for his birthday, thats all we've done in 2024. small things like a 2 hour comedy show then straight home to bed (and no time spent together before that either) happen sometimes, or we sit at home watching a tv series or playing a videogame, but that isnt often either.
Now heres my issue with my feelings, all the above in mind, we had a bad fight 10 days ago and he said some really hurtful things, also refused to apologise because it was my fault for 'winding him up' (i was correcting where he told me things i did during the day, that he didnt even see, but obv i did because its me) by being argumentative. So my feelings shut off completely, i was numb to him emotionally, both happy and sad. he has since apologised and promised to get therapy, but hasnt done any of it yet. Im still rather withdrawn, but open enough to sleep with him last night, however kissing him felt rather forced. Today he is out with his friends like he does once a week and i HATE it. He's gone for a full 12 hours every time he goes, its a 1 hour drive there and 1 hour back, so i guess a long day makes the driving and petrol cost worth it. but i just hate that hes going there and whats worse, it sounds real fun because theres BBQ on. I feel really negative about this whole thing but i dont know what it is. i dont want to stop him having fun, but i dont want him to go either. at the same time, after what keeps happening (the arguments are about 1 every 6 weeks and they hurt my heart like hell!) i dont even want him to spend time with me. if he asked me now id say yes just to be polite but tbh i dont know what i even want. the last few times we had bigger plans than watching stuff on tv, we argued so he cancelled. i had to host a family bbq 9 days ago which we were both excited about but we fought so i had to do alone, he decided last minute before everyone arrived, to come and help me but only because i practically begged. He drives and i dont, so also during this fight he dropped me off to collect my son from school then drove off and left me there (its an hour walk, or 2 seperate buses). (i told my son i got the bus because the car was broke, we are good at keeping civil when my son is around, i cant exactly fault partner for that)
But yeah, what the hell is this feeling i have? i resent partner for all this bad crap, esp recently because a lot happened over 10 days, but over the years ive been promised change and hes finally saying he will accept therapy (though hasnt even got on the list yet). Im jealous (i think) that hes out doing all this cool stuff with his friends, but i dont want him here doing things with me anyway. (there are times we've had fights because i was sick and asked him to stay instead of going to friends and he screamed at me, then went anyway, after id just spent 2 days taking care of him). am i wrong for feeling this way? i dont want to be accused of bringing up the past (the sick thing was back in feb) but i think all these things are painting a really bad picture of him in my head and i dont know what to do. leaving him isnt really an option right now as i need his half of the rent and bills in order to be able to afford to live here, plus, i actually dont want him gone....for some reason.

But when I look at the map with all the Spanish regions (second pic) it says #1 is Andalusia and #3 Castile and Leon instead. Which is the correct way to interpret it? I was inspired after reading another user's experience creating his own world, so I decided to give it a shot. I wanted to create a sort of interactive choose-your-own-adventure cyberpunk story set in 2124 Los Angeles. I prompted ChatGPT to essentially create a story and world that revolves around common themes within a typical CyberPunk setting such as rampant crime, corrupt cops and politicians, massive drug usage, mega-corporations out of control, poverty, and technology blurring the lines between humanity.
One of my favorite video games lately of all time is CyberPunk 2077, so I just wanted to create something similar that I could experience and live through in a different interactive way while also testing out ChatGPT out of boredom. Here are some of the results from the simulation.
I'll denote "USER INPUT" as anything I wrote or input, and "CHAT GPT" anytime it outputs anything.
Rules: I will use minimal intervention / altering and mainly allow the program to pretty much lead me through the story barring any world-breaking narratives or plots:

Zoe: (reading aloud) "High-risk, high-reward job, requiring a skilled netrunner. Substantial payout. Meet at The Hub tonight. Perfect."
Her thoughts are interrupted by a knock at the door. She frowns, not expecting visitors this early. Cautiously, she approaches and peers through the peephole. Recognizing the familiar figure on the other side, she relaxes and opens the door.
Lucas: (with a grin) "Morning, sunshine. You look like hell."
Zoe: (rolling her eyes) "Thanks, Lucas. You’re a real charmer. Come in."
Lucas steps inside, looking as rugged as ever with his scruff and tattoos. He drops a bag on the table and takes a seat.
Lucas: "I brought breakfast. Figured you’d need it after last night."
Zoe: "You’re a lifesaver. So, what’s up?"
Lucas: "Got a tip about a job. Sounds like it could be worth our while. But first, you need to get your head straight. Eat up and let’s talk."
They share a quick meal, discussing the potential job and catching up on recent events in the underground.

That's all i have so far but this was a super cool way to pass some time on a Sunday. I am considering starting a parallel story similar to this but a horror-survival one, similar to something like the original Silent Hill etc.

2024.05.19 19:57 ananymousmamma Hog won’t eat.

I’m so sad I even have to make this post but here we go. I recently got a new hog after my last hognose died due to not eating and other complications. It’s been over a year and I decided to finally get back into hognose snakes after loosing my last one. A small backstory is I bought my last snake as a baby from a un-reputable breeder that didn’t establish her eating, and unbeknownst to me, had contracted a parasite. It was awful the amount of vet visits and force feedings she had to go through it broke my heart she finally passed after I did absolutely everything in my power to keep her alive. Fast forward a little over a year later I decided it was time to try again but this time more research and a better breeder! I found one I loved and purchased her. I made her enclosure damn near perfect and she was eating fine for the first few months! The breeder told me she never had a problem with food so I was happy! Now we are 3 months into her decided randomly not to eat. I have barely handled her during this time only to weigh her and I only offer her food once a week during the day. The only thing I have changed is her substrate which is now the Eco dudes Sahara bio substrate and she was originally in just aspen bedding. I have the hot side at 85 with a 40 watt basking UVA/UVB bulb then I have a heat mat connected to a thermostat under her tank that maxes out at 95 degrees on her warm side. On cool side it sits between 65-75 with 35-50% humidity and warm side is usually between 35-40% humidity she has clutter and heat gradient. Also has a humid hide just for fun. Has a water dish I fill with fresh water daily. I also have 2 inches of substrate covering the whole tank and all 3 sides of the tank are covered as well! She is out everyday and drinks water. Digs a lot and seems happy! She’s eating FT fuzzies when she does eat.
I’m trying to keep my cool but every time she doesn’t eat it makes me cry cause I just don’t understand what I’m doing wrong with these snakes. I don’t want her to die like my last one. I know these snakes go through hunger strikes but her breeder told me in the year he had her she was consistently eating so I feel like I’m doing something wrong. I’ll post pics so you all can see. Attention -> This guide is highly opinionated, if you're looking for a post from a perspective from a highly experienced dev then you should probably stop reading and check out other posts. I've been working full-time for over 2 years only but I've been a part of startups in different capacities for the past 4 years, either as an intern or a contractofreelancer. Resources might be outdated but still check them out and decide accordingly, but in my opinion you should read my post since, I fall under these buckets ->
  1. NON CS and Tier 2/3/4.. College -> I had 50k+ rank in JEE and was only able to land Civil in a Tier 3 college due to home state quota, later got a circuit branch from branch upgrade.
  2. Off Campus Placement -> I had already started freelancing since culture at a company is a very very crucial to me and I loved the freelancing lifestyle this I skipped on campus placements altogether. Also due to freelancing I was making more than what all the companies who were part of our placement drive were offering.
  3. Got placed primarily due to my past experience and projects as opposed to my CP ranking -> I asked my HR why was I hired and she mentioned that it was my past experience + projects which caught their attention, of course I went through their standard selection rounds but they still preferred my profile over Tier 1 students with good coding platform ranks due to my past work experience.
  4. Consistent earning -> While someone can dismiss my current job as a fluke I've a history of making good money($20K in 6 months from scratch) through freelancing with multiple clients and was able to translate that experience into a job at a startup as well. My PPO comp was 40 base and a very sizeable portion of equity of a very fast growing startup. If we were to do the cringy CTC calculation it was a 1 CR+ job offer.

What makes someone hire a candidate?

I've interviewed over 40+ people and 4 batches of interns. Working at a startup has allowed me to be very close with recruiting process and work with recruiter with over 10+ years in premier MNCs and startups and there's a lot that goes into hiring but I think it can be put into some buckets.
Hiring for interns/freshers -> We personally don't hire for freshers roles and instead all junior devs go through our intern process but this is where the most non traditional profiles can break in tech early. I've noticed that for senior roles a lot of emphasis is given to the the companies they've worked in and which team were they a part of. Working folks might be aware that for senior roles usually the hiring manager personally have a chat before adding the candidate in interview pipeline and based on our debriefs I've noticed that institute rarely comes up but rather their work at the teams that they've been a part of takes the highest priority. Now a argument can be made that being from a Tier 1 institute allows the ability to get a headstart but a lot of folks are able to breakthrough into big tech even after working at WITCH so entering into high paying startups isn't that big of deal for them as tech profiles converge the more experienced one get. For interns and freshers a solid development and a mix of coding platforms experience should get you a job in startups with a very high probability.
To put more emphasis in why profiles matters let's take a look at a couple of profiles that I'm personally aware of ->
My friend working at a High Growth Seed Round
Highlights of his profile ->
  1. Very very low ranking Engineering College.
  2. No prior intern at a big company instead mixture of work at small startups and his own ventures.
  3. Didn't apply for a job at all since he was also happy as a freelancer but finally decided to work at a startup and got a job in flat 16 days.
  4. Comp-> 16 lpa base + seed round equity.
The best part about this friend why how deep his profile was. He has always been passionate about computers since school time and had experience in cyber security, crypto, fullstack-development,etc. As you can guess the secret of how quickly he was able to get a job was how many past experiences he had. When he started finding jobs at wellfound.com he was able to get calls from a couple of startups and he had a offer within 20 days. Wellfound was a a suprisingly good place to find jobs at small startups since my friend was able to receive a lot of calls for interview rounds.
My batchmate working at a FAANG equivalent MNC ->
  1. Same college as mine.
  2. Prior intern at a MNC but overall mid projects and a couple of development profiles and hackathons under his belt.
  3. Average codeforces profile but experience of solving a lot of questions hence able to breeze through leetcode rounds.
  4. Got a on campus placement here so didn't apply anywhere.
  5. Comp -> 20l base + ~60l in equity.
His profile is a mix of development and a lot of coding rounds but the curious case in his case was how a lot of candidates with similar profiles in coding platforms or even better were knocked out from the selection process in the system design round. His previous experience in development surely helped him here in comprehending system design case studies and hence he was able to ace this round whereas others with better coding profiles weren't able to do so.
My batchmate working at FAANG and now a high growth startup ->
  1. Same college.
  2. Prior intern at startups and deep experience in development since school which includes projects in full stack development, compilers and couple of hackathons.
  3. Better than average codeforces profile and breezes through standard OA rounds due to lots of practise.
  4. Comp -> 50+ CTC at FAANG earlier and 25l base at a startup now.
His profile is similar to the first profile but way more competitive coding experience as well. Similar deep experience in projects and very passionate about software engineering and computer science in general.
A common pattern amongst the profiles posted above and mine is development experience allowed us from low tier colleges to be able to get a job quickly. This matters a lot since you'll get calls for interview rounds doesn't matter how tough the market is though what will fluctuate is how much are these companies are offering.

All of your eggs in one basket

It's pretty easy to see how big the market for DSA and Algorithm is. Youtubers are popping left right and center, but is it worth investing all of your time in getting a great rating in Codeforces. First thing first let's make this very clear that standard interview questions are very different than competitive questions and while it is true that due to market saturation some companies have resorted to asking questions that you would see as part of codeforces rounds in their OA. This though isn't the norm and you can do fine if you're good enough for Leetcode rounds. My whole post can be described that we need to stand out from other profiles if we fall into buckets of Low ranking colleges , Non CSE branches, etc.

Resources

The following section is a collection of resources that I and my friends used during the placement process ->
  1. Roadmaps -> Roadmaps, Roadmaps, Roadmaps. Youtube is filled with didi bhaiya trying to come up with the best roadmap that they can. Honestly speaking while there's nothing wrong with that I always prefer roadmaps which are open source and updated time to time by community or the author to stay relevant. Go to roadmap.sh and pick paths. Focus more on topics rather than content, find whatever resource you can to read up on topics rather than sticking to one youtube channel. Similarly for people who might not be from a CS background the Open Source Society University is a very popular roadmap to follow.
  2. Resume -> I used the variations of the following template. Overleaf is a solid platform for creating resume in latex. Keep your resume simple and keep on iterating with what you should and shouldn't have. If you want you can always ask recruiters what they found nice in your resume and double down on expanding those sections.
  3. Freelancing Platforms -> Personally for me Upwork worked very well, I was able to get the chance of working on a lot of high paying jobs but based on what I've heard from candidates and personally managing profiles for a couple of friends the platform seems to have shifted in terms of job quality a lot. I'm noticing a lot of low quality jobs, underpaid jobs which has made it highly unlikely for new candidates to break through here. I would personally not recommend Freelancer and Fiverr since they have low quality, low paying jobs as compared to Upwork. Also fiverr follows a marketplace model so hard for non experienced folks to get discovered.
    1. If you're a experienced dev and have a solid profile and need a better platform as compared to Upwork checkout Toptal and A.team.
  4. Job Platforms -> I personally had a great experience with Cutshort since it apart from applying on jobs as a candidates also has a strong emphasis on recruiters reaching out to candidates. Apart from that I've had a good experience with LinkedIn jobs purely in terms of response times. Atleast recruiters reached out quickly even though the quality of jobs wasn't great. As mentioned above wellfound.com is also a good resource for finding startup jobs. Apart from this cold mailing recruiters should be a part of your job hunting cycle. We used to go over startups which were recently funded and then messaging their client or staff for queries regarding openings.
  5. Youtube channels -> I usually relied on the following channels during my prep and I what I usually watch as well.
    1. Traversy Media -> Followed his tutorials the most.
    2. Academind by Maximilian Schwarzmüller -> For learning full stack development I've mostly used his courses and honestly speaking they are amazing. I've also heard great things about her courses, Dr. Angela Yu.
    3. Tech News and General Tech Videos -> Fireship.io, Ben Awad, Devon Crawford, ForrestKnight. They Ben and Devon aren't posting these days but they are the reason why I found tech to be super cool.
    4. DSA and Algo Training -> Stick to no nonsense channels like TUF, Back To Back SWE, CS DOJO, Tushar Roy, NeetCode, Nick White, Priyansh Agarwal.
      1. Couple of websites which I liked a lot of practise includes USACO Guide, CP Algorithms, CSES.

Heya! Fairly new to the game and it's rules so please go easy on me. Essentially I enjoy meta-powers and stuff of that sort and wanted to try make something based around that, read up on the Meta-powers Power Profile and decided on this concept. Someone who can hear Powers as if they were songs and can imitate these songs in order to gain the powers, harmonise with their allies songs to boost them, sing discordant notes to disrupt the Power Songs, and potentially even change the melody of other people (aka control their power to an extent). Now, ignoring the fact that balancing this would be a nightmare, here's what I ended up coming up with.
POWER DETECTION - Senses 3 (Detect Powers, Ranged, Extended 1). * 3 pp
WARP CHORD array * 76pp
Song Mimicry - Variable 12 (72pp Pool to Mimic Powers Witnessed Via Power Detection), Limited To Powers Previously Witnessed Within Perception Range. * 72 pp
Song Harmonising - Variable 12 (Enhanced Power Ranks and Modifiers), Affects Only Others, Limited to Others. * 72pp
Song Conductor - Affliction 20 (DC30, Resisted and Overcome by Will; Controlled), Ranged Perception, Cumulative, Limited Degree (third only), Limited to Controlling Target's Powers. * 20pp
Song Discordant - Nullify 20, Broad, Simultaneous, Limited to Powers * 40pp
I hope that is even slightly accurate to how this system even works. The idea is to swap the variable points into the powers that they witness but only specific powers and not the broader descriptor (aka Superman has a lot of powers but if all I've seen is him Flying that's all I can mimic. I've seen the first verse but not the second).
I like the accumulation of power from learning more and more "songs" and potentially even the idea of "remixing" them later down the line (supermans flight song mixed with a fire breathing song or something) but god that'd be busted so mayhaps not.
Please god help me balance this and make sure it's actually even slightly legal for a game. There's an argument to be made for it obviously not working about technological "Powers" and being less effective against Batman style enemies but... ughh. Cool Idea VS Game Balance.

I recently painted the walls Benjamin Moore Navajo White. The opposing wall/kitchen area (fourth pic) is Black Forest Green also by BM.
I have floor length sheer linen-look curtains that match the walls almost exactly. I bought Rit Dye to maybe change their color and re-hang with gold curtain rods. But now I’m second guessing that since the couch and sideboard would impede their ability to hang freely. All three windows have the gray accordion shades installed but I’m in the process of actively undoing all the cool millennial gray vibes throughout the house so I’d prefer to keep those for functionality only when needed.
Do I keep the floor length and change the color? Find a shorter curtain? If so, patterned or solid and what color? I would very rarely close the curtains. They’d just serve to frame the windows better and add some texture/dimension to the space.

So here's the thing. I'm at the stage of my life where I want a partner to play this game of life we are all playing together. I'll try to keep this short, sweet and to the point.
I have a wide array of hobbies and interests, but my main love is gaming. I haven't been as much into lately as I'd like but I'm getting back into the grind. I'm looking for someone that loves gaming as much as I do and understands it's not just a hobby - it's a lifestyle. Love traveling and being outdoors? Let's visit 5 cities in each state and hit each of the national parks. We'll camp everywhere we can and hit all the things along the way. I also have plans to drive all of route 66 towards the end of 2025
Love DIYing? Awesome - let's buy a fixer-upper and create our own masterpiece exactly how we want it!
You love working on cars? Let's buy a project car and tear it down to the frame and chassis and rebuild it from the group up. Race it? Show it off at car shows? Possibilities are endless - We will probably need like a 10 car garage though for our toys
Love music? Awesome - concerts and festivals will be our jam! I have a few concerts planned this year and would love a companion on these trips! We can travel the US visiting all our favorite bands/artists
My point is there are lots of different things we can have in common and enjoy each other's company!
I don't really have any preferences as far as my potential partner - just mainly want someone close to me in age and distance (within a few hours) and someone that has their crap together. I'd prefer if you relocate to me temporarily then we can talk about the next steps after that.

36 SWM Slightly taller than average height but I'm fluffy - I am actively working on it and WILL be healthy before the birth of my first child (Also something we could have in common) I have my own house and my own vehicle I love all the animals (but have a cat) I work in the IT field and make decent money I don't put that must weight in the physical appearance of my partner so I don't really need pics right away, but you're welcome to send em if you want to.
