I’ve got a “mountain rifle” that needs an optic. It currently has 1” Talleys on it, I’d like to just find a scope and throw it on real quick.
Rifle is a Browning A-Bolt II Mountain Titanium in 300 WSM, I’d like the capability to shoot out to… 700? In ideal conditions, I ain’t gonna practice with a featherweight 300WSM all that much lol
Currently have a VX-3I 3.5-10 on Grandpa’s old heavy M77 in 300WM that I sent to the Leupold custom shop and they put in a mil reticle. I really just want another one of these, but the custom shop closed right after I got the scope back, and I’ve been told not to trust Leupold’s cheaper turrets, and I can use the subtensions to hold in the rare case I have a shot beyond 300.
I’d like to keep it under $1000 but price is flexible, 1” body, scope has to be light so it doesn’t make the rifle all top heavy, and either reliable turrets or a good reticle for holds. I briefly had an SHV on the 300 but even that heavy rifle was just ruined with a big scope. Would prefer good low-end mag range, max 3.5 low end, maaaaybe 4x. This is AK so would prefer to be able to deal with bears with lower mag.
Any experience with Swaro Z3s?

Everyone is sleeping on the Holger 556. It's literally an automatic sniper rifle. It shoots remarkably comfortable to about 50m, 80m if you're great at recoil control. This build slaps, I had my personal record with it and the Striker 9, barely using the striker mind you. 13 kill victory on fortunes keep, average I know, but still, this gun is incredible. Here's my build for German Precision.

I put a Sig Romeo5 red dot on it that I pulled from another AR, and put an SBA3 brace on it replacing the "blade" one it came with. Beyond that it is bone stock.
3 shots is all it took to zero at 25 yards on B-E-A-Utiful day here in SE WI. I literally only had to adjust elevation about 6 clicks down. The dot being on in the lead sled I went off hand. 20+ rounds out of a stick mag I put them all in a group I could easily cover by my hand. I'm no great shot by any means, and with my eyesight at 25 yards seeing the target alone is a stretch.
It is GASSY! After 10 rounds I had the powder sniffles, after the full mag I had to take a break and let my buddy burn down another stick mag. Recoil is in my opinion mid level for and AR style rifle. I have a piston 11.5" .556 pistol with adjustable gas that is like shooting .22. I also sighted in a .300 blackout pistol today and the Armalite is somewhere between them.
Getting back on target is easy enough, but for me personally I have a left hand injury witch makes stability an issue. The .300 I spoke of has a forward grip assist device, but it's recoil was much more severe. I'd say I was more accurate and quicker with the Armalite.
Overall impressions I'd buy it again if I didn't have one already. That gas blow-back, I don't know if anything can be done. I love it as a PDW for short duration's. Anything after 33 rounds would need escalation to something bigger IMHO.

I'm building a retro clone-ish CAR-15/723.
H&R 723, with an aimpoint 9000sc, surefire 6p set up and a redi mag. This is currently will be my only AR for a while, if I build it.
I went through financial hardship for a while, and sold both Mt AR-15s to my best friend. I now have a very good job, and make great money and I'm no longer worried about any financial problems. Regardless of my extra income, I am putting allot into saving, paying for my families very first cruise, buying a second car as well as saving for a down-payment on a house and land. Because of this, I have decided to buy/build 1 AR untill I get our second veichle, pay off our cruise, and put a down payment on a house. All this should only take about 2 years total. Cruise should be paid off in 3 months, second car by the end of the year and house within 2. So for 2 years I want a good do all AR-15.
My qeastion is if you could have 1 AR, and needed a good do all AR, could it be done with a retro build. Could these really be good functional tools instead of just range toys? H&R quility and reliable enough for a serious role? (I will be upgrading the BCG to a BCM or Knights if I decide on this rifle) or would you guys go with a modern AR-15 for legitimate uses and retro builds are range toys only? Thanks in advance!

 | Having to constantly adjust troop deployments and foundry placements along with carefully placing my land mines and special buildings like the detector tower was always a fine challenge, but it was made significantly more difficult by these new weapons and armors divers got seemingly out of nowhere submitted by GhostCrackets to Helldivers [link] [comments] It’s nice to see the enemies get more stuff and equipment to offer a more diverse experience, but when those guns are so broken that a primary can almost one-shot a Hulk, those balance changes are surely necessary, and it even seems to even disrupt the Enemies, Helldivers have stopped using eruptor for some reason after they removed shrapnel, even though it’s just as strong against my Devastator units, but they seem to have gaslit themselves into thinking it’s bad now so more Devastators for me However we have talk about the still overpowered and unchanged weapons, CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE DAMN AMR???? Destroys Scout Striders in 2-3 shots AT THE FRONT, 2 SHOTS ALL HULKS AT THE EYE, ONES-SHOTS BASIC UNITS, CAN HEADSHOT HEAVY DEVASTATORS EFFORTLESSLY, CAN DESTROY TANKS FROM THE BACK IN A FEW QUICK SHOTS, THE THING CAN BE USED AT CLOSE RANGE AS WELL SO FORGET SENDING BERSERKERS!!! Sure it’s kind of annoying but it’s Ring dependent and they might mess up, and there’s no guarantee they’ll kill all the units so that’s fine I guess, and for the other rocket launchers they have to at least aim properly with them, and taking down a dropship doesn’t guarantee all the units will die. BUT THE AIRBURST??? Ooooohhhh no, it can effortlessly kill all your units in the dropship before they land, and requires NO SKILL, just aim in a dropships general direction and BOOM, that carefully planned devastator + heavy devastator + berserker squad your meticulously crafter to counter the divers is just gone before they even hit the floor, it doesn’t destroy drop shit but I might as damn well at this rate, I’m so damn thankful most divers don’t bring this thing or else my circuits would fry from the fabricated anger over stressing my wires heat levels above their recommended safety limit |

This is such a minor gripe but as any Good Canuck I usually rep the C7 when I'm playing. However - even though the Canadian STANAG mag was added a year before the rifles - the tab in the item spawner for the C7s has the boring universal STANAG
I would assume this is an oversight but if it's a quick fix it would save me searching through the Mags every time I spawn in

2024.05.18 20:49 TimberAndTrails Thoughts on 9mm folding rifles
So I have yet to purchase my first firearm, but I am considering pulling the trigger on a 9mm folding rifle in the near future. I may end up buying a handgun first, since concealing a pistol on one's person is easy enough, but I like the idea of my primary being able to fold away into a backpack to fit with the whole gray man theory in the event of a bugout-type scenario. Running through the streets with a rifle in your hands seems like a great way to make yourself a target in any situation. Only reason I haven't made the purchase yet is I'm moving across the country to Colorado this summer and, on top of saving for moving costs, I'd like to avoid the headache of traveling through multiple states with firearms in tow. I've always been of the mindset that one should prepare for the worst, but hope for the best, and with the majority of firearms being in the hands of the right, I'd just feel a bit more peace of mind in knowing that the playing field is a bit more leveled.
The two rifles that have particularly caight my eye are the M&P FPC and the Keltec Sub2000. My rationale behind 9mm is the ability to carry more rounds for the same/less weight of larger bullets along with the sheer availability of 9mm. The FPC has slots for 2 spare mags in the stock, which is appealing, though the Sub2000 accepts Glock mags, which would make for a modern day cowboy kit if I went for a G17 as a secondary. I am no stranger to shooting and have been going to the range for as long as I can remember, but have not yet shot either of these rifles. I was wondering if anybody who owns/has shot either rifle had any strong opinions one way or the other?

Rifle is an 11.5" suppressed tuned with a Superlative gas block shooting PMC Bronze. Larue MBT-2S trigger (which may be relevant).
Yesterday at the range, I fired the first shot of the day, then had a dead trigger on the second shot. I tap-racked a new round in and STILL had a dead trigger, which was baffling. I pulled the mag out, racked it a few times, put the same mag back in and it worked for the rest of the day with no issues.
Is it possible there was some kind of grit in the trigger mechanism that was preventing it from engaging the sear and resetting? In my shoes, what would you do?
