Hello,
I suffer from very severe OCD and my psychiatrist can't answer this particular question.
My most disabling OCD subtype is perfectionism.
I'm a student waiting for my exam results, and I'm going to have long months with no particular obligations.
I would also like to point out that I also suffer from a very high level of social anxiety, which was exacerbated by my previous job (a very dangerous one where my safety was not guaranteed and where my colleagues were for the most part obnoxious to me. The workplace was notorious for being atrocious and dangerous to workers' lives). The job detail is important because I'd like to work but I feel like throwing up and crying just thinking about it, even if it's a small job with no connection to my old profession.
My question is this: How do I know what to do in a day?
I'm very depressed, so I have to force myself to do things, so I don't spend my day in bed. But I don't know how. Since I like absolutely NOTHING, all my little activities at home, like watching a series, are an effort for me.
And I don't know what to do: should I write? should I force myself to exercise? Should I draw? Should I learn to code? Should I read? Should I read?
If I don't force myself to do this, I don't do anything, but the way I want to do these things is very clearly a compulsion ( because everything is rigid in the process of executing simple actions) .
I don't know how to organize myself without it turning into total OCD.
How do people know how/when to exercise? When does forcing yourself feel like a compulsion or a real need to overcome depression? How do you know how/when to go out? Why choose one activity over another?
I feel like a prisoner getting out after 20 years who doesn't know how to live with her free will. I don't know what to do when I don't listen to my compulsions.

TLDR : How can I choose what to do by myself, like a normal person, without listening to my obsessions and compulsions, when I MUST force myself to do a minimum of things so that I don't lie motionless in bed all day?

As a solo dev, I have a commercial game on Steam that hasn't even made back 10% of my investment. Despite being a financial failure, I'm quite proud of the quality and depth of the game. Its genre is a bit hard to describe, so let's go with "an innovative roguelike/RPG where conflicts are resolved through various, procedurally generated word puzzles".
Since the first version, I have published three free content updates (and hotfixes) and responded to all support questions, either by email or on the Steam forum. However, I cannot afford to spend more effort on this game, and I've moved on to other projects.
Today, a fan asked on the Steam forum if they can expect new stories and game events. I'm not sure how to express that, due to the poor sales, I am unable to provide support beyond bug fixes. I'd rather not ignore the question because it would make the game look completely abandoned.

Hello! I know a few hours is nowhere near long enough (I've been to Paris before) and I also know it is still worth it for me and my family to do so. It's four of us with two adult and two teens who are all on board with a day trip on the Eurostar from London so here is my idea. I would love your thoughts and reactions to my loose plan!
Arrive at Gare du Nord at 11:21
Get to the area around Notre Dame and explore the island. Yummy and Guiltfree for a snack if needed (two of us are gluten free/celiac disease) Visit Shakespeare and Co.
Walk along the river and cross over to the Louvre for some exploring and photos (Tuesday - museum is closed). Explore Jardin des Tuileries.
Do we have time to dip into Musee d'Orsay? Again, we could spend all day but could we see a few highlights in our timeframe?
Noglu for food if we need it.
Keep walking along towards Eiffel Tower and explore that area/take photos.
We need to be back at Gare du Nord by about 18:15 or 18:30. So it's about 7 hours total in Paris if trains are on time.
My questions are: are there shops all along the way here to shop and explore? Is there a certain street we should make sure to visit for independent shops with souvenirs/stationery/other fun items?
Anything else along the way we should see?
Do I have enough here to fill the 7 hours or should I add something else in?
Should we Uber to and from the train station to save time?

My cousin( @EffectiveBeach3856) and I lived near each other when we were kids. So we became real close. However as time goes on life happens and we went our own ways. She got a job working with her mom and I joined the military. After many years I took a good bit of leave time to go back home. At this point in life we were both in our early 20's. Well I saw my cousin again for the first time in years and I couldn't believe how beautiful she was. When we were younger I thought she was beautiful before but now I couldn't believe my eyes. She is about 5.7"slim nice bouncy ass wonderful soft porcelain skin perky tits and to top it off she is a fiery redhead with the personality to match. As kids we were always real close. You could say flirtatious and a lil touchy feely. Nothing sexual but there was a lot of sexual tension for sure. Well as soon as I saw her all those feelings came flooding back. We reconnected and started talking again. My leave was ending however I got my cousins number and we were back to our old ways but now that we were older the flirting was more grand and the jokes were much dirtier. One day coming home from work I was talking to her on the phone and idk where I go the courage or the audacity but I made a joke that changed our relationship in to what it is now. Then she said in a very timid and scared voice that she would actually really like that and that she has been wanting me for awhile but didn't know how I felt. Then she asked me if I felt that way about her or not. I was so surprised I had to pull over and gather myself. My head and heart were racing. In my head I was like can this be real, would she really be willing to do that with me. After a min of my mind just racing and trying to figure out what to do she asked if I was going to say anything. I told her sorry I had to pull over but yes I've always loved and wanted you. I said you know we are cousins are you sure you want to do this I know I do. And then I waited. I swear I could hear her arguing with herself about it then she said yes. She said she didn't care about that. All she knew is she wanted me and that's it. She asked where do you want to go from here. I said idk all I know is that I wish I was there with you now. Then she said something that I couldn't believe. She ask if I was what would I do to her. And from there it started. Next thing I know we are exchanging dirty pics and sexting. So far it has been about 10 years now and I'm now out of the military, have a good civilian jobs, and live about 5 hours from home. When ever I go back home my cousin and I fuck non stop. When I drive in to work I video call her as she is taking a shower or playing with herself for me. She is pretty much my bratty sub now and she and I both love it and idk if we are ever going to stop. I wanted to ask,Questions of what degree of each science subject are asked in the upsc exams? 10th, 12th standard or higher?

I was fortunate to know someone from a large company in Germany (not FAANG, but a manufacturing company) who is willing to vouch for me for this position in the same company (see below). I am now preparing for the interview with them after getting through the first screening round. Unfortunately, I don't know anybody working as a software tool developer, so I am now trying my luck again with kind strangers on the internet. My questions are (feel free to answer any of them):

1. What do you think they will ask in the technical interview for the position below? Or, put it differently, how should I interpret the requirements and the tasks correctly so I can be somewhat prepared for the upcoming technical interview? Right now, I am quite in the dark regarding the tasks that I must perform as a tool developer.
2. Any suggestions/experience on soft skills would be appreciated as well.

Im starting my AS after 13th June. I sat for my IGCSE's as a private candidate after trying 3 schools for it because I tend to get distracted with the schools' extra-curriculars etc. I have come to love Mathematics and Physics during my IGCSE's (though my predicted marks for Physics P4 Theory Exam are nothing above 60 out of 80 because I made several silly mistakes owing to just 1 hour sleep before the exam day).
Our household environment is more supportive and knowledge of a career in medicine for which in my country, I require to take all 3 sciences (Bio, Chem and Physics) in my A levels which I have taken all in my IGCSE, though I have the least interest in Chemistry because I'm more good working with a solid set of conditions, rulings and patterns as followed in Maths or Physics, which I really haven't found in IGCSE Chem.
For some reason there's always some exceptions and too many types of reactions in this subject [types of electrolysis, then different methods of making salt, types of addition reactions, exceptions to ionic bonding. No idea how in the World the compound ions form like I dont think so valency rules are followed there, I dont even know why Mn with the ox. state of +7 still bond with O2 to form MnO4(-1) and then react with K(+1). I am expecting I will get all these answers in AS, but I have still ruined my Chem ATP exam and will probably end up getting a maximum of 26/40 - I know Im doomed].
So, in conclusion I wanted a career in Quantum Physics, but have messed up this subject's Theory exam and this was just IGCSE, so what will I do in AS. I am motivated to join medicine which has been a preferred professional choice for many in my family before too. I sucked at Maths till 8th but worked during Covid era, after leaving school and eventually have come to adore this subject and embrace all its complexities in a way that I dont give up now. Recently, I decided with my parents to join the field of Bio-engineering, which is something they also felt right for me so they are entirely supportive of it but it's completely new in our family. I do not know if I require to take Mathematics in my A levels for it. Sciences, I think, are compulsory to work in this field.
After, witnessing many of my seniors struggle with 3 Science subjects in their AS and after taking an additional subject of Global Perspectives, myself, in my IGCSE (which was a huge mistake as it affected 2 of my other subjects and I ended up getting 1 B so I re-appeared for that exam this year along with my Sciences, Maths, First Language English and Second Language Urdu), I find it impractical to take all these 4 subjects in my A levels, yet I do not want to leave Mathematics and feel that deciding to carry on with Chemistry and leaving Maths would be the biggest regret of my life. Also, if I am to join the medical university I aim for in my country, I ought to have good Math skills too - they have 20-25% MCQ section about it in their entry test.
Now tell me what should I do for my AS? Would doing AS as a private candidate be a good choice for a student like me, considering I have to do my Science Practicals too (though I have no clue what is required from me in these practicals, and already I am clueless about what could have I done better to go around my Chem Alternative to Practical in a more effect manner cuz my memory skills are weaker than analytical skills so I messed up a question test my retaining of solubility patterns).
I joined an academy for my private IGCSEs throughout last year till my exams and it suited me the best. It has the same teachers for A levels, as those for IGCSE and I love to study with them because they actually know what they are doing and I have seen most of the learned students from good schools nearby going to this same academy despite the fact that those schools are in our capital city so few of the best here. Joining the academy for AS is a must for me, and Im gonna do that from July but should I join a school along wise? I get distracted easily with the activities and summer programs, however I also have heard that some are essential for admissions in good unis afterwards. I know one thing that I would have ended up with all B's or C's in my IGCSE had I kept on with those schools, which now isn't the case.
I also want your advices on opting for Maths with the 3 Sciences. And is Maths with Bio a necessity or even an advantage for Bio-engineering? (PS: I know it's very long, that's another bad habit I have - prolonging everything just like that. But I would highly appreciate your sincere advices, thank you :)

To preface this post, I want to give the disclaimer that like many things, there is not a black and white answer the question. I'm writing this as an experienced tech professional, and the information provided is based on opinion.
To start with. A little bit of history..
The golden age of software engineering(and similar jobs) is over. At least for the next 5 - 10 years. I don't think this is an unpopular opinion. The reason why between the years of 2010 - 2022, these jobs exploded, was because of the boom of the internet for commercial and personal use.
This is different from the dotcom boom of 2000s, where the internet was just starting and most of the products being created were for basic things like: putting banking on the internet, putting videos on the internet, etc.
The boom in the 2010s was related to the widespread popularity of commercial and personal products. Things like Uber, Spotify, and Salesforce. With the sudden increased usage of the digital world, there were MILLIONS of companies rushing to create digital products.
However, we're starting to see the rise and fall of some of these products, millions of startups failings, and less VC funding. In case you don't know, VC stands for Venture Capital, which are basically investment companies that give money to other companies to help them grow and develop, in return for partial ownership of the company.
As the industry began to mature, successful companies started to emerge, and many more started to fail.
The present day..
Software engineering and like jobs will continue to be important, and there will be a high demands for these engineers. Nearly every company will still need a website, a place to manage their data, and people to manage their hardware. BUT.. the basic technologies they need to run their company will become more efficient. AND there will be less research and innovation because the a lot of the trial and error already occurred.
We're in a weird spot where the demand for workers is now decreasing from it's recent peaks, and the supply of workers is now increasing because of how all the benefits of being a software engineer in the past decade.
This has really unfortunate consequences for any recent graduates or others trying to break into the tech field. There are WAY more beginning career people than jobs available. Which is made even worse with the amount of layoffs there are, where mid-level employees are now having to settle for entry level jobs.
What can we do?
I have two pieces of advice for people interested in the topic, or wanting to break into the field but can't. Try breaking in from a adjacent field, where you can get some exposure to tech. Things that data entry, analytics(this can be finance, supply chain etc). Then try to learn as much as you can from the tech people at your company.
The second piece of advice. Go into a different field. Software engineering is not for everyone. You have to learn and understand some relatively complex topics, and it's becoming harder and harder to be competitive in the industry. Healthcare, supply chain, and many other industries are booming right now.
Understanding history, you can see that certain industries will rise and fall. For the near future, technology might be one of the harder careers to break into. Something like healthcare would be that's expected to grow exponentially. The average population of the world is getting older, as less and less people are wanting to have kids. There will be higher demand for healthcare professionals and healthcare technology.
Do your best to review and understand these trends, and hopefully you can create a good life and career. Best of luck!

• "How _ works" or "Why is _ like this"
