2024.05.19 19:29 nbel1996 (28F) help deciphering these results - AMH 0.5, FSH 16, just off Nexplanon

*disclaimer - not an IVF patient, but an egg freezing patient.
So I want kids more than anything in the world, am finally in a spot financially that I can freeze my eggs without blowing my savings, but I'm a career changerelatively new in my field (work as a dietitian in a hospital) and know I'm at a minimum ~5 years out from being ready to have kids.
All of the above being said, I've been researching the egg freezing process for the last year, and because I'm young (turned 28 recently) and I know I have time on my side, I recently got my arm implant taken out (March 19) because I know it can artificially deplete my AMH levels, and had my initial ultrasound + bloodwork drawn last week to undergo the egg freezing process.
I fully prepared myself for the possibility that my AMH would come back a little bit on the lower side after being on Nexplanon for ~7 years and only recently having it taken out, but I wasn't expecting the results that I got.
My AMH came back at a 0.5, and my FSH came back at a 16, + I had 5 follicles on each ovary. My doctor didn't say anything about the other hormones they looked at (did mention my Vit D came back a hair low and my TSH was WNL), so I'm assuming everything else looked okay (+ he also mentioned that my uterus and my ovaries both looked good).
We decided to hold off on egg freezing for at least a few more months to give the hormones from Nexplanon a little bit more time for clear out of my system, but I can't tell if I'm being optimistic or am in serious denial about my ovarian reserve, given the expected AMH lab range for my age group is between 2.5-3.0, from what I've gathered.
I see this all of the time with patients at the hospital, so I know firsthand that you can do "everything right" from a lifestyle/health standpoint and still get hit with a life altering diagnosis - but I'm really struggling here. I'm young, I've been pregnant before (it was when I was 20, but still, I can count on one hand the number of times I've had unprotected sex, and one of them resulted in an unplanned pregnancy), I don't drink/smoke/do drugs, I've always been at a healthy weight/exercise regularly and have been pescetarian for ~9 years (was a personal trainer for years + am now a dietitian), and aside from being a neurotic/anxious f*ck, I don't have any health problems or anything in my history that would predispose me to diminished ovarian reserve, at least not as far as I know? (i.e. I've never had an STI, my paps come back normal, I don't have diabetes/high cholesterol/high blood pressure/PCOS, before Nexplanon my periods were normal, etc.)
The one thing I can think of is that my mom struggled for ~3 years to get pregnant with me (+ had a miscarriage before I was born), but she started trying when she was 33, hence why I decided to go through this process as young as I am. My mom also equates her struggles with infertility to stress (she was in a very high-stress job and was under a lot of pressure to stay thin, fashion industry), and when she finally *did* get pregnant with me at when she was 36, it was right after she was laid off + finally had a break from work. She never did IVF or any sort of fertility treatment, and she had me at 37 and my brother at 40.
IDK, I'm rambling now. Just curious if anyone has been through anything similar, or if anyone has any words of wisdom/comfort. I'm just *so* beyond glad I looked into this process and got this news now, because at least I know I have time of my side, and can prepare accordingly if I need to do multiple rounds of egg freezing.

I’m currently waiting results for our Embark test. I rescued Banzai a couple of weeks ago, the rescue had him listed as an Aussie/hound mix. But then I spoke to someone else at the rescue and they said they were told that his dad was a Merle Aussie and mom was a German shorthair - both papered. Guessing he’s about 5 months old - he’s 20 lbs. So now I’m really curious to know what he is! No matter what we still love him to pieces! Anyone have any guesses?
Here’s our timeline so far:

I am entering college in my 40s and need to show proof of MMR and varicella immunity. I definitely was vaccinated as a baby/child for MMR, and I vividly remember having chicken pox as a child. There weren’t vaccines for that in the late 70s/early 80s but I got it the natural way. My mom is a retired nurse and definitely ensured I had them, plus it was required to enter school. I should show antibodies for all of them. I went in for a titer test at the campus med center and results came back that I DON’T have antibodies for any of them except for rubella. Is this normal? They’re supposed to last a lifetime.

2024.05.19 17:25 EveningScientist8260 What Are Wall Street Analysts Missing in Rocket Lab's Growth Story? The analysis of questions asked by analysts during the last earnings call.

Rocket Lab's major and fastest-growing revenue stream is its space systems business, which is enabled by its launch business. Space systems have seen an impressive growth from 4.2 million revenues at the time of Rocket Lab's IPO in Q3 2021 to 40.1 million in Q3 2022, 46.3 million in Q3 2023 and they are guided to reach 77 to 81 million in Q2 2024.
The space systems business amounts to 799.7 million out of 1.015 billion Rocket Lab's total backlog, representing 78.78% of the backlog. Rocket Lab recently announced a significant contract to supply 2,000 reaction wheels this year, a figure not yet reflected in the backlog. Rocket Lab has also announced the contract to supply solar cells for 150 million.
Given the substantial contribution of the space systems business to Rocket Lab's growth since its IPO, it is expected that analysts would focus heavily on this segment during earnings calls. Surprisingly, this is not the case.
Only 1 of 23 questions directly related to the space systems business (the question No. 13 on the progress on SolAero's margins - labeled below as "Pricing"). 22 of 23 questions were concentrated on other topics - here's the list of all topics:
This lack of attention to the space systems business makes me wonder whether analysts are so overly fixated on the Neutron development that they are completely overlooking the booming space systems segment. They seem to be missing the forest for the trees.
This overfocus on Neutron may be one of symptoms why Rocket Lab remains so grossly undervalued. I'll discuss other symptoms in separate posts.
All 23 questions asked by all 8th analysts during the Q1 2024 earnings call are summarized below:
1st Analyst:
  1. Neutron - you're pushing that out by at least 6 months, is it mostly on engine side and what can pull that timeline in or push it out further?

When the three teens got up the next morning, they ate quickly before turning their attention back to the instrument.
With the soundboard ready enough, Derek's next task was to collect the string posts and such from some of the scrapped stringed instruments, but to do no more than clean them up if needed and set them aside for later.
While he was doing that, Shizoku was using one of the better instruments in the shop to make sure that Fuyuko had a solid concept of scales and octaves. During this, the luponi couldn't help but ask "Ya should be able ta hear as well as me, why are ya tryin' ta have me figure this out?"
"Well," the kitsune replied, "there's a few things involved. First, I have paid a lot more attention to my magical senses than my physical ones, so while my ears might be able to physically hear as well as yours, my mind isn't as attuned to working with that information. You have been used to pushing yourself to make the most of every sound." She hesitated a moment before adding, "There's something else involved with that, but I think it's best if someone more experienced teaches you, which Mordecai is probably going to do, so I am not going to even tell you what it's about. I just don't want you to think I hid something from you later."
After Fuyuko gave a slightly confused nod, Shizoku continued. "I am also giving you just enough information for you to get certain key concepts down. Once I do that, we can hunt for a fresh set of notes without the bias of the rest of my training. You'll understand when we are done."
Once she was satisfied with the taller girl's understanding, Shizoku began the next stage of the process. "Okay, now this instrument over here has some adjustable positioning with its tuning knobs, and we have some other pieces that were also still being prototyped. Fuyuko, what I want you to do is find a new note. We have a bunch of strings of different types, so you can play with it with different sounds. So you hunt down a note that you like, no, love. Deep or high or somewhere in between, it doesn't matter. Once we have a single note to work with, we can scale up or down as needed to get the matching ones, the only limitation is that it has to be a note Derek can hear. The notes I showed you are the notes I know, but technically a scale can be based on the harmonies of any frequency. Since you don't know all the systems that already exist, and you have really good hearing, you should be able to pick out a clean frequency to start with."
After Fuyuko got a hang of tuning strings, Shizoku had Derek follow her out of the workroom. "I don't want to disturb her concentration, and I don't want our reactions to influence her. I'm sure she's heard plenty of music before, but I doubt she's heard as much well-performed music as you have, so she won't know what sounds are supposedly wrong."
While Fuyuko was occupied, the pair explored the witch's island more, poking their noses into any unlocked buildings other than the main house. Some of them were storage, and some were other types of workshops. Shizoku wasn't certain if the wreck of an alchemy lab was the result of visitors or of Carmilla's own experiments, and decided it was best to not ask. But there were a lot of notes and a few books, so she decided to start browsing them and copying any new information she found. She also wrote on a couple of them to correct anything she saw that was clearly wrong.
Once the fox girl got distracted by her studies, Derek decided to practice channeling his elemental abilities more. The swamp was a fascinating mix of different types of elements and different ways elements could be seen. The concept of 'mud' was complicated enough that he was beginning to see it as its own thing, distinct from earth and water.
And then there was the way in which 'air' could be trapped in the muck, and even the more liquid stuff could prove difficult for air bubbles to escape readily. None of that was good quality air, at least, not if you needed to breathe, but it was air. Sort of.
He walked along the wooden walkways that wound around the island, probing as far as he could with his senses. Holding on to this state was tiring, but it was easier to keep doing this exercise when there was something new and interesting to puzzle out. He wasn't trying to manipulate or adjust anything right now, that seemed like a bad idea to mess with Carmilla's island, but there was enough here that was simply different from what he'd seen before to keep him occupied for a while.
So when Fuyuko had found the note she wanted to work with, she had to spend more time fetching her friends before they could continue. "So, as I was playin' with the notes, I kinda remembered some old songs my ma used ta sing ta me. They didn't sound the same as the songs people liked, and they ain't in common, so I ain't sung them in a long time, but I tried ta remember them as best I can, and then I figured out some strings that sounded like I remembered. I think these can work as part of a scale."
Shizoku was satisfied with the results. "It's not on any of the scales I know. Very good Fuyuko. Um, and maybe when we are done here, we can hear those songs. Now for the hard part. We have to find the harmonies. More specifically, we have to find the harmonies and how to create them with the available strings. This is going to be a lot of work, and most of it is still going to be based on Fuyuko's hearing, so our part is to make sure she has as many available strings and ways of adjusting them as possible."
It took several days in fact, including marking sections on the strings that could be used to change to a different harmonic note. Part of this was to create a lot of options, which they were going to need. Shizoku took a lot of notes during this, and Derek eventually had to go back to town to barter for some more strings. They had a lot more than they were going to use in the final product, but there were so many more possible notes than Derek had realized. And the tiny fox organizing their efforts was being perfectionist about having every possible option available. She'd also added "precise distance measuring tools" to his shopping list.
In the end, Derek had what she wanted, but he was pretty certain that he'd overpaid in at least one barter. At least he'd been able to get some more food supplies. The meals Udup got for them were fine, but a little repetitive and boring, so it was nice to get a change of pace. He also made sure to collect the items they had been storing in their room so that they didn't have to lug them around the swamp, as they had a place to stay on the witch's island.
And during all this Bip was amusing itself by learning to vibrate in tune with the various notes, and even showed off by making waves on its surface that matched the sound. Shizoku looked a little confused when she passed on what her familiar said, but to Derek that felt like an insight he needed to work on with his air attunement.
When their taskmistress was satisfied with their options, it was time to create the layout for their instrument. "We need a piece of wood the same size and shape as our instrument. We're going to figure out the best string order for what we want. This is going to involve a lot of moving things around, so we want to do the work here, and then copy that to the actual instrument when we are done."
This part went a lot faster but it still took most of a day to design their layout, and the next morning was used for their final assembly.
The instrument had a total of twenty-six strings, two octaves of thirteen notes each, with more notes available based on which of the raised ridges one pressed down on while plucking the string. Even with the tools that Derek had bought, measuring with enough precision was hard, but thankfully the tuning posts were all made to be used in experimental instruments so were easy to adjust.
After they had lunch, they got Carmilla to examine their work. "Huh," she murmured as she plucked each string, "yeah, that is a new sound. And this thing is cool, I need to find a name for it. Alright, you guys pass this stage, and with flying colors." She giggled, "Miss Kazoo says you did that the way hard way. It was thorough, but you should have been able to do it with about a third the work or less."
Shizoku scowled and said, "Well, she may have had a lot of music training, but I have had only so much, so I wanted to be sure I didn't miss anything." And then she blinked, "Wait, 'Kazoo'?"
Carmilla coughed. "Oops. I'm getting a scolding now from Mordecai. Um, maybe don't use that? Anyway, you guys did a great job and put a lot of creative and physical effort into this. That adds up, you know? So with this and all the other stuff you guys did before coming here, I only get to ask you for one more task. I want you to put on a performance for me. And I want it to include that instrument. You can practice with this one, Kazue will make a copy that is a bit more stable for the performance and for me to keep."
That elicited groans from the entire group, but Shizoku rebounded quickly. "Wait, I have an idea. Um, I think we need a couple of days of practice, and we need a drum as well."
The plan was pretty straightforward. Fuyuko was going to sing the songs she could remember, and teach them to Shizoku and Derek while also doing her best to play the notes on their new instrument. She wasn't really going to be very proficient at it in only a couple of days, but they were able to work out the simplest arrangement that would go with her songs.
Derek's job was to maintain a steady beat on the drum and sing along with the chorus of the song. Not knowing the language that Fuyuko was singing in made this part harder.
Shizoku's job was to adjust one of the dances she knew to the timing of Fuyuko's song. She even dug into one of her expanded space bags to bring out a very fancy looking kimono and a pair of fans that could be used to create a sharp snapping sound, which could be used to contrast the low sound of the drum that Derek was playing.
The resulting performance was far from professional. Fuyuko only had a small pattern of notes she could reliably reproduce while singing, and they were somewhat spread out as she couldn't play fast at all. Shizoku's fan dance also didn't really match the feel of the song despite the adjustments she tried to make, and Derek's reproduction of the chorus was far from perfect.
But they put sincere effort into it, and Carmilla was satisfied. "Oh, that will be a great start, and I think I am going to like playing this. Thank you, I think you three have put more real effort into this than most of the adults have. Oh, they have a special gift for you Fuyuko, they say you should have it now." A small book appeared in her hands, which she handed over to Fuyuko. "Part of the dungeon magic means they learned that language when you sang it. This is a copy of every song you sang and a translation. The writing for the original is sounded out using the common alphabet, they don't have a writing sample to learn the original script from. Um, they also think you should wait to read it until you guys are settled in for the night. I'll let you three through the swamp tomorrow, and you can collect your big prizes when you get to the end."
The reason for waiting became clear to Fuyuko when she did start reading later that night, and she began crying. "I remembered the words and the sounds, but it's been so long that I didn't really remember the meaning. They were lullabies. They were my clan's lullabies."
Shizoku and Derek did their best to comfort their friend, but her tears were both of pain and of joy. She was very happy to have this small bit of her past restored to her, even if the translations showed she'd forgotten a verse or two. She was going to do her best to remember them all and make sure they were written down.
She was much calmer by morning, and the three collected themselves and set off to make their way to the briar wall that blocked off the exit to the level. The passage through went fine, but the corridor after was not the straight path Fuyuko had expected. It was blocked off, and there was a single stair way splitting off from the corridor. "Um, guys. That's supposed ta be the way we go, it goes ta a big room ta watch the arena from. That's, um, one of the stairs down to the arena."
They didn't know what to make of this and made their way down very cautiously.
Mordecai was waiting for them, along with several bunkins and kobolds. "So, who is up for an optional bonus challenge?" He asked them with a grin.

This past week is the one of the most exciting and much awaited #TheGirlsAloudShow. That show has been a random mix of emotions especially three songs where Sarah made the most significant part of the tour: Whole Lotta History , The Promise and I'll Stand by You. On the first night in Dublin, most of the fans were excited about the return of Girls Aloud. They felt that the show is too different as it is the first tour since Sarah left us over 2 years ago.
We sincerely apologise for the people who didn't want spoilers although the press (newspapers, tv and radio, and even few celeb fans) did those first. In speaking of predictions, X(Twitter) user JohnAndEdward posted on best bits of the first day of the Tour. When they showed Sarah on the visuals for Whole Lotta History, a lot of fans ended up in tears and nostalgic.
Likewise, JohnAndEdward (via X) uploaded the tour programme and one of the most significant highlight is Sarah's Breast Cancer Appeal. GA announced that the breast cancer research among young women (30s) is now on the second phase where the donations from the show will be used and more lab tests to be expected on the participants to make best results.
During the second night of the tour, Cheryl was absolutely emotional while performing I'll Stand by You as they remember Sarah. The visuals on Sarah's iconic lines "walking primrose" in The Promise are too memorable at all, some of the fans began crying especially those in the VIP zones,. Recently , Irish Independent and The Guardian score 4/5 stars in their tour reviews. The fans were on half reactions on not including The Loving Kind in the setlist. All in all, there are 20 songs performed in Dublin for two nights. Their next stop is Belfast for two nights also. Another thing, the merchandise stall is provided where you can buy its tour programme, mugs, tees, etc...
To the fans of Girls Aloud, you deserved one of the most important moment in UK Pop history as they performed in honour of Sarah. Enjoy the show as always and keep the memories cherished. To the families and friends of the girls, they are doing in a very best way on entertaining the fans. Being supportive is one of the main ingredients of their fame. To Sarah's family and friends, her legacy remains enshrined for years to come especially her two significant wishes are to unite with the girls and to develop a scientific study for the risk of breast cancer among young women with no family history. For a while now, I've been using the Carlsons 14412 Browning Extended Choke Tube Set. Honestly, the first time I took it out, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the stainless steel construction. However, a few rounds later, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the durability of the material held up pretty well, especially when I was cleaning after a hunting session—no pit marks to be seen.
One particularly impressive feature was the choke's versatility. With it, I could use various types of ammo, from lead to steel—just like the instructions specified. But one thing that I found a bit confusing was the sizing. It took me a couple of times trying out different ammo sizes to get the knack of it, but once I had it figured out, it worked smoothly.
However, there were a couple of snags as well. For one thing, I wish they had put those laser-marked notch designs on the front lip. It just made it harder for me to figure which one I needed, especially since each choke tube is identical to the next. Secondly, I really missed the convenience of the plastic storage tube and wrench that typically comes with the Browning chokes—I ended up having to buy those separately. It's the little extra touches like those that really make a product stand out.
All in all, the Carlsons14412 Browning Extended Choke Tube Set offers some cool features, and it's performed pretty well for me so far. In terms of quality, I'll give it a 4 out of 5 and highly recommend it to other Browning Invector Plus users. Just keep those missing pieces in mind, or prepare to make a few extra purchases.

As I delve into the world of filters and chokes, my eyes fell upon the Hammond 158M Filter Choke, an intriguing and compact filter solution. Being a curious tinkerer, I decided to give this 158M a whirl.
The first thing I noticed was the 5" long leads that sprouted from it, reminding me of a caterpillar. It was a refreshing and unexpected feature. These leads added versatility and made connecting distant sources a piece of cake.
The chime of 262 ohm impedance output resonated within my lab, as this filter helped maintain a stable output voltage. It was like having an unseen hand that kept my experiment running at just the right current.
However, this unseen hand seemed to have a mind of its own. I noticed that the filter would exhibit less inductance at slightly higher currents and more inductance at lower ones. This erratic behavior was a bit of a headache, but it gave me an opportunity to fine-tune my experiments.

Why didn't/couldn't Sidorovich, Barkeep and Sakharov recognize Strelok during SoC events?
This might seem like a plothole, but it actually isn't. Sid didn't know Strelok personally:
"Yeah, I've heard of a stalker by that name. Rumors is he's one of the few who went to the center of the Zone and made it back. Still, we got so many of these legendary stories about stalker heroes that I can't really guarantee anything. At any rate, I've never dealt with him personally. It seems he has his own trading channels. Anyhow, just ask the folks here in the Zone and you'll be sure to learn a lot more." Clear Sky confirms that his words are true, because during CS events it was Fang who had a business with Sidorovich and not Strelok.

About Sakharov - There are plenty of possible explanations for the fact that he doesn't recognize Strelok, but the closest we have to an official explanation is included in the design document of the original storyline of the prequel, where it's said that Strelok's face was bandaged at the time:
"Strelok, whose face is still covered with bandages, comes to Sakharov and tells that he is planning a trip to the CNPP."
Of course, it's not really canon, but it still works.
Why won't military just bomb the Zone?
First of all, they already tried but failed:

I heard a few stories about how, just as the Zone formed, the government organized a military operation in here. Is the Zone growing?
Only SoC presents this idea. Neither Clear Sky nor Call of Pripyat mentioned anything about Zone's expansion. In fact, Hermann in CoP just said that Zone is evolving, while Loki directly said that it isn't getting bigger:

They could just sit there and study it to their heart's content - just think of how many scientific discoveries could be made... What happened to Scar?
There can be many answers to this question. Scar's fate could have turned out in many ways - perhaps, if the brainwashing process failed, he became simply zombified; if it was successful, he could've died while being transported in the death truck; if this didn't happen, he had a clearly defined task to perform, and could die while trying to do it; if he survived, he might still be wandering around the Zone as an amnesiac.
It's also possible that he simply died during the emission, or was captured but somehow managed to overcome the brainwashing process and escaped from whatever laboratory it was taking place in.
Monolith's weaponry. How do they have so many guns?
It can be partially explained by a couple of things. First thing that should be noted is that Monolith before trilogy used to be different faction. Second thing is that even rookies know that they gotta get better equipment before going deeper into the Zone:

And lastly, C-Consciousness Representative said "From the moment the Zone was formed, many people have tried to get to its center". Many people seem to think that Brain Scorcher only turns people into zombies, but it seems that it was also capable of converting them to Monolith:

About their suits - there can be more than 1 answer.
It's interesting to point out that Monolith suit was located in lab X-18. Either the faction stashed them there, or they were here before. A possible explanation could be that such suits were used by guards of the secret facilities in the Zone before the 2nd disaster

Lastly, Yantar loner NPCs in Clear Sky mention in their dialogue mention very interesting thing:
"I heard a whole faction went missing in the Zone. You ever heard of Monolith? Well, they used to protect the Zone from others, but they made a move towards the center right before the Emission. Nobody has heard from them since, but recently some real aggressive stalkers have been attacking from where the Scorcher is, killing everyone and asking no questions. I know because I saw them myself around the military warehouses, and I reckon they might be those same Monolithians who disappeared. It wouldn't surprise me, because their uniforms looked real similar." Other than a fact that Monolith faction of the trilogy had members from older Monolith who wore similar uniform, dead bodies of Monolithians in Clear Sky, that are scattered over the Zone very well could be the dead bodies of older Monolith faction

The heavy-duty brass material of the foam cannon makes it sturdy and long-lasting, perfect for both residential and commercial usage. It's been months since I got it, and it still works like brand new! I'm surprised how versatile this foam cannon is.

This is THE best free AI STILL. By far. There is NO competition.
I am currently making it write a short science fiction story. I asked it to make a plot, with mid story twist and ending twist.
Next, I asked it to add two supporting protagonists to the story. Next, I asked it to add three minor characters to the story.
The twist in the middle is great. The ending twist it came up with is fantastic. Action is on a colonizing spaceship flying to another planet.
At first, it wrote a short story with literally 6 paragraphs, divided into chapters. I asked it to write "OK, just write chapter 1 scene 1", asked it to write location descriptions, dialogue between characters.
And it did so. And how.
Here's how I work with the AI to develop the story, lets jump into the middle of it.
Me: Good, but the banter between Maya and Alex should be more joking, less on stressing importance of mission. Make the "alien life form" banter into some form of a joke? Also, the bit about contributing to humanity's future is not necessary.
Pi: "So, what's on the docket for today?" Maya asked as they walked toward the genetics lab. "Oh, just a bit of genetic sequencing, some data analysis, and maybe a game of hide-and-seek with a rogue gene or two," Alex quipped. Maya laughed. "Ah, the glamorous life of a scientist on a generational ship! Sometimes I wonder if there are alien life forms out there having more fun than us." "If there are, they better have some killer dance moves, because our moves in these lab coats are interstellar," Alex joked, striking an exaggerated pose. Maya chuckled, playing along. There have been people that think they have MCAS because Cromolyn helped their asthma, H1 medication helped their urticaria, or H2 helped their heartburn. These medications are all widely used and are rather "off label" used for MCAS. That is why all 3 criteria need to be present.

Primary and secondary MCAS are easy to rule out, due to specific and severe symptoms and quite obvious underlying mechanism like an IgE dependant allergy or the genetic mutation. The diagnosis that is under question is the idiopathic MCAS, where the underlying mechanism is unknown, these people still need to fullfill the diagnostic markers, but in reality this happens only rarely.
Still many think they have a secondary MCAS, it is said by certain authors that a secondary MCAS would have a prevalance of 17-30 per cent. They say that long covid and/or T-Cells are the problem. That this would be quite easy to proof if it would be happening they do not care about. That this has already been evaluated they do not care about. The desperate patients are easy to convince it seems.
Some people even make claim their MCAS would be due to a root cause of "Sibo", "Leaky gut" or "microbiome disbalance", all which are unrelated to a MCAS and heavenly overdiagnosed or not even proven to excist, just like the whole hEDS and POTS misdiagnoses going on. Mast cells in the gut have been studied and people with IBS have had no success with mast cell treatment.
It is also a burden for patients, knowing that even some doctors do not stick to authentic measures and give out misinformation. Maybe because of a conflict of interest? Since most internet posts that come up include misinformation, it is hard for sufferers to find alike. MCAS communities are full of people who do not have MCAS. MCAS sufferers have no community right now.

"My blood and 24hr urine collection testing came back normal. The allergist I saw also told me outright he doubted I had MCAS (a fad diagnosis along with EDS and POTS, as he said) but did end up suggesting I come back to get samples tested during an episode. I was so frustrated with the allergist that I’ve never gone through with that. Instead my amazing primary doctor decided to prescribe me montelukast and monitor my reaction to trialing antihistamines at home, and I had immediate positive response! Although we treat it as such, I don’t actually have an “official” MCAS diagnosis on my chart. IME the specialists who do inquire about all my meds or listen to my symptoms don’t seem to differentiate between MCAS and allergies/sensitivities anyway :/ but my case isn’t super severe and currently well-controlled so that works for me. "Mine was actually fairly easy when I finally figured out it was MCAS.
Got referred to immunology to rule out mastocytosis. Then my PCP at the time did a clinical diagnosis. She wasn’t risking putting me into anaphylaxis to maybe get a positive result on any of the mast cell mediator labs (this doctor was one who didn’t list a diagnosis unless she was confident it isn’t anything else and spent 8 years trying to get an answer).
My current doctors don’t question it because my symptoms at this point line up perfectly with MCAS."

Why is this taking so long??
I’ve been waiting well over a month and still no results, it’s so frustrating yet my 23andme kit that I sent out at the same time as this one, I received my results in less than 3 weeks, yet it’s been well over a month and nothing, its 2024, they need faster processing times, it shouldn’t take no more than like 3 weeks to receive results when their isn’t any special holiday sales going on.
