2023.04.24 23:34 FanganChild The Poppy Playtime Timeline

Originally, I had posted this to GameTheorists for the sake of a theory I was working on that got disproved a little while ago (this took a whole day to make). However, I figured it would also be of greater use here on the main sub.
I know some people don't like Poppy Playtime, but I made this in hopes that when the time comes with more information, we could come back to this and shape it up, but I originally was making this for a theory I had (that got disproved by something else I didn't know at the time).
1930: Elliot Ludwig founded Playtime Co (the soon to be king company that would dominate manufacturing)
1931 - 1949: All years following are unaccounted for (no information present)
1950: The Poppy Playtime doll would be created (opening up the gateway to Elliot's company selling massive hits after his first success, Poppy)
1951 - 1954: All years following are unaccounted for (no information present)
1955: Thomas Clark (age 36) Would become an employee for the company.
1956 - 1959: All years following are unaccounted for (no information present)
1960's (60?): An unfortunate family death would later occur, but Ludwig kept creating despite his loss.
(I can't prove it, but her death my be the result for why the onsite orphanage was created during his later years, or at least have some involvement for it's creation)
1960: Make-A-Friend machine was invented, the machine being considered as one of Elliot's most innovative ideas yet that surpassed his other feats in the company (at least that were known by the entire company)
1961: Bron (another mascot for Playtime) was created.
1966: Five years after Bron, Boxy Boo's toy would be made, but he would not be apart of the main line of mascots.
1967 - 1978: All years following are unaccounted for (no information present)
1979: Candy Cat would become Playtime's newest mascot with the intention of being a unique individual to keep up with the new decade, as seen on her Digital Collectible Profile.
1980 - 1983: All years following are unaccounted for (no information present)
1984: Huggy Wuggy (our first antagonist) would be created as our newest mascot
1985: Kissy Missy (our cuddly friend) would then be created as the counterpart to Huggy, assumed to be his spouse
1986 - 1987: years following are unaccounted for (no information present)
May 9, 1988: An archived tweet reveals Rowan Stoll informing Playtime Co. that he works with computers, and that he does not work within the mechanical department. He had been queried to fix a machine with the appearance of a piano. This machine was later revealed in Project: Playtime as the Puzzle Pillars.
1989 - 1990: All years following are unaccounted for (no information present)
Side Note: I do assume that these were the most active years of testing (1989 - 1990) considering that we find a paper depicting the results of 814 on Elliot's desk as a failure. This would also be around the time he was killed by Harley Sawyer and theorized to become The Prototype.
My basis for this is that The Prototype had a unique skill set, but was that of a genius, considering that 1006 was able to make a laser that disabled a camera, allowing it to hide within the camera's blind spot. His plan would fail as the door thwarted him from leaving just in time, at the cost of a specialist they sent in to find him.
Elliot was that of a visionary, but had the mind of an inventor, able to create machinery that would help strengthen that of his company. Not to mention he was also responsible for bringing poppy to life (Even though he had know idea yet as to how he did it yet).
1991: Huggy Wuggy would be the first of the following experiments to be created (soon to become the company's security)
1: Thomas Clark at the current age of 59 would then be diagnosed with lung cancer. To escape death, he would willingly subject himself to becoming an experiment, successfully becoming Bron the dinosaur (Experiment 1199) after six months passed from him being diagnosed.
2: Mommy Long Legs (formerly known as the test subject Marie Payne) was then created as part of the Bigger Bodies Initiative (the same as Huggy, Bron, and Boxy Boo).
Side Note: There's two things that bother me here actually. First, she was created sometime before 1991 as a failed experiment designed to soothe and calm children, which in a way throws off dates of each experiment somewhat (unless they were just starting, and didn't finish experimentation until the year of 1991). Thomas Clark might be an exception as his experimentation could've possibly been done overnight, but I can't prove this yet.
Secondly, it's stated that her toy debut was officially done on that of February 2, 1991 (at least on the on the Playtime fandom page, which I haven't confirmed if it's true or false yet). This would mean that Huggy Wuggy and Bron (Thomas Clark) were done with their experimentation sometime during January. If that's the case, then the scientists were increasing experimentation by a rapid rate, considering all the toy experiments in the restricted restoration video.
3: Candy Cat (Makayla Hyssop) and Kissy Missy (presumed to be Patty Hall) are the only current monsters that were made during the same year as Bron, Huggy, and Mommy.
January 2, 1991: Patty Hall (assumed to be Kissy Missy) was a Playtime Co. employee who for some reason sabotaged a paint machine by giving the toys an usual and false coloring. She was dealt with effective immediately.
January 4, 1991: On her notice of disciplinary action found in Rowan Stoll's computer database, the fate she was sentenced to was demotion by none other than Harley Sawyer himself as his signature was found on the paper. She was placed in Storage B for further instructions after losing her role as a toy designer.
March 21, 1991//1:04pm: Leith begins by questioning Marcas if he can record the conversation, which to Marcas agrees rather nervously. It seems to be common for employees to be nervous when being around Leith Pierre, with Rowan Stoll being another example.
Marcas explains to Leith that he was heading home for the day until he came to the realization that he left his wallet in the cafeteria. He hurried towards the cafeteria to get his wallet back, but stumbled upon a mop handle lodged under the innovation wing gate. Seeing as how it was potentially dangerous, Marcas attempted to grab onto the handle before it started moving on it's own, which had him scared stiff. Wondering what was the cause, he began peaking beneath the gate before encountering a odd figure described as "fifty feet long with a thousand legs".
Leith Pierre, skeptical of Marcas' claims, insinuates that maybe he actually witnessed a handful of people walking by. Marcas states back to him that "It wasn't people," and swore that he indeed saw what he saw. Leith asked if he had told this to anybody else besides him, and Marcas stated that Leith was the only person who currently knew about the incident. Still skeptical of the information, Leith told Marcas that he would skim the security cameras to take a look. In a fit of rage, Marcas explained that skimming the security system wouldn't fix the issue at hand. Leith concluded the interview by kicking Marcas out of his office before stating that the company made toys and not monsters.
As Marcas lifted himself off the seat he was sitting in, Leith asks Marcus to fetch him coffee before backtracking and asking him to leave his office for a second time.
March 30, 1991//10:22am: Rowan Stoll makes a video addressed to Leith Pierre regarding the possibility that the eyes in the Huggy Wuggy statue secretly holds nanny cams. Multiple tour guests complain that Huggy Wuggy stares at kids, and although seeming like a joke, Rowan believed this statement to be true. If only he knew.
May 28, 1991//10:05am: Rowan begins retracting his previous concerns regarding Huggy Wuggy, claiming he went to interview the Maintenance guy and the man simply failed to lock Huggy's eyes in place, causing his eyes to dangle. Rowan tells Mr. Pierre that there will be no more videos coming from him, which is only a half truth.
July 15, 1991//2:04am: Rowan makes a third recording detailing what occurred after his last video to Leith Pierre three months ago. One thing he makes clear is that four days ago on July 11 that Thursday, his car was tampered with, causing his tire to fly on the interstate, nearly getting him killed as a result. He further continues to state that the company has been using the money they've made to conduct experiments on people within the factory. However, he hatches a plan that tells the viewers of the tape that next week he scheduled the security and company servers to be shut down for at least one full hour of maintenance. Upon this statement, his goal was to release everything, and make a run for it during the time everything was shutdown. This didn't stop him from declaring that the company might kill him first, seeing as they have attempted to "deal" with him "accordingly." Although it's unexplained how he managed to find out about Boxy Boo, he realized that Leith was something else entirely whilst regretting not being able to expose everything when he had the chance to do so. With this, Rowan makes one final cry to whoever finds this tape, explaining that all the evidence is within this footage, begging anyone to get it within custody of the police before closing out his video with one final goodbye. Next week once he initiates his plan, Rowan could be seen on two cameras making his way to the backstage area, coming across that of a large jack in the box. Unfortunately, this would be his final moments as Boxy Boo erupts from the confines of his box, eating Rowan alive whom was initially caught by surprise at the fact that this entire time he just got down there, the box before him was the monster eating people. Rowan became Boxy Boo's next victim.
Side Note: On this same exact date (July 15), Rowan wrote a letter to his mother during his last few days as a hard working employee of Playtime Co. He goes on to apologize about how this might be his last time he'll ever get to speak with her, urging her to not come looking for him. Instead, he asks of her to stay away from the factory and search the contents of his computer containing the evil secrets behind that of the factory, hoping that she would investigate. If she succeeded in finding out what Rowan had dug up, he made it clear for her to get it into the hands of the authorities. He proceeds to end his letter with "I love you, and I hope you can forgive me."
(However, it's currently unknown if the letter ever made it to her or not. Considering how his story ends, it most likely didn't. It didn't stop here though for Rowan. What happened was something out of his control.)
July 20, 1991: A document was then addressed to all Employees of Playtime Co, giving notice to an issue regarding company security. Simply put, it goes on to state that any breach of confidentiality is an automatic termination and/or prosecution. Everything gets worse when the letter goes on to state that they'll be doing a sweep of the Computer Database outside of work hours to avoid impacting the employee workflow. Most importantly though, they made sure to inform everyone of their right to delete employee files, mail, and emails as they deemed fit. Attempts to interfere/disrupt the search would possibly result in disciplinary action. All employees were also subject to any interrogation and investigation if deemed appropriate. Yet the signature was by none other than Rowan Stoll himself.
June 18, 1992//10:27pm: Huggy Wuggy escapes the facility through an open delivery bay door in the production wing. Two staff members who witnessed the incident sounded the alarm.
10:50pm - 3:38am: The search area expands over four square miles, expanding into residential perimeters. However, upon exiting a certain range, the team's radios became unrealiable.
11:33 - 11:34pm (June 18): One of the employees' death was witnessed on camera. This wouldn't be the only one to occur.
June 19, 1992: By the end of this, five employees are confirmed dead with six being labeled missing (most likely killed by Huggy with their bodies being disposed of in someway.) It took near four hours to capture and sedate him. Leith Pierre, with no clue as to how Huggy was able to access the ventilation system, says it was blind luck he wasn't found by anyone else. Lives were still lost as a result of this, and he definitely wasn't happy.
Side Note: the same time this year, the Playtime Co Employee Safety Video would be dropped regarding regulations of the employee's first day and continued days at the factory. However, during the video, the instructor makes it very clear that the Company doesn't have any trust in their employees, since a few of the rules here makes it very imperative to single out anyone who breaks the rules, no overtime, no access to restricted areas, no leaving your area before the bell without supervisor confirmation, telling what goes on within the factory, etc. What makes this more unsettling is the implied "termination" from Huggy as he could be seen holding a gun in the video.
1993: Boogie Bot, the company's latest mascot would be produced that same year. There's no information though on whether or not there was a subject for him though, due to later events.
1994: The year following is unaccounted for (no information present)
August 8, 1995: The restricted relocation starts off with viewers told not to continue watching the video (we ignore the warning, obviously.)
Upon the first step, we're told to retrieve the giant from Storage B. Secondly, we're then told to secure the giant for the relocation guide. Then on step three, it's explained to us that the giant needs to be loaded onto the train. This is where things start to go wrong. Continuously from step four and onwards, the video constantly displays a red message to release the giant from its straps, meaning that a third party was doing its best to have the employees release Kissy Missy.
10:59am - 11:00am: For unknown reasons, the train can be seen speeding down the tracks at a rapid rate. Whether if they were running late, or because of any other situation is currently unexplained. So far, Kissy Missy remains docile with a smile on her face.
(From quick attention to the details of the area, the fact that there are guts littering the floor along with scratch marks on the plank that Kissy Missy was attached to, reveals that she didn't do this, as any other monster would've eaten the guts and corpses on the ground. It's theorized that because of her current nature, she failed to kill the employees once they released her, so the prototype stepped in and killed them himself. This would explain why the corpses would remain, as he didn't need sustenance to survive.)
1: It's also been proven that the same day Kissy Missy was freed by the employees before they were killed, was also the same day the factory shut down, as screaming along with the death noises from various monsters could be heard in the background.
2: One final log made from an unknown scientists confirms this as the employees could be heard dying boy the monsters in the background. In the log, he acknowledges that The Prototype was behind this incident while banging could be heard on a locked door; this was the room he locked himself in at the time. Unfortunately for him, the tape ends with the door being broke down, the man presumably killed by whoever got in.
Side Note: So, a few months back I actually found something regarding the synopsis of the story. While it doesn't seem likely it could be used here, I thought it seemed appropriate since it actually fills in the blanks on two things that happened here before, and after the incident.
August 9, 1995: The next morning we showed up for work, military vehicles were guarding the outside of the building. Apparently, while we were sick, every singe person inside the factory vanished into thin air, leaving no trace to any that had ever been there. However, they wouldn't find any clues as to what took place on August 8. Now, 10 years later, we return for a visit...
(However, out of all the employees here, it's only been confirmed that Elliot and Rowan (possibly Marcas a well) are actually deceased. Everyone other status for the head positions are currently unknown.
Side Note: Sometime after the events of the toy rampage, Leith hired a series of Resource Extraction Specialists to enter the factory and build giant toys seen scattered throughout the maps featured within Project: Playtime to continue the Bigger Bodies Initiative. However, during this process, the Resource Extraction Specialists get caught along with the monsters Playtime Co. created, resulting in them swiftly attempting to extract Toy Parts while running from the Monster lurking around the area.
(Furthermore, Playtime Co eventually stopped sending in Survivors, and the Bigger Bodies Initiative came to a close. This however, was a double-edged sword for both sides. Since no more specialists were risking their lives, the monsters lost their steady source of incoming food. The monsters, now desperate and out of options, began to consume the smaller toys to survive. The only one to benefit from this outcome was experiment 1006, who would later on fuse himself with spare toys or toy parts that the monsters left, reviving them. This method kept the malnourished experiments alive for ten years until the eventual return of The Player.)
1996 - 2000: years following are unaccounted for (no information present)
2001 - 2004: years following are unaccounted for (no information present)
2005: After ten years, we (The Player) would finally receive the letter and tape that started it all, slowly fighting our way through the story until we finally solved the mystery behind everything. Who remained after the events of August 8, 1995? And why did it take 10 years for these events to finally be revealed?
So far, this is all I have for the timeline. I might be missing some information, so if I am, any corrections or added information would be much obliged. Until then, it's just a theory. Thanks for reading.
