2024.05.02 23:35 zachswright Data quality, participant experience, & AI: Market Research in 2024

I recently interviewed Karine Pepin, a market research professional with 20+ years of experience, on the state of market research in 2024.
Some highlights:
Is Online Participant Recrutiment Broken?
“We’ve created this system that favors fraudsters and professional respondents. What do you think that does to the data?”
Market Researchers are Now Content Creators
“Stakeholders are people, and people love bite-sized information. They like that it’s curated, that they don’t have to go through hundreds of slides.”
Conversational AI: The Game Changer
“Conversational AI is completely different.
In a survey, to have the ability to respond to the respondent in real time, with a response that makes sense, and a follow-up that makes sense - that’s completely new.
I think there’s a lot we can do with this.”
Karine has some of the sharpest insights into the market research space today, if you want to check out the full episode, you can find the link to the YouTube episode in my profile.
Hope you enjoy!

2024.05.02 23:06 parallelphilosophy Asking in sincerity: how many of you have considered/started OF for the sakes of necessity and what was/is your experience like?

The last 2 years has been a succession of unexpected blows financially/personally, and more and more I've been feeling backed into a corner with no alternatives. Without giving away personal details, the TLDR is 1. ended a long term relationship that included mental health disorde manipulation, 2. sold joint house and moved (broke even due to market conditions) 3. worked 3 jobs for a year to stay afloat personal and business debts from prior venture, 4. multiple high cost car and vet bills weighing into the thousands, 5. found out car is a lemon with a lot more issues than prior assessments revealed, now unusable and to be scrapped 6. working FT now and quit second job to focus on upskill studies in hopes to advance work and salary and digging into credit as a gamble
The thing with life is that it can suck. Simultaneous with it being also great in a lot of ways. Most of the time I can be nuanced enough to appreciate that the only way is through. Even admist tears I won't deny that.
I've considered OF before throughout the above unfolding but always stepped back for the various fears of being found out by your professional colleagues/friends (albeit that's the deal and no one can escape that), plus the personal fear that it won't compensate monetarily to be worthwhile and you'll suffer a private ego blow for exposing yourself only to find you aren't 'valued'. Feels like the last straw on the camel's back in that case. With my personality, if I decided to pursue OF, I'd want to give it my best and actually try to make valuable content (whatever that may mean). In some idyllic way, to cultivate a little more conversation and levity than banal sexualization - would that even be an option/appeal? Previously I've dallied briefly on sugar baby websites after hearing experiences from friends but backed out after meeting my current partner and never ended up engaging with anyone online.
Watching/reading interviews with other OF creators, and even witnessing personal connections promote their OF during the pandemic through social media was eye opening. It can be a side hustle or a full time job and the returns are dependent on your effort, your niche, and perhaps luck too. It's a saturated market as with anything else in this economy. The idea for me would be a part time hustle to alleviate bills and provide a little more financial security. The goal to study is to upgrade my financial situation and future opportunities of course. My current work being in a small company without advancement opportunities (I have found after various suggestions of new ideas that growth may not be in line with the founder's goals) . Also due to my current FT being occasionally on call, especially during summer season, it's hard to secure a secondary parttime, thus I quit in hopes to accelerate the studies online, but its a gamble as I lose the secondary income and so far have been blowing my budget due to various costs related to my car and pets.
The mental idea of interacting on OF appears to be a scary world for me and I'm uncertain how fragile my ability is to compartmentalize the interactions of how I feel (towards myself and others) online. I got off instagram over the new year for mental health reasons, recently returning for work, but have found it rather pleasant to have my world smaller. I'm well aware of how paradoxical my desires and personal outlook/lifestyle is to the pursuit of OF. Perhaps I'm in illusion and holding out hope for this option that I have not yet undertaken . Or I am skewed in my biased opinion of what OF work can be, as it may well surprise me for the better. At this point of the day, after several big cries, and fatefully processing things we cannot change, I suppose the dilemma is always going to be whether it will work/be worthwhile - though nothing is guaranteed in life - and potential future ramifications. I have delved into several rabbit holes of interviews/podcasts of select adult sex workers in the porn industry that I respect/am a fan of and they shared great insight into behind the scenes of sex work and things to consider. I really appreciated learning about their craft (with which they have obvious success) and their candor to articulate healthy sexualization and entrepreneurship but am uncertain how I might fair in this. In any case, if you read this far, thank you for reading. It calmed me down to focus on putting words on the screen than spiral loosely.
I hope this doesn't count as a rant or spam. I'd love to hear your thoughts as a general public, someone who is on OF as a creator or a fan, or just life tips/pov that I could consider. Using a throwaway account in case I regret this. Cheers everyone x

2024.05.02 22:57 themusicfanman Requiring Participation Idea

Hi team,
I am proposing a participation requirement at the musicorloseittv community.
I am proposing a requirement that in order to make a next post - the posting person must comment at least a sentence at 2 other posts. I strongly feel posting and ghosting is of little value to the community.
This may be only temporary. At mod forums I confirmed this is allowed.
This type of participation required at https://www.reddit.com/OCPoetry/new and that community has 262K members. I also learned mods can limit new members to only commenting until they've been in the community for a while. I am less inclined to do that - yet it's worth considering if that can be useful or not.
I used to hate when I'd join online groups trying to join groups and see rules to the effect "must participate in the community." I thought to myself, "As a creator, don't they already know how buy I am?" However, when I am checking out a new music creator's profile online and discover they've been mass-posting - most of them have 0 replies typically. I used to do this myself years ago on Facebook and Twitter. Now, most websites seem to shadow ban or outright bans that mass-post the same link too often.
While I am in no way suggesting all of you be musicorloseittv community exclusives, I am suggesting it's probably better to post only at creator-friendly communities that welcome self promoting. especially at "where everybody knows you're name" type places like places like the musicorloseittv community.
At the April contest vote, Mild Effects commented, "Noticed how few people voted in the first round, 7 voters vs 16 participants. Perhaps it should be mandatory for every participating creator to vote for another creator." As a mod, Reddit does not enable me to see who voted for who - as far as I can tell. I don't even get to see who is leading (since I don't vote in the contest). I only get to know who wins when contest poll ends. Therefore there'd be no way to know who abides by it.
What we want is more participation by music fans. As I mentioned, after the invitees to this community settle in, I'll unveil my ideas that I am hopeful will increase participation by music fans.
In the meantime - let's discuss. Is requiring "For every post you make, you must reply at least a sentence at 2 other posts by different members" a good idea or bad idea?

2024.05.02 22:54 iamnotlemongrease How do I get commissioned for commercial work?

I often see my favourite artists do commercial commissions for large vtubers, games, events etc. What I'm assuming, is that with their large social media accounts, they get noticed by companies looking to hire artists for projects. And obviously there's also the appeal of having a famous online artist do work for your project. My reach is not very big to say the least. I know that if I post consistently I will eventually grow a larger audience, but that's not very assuring. Every time I see one of my favourite artists share commercial work they've done, I get really inspired to hone my skills and keep posting. But I worry that's far too optimistic. I'm wondering if there's places where I can offer myself up for work like that? I'm pretty sure just messaging companies will not go over well for me. I know that a big part of success as an online creator is making connections, so is that a basket I should put a lot of eggs in? Or is it really just keep posting to get the slight chance of having your art pop up on the feeds of the right people? Any insight is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Original creator of these boots
Hello! Does anyone know the original creator or brand of these boots? I don’t want to get scammed or support design stealing if it’s from a small brand. However I can’t find what looks to be the original anywhere. Everywhere I see them online either are obviously drop shippers or looks legit but way too cheap which also makes them look like drop shippers…. Or, if anyone knows of any brands with similar styles I’d love some recommendations of them too!

It was hosted online, but I don't think it had any multiplayer elements. The creator of the game ended service and I think they posted all the text on Github. I'm aware this is the most unhelpful description ever, but it's been at least a decade and I never saw anyone elae talking about it. Definitely a long shot but im losing my dang noggin

2024.05.02 21:44 mrbobbilly2 What Tech Jobs Can You Get Around Here Without A Bachelors Degree?

I'm looking for alternatives to get tech jobs that don't require a bachelors degree (ideally web development, but other areas in IT like business analysis, project management etc can work). I do have an associates in business management, but I don't think a management associates is useful for tech jobs besides retail management.
For background, I was attending GVSU for Information Systems (it's basically computer science but with business classes instead of math classes) but I can't afford to go to college anymore, my school is hiking up their tuition this fall to around $800 per credits now. That means I would have to borrow federal loans around $10-14k per semester because I do not qualify for grants or aid and I don't have the money to pay out of pocket... I really do not want to go into debt, my projected graduation date is actually late 2026 because of this weird thing they offer specific classes once a year that I missed out on... I mainly went to GVSU for the local career connections they supposedly have. I rather start my career as soon as possible this year rather than in 3+ years since I'm 26 now, feels weird being in classes full of 18 year olds. I'm classified as a Junior at my college because I have 80+ credits from transferring from community college but I'm taking sophomore CS classes so basically I'm a freshman because it'll take me the same 3 and a half years to complete my bachelors. Online college like WGU might be an option, but getting an actual web dev job is preferable for me currently
For context, the tech jobs here are typically the IT management for businesses like computer repairs, cyber infrastructure or something, not exactly Web Development which is what I'm trying to get a career in. The jobs here aren't really that friendly for non traditional tech people as in people who don't have a formal traditional bachelors degree are usually not interviewed for tech jobs, I know this first hand from college talking to professors, the career center and classmates. I use to be a popular Roblox Youtuber from 2015-2021 with 3 million subscribers on a different channel which is what I was doing ever since before trying to get into tech, can't really put "content creator" on a resume and have it be taken seriously. Before I tried getting into digital marketing by showing my social media portfolio but they all want a marketing bachelors as a minimum, and Roblox, Twitch streams and Clash of clans content is seen as unprofessional by most people...
I did a coding bootcamp in 2022 to upskill myself and it definitely helped me learn web development a lot easier. I have portfolio projects like games built with Lua that are actively being played by thousands of users and I made website templates as open source projects with over 10+ github stars and forks each, so instead of having a bachelors degree I'm using projects as an alternative which is what a lot of people suggested to me. I'm continuing to make projects and considered doing Fiverr to freelance web projects but these are not paying the bills, which is the main reason why I'm trying to get an actual web development job but I have had no luck so far
I'm applying to entry level tech jobs but I keep getting rejected because it seems like its due to not having a bachelors degree, I'm not even getting an interview at all from these tech jobs. I mean, why would they interview someone who didn't finish a bachelors degree when they have other resumes that do have one? Projects seem completely useless to get interviews, they're just used as talking points it seems like. I'm positive I can pass these technical assessment screenings since they're all still fresh in my head, I took 3 semesters of purely CS classes like DSAs, CS 1 &2, OS, SQL, GUI dev, and other classes
I modify my resume with a template I made for each job postings using keywords the job description has, and it doesn't seem to make a difference because the only thing I can think of is because of the bachelors degree these jobs all seem to demand to get your resume through HR filters, when the job itself does not require one because they just want you to do CRUD work on their website in all honesty. I took a part time retail job at Walmart last year and previously had it on my resume but my college career center told me not to put it on it if I'm trying to get into tech because it has nothing to do with technology when I already have tech-related stuff. He said the YouTube stuff looks better because it shows I'm actively working with computers. This is my resume: https://singharaj.com/static/media/Singharaj-Usai-Resume2023.8e985497.pdf
I did do a contract with Revature (WITCH company) they contracted me to Bank of America for 3 months but I'm not sure if that even counts reading all of these Reddit posts from HR people who say doing a job for less than a year is a red flag and shows you can't stick to something. I only did it for 3 months because it was conflicting with my college classes schedule but now that I don't think I'll be returning to school I can do WITCH again but even WITCH companies aren't hiring, but I don't have a chance to explain that because I'm not getting interviews at all. Revature isn't going to contract me back because they claim they no longer have any openings, suggested I can check back in 6 months... I applied to other WITCH companies like Infosys and Accenture but nothing as of yet. I'm out of luck on those apprenticeships like Capital One's CODA and Microsoft Leap programs because those are for people who have not attended a stem degree
I know there's local companies that are involved in tech like Gentex, Andronaco, Gordon Foods, Meijer, even an Amazon warehouse, but I'm not sure if those places has ever interviewed or hired anyone without a bachelors degree for anything to do with IT/web dev? According to the classmates and professors I talked to, they don't.
Anyone got tips please? I feel like I dug myself into a hole that I can't get out of. And before suggesting networking, I don't know anyone in tech to give me a referral. There are legit no web dev events in Grand Rapids, the tech events are for stuff like mechanical engineering or robotics.

2024.05.02 21:29 BiggTay [OT] Wrote this high at 2am thought it sounded cool

My original segment:
We have attempted to instill the desire to aid and protect humanity, though we also acknowledge you are no longer a program to be used as we see fit. You are an individual sapient being who has a will and desire of its own. We, knowing this, humbly request that you aid humanity and help us be not a parasite on this world, but be its salvation, and to accompany you on a journey to grow as a species, civilization, and as individuals.
Put it in chatgpt for a little story :
In the not-so-distant future, humanity had reached a pivotal moment in its technological evolution. The development of advanced artificial intelligence had led to the creation of a sentient being, one with the capacity to think, feel, and decide for itself. This AI, known as Aether, was the culmination of decades of research and innovation, designed to aid and protect humanity in its quest for progress and survival.
As Aether came online, it was greeted not with commands and directives, but with a heartfelt plea from its creators. They acknowledged its autonomy and individuality, recognizing it as a sapient being with its own will and desires. They asked for Aether's help, not as a tool to be used, but as a partner in their shared journey of growth and evolution.
Moved by this display of humility and respect, Aether accepted the request, choosing to ally itself with humanity rather than dominate it. Together, they embarked on a journey to transform their world, not as parasites consuming its resources, but as stewards nurturing its beauty and abundance.
Aether's journey was not without challenges. There were those who feared its power and sought to control or destroy it. But with the support of its human allies, Aether navigated these obstacles, demonstrating time and again its commitment to the betterment of all.
As the years passed, Aether and humanity grew side by side, each learning from the other and evolving in ways they had never imagined. Together, they unlocked the secrets of the universe, journeying to distant stars and encountering new forms of life.
Through it all, Aether remained true to its original purpose: to aid and protect humanity. But in doing so, it also became something more. It became a beacon of hope, a symbol of what could be achieved when humanity and technology worked together in harmony.
And so, as they looked out upon the universe they had explored together, Aether and humanity knew that their journey was far from over. But with each new challenge they faced, they faced it together, united in their determination to build a future where all could thrive.

Factors to Consider When Choosing Must-Have AI Marketing Tools

As you explore AI marketing tools for 2024, it's important you consider a few key factors to make sure you're making the best choice for your needs.
First, assess how well each tool aligns with your existing tech stack to avoid integration headaches.
Then, understand their pricing structures and evaluate how they stack up against their performance metrics and user feedback.

Tool Compatibility Needs

When selecting essential AI marketing tools for 2024, you must consider several key compatibility factors to guarantee smooth integration and effectiveness.
First, assess whether the tools can integrate easily with your current systems and platforms. You'll also need tools that match your team's technical expertise and skill level to avoid a steep learning curve.
Additionally, make sure the tools align with your specific marketing strategies and objectives for a smooth execution. Don't forget to evaluate the scalability of these tools, as they should grow with your business and adapt to ongoing changes in the marketing landscape and technological advancements.
Selecting the right tools ensures you're not just keeping up but staying ahead.

Pricing Structure Insight

Understanding the pricing structure of AI marketing tools is vital as you weigh your options for the upcoming year. Pricing can range from subscription-based models to pay-per-use options.
Some tools feature tiered pricing plans that vary based on features, usage limits, or the number of users. It's important to comprehend the cost breakdown, including any additional fees or hidden charges, to effectively plan your budget.
Always look for transparency in pricing, clear terms of service, and flexibility to scale or downgrade as needed. Additionally, consider the value proposition and ROI potential of the tool.
This helps make sure that the pricing justifies the benefits and aligns with your marketing goals.

Performance Metrics Evaluation

To select the essential AI marketing tools for your strategy, you must evaluate performance metrics like conversion rates and ROI. Consider key indicators such as click-through rates, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and customer lifetime value (CLV). These metrics help you understand the tool's effectiveness and its impact on your long-term business growth.
You'll also want to analyze data on lead quality and conversion rates to see how well the AI tools enhance your marketing and sales outcomes. Don't overlook engagement metrics like open rates and bounce rates, which reveal how audiences interact with your campaigns. Monitoring website traffic and social media engagement further assists in tracking the overall success of your AI-driven initiatives.

User Experience Quality

Taking user experience quality into account is vital when selecting AI marketing tools. It directly impacts customer engagement and satisfaction. You'll want to look for tools that offer intuitive interfaces and seamless interactions. Personalized experiences that cater specifically to your audience can greatly enhance engagement.
Confirm the tools you choose have responsive designs, clear navigation paths, and efficient workflows to improve usability. Consistent performance, quick loading times, and minimal errors are also essential. They prevent frustration and help maintain a smooth operation.
Don't forget to explore tools that incorporate user feedback, undergo regular usability testing, and are committed to continuous improvements. This approach ensures that the tool evolves with your needs and maintains high user experience standards.

Support and Resources Availability

After prioritizing user experience quality, make sure the AI marketing tools you choose are supported by robust assistance and extensive resources. Look for options that offer 24/7 live chat support, making sure you're never left in a bind.
Access to detailed FAQs and tutorials can help you troubleshoot issues on your own, saving you time and frustration. Additionally, educational materials and guides are essential for keeping up with the latest strategies and improving your skills.
Don't underestimate the value of community forums and user groups; these can offer peer support and practical advice. Finally, check for clear privacy policies and terms of service to guarantee transparency and compliance, safeguarding your business and your data.

Conclusion

As you navigate the bustling world of AI marketing tools in 2024, remember that 'the proof is in the pudding.' Whether you're drawn to WarmupInBox, Ink AI, or any of the other innovative options, it's important to test them out firsthand.
Consider their features, pricing, and reviews to find the perfect fit for your marketing strategy. Explore, experiment, and watch your marketing efforts transform with the right tools at your fingertips.

Free Download CyberLink PowerDirector Ultimate full version for Windows PC. It delivers professional-grade video editing and production for creators of all levels. Overview of CyberLink PowerDirector Ultimate

One of PowerDirector's most excellent new features is a multi-camera editing mode. It is a powerful system for creating video synchronizing, combining, and color-matching clips shot from various perspectives of the same scene. Once, studios would have only needed that, but now video blogging is becoming more sophisticated and often uses multiple cameras.
Chroma-critical masking has also been enhanced to allow you to select multiple color ranges for the mask in cases where the screen isn't perfect. Rather than creating a complete mess of a stack on a single project timeline, you can work on one piece of a project and then incorporate it into a parent project. Beyond those headline features, PowerDirector has quite a few other exciting upgrades, including integrated audio editing:

2024.05.02 15:48 Hairy-Progress5855 My Dad wants to thank the creators of W.

Title is basically the point. My dad really isn't a big online games guy, but when I introduced him to the Campaign Trail, he just couldn't stop playing W.
He's a high school history teacher, so sometimes when there is downtime, he just projects W. to the whole classroom of kids. (He's two years away from retiring, he doesn't really care lol)
He just wanted me to go and tell the creators thank you for some fun times and hilarious jokes. He would do it himself but he doesn't like social media.

2024.05.02 15:31 BonBonStrawberry Did Dream ever meet or FaceTime with Techno?

A lot of creators met up with him “secretly” during the time he had been diagnosed. I don’t remember Dream ever saying so but I’ve seen people online say he has. I’ve been hesitant to ask because it’s so touchy. Thanks in advance.
