Warding PSA
I know a lot of console players have flooded the player base significantly tanking the average skill level but there really is no excuse to not drop wards if you are running them. I just played a game and we were competing well with lanes, fangtooth and kills for most of the game but due largely to lack of map awareness and no ward placing we were caught out too many times by jungler and later the rest of the enemy team and went on to lose the game after a 4 man wipe. Please place wards. Even in lanes if you’re getting from mid to late game where the towers become fewer and further between.

2024.05.17 12:21 JChad68 Evicted over dog

Hi,
I'm in Ontario and my neighbor is being threatened with eviction over getting a puppy. My understanding is she can't be evicted, but does she have any options?
Landlord e-mail:
I am well versed in the Residential Tenancies Act (2006) and its rules surrounding pets in rental accommodations. While pets cannot be generally prohibited from rental properties in Ontario, their owners can face eviction proceedings for allowing their pets to interfere with the reasonable enjoyment of others and the Landlord's right of entry.
The following is also included in the lease agreement that you signed: "Pets xxvi. The Tenant agrees to not allow pets in the common areas. Any exception must be approved by the Landlord. The tenant agrees not to allow pets in shared units unless all other tenants in that shared unit agrees to allow such pet. Landlord may restrict certain types of pet based on allergic reactions that would affect the reasonable enjoyment of the community."
Your dog relieving itself in the common area kitchen, and it's presence there alone, constitutes interfering with the reasonable enjoyment of the community because other residents shouldn't need to fear entering this space because an unattended dog is present and shouldn't need to be concerned about falling ill when preparing food because a dog has contaminated the area with fecal matter.
Our staff, as the Landlord's agents, have the right to enter the kitchen and adjoining balcony without a dog present. When an animal is unattended we have no way of knowing if it is unfriendly and cannot put ourselves at risk during the course of our work. Maintenance staff may also need to access your suite in emergencies, and cannot do so if there is a dog present. For example, if a water leak was found to be coming from your bathroom and we aren't able to access your suite to shut off the water, you would be responsible for the cost of remediation and replacing the belongings of other tenants because the dog prevented us from carrying out our duties.
Keeping a long-haired dog also requires that any common areas the dog passes through receive additional cleaning, beyond what is considered reasonable and included in your lease.
Going forward and until this issue is resolved, all costs associated with additional cleaning or staff time wasted due to not being able to complete their work because of the presence of the dog will be billed back to you. Please also note that, as outlined above, the dog does not have the right to be in any areas besides your personal suite and must be kept leashed and under your control at all times when entering or exiting the building. The dog is not to enter the kitchen, balcony, or any parts of the basement under any circumstances. When entering or exiting the building with the dog, you must proceed directly to the exterior door or your suite and not stop anywhere in the hallways while the dog is present.
You must also immediately provide a tenant's insurance certificate indicating that the dog, and any damage it may cause to other residents or their belongings, is covered under your policy. The deadline for providing proof of adequate insurance is Monday May 20, 2024 at end of day.
For the reasons described above, it is in your best interest to seek alternative accommodations should you wish to keep the dog. I am prepared to sign an N11 Agreement to End the Tenancy with you to help facilitate this process, end your lease on good terms so we can provide a positive landlord reference and allow us to return any unused deposits. This offer will stand until May 31, 2024.
Should the dog remain after June 1, 2024 and you not have a confirmed, verifiable plan in place to move or rehome/surrender the dog that same month, we will have no choice but to file for an eviction with the Landlord & Tenant Board which will cause you to incur additional filing fees and attend a hearing before the tribunal. Reviewing LTB hearing outcomes from recent years regarding similar cases indicates that your chances of winning the right to keep the dog and remain a tenant at Osgoode are slim to none

2024.05.17 12:20 qa_lim samsung smart things find won't be much help if you lost a device

i was so saddened today. my samsung a345g just got stolen yesterday. right upon noticing that it was lost, i immediately went to review the cctv all while tracking my lost phone through samrtthingsfind website. the cctv showed that my phone was intentionally taken from where i was by an unknown man. (i was by the road outside my office) the tracker located it about 10 kms from where i was. that phone was logged in with my accounts in samsung, google and microsoft. i was monitoring location of my phone the whole night, checking about every 30 mins but it never showed a new location. i assumed that the thief might not have turned on the internet connection or the gps or the phone itself. this morning, i took a leave from work just to buy a new phone of the same unit as i was already got used to the interface. now, i have a new phone. i then logged in my accounts then i had the idea to try the smartthingsfind in this new phone to see how it works, but i was so disappointed. it requires the unit to be turned on both the internet connection and location for it to be detected and if the phone was not detected for atleast 15 mins then this new location will be erased from its location track record. i tried locating this new unit and it was detected but after i turned off the data and the gps, the tracker now just only showed its location record from 20 minutes ago.
to be clear, here is the outcome of my test. 1:00 pm - phone was with me, connected to gps and wifi. it showed into the smartthingsfind. 1:05 pm - turned off location, kept wifi on. no longer detected by smartthingsfind. only showed the last location detected 12:40 1:10 pm - put phone about 15 meters away from my pc. connected to gps and wifi. detected by smartthingsfind realtime location 1:13 pm. 1:15 pm - went back to my phone, turned off wifi and gps. 1:20 pm - cheked smartthingsfind.it only showed the location it was on 12:40 pm.
it was so depressing for someone who is trying to locate a phone with this app since it only gives false hope. i was really hoping that my samsung account was the only chance for me to retrieve that phone but now that hope was lost. identifying the thief was even more a harder task since the footage was unclear and the other buildings by the road does not have a clear cctv pointing to that man's direction. guess i'll just have to be very careful this time as it was already my third time losing a phone that contains a lot of valuables.

2024.05.17 12:18 lavanyadeepak Not sure if we can classify it as Neglighence of Duty/Errors of Omission and Commission/Indifference to Citizen Complaints by Bengaluru City Police Stations

We recently witnessed an incident involving ACP office of Kengeri callously handling an incident regarding women safety. A similar kind of indifferent attitude was confronted with the office ofACP BANASWADI on 16th January 2024. I received around 9 calls from the below-said number +91 80 2294 2147 between 14.06 to 14.43. The caller had difficulty in communicating anything other than Kannada. Though I was able to hear him clearly and also did not perceive noise disruptions either from their side or my side not sure why the caller felt the audio was not clear for him. My phone is configured to record the calls for quick review through Transcription and AI research besides to help in case of disconnections alongside to abate spam (UCC) and scam.. Total Call Attempts: 9 Missed/Dropped: 3 Received/Recorded: 6 In one of the call we could momentarily touch upon the topic of the call regarding the previous complaint I made several months ago regarding a scammer pretending to be from a non-existent Horamavu police station. I had done my research through Bangalore discussion forums to confirm it is indeed a spam and based on the same gave a tip-off to IPGRS that time itself. The original incident (root of the interactions) is as below.
I have been receiving a bunch of sub-minute calls from +91 95992 30065 between 15.19 and 15.20 on September 2023. All of them were no voice transmissions from the caller. Additionally the Hello was not reciprocated making one feel like an autodial-agent/recorded call. A few minutes later a threat-tainted message originated from the number. The response filed after a few days on IPGRS is as below. Interestingly other than the spurt of calls on January, there was no such update to me from the investigation team. The big question is that the number which threatened seemed to have mentioned they do not know about this. And the LawEnforcement has believed the same without verifying their CDR from the telephone company.
Shouldn't we consider this too as an act of Omission and #ommission or Negligence of Duty? Hence I had reported about this shoddy investigation (vide 97951) and escalated back to IPGRS vide 147245 And this one seems to have got assigned to Sarjapura Police Station and the response from them was to transfer to Department of Administrative Reforms (CPGRS) citing it is applicable to Government of India and not them.
Incidentally we can not check the progress of complaints without knowing which mobile number and/or email address was used to register the same on PgPortal. A comprehensive narration of the post with pertinent exhibits have been shared on X (erstwhile Twitter) with Bengaluru Law Enforcement over here.

2024.05.17 12:12 Diligent_Eye1248 Looking for the Best Entry-Level E-Scooter – Recommendations?

Hey everyone,
I'm new to electric scooters and looking to buy my first one. I could really use some recommendations on the best entry-level e-scooters out there. My budget is ideally under $500, but I can stretch a bit if it's really worth it.
I'm hoping for something that can go at least 10-15 miles on a single charge and has a top speed of around 15-20 mph. I live in an apartment, so it would be awesome if it’s lightweight and easy to fold and store. Durability is also key since I plan to use it daily, and safety features like I've noticed a lot of mentions of turboant lately, and there seems to be some debate about the brand. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts and reviews about it, especially if there are positive aspects worth considering.
Thanks in advance for your help!

2024.05.17 12:10 Fluffy-Entertainer89 Thoughts on photo editing monitor

Hello ! I'm interested in buying a monitor with good sRGB represantation, since i'm also into printing i would prefer good ARGB too... 4K , 27-32" Display, IPS , dont like the oled burn in results... Firstly i searched for true 10bit displays (like SW272U(1600€) / U3224KB (2k+€)/ PA27UCXK(~2k€)/ i also considered the Mac studio display since it's 5k and almost have around 75% more pixel(i'm a windows user-found that i might have problems with this one) / Viewsonic VP2786 (The cheapest 10bit for around 1.1k€ and comes also with a color pro wheel calibrator,)/ SOME EIZOS *etc
* Color edge CS2740/ CG 2700X
Then i started wondering if the new 8bit+FRC displays worth trying... and from my research FRC nowadays works almost perfect. So i tried to find the cheapest 8bit+frc display to get a point of the $$$ we'll start. Found Dell U2723QE(450 €)/ Acer Nitro XV275K p3biipruzx (800€)**/ Lenovo thinkvision p27u-20 (460€) / Asus pro art pa 279crv (660€) **this is a gaming monitor but rtings.com has it top 1 on the list
So around 450 is the Lenovo/Dell and then its going up from there . Dell has bad angle of view and bad semigloss coating(bad reflections), Local dimming is straight up awful and it has pretty bad bleeding too...
Lenovo has some bad electric whirring and buzzing sounds , bad menu orientation , speakers are bad. I guess at this price range i will have many drawbacks , No other reviews for color represantation...
But i will also need a calibrator, something like i1 Display Pro which in my country at the moment sells for 300€, So we are at 800€ minimum....(if i dont find another calibrator). There are true 10bit for 1.1k and above (some of them include calibrator) . The most expensive one is the CG2700X . What's your thoughts?

I want to open small discussion to make windtrace better with having united position for latter review.
While there are some other problems (like boring ultimate for Rebels), I think Hunter's LC abilities should be absolutely reworked.

It's been a journey. We started beginning of August 2023 with Integrate Sun, 36 410w SE panels for about 13kw,, 10kw Sol-Ark Inverter, LP4 EG4 battery/chassis for 32kWh storage. We were told 4-6 weeks to get everything designed, 2-3 months to get everything installed. 58K including a 3k electrical panel upgrade (so 55k as you'll see later). For the FTR: Mid-georgia, 2700 SQ ft 5 bed 3.5 bath that's north facingwith a perfect, flat, unshaded back roof.
October hit and we started contacting them regular, November things are finally being ordered (they weren't taking to our energy company, nothing was moving.) Then they couldn't get the 10kw inverter would a 15kw be okay no charge? And now we're having problems getting the panels, would these other larger panels be okay? Okay. Then nothing, then our project manager gets replaced.
New manager is not up to speed, finally gets stuff ordered, still having problems with the battery getting sourced. Finally everything is here may and install is scheduled. Nope, they don't have everything and no electrical panel but we don't need a upgrade? Okay, $3k back right? Nope, new PM says that was for solar panel upgrade. Digging out optional project slideshow to make prove it.
Okay last things showed up, but battery isn't talking. They "get everything working" but we night need a battery controller between our LP EG4 and the Sol-Ark 15kw.
Week goes by, no battery working. I crack open the manual and the inverter and there's no Ethernet cable at all connected to the canBUS, the battery breaker is down, and the CTs are on the load side of the inverter not the grid (asked questions about that here too)
Anyways, got the battery working, got power limited and TOU set to things I think I can understand, everything looks great yesterday... Until we screwed around with the AC and decided to make the house 2 degrees cooler. Everything kicks on and around 1730 the battery stops covering at all.
It should have still been putting out max numbers but it looks like the heavy draw made the Internet default to grid. Battery never picked back up, I'm still on grid this morning. What have I gotten blindsided by? Amp draw? Do I need to flick breakers or trun things off and on again? I think I'm everything into the basic day-to-day troubleshooting

Fully Explained: Star Cards for Blaster Heroes (Part III)
To celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of the Phantom Menace this 19th of May, I decided to go all out on discovering the hidden effects or poorly described star cards in this game based on the plentiful resources and posts of the past (References are found at the end). At the same time, I did what I could to rewrite the ability and card descriptions to be somewhat unilateral and have similar explanations. Many were a surprise to be sure but a welcome one, while others are completely out of hand. Use what’s useful to you, and feel free to share your own test results. At last we will reveal these stats to all, at last…

NOTES
· The EPIC rarity is only stated in the card description if it is a different value than shown in-game.
· All Star Card descriptions were rewritten to be unilateral and have similar explanations. The names of heroes and second-person pronouns were avoided.
· Clearer antonyms are used: increased/decreased; extended/reduced.
o Increase/decrease suggests a progression in size, amount, or numbers (like adding/subtracting health, damage, stamina drain, and sprint speed).
o Extend/reduce suggests a change made to a value or number (like percentages for time, distance, and blaster heat).
· Damage Reduction is received; health points are regained.
· To avoid confusion, the term increased cooldown speed and increased recharge time (which uses percentage increased) is avoided. To keep all related effects as close in description as possible: extended/reduced cooldown time (still percentage) is the simplest way to describe the effect without changing the in-game number values.
· Extra damage is damage added to ability; bonus damage is situational.
· Some values were rounded to whole numbers to reflect in-game values. Such are health points, damage points, and blaster overheat. As a result, though noticeably small, the actual values in-game may be a little off when it comes to stacked values (like stacking damage reduction) and are yet to be tested.
· Some stats between the BF2 wiki and SammyBoiii’s Hero Guides differ in stats; however, they agree for the most part and usually differ by units less than a second.
· Feel free to pick any hero and test out the stats yourself. The more accurate stats we have, the better we can use them.
· Question Marks are unknown values. If you happen to know them or calculate the value, feel free to share them. Video proof seems to always work best.
· I personally feel that being open to the intricacies of every star card and ability is the best way to go and should not be considered an exploit. Everyone should know what’s happening when the enemy team starts using these game-changers (and there are many people who do), and best enabling them to learn how to counter it. In the end, understanding these little details leads to a more competitive and playable battlefront.
· Although not too often, some of the supposed up-to-date references below contradict each other; I had to make a final choice without having the time to test them.
· Getting all these stats was a hard-earned headache in the end. Feel free to correct any discrepancies you may find!

2024.05.17 11:50 FrozenTuna69 Bought a ASUS ROG STRIX G16 (2023), and the battery is not quite like they said

So besides the fact that there is a slight "coil whine", I bought the said laptop couple of days ago and every reviewer said the battery lasts 5 hours when just watching youtube videos and web-browsing, but even when I close all other programs besides chrome, windows says the projected battery time is 1 hour 20 at most (on full charge of course). I also must mention is when the laptop on "silent" mode the projection doesn't vary much.

Fully Explained: Star Cards for Lightsaber & Force Heroes (Part II)
To celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of the Phantom Menace this 19th of May, I decided to go all out on discovering the hidden effects or poorly described star cards in this game based on the plentiful resources and posts of the past (References are found at the end). At the same time, I did what I could to rewrite the ability and card descriptions to be somewhat unilateral and have similar explanations. Many were a surprise to be sure but a welcome one, while others are completely out of hand. Use what’s useful to you, and feel free to share your own test results.

2024.05.17 11:42 killsfercake I have two offers need help deciding

Keep it short and simple
Job 1: Government ( State of Florida ) / 45 min commute / IT help desk II ( I have 10 years experience in IT so this position is below my expectations) / salary js 50ish / 14 days PTO + 12 sick days / Pays for schooling / Decent Pension program ( only pays well after 20-30 years in government position ) / Good healthcare / Team seems nice / Unsure of upward mobility for promotion’s - LinkedIn search shows guys above me being there 8-9 years same positions meaning they are not getting promoted nor are they leaving.
Job 2 : Private High School / 10 Min commute / IT Support ( similar position ) / Personal connection with CIO and would promote me if spots open up / salary is same as Job 1 ( It’s like $1000 difference over the whole year ) / Small School so small team to support and small team to work with / 2 Weeks off Christmas > New Years + 4 weeks PTO + 1 week spring break off + in summers only work Monday-Thursday / 401k matching 3% I believe / Health insurance unknown but seems decent from Glassdoor reviews / Role itself is technically entry but small team so everyone works on everything so lots hands on with higher skill based work / New building opening in 1 year that is all tech based for students so potentially promotion relatively quickly.
TLDR Similar Pay / Role for both
Job 1: Government / Better Benefits / Less Time off / Further Away / Bigger Environment
Job 2 : Private HS / Decent Benefits / More time off / Closer to home / Small Environment and Team

2024.05.17 11:39 Fluffy-Entertainer89 Thoughts on monitor for photo/video editing

* Color edge CS2740/ CG 2700X

2024.05.17 11:36 DharmaBratt108 DralaMountainCenter

i spoke with a friend this morning who is still working at Drala Mountain Center in CO. sounds like this place is going down quickly. i worked there for years as well...stuck with them through all their covid challenges, the fire, sunshine report, bankruptcy, and they fired me last year without so much a warning or cause. my friend said about 20 employees have left in the last 2 months and they are left with only 15 or so employees now. no volunteers are showing up due to the recent reviews and same with new employees. and today starts their busy season where they will have hundreds of participants on the land for the next six months. apparently with dhi and all other directors/managers gone now their staff meetings are with the governing council. sounds like they are a joke and highly abusive to the little staff they have left. threatening the staff that because they are burned out they better not scare off new employees. qnd apparently told all the staff they need to pick up the slack and get through the busy season since its their fault they cant hire new employees. sounds like all the current staff are working 80+ hour weeks trying to keep this place goin. iwas trying to find out who they are hiring as the new executive director and the council doesnt even have a backup person planned. im guessin with their money situation they cant even afford one at this point. im worried and sad for everyone there even though I dont know many people left, seems like all current employees havent been there very long. they said staff members are breaking down left and right, crying in meetings, theyve heard some expressing suicidal intentions. apparently recent participants and retreats have made comments about the staff looking like ghosts and having horrible experiences when they are on the land. governing council has no game plan for how to get through this other than torturing the staff thats left. ihope people find a way out of there. this shit hole deserves to go down. cant be to much longer with no staff and no money and hundreds of participants about to see it all. just hope no one hurts themselves or someone else while this goes down. warn others in the area not to support this place. a local news station in Foco needs to pick this story up and blast it all over. truth needs to be heard

2024.05.17 11:31 jessica_Ellen How to Choose Life Insurance: A Personal Guide to Safeguarding Your Future?

How to Choose Life Insurance: A Personal Guide to Safeguarding Your Future?
Selecting the right life insurance policy isn't just a financial decision; it's a choice that affects the future well-being of your loved ones.
With a range of options like term life insurance, whole life insurance, universal life insurance, and other forms of permanent life insurance, navigating through your choices can feel overwhelming.
This guide will help you understand the key types of life insurance and give you the insights you need to make an informed, personalized decision.

Understand Your Needs and Goals

Before diving into the various types of life insurance, it’s important to reflect on why you’re considering a policy in the first place. Ask yourself-
  • What are my financial goals? Are you looking to provide for your family in the event of your unexpected death, save for retirement, or perhaps leave a legacy?
  • Who depends on me financially? Consider your family members, dependents, or even business partners who would be impacted by your sudden absence.
  • How long will I need coverage? Your time horizon is crucial in determining whether term life insurance or some form of permanent life insurance is the best fit for you.

Exploring the Types of Life Insurance?

  1. Term Life Insurance
Term life insurance is like renting an apartment. It’s there for you for a specific period (the term), providing straightforward, no-frills coverage. Here’s what you need to know-
  • Duration- Term life policies are typically available in terms from 10 to 30 years.
  • Cost- This is usually the most affordable type of life insurance, with premiums that remain the same throughout the term.
  • Best For- Those who need coverage to protect things like a mortgage or educational expenses for children, or who are looking for a cost-effective way to ensure financial stability for their dependents during crucial years.
  1. Whole Life Insurance
Whole life insurance is part of the permanent life insurance family, but with a twist — it includes a savings component. Here’s the scoop-
  • Duration- It covers you for your entire life, as long as premiums are paid.
  • Cash Value- Part of your premium goes into a cash value account, which grows over time and can be borrowed against.
  • Cost- More expensive than term life because of the lifelong coverage and cash value component.
  • Best For- Those looking for coverage that lasts a lifetime and grows cash value, which can be a part of your long-term financial strategy.
  1. Universal Life Insurance
Universal life insurance is another type of permanent life insurance with added flexibility. Here’s what makes it different-
  • Flexible Premiums and Coverage- You can adjust your premiums and death benefits within certain limits based on your changing needs.
  • Cash Value- Like whole life, universal life has a cash value component that grows based on the interest rate set by the insurer.
  • Cost- This can vary widely based on how the policy is structured but typically more affordable than a whole life with similar benefits.
  • Best For- Those who value flexibility and want the ability to adjust their policy as their financial circumstances change.

How to Choose the Right Policy?

1. Assess Your Financial Situation- Understand your current and future financial obligations. How much debt do you have? What future expenses need to be covered?
2. Determine the Coverage Amount- A general rule of thumb is 10-15 times your annual income, but consider your specific circumstances.
3. Consider the Long-Term- How might your needs change over the years? Does the flexibility of a universal life insurance policy make sense, or is the certainty of whole life insurance more appealing?
4. Get Quotes and Compare- Look at different insurers. What are the premiums, benefits, and features of their policies? How do they match your needs?
5. Consult with a Financial Advisor- A professional can offer personalized advice based on your financial goals and help you navigate the complexities of life insurance.
6. Review Regularly- Your life insurance needs will change over time. Regular reviews will help ensure your policy still fits your needs.
Conclusion
Choosing the right life insurance policy — whether it’s term, whole, or universal life insurance— means balancing your immediate needs with your long-term goals.
By understanding the different types of life insurance available and how they align with your financial strategy, you can make an informed decision that will provide peace of mind and financial security for your loved ones.
Picture your life 10, 20, or even 30 years from now. What does it look like? Who are you with? What are you most proud of having achieved? Your life insurance choice is a key part of making that vision a reality.
