2024.05.17 03:47 I_Am_Destructorrrr Brake job issues.

Brake job issues.
Doing a front brake job on my 2012 f-150 XLT 2wd. New rotors, caliper, and pads. We got the passenger side done and a-ok. The driver side is having a problem. The outside pad is dragging on the rotor edge. We thought it was a failing caliper so we got another one but still seeing the same problem. I’m thinking it might be a outta spec rotor as that is the last variable. Has anyone seen this before? Or have other Insight before I dig back into it. Thank you.

2024.05.17 01:45 kayakero Most successful traders of all time (part 1)

The success of traders is not always easy, since there are hundreds of losses behind. Their lives are marked by both triumph and drama and surrounded by money, speculation and fortune.
We prepared a list of the most famous market makers, including legendary traders in history and modern day traders. Learning from mistakes, thinking ahead and being flexible has helped them become successful traders. Keep reading this article to be inspired by their great feats.

1. George Soros

George Soros, alias "the man who broke the Bank of England," was born in 1930 in Hungary. Being Jewish, he survived the Holocaust and fled the country at the time. He is one of the most popular and famous traders in the world. In England, Soros worked as a waiter or railway porter before graduating from the London School of Economics. This led him into the world of banking when he rose to the position of merchant banker at Singer & Friedlander.
With the help of his father, he moved to the United States to work at a Wall Street brokerage firm. Following his successful results at several firms, George created his hedge fund in 1970, called "Quantum." There he rose to fame.
In 1992, Soros made a huge bet against the British pound and made one billion US dollars in just 24 hours.
Quantum accumulated £3.9bn, and Soros borrowed more to raise a total of £5.5bn. But sterling began to fall. Soros then shorted the £5.5 billion against the German mark on September 16, also known as Black Wednesday. This contributed to the fall in the price of the currency and forced the United Kingdom to leave the European Exchange Rate Mechanism.
The result was one of the fastest billion dollars anyone has ever made and one of the most famous trades in history, which later became known as “the Bank of England collapse.”

2. Jesse Livermore

Jesse Livermore's life could serve as the basis for a movie story. Born in 1877, he was destined to be a farmer, but ran away from home to become a multimillionaire. His story is wrapped up in money, lovers, bankruptcy and scandals.
At a young age, Jesse Livermore learned to read and write, became interested in news and economics, and learned to analyze prices. With experience, he mastered detecting trend reversals and popularized modern technical analysis. Livermore was one of the first to use stop losses, a risk management tool that traders still use today.
Jesse made his first $250,000 selling stocks just before the San Francisco earthquake. In 1925, he made US$3 million by shorting wheat. He then made about $100,000 in profits by short-selling American stocks before they crashed in 1929. One of the richest and most successful traders of his time, Jesse earned the nickname “The Gambling Boy.” .
However, Jesse went through several bankruptcies. He managed to get back on the market in the first two cases, but the third bankruptcy was fatal. He made a mistake and lost all his money in 1929.
Combined with family tragedies, stress, and other failures, Jesse Livermore realized he would never be able to operate the same way again. In 1940, he shot himself to death.
By the way, her son Jesse Livermore Jr. fell into the same habits as his mother, who suffered from alcoholism, and took his own life in 1975. This happened while he was drunk, after shooting his beloved dog and trying to shoot a police officer.

3. William Delbert Gann

If you are a trader who practices technical analysis, you have surely heard the name of WD Gann and his trading theory. William Delbert Gann was born in 1878 in Texas, the first of 11 children in a poor family dedicated to growing cotton. He did not finish primary or secondary school because his parents expected him to work on the farm.
Gann believed that the Bible was the best book and obtained most of his education from it. Her writing style is full of mystery, esotericism and an indirect style that many find difficult to follow.
However, Gann created powerful technical analysis tools such as Gann angles, the hexagon, the 360 circle, the 9 square, and many more. Most of them are based on ancient mathematics, geometry, astronomy and astrology, and are widely used by traders today.
Critics claim that there is no real evidence that Gann did not make profits from investments in the market and that he made money selling investment books and courses. It is unclear to what extent WD Gann became rich from his trading analysis, but when he died in the 1950s, his estate was valued at just over US$100,000.
But the amazing thing is that, a hundred years ago, Gann created trading rules, ranging from basic money management principles to mind games, that still apply.

4. Paul Tudor Jones

Paul Tudor Jones is undoubtedly one of the greatest stock market insider traders in history, with an estimated net worth of around US$7.5 billion.
After graduating from the University of Virginia in 1976, Paul began trading cotton futures on the New York Cotton Exchange. As a curious fact, he lost his job because he fell asleep at his desk after a night of partying with his friends. Paul then worked as a commodities broker and, in 1980, he founded his investment and trading company, Tudor Investment Corporation. The fund managed to achieve a 100% return during its first five years, which is a surprising fact for today.
Paul's biggest prediction was the market crash of 1987, known as Black Monday. Thanks to his accurate prediction, Jones made about $100,000 in profit instead of losing money.
Paul Tudor Jones developed his own trading strategy, which helped him be successful. His main rule is to be consistent and not expect quick money. His great risk management skills and realistic expectations of his possible operations allowed him to have a stable income.

5. Jim Rogers

From his youth, Jim Rogers had business acumen selling peanuts and used plastic thrown away by baseball fans. He graduated with honors in History and obtained a second degree in Economics from the University of Oxford. Currently, Rogers' estimated net worth is over 300 million US dollars.
In 1964, Rogers joined Dominick & Dominick, LLC on Wall Street, where he traded stocks and bonds. But from 1966 to 1968, Jim was in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Two years after his military service, Jim joined an investment bank where he met his partner George Soros. In the early 1970s, they co-founded the Quantum Fund, which gained an impressive 4,200% in ten years.
The biggest skill that helped Rogers become a successful trader was his ability to make clear forecasts. In the 1990s, he was right in his bullish forecasts on commodities. Jim has also criticized the inability of the Bank of England and the US Federal Reserve to fight rising inflation, warning that it could worsen before stabilizing.
When he retired, Rogers embarked on a three-year tour of 116 countries in a custom-built Mercedes. He broke the world record for the longest car trip made uninterrupted. He also wrote books detailing his adventures.

Key results from the latest drilling campaign include 3.1 meters at 21.33 g/t Au, including 0.5 meters at 32.74 g/t Au, 9 meters at 6.75 g/t Au, including 0.9 meters at 27.91 g/t Au, and 2.55 meters at 6.08 g/t Au, including 1 meter at 11.08 g/t Au.
The drilling program is strategically designed to focus on the more continuous and higher-grade sections of the Austin, South Austin, and North Austin Zones. This focused exploration effort will continue through 2024, aiming to define near-term mining inventory and expand the current mineral resource, with the goal of restarting gold production at Madsen by 2025.
Today, WRLG announced that it successfully closed its $33 million public offering to fund the ongoing exploration and development of the Madsen Gold Mine. Management and insiders acquired a total of 770,000 units in the offering, displaying WRLG's high internal confidence.

2024.05.17 01:01 missed_abortion 30 F - 7 Year Smoker - How high are my chances of getting COPD?

30 F 155 lbs and 5'5 No medical issues. No medications. No past surgeries. Exercise almost daily (walk/light jogs on occasion). Outdoor person who likes to play outside with my kids.
I was also an on and off smokevaper for 7 years. I vaped for maybe 1 of those 7 years and smoked half a pack a say for 4-5 of those 7 years. I quit often and for several month long periods during that time.
I finally quit for good in March following the death of my uncle. He died from emphysema in his 50s. He was a 30 year pack a day smoker that worked around asbestos.
I don't have a wheeze when I breathe. I don't find myself out of breath doing anything. When i am out of breath or fatigued from exercise, I rebound quick. I sing and have a good range. I don't feel crackles or mucus. I never developed a smokers cough. I rebound quick from illness too. Most mornings I wake up with a chest cold feeling (like lungs feel like ice with tickles and scratches and a dry persistent cough) but that disappears after I start moving around for the day. Otherwise I have no coughing fits or blood in mucus or colored mucus at all.
Today that chest cold feeling didn't go away though. It persisted. I have a dry hacking cough that won't stop. No chest pain. I can take in deep breathes. But my lungs feel itchy and are bringing up a clear pleghm every now and again.
Is it silly to maybe wonder if my 7 on and off years of smoking caused onset breathing issues to some degree? Am I at all a risk for COPD or emphysema myself having quit at a young age and not having smoked for too long? Am I just having an allergy attack brought on by constant heavy rainfall, outside humidity, forced window unit air, and other factors (possibly?)?
I don't know why I'm so anxious about this. I don't normally get this anxious about my health.

2024.05.17 00:21 Lol_u_ded My femur is tearing my acetabular labrum. Two questions within...

I saw a sports med/ortho surgeon yesterday. The office had an X-ray machine, and there are radiologists all over the floor, and the office I used is highly reputable. After the nurse and PA obtained my history, the doctor analyzed my gait did some motion testing. Flexion was uncomfortable, and adduction produced pain and a click. The doctor then went through the X-ray. My femoral head does not fit into the acetabular joint, and there is a convexity in my femur that is destroying the cartilage in my labrum with flexion. MRI-NC showed significant perforation to it. I’ll be getting arthroscopic surgery and my femur will be shaved down. It will be a while until then because I have OSCE on the day I would’ve originally gotten an appointment. I have a couple of questions. Firstly, what modified activity can I do at the gym without further damaging my hip? I’ve ruled out squats, Romanian deadlifts, hamstring curls, and abdominal crunch machine, with the last two exercises being taken off the list today. Secondly, about how long would the recovery be after surgery, and what would the recovery timeline look like? I have a sense of what it is like for a labral tear repair in isolation, but with femoral involvement, I imagine it will take at least 6 months for full recovery. Going to share some relevant medical history below.
HPI: 25M c/o R hip stiffness, pain on flexion and adduction, antalgic gait, and instability. Onset 8 w ago after doing intense Taekwondo after 6 months off. Started as extreme soreness but has progressed since. Tried RICE and Advil w/o improvement. Certain motions aggravate hip. - radiation. Pain a 3/10 on F, 6/10 with added adduction.
PMH: GERD, ADHD, MDD (resolved in 2019)
Allergies: NKA
Surgeries: Rhinoplasty in 2018 (non-cosmetic), foot surgery in 2015 (osteophyte removal)
Meds: 10 mg Adderall XR 1x am QD, 20 mg Pepcid Super Strength 1x am QD, 1 multivitamin am QD
HMH: Sees PCP yearly. Last physical in March. Unremarkable results.
Social History: Lifts 4x weekly for 60-90 m each session. Thought of not working out causes distress. 10 years of competitive Taekwondo and 17 years of training, now discontinued. Eats a high-protein diet. No Hx of tobacco, recreational substances, or substance abuse. Drinks 2 units of alcohol socially upon occasion, last drink in February. Does not consume caffeine.

2024.05.17 00:14 Competitive_Fact6030 Breed recommendation

Introduction
1)Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs? * I have had family dogs all my life, but this would be my first one living on my own. I have reasonable experience with training and owning dogs. I also have a pretty good grasp on puppies as my mother has bred dogs (ugh, i know) 2)Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a [reputable breeder]( http://ownresponsibly.blogspot.com/2011/07/identifying-reputable-breeder.html)? * Likely going to adopt from someone who needs to rehome their dog. Alternatively a breeder. There arent really rescues in my country. I would like avoid adopting a puppy, and instead would prefer a 1-2 year old. 3)Describe your ideal dog. * A small/medium dog that is social and cuddly but not overly clingy (basically they just need to listen to the command "go away" soemtimes haha). Not extremely high energy, but still eager to play and maybe come with during runs. A mild temperament and easily trainable would be ideal. Good health condition is very important (a mutt is fine). No vocal breeds as I would live in an apartment. 4)What breeds or types of dogs are you interested in and why? * No particular breed in mind (that is kind of what i need help with lol). I do love setters since one of my family dogs is a Irish settegolden retriever mix and she is pretty much my ideal dog (although she does not do recall well, which is a concern). 5)What sorts of things would you like to train your dog to do? * Basic commands like sit, lie down, go away, etc. Recall would be a huge plus. Would need to be trainable to ignore/be calm around other dogs and stimuli on walks, and be able to walk nicely on a leash. 6) Do you want to compete with your dog in a sport (e.g. agility, obedience, rally) or use your dog for a form of work (e.g. hunting, herding, livestock guarding)? If so, how much experience do you have with this work/sport? * No. **Care Commitments** 7) How long do you want to devote to training, playing with, or otherwise interacting with your dog each day? * I'm away from home a maximum of about 6 hours a day, mostly way less. I'm a student and I spend a lot of time at home studying and doing other things, which means I do have time to be around the dog. 8) How long can you exercise your dog each day, on average? What sorts of exercise are you planning to give your dog regularly and does that include using a dog park? * I plan on doing shorter (~15 min) walks in the morning and at lunch time, and a longer walk in the evening. I would be able to visit a dog park/open area for running (when the dog has learnt recall) about twice a week. I do also run occasionally, and in the fall/spring im happy to take the dog with me. 9)How much regular brushing are you willing to do? Are you open to trimming hair, cleaning ears, or doing other grooming at home? If not, would you be willing to pay a professional to do it regularly? * Im happy to keep up with brushing weekly or so. Im comfortable bathing and trimming nails on my own. Im only interested in dogs with a "normal" coat that does not require frequent grooming visits. Im not willing to pay for the normal grooming fees like brushing, bathing, or trimming. **Personal Preferences** 10)What size dog are you looking for? * medium 15-40 lbs. A small is also acceptable depending on the breed, but i do prefer medium as they seem like the most athletic size and are able to go along on hikes and stuff. 11) How much shedding, barking, and slobber can you handle? * Preferably no barking as id live in an apartment. Shedding is fine as long as its not excessive as i am slightly allergic. No slobber. 12) How important is being able to let your dog off-leash in an unfenced area? * Relatively important. I do want to be able to let it run free for playtime, and hiking in the woods off leash would be great. So a dog with good impulse control that doesnt just run off the second it gets off leash would be great. **Dog Personality and Behavior** 13) Do you want a snuggly dog or one that prefers some personal space? * Somewhere in the middle. I do really enjoy cuddling with a dog and having them sleep in my bed, but i also dont want it to be too in your face. Basically just a dog that says hi then settles down with me instead of constantly seeking attention. 14) Would you prefer a dog that wants to do its own thing or one that’s more eager-to-please? * eager to please 15) How would you prefer your dog to respond to someone knocking on the door or entering your yard? How would you prefer your dog to greet strangers or visitors? * friendly to visitors 16) Are you willing to manage a dog that is aggressive to other dogs? * preferably no aggressive dogs. I would like to be able to safely let the dog be off leash without any fights. I'd rather not take the risk of my dog hurting another dog/person. 17) Are there any other behaviors you can’t deal with or want to avoid? * Poor recall. Also howling/barking when im not home. I would like to trust my dog to be relatively quiet when im not there. Destructive behaviour like chewing up furniture even as an adult would also be a big no. **Lifestyle** 18) How often and how long will the dog be left alone? * up to 6 hours a day. In the future that could be bumped up to 8-9, but I will always be close to home, so a quick walk during lunch would be possible. 19) What are the dog-related preferences of other people in the house and what will be their involvement in caring for the dog? * I live alone 20) Do you have other pets or are you planning on having other pets? What breed or type of animal are they? * Possibly going to get a cat in the future 21) Will the dog be interacting with children regularly? * no 22) Do you rent or plan to rent in the future? If applicable, what breed or weight restrictions are on your current lease? * I will rent a student apartment. There are no limitations on pets and there is no extra fee or cost to having one. 23) What city or country do you live in and are you aware of any laws banning certain breeds? * Sweden, no current breed restrictions but there is talk of banning certain bully breeds unfortunately. 24) What is the average temperature of a typical summer and winter day where you live? * Summer would be ~20 C (70 F), whilst winter averages around -20C (-4F). The hottest it gets is 30C (85), and the coldest is -30C (-22F). **Additional Information and Questions** 25) Please provide any additional information you feel may be relevant. 26) Feel free to ask any questions below.

🚨🇵🇸BREAKING — In a vote by nearly 20,000 workers across the University of California, UAW 4811 has authorized a strike defending the right to protest for Palestine.
The decision to call for a strike authorization vote was made by the union in response to the brutal state-sanctioned assault on the Gaza Solidarity Encampment at UCLA, where a mob of Zionists assaulted a peaceful gathering of students and workers with tear gas, mace, explosives, and blunt objects.
Various law enforcement agencies stood by for hours as the attack continued unabated, only to conduct a violent sweep on the encampment the following day, firing rubber bullets and flashbangs at protestors.
Over 200 students, workers, faculty and community members were arrested for exercising their right to free speech and protest.
At the University of California, San Diego, dozens of students and workers were also attacked and arrested by law enforcement during a peaceful encampment protest on May 6.
The authorization of a strike in defense of workers rights to protest in support of Palestine is a major step forward for the U.S. labor movement and its ability to take clear anti-imperialist positions. Palestine is a moral issue, yes, but the actions and words of UAW 4811 show clearly that it is a worker’s issue as well.
