All that to say this is a monster of the week game that will follow a party of explorers who wish to take out the Mad Manipulator. As the Mall was connected to a fantasy realm before ending up in the moral modern day there are many fantasy races around as well so those are on the table, if you want any abilities based on a fantasy monster race, you will have to take the Monsteras Sheet.
The vibes and aesthetics are that of the late 90s and early 2000s as the Mall appeared in the early 90s and slowed the world's progress as many things we're destroyed and had to be rebuilt. The Mall has a very normal with a fantasy lean look on the first 5 floors but after that it begins devolving into a dungeon looking space and beyond that it gets very liminal and BackRooms-esce with one one or two highly dangerous enemies but a large space to hide and seek through.

I decided to be an entrepreneur in 2009 when I dropped out of college to get into sales and somehow it lead me to the insurance business.
The funny thing is over the years I always told myself I would never sell insurance because who wants to sell a piece of paper to people. Now, I am realizing how much more it is than just a piece of paper. Once I got into the industry I realized how much I needed to learn and am still learning. We are in such a vast business with so many different parts of the business. I got into health insurance just as we are seeing the restriction to short term medical policies going to (STM) 4 months. There are always parts of the business changing like this. I am wondering how other agents have found success and how they have adapted, shifted, and changed over the years to run a profitable business all while maintaining a work/life balance….
My questions here are for other agency owners and independent agents alike, what else should I be selling? Should I just focus on one thing in the beginning?

I (31M) posted here a few years ago on a different throwaway. The thread was locked or removed but I did get a few helpful bits of advice before then, and I'm hoping for more advice since there's been an unexpected update. I was born, raised & live in a western country, but my family is from India and I am a practicing Hindu. I have a shrine in my home where I pray and give offerings in the mornings. In my culture, a swastika has important religious significance. It's styled differently than a Nazi swastika and we've used it for centuries before Nazis were ever a thing, but I obviously understand the significance of the symbol in the western world and do not use or show the symbol anywhere in public. However, my home shrine has a swastika fairly prominently embossed onto it (very standard for Hindu home shrines, I was gifted mine by a family member who'd bought it from a local Indian grocery store). My shrine is located in a separate room of my house and I usually leave the door closed when guests are over, not because I'm hiding anything but I generally close off areas I don't want guests to be snooping around in (like my home office). A few years ago, I was working at a different company, and had taken some urgent work home. A coworker came by my home to pick up a part that I had been working on, and I let them in to use the bathroom while I collated/printed it. I hadn't been expecting guests, so all the interior doors were open, and the coworker saw my shrine, which is when things got messy. They are Jewish, and confronted me over my "Nazi shrine". I tried explaining that it was a religious symbol, but they weren't having it and left. They then "outed" me as a Nazi to the rest of our coworkers resulting in a schism at the office, with some understanding my side, some agreeing with my coworker, and some saying that although I was free to practice my faith, I should've "hidden it better" from my coworker. I started looking for other jobs in part because of the toxic work environment this had caused and ended up being offered an amazing opportunity at my current company, which brings us to now. My managers brought me the resume of someone they were looking at potentially hiring. The same ex-coworker from a few years ago. The role in question has the same reporting structure as mine, but works primarily as an assistant to my role. They noted that the applicant had worked at the same company as me during the same period as me, and wanted to know if I knew them and what my opinion of them was, as we'd be working together quite closely. The job is now down to between them and one other applicant, and my recommendation is to be the deciding factor. I told them I'd get back to them by end of day to buy myself some time, but now I'm faced with a choice. WIBTA if I told my managers that this ex-coworker caused a toxic work environment for me at my previous role?

Hi,
As title says, my iPhone fails to connect to Tailscale if I'm not connected to my home WiFi. It doesn't show any errors, it just says "Starting..." and then the Connect button reappears. Speed tests look fine and other VPN apps such as ExpressVPN do work too.
On the other hand it does work if I'm using Wifi instead of 5G.
Not sure if this test is meaningful to rule out issues with my mobile network, but I've turned on my iPhone hotspot and then connected my iPad to it. Tailscale on the iPad works in this case.
Any ideas? I've ensured I've got the latest app version and have also restarted my phone.

A number of fans of the Homeworld (HW) Universe have put a lot of thought and effort into their posts and that’s a testament to the passion that HW has brought to a lot of people.
I want to start by stating it pains me to say HW 3, especially the campaign has been a disappointment. Did we know what we were getting? Yes we had clues. Did we know the potential that HW 3 could have been based on the previous games? Oh there was immense potential!
The Homeworld series has been my favourite games (including mods) since the release of HW 1 in 1999 and I was a FIG backer for HW 3. None of the games have been perfect, but the storytelling left a long term impression and naturally the desire to want more from the series and continue to story. This has led to a loyal fan base including myself. I remember reading the HW1 manual and details about the Kushan Kiithid and the ships details numerous times.
Some of the epic storytelling events in the series that have made Homeworld what it is:
· The Kushan Kithid feuding for generations on a desert planet, Kharak, to then discover an ancient starship (Khar-Toba) buried in the desert sands. The genetic study also revealing they were not native to the planet.
· Discovering the Guide Stone in the Khar-Toba with a map pointing out Hiigara “Home”
· Discovering a Hyperspace Core and the Kiithid coming together to build the Mothership with Karan S’Jet integrated as Fleet Command
· Kharak burning – What treaty did the Kharak people break and what was their past? The war with the Taiidan Empire begins to reclaim their home.
· The Garden of Kadesh and realising they were part of the same race.
· The Bentusi and discovering why the people of Hiigara were exiled to the far reaches of the galaxy.
· Defeating the Taiidan Emperor, Riesstiu IV, and taking back Hiigara
· Learning more about the Kiithid in Cataclysm, the Beast, and the Bentusi’s fear – “We shall not be bound”
· Bentus sacrificing itself so the Hiigarans and Karan S’Jet could re-unite the 3 Hyperspace Cores
· Progenitor Relics, ships and guardians
· Balcora Gate and the battle to recovering the third Hyperspace core from Makaan (who believed he was the Sajuuk-Khar) and the Vagyr
· Transferring from the mothership to the long-lost Progenitor starship Sajuuk. Seeing the mothership drift away. It was a memorable moment .
· Saving Hiigara from the Scorched Earth scenario. The fleet fought hard to save Hiigara and their people.
· The Eye of Aaran which Sajuuk and the 3 hyperspace cores unlocking the vast hyperspace gate network. Hiigara opened up a trade/exploration/colonisation network across the galaxy and beyond. Not just for them, but for all civilisations.
Finally the day comes when the HW3 Collector’s Edition arrives after waiting years as a FIG Backer. It was amazing. The artwork was beautiful. The models were great and go well with the HW2 collector’s edition. After so many years, HW3 was finally here!
I finished the HW3 campaign a couple of nights ago. First there was anger, frustration, followed by mourning the loss of such a great opportunity that could have been for the Homeworld Universe. After playing 4 previous HW games for years, it feels like the team that wrote the HW3 script really did not understand the franchise, storyline to date, and its ‘spirit’.
After watching the promotional videos from the team from Blackbird Interactive saying HW3 was for the fans that have been with them along the 25 year journey (Relic Entertainment back then) the disappointment was very real. Sure it’s a visually beautiful game and some of the game features are an improvement which they couldn’t do in HW 1 and 2, but this did not feel like a continuation for the long term fans. This felt like a simpler HW labelled game for a new fan base. Such a missed opportunity! There has been the release of Homeworld Mobile and the VR version so Gearbox are looking to maximise the revenue while they can, and I can’t blame them for that.
My HW3 opinion:
· Aesthetically, HW3 is stunning
· I really like the look of the Khar-Kushan Mothership
· Deserts of Kharak showed the struggle and Kiithid conflict aswell as how difficult life was on a Desert Planet. HW1 was about the Kushan coming together to fight for their true home after Kharak was burned. Cataclysm did a good job expanding the different Kushan (now Hiigaran) Kiithid. HW2 felt like an “unbound” storyline with the three Hyperspace Cores – Karan got her time in the limelight – the three cores and Sajuuk combined was the key to the hyperspace network and “The Age of S’Jet”. HW3 continued with a focus on being ‘unbound’ lacking the substance behind who the Hiigarans are and their history, even before their exile…a missed opportunity.
· Popular fan request – Let us finish collecting resources! Imogen and the fleet were being hunted so I understand the urgency behind the gameplay…….but still, the player should have the option to jump when they want to.
· Besides one interceptor getting stuck on an object on mission 13, I had a pretty smooth gaming experience. The intelligence of the fleet and formations was a bit dodgy which required a lot of micro management.
· Cinematics between missions. The quality varied. Feels like more time and money was spent on the development of each one instead of a decent storyline. Why did it need to be done when you compare to the predecessor games? Likely because this game was more character focussed instead of a Fleet Focus.
· Khar-Kushan colliding with the giant freighter. That would have caused catastrophic damage and serious structural integrity issues. It seemed a bit too much! An evasive manoeuvre which led to the Synth Hyperspace Core housing being damaged as it clipped the freighter would have been enough to temporarily take out, power, propulsion and two out of the three cores.
· Ship designs were bland and generic lacking the HW2 creativity. Hiigarans have discovered quite a bit of Progenitor tech so why are they still stuck with the same types of weapons.
· No Sub Systems compared to HW2
· No targetable ship components e.g. engines, primary weapon etc. compared to HW2
· IMO the fleet ship types and options were far inferior to HW 1 & 2. It felt dumbed down significantly.
· One kind of Corvette……..really???
· Hiigaran Carrier….horrible design and couldn’t keep up with the Khar-Kushan.
· Why no Ship Yard? I can understand the Khar-Kushan had capital ship building capabilities, but it still would have added flexibility in Fleet logistics.
· Fleet control options were not great and missing a few options compared to HW 1 & 2. When you have a fast paced fleet battle going on, you want to minimise the time it takes to search for ship order functions.
· Using classic controls with terrain tunnels sucked. I struggled with the camera view because of the terrain. Too often I was met with blue screen because the camera was inside a structure or terrain.
· The antagonist – The Queen of Incarnate, Tiaa’Ma. An Unbound that has been around for millennia with far superior knowledge and use of hyperspace, can move and destroy planets on a whim, can turn off hypergates or redirect them. With that kind of power, why didn’t she hunt down the cores and search the galaxy for them? A tyrant that has killed millions. The Queen in general as the antagonist and the campaign ending was incredibly bad.
· With the 3 Hyperspace Cores gone, the 15^th fleet are not the only ones stranded. The Hyperspace gate network is down for all civilisations. Far jumping is gone. What detrimental effect will that have on the galaxy at large including the Hiigaran colonies, economy, diplomatic relations with other civilisations etc.?
· Imogen’s choice not to engage with the Incarnate after their Queen was gone was poor form!
· Imogen S’Jet – The hair…dry and wet…WTF
· I personally wanted to learn more about the Progenitor. Instead, I got hive mind Progenitor worshipers and still very little information about them or those who created the cores and the gates etc.
· Sajuuk combined with the three hyperspace cores was the key to opening the Hyperspace Gates. It was a superior ship IMO. So where is Sajuuk now? Were the 3 cores removed and put into a new mothership (Khar-Sajuuk) with the primary weapon looking like a mini Sajuuk sticking out of the centre of the ship. If it is the Sajuuk with the Mothership built around it, the scale is way off. Sajuuk was a mothership size vessel!
So after that rant, HW3 is beautiful but a hard pill to swallow after 25 years of loving the HW Universe. Life goes on! I hope the loyal fan base provides constructive feedback for BBI and Gearbox Software in hope it is listened to and used to bring back epic storytelling.

Hi all,
I've been running a Plex Media Server with the "arr" services on a standalone Windows PC, only accessible on the home network. The current hardware is:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (4.2Ghz, 6 core) NVidia GeForce GT 1030 - does a great job of transcoding for Plex 16gb RAM, DDR4 2133Mhz - yes, the next thing I buy for this would be more RAM.
500gb Samsung 980 SSD 8TB HDD (only one drive, but currently it only has media downloaded for Plex, so I won't cry if it dies and I lose everything).
Recently I've been putting some though and research into upping the game, and this sub has been great. What I want to try in the near term:

• Change OS to a Linux server (Debian/Ubuntu, not sure the pros/cons of each)
• Use Docker to serve Plex and the arrs
• Set-up a reverse proxy to allow outsiders to access my Plex
• Implement some server admin stuff (Dashboard, IoT, DNS/PiHole etc)
• I don't really NEED a NAS, but I would if it makes anything else easier.

In the mid-term (when I get more hardware)

• Host a cloud service (NextCloud)
• I wouldn't mind being able to spin up some VMs on it if I want to tinkeplay

My questions for the gurus here:

• Is my hardware sufficient to achieve at least my near-term goals? Noting I've been doing basically the same through Windows on the same machine, I think it should be fine.
• I see a lot of people here running Docker inside Proxmox with VMs set up for media servers, netwrok admin work and whatever other segregation one might want. I'm just interested in people's opinions about if that's right for my use case. Is there a scenario where I run Docker with all of my Media Server and Network Admin containers directly on the server, but also have Proxmox running next to it, for tinkering purposes?
• Is there a good piece of software for general network admin/parental controls that anyone can recommend? I'm talking about blocking/allowing devices, time limits, traffic monitoring etc. I don't like what came with my TP-Link router, it is clunky and works rarely.

Hello all,
I've recently rented a new apartment, and one of the compromise points is that my working from home setup is a bookshelf with an integrated desk. The desk depth itself is around 450mm, and unfortunately a monitor arm won't fit as the desk has an integrated drawer.
Any ideas on a monitor in Europe that fits the following specs?

• Screen mounted as far rearward as possible on the stand to maximise desk space (centre of gravity is obviously a limit here!)
• Stand itself can extend onto the desk a little bit, bonus points if it is flat instead of leg type
• 23-24", 1440p/2k, Matt display preferred. No need for any gaming specific refresh rates
• I'm open to buying an aftermarket stand if needed...

Current monitor is a Viewsonic VA-2719-2k, you'll see that the monitor is rather centred on the stand, so it takes up a lot of the 450mm desk space. It's also rather large for the width of the desk as well, hence the step down to a 23 or 24".

Hello everyone!
My friends and I have bought together the boradgame "Scythe". (Group of 5 people). We played now several games together and had alot of fun, but I just can't to seem to get enough points to win it. And I tink it has to do with my playstyle.
Before everything I should say also I wasn't able to play ALL factions yet. Still missing out invaders from afar factions and Russviet - player mats
1) Usually I'm trying first to get 5 workers for only losing power and nothing else. And if possible, reaching an encounter field. 2) Then I'm building up to get the first Mech (or second if encounter can give me one) to get out of the home territory and get mobility -either Rivercrossing or other ability depending on faction. 3) Then I play it very, very safe and mostly the same: - Increasing popularity and power as much as possible - Trying to get the Mech, Enlist, Power oand Upgrade star. Really heavy on the upgrade star - just preference. - Trying to find out wich combination can get the player mat use most effectivly.
Thins I avoid here are the following: - Avoiding combat if possible - Not going to the factory to early (except I'm Russviet or Northic). - Not spreading out, I keep it close to the home base for territory - Hording ressources (need them for building/upgrading stuff)
This works most of the time very well (depending on faction and player mat more or less), but then after the midgame, I mostly get outclassed by the others. They usually got their player mat running more effective, cover more territorry or have an aboundance on ressources.
Mostly I can't keep up then anymore and the only thing I came up with for the next time is to play more pro active and don't turtle up in and near my home base.
I know it's very dependable on who play which factions and what player mat they get (some work better with certain factions than others). But is there something I've been missing or can improve?

this is the best dream I've ever had I can't remember when is the last time I had such a long dream, literally, I was in this story for a whole night damn...(since its a dream I could not able to remember all )
My dream started with me hanging out in college with my friends. We were just talking about our daily stuff and having fun, but suddenly the topic changed. We were talking about our crushes and relationships, etc. At that time, a group of girls passed by us. Among them was a girl who, according to my friends, is very attractive. I didn't see it that way. Sure, she’s pretty, but not so attractive that I'd drool over her.
My friends were saying stuff like, "She’s the girl of my dreams," "She’s very cute," and admiring the way she talked, her body language, and her dressing sense. I said, "Guys, stop it. She’s not that attractive." One of my friends replied, "What if she confessed that she’s in love with you? Would you reject her?" I was so done with these guys drooling over her, so I said something very disrespectful.
"Even if she were offered to me for free, I would have to decline."
(What was I thinking when I said that? That was so bad. That’s not me. Damn, kill me, kill me, kill me...)
Somehow, the words I said reached her, so she confronted me under a sakura tree. (WTF, how is there a sakura tree in this country anyway?) She was blasting me: "WTF were you thinking? Why do you even care to comment on me?" Then she landed a bomb on me: "I could ruin your life by saying you made filthy comments about me. I could even make a police complaint." I was petrified. I didn’t know what to do.
Then she landed another bomb by blackmailing me: "Whether you like it or not, you have to be my boyfriend. I'll make your life so miserable that you'll never even think about searching for love again."
Now I had only one way out: I had to accept it, or my life was over...
The next day, the class was buzzing about how this average-looking guy bagged that baddie. Little did they know that I was her literal personal assistant. She was mistreating me, asking me to get snacks, do assignments, drop her at the railway station so she could get home, and what was with that text message: "Make me laugh, or I’ll post a story about you misbehaving with me." Days passed, and I was working overtime and broke because of her...
Literally, I was a pressure cooker
One day, she stopped making me do these things. I wondered if I should continue without her telling me, or maybe she had found a real boyfriend or something? Anyway, it was a win for me. I was happy. A week passed, and still no interaction with her. I was out of her grip now... yay!
That day, I found her in the canteen sitting alone. She saw me... I thought that was an indication to buy her some snacks, so I bought her some egg puffs. I was very curious to ask her, "Am I free now?" But to my surprise, when I gave her the puffs, she started crying. I didn’t know what to do. People were looking at me as if I did something wrong. She stopped crying eventually and said, "Why did you buy me puffs?"
I said, "You always liked them, right? And why are you crying?"
She opened up to me about her life, her family problems, etc., and how she acts differently in college to maintain her image. She said she was tired of it all. I replied, "I'm here for you, and you don't have to pretend around me. You can be yourself."
After that day, my life changed. I was still doing the same things for her—getting snacks, doing her assignments, dropping her at the railway station she still acts like a boss, but now it felt like I was taking care of her like a mother.
Things remained like this, I'm I her bf now?
I didn’t get a proper ending, but it was a damn good story. When she shared her life, it was very emotional, but I couldn’t remember much of it.

My Grandmother is a Caucasian, 70 year old woman, no medication, probably between 4’11- and 5’1, about 160 lbs ( Not sure, she’s got thin arms and legs, and while her body isn’t thin, it’s not really heavyset. She has no problem with her mobility, maybe just slower walking, has a bad hip but refuses to take any medication of any kind for any reason, and is a HUGE chain smoker. Probably one or two packs a day. This would explain her infrequent but still noticeable, phlegmy cough from time to time.
I don’t know everything about her past but I know some: One of seven children, parents used to scream a lot, she used to cry in bed with her sister when it happened, told me she stayed away from home as much as she could, started smoking at about 12 years old, got pregnant with my dad at 15, became a mom at 16, by all accounts was the best mom ever, biking, reading, dancing, encouraging my dad to try new things, but still moved around a lot, and kept going from house to house, to trailer, etc.
When she was about early 20s, she met and married a guy who she later divorced because they had a kind of culture clash. I don’t remember exactly what he was, but he was very controlling of her, forbidding her to wear swimsuits, or going anywhere without him, and eventually he threatened her several times with knives and a hand around her neck. Never did anything but she was afraid of knives for a very long time afterwards.
She met my grandpa, and I guess things were fine until after she had my aunt. Sometime after she was away from home as much as she could by way of bingo.This led to her using what she could out of her own paychecks until she came after my grandpa’s, who let her. He sold stuff around the house and eventually asked people for money. Sometime after being married to my grandpa she randomly developed night terrors and sleepwalking. Full on waking up and screaming, full on walking outside and screaming. I guess it just stopped. Was controlling of my aunt, didn’t want her trying new foods, didn’t go out or do fun things with her like she did with my dad.
Nowadays it is well known that nobody wants to live with her, but she’s not like abusive or stealing. But here is what we have noticed:
Heavy chain smoker. It doesn’t look like she even finishes them, she goes like halfway, stops, lights a new one.
Can’t or won’t sit and watch a movie or show. Will start one, get up and do laundry, take care of the dog, check her phone, play on her phone, and will full on have a conversation with you or someone when she was the one who wanted to watch the movie.
Frequent gambler. We just went on a cruise to place she’s always wanted to go and she spent a good chunk either smoking or gambling.
Very annoyed with the smells or steam of foods to the point where she’ll complain or get up and move. My grandpa famously only had seafood twice while married to her and he loved seafood.
Very irritable if she goes a while without a cigarette. She was pretty rude in the airport.
Gets annoyed easily when starting to board or get off the plane. Will full on loudly complain about the heat or cold. Kept asking my dad to open window, close window, turn ac off, turn ac on. Whiny.
Restless, seems like she can’t sit still or focus on anything in a climate where she has to sit and be quiet. (Planes and shows)
Known to start fights about pretty much anything that she doesn’t like. It is all about her from the thermostat, the entertainment, the volume, food, etc very difficult to live with
Very dramatic. Complained she was so cold on an excursion she couldn’t move her leg, and then refused to see a doctor about a numb leg. Said she’d just take a shower and then was suddenly all better about an hour later when she was smoking. Never showered, shrugged it off by saying she’ll be all right.
Dramatic in a little kid version. Like when a two year old is confused or thinking, they’ll scratch their head, purse their lips. Like their mimicking confusion verbal cues? Like they’re thinking this is what we do when we’re confused so this is what I will do. She seems to react to things dramatically and like a second or two after a proper reaction time?
A dog barked and her whole body moved in startled matter. If she hates something she eats, she makes an audible grunt, forces a sad expression in her face, holds a napkin to her mouth, and will dramatically push the food away. It’s not just dramatic, for some reason it makes me think of a toddler going through the motions so to speak.
Will sometimes ask us questions and then immediately talk to someone else or walk away and do something.
Says she’s an introvert who doesn’t like talking to people, but actively makes a point to talk to people. Not in a rude way or anything, just likes talking to people. Not sure if that means anything but I’ve always noticed that. Why would you say you dont like talking to people if you actually do?
Has quit a few jobs for silly reasons, and made impulse buys, like a new car when she obviously can’t afford it. Even back when I was a kid, she was known to gamble nearly everything, and could never afford anything, even though she made decent money.
Loves to complain. Or she just complains a lot. Going out to eat with her is usually a nightmare unless we go out with her to an approved place.
My dad made a joke that she’s ADD and it got me thinking about everything. Can she have and have had undiagnosed ADD? Can symptoms of an ADD nature appear because of trauma? Can trauma beforehand affect symptoms of ADD?
Or maybe it’s undiagnosed anxiety or depression, but can those lead to restlessness or symptoms like ADD?
My great grandma once told my mom apologetically my grandma has always put herself first before anyone. But dad’s joke had made me wonder if there’s maybe overstimulation or…something?
I know you’re not psychic and I’m happy to give any extra info, but I wondered if a person can be horribly selfish if they have some kind of undiagnosed whatever.

I'm a single dad (42M, 2 children 9 & 13, 50% care). I earn enough in a job I like to rent a nice home in an expensive suburb ($750pw) with good public schools and amenities. Buying a home would be financially challenging because it's an expensive suburb (~$1.5M median house; I can't really move due to kids & ex), costs are high (kids & child support, tax) and my capacity to earn more is limited (kids). In 10 years my earning prospects will be better, I could move and I'm happy to work into 70s (or however long). I'm interested in strategies single parents may take to build wealth and possibly buying a home once after kids are older.
I'm also interested in feedback/advice on my strategy, which includes: 1. Put 20% into superannuation 2. Put savings in diversified index fund 3. Have a small business that retains earnings (rather than paying myself today; also a type of income protection) 4. Work a job with enjoyment and long term development (rather than chase immediate higher pay) 5. Focus on my (and family) physical and mental health 6. Keep renting until I no longer need a big house in an expensive suburb, then buy/borrow for a smaller place elsewhere, eventually paid off from super and part inheritance of my mother's modest home.
