Almighty So 2's Hidden Gems

2024.05.17 13:26 AdFantastic5288 Almighty So 2's Hidden Gems

There are some "Hidden Gems" / call backs in Almighty So 2 referencing previous moments in Sosa's career if you happen to notice.
1. First, being the legendary Michael Blackson being featured on the Jesus Skit just like the skit from Bang 2 #getyoshittogether #youRG2lookinmf #$8
2. On Sosa's verse on Jesus, he says ,"N**** thinkin' he a P, man you put the P in PRANK" & "Ridin' with an AR, We put the A&R in rank!" just like he did with the song "Himalayas" from the legendary tape, "Sorry 4 the Weight" with the similar vocab throughout the song : "B**** I put the E in White, b**** I put the E in Red, B**** I put the E in R***RDED, Guns that pull up and leave Dead!"
3. In Too Trim, we get the line , " & this life a n**** live will make ya nervous!" - an almost direct line from Fredo Santana in his song, "Nervous".
4. We can't help but recognize hearing Chief Keef's Grandmother's sound bite on "Believe"- originally from the "Everyday's Halloween" music video.
5. In Tony Montana Flow, we hear Keef speaking with a girl over the phone which he has done in a few songs. At the end of the song you hear Sosa ask the girl, "You drunk?"- which gives reference to the song, "Love No Thotties" where a girl is asking him when he's going to "come out here" (fly to her state) he replies asking her the same. (She assures him it would be in his benefit) Unimpressed, tells her, "Yo ass DRUNK!" when she asks what he said, he replies, "You drunk."
These were things I picked up on and appreciated considering some of those gems go back over 10 years ..
Did you guys notice some or all of the references while you were listening ?
Which ones are you just now finding out about?

2024.05.17 06:50 MonoSDXC John should do something like this to grab people's backgrounds

The end result looking a bit strange and often times obviously AI edited could potentially be part of the skit itself, but also, the image will only have the weird distortion effect in place of where the person was sitting, so if John just sits in that spot after using a tool like this to erase them out of the image; It'll be fine

2024.05.17 05:43 SadBoySnazz Wanting to Start shorts, reels etc

Hey Guys,
I’m wanting to get into content creation (skits and stuff) to assist me in building a brand around myself and steer it towards either streaming or something like that I’d enjoy. The struggle is coming out of that shell and people you know seeing the content, how did you get through this when first starting out? Any advice to overcome that will be appreciated.
Would you recommend uploading to all short form apps? (TikTok, shorts, reels are the main 3 I’d focus on)
Thank you 🙏

2024.05.17 00:57 TriviaGalore93 Top 10 NBA players for each letter of the alphabet

The origins of this list came about when the Denver Nuggets won the NBA chip last year. I asked my bball group chat if winning the NBA chip made Jamal the best NBA player named Jamal/Jamaal. I then made this list:
Jamal Murray Jamal Crawford Jamal Mashburn Jamaal Magloire Jamaal Tinsley
After some research we learned about Jamaal Wilkes and then we made Tinsley an honorable mention.
With the NBA playoffs coming, I thought I tried to do something similar but on a much larger scale and share it with the NBA subreddit community.
I'm not sure if such a list has been done before. If it has, please send me the link to it so I can read it.
Also this is how I came up with the list. The list is not in any specific order per letter. Its more like the first name for each letter is the first name I thought of. Whenever I have trouble finishing up the list, I go to Google and basketball reference. I indicate when I do so.
The list is done by first name and not last. So for example, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will fall under K and not A. The other thing is players will be listed by their actual given name and not nicknames. For example, magic Johnson will be under I for Earvin "magic" Johnson.
Please let me know what you think about the list and let me know what players you feel I missed. Also let me know which letter has the best NBA players. EDIT: I added Joel Embiid, Anthony Edwards and William "Bill" Russell on this list because they shamefully slipped my mind last time.

2024.05.16 22:26 Chance_Criticism_202 Growing account for artists

Hi,
I’m an artist looking to grow my Tik tok account (at least while it’s still around). I have made 2 accounts already. My first account is about 4-5 years old and it was an account where I just did random things (skits, dancing, and showed a little of my music), which was growing, but very slowly(I haven’t posted on this account in years now). I made another account about 1 year and Alf ago strictly focusing on my music with things like singing, showing my videos, povs, etc. the videos seem to get a decent amount of views and likes but I have not been growing, I’m still at 20 followers, although getting likes and views. I really want to be able to grow a fan base, but I’m not sure if I’m going in the right direction with content. I just can’t wrap my head around how to make good content in a certain niche that will help me grow. I see everyone online is always talking about staying in a certain niche, but that has not been working for me. Is there anyone who does other things to put attention to their craft or build a fan base? Anyone doing other things/niches to build a fan base for their other talents like music or anything art related? I’m just not getting it. Any advice would be helpful. Also, should I make a new account and try to start over again?

2024.05.16 21:25 thebradman70 Lost In Translation

Probably somebody who is fluent in Japanese and English would be better to analyze this movie but I will try anyway.
The movie is about poor communication and disconnection. Originally I thought it was just describing culture shock and the overload of being in a foreign country. But there are numerous examples of “lost in translation” as a metaphor. Watching Bill Murray (Bob) view an old SNL skit in Japanese is a bit surreal. When Bob is trying to finish a commercial shoot the translator gives him short instructions to a lengthy response from the director. When some fans recognize him drinking at a bar Bob just smiles and walks away.
Both main characters are in unhappy and disconnected relationships. Giovanni Ribisi plays a busy photographer who gives little attention to (Charlotte) Scarlett Johansen. Later Charlotte goes to a Buddhist temple and watches a ceremony. When trying to describe her lack of feeling about it to her mother back in the states Charlotte becomes tearful and this ends the call abruptly.
There is not a lot of dialogue overall in the movie. But one person who does talk incessantly is Giovanni Ribisi’s ex played by Ana Faris. Her character is quite vapid and annoying. This is to contrast the main characters who are insular and contemplative.
What does Bob say at the end of the movie? Well I can’t read lips. But we are supposed to fill in the blanks since the movie is at its core about difficulty communicating, especially in relationships.

2024.05.16 14:08 Impish_Hulk_2002 Who created the word “Vondruke?”

I’m actually interested. It was used in a bizarre unaired SNL sketch with Will Ferrell, completely out of the blue and with no explanation, and then years later it turns up on 30 Rock maybe 10-15 years later, same thing. Is it the pet agenda of some writer or producer who worked on both, or was it a callback/homage? Every time I try to search anything about the word online it’s just people yelling out quotes in the comments from whatever sketch it’s in or how much they love 30 Rock or Will Ferrell and I get it: I love those things too. However what I want to know is did you notice it too, it’s weird right, and how do you think it happened? I’ll put on a pot of coffee, let’s get out the bulletin board and pushpins and yarn.

2024.05.16 11:06 Opposite-Help7647 I had to shoot this load somewhere it's been growing too long to not

I know this is a meme sub. I wanted to post this in the main sub but I don't have clips for a claims and I was worried not being able to post it or being able to and then getting banned because I don't have clips for my quotes. I know I might get banned from here too but if I had to choose between being able to post and reply in a place it would be the his main sub because I'm not good at making memes or jokes but I'm ok at rambling in a self-important way. hopefully I wont get banned at all but we'll see.
Our boy is right about most things. Some things that he has dog shit takes on is 1. Kids protesting don’t have demands 2. If the USA stopped funding IDF the kids would be only 1% less pissed about the conflict. 3. They don’t know anything about the area or really anything about anything 4. Anti-semitism and anti-zionism are the same thing. 5. “We see that the killing will radicalize kids in gaza but we don’t see that on the other side with 10/07/23 or the 2nd uprising etc.” As I’ve said in previous posts here, I’ve been watching Destiny since 2016. He has made me rethink more things than I could count. He’s forced me to read on topics I never thought to read on. It’s for those reasons I expect much more from him than most humans and why I’m so passionate when I come down on him or go down on him or whatever the phrase is.
  1. The student groups are demanding the campus they attend stops using their tuition money to fund Israel. That’s a straightforward, clear demand. In fact, it’s much more clear than occupy or mainstream BLM demands were. Destiny knows this. Rather than dropping this talking point he acts as though his quiver is low and he needs every arrow possible and has recently changed it to “They have no demands… or their demands are misguided.” So fucking silly. Divestment, as big Steve knows from studying more history than most people have casually read, is a political tool that has been used for decades with varying degrees of effect. As a capitalist I would think the idea of people ``voting with your dollar” would get him hard. Destiny has defended his support for the war against Hamas. I haven’t seen him defend his position that American universities should be using their endowments to assist Israel in their war. It wouldn’t surprise me if he has some really thought out reasons for this position but I haven’t heard it yet so until that moment I think his position is stupid at best.
  2. “The students don’t really care about the USA or their college funding this war. If the schools and or the government stopped the funding the kids would only be 99% pissed rather than 100%”. I think this is a stupid take. The kids I talk to think they are/we all are funding a genocide. I know Big D doesn’t think we’re funding genocide… nobody is correct all the time. They want their school and/or government to stop funding it. Many of them don’t agree what the next step should be but they do know they want their school to divest. Brown is the one example that I know of where the school said, “Ok, we’ll vote on divesting in the fall.” The students didn’t say, “We’re staying until you divest.” They said, “Sounds good.” and broke down their encampment. They know what they want and when the school said that they would vote on it months from now the students walked away.
  3. “The protesters don’t know anything about the area or the history” is something Mr. Bonerelli has said. He’s also said, “The history matters but at the same time it doesn’t matter.” By this I understood him to be saying, “Yes, X happened in 19XX or 18XX and that was bad and it shouldn’t have happened but what are we going to do about what’s happening on the ground right now?” When I see these clips of kids being asked questions they don’t know the answer to, the latter Destiny quote pops into my smooth brian. My second and third thoughts are, “I wonder how many clips did they get of kids answering questions correctly before they found this kid. I hope there were zero clips before and after this kid because protesters should know by now that talking to the media is something the PR people should do.
These kids don’t need to know what happened in the six day war to know that they don’t want their dollars going to arming a military that they believe is genociding a people. In fact, they don’t need to know where Palestine is on a map or if Israel was created in 1948 or 1848.
  1. “Anti-Zionism and Anti-Semitism”are functionally the same thing” this is such a silly claim. It’s as silly as the blue trench coat. The most EXTREME form of anti-zionism that I can think of, that I’ve never come across naturally (meaning not searching for it), in the anti-zionist circles, would be the end of Israel and killing of every zionist. Even if 90% of jews were Zionists, even after they realized they could denounce their Zionism and not be killed, that still wouldn’t be killing jews because they are jews. It would be killing zionists because they’re zionists. In fact, if someone were to hold that position they'd be forced to, in absolute numbers, kill more American Protestants than Isrealies. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the largest population of zionists are American protestants. Obviously if the most extreme version of anti-zionism isn’t anti-semitism then the same is true for all versions. If I saw the 6mwe shirts being worn by some of the protestors on these campuses I would be concerned. What's more likely is some of these counter protestors at UCLA were wearing those shirts on Jan 6 in DC.
Anti-Zionism is no different than anti-facism or anti-capitalism or anti-communism. Immutable traits are not necessarily connected to one's ideology. Obviously if you're missing a leg you're likely to support the ADA. If you're queer you're more likely to support equal rights for queer people. That being said, most of the time, Ideology is not connected to things you can’t change about yourself. I know it would be convenient for the zionists if Anti-zionism is Anti-semitism but it’s not. In fact, IMO, a decent argument can be made that Zionism is anti-Semtic. “The jews can safely co-exist with any other population for an extended period of time even in today's international western world with international institutions like the UN, the ICJ and the ICC. It just can’t be done. They need to have their own place that was already partly inhabited.”
  1. While in debates sometimes people bring up the fact that the IDF is creating the next generation of Hamas by killing the families of all these kids. If Destiny is given time to reply he says that we talk about it one way but we don’t ever talk about how the rockets and 10/07/23 might radicalize young Isrealies. He’s correct that not many people talk about it but they should. I think it’s very important to point out that if you grow up hearing rockets flying over head, are told in school about all the violence Hamas and those that came before have committed against Israelis (but for propaganda reasons they’d probably say jews rather than israelis) and and that the Gazains have always wanted to kill jews (calling them jews not israelis) and then you’re trained in the IDF and sent into Gaza you might make statements via humorous skit or whatnot about enjoying killing Gazians or that not enough Gazians have been killed while in a bombed out apartment complex in Gaza. What I assume is happening a little bit more than TikTok posts being made is people shooting rather than not because they've been radicalized. Destiny is correct; we need to talk about the radicalization that if Gazians are experiencing then young Iraelis must be experiencing too.
  2. “Americans don’t care about foreign policy. They care about domestic policy. The college kids ‘care’ about foreign policy because they’re still suckling on the mommy and daddy teet. Domestic policy doesn’t impact them so they look to the most morally loaded thing they can, which currently is foreign policy.” is something I heard Destiny say in a tone of disgust. Destiny also recently said he might stop saying he’s progressive or far-left. IMO His perspective on the above mentioned topic is a perfect example of why he should stop thinking of himself in this way. It says so much to me that when people in a society have their basic needs met they think about the world broadly. They look for international injustice and they do what they can to try to minimize it. From Destiny’s comments it seems as though he prefers for Americans to be so wrapped up in their own survival that they aren’t thinking about international affairs.
What makes Steven valuable to online politics and philosophy is not that he’s a progressive but his desire to put in the work, show that work being done, to become educating about topics and then expose others for not being educated. 99.9% of factual matters Destiny knows and remembers about this conflict than many scholars. That’s impressive and very important to show people that if you can put in 7 hours a day, 6 days a week, not just read but study for those hours you can come close to having nearly scholarly knowledge on the topic. Obviously there's a difference between having the knowledge and bringing new knowledge to the academy’s attention, that realm is still best left to the scholars but it's incredibly empowering for us all to know that if you put in the work it is possible to know more than 99% of the population on a topic in a short amount of time.
It would do Destiny and the far-left good if he was more clear about the fact that he’s a classical liberal who’s influenced by The Founding Fathers, Adam Smith, Ricardo and the Marquis de Sade.

2024.05.16 07:21 GrimmCigarretes Regarding Spinoffs

Hello internet
This is a semi-rant I just had to get out of my system, so just bare with me here
TL;DR: I believe Sega could do a lot of side games expanding the Sonic universe without making it a Sonic game
So, we all know Sonic. He's fast, he's cool, he has a chili dog addiction. His friends are... sorta just there most of the time
I've had these thoughts lately, specifically of how they could bring the Freedom Fighters to the canon, and I started to think, maybe a batch of side games starring different side characters (and with time in the oven, Jesus, no pressure), with separate stories from the blue blur himself
He could still make an appearance on these games, and even be playable, just not the main focus. Here's some things I've been thinking of:

Diamond Cutters

Starring the trio of Tangle, Whisper and Lanolin, the story revolves around a new mission they are given either by Jewel or sn anonymous contractor that would be revealed later on in the game, the levels would be divided in 5 types:
Tangle: Tangle gets fast movement, SA1 Tails' levels of acceleration, and platforming using her tail, this would be her main method of combat as well, being able to use the Homing Attack (instead of a ball, she'd kick). Her levels would be fast-paced, with the design philosophy Frontiers has.
Whisper: Slower levels, using the Wisps to solve puzzles around, and her gun as her main combat tool. The type of ammo she uses is dependant on the wisp you decide to equip in the mission, being able to change them on the fly with the D-Pad (ala DMC). She could do her levels pretty fast, although, not intended to be as fast as Tangle
Lanolin: She gets beat-em' up, with fluid combos and modifiers by changing the timing on your button presses, or press diwn a button, for example, O, O, O would be a basic combo of two punches and a kick, but O (wait), O, O moves the kick to the second input and the third one is her smacking her cowbell and creating a shockwave. The slower paced levels
Trio: Some levels have all three gathered together because story ressons, they all finished their parts of the mission and now there's only the final stretch left (of the Zone/Segment). The three would be controlled the exact same as in their solo levels, but you are able to swap between them mid-game by pressing R3. There would be some obstacles you need specific members to get by, like a cracked wall that Lanolin can break, a rail Tangle can grind, or a button that only Whisper's gun can hit.
Boss fights: A mix of all 4. If the boss is at the end of a Trio stage, it works like Solaris, where each DC has to find a way to attack it, and of course, there would be bosses for each one indivudually

Miles Prower

Starring Tails, just after Frontiers. He thinks of his promise at the end of that game, how he would be stronger and that Sonic would hardly recognize him the next time they meet again. So he gets on his own quest to be the better version of himself
A new antagonist is threatening the world, and Tails is the one that decides to go after them, with two main types of levels
Tails: Take what Frontiers did for him and flesh it out more, it was almost perfect. Give him his Sonic Battle Gun back
Chase/Sky: Stages were you fly the Tornado to either catch up to something or to go from Point A to Point B, it has an auto scroll since you are moving in a plane, but it isn't fixed. If you want to go fast, the scroll would follow you right along

Freedom Fighters

The Restoration is almost done fixing up te damage after Forces, however, there's something that concerns them: some of Eggman's old bases have been reactivated, but that's extrange, since he, alongside with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy are off the radar. Jewel sends this team to check out what's going on. And yes, this idea happens in parallel with Frontiers
The gameplay gives you liberty to adjust your playstyle however you want. Its stages are built for stealth, but also give you the option to go ham and gets noticed. If you do a great job of passing by without triggering alarms nor robots quickly, S Rank, if you trigger them, the S rank is instead rewarded for how many guards were destroyed, how varied your combos were, and the total score. Each Freedom Fighter has a vastly different moveset
Unlike the Diamond Cutters idea, this time you choose what character to play as for each level, with some stuff only certain ones can access, just to make it have more replayability
In short, being sneaky = Metal Gear, getting noticed = Devil May Cry
Sally: Her gameplay would be the second fastest, being able to grind rails, and using energy blades from her bracelets, sorta like post-reboot Archie. She would carry along a small console, Nichole, which you could connect to some terminals to get information about the level, or shape the stage up. Sally is great at stealth as well, being a stat that decides how hard is for a guard to spot you
Antoine: The fastest character, Antoine is insecure of himself, so unlike Sally, he can't grind on rails. He carries a wispon that you can customize before each level, being able to destroy his way through enemies, he is good at platforming, which wouldn't be very prominent on this game. He is decent at stealth
Bunny: The strongest one, she is slower than Sally, and able to break down some obstacles, she can wall jump and use a sneak attack, which will one shot the objective without being detected if executed correctly. Her brute force is her biggest focus, she is bad st stealth
Rotor: He is a bit weaker than Bunny, being able to break some obstacles, but there's some he can't break but Bunny can. His main gimmick is being able to plant bombs around, and entering the same hacking sections as Sally without Nichole. He can shape up entire levels with good planting of his explosives, and his combat proficiency at just using his hands is remarkable. However, he is the worst at stealth
And yes, the same way the combos apply to Lanolin work the same with all four of these
Okay, semi-rant over. Just jad to take this thought out of my brain to be able to sleep. Bring Sally back Sega, pretty please

2024.05.16 04:57 Zeeco110 Derrick discusses the creative process for "We Recommend This Video"

Link to original Twitter thread and script of the video
"I was in a class setting recently at the teacher wanted to share a YouTube Video with the class. The sidebar was filled with harmless, but slightly embarrassing related videos. I just kept thinking about how awkward and funny that was.
I was talking to the other boys about how I wanted to make a really dry skit, kinda inspired by Safdie Brothers movies. I just kept talking about how the sidebar should be filled with really incriminating stuff and Rocco blurted out "Yeah, like how to fuck dogs" I died laughing.
I originally wrote this thinking it would be for me and Shawn, but Shawn said Garrett should take the role. Plus Garret had a dog, so if he was willing to bring the Dog in, he'd be the best actor to work with the little buddy.
Originally the sidebar was filled with a bunch of weird political crap, but when it came time to make the thumbnails (I made them on Canva) I just used the basic template thumbnails they recommended. Seemed like generic videos ALL about dogs would be way funnier.
When we were editing this, I put most of the video together. But originally the opening video Garret shares was silent. Rocco said we should add clown music and "BOINK" sounds... which was a good call. made the whole opening way weirder and a LOT funnier.
The confrontation in the office was filmed with 2 cameras, and me and Garrett acted through the scene in 1 go. We wanted it to be as natural and awkward as possible, so we just ran the scene and filmed both actors at the same time. Took about 4 takes to get it right.
Johnny was behind the camera for the coffee pot scene. He REALLY wanted me to put my head against the door like Jack Torrance in the shining. I'm glad he did cause that scene was a lot longer, and we ended up needing to cut to an alternate shot to make it go faster.
I ended up creating an entire fake YouTube page for the opening "Funny Video" including fake info and a fake pinned top comment. These sections tell the story of a Youtuber who got dumped days after his parent died. He went to a convention and had a "Level 17" coronary event.
While editing, I cut a few jokes out to make the conversation go by as fast as possible. I was really nervous what the reaction would be to this video, but people seem to like it so that's great! Glad people like the new video!!"

2024.05.16 03:55 Thane_Canaverra Help me Prank my Brother.

Afternoon Reddit. I need your help.
My (25m) brother (23m) and I are celebrating Mothers Day late this year at the end of the June with our mom. We had a single discussion about what we would get her.
This evening, we were suppose to sit down and spend like 30 minutes ordering and customizing her the two things we plan on getting her.
Instead he tells me this evening, "I don't want to do this, I am going to go work out" "Just order it and I'll pay you back".
Now, this isn't the first time this has happened, so I want to play a prank on him; specifically I want him to cringe so hard when he hands our mom "his" present and she opens it in front of him.
***I want to note, my mom has approved this idea, and she will still be getting my brother's original gift from him, as well know ahead of time of what is in the joke gift***
So, Reddit, what should I buy for my brother to give to our mom?
So far the list of ideas include a package of Men's underwear or the Mrs. Clause lingerie showcased in Will Ferrel's Elf. I am eager to hear yours.
