2024.05.18 15:20 throwmeaway232312 I need help figuring this out

Hey all, my life is kind of a mess right now (yay me).
I keep finding half truths out from my husband. I have spoken to my therapist about this, and she kind of pointed it out to me.
Last week, I noticed my husband had some "sexy emojis" in his recently used. Think (đŸ˜đŸ„”đŸ†). How did I see this? He asked me to respond to a text on his phone FROM MY GRANDMA and I just wanted to put a smiley face in it. Fabulous.
The next day, I needed a Word document that we worked on together that wasn't downloading on my phone for whatever reason. He handed me his phone again to send it to myself. I went to his downloads/documents and saw a file (?) that was something along the lines of: .bootycall. something. I tried clicking it right there because wtf?? but it said "This is not safe" or something like that. I honestly thought it was spam so I deleted it. I didn't think much of it, my mind was on the 🍆 emoji.
Fast forward that night, and I ask him if there's anything he wants to tell me before he can't take it back. He says no, I leave and take a shower. I come back out and he says "I looked at my phone, there was a file deleted called 'bootycall' it was a stupid AI girlfriend game." I honestly thought he was telling the truth. I ask again, is there something else? He says "Yes, sometimes I talk to people on apps like Omegele (idk if I spelt that right), but it never goes farther than that. They're random people and sometimes I mess with guy's on there by pretending to be a girl".
I didn't want to know anymore after that, I just kind of shut down. Of course, I tell my therapist all of this. She tells me the only "booty call" apps she's finding are cheating one's.
Does anyone know of this file thing? I wish I had more info. Or remembered the file better.
Thank you all, I'm really glad there's a community like this. Even all it sucks that it has to exist.
TL;DR I found a downloaded file on husband's phone along the lines of .bootycall. Husband says it was an AI girlfriend app. Can't figure out if that's the truth or not.

2024.05.18 15:09 TrueMinecraftAlex Escapists from escapists

Well how did that all start? The people who had difficulties in life or were very stressed went to the internet for escapism, they were using video games or pornography to escape, that could be one of the reasons why these two subject are so connected.
As the years went by those escapists settled in the internet and made it hostile to everybody who goes against their views, to the point that the people who are against porn have no place to go.
And the whole escapism thing turned around and now the normal people have to escape from the internet in the real world, because the internet became so hostile and in general so deranged that you need to find an escape from all of this.
Even if you try escapism in the online video games then you are likely to meet several deranged and porn addicted people on one server and instead of recovering and removing stress you will just get even more stress and headache.
This is not magical stress escape place anymore, it's probably the biggest stress generator for escapists and double escapists alike from how horrible it turned out.

2024.05.18 15:08 AlphamonOuryuken24 Frontiers/IDW Amy is the best version of her character since SA2

It's no secret that certain fans dislike the present-day version of Amy Rose.
"She's been stripped of her character traits."
"They took away what made Amy AMY."
"They completely altered her character, she's just boring now."
"Her crush on Sonic is non-existent, she might as well be a different person."
Going over how some people argue about Amy's portrayal in the games, specifically from Heroes onward really highlighted a small detail that I hadn't noticed until recently.
These people who are complaining don't like MODERN Amy... they like ADVENTURE Amy.
Fans seem to have a problem with realizing that this was the starting point for Amy Rose's outright flandarization.
They constantly compare present day Amy to the version who wasn't afraid to express herself questioning what else remains now that that's been taken away... IGNORING the fact that the version of referencing was only in SA1 & 2, and Heroes for the majority of it.
And that's where the finer details come in, as well as the aspects of her character that everyone seems to purposely ignore.
So let's actually take a look at some of those games that came after Heroes, shall we?
As I said before, SA1 & 2 were her character at her best early on in the Modern Era, but from Heroes onwards? A downhill slump with only a few upwards bumps every now and then:
Sonic Battle was the most prominent example, where she got obsessed to unhealthy levels to the point of pretending Emerl was Sonic's way of practicing for when they have a kid, as well as training herself to the point of exhaustion and hallucinating.
Sonic Riders, Zero Gravity, & Free Riders had her back to gushing over Sonic and practically nothing else nothing else. With her getting swept up into the crisis of the week by mere happenstance.
Riders 1 was the only one where she took direct action... and got caught by Eggman.
Rivals & Lost World effectively regressed her to being the damsel in distress alongside Tails and Knuckles.
Rush, 06, Unleashed, and Forces had a few decent moments for her here and there, but her contributions to the overall plot were either miniscule or downplayed and she ended up sidelined for the rest of the game, or in 06's case, until the final stage.
Generations dipped back into flanderization territory to an extent. As it was shown that both versions of Sonic saw her as more than a little annoying up until the final battle.
Adding that all together, exactly what of substance did we actually get out of Amy as a character before Frontiers? What character death did she have outside of just wanting to marry Sonic?
And yet now with when she's acting more mature and at the very least moving away from just being focused on sonic, suddenly she's being stripped up everything that makes her "her"?
And even worse, in some instances fans act as though she's not allowed to be improved on in any way shape or form and that she should just stay the lovestruck girl chasing Sonic to the ends of the Earth... a shtick that has long since overstayed it's welcome.
Make her mature despite not being Sonic's GF in Archie? "They made her a cuck".
Make her a Resistance leader in IDW? "She's a rip off of Sally".
Give Classic Amy her own solo arc? "It ruins her development in Adventure".
Make her Tarot Cards more prevalent after several years? "Tone it down, they're getting overused."
Give her classic self Super Strength? "This is OOC, she's just a normal girl."
-Or-
"She's too over reliant on her hammer."
Just because the character has become more mature doesn't mean those aspects of their character have suddenly vanished. Amy's character is more than just being attracted to Sonic, so she can act more mature in his presence at certain times, that's what CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT is for.
This is honestly why I prefer how they're handling her both in the games and IDW. She's allowed to do more, express herself and go on adventures without it being limited to just "Sonic is here", and we get to see her interact with other characters to give her more depth. I mean for crying out loud in the IDW series alone she's been on more interactive adventures with Cream, Rouge, Knuckles, Jewel, Belle and Tangle.
And what did they all have in common? She wasn't just there because Sonic happened to be in the area.
How much of that did we get in the games after Heroes?
Think about it for a second, from Heroes onwards up until Frontiers... what exactly did we GET from Amy in her game appearances aside from the same old "I love Sonic" trope?
So next time anybody complains about Sega "making her boring" by mellowing her out or letting her act more mature, remember that you BARELY got anything of substance from her until now.
Frontiers & IDW at the very least DID something with her and let her contribute to the plot. She's allowed to have her own arcs, adventures, and interacts with other characters without needing to suddenly go Starstruck whenever Sonic is within breathing distance of her.
I'll take a well-developed in-depth version of Amy over a flanderized version of her any day.

2024.05.18 15:07 Odd-Hotel9359 Need architecture assistance with a game bot

So ill get straight to the point. I have created a bot for the gsme albion online with python that sets buy and sell orders on the market by checking if certain images are on the pc screen. If so behave on programmed logic. It works fine for now on the pc but obviously is bound to a screen aswell as the current set display solution
I want to expand soon and was looking for other ideas that are maybe more reliable than using a monitor.
I have the following ideas:
1st The current bot works with python respectively pyautogui, pil and opencv to check if within a treshhold an image is found on the screen. This works for like 99% of the time, only sometimes my script fails since it doesnt find some buttons but i think i could get around that with better error handling or tweaking. The backside of this is that were bound to a monitor and a gaming pc. Obviously since it uses the current pc the pc cannnot be used for other activities.
2nd Ive looked into machine learning and object detection which i would feed my images into it. And then based on if image is on screen click. Same downsides as 1st. But at least the clicking on images would be more accurate.
3rd Sort of combine either 1st and or 2nd but on mobile. There are libraries (adb) to connect ur phone to a pc and with that i could just run python code on the phone and do all the image recognition on it. I was thinking that id just get multiple phones and connect them to a pc (possibely a pi) and then just let that handle the logic. Since the game is run on the phone the pi doesnt need a lot of cpu with that would be relatively "cheap" to run instead of running a gaming pc with a graphics card.
4th Same as 3rd but instead of using real smartphones i could use virtual ones. Id then for that cause setup a specified server for it.
5th Ive got my feet wet with packet analysis by downloading a radar hack and looking into the source code. Im confident that within a bit of time i could get that to run and manipulate packages sent between server and my client (arp spoofing i think). Question is how undetectable that eould be by easy anti cheat. Id have to do a bit more research on the anticheat.
Does anyone have experience with any of those methods? Is it even possible to run a bot headless? Id be glad for any advice.
Thanks in Advance

2024.05.18 15:04 MGK_2 Changing Gears

OK, we are going to try to piece it together yet again. As I've stated in the past, all is conjecture but some of the things which I said in the past need realigning given the new direction the Company is taking. For a long time we've searched, but it all started in the beginning, so therefore, by definition, there must be an end. Many thanks to you my friend u/psasoffice for your help in piecing this puzzle together.
So, the time frame begins when it began, until the time it is realized or when the money runs out. Let's go back again to the summer of 2022, when share price went to $1.26, what caused that? Well to answer that, we need to go back even further.
Back in 2019, CytoDyn put out this PR CytoDyn Announces FDA Clearance to Proceed with Phase 2 Study of Leronlimab (PRO 140) and Regorafenib as a Combination Therapy for Metastatic Colorectal Cancer. Regorafenib is a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor with minimal efficacy and high toxicity. As u/perrenialloser pointed out, it has plenty of side effects and really is not that functional. However, the drug manufacturer Bayer was prepared to do this Phase II Clinical Trial in patients with metastatic CRC with CytoDyn.
"The study will be conducted by lead principal investigator, John L. Marshall, M.D., Director, The Ruesch Center for the Cure of GI Cancers Frederick P. Smith Endowed Chair, Chief, Hematology and Oncology Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, D.C."
I wasn't around at the time to know for sure, but I believe this trial was set up by Nader. Eventually, this study would be withdrawn for reasons which I am about to disclose.
In October 2021, the MD Anderson Study with Keytruda is announced.
"Nader Pourhassan, Ph.D., CytoDyn’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “We anticipate this study will further evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of leronlimab in the tumor microenvironment. We are excited about the possibilities for leronlimab to offer a potential new treatment option for breast cancer patients. This could be an additional indication for which we are pursuing approval for leronlimab. We are also very grateful to Dr. Scott Kelly for arranging for this study to be conducted by Dr. Jangsoon Lee, assistant professor of Breast Medical Oncology Research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center."
Cyrus Arman comes onboard as President effective July 9, 2022. During that summer of 2022, the CYDY share price ran up as high as $1.26 per share for some unknown reason. In the past, I attributed it to NASH. I give a breakdown of my thinking here in I Tell You A Mystery. In the commotion of Cyrus' hiring and the mass fluctuations of the share price, the MD Anderson Study had already been completed and the results were looking good to those privileged enough to have been granted rights to actually see the data. Coincidentally, it was about this time that the CRC with Regorafenib was withdrawn. Hmmm, Why was this trial withdrawn? Just because the MD Anderson results looked great or because there was something even more profound and substantial built upon those results?
"We can apply the same logic in the Oncology study being run by MD Anderson using Merck's Keytruda in combination with Leronlimab. We had all been waiting to find out what had happened with the results of the MD Anderson study, and Cyrus threw us this line: "Leronlimab is currently being trialed in combination with Keytruda (pembrolizumab) in a breast cancer xenograft model in partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center." From here, he gave us a hint of what is to come."
Soon following his hiring, Cyrus presented his Vision & Plan for the Company:
"17:09: And we're also still committed to HIV, but we're really looking at it more through the lens of developing longer-acting agents. And Dr. Sacha will be talking about that at the end of our discussion today.
17:21: So, within oncology, we're interested in studying what would be referred to as immunologically colder tumors. And Dr. GlĂŒck will present on what those -- what we mean by that later. But we think that these are areas where more recent advancements from checkpoint inhibitors have yet to really have a large impact in those markets. And so, we think that there's a unique opportunity based on the data we already have in some of these colder tumors to make an impact.
17:51: Within NASH, we're particularly excited about the data that we have there, and NASH will be our primary focus going forward. We'll also talk a little bit about a unique opportunity to study and look for the treatment effect of leronlimab in people living with HIV who also have NASH. And we think that we might be in a unique position to address that population."
"18:22: So, going forward, we're focusing on NASH, oncology and earlier-line HIV indications through longer-acting agents that inhibit CCR5. Again, we've already generated promising clinical signals in both NASH and oncology. And within NASH, we're exploring the opportunity to study a segment of patients of those NASH patients who are also living with HIV.
18:50: Within oncology, we want to pursue colorectal cancer and breast cancer specifically. Within the colorectal cancer population, we want to focus on a micro-satellite stable group, which represents about 85% of all diagnosed colorectal cancers. And within breast cancer, we want to focus on the hormone receptor positive HER2-negative population, which is about 70% of all diagnosed breast cancers, and the TNBC population since we have data in that space. All of these are quite large markets."
The FDA made it truly tough for Cyrus to meet his goals as the Company's main devotion was to get the hold lifted, so Rules had to be followed. Also, Cyrus unfortunately made NASH a focus and then subsequently became sick and then found himself taking a demotion. His focus really should have been on Oncology as #1 target as it finally is today. Here though is a revealing statement he made:
"...these are areas where more recent advancements from checkpoint inhibitors have yet to really have a large impact in those markets. And so, we think that there's a unique opportunity based on the data we already have in some of these colder tumors to make an impact."
Keeping that escalation in share price to $1.26 in mind, when did CA know about this data? He got the data on the MD Anderson results either before or shortly after his hire. Remember, shortly after NP was terminated, Cyrus was at CytoDyn working at least for a few months prior to his hire giving opportunity to the BOD to assess his work ethic and ways about him. In this time, CA saw the MD Anderson results and they were looking mighty good. Where are these results today? They still reside with MD Anderson. Why don't we have them right now? Too many $millions to buy it, but we saw the results and those results are the impetus for the change in gears of the Company's priorities. Surely Scott Kelly, who was responsible for securing the MD Anderson study has seen them as well.
Speculation: So, what did Cyrus do immediately once he saw those results? He negotiated a cancer play in mCRC with MD Anderson. We can try to piece this together using parts of this post.
"What also happened in August? Only the removal of the first management player who’s experience was in Negotiation and Partnerships, Brendan P. Rae. No longer any necessity for Negotiation? I guess not. As time went quickly by, without any word of what was taking place, the share price began to fall. It became uncomfortably obvious that by mid November, Recknor had been let go. He was CytoDyn's most experienced scientific, medical and managerial player for NASH, but in the game of a collaboration, anyone and everyone is a commodity and all are replaceable. On the same topic, a significant stock bonus was paid to the president in September of last year after only two months on the job. Was a deal struck? Also, our very own CMO, Scott Kelly who coined the phrase: “There are many ways to structure a partnership.“ himself gets terminated in December 2022."
Just like that bonus, (which was based on his obtaining a partnership), the short-lived share price rise also assumed that a deal had been struck. Scott Kelly was privy to the MD Anderson results just as Cyrus was. Why didn't Kelly put a deal together like Cyrus did? I don't want to diminish the fact that Kelly was wholly responsible originally for getting the MD Anderson murine study going. The fact is that a deal had been made and justifies Cyrus' bonus payment.
Proof came a year later, in October 2023 in a few posts by biloxiblues which together with everything else, in my eyes, solidifies this new theory. The price went to $1.26 because of this 100% fully funded, 200 patient Phase II mCRC combination Keytruda Clinical Trial Cyrus Arman had arranged with MD Anderson, based on the spectacular results of the MD Anderson murine study. But, as discussed in the posts by biloxi above, the BOD got in the way. This can also explain why the Regorafenib Bayer trial was withdrawn, when it became clear as day that the results of the MD Anderson study were great and a massive combination Keytruda trial was struck, but pending, unfortunately, taking second fiddle to the work of getting the hold lifted.
Through his discussions with Cyrus, biloxiblues indicates that Tanya would not compromise. She and the others on the BOD were too intently focused on following the mandates of the FDA. The FDA wasn't fooling around with the hold and CytoDyn could not make any more mistakes. Tanya was dead set on following the "Rules". The number one priority was to get off clinical hold and the FDA made it damn near impossible for CytoDyn and Cyrus. It damn near killed him. So, the BOD made the incredulous decision to walk away from Cyrus' baby, which was a fully funded mCRC combination trial with Keytruda and we learned all of that in October 2023 thanks to biloxiblues.
But this was Cyrus' baby, and he wasn't about to let her go. Could this be why CA is still with us? After all, aren't we back to mCRC again?
Dr. Lalezari comes on board in November of 2023 and puts forth the Inflammation and Immune Activation within a very small sub-set of HIV patients. Share price bumped up and pulled back. Damn, this trial with 90 patients could cost CytoDyn near $10 million. Where does that money come from? Share price is lower after the announcement. Can't raise money with a low share price. That would consume boat loads of shares. Inflammation/Immune Activation was not working. People weren't buying it.
Cyrus Arman is witnessing everything going on, that there is no money and that it is not advancing, and it occurs to him that his baby, may not be completely abandoned altogether. No, he realizes that the hope he once had lost due to circumstance could now be found again, so he advocates in earnest for her.
He recalls Scott Kelly discussing the 12/14/21 CC with Scott Kelly Basket Trials:
"25: 25 Kelly: We are excited about the Basket Trials. I'll start by saying I just presented at San Antonio Conference December 10th. That was in results wrt mTNBC in combination with carboplatin, CCR5 positive, mTNBC and I tell you, the reason why we are excited about the Basket Trial is that they think that there is a growing acceptance that the Tumor Micro Environment is the next Frontier for Immunotherapy. And I mean this amongst practicing physicians, the academic world, probably as well as big pharma, and I think we are more advanced than this. We've been looking at the mechanism of action in the tumor micro environment and see Leronlimabs impact across multiple different oncologic indications and we also think that we can pair this with a check point inhibitor, chemo, radiation, antibody zero conjugates, as well as maybe even a potential monotherapy in certain patients that don't qualify for other treatments. We think the MOA, with T-Regs. When T-Regs come in, they turn off the immune system. We know that they have a high prevalence of CCR5. We can block that. We can actually maybe leverage the immune system. If we look at macrophage re-polarization, that's another potential opportunity. Our animal studies showed a significant reduction in angiogenesis. I think it was 62% in total vessillary and 80% reduction in small vessel area. But, we know that tumors need a blood supply to grow and if we can help limit that, then we think we can have benefit for patients. And last, we know that normal cells, CCR5 is only present on an immune cell, but we know that when cells under go malignant transformation, that they start sprouting up CCR5, and we believe that is a contributor to metastasis. So, we have multiple different mechanisms of action and we continue to find more as we go along that we will be evaluating."
He remembers Dr. Gluck's discussion in the 12/7/22 R&D Update Dr. Stefan Gluck; MicroEnvironment.
"So, as you saw, very small studies, but extremely promising, and the signal for an oncologist like myself is so strong that I'm enthusiastic about it. We, as oncologists, need to be positive because otherwise, we cannot treat patients and tell them something better is coming. The leronlimab decrease of these tumor cells actually did relate both in mTNBC and in colorectal with improved survival. That's amazing."
Cyrus turns to our 3rd party AI collaborator and requests an assessment on the effect of a CCR5/L5 axis blockade in mCRC. Their AI engines get to work and compile all that is known and understood regarding the pertinent Biomarkers in combination with all the pertinent journal articles on the blockade of the CCR5/L5 axis in the disease to finally determine that it works like a charm, like no other.
He reflects upon these statements made in this Regorafenib study which supports the fight against the MSS cold tumors. Thank you u/perrenialloser for this journal article.
"The majority of patients with CRC exhibit a microsatellite stable (MSS) or mismatch repair proficient (pMMR) status, which is known as the “cold tumor” with less mutated oncogenes and less inflamed tumor immune microenvironment, resulting in a limited efficacy of ICIs (2). The inadequate recruitment and activization of immune cells to the tumor microenvironment were considered to be fundamental mechanisms underlying the inefficacy of ICIs in MSS mCRC (4). Combination strategies to enhance the immunogenicity of the tumor microenvironment and exploit the benefit of ICIs in patients with MSS are urgently needed."
He becomes even more convicted. Given all that I presented here in addition to the proven results of the MD Anderson, Keytruda study which Cyrus has laid his own eyes upon, he becomes whole heartedly supportive of the Priority switch to the mCRC Oncology Indication. I'm sure Richard Pestell was also 100% behind Cyrus in this decision to switch priorities. Also, by switching to Oncology, share price has a better chance of increasing as Oncology is favored by the public. Fund raising could happen much quicker with a higher share price resulting from a better indication. From the recent May 2024 Letter to Shareholders:
"Over the next six months, we expect to commence at least one, and potentially two clinical trials. The prospective clinical trials, in order of priority, are: (i) a Phase II study of leronlimab in patients with relapsed/refractory microsatellite stable colorectal cancer; and (ii) a Phase II study exploring leronlimab’s effects on inflammation. The Company’s priority will be the oncology trial which, if successful, will put us on track towards a commercial approval of leronlimab in that indication. The inflammation study is aimed at clarifying certain provocative observations related to leronlimab, and to help define the dose and underlying mechanism of anti-inflammatory action. It is imperative that the Company generate unassailable results in the clinic and I believe the above trials can accomplish this. Starting the oncology study and related fundraising is the top priority of the Company at this time, but our current hope is that we can initiate both studies before the end of this calendar year."
So straight from the CEO's mouth, related fundraising is the top priority of the Company at this time. Cyrus remains here at CytoDyn because of the need to pump up the value by switching to a more attractive Indication Priority. I repeat all of this, because with all of the peer reviewed and published Journal Articles that discuss the CCR5/L5 axis in the context of Colo-Rectal Cancer and given Keytruda's exceptional performance as a PD 1 blockade in only 15% of these CRC MSI tumors, leronlimab can open the door wide open to the remaining 85% MSS tumors. The trial starts this year. Also from the recent Shareholder Letter:
"Research and development partnership opportunities are important to the Company as we search for cost-effective ways to further build out our product development portfolio. We have identified several such opportunities that we believe are intriguing and anticipate finalizing agreements with these partners in the very near future. Such potential partnerships include an investigator-initiated pilot study of leronlimab in patients with Alzheimer’s Disease, and a project that will evaluate the use of leronlimab in patients living with HIV who are undergoing stem cell transplantation in a proof of cure study. Following lifting of the clinical hold, we have observed a significant increase in third parties that are interested in partnering with the Company. We will continue to review opportunities as they arise, given the potential for significant value return at little or no cost to the Company."
The question I now have is with whom? Partners are incoming, but did leronlimab make it easier for the PD-1 blocker Keytruda to work in MSS mCRC tumors? If it did, (and Cyrus knows if it did or did not), then Merck certainly remains there in the bidding. If leronlimab did it all by itself and Keytruda was superfluous, then the partner might be someone like u/i__OBSERVER points to entities such as the NIH as the source of that funding.
Personally, I am very much thankful to anyone involved that pushed for the change in priority as mCRC is a much better recognized Indication, and one that is easier to understand and bring to the public.

2024.05.18 15:01 playsirfootball Decision Time: How It Works

Welcome to Decision Time, the (somewhat) holy marriage of fantasy football and NFL Pick'em.
Your objective is simple. Set up your standard fantasy roster (QB, RB1, RB2, WR1, WR2, TE, FLEX, K, DEF/ST) and accrue points normally. Then pick the winners (straight up, no point spread) of each weekly NFL game. As the week begins and NFL games become final, your current Pick'em winning percentage will be multiplied by 100 and added to the fantasy score generated by your roster.
Compete head-to-head each week against other teams in your league using a mixture of fantasy and pick'em in a highly competitive format. Enjoy the consolidated experience of Decision Time and abandon the hassle of separate pick'em leagues.
How It's Scored
A quick example: let's presume your fantasy football roster scored 87.65 points this week. Meanwhile, 11 out of your 16 NFL pick'em selections were correct, thus 68.75% of the NFL teams you picked to win did so. In Decision Time, your total fantasy score that will be compared against your opponent's is: 156.40 (87.65 for fantasy + 68.75 for pick'em).

2024.05.18 14:51 Asgar- Non-idle Tycoon Games?

Hello fellow mobile gamers.
I usually don’t play many games on my phone, I have a computer that does it better than my phone probably ever will. I also enjoy the controls of a computer game more, with no exceptions made so far. Yet I do enjoy tycoon games a lot and I think those are the only games that also work on a phone not too shabby, as its usually less about moving around doing something yourself but just managing a business in its growth, upgrading things.
I’m looking for exactly that. But whenever I look for one in the App Store (Apple User), I find piles and piles of these "build your own theme park, jail, army base, super market, hotel" and so many many more that all work exactly the same and while you do upgrade things, at some point barely anything becomes achievable without watching ads, paying money or wait for a very very long time. These typical idle games just aren’t real tycoon games and you can tell they are just made to generate money.
Is there any actual tycoon games available, that aren’t Idle something?
Also, even if it’s not a hard requirement, if the game was playable without an internet connection, it would be a big plus. I have a lot of outage and playing these online force games even though their only online feature is watching ads is just hindering me on playing

2024.05.18 14:49 WalteeWartooth Windows 11 keeps waking from sleep at night - doesn't always start water pump

As the title states, for some reason recently Windows 11 has started waking in the middle of the night and while annoying and a waste of energy in a cost-of-living crisis, that's not the worrying part, the worrying part is that sometimes when it does this my water pump doesn't kick in and I've woken up with temps dangerously high which could cause issues with warping of my hardline loop - this never happens when I manually wake the PC up, only when I've woken up and it's been awake.
I've found that it's the 'NT TASK\Microsoft\Windows\UpdateOrchestrator\Schedule Wake To Work' task that's forcing my PC to wake up in the middle of the night, but going into the Task Scheduler it tells me I don't have permission to disable the task when I desperately need it disabled.
EDIT: After some further looking into it I downloaded NSUDO to open Task Scheduler and was able to then disable the task. Hopefully that will be my issue resolved now.

2024.05.18 14:47 Apprehensive-Sir7063 There will be a redistribution of money in the Tech sector and then back again

The movement away from NVIDIA MICROSOFT GOOGLE APPLE and other giants will flood into other stocks in the short term we will see another chip rally in stocks with a lower market cap
But the likes of Bill gates and Warren Buffet will buy back into these mega tech stocks which will regain its value over the years
Warren has already sold some apple, he will sell some more but has a lot of money on hand saving for a recession but he will spend a lot on the above companies.
The money flows back and forth stabilising at similar levels over the long term. These companies will after losing half their value rise again at the same time as other Chip companies catch up increasing market cap.
Arm MU INTC AMD TSMC IBM
The increased automation using AI and Robotics in industrial processes will see increased production and need for chips in products.
Exponential growth of cloud storage will also drive it in the long term, newer chips use requirinf less energy bringing down costs of cloud storage fueling growth. There will always be a thirst for advanced chips in cloud storage and super computers. But consumer tech outside of AI and robotics?? how advanced do chips have to be in consumer tech after a certain level? Advancement in modern chips will increase for a short time in consumer tech improving energy efficiency and speed so a phone battery can last 4 times longer while phone working faster for example but beyond that consumer chips won't be innovative until we have home robots. Cloud storage robotics and locally stored AI requires innovative chips but once energy efficiency has peaked so will innovation in consumer chips over the near future. Even home computing with faster Internet speeds will move to the cloud and AI computing so as entertainment advances with AI it'll never require extremely advanced chips at home. I envision AI being able to create TV shows movies computer games for the user, based on their requirements and specifications and the plot of the story they want. Within a few decades possible.
This is a crucial point where companies rise or turn into potatoes collapsing in value. But potatoes still sell chips.
Are there any other chip companies that are relevant? I know the big tech are starting to make their own Chips for AI.
There's going to be a bottle neck in demand driving up stock prices artificially propping up the price of chips and when increased automation and robotics are used in chip manufacturing too some companies stock prices will collapse as others that went through the transformation of automation in manufacturing will flourish.
Intel is a company that is low in price but heavily investing and receiving government funds to expand their production as well as innovation in their automated production processes, is it intel who say they don't need Asml lithograph machines? Their stagnant value may radically turn around. It is intel pivoting the the mass production future for consumer tech and not the high end innovation others like NVIDIA or IBM seek.
All of those will see exponential growth over the next 5 or so years and then the increased mass production may see some rise and others fall.
All the while this is occurring money will be sucked out of other sectors lowering stock prices, another opportunity if chosen wisely as they'll have to go through the same transformation implementing AI and robotics and then they will see increased growth with money flowing back when their revenue increases.
But there is a ceiling and that is salaries and the cost of living etc people can only buy so much it will limit growth through all industries. A finite amount of money so the opportunities limited to this redistribution over the next decade potential for retail to make a lot of money out of the hedge funds pockets. If you know the rotations in advance like they do it's a benefit.
What will all of the job loss caused by the AI and robotics revolution do to spending I wonder create a recession? Collapse in the stock market? I'm not so sure, it can be avoided and the world doesn't have to have a recession of there's organisation and tariffs, I think China a risk for glboal recession as they're full steam ahead want to steal industry globally that will only increase job loss... I think thats avoidable.

INTRODUCTION

This article is based on my chapter in Volume 2 of the 2022 book “A Greater Reality.” This compendium published and edited by Rey Hernandez can now be viewed without charge on the CCRI, Consciousness and Contact Research Institute’s web site, links provided at the end of this narrative.

A familiar statement by members of the public is, “I’ll believe in flying saucers when I see one.” As the saying goes, “Seeing is believing.” During my many years of contact activism, I have learned that “believing” can also lead to “seeing.” The aim of this report is to describe two important features of the contact experience. The first concerns how UAP intelligences shape encounters depending on the existing beliefs and expectations of contact experiencers. The second theme is that intelligences responsible for flying saucers employ what from a physicalist perspective is “illusion” as a mechanism of contact. I present a case in which both mechanisms were likely employed.

Readers of this blog please note the following: This narrative was originally conceived when I was writing about UFOs from within what can be called a “physicalist” or philosophical materialist’s perspective. This paradigm makes the metaphysical assumption that mass/energy is the wellspring of creation, and that mind/consciousness is merely a product of brain activity.

More recently with the assistance of my friend and publisher Rey Hernandez, I have increasingly viewed this physicalist assumption as flawed. If Consciousness is primary, not mass/energy then the psi mediated mechanisms of contact might be viewed as being closer to the wellspring of creation (and therefore perhaps more “real”) than the construct of our senses that we call “physical reality.”

My changing metaphysical views have been propelled in part by the “simulation hypothesis” that has gained some popularity within professional scientific circles. My growing acceptance of Consciousness being primary, and that the physical world is an illusion therefore compels me to view technologically based psi technology as creating “illusions” within the physical realm that could very well be an illusory simulated reality as well. In Eastern mystical traditions, the illusory nature of the physical world is called “Maya.”

THE CONSCIOUSNESS CONNECTION

It has been said that UAP intelligences are able to access experiencers’ consciousness as readily as you and I access light by turning on a wall switch. Among contact experiencers it is common knowledge that the so-called “aliens” are totally telepathic. In my opinion, such awesome power also allows them to readily access our entire storehouse of memories. This capability, when combined with their ability to create psi mediated “illusions”, enables them to co-create with us any kind of encounter that you and they can “co-imagine.”

THE PHENOMENON IS “REFLECTIVE”: THE RADICAL CONCEPTS INTRODUCED BY JOHN KEEL

John Keel,(1930- 2008) was a legendary UFO and paranormal researcher and author. He published over a dozen books. These include the “The Mothman Prophecies” (1975), that was made into a successful film starring Richard Gere. In 1966, Keel entered into an intense investigation of the flying saucer phenomenon. As part of this study, he read thousands of local newspaper articles on UFO sightings provided by clipping services. He travelled across the United States interviewing hundreds of witnesses. Keel coined the term MIB (Men In Black).

In 1967, after just one year of his intense field investigations, he abandoned the extraterrestrial hypothesis. He did so because of, “an astonishing overlap between psychic phenomena and UFOs...” Famous investigators like Dr. J. Allen Hynek and Dr. Jacques Vallee eventually came to similar conclusions. John Keel was one of ufology’s most controversial writers and his work still influences current debates about the nature of the flying saucer phenomenon.

Keel, in his classic book, “The Mothman Prophecies” discusses how flying saucer intelligence manipulated his own investigations in ways that reinforced his beliefs about what was going on. On page 111 he states,

“I was being led to people and cases to support whatever theory I was working on at the time. I tested this by inventing some rather outlandish ideas. Within days I would receive phone calls, reports, and mail describing elements of those ideas. This was the feedback or reflective effect. Other investigators concerned with solving problems such as how flying saucers are propelled have automatically been fed, or led into, cases in which the witnesses supposedly viewed the interiors of the objects and saw things which confirmed the investigators' theories. If the phenomenon can produce any effect through hallucination, it can easily support any theory.”

As a physician I prefer the term illusion rather than “hallucination” to describe the mechanisms involved in Close Encounters. Hallucinations, from the medical point of view, are manifestation of disease states and should not be applied to encounters with non-human intelligences in which the witnesses are generally not ill.

According to my analysis, psi-mediated technologically induced illusions are being presented to human subjects. This noted, I cannot over emphasize the importance of Keel’s above quote from “The Mothman Prophecies.” In addition, it is important to note that the reflective nature of the contact experience exists on both a societal as well as an individual level. Researchers John Keel, Dr. Jacques Vallee and others have aptly observed that the appearance of the UAPs reflect the cultural expectations of each historic period in which they have manifested.
Thus, to the ancient Chinese, they appeared as “dragons.” During the 1890s airship wave in the USA, they took on the appearance of Zeppelins that would be built a few years later. For the last sixty years, as we have gotten out into space, they are now thought of as “extraterrestrial.”

The following narrative is an example of an encounter that is both “illusory” as well as reflective of one’s own beliefs about what the phenomenon is “supposed to be.”

Mystery Helicopters in the Sepulveda Pass

During the mid 1990s, I was a Working Group Coordinator in Los Angeles for the CE-5 Initiative. This involved staging what I now call Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE). My contact team regularly travelled to remote locations in the high desert. There we used consciousness techniques such as meditation and thought projection to stage limited interactions with UAPs. To our surprise UFOs appeared not only during our fieldwork but also during everyday types of activities. These multiple data points helped me understand the psychic mechanisms used to engineer Close Encounters.

During the five years that I was a contact team leader, my sightings occurred, not only during fieldwork, but also in my West Los Angeles neighborhood. Some of the sightings demonstrated a flat two-dimensional quality. This made me suspect that they were not physical objects at all. Instead they appeared to be visual displays that were being produced by some kind of holographic technology. As the result of these encounters, I developed a new model incorporating the role of illusion as a mechanism of contact. I call this theory, The Virtual Experience Model.

The Virtual Experience Hypothesis

Virtual Experiences of the First Kind (VE-1) are illusory visual displays of structured objects or “alien” beings that typically convince witnesses that they are physical “craft” or “extraterrestrials” beings respectively.

Other categories include the psychic creation of a kind of virtual reality that produces a full sensory illusion that is convincingly real to the human subject. I designate this type as a VE-2.

The final major category is Virtual Experience of the Third Kind (VE-3). In this setting, artificial memories are implanted into the consciousness of the contact experiencer. Although the witness recalls seeing a non-human being or remembers going on-board an ET craft, according to this scenario no such event has actually transpired. The false memory does the job of convincing the witness that was happened was “real”, i.e., a physical event.

A HIGH LEVEL CONTACTEE JOINS THE TEAM

One member of our HICE/CE5 Los Angeles group was a high level contactee from the former Soviet Union. I refer to him as “Misha Goldman”, a pseudonym. He worked as an EKG tech in the Kaiser Hospital where I was employed. He was what you might describe as a “human UFO magnet.” As soon as he joined the group our level of contact, as measured by the appearances of UAPs, increased dramatically. I deemed it highly likely that he had direct telepathic communications with what contactees might call “friends in high places.”

Living just a few miles from Hollywood, “the entertainment capital of the world,” I thought that perhaps Misha’s boost to our contact efforts was analogous to how Hollywood describes climbing the ladder of success. “It’s not what you know, but who you know” that facilitates getting the next job as an actor, director or producer.

MISHA’S PROBLEMATIC SIGHTING OF A FLYING SAUCER & MYSTERY HELICOPTERS IN THE SEPULVEDA PASS

One Tuesday morning during Easter Week in 1994, Misha called me at home to describe a sighting that he had the previous evening. While driving on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley he reportedly saw a typical disc shaped UAP flying overhead. It was about 1000 feet up and approximately thirty feet across. Misha was not the only member of the team that was having sightings while driving, but what made this sighting highly unusual was that this saucer according to Misha was being chased by several military helicopters.

Based on my growing suspicion that some UFO sightings are illusory in nature, I told Misha that there were features of his sighting that were problematic. It is important to point out that the San Fernando Valley had a population in 1994 of about one million people. In addition, there are no major US military facilities located nearby. I told him that his assessment that the military helicopters were chasing an “alien craft” didn’t make much sense. The flight characteristics of some UAPs include their ability to fly circles around top performance military aircraft. Slow moving helicopters in pursuit mode would never be able to keep up with a “real flying saucer.” So, then what was going on?

Reverse Engineered Craft was not a likely Explanation

I suggested to Misha another possibility. What if the flying disc were a top-secret prototype military device? Then, perhaps the helicopters were escorting it rather than chasing it. This notion was reminiscent of the famous Cash-Landrum Incident in which supposedly a reverse engineered radioactive craft accompanied by US military helicopters injured several witnesses on the ground. However, there was a problem with this possible explanation. The densely populated San Fernando Valley was the least likely place for the authorities to test such a craft. Just imagine the uproar with thousands of witnesses if the saucer had to stage an emergency landing in a community of a million people. Prized government/corporate assets were better kept secure, way out in the desert where they might be secretly developed, and test flown.

I told Misha that the entire sighting might have been a kind of “theater of the mind production.” (This conversation occurred years before I coined the term Virtual Experience describing the role of illusion as a mechanism of contact.) Instead, I told Misha that the disc he had seen over the 101 might be the product of some kind of advanced alien “mind control” technology.

“Helicopters” vs Bizarre Visual Displays

After making this sweeping speculative analysis of Misha’s encounter on the phone, and feeling quite proud of myself at that, I said good-bye to my contact team buddy. I set off to work, driving on the 405 Freeway. I didn’t want to be late for the noon doctors’ meeting. Back in 1994 my department was still offering fresh donuts at conference and I didn’t want to miss my share.

So, there I was, driving through a sea of cars, on what seemed like a normal Tuesday afternoon. Or was it? As I reached the middle portion of the Sepulveda Pass, I noticed something a bit strange. Above the eastern rim of the canyon, I saw two military helicopters. This in and of itself was strange. There are no major military bases located near the City of Los Angeles. What was even more bizarre was that both choppers were vintage aircraft. One was an old Sikorsky, the kind first used in the Korean War. I recognized its typical large rounded nose with the cockpit located high up above the main cabin. The other was a Huey, a Bell UH 205, the standard workhorse helicopter of the Vietnam War.

I was immediately struck by the wild colors on both craft. The Sikorsky, instead of the standard military dark green was a brilliant candy color green. It looked like something out of a circus. The Huey appeared a bit more respectable. It was painted a darker olive color, but the bright green circle surrounded the US star insignia on the side of the craft just didn’t look right. Both helicopters were slowly moving back and forth above the over the canyon. They appeared to be no more than 200 feet above the rim. This was several hundred feet below the minimum altitude required by government regulations when flying over densely populated areas.

A Coincidence or an Example of what John Keel Would call the “Reflective Factor.”

I thought to myself, “This is very strange.” I have a conversation with Misha about his sighting possibly being a simulated visual display and then I am witness to craft that were fit for a carnival. I had specifically mentioned to Misha the notion that helicopters might be used as props in his sighting. Now I was witness to not one, but two bizarre “identified flying objects.”

Was this just an amazing coincidence, or was I being given a rather theatrical visual display similar to Misha’s? The sequence of events in retrospect suggests that the “reflective” aspect of UFO intelligence as described by John Keel was in effect. I had formulated a “belief” that the craft and helicopters from the previous night were illusory in nature, and as if to confirm my “pet theory” bizarre helicopters were flying overhead. Things got even stranger however. I wondered if Misha’s sighting was a kind of a test as to whether I would choose to attempt to interact with UFO intelligence.

On the chance that the choppers were psi mediated visual displays and not “physically real” and were produced by a telepathic non-human intelligence that might be able to communicate with me, I decided to “send out” a mental message of welcome. This, after all, was part of the contact protocols that I was employing during fieldwork. As my vehicle approached the top of the Sepulveda Pass, I was doing about 55 miles per hour. I watched the helicopters located now above me and to the right. They were still moving back and forth perpendicular to the freeway.

Human Initiated Contact Event: Was a Consciousness Connection Evident?

Not actually expecting a response from the craft overhead, I sent out a mental message of welcome. My 1983 Toyota Camry reached the crest of the Sepulveda Pass. The San Fernando Valley stretched out before me. As always, I took pleasure in the spectacular panoramic view. I accelerated as I headed down the hill into the Valley. To my surprise, I noticed that the Huey had broken away from the Sikorsky. It was headed my way! Just another coincidence?

The Huey was now above my vehicle, and I noticed that it was descending rapidly. It kept pace with me, flying just a few dozen yards out front. I had a perfect view of its underbelly through my windshield. The chopper leveled out at less than 100 feet above the roadway. I could hear the chopper’s engines, but they seemed quite muffled. The roar should have been deafening, but it wasn’t. My heart pounding, I continued to silently chant welcoming thoughts.

For about one mile, we traveled together. As we passed the Sepulveda Basin Dam, the Huey moved off to the west. I looked towards the walls of the reservoir, (a favorite “shoot site” for film crews.) The large concrete plaza in front the dam was totally deserted. Apparently, the choppers were not part of a Hollywood action movie being filmed on the spillway of the reservoir.

After the medical conference, I worked an evening shift in the ER. I then called Misha and told him about the helicopters in the Sepulveda Pass. Was the appearance of the helicopters an example of the “reflective aspect” as described by John Keel? Did I really have a contact experience while driving through the Sepulveda Pass? I suppose skeptics would reject any positive interpretation of the events as nothing more than “UFO fan club wishful thinking.” Coincidence might explain all. I should point out however that prior to this experience, I had never been buzzed by a helicopter while driving, never before and never since for that matter. It all might have occurred by chance. But I don’t think so!

This multivolume work is published by the newly formed The Consciousness and Contact Research Institute (CCRI) and supports the concept that consciousness rather than mass/energy is the wellspring of creation.
