I like the way Obsidian allows me to have all files related to a project as attachments linked to the notebook notes and stored in the same vault folder. This way I don't have to micromanage folders and sub-folders anymore, I just add new files and link them to the relevant notes in a way that is context relevant.
But this means some of the file attachments can be quite big, for example meeting recordings almost 1GB in size, and on my phone I do not have as much storage available as my laptop. I could try to do a selective sync excluding the attachments folder, but I really only need to leave out the very large attachments. Anyone has suggestions for a way to manage syncing large vaults?

Great sense of humor, has a job, has goals, ambitions, love for family, we have great banter, smart, he has an adorable laugh, drives, has received higher education, beautiful eyes and gorgeous hair, respectful, has a feminine side, great at conversations, and so forth.
I have to dissolve this crush because he’s muslim, and I’m an agnostic atheist. I don’t know if there is a higher being that exists, but I do believe in science and logic of what happens in life.
I’d say I have haram written all over me. I vape, socially drink, I have beliefs that may not sit well in the Quran, sometimes I indulge in haram foods, and I live pretty selfishly.
We started creating a bond because I’ve been helping him with his English, and I’ll continue to do so in a friendly manner.
He knew about my religious views from the start, but he started showing interest by asking my relationship status, constantly striking up conversations about anything and about English, complimenting me on my intelligence, and has shown that he’s there for me if I need his help. But I’ve read that these actions, besides the first, are encouraged in Islam, like being kind and helpful.
I’m not here for advice, just looking for a place to let out the fact that I have to dissolve a crush. Unfortunate, but it may be what’s best for both of us, especially me. I’m sure I’ll learn more about him, hopefully things that will help me let go of my infatuation.

Hi everyone! I've been going for job interviews in the past few weeks and have been thinking of switching jobs for awhile. My current company is a SME, with nice colleagues, but sub-par welfare benefits. I have 12-days of AL and medical claim of less than $150 per calendar year. We have a yearly performance bonus (does not amount to 1 month) and AWS. This company is a family-run business and progression here is almost non-existent. I work in a very small team of 3 (including myself), usually always going the extra mile because my 1 out of 2 of my colleagues are not as competent and cannot be relied on during crunch time. To add, within a year, there are maybe about 4 times I was required to work for a roadshow and often times without off-in-lieu or overtime pay. It has been awhile since I felt like I haven't learnt anything from my job and my passion is slowing dying off. Besides, sometimes the company's decisions/goals are very much questionable and I feel like I no longer align with it.
On the other hand, I received offer from another SME, who is an MNC subsidiary. This company has substantial budget for marketing activities, but possibly a very small team as well. On top of a marketing manager, they have several other interns, including the position they were hiring me for. They have 14-days of AL, medical claim of $200 per calendar year. Possibly no performance bonus and AWS (still clarifying with the hiring manager). However, hearing the job scope really excited me because it was a new industry + more learning opportunities. Downside is that my superior may not have the relevant job experience, hence it may be a one-man show. During the interview, she did assured me that plans would be more structured and they do have external support from agencies, whenever needed. Similar to my current job, I would be required to work during my off-days, but the hiring manager said that it would be once a year, and the contract also indicated that the company, at it's discretion, may provide off-in-lieu (but no OT pay).
I am quite new to the job market so I wanted to ask if there are any inputs you guys might have pertaining to this. Would really appreciate any advice/tips that can help me to make a more informed decision. Thank you in advance!

My Background:
- Nationality: EU citizen
- Education: Studied in the UK for 5 years. I hold a BSc in Computer Science (First-class Honours) and an MSc in Advanced Computer Science (Merit).
- Experience: 3+ years in software development:
- 2 years at a private company
- 1 year at a government research agency working on control software for particle accelerators
- All work experience was before & during my undergrad and postgrad studies (all full-time: office, remote, and placement year).
- Relevant Languages: Fluent in English (though not a native speaker), very limited Mandarin.
- Looking to stay in Shanghai for around 2 years.
- My passport doesn't allow long-stay multi-entry L visas. I’ve managed to get a 60-day single-entry L visa before (considered rare for my passport), but I’ve been told by the visa people that I can’t stay longer than 6 months within a 12-month period using short-term L visas.
- Therefore, I need to secure a work (Z) visa or, as a last resort, an X1 student visa (though scholarship applications for this year seem to be closed).
- Applied to over 200 jobs at 100+ companies (multinationals, domestic companies, schools, etc.) in the past 2 months.
- Used multiple job platforms: LinkedIn, Indeed, GlassDoor, LaowaiCarrer, eChinaCities, HiredChina, SmartShanghai, LiePin (猎聘), and ZhiLianTuiTui (智联推推).
- Applied to a variety of positions: software-related, IT and tech support, CS/Programming & ESL teaching, customer support call centers, SEO optimization, QA/Localisation, marketing, various internships, etc.
- I've been open and flexible in my job search, willing to make sacrifices in career progression for roles I may be overqualified for or not directly related to my background.
- Multinationals seem to only need seniors or team leads with many more years of experience and have, for the most part, ghosted me.
- Expat websites are flooded with listings for teaching jobs that have good benefits and (frustratingly) loose requirements but require native English speakers.
- Many English-related jobs (localization, proofreading, digital content creation, translation QA, user research, etc.) inexplicably require native English speakers. Despite being able to excel in these roles and achieve a high IELTS/TOEFL score if needed, I am deemed unqualified solely due to my passport.
- HR on Chinese job boards have shown a lot of interest in me, but most Chinese companies don’t seem to be currently hiring international talent.
- Planning to stay in Shanghai later this year for as long as my tourist visa allows, to continue job hunting in person. I am hoping that this will simplify the process and improve my chances. I will have, at most, 3 months on my L visa.
- If during that time I still don't manage to secure work, I really won't know what else to do, as I may not be issued another L visa.

When I graduated I was titled 'engineer' but I still do mostly the same things, just with the added responsibility of fixing 3D drawings that are outdated, need a change, or just outright bad and confusing to read. I also will do quality control on parts shipping out and I'll take measurements with pyrometers, multimeters, and calipers in order to make sure that the parts were built to spec and are working (and look good and have the correct quantity). I also have to fix various machines as they break, though I do have help with that. And I was responsible for setting up the brand new hydrogen welder. Have been learning coding on the 5D cnc mill but I'm not listing that since the last time I did it was high school, though I do know how to do it just not that well.

When I graduated I was titled 'engineer' but I still do mostly the same things, just with the added responsibility of fixing 3D drawings that are outdated, need a change, or just outright bad and confusing to read. I also will do quality control on parts shipping out and I'll take measurements with pyrometers, multimeters, and calipers in order to make sure that the parts were built to spec and are working (and look good and have the correct quantity). I also have to fix various machines as they break, though I do have help with that. And I was responsible for setting up the brand new hydrogen welder. Have been learning coding on the 5D cnc mill but I'm not listing that since the last time I did it was high school, though I do know how to do it just not that well.

Hair particles were way too demanding so I opted for Gscatter which is manageable on my rig. Problem: The main problem I have now is I have no clue how to add the lines of the football field to grass that was made using gscatter. Is there a simple trick? —— My original plan was to export the model as fbx and map the second image onto the model in substance painter, but when I export as fbx it only exports one grass model… so I tried to convert to mesh and join the plane and grass, but I got an error that told me I needed a mesh to do that, so I tried to realize instances in geo nodes, and my blender immediately crashes every time…and if I turn off the view port render for gscatter then the grass disappears when I realize instances, so I can’t bring it into substance painter. Is there anyway to map the second image onto the gscatter grass with the grass texture?! |

I have mental health issues like depression and anxiety and have worked at this place for 3.5 years (England)
Since I came back from the mat leave, my line manager was off with me due to my 1 year old getting sick on the nursery as she just joined it.
My line manager shouted at me, that led to depression relapse. Please note that I was admitted to mother and baby unit when my post-partum depression was quite bad 1.5 month after my baby was born.
I went on sick leave for 12 days and when I came back, I told HR that my depression is getting worse due to my line manager as I was much better and off medications before I joined the work after mat leave.HR was being very rude towards me and forced me to make eye contact with my line manager.
HR was still not changing the line manager and I got pissed off and told them that why are you not understanding, she is harming me by her volatile nature and my child is suffering as I can't even play with her.
Line manager said that I am a bully and aggressive. So an informal investigation was conducted in which she retracted her bullying allegations and said I was aggressive when I asked them (HR) for changing the line manager.
Eventually, the line manager was changed and I mended relationship with my previous line manager as I got to know she was suffering from menopausal issues, that explained her behaviour and I moved forward.
Since I completed all my goals, I got good end of year review by the interim manager. I changed the nursery and got my child into a childminder setting for less sickness.
In January, I got a new line manager who seemed really level headed and kind. Owing to my depression and anxiety, I was seeking validation from him (like job well done etc.) by showing him my data (I am a researcher), he was always humble and nice and we brainstormed.
Then after three months, I suddenly had a performance review and was told that I do not show enough independence in performing my work, I seek help from my line manager (who is not even trained in my field - it is a matrix management). The project lead said that I share too much data with them - I over communicate via teams. The project lead made a teams group in which he added my line manager and I, and made me prepare weekly plans for the work package. I thought, if I share my data with them, they will see how hard I am working and how everything is according to the timeline. Several (not all) colleagues feel that the project lead is a narcissist.
But no, my line manager ambushed me with this sudden performance review in which me mentioned that if I don't improve within three weeks, I will be put on PIP.
I had such a bad depressive episode that I got suicidal. My anti--depressant dose got increased and my psychiatrist said, it is the work which is causing you issues, no dose will help you. This issue needs to be sorted.
I am on sick leave now. The attitude of my line manager has shocked me. He never gave me any feedback before, if he did, I would have happily changed myself according to what they wanted. But he rather started a performance review with director and HR involved. This broke my trust and me. He was writing all the small points throughout those three months. TLDR:
Relationship of 7 years, im step dad to her kids, mine are a bit older, we were everyones goal couple apparently. She has bad relayionship with all males in her family and extremely successful businessperson incl hyper independence. I am SA and she is DA I strongly believe. When we split she did it by tezt after not responding much in the days before. I reached out and asked if we should go to counselling and she responded no we broke up.
I went NC from then, my friends say shes complaining about all of my insta stories showing me moving on and when one said to her that everyone knew that I loved her she lost control and sobre uncontrollably.
Two days ago i get a message " hey, I rang your mum, she says youre happy and moving on with a fresh start in life."
I didnt respond but thinking i should just light hearted reach out back with an equally neutral question asking about the kids and wishing her a good week?
Theres no cheating or anything else, Im amgry but im also very secure and pretty experienced in life, I can manage a return to comuns to see if she will go to counselling but wondering the best way?

Hi all, I’ve successfully build a Docker image and pushed it to Dockerhub registry with pipelines, but now I’m a bit stuck on how to host and serve it. I know I can install Docker on my vps, pull and then run it, but then I need to map the domain, set up ssl etc… so I thought there must be some service for managing this type of thing.
I’ve been tinkering with Dokku but getting very frustrated as the docs seem outdated, and deploy from image hangs without error. I also see Caddy recommended, is this a good option? Any super simple tutorials that will tell me how to achieve my goal? At the moment I have only one image but will want to manage more in the future.
Any help appreciated!
