Hello Islanders,
I’m looking for some feedback and suggestions from this wonderful community.
Over the past few months, we’ve been working on a startup here in PEI which can help our community make some extra cash from home. We all know that our house is considered an asset, yet many of us still struggle with mortgage payments and often wonder why our asset isn’t helping more.
Our idea is simple: rent out your unused space – whether it’s a garage, driveway, shed, or basement – to people who need it for parking or storage. And don’t worry, we’ll handle all the details to make it hassle-free for you.
We’re excited to launch in PEI on July 1st, and we also have special perks for our early property owners.
I’d love to hear any suggestions or questions you might have. The startup is called StorNextDoor.com – think of it as “Airbnb for your garage.”
Thanks a ton for your help.

2024.06.02 08:37 ScaryBarrry About Makkari…

Hello all! This is my first posting here. The other day I watched the first 45 minutes of Eternals, and I will watch the rest soon. I was just interested in the reasoning behind Makkari being deaf. I understand the whole spiel about deaf representation and I’m totally cool with that. A deaf superhero is a cool idea. We have daredevil and he is blind, what’s the problem with the opposite? There isn’t. However, I do have a problem with the logic behind it. At first I thought ‘why would a person from an advanced civilization be deaf? Wouldn’t their technology be advanced enough that they would be able to heal that? I then did some research and foldouts out that they aren’t from a planet called Olympia, but are synthetic beings created by a Celestial (Arashooba or something). I read on another Reddit thread that she was designed to be dead because it allows her to reach her full potential with her power being speed. Sonic booms being a weapon and such. Here’s where I get to the main issue - the Eternals are shown to have suits that materialize from nothing. Couldn’t Makkari just materialize some ear protection? And don’t give me something along the lines of “well, ear protection doesn’t protect 100%”. This is comic book movie with advanced technology; there’s a big green guy that gets angry and a wizard who can go into a dimension where he and everything else is made of paint. Why didn’t arashooooba think of that!
Also side note, why didn’t the Eternals have a blind member, what’s up with that?

2024.06.02 08:25 _garmonbozia_ Should I cut?

Should I cut?
Hi all, my Painted Lady Philodendron's recent growth is smaller than it used to be. I'm tempted to cut the plant where you see the red mark and try to propagate the whole upper part without splitting it leaf by leaf. I would then plant the rooted piece together with the original plant, when ready. Bad idea?

🔗Reliable, LED Distress Flare for Safe Navigation

https://preview.redd.it/zzs62njqp34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=240c4e8fd834bf3f8ff087f52826ee983db02bc0
As a boater, I've always been wary of traditional pyrotechnic flares for safety reasons. That's why, when I came across the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare & Flag, I knew I had to give it a try. This innovative device has been designed to provide a safer, more reliable alternative to traditional pyrotechnic flares and can even be carried in lieu of them.
What stood out the most was the 360-degree visibility from over six miles away. Not only did it provide excellent visibility during emergencies, but it also had a significantly longer burn time than traditional flares. Its lightweight, compact size, and floatability made it incredibly easy to use – all while being fungus, corrosion, and water-resistant.
The ACR ResQFlare also comes with a distress flag, which, when carried together, qualifies as a replacement for traditional pyrotechnic flares. It's a perfect addition to any ditch bag, especially considering that it doesn't go out of date, saving me time and avoids the hassle of replacement.
One downside I faced was the lack of a lanyard attached to the device. While it floats upright in water, there are better options available that might be more visible in daylight compared to the ACR ResQFlare. However, as a safety device, the ACR ResQFlare still gets the job done without the risk of fire or injury.
In conclusion, the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare & Flag is a great addition to any boater's safety arsenal. It's easy to use, safe, and provides excellent visibility during emergencies. Its longevity and added convenience make it a worthy choice as a replacement for traditional pyrotechnic flares.

🔗ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare Kit for Maritime Safety

https://preview.redd.it/92rrqywqp34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e11b308d08b2d402ce3c254de0f19a9912a2816
As someone who spends quite a bit of time on the water, I've often found myself worried about carrying traditional pyrotechnic flares due to their potential hazards. That's why I was thrilled to try the ACR ResQFlare E-flare and Drybag Safety Kit. This handy device is an excellent alternative - it's compact, easy to use, and most importantly, safe.
One of the features that stood out for me was its daytime distress flag. This flag is bright and noticeable, ensuring that I could be seen even in daylight conditions. Carried together with the ResQFlare, they meet the applicable U. S. Coast Guard requirements, making them a reliable safety tool to carry on my boat.
Of course, like any product, there are a few aspects I would have liked to see improved. The ResQFlare could benefit from a more durable design, as the plastic casing feels a bit flimsy. Additionally, considering the cost, I would have expected the kit to come with more than just one distress flag.
Overall, the ACR ResQFlare E-flare and Drybag Safety Kit has become an essential part of my boating gear. It provides a safe and effective way to signal for help in case of an emergency, and I feel more confident knowing I have it on board.

🔗Premium Extend-A-Fender Flares for Ultimate Tire Coverage

I recently added the Bushwacker 20971-02 fender flares to my car, and let me tell you, they looked pretty good on there. These flares are a bit on the thin side but once I installed them, they felt pretty sturdy.
The biggest downside was the rubber weather-strip, it kept falling off and seemed to be made of a poor quality material. I ended up having to call Bushwacker and they sent me a replacement part.
Overall, I'm happy with the product, but I wish the rubber weather-strip was of higher quality.

🔗Bushwacker Max Coverage Pocket Style UV-Protected Fender Flares

I've had the pleasure of trying out the Bushwacker Max Coverage Pocket Style Fender Flares, and I must say, I'm impressed! These bad boys add an extra 2.25 inches of tire coverage from the wheel well, which is perfect for my truck's bigger tires and wider wheels. The aggressive off-road style they bring to the table is truly one of a kind.
The fender flares install easily right out of the box, and they're built tough with Dura-Flex 2000 material. It's wrap-resistant and boasts added durability and flexibility on the trail, thanks to its thick construction. Despite their rugged appearance, these fender flares are a piece of cake to install without any drilling, and they blend in seamlessly with the rest of my truck's bodywork.
Sure, there can be a few minor hiccups in painting them to match your ride, but overall, the Bushwacker Max Coverage Pocket Style Fender Flares are an excellent investment for truck and SUV owners looking for enhanced tire coverage.

🔗Versatile 3/32" Thick Acrylic Sheet for Bulk Purchase

I recently got my hands on a 3/32" thick Cast Acrylic sheet, measuring 6" wide and 6" long. As someone who appreciates the unique blend of function and aesthetics, this product was a delight to work with. With its optically clear nature, it allowed me to create projects that were visually pleasing while maintaining strength and durability.
Despite being quite small, this sheet still served its purpose well in a variety of applications. Its moisture-resistant properties ensured that my work kept its clear edge even in humid conditions. The fact that it's thin made it lightweight to handle and easy to cut, making it a favorite for my DIY projects.
However, it's worth mentioning that while the product is strong, it might not be ideal for projects requiring extreme durability or heavy-duty usage. Additionally, if you're planning larger projects, you might find that ordering these sheets in bulk would be more convenient.
Overall, this Cast Acrylic sheet proved to be a reliable and versatile tool for my crafting needs. Whether you're a hobbyist or a professional, this product could have a place in your toolbox.

I recently gave the SOURCEONE. ORG Premium 1/4 Clear Acrylic Plexiglass Sheet a try in my home renovation project, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. I used it for my kitchen window replacement, and it offered the perfect balance of durability and style. The clear 1/4 inch thick acrylic was incredibly easy to work with - I was able to saw, route, drill, form, bend, and even cement it without any hassle.
The result? . A stunning, sturdy window that has held up great against the outdoor elements. The best part? .
It's lighter and stronger than glass, making it an excellent investment for any outdoor application. Highly recommend! .

🔗Bushwacker FF Extend-A-Fender for Chevrolet: Premium Protection and Stylish Flare

https://preview.redd.it/1709b7lsp34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=08b0629a4fd8671ff89c840baa49f81bd7ce54cb
Just a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon the Bushwacker Extend-A-Fender Flares. I had been looking for a durable and stylish fender flare for my Chevrolet truck. With Bushwacker's reputation for quality and performance, I decided to give them a try.
First of all, installing these flares took no more than 10 minutes, even for someone like me with minimal car modification experience. One look, and I was sold on their sleek and modern design, perfect for my truck.
What stood out the most were the materials used. Dura-Flex 2000 material offers durability, flexibility, and built-in UV protection. It's safe to say that these flares have become an integral part of my truck's exterior, and the 2.25-inch tire coverage is just an added bonus.
But what sets them apart from other flares on the market is the fact that they resist chalking, cracking, and warping. I've had several cars and trucks over the years, and this is the first time I've found a product that genuinely stands up to wear and tear.
However, one downside I noticed was that the flares' finish seemed to get a little scuffed during the installation process. But since they're sold in an OE matte black finish, it blends in quite nicely. If you're someone who likes to personalize their look, you could always paint them to match your vehicle's color scheme.
All in all, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Bushwacker Extend-A-Fender Flares have been a game-changer for my car's overall appearance and performance. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade the look of their vehicle.

What stood out to me the most was its strength and durability. As someone who loves DIY projects, I appreciated that this product could be heated and shaped without breaking it. It was also incredibly easy to cut through it, leaving no traces of cracking.
The transparency of this acrylic sheet was exceptional, and its light transmission properties made it perfect for displaying delicate objects. In fact, its smooth surface and high hardness made it an ideal replacement for glass, allowing me to create a custom protective cover for my aquarium.
However, one downside I noticed was the thickness of the acrylic sheet. While it was strong and durable, it also made it a bit cumbersome to handle during certain projects. But overall, my experience with this acrylic sheet was pleasant, and I appreciate the versatility it offers for various applications.

But don't think these treats are just for kids. The sophisticated combination is perfect for adults to enjoy.
Just looking at the elegantly crafted chocolate gifts is like savoring the promise of indulgence that awaits each day until Christmas. Each piece, from the decadent milk chocolate to the divine dark chocolate, is a testament to Ferrero's dedication to quality.

I recently came across the R600a refrigerant, a life-saver when it comes to refrigeration units that require this specific type of refrigerant. The size of 14.8 ounces or 420 grams made it perfect for my needs, fitting nicely in my refrigerator.
The EPA's approval of R600a and its adherence to the regulations in 40 CFR Part 82.17 provided me with peace of mind. Using it as per their guidelines gave me confidence in the product.
One of the standout features for me was its purity, boasting a 99.7% pharmaceutical-grade quality. This high purity level ensured the efficient functioning of my refrigeration unit, and it didn't disappoint.
However, there was one downside that I encountered during my use. Despite the decent amount of refrigerant provided, it didn't last as long as I desired, and I had to make more frequent replacements than expected.
Overall, while the R600a refrigerant did its job in keeping my refrigerator cool and maintaining a consistent temperature, I wish it lasted a bit longer.

I recently gave the Fab Glass and Mirror Plexiglass Sheets a try, and I must say, they've been a game-changer in my daily life. These sheets provide a clear and sturdy alternative to glass, and I've found that they're ideal for a variety of applications. Whether I'm crafting a DIY photo frame or creating a chic welcome sign, the plexiglass sheets never fail to impress.
The most impressive feature is their durability. They've withstood quite a few knocks and scrapes without showing any signs of wear and tear. And the best part? They're just as effective outdoors as they are indoors, making them an excellent choice for a wide range of applications. The clarity of these sheets has also proven to be a major selling point. They allow light to pass through effortlessly, making them perfect for display cases and signage.
That being said, I did experience a minor drawback. The sheets do tend to attract dirt easily, which can be a bit of a hassle when it comes to cleaning. Overall, however, the pros far outweigh the cons, and I'd definitely recommend these plexiglass sheets to anyone in need of a clear and sturdy material for their projects.

🔗Cricut Acetate Sheets for Cutting Plotters: 12x12cm Transparent Sheets

https://preview.redd.it/jh1x5uxvp34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae7277dd1a69dc73305c266b044fb5833e791351
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Cricut Acetate Sheets, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! I was working on a project that required some extra-clear stencils, and these sheets were the perfect solution. The best part? They worked perfectly in my Cricut machine without any issues.
The acetate sheets were incredibly easy to use, and the stencils I made came out looking flawless. I especially loved the protective film on both sides of the sheets, which kept them looking pristine until I was ready to start cutting. The acetate itself was crystal clear, making it a great choice for any project where a clean and precise cut is essential.
However, I did notice that the acetate can be a bit fragile if not handled with care. I had a few accidents where the sheets scratched or got a few small dings, but luckily, they were easily fixed with a bit of polishing. Overall, I'm thrilled with the Cricut Acetate Sheets and will definitely be using them in future projects. Highly recommended!

🔗Powerful Honda-Engine Aerator for Lawn Maintenance

My first experience with the Billy Goat PL1800 Mechanical Aerator was nothing short of impressive. The powerful Honda GX120 engine, offering up to 118cc, makes short work of those pesky aerating tasks, clearing up to 22,000 sq ft with ease. Its foldable handle truly comes to the rescue when it comes to transporting this beast between jobs, as well as providing a compact storage solution when not in use. I was amazed at how effortlessly it maneuvered over rough terrain, thanks to its 12-inch semi-pneumatic tires that add not just stability but ease of operation as well.
However, there were a couple of cons I noticed too. The maintenance aspect, although easy with one-piece removable covers, could be more convenient with a bit of tool-free access. Also, this behemoth could do with some noise reduction – a feature that would be welcomed by any lawn-loving neighbor. All in all, it's no wonder why this PL1800H model is the go-to choice for many lawn enthusiasts. Yes, it's a bit noisy, and the maintenance might be slightly tricky at times. But the power, the maneuverability, and that green, lush lawn it provides? Worth every penny.

These Cricut Clear Acetate Sheets were recently making a major splash in my daily crafting routine. Perfect for stamping, embossing, or cutting, these sheets have become indispensable for my creative projects. Not only have they found their way into crafting gift boxes, they also came in handy when I was making custom window cards for friends' birthdays. One of the key selling points of these sheets is their anti-scratch film, ensuring that the product remains in prime condition till the very end. With their ability to work seamlessly with Cricut machines or any other sturdy crafting machinery out there, I knew I had stumbled upon a product that would become a staple in my craft room for ages to come.
The user-friendly aspect of these sheets was definitely a standout feature. Not only were they easy to use, but they also made my project look so much better in an instant. In terms of drawbacks, there was a minor issue with the sheets potentially scratching easily especially after the protective film was removed. However, with a bit of extra care during handling, this was something entirely manageable.
My experience with these sheets was absolutely fantastic! They have been the perfect addition to my crafting arsenal. Their versatility never ceases to amaze me. No matter what project I throw at them, they always seem to pull through with flying colors. I highly recommend investing in these sheets for your next project, no matter what it may be.

Bag restoration/cleaning tips needed!
Hello! Reposting this because I didn’t realize I couldn’t add pics later 😅 I’m new to Reddit, only downloaded for this juicy group. Anyway, I bought this bag today and it is a fixer upper! The bottom is peeled off and I was given the idea to take leather paint in a similar shade and go over the area, what do you guys think?
And what is the best way to go about cleaning/managing the interior pockets where it is peeling? It is also peeling on the seam lines a bit.
It’s also missing the charm, ribbon, and heart mirror, so if anyone has any links I would appreciate those! I want to restore this bag as best I can for myself, it will be used a lot so I am kinda glad it’s not perfect, I’d fear to ever touch it if it was pristine. I didn’t think I’d end up with this piece so soon considering how pricey they can be, so I am super thrilled even with the condition. I’ve never restored bags before so any tips or ideas is greatly appreciated!!!

https://preview.redd.it/ja2b7lv4p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c22b1f25e5a77ceb54c08dc24d442b72edf65c3d

During my time sailing on the open seas, I encountered a predicament where my boat's batteries were not being charged properly. That's when I stumbled upon the Blue Sea 7621100 ml ACR Charging Relay. This ingenious device quickly solved my problem, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
The Blue Sea Charging Relay has an automatic charging system that manages the charging of two large battery banks, which was essential in my case. Additionally, it allows me to parallel my battery banks during emergency starting, providing me with that extra peace of mind while out at sea.
Another impressive feature was the 500 Ampere continuous rating, which supported my high-output alternators. This device truly proved its worth by handling the heavy-duty charging tasks with ease.
However, there was one minor issue I encountered - the dual sensing system that senses the charge on both battery banks sometimes caused a bit of confusion while troubleshooting. But overall, the pros outweighed the cons, and I wholeheartedly recommend the Blue Sea 7621100 ml ACR Charging Relay to any sailor in need of a reliable battery management solution.

🔗Alpha Wire 2844/7 Black Hook-Up Wire (24AWG, 304.8m)

https://preview.redd.it/j3j1u6c5p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97c62f850a237c37eb6f15a071d9d5c26620aa60
The Alpha Wire 2844/7 BK001 hook-up wire is the perfect solution for your electrical needs. It's a 24AWG stranded copper wire that's silver-coated for enhanced conductivity.
The black PTFE jacket provides an excellent insulating layer, making it durable and resistant to wear and tear. The wire is compact, with a 0.036" diameter and a thickness of just 0.006", allowing for easy installation without compromising on its strength. And with a voltage rating of 250V, you can rest easy knowing that it's perfectly designed to handle most household appliances.
I've found that not only does it work well in my daily life, but it's also quite reliable in terms of durability. Overall, this 2844/7 BK001 hook-up wire from Alpha Wire is a top-notch product that I would highly recommend to anyone in need of a reliable hook-up wire.

🔗ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System: MOB Alert with Ultra-Bright LED and Audible Alarm

https://preview.redd.it/wlecdi06p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b800e5142af720f1ec92550a3f19845540f0f8d5
I recently had the chance to try out the ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System, and I must say, it's a game-changer for boaters. This small yet powerful device has saved me on more than one occasion. Say goodbye to those "Man Overboard" panics and hello to a reassuring safety net for your crew.
One thing that stood out to me was the base station's ability to connect with up to 15 wearable or float transmitters. It's like having a virtual lifeline for your crew, all within arm's reach. I particularly love the option to connect to the ACR Olas mobile app, which provides directional screens and essential MOB positioning prompts during recovery operations.
However, there were a few things I wish were different. For example, the device could be a bit more user-friendly, especially for people who may not be comfortable using technology. Also, I found the wearable transmitters to be a bit bulky, which might be an issue for those who want a sleeker look. But overall, the ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System certainly has my seal of approval.

🔗ACR HydroFix EPIRB Release Unit: Seamless Emergency Beacon Release

https://preview.redd.it/57x7v0h6p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff1d8c07162364b1500a9a3a63945bc6e500b675
I recently had the chance to try out the ACR Sea Shelter unit, part of the HydroFix Hydrostatic Release Unit family, and let me tell you, it truly lives up to its reputation as a reliable and user-friendly device.
One of the standout features of this unit is its compatibility with various ACR EPIRB categories. I found the installation process to be incredibly smooth, thanks to the included ACR Sea Shelter, Sea Shelter2, and Sea Shelter3 brackets. These brackets made fitting the unit onto my EPIRB a breeze.
Another great aspect of this release unit is its lack of reliance on battery, blade, or pyrotechnic device to release the beacon when an emergency occurs. The design is built for a quick, seamless, and dependable release in such situations.
However, I did notice that this product is date-stamped and must be replaced every two years from the date of installation or four years from the date of manufacture. While this might seem like a minor inconvenience, it's a good incentive to ensure your device is always up-to-date and functioning at its best.
Overall, my experience with the ACR Sea Shelter unit was very positive. The ease of installation, reliable release mechanism, and compatibility with various EPIRBs make it a valuable investment for anyone looking to ensure their safety at sea. Highly recommended!

🔗Compact, Resilient Personal Locator Beacon with Return Link Service

The ACR ResQLink View RLS beacon I've been using in my outdoor escapades is a remarkably compact and robust device. It's been meticulously designed, tested, and engineered to withstand even the most extreme environmental conditions. This beacon is also buoyant, which gives it an added edge in watery adventures.
One feature that really stands out is the Return Link Service (RLS) functionality. It's reassuring to know that if I ever need help, my distress message will be received, and my location detected, giving me peace of mind. The device also has a handy digital display that provides live status updates, and with no subscription needed, I don't have to worry about hidden costs.
The battery life is impressive, with a 5-year lifespan and an operational life of 28 hours. However, it's worth mentioning that the device is quite lightweight, which might affect its overall durability. But considering its excellent features and performance, I'd say the ResQLink View RLS is a top choice for anyone seeking a personal locator beacon.

🔗Raco 2844 Metallic Cast Compression Connector for EMT Conduit

https://preview.redd.it/swmbwq67p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9406a84d6abaf3b8ae7e37fc7cd81a6515416208
The Raco 2844 Cast Uninsulated Compression, aka the Acr Electronics 2844, is a meticulously crafted conduit fitting that boasts an impressive 5.0 rating out of 16 reviews. Designed for EMT conduit, this connector offers a natural finish and robust die-cast zinc construction.
As someone who's been on the receiving end of this product, their CSA and UL listed standards left me confident with the quality of the build. The 2.19 inch overall length and 3.5 inch trade size make this connector a versatile option for your conduit fittings, while the compression connector design provides secure and concrete-tight connections. The ease of wrench installation is also a major plus, as it ensures a snug fit without any hassle.
However, I should note that this connector is non-insulated, so it may not be the best option for certain applications where insulation is a requirement. Additionally, the connector's zinc material may be subject to slight corrosion over time, which could slightly hinder its longevity. Nonetheless, the Raco 2844 Cast Uninsulated Compression is a reliable and efficient conduit fitting, perfect for those seeking a solid, wrench-installed connection in their electrical projects.

🔗Alpha Wire 2844/7 BR001 Hook-Up Wire - 24AWG, Brown, 305M Cable

https://preview.redd.it/9d5e9gk7p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a8c7e9b72b1d040ac5bc56663d7684b3a59f0804
I've been using the Alpha Wire 2844/7 BR001 Hook-Up Wire for a while now, and it's been a game-changer in my daily life. The stranded copper, silver-coated conductor and PTFE jacket insulation make it a reliable and durable option, perfect for hooking up my electronic devices.
The 24 AWG wire gauge and 305m length have made it easy to work with, and I appreciate the flexibility it provides. The brown jacket insulation has a nice touch and is easy to spot in my messy workspace.
However, one thing I've noticed is that the voltage rating of 250V might not be suitable for all applications, so I had to double-check to make sure it was compatible with my devices.
Overall, the Alpha Wire Hook-Up Wire is a reliable and convenient solution for my electronics needs, and I highly recommend it for others looking for a high-quality wire.

🔗Weather-Resistant Audio Intercom with Hands-Free Loudspeaking

https://preview.redd.it/iwf03qx7p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ec4c2c0665ec78774b1e1c5f72024e2bb2066d5
Using the Alpha Communications AM612/04S in my daily life has been a breeze. The hands-free loudspeaking feature works really well, allowing me to communicate without any hassle. The weather-resistant mylar speaker is a standout feature, as it ensures the device performs optimally outdoors, withstanding various weather conditions. The self-wiping push button switches are convenient, providing hassle-free access to the intercom.
However, one downside I've encountered is the presence of plastic buttons and grille, which might not be as durable as I'd like it to be. Additionally, the decorative end caps, while visually appealing, seem a bit flimsy. I've also noticed that the slim-line surface-mount option can cause some installation challenges when mounting the device directly on the wall, despite it being easy to install overall.

🔗Violet 24AWG Alpha Wire Hook-Up

https://preview.redd.it/0qdh67g8p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=14776e54330273e6d08353a6f1830dbd2598cc93
I was tasked with reviewing an Alpha Wire 2844/7 VI001, a Hook-Up Wire with a 24 AWG copper conductor, coated in violet PTFE insulation. I found the product both durable and visually appealing. The silver coating on the conductor gives it a professional look, while the violet insulation is easier to spot in a busy lab or workshop.
However, I did notice a minor downside. Connecting and disconnecting the wire from its terminals can sometimes be a bit tricky due to the conductor's small size. Despite this minor inconvenience, the wire held up well in my daily use, and I'd recommend it for anyone seeking a reliable and attractive hook-up wire solution in their electrical projects.

🔗15A Rackmount Power Sequencer with 9 Outlets - ETL Listed, EMI/RFI Filtering, and Dual Activation Delay

https://preview.redd.it/bxeintk8p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fcf3d45eac75a7bbb9559d105613e3e3bca93def
I recently had the chance to try out Lowell ACR-SEQ4-1509 15A Rackmount Power Sequencer, and I have to say, it made quite an impact in my daily life. The first thing that caught my eye was its compact design. It fits easily into any standard rack, and its steel chassis feels sturdy and reliable.
What stood out the most for me was the sequencer's ability to control the power flow to my devices. The front rocker switch effortlessly activated and deactivated the "switched" outlets in the back. The adjustable delay of 0.5 to 10 seconds between each step allowed me to tailor the power sequence to my specific needs.
But, the highlight of this product for me has to be the LED status indicators. They are color-coded and make it incredibly easy to understand the status of each powered device. The addition of the optional momentary remote switches is also a nice touch for those who require hands-free control.
The only downside I found was the lack of an on/off switch. While not a deal-breaker for me, it may be something others consider when purchasing this power sequencer.
Overall, Lowell ACR-SEQ4-1509 15A Rackmount Power Sequencer is a handy tool that makes managing my power connections a breeze. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their power distribution.

🔗ACR ResQLink 400 Survival Kit with GPS and Distress Signal

Thinking of purchasing a low mileage S197 3V, but is it worth $18K?
My wife and I are looking for a weekend car to enjoy and I used to have an ‘06 V6 that I loved, so S197 GT’s were an obvious candidate for our new car.
Fast forward two weeks, I came across an ‘05 GT on Facebook with 29K miles, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Only two owners, both old gentlemen, garage kept and drove on the weekend, great paint with only minor imperfections (especially for 20 years), absolutely pristine interior, and a host of tasteful modifications that I would’ve probably done at some point anyways:
-Steeda CAI -Steeda chin spoiler -4.10 gears -Lightweight flywheel -Flowmaster axlebacks -Aluminum driveshaft -Probably other things, he said he’s put about $7K in parts into it and I can’t remember it all.
Pretty much the only part of it I don’t love is that he’s asking $18K for a 20 year old car, but it looks-sounds-and-drives like a dream, and the nostalgia of my old S197 is killing me. I know I could probably get something newer for that much, but I’d hope to have a long life with this car and have time to enjoy it and upgrade it some more down the road without worrying about mileage. It really seems like he’s taken good care of it and already invested some money into it, so I don’t think I’d be saving money by getting a cheaper S197 to mod myself. It sounds like I’d be lucky to get him down to $16-17K, I really don’t think he’ll budge much. My wife and I are a hair away from pulling the trigger, but I thought I’d ask around here too. Thoughts?

2024.06.02 08:07 Accurate_Context3661 Rethinking my typing again

I’m overthinking this again. Perhaps my mental state is way too erratic, but now I suddenly am thinking I’ve been too inaccurate beforehand, so now I think my typing may be wrong (again). It’s not easy to be as truthful as I can. Honestly, my view of myself is very strange. I have always been very unsure. So I wonder if I’ll get the same or a possible different answer. I apologize if I wrote way too much here or got off topic to the question.
• How old are you? What's your gender? Give us a general description of yourself.
I’m a minor (15), so perhaps accuracy could be affected by that. I’m a female. I think I’m very quiet and blend into the surroundings most of the time (and it’s not easy for me to be otherwise if I, for some reason, ever attempt to be that way). I either talk way too much, or talk too little. This is because if I don’t talk that means I really don’t know what to say, and when I end up wanting to say something it’s a lot of built up things. Also I think I end up adding random things to what I say for some reason. When I’m having a conversation, I usually spend most of the time while they’re talking thinking of how to properly respond, because I DO have an idea for what I want to say, I just don’t know how to formulate or back it up properly that quickly. For this reason, I realize I might miss out most of the details they’re saying, so I try to do both now. This is why I find texting much easier. From what I hear from others, perhaps I’m a little too reserved that it could be seen as rude. However, I myself think I talk just well enough. I’m actually somewhat hyper and energetic most of the time, but not verbally. This is because I think it would be too exhausting to express that in such ways. I think a lot about what some things mean. I’m unfortunately very quick to anger, especially if I believe someone is being way too idiotic or if I’m told I’m incorrect in how I think. Perhaps this may be normal to get annoyed about? But I know I get very irrationally angry about these. I don’t think anybody in real life would notice I have anger issues unless we’re close. I’m very neurotic. Actually, I’m going to mention that generalizing myself is difficult simply because it’s strangely difficult for myself to describe or identify my own traits. Also, it’s a bit difficult to not start explaining too much and focusing on small things (but I think I already did that).
• Is there a medical diagnosis that may impact your mental stability somehow?
No diagnosis.
• Describe your upbringing. Did it have any kind of religious or structured influence? How did you respond to it?
Religious influence? Perhaps not strongly, although my family is Christian, they are not very strict on it nor have they forced it upon me. Actually, it was very interesting and I did believe in it at first, but due to my curiosity I think I ended up asking so many questions that eventually it somehow led me to stop believing in any sort of theistic way.
• What do you do as a job or as a career (if you have one)? Do you like it? Why or why not?
I don’t have any, but I want to answer this with what I used to aspire to be. Very early on, I really wanted to be a scientist and kept insisting to be, but then lost interest, I don’t remember why, but right now I’m thinking it’s because something about it is slightly terrifying. Very recently I wanted to become a writer because I think I was very passionate about stories in general, but I have realized how unsuccessful I might be if I chase for that with the amount of motivation and skill I have for it right now, so recently I’ve been thinking I’ll do something math-related, since I am good at it.
• If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
Refreshing for most of the time, but I think I would get lonely a few times. This is assuming I have nothing else to do and can do what I want.
• What kinds of activities do you prefer? Do you like, and are you good at sports? Do you enjoy any other outdoor or indoor activities?
I don’t really know what activities I prefer, maybe more of ones that are having to do with dexterity. I am TERRIBLE at sports, I am too wary during ball games (but this is because I’ve been hurt a lot playing with other people too many times). Badminton is the sport I am best at. I can play with quite average skill there. I actually enjoy it too, but I’m not sure how to explain why, perhaps due to liking the feeling of light movements (if that sounds correct). I like to walk, it helps me think when I imagine things. I don’t like walking if I have to do anything else with it, it’s much harder to focus.
• How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?
I think I’m pretty curious. I’m not sure though. I have more ideas than I can execute ONLY BECAUSE I don’t have the required skills to execute those ideas. My curiosities are about whatever another person brings up, perhaps. Or I’m curious about people’s analysis. My ideas are very conceptual, I suppose. My ideas are more like creating a story, or combining two stories together. Or I take one small thing from a story I know of and imagine things focusing on that. I think I’m imagining too much about media I consume, but I don’t normally do otherwise.
• Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
I would enjoy it for the sake of a false sense of responsibility, either that or for the sake of trying something new that I’m not good at. However, I know I am not responsible enough to be good at it. As long as there is time for our team to do the task, I think I could possibly be able to do it. But I’m a terrible leader since I would end up being unable to think of anything. I would rather lead by being a participative leader, because that’s the only way I can lead properly.
• Are you coordinated? Why do you feel as if you are or are not? Do you enjoy working with your hands in some form? Describe your activity?
Perhaps I am coordinated, but I don’t understand this question at all. I may enjoy working with my hands. I don’t understand what this question means by “describe your activity”.
• Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.
Perhaps I am artistic, I do draw sometimes, especially if I’m bored. My art is likely just drawing humans, and nothing unordinary, just normality, I don’t know why I prefer doing so. However if I was able to draw something that was quite surreal, then I would like to do that a few times. I just wouldn’t do it all the time because I don’t think I would have that many ideas.
• What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?
The past is just gone. You apparently can’t change the past, though it would be interesting if we could go to the past. But it’s not easy for me to think so much about the past voluntarily. Sometimes I do connect the past with the future, but it’s not because I actually think hard of it, it just happens. But usually if I think about the past too much, or actually try to think of the past, the first things I start focusing on are bad memories. I did mention in previous times that I answered this sort of question that I did not like the past, but of course as long as it’s not because I’m focused on one terrible thing that happened to me or one terrible thing I did, it’s not bad. The present is just a moment and then gone. So what? Also, we’re not really in the present, are we? I don’t even know what’s going to happen in my future, so I think I can only form an opinion on the idea. I mostly have a bit of an optimistic thought that it will go well since it always isn’t as bad as I think, but at the same time there’s a feeling of dread.
• How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?
I don’t think I would react that strongly unless it is bothering me when I’m trying to do something and I’m focused on doing it. Otherwise I would try to help without feeling any bother, but I may wonder why they need my help even if it’s incredibly obvious why. If I decide to help them I’ll just do so because otherwise they’ll likely bother me with it. Either that or just because I can.
• Do you need logical consistency in your life?
I don’t think this is a good question, do some people really think they don’t need it? If there are such people, I wonder what their thought process is with that. Basically, why wouldn’t I?
• How important is efficiency and productivity to you?
I don’t think I’m efficient or have good productivity, but I do think I stress out over it. Low efficiency annoys me which is probably hypocritical. Although, I mostly do get annoyed about those when it comes to group work, because personally in those I would try my best to be efficient and productive.
• Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?
I don’t think I do, but I might have done it without noticing. I think I would likely do it if I had the incredible need to change the topic of the conversation. Otherwise I don’t think I would bother doing it, why should I care enough to control others, especially since that takes too much effort?
• What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?
I draw sometimes, to pass the time when I’m bored and to just picture things I want to picture. Also to show people. I just mostly like drawing to see the results. Strangely with painting it’s different, I just like the act of doing so, but I don’t really care about results, so it ends up very messy. I like to write sometimes but only because I get overwhelmed and end up wanting to write what has been stuck in my head for so long onto something. So I guess that’s a hobby, but it’s somewhat tiring so I don’t write for long periods of time. I do photography as a hobby, but I only picked it up because other people in my family I have noticed are incredibly terrible at taking photos, so out of annoyance I end up volunteering to do so. I end up liking it just because I like to look at how it looks on camera, I suppose. Especially with lights, because I recently noticed how it looks on photo.
• What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?
A few years ago I took a test for this kind of thing during secondary/middle school. I suppose it said auditory. Though that’s likely inaccurate now since I prefer reading the instructions and everything else, because it’s easier to figure out where to go from there and I can focus on it better. I don’t know what learning environment I struggle in most, though I do struggle slightly if I have to do exact memorization, but as long as I can attach it to something and I put effort in it perhaps it’s alright. I prefer classes with logic.
• How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
I usually improvise but have a slight idea of what I’m doing. As in, I have a slight idea on the topic but I’d rather not be rigid on it because otherwise I would be focusing too much on one thing and likely miss something that would be good to add, rather than just having an idea then adding onto it if I thought of something. I’m not sure if that counts as winging it and improvisation though. I’m not good at strategizing but I can certainly try if I have a certain goal.
• What are your aspirations in life, professionally and personally?
Improve myself in general, because what else can I do? Just be successful and become someone that has a lot of capability. That first, then I perhaps could focus on something else. My reasoning is, I don’t improve myself first, how can I actually end up being able to do any other aspirations that I have?
• What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?
I fear the idea of losing thought of everything. Or losing all rationale. I don’t know what makes me uncomfortable. I hate it when I’m dragged into something when I made it clear I would rather not be, especially when they never even told me about it until a second before dragging me into it. I hate it when people bring up something, and when I finally decide to express my thoughts about it, they talk over me or interrupt me. Either that, or they just tell me to not think so much. This is incredibly annoying to me, but I suppose it would annoy anyone.
• What do the "highs" in your life look like?
I think I would be very calm and focused. I think I would feel very lucid.
• What do the "lows" in your life look like?
I think my lows would be feeling an incredible amount of dread. Or I would be very anxious and slightly more impulsive. Though, I think nobody would notice much in real life.
• How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?
I think I do pay attention sometimes but it’s inconsistent when I do or don’t. I pay attention if I have to. I like to daydream sometimes. I’m not sure if I pay attention more or daydream more. How would I be aware of my surroundings if I do daydream though? Obviously not.
• Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about?
First of all, do I know why I'm there? If I don’t I would wonder about that. Also is it that I suddenly got there, or was I brought there? I think I wasn’t sure of any of these, especially why I’m there, then I would think I was kidnapped and just try to get out of that room. Ignoring all that, I would probably walk around a lot and think of the same things I always daydream about or imagine about. But wait, how long am I supposed to be staying there? Is there an obvious part of this room where I can just leave or is it basically just nothing? Really this is a bit too unspecific.
• How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it?
I usually try to think a lot before making an important decision, after all, there is always the chance my first idea could go wrong if I don’t think it over first. I usually doubt myself once I made that decision even though I thought it through a lot. I rarely end up regretting it and changing my mind though. However, I sometimes end up doing things on impulse either if I’m tired or for some reason I don’t even know. In which case I 100% change my mind.
• How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life?
It takes a while. I do know how I feel towards certain things but it takes time to understand or explain why, otherwise it’s difficult to express. I usually process this myself. Emotions are important, I guess. Aren’t they motivators though? It’s the entire reason why I’m actually doing anything, so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be.
• Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?
I end up doing this sometimes, just not directly saying I agree or not directly saying they are right, because most of the times I do this I do know I disagree, I just don’t have a coherent argument that is enough to be convincing, or one that is enough that my view seems rational, because most of the times I notice the other person would see the opposing viewpoint as incredibly irrational and stupid. I am working on not doing this though, because it’s likely better to make them think about it than doing nothing and keep them thinking something that they could change their mind on or I could change my mind on. Another reason why I’m working on this because I realize agreeing without actually agreeing would end up nagging me in the head.
• Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why?
No, I don't break rules often. I’m either afraid of being punished, or because I see the rules are pretty rational and I understand them, even if I wouldn’t personally impose those rules myself. It’s not too difficult for me to try and adapt to those rules if different places have different rules. I do find myself re-checking the rules a lot though. I only don’t give any mind about rules if I really hate the community or place in which these rules have been imposed on. But if I hated it in the first place, why would I even be there? Anyways, challenged or not challenged, it’s not one or the other, it really depends on how the authority does things. Consider what they’re like first and what they do in their role then judge if they should be challenged or not challenged.

2024.06.02 08:03 BeatTerrible8778 17 Year Old Girl Looking For An e-pen pal Between Ages 15-19

Hi, you can call me Alice. I am 17 and am looking for an email pen pal around ages 15-19.
I live in Australia and my hobbies are arts & craft, drawing, painting, songwriting, anything paranormal related or even supernatural, Ancient Egypt history, pirate history, folklore/mythology stories, vast collection of different music, reading, crystals. I am pagan and I love nature and love animals. I am a kind person and will respect you no matter how many differences you have. I will accept you.
I will say that the minimum time gap between sending letters back and forth that I prefer would be up to one month. My preferred maximum time is once a week. I am open to the idea that you are not obligated to wait for the other persons response before sending another letter, and I am also open to sending multiple letters if that is what you wish to do.
So am I a good match for you? :)

2024.06.02 07:46 Smooth_FM Should my first airbrush be a H&S Ultra 2024?

A few months back I picked up a generic compressor with tank and cheap airbrush. I use it to paint minis and have been really enjoying it so far.
I think I'd like to graduate from the cheapo airbrush that came with the kit and try out something a bit nicer.
After a fair bit of research, the Ultra 2024 sounds like a good option. Reasonably priced and beginner friendly. I love the idea of presets and the ease of maintenance.
Only thing is, after reading a few threads I've been getting some mixed messages. Some people love their Ultra and an equal amount appear to be having a few issues with it. I was hoping to get some more thoughts on it before pulling the trigger.
The Iwata Eclipse seems to be a crowd favourite too and isn't that much more than the Ultra, so I'm wondering if I'm better off just going with that? Though the Eclipse sounds more suited to experienced users?
Would love some thoughts from the community!

2024.06.02 07:42 ChuyMasta Going for a 100% run. Here's the hold ups

Well, I decided to torture myself and go for a 100% completion run on Baten Kaitos 1.
The 100% Completion Guide (GC) by Atomos199 is amazing. I just needed to find one thing on my own:
Sbarb is an enemy in Coccolith (Mira) not mentioned in the guide.
After that, all I got left to do is wait. My last save is right before the final boss. I am missing the following Magnus:
Peach boy to Wonder Momo. 72 hrs Rotten wood to incense. 5 hrs (I'm not sure how I missed that one) Shampoo to splendid hair. Yup, I know. 336 hrs. Lovey dovie dairy 1 to 2 & 3 . 24 hrs each Hateful Diary 1 to 2 & 3. 24 hrs each Treasured painting 50 hrs from unpopular painting.
So there it is. My plan is to leave the system on overnight. I had to mess with the hdmi settings so that the tv turns off without turning off the switch as well as the settings from sleep mode on the switch.
I'm not a fan of low % item drops from enemies. SP combo 100. Recipes 1 through 9 in order. Why did anyone think that was a good idea?
Any other frustrations anyone encountered going for 100%?
Now, does Origins have similar mechanics? What resources are out there for conpletionists?
Thanks for coming to my TED talk. I'll add more as I remember my frustrations with the completionist run.

2024.06.02 07:08 DickBiggums69 I realized why the Pip Boys are all different versions, made by the same company, but look very different

This post likely won't get many up votes, and will die in new. I might check back in a week or two when I remember it
Anyways, I had looked at the wiki for Fallout 3's Pip Boy, and read that the dial was on the left side. That got me thinking, why would RobCo release a Pip Boy that's not ergonomic? Why it have different versions? It would be like it Apple sold the Iphone 4, Iphone X, and Iphone 15 or whatever we're on in different regions. INB4 Bethesda / Black Island didn't design them earlier, so Rob Co couldn't make them. I also haven't played 1, 2 so I'm going off the wiki. Lore wise, Vault Tec took decades to make the vaults. So Rob Co had time to keep developing them, if the war ended they'd get sold as a product (The House really does always win, I guess. Vault Tec would have made useless bunkers for a war that didnt happen with experiments that were evil, and Rob Co would have a wearable computer that's a terminal you wear) But the main vaults of the games would have influenced the design and usage of every Pip Boy Rob Co gives you. For my explanations, I'll refer to the experiments as "pranks" because it's funny
Fallout 1, 2, 76: The Pip Boy 2000 being the big bulky early version Rob Co wouldn't want to sell to the public. Vault Teks pranks were broken water chip for Fallout 1, Start in the village for Fallout 2, and Fallout 76 opens early. I think Fallout 1's vault wasn't intended to be opened, but they wouldn't bother to upgrade their devices across a hundred vaults. For 76, if you're going to open it early, why bother to give them a recent version. Eventually they had Radios, Geiger Counters, Tape Decks, all kinds of stuff surface dwellers need. The life data sensors wouldn't needed for if the vault gets opened, because how do you even collect that data then
Fallout 3, New Vegas: The Pip Boy is less bulky, but has the dial on the left side. Considering your right hand controls the dial, it blocks the screen. Most importantly, the Biometric lock. For whatever reason, 10 year olds get them. They wouldn't be fully grown, so their arm size wouldn't make that work long term. There must be some way to open it, like Doctor Mitchell did to switch out the foam, rubber inserts or whatever is in there. But, Vault 101 was never intended to be opened. Vault Tec would want them to have them on as often as possible, in order to gather data. To make then inconvenient to discourage constant usage, they move the dial. That keeps people doing whatever you do in a vault instead of messing around on their wrist mounted computers
Fallout 4, and TV Show: They both use the same model 3000, but one has a paint job. However, Vault 111 only had a single one. Since that vaults purpose was to freeze people, they didn't need everyone. Since Vault Tecs prank for that vault was freezing people, and then locking like 8 in there without much food or water, the Pipboy was only in there for the scientist to close the door. Even the overseer didn't get a Pip Boy. That brings up something I forgot to mention. Admin vs Regular versions. The scientists Pip Boy would be a version with fully unlocked capabilities, for opening doors and such. Vault Tec would hate for any vault dweller to be able to just open the door and kill everyone from radiation. For other vaults, maybe it's the areas that Vault Tec decides what version that would best suit the experiments? Obviously its beceause Bethesda wants to make only one Pip Boy model instead of making multiple for random people. In the show, everyone has a silver metal looking Pip Boy. If I had to guess, that's probably next to final version Rob Co would have designed. At that point, they'd have perfected something they could sell to the public. Once the swapped out the Geiger counter for, a flash light or something. The average Vault dweller could play Holotapes, check the radio, stuff like that. Certain ones would be equipped with the door key,and they would have a secret stash of admin Pip boys somewhere (Please don't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen the show)
Fallout 5: Bethesda seemingly has perfected the Pip Boy. Aside from a flash light, I can't think of much else they'll need. Walkie Talkie Voice Chat maybe? Well, a key board would probably be something Rob Co should add if it's going to be a computer instead of a highly advanced heart beat monitor. I read a good idea somewhere, a traveling salesman who sells you different versions from the games that work as the player menu. But that would mean he had been traveling across the entire country, and has a way to keep finding Pip Boys
Edit: I realized what Rob Co could swap out. Since it wouldn't always be needed, that white plug thing on the back. Or maybe that plugs into a keyboard while you just remember the words you typed. Or it could flip the screen sideways to make it easier to read.
Edit 2: Vault Tec did have a stand for it in Vault 76. A real company made a replica of it for the replica Pip Boy from 76. Aside from the small screen, that would be a great product for use on a desk like a computer

2024.06.02 07:00 thepoet_muse What careers would you advise for someone with a feminine, wild romantic nature who loves fairy tales.

Oh and who loves poetry. Some ideas I’ve come up with this afternoon are;
Ideal livelihoods this afternoon
—————————
Making lace dresses and bridal gowns with pretty moonstone and diamond beads, the finest lace, velvet, embroidery and ornament.
Studying the otherworld in depth with antiquarian books etc and writing illustrated books on it.
Painting all night on cotton paper with inks and charcoal and gouache or on canvas too.
Writing poetry or romance / magical realism novels or retelling fairy tales, writing generally at a little desk in my cottage with views to the sea.
Home-maker, just nesting, tidying and decorating my home.
Tour guide for country estates and manor houses.
Making beautiful gemstone jewellery with fresh water pearls, sapphires, lariats, vermeil beads etc. I’ve done this before and did really well.
Writing a book on lovers of mythology and lore and filling it with classical poetry, art and the stories and one on otherworldly lovers too (e.g sirens, etc)
Perfumery, make natural organic botanical perfumes like my third great grandmother Elizabeth. They would be made with magical properties in glass bottles with velvet ribbon.

2024.06.02 06:55 mansplanar The 11 Best Bumble Prompts and How to Answer Them to Strategically Meet Your Match

Somewhere between 90 and 95% of openers I get are either "hi" or "hey." So literally anything else puts you sonewhere in the top 10%. Even "HEY ASSHOLE! would at least be memorable. So I wouldn't sweat it too much; the bar is set really low.
If you're really insistent, though, it's thd same sort of stuff women want in an opener, just with waaaayyyy less competition. And if you can somehow prove you're not a scammer while you're at it, even better.
The opener I start with is usually something easy to answer and invites a thoughtful response. Such as, "What is your go to karaoke song?" or "What's your favorite thing about living [insert city]"? or "What's your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?"
I usually get the conversation started and then if he doesn't match my energy, I unmatch.
One of my favorite opening lines I got from a guy was “Hi there! Let me know what you think of the following:
A white picket fence house, a couple dogs, some nice cars, maybe a boat for weekend trips to the lake, and we can do that for about 5 years until you get sick of me. After that we divorce, I let you keep everything, and we’ll call it a good time!”
Made me laugh and for being an introvert who struggles immensely with conversation this helped relax me instantly.
The online dating world is vast, with a plethora of apps to choose from. However, according to a study by Statista, one outranks them all when it comes to finding love: Bumble. The app, known for letting women make the first move, has since expanded into a networking platform for building both friendships and professional connections. But if you’re still interested in using Bumble for its original intent, you might be wondering how to go about answering all those Bumble prompts, of which there are over 40 to choose from. Here, we’ve rounded up ten of the best Bumble prompts, plus example answers. So fill out that profile, pick your preferred zodiac sign to date (it’s Pisces, right?) and watch the notifications roll in—before you know it, you’ll be needing a spreadsheet to track all those dates.
How Do You Write a Good Bumble Prompt?
The best way to write a good Bumble prompt response is to be honest, specific and positive, according to experts. If you leave your profile generic (or worse, empty), you’re not giving dates enough information to work with so that they can start a conversation. So, focus on being clear about what you want (without being a negative nelly) and don’t be afraid to throw a little humor in there, too. After all, laugher is proven to help us relax, and when we feel at ease, we’re more comfortable sharing about ourselves and learning about others.
The Best Bumble Prompts and How to Answer Them
  1. Perfect First Date...
This Bumble prompt is a great way to let potential matches know what you’re expecting, so be specific. “Drinks” is not going to cut it. Instead, write out a little itinerary—it doesn’t have to be incredibly detailed, but it should give someone an idea of what you enjoy. Maybe it’s a picnic in a park. Perhaps you lean towards the classic dinner and a movie, or you love art museums, comedy clubs and bookstores.
What you can say:
Catching a flick (sci-fi or rom-com) followed by dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant in Los Angeles. If the sky is clear, we’d drive up to Griffith Park and have a little La La Land moment.
Picnic in Central Park and then a ride in a rowboat—you’re doing the rowing, of course. We’d top it off with ice cream and maybe a bookstore jaunt.
We’d eat our way through Smorgasburg in Brooklyn and then sit on the pier looking at the Manhattan skyline as the sun sets.
  1. I Get Way too Excited About...
Behavioral scientist and author Logan Ury advises that a successful dating profile makes it easy for someone to start a conversation with you. Use this prompt to talk about something you’re passionate about. Restaurant openings, golf, Bluey, painting, opera, rock climbing, cooking, Paris, Marvel...whatever you can’t stop talking about goes right here. Don’t worry about appealing to the masses—the right person, who might also love these things (or just love how much you love them), will come.
What you can say:
Paris in the springtime. I took a gap year there and love going every April to see the cherry blossoms, and one day I’d love to do a tour through Provence to see the lavender, too.
Rock climbing. I’m at the climbing gym at least twice a week and love going bouldering once a month with my club. If you haven’t seen Free Solo, you’re missing out.
Broadway shows. Every year, my dad and I spend a weekend in NYC marathoning every single musical we can get tickets for. I’ve seen Phantom of the Opera five times and yes, I’m crushed that it’s closing.
  1. A Pro and Con of Dating Me...
Stay away from the “beige flags” here. Ury has previously explained that beige flags are clichés, and the whole goal here is to stand out. So be honest and own both your pros and cons, all while finding a way to keep it lighthearted. Debbie-downers aren’t good first impressions.
What you can say:
Pro: I’m a great baker, so you’ll always have fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. Con: I’m definitely a planner and being spontaneous can be hard, but I’m working on embracing last-minute adventure.
Pro: I’m on the pulse of the restaurant scene and always have great recs. Con: I can’t stand the MCU. (But I’ll make an occasional concession.)
Pro: I’ll never ask you to TikTok dance with me. Con: I can be slow replying to texts—but I’m working on it!
  1. A Non-Negotiable...
This Bumble prompt is important because it can be your deal breaker, however, avoid being super negative. We all have our icks, but as dating coach Lindsay O’Brien has told us, you don’t want to spiral on a list of things you don’t want, because it can imply emotional baggage. (That’s not a bad thing and a lot of us have it—it’s just not something you might want to spill in the “handshake” phase of dating.) Use this prompt to reveal qualities, values and even shared dreams/goals you’d like the person to have.
What you can say:
Great communicator.
You like and are conversational about art, books and travel.
You think living abroad for a few years sounds like an ultimate bucket-list adventure.
  1. My Real-Life Superpower Is...
This one can be a lighthearted icebreaker or a lean more serious. Whether it’s a quirky talent or your favorite quality about yourself, share it. Just, as noted above, stay away from the clichés.
What you can say:
Making conversation with strangers and putting them at ease.
Cooking for a crowd.
Somehow always managing to win the Broadway lottery.
  1. After Work You Can Find Me...
Here’s another Bumble prompt that can show not just your interests but how you spend your time. If you’re a budding cocktail connoisseur, maybe your future date will find you at the latest trendy opening in the city. If you love art, you might be taking advantage of museums’ free admissions nights before heading home. Tell potential matches how you want to spend your time, so you don’t waste time getting to know people who aren’t interested in those things.
What you can say:
Curled in bed with a book—I live for murder mysteries, Jane Austen and fantasy novels.
At a concert; I’m obsessed with alternative rock and country music.
Baking cookies while watching the latest season of The Bachelorette.
  1. I Promise I Won’t Judge You If...
Now is not quite the time to get serious with a heavy hitter, so use this prompt to get silly and show your sense of humor, while potentially revealing your own eccentricities in the process.
You totally trip over nothing on the sidewalk, because I do that at least three times a week.
You haven’t read Pride and Prejudice, as long as you promise to watch the Kiera Knightley version with me.
You have zero sense of direction. Me too.
  1. Favorite Quality in a Person...
Here’s a chance to cast a reel for the good traits you're looking for. Again, diving deep is key, so try to avoid things like “nice.” A lot of people and things are nice. Elaborate on what you want to see in a nice person.
What you can say:
The way he/she makes eye contact with the people they speak to, making them feel seen and heard.
Remembering important dates—birthdays, anniversaries—and celebrating them.
Prioritizing others’ needs first, while still having healthy boundaries.
  1. I’m a Great Plus One Because...
A lot of your answers to Bumble prompts will be serious. This one is a chance to be less so. Flaunt your funnier side and tell them why taking you to a company party, wedding, family or other social event will be a good time.
What you can say:
I’ll totally stick by you if you’re the wallflower.
I can talk about literally any subject.
My dance moves can’t be beat.
  1. A Review from a Friend...
We want to know what other people think, so now’s the time to reel in a friend and have them give you a review. It’s always interesting to see how we are perceived by others, and as your profile is filled with prompts that you’ve answered from your own perspective, calling in a review will give potential matches a look into who you are that highlights qualities you may have glossed over.
What you can ask your friend to talk about:
Your personality traits that they like.
A favorite memory together.
Five reasons they would date you.
  1. My Favorite Quality in a Person...
Time to pull out your dream list of a person’s best qualities and...ask for them. (Gasp!) As dating coach Lindsay O’Brien has previously told PureWow, it pays to be clear up front so that the right people can find you. Just make sure to keep it positive, because listing the negatives (ex. Someone who doesn’t [insert quality here]) can suggest relationship baggage. “For example,” she says, “If you don’t want someone who is sarcastic or critical, you can say, ‘A sweet guy makes my heart melt.’”
What you can say:
A sense of humor.
Planner extraordinaire.
Thoughtfulness.

2024.06.02 06:54 ExpansionStan 34[F4R] Looking for my neurotribe

Hello R4r Melbourne,
I reach out periodically here and have met some really great folks. I've recently been diagnosed with ASD and ADHD and am looking for other people who just GET IT. You might be a spicybrain or know/live/vibe with them, at the core I'm looking for safe people to be more my authentic unmasked self. If we fell out or no response etc, Sorry, I've been going through a lot and I hope you understand (in most cases) it wasn't you.
I do have an existing friend group who are absolutely awesome, as busy individuals though, I'm finding myself doing more and more alone as these lovely humans aren't available.
About me
About you
I don't think this is a huge list of qualifiers but you never know!
Typically if we vibe in chats, we vibe in person so don't expect to meet after a few messages, that is whack. Id be happy to play video games or vibe on discord chat.
If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out! I will not respond to boring 1 word/sentence messages - effort rewards effort and there is more than enough here to go on.
Thank you for reading!

2024.06.02 06:46 mansplanar 20 Hinge Prompts to Help You Get a Response

I think “my simple pleasure” is the best prompt. If used right it’s a good way to say things you like. For example mine was- thrift stores, new tattoos, Philly sports and R&B. Really depends how you write it
As a woman, I’d advise men not to use “I won’t shut up about,” as a prompt.
Woman constantly complain about men dominating verbal conversations. Saying you “won’t shut up about…” just reinforces that you might be one of those guys.
I think if you actually have a good travel story, that prompt can work. That is to say, I think that the "tiers" really fluctuate a lot from person to person, and your qualifiers ("this works if you're funny") are kind of proof of that.
For example, I have two pretty good stories about coming face to face with sharks, and one less good story about coming face to face with a shark. I think that the shark thing is just crazy enough that it intrigues most people. But you have to have a genuinely good story for it to work.
Also, someone else said they need to get rid of prompts - I disagree. It's really annoying if you try a new prompt and then can't go back to your old one.
I think “my idea of a good Sunday” is a great prompt bc if guys include it and they say “church,” I’m 95% more likely to like them.
THERE'S AN ART to curating your Hinge profile. If you're looking for quality matches, don't be the guy with a barren profile who sends a mildly-enthused "hey, how's it going" to every potential partner. Hinge offers a feature called prompts: conversation starters that let you show yourself off and spark more substantive conversations—and you should use them to your advantage.
Choosing the right Hinge prompts—and writing good answers those prompts—will help you scan the many fish in the sea to find those most suited for you. It might sound like a daunting task to craft the perfect profile, but at least you're an expert in the subject matter: you.
Best Practices for Crafting Your Hinge Prompts
Having an air of mystery may seem hot in movies, but it's just a waste of time in real life—especially when it comes to dating apps, where determining what's real and what's not is so much more difficult than it is in person. "Being coy may seem like a safer way to interact on apps, but it doesn't yield fruitful results," Engle says. (No one's swiping right on a bio that says "I suck at writing bios.")
So nix those coy answers and get specific when you fill out your Hinge prompts. The more specific you get, the likelier you are to match with people that are similar to you. That means you'll really have to think about yourself and want you want.
Be specific when discussing what you're looking for, too. Vagueness won't help narrow your options. For example, don't just say you're looking for "someone with a lot of personality" (is anyone not looking for someone with a personality?); say you're looking for "someone with a lot of energy, and who enjoys being active and trying new things" (or whatever that personality looks like to you). Be honest, both with yourself and in your profile. Don't say you're "super into the gym" because you want someone with a six-pack, when in reality you haven't been to gym in six months and have no intention of starting again.
Add a variety of prompts to paint a full picture of yourself. If all of your prompts are jokes, that doesn't reveal a ton about you. But, if all your prompts are serious, you might come off as a little intense—and you won't be revealing much about your day-to-day life.
The 20 Best Hinge Prompts to Help You Get You a Response
Here are 20 Hinge prompts to get you off the apps and into real relationships.
I'll pick the topic if you start the conversation...
Starting a conversation isn't easy, and with this prompt, you're meeting them halfway. It creates less of a barrier to entry for the person doing the messaging. Pick a topic you're interested in or care about, and "be as specific as possible," Engle says.
What you can say:
The best bands to come out of the 90's.
The worst holiday traditions.
The best and worst concerts you've seen.
The last time I cried happy tears was...
"Consider the things that really make you YOU," Engle says. Mentioning things you care about "will allow you to engage with like-minded people who share similar likes and interests."
What you can say:
When they showed Jason Kelce ripping his shirt off at Travis's touchdown against the Bills.
At the closing scene of All of Us Strangers.
When I PR'ed my back squat (the boys didn't see).
The one thing I'd love to know about you is...
It's always nice to see someone on a dating app be interested in you, even if they haven't seen you yet. Put that energy out there with this prompt. People might feel more comfortable responding when it's something about them, since they know themselves the best. Find a topic that's important to you, and let your potential match take it from there.
What you can say:
What would you do for a living if money weren't a factor?
What's your go-to coffee shop order?
Were you a Nickelodeon or Disney kid?
Let's make sure we're on the same page about...
The great thing about this prompt is you can make your answer as lighthearted or as serious as you want. If you have something that's a deal-breaker for you (like wanting an open relationship), you can insert that here. It also works if you have something a little less serious that still plays a role in your life (like putting pineapple on pizza) and you want to get that out there.
What you can say:
Not wanting kids.
The ending of Game of Thrones.
The shape of Earth.
This year, I really want to...
This prompt is an excellent way to open up potential first date options, or show how you want to work on yourself in this upcoming year. Want to get more creative, more fit, or try something new? Maybe someone out there wants to do the same—and wants a partner to do it with.
What you can say:
Try a ceramics class.
Drink less.
Find the best burger in town.
I'm looking for...
If you already know what you're looking for, you may as well lay it all out there. That being said, don't nit-pick or be judgmental in your answer. Don't be too vague either, or you won't narrow down your options for people best suited to you.
What you can say:
Someone who will get along with my family.
Someone comfortable with being in an open relationship.
A good time, not a long time.
My simple pleasures...
You're probably looking for someone with similar interests as you (at least, we hope you are). "Prompts serve as conversation starters, so consider your interests, hobbies, and skills and lead with those," Engle says. Odds are someone shares them with you.
What you can say:
The smell of fresh cut grass.
When Debbie from marketing brings in banana bread.
Open sunroofs.
I go crazy for...
Another easy way into talking about the things you like—but make sure it's something you can carry conversation on. "Focus on answers that you can go into detail on," Engle says. "Talk about interests, hobbies, and goals outside of romantic relationships to give potential partners a full picture of the person you are."
What you can say:
Planning my next trip before the one I'm on has even ended.
Barry Keoghan. Obviously.
Reruns of Pimp My Ride.

You should leave a comment if...

This is another way to discuss what's important to you, with a call to action for the other person. You can pull in your hobbies, hopes for the future, or interests—the world is your oyster here. But remember: specifics, specifics, specifics (don't just put down "you like sports").

What you can say:

A shower thought I recently had...

Balance your prompts by throwing in a lighter option here and there. A shower thought is a great way to show off your humor and how your mind works. Get creative.

What you can say:

Green flags I look for...

Get a little deeper into what you're looking for in your person by hinting at characteristics you want to see in someone. It's better to be open and honest about what you're looking for in a potential partner then have to do the dirty work of talking to a bunch of people only to find out you don't actually see a future with them.

What you can say:

We're the same type of weird if...

Have some nuance interests that you want to get out there? Here's your chance.

What you can say:

I hype myself up by...
Everyone gets nervous when it comes to online dating. Confidence is hot, but most of us aren't 100-percent confident all of the time, and that's okay. This shows you're nervous, too, but can hype yourself up when need be.

What you can say:

I feel most supported when...

Dating app prompts aren't all about making the right joke or being overly funny. You'll want to layer in some real prompts, too, to show potential partners you can get deep. This prompt is a great way to do that without getting too vulnerable before you're ready. Plus, it reveals a little bit about what you want out of a relationship.

What you can say:

A fun fact about me is...

An oldie but a goodie. To mix in a lighthearted prompt with some deeper ones, stick with what you know and toss in your go-to fun fact from freshman seminar in college. Don't over think the "fun" part—just pick something you think is unique about yourself!

What you can say:

Teach me something about...

Want to learn something new and find a partner at the same time? This is also a great way to show an interest in potential partners by making your answer something related to them. Like we said, people are always more comfortable talking about themselves because it's the one thing they know everything about. People love talking about their passions... maybe someone out there has the same one as you. This is a great way to find out.

What you can say:

I know the best spot in town for...

Hate the phase of online dating where you message back and forth forever and never actually get to a first date? Us, too. This prompt can help speed up that process by getting you out of the app, and meeting in person. Suggest something you'd want to do for a first date.

What you can say:

First round is on me if...

Another prompt that gets you out of the app and right into the first date. Plus, you can pose a characteristic you really want to see in a partner: a win-win. PSA though: If it translates, you do actually have to pay for the first round.

What you can say:

My typical Sunday...

This gives a little snippet into your every day life. You're probably looking for someone who lives a similar lifestyle to you (if you're a "sleep until the afternoon every weekend" kind of guy, you're probably not looking for a "6 a.m. half marathon on a Saturday" kind of girl), and this is a great way to give them that insight.

What you can say:

Give me travel tips for...

Have a trip coming up? Hit two birds with one stone: get some travel recommendations and start up a conversation with a potential special someone. It's an easy entry to talking, and you can quickly branch to "well, where else have you traveled to recently?" Even if you just put down your neighborhood—there's nothing like a little stay-cation.You should leave a comment if...

2024.06.02 06:22 Difficult-Tonight910 Possible thing lurking around

A couple months ago we noticed a weird presence and atmosphere at my friend's house almost in the middle of nowhere. He has a couple neighbors next door but other than that the next neighbor is a ways down the road. We thought we noticed something from the kitchen window and the motion lights came on. So, we got the shotgun and went looking through at least an acre and a half of woods. We kept seeing the shine of our lights on eyes but couldn't ever pin point it. Since then similar feelings of not being the only ones there and being watched have only escalated even in the middle of the day. Then finally, today, we were riding our minibikes down his seasonal road, and he locks his brakes up well in front of me. When I catch up to him he asks if I saw that. We figured it was a deer, at least I did. Then his cameras which haven't worked in months suddenly alerted him that something was going on by/in the garage. We go to check it out, nobody and nothing in or around the garage. He then tells me what he stopped suddenly for on his minibike was what looked like a humanoid running on all fours. Any ideas? He also says his house is very haunted which I do not doubt as I've always felt a little bit of a presence here

More teeth, more claws, more bugs
I return again Hive Mind to show you more horrific abominations I've created, behold the hook headed-gant! A new variant to the gant base, no eyes needed as it goes rampaging through the battlefield grasping, clawing and biting anything within range and ripping it to shreds before moving on to the next creature it senses.
As you can see I'm experimenting with a new paint style, testing this out to see if I like it more over the previous. This one replacing the bone white, yellows and pink on the arms, body and flesh with a teal, red and pink. I'll continue to experiment with colors till I find what I feel best fits my terrible little terrors, but for now I'm pretty happy with the out come.
If you have any ideas for different schemes or styles for the paint or even for a monstrosity to create, feel free to let me know!

2024.06.02 06:12 Powerful_Clerk3170 Help me with the layout

Help me with the layout
Got a 43 inch Frame and having trouble deciding on position. The wife is not a big fan of a TV on top of a fireplace since it's too high, but putting the frame any lower and it would look strange in art mode. So as a compromise, I am thinking of keeping it lower on top of the fire place but placing photo frames or paintings beside it to sort of wake it look like a painting among paintings, if that makes sense.
As it happens, the fire place is not centered on the wall, and the left bookshelves are wider than those on the right. If I pout the TV at the center of the wall (as opposed to the center of the fireplace section. This would would mean I would not put it at the center aligned with the fireplace but a bit more towards the left. Then I would have space in the right side for some artwork. I know this is hard to understand so I am attaching a diagram.
The top part would be the typical installation. Probably have to install higher so it won't look awkward. The bottom one I would lover it a bit (but still not eye level) and add some artwork beside it to, for lack of a better word, justify the positioning. Not drawn to proportion but hopefully gets the idea across. What do you guys think? Is it an OCD nightmare?
