I saw Lauren speak at a promo event today for her latest book. I thought you guys would be interested in some of the GG tidbits she shared. I’m sure some of this may have been mentioned before by others who’ve heard her speak.
-One episode would take about 8 12-14 hour work days. -Sometimes Kelly would walk up to her and ask if she wanted to share a bag of Cheetos. She said she would say to Kelly, “ooh you’re bad.” -From the GG AYITL set, she took a refrigerator magnet with a picture of Alexis, it said you’re the apple of my eye. 2024.05.19 05:17 Infamous-Line2234 1st watching, & the subtitles have got me ROFL!

OMFG! So I'm just now watching the show for the first time, and Crunchyroll's absolutely horrible subtitles have got me cracking up!
I don't know if they had the subtitles/captions when you all watched it, but the constant changing of names was confusing at first, then annoying, but by now it's just hilarious.
There were times, like when the MC meetd with the beastkin and it was evidently in a made up language, because the only subtitles were in Japanese, so I had to sit there with my phone in one hand with Lens open to translate and the remote in the other to stop it every couple seconds to translate what they were talking about.
THAT was definitely annoying, especially since putting up translations for kanji is an easy thing to do (a basic editor is all that's needed, it's not like they need actors for that) and it makes a huge difference. But I've given up on CR trying to improve the viewing experience on that count. So it's whatever...
But it's the names really that have me crackin up!
The first few episodes had me confused, like if they were making fun of Rio by calling him "surreal" (in the CC) instead of Sir Rio; but the more mistakes that came about the more I realized it was just horrible subtitles. I don't know if it's just a shitty program they used to auto generate closed captions or if those watching it before the dub actually had to suffer through what I was reading. I really hope they didn't have to...
So I'm watching episode 8 right now and it's STILL catching me off guard at times! LMAO!
Wether they are talking about a bowl of food that SOUNDS like "Comutan" (which I think is actually Japanese for computer) and looks like traditional Ramen. But the subs first call it "commotion" the it's "Camerton" (and it's capitalized like the name of the town in England). Then he asks the girl he's with to get a bowl of "futon" with him (which sounds POSSIBLY sexual?), and then it's called "mutton" in the very next sentence! I mean, it jumps all over the place for same WORD!! I MIGHT understand if the actors were speaking fast or drunkenly slurring, but it's said in the exact same way, mostly by the MC, every time! Lol
A few moments later (this is still all just ep 8) Rio asks "miss Sayo, are you all right!?" When he interrupted the kidnapping of Komomo, but the subtitles say "MESSIAH. Are u all right?" instead of Miss Sayo. Then when taking about the girl who's about kidnapped it calls her "Lady Como" instead of Komomo. I few seconds later instead of saying "Komomo was almost kidnapped." It says "Come on. Mom was almost kidnapped." Oh God! This is too much! Lmao
It's a great show, but would CR PLEASE get someone on the subtitles!!
I know that other shows will go from episode to episode changing if there even is CC or the translations on screen or for signs in kanji, but they took it to a whole new level with this show!
I really love having the original subtitles in while watching dubs just to see some balance of what the characters really mean since both subtitles and dubs have their own restrictions, and barring that, closed captions that match the dubs just because it's sometimes hard to understand the actors if they are talking fast. But with this show... Wow. Just wow.
You guys have to tell me if it was this bad when it was subtitles only, or if this is just a travesty of an attempt at closed captions!
Sorry about the long post, but I know it's not a new show and I wanted to give some examples. I could go on, but I won't. Lol

This is a bit late (even though I'm not on an official schedule). Thanks for your patience. Spoilers ahead, so proceed at your own risk
We open with Honey Pie Pony seeing her human friends playing on one of Orange Blossom's tree. They invite her to join, but, given that she's a horse, she can't climb the tree. The humans try to help her, but that also doesn't work, so Honey leaves. We're also introduced to this bee named Honey Doodle, which I'm not sure if we see him in another episode. Later, Honey sees the humans riding bikes. The humans show her how to ride, but she isn't able to slow down or stop, so she crashes. Strawberry and crew realize that they've been playing human-oriented games, so they offer to do what Honey wants to do. She suggests that they jump over fences. The humans quickly realized that they couldn't jump over that fence the way Honey just did. I wish that the humans had at least tried to do it, since Honey had attempted their activities. Honey is convinced that she doesn't belong in Strawberryland and the humans can't convince her otherwise. The humans convene at Strawberry's house and make a plan to find another horse for Honey to hang out with. They tell Honey that they're going to find some friends for her, and that's where Strawberry says the recurring line about what friendship is all about. Also, there's the random moment where Huck puts his hat on Honey, and then Strawberry immediately puts it back on him (the Struckleberry shippers are quaking rn). According to Ginger, the humans traversed all over Strawberryland looking for horses (which begs the questions of how big Strawberryland really is and how long these kids were searching), but they couldn't find any other horses. That leads into Honey's musical number about Ice Cream Island, where a bunch of horses live. The humans follow Honey to Ice Cream Island. The bridge they need to take is very old and unsafe. The humans are able to get across one at a time, but Honey nearly falls through. The humans band together to help her up. We finally get to ICI, where there are plenty of horses, although none of them are capable of human speech. I would have liked to see some inner turmoil related to Honey not fully fitting into either group, but oh well. The humans realize they have to get home and take care of their pets. Honey doesn't want to leave ICI, which makes the humans really sad. On the raft ride, they reminisce on how great Honey was. When they get back to the bridge, instead of going one at a time, they all get to the center of the bride at once, and then a fallen tree passes through and breaks the bridge. The humans are all standing on a broken piece, which falls into the water and sends them into the current. They approach a waterfall, and the only thing that stopped them was a patch of rocks. Meanwhile, Honey reminisces on her human friends, and realizes she can't just leave them behind (it's a pretty quick realization which isn't totally realistic, but this is a common thing in this show). She finds her friends still stuck and about to fall in. Honey sees some rocks (which I don't remember seeing in previous shots), and she gets the idea to jump to them. I gotta mention that Huck's sass is pretty funny here. Anyway, despite all odds, Honey's plan works (although we never see Huck getting on her back to jump off. Also, the way this river flows is extremely confusing, since when the tree hit the bridge, it sent the humans in the opposite direction, but then in this scene, that tree heads towards them). Then, we get the second musical number, where they celebrate being "back together," even though everyone walks home and says goodbye. The last shot is Strawberry riding on Honey's back, and it hammers the message of the episode, which is that friends can be different in many ways and still love each other. Aside from the critiques I gave, this is a pretty solid episode. The message is wholesome and leaves me satisfied.

2024.05.19 05:03 IssueOverall7738 Midjourney is demanding me to shutdown my 4 months old SaaS website, what should I do?

Back in January, I read a post from someone who claimed their Midjourney accounts were banned without any explanation. Several others mentioned they struggled with Midjourney’s Discord interface. This gave me the idea to build a product that offers API access and an image-generating playground.
I spent nearly a month building my website and getting it up and running. It took another month to attract my first paying customer. I was thrilled when I saw my first subscriber sign up—it was the first time I was making money through a SaaS application. Previously, I spent three years working on a product with friends, which ultimately failed. So, you can imagine my excitement.
In March and April, I continued to polish my site. However, due to Midjourney’s strict stance against using automated scripts, I lost around ten accounts, some of which were new subscriptions. It was disheartening to wake up one morning and see all my accounts banned by MJ. Despite this, I found a way to keep my site running and gradually grew my subscriber base to about 30. My AWS expenses is also quite high (around $500 USD per month due to the Elasticsearch service I used for queue system). But I thought If I continue to improve my site and grow, eventually I could break-even as I am resolve a pain issue for customers, I will succeed.
Unlike MJ, I treat my subscribers like royalty, helping them with any questions and offering refunds without question, even though my T&C has no refund policy.
Just when I thought I was on the right track, I received an email from Cooley, representing Midjourney Inc. They claimed my website violated Midjourney’s Terms of Use and infringed on their trademark. They demanded I cease and desist from using Midjourney’s services, discontinue my domain name, and provide transfer authorization keys to transfer my domains to Midjourney. They gave me five days to comply and warned that continuing to operate my website would result in legal action under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
As an indie developer, I’m unsure how to handle this situation. Despite seeing many similar sites still operating (if you Google "Midjourney API"), I am a very small player compared to them. Should I follow their demands, shut down my site, and transfer my domain to them? At the same time, I’ve noticed a similar website developer making $30k MRR with an almost identical business model, and he is still running.
I know I'll face a lot of criticism from the comments, but I really, really don't want to give up at this stage.

Posting for my daughter who recently graduated from university and she wants to build her first pc. Up until now she's been using mobile tablet/laptop device with 3060 GPU. She's not a big gamer but does enjoy Minecraft and mods and wants to move to a desktop. Her specific mods work best with Nvidia GPU so that is a core requirement.
Beyond gaming on this build she will be doing some coding/compiling, maybe some 3D modeling/rendering stuff, etc. Her preferences are quiet (doesn't need to be "Silent" but aiming for not noisy, and prefer not to hear fans ramping up/down all the time). I'd prefer it not to be a power hog, efficiency is a preference of mine nothing extreme but leaning on quiet vs noisy and willing to spend a little extra to that end. Water cooling is something I do NOT want to mess with at this time. We will probably pair the build with 2x 27" QHD 144Hz monitors but they do not need to be spec'd out here.
Budget is ~$16xx all core elements (CPU, MB, RAM, Storage, GPU, Case, PSU, etc). We don't need to budget the peripherals, OS License, nor monitors. I prefer no-rebates in the budget. Budget is flexible within reason. We live in USA but nowhere near a Microcenter (maybe one coming later this year but not an option otherwise).
I am agnostic on AMD vs Intel, I personally run AMD but she's been using Intel for a few years so my first pass I've gone that route. 14700 Build
---Why I made some choices---
CPU: Picked Intel 14700 since it's 65W TDP and 20cores for $399. I figure it'll be fine for all above and should run a little more efficiently than the 14700K but perhaps that's simply a bios option in the K series to make it run at 65W TDP instead of 125W (I need to research)?
Motherboard: Picked MSI because I've had good luck lately with them. I'm open to other options but definitely want latest chipset for DDR5 and 4 memory slots for expansion later if desired. Don't need tons of fancy stuff, don't need many PCIe slots. Having more than one NVME is desired. Wifi is preferred but we'll run 1Gb ethernet to her room for this project.
GPU: Went with 4070 for extra RAM and approx price point. Otherwise could be swayed to go +/- depending on folks input here. Again, AMD series GPU's are not an option for this build.
Case: I picked one with RGB / Glass Panel and an optional Optical Disc drive spot. She wants to fool around with some old games we have on CDROM and while I can connect a USB Drive I figure having the option for an internal one will make her happy. I like a case that's easy to work in/on, doesn't feel flimsy, and cools efficiently. Otherwise I'm flexible here.
Storage: Definitely an NVME Drive, 2TB preferred. I prefer one with DRAM/onboard cache. Prefer reputable brand and reliability, but recognize that changes so open to options here. Might add a second NVME down the road. I've had good luck with samsung and AData but recognize both have had some models with issues in the past.
PSU: Prefer 80+ Gold and Quality here. Name brands/reliability preferred over saving a few bucks. Don't imagine we'll be upgrading to an 80 or 90 series GPU so don't think we'll need more power now. I like the modular ones.

If you do not want to read the wall of Text:
Riot purposely matches players to hit 50% WR. It's a bad design for skill based ranks.
If you are above, 2-3 of your teammates will be "bad", vice versa for below. Brand New Players get special exemptions, older players with smurf accounts are tracked. Riot does this on purpose, not specifically targeting people, but targeting by a formula. The higher your WR the more "bad" players you will see. There are people who are bad, just refusing to accept reality, however 90% of LoL is not Bad. They are being placed against people ABOVE their skill level on purpose to Lose. Not to "test" them. Not to figure out where they should be placed. Normal games affect Ranked games.
Hidden MMR is the culprit, and needs to be abolished. Everyone should start at Iron 4 and move up. People who refuse to accept reality are why Riot is in such a declining state. More cheaters, More account sellers, More negative players. This is because of the community. If you pathetic fanbois would stop with the copium, you could actually see LoL become so much more. Riot would end up with more money and players.
Your Rank Means Nothing. I can buy it. I can climb it myself. I can let others carry me to it.
I have played LoL Since it first came out. I am one of the OGs and I have once even believed in this Copium. I always assumed when people were complaining they knew NOTHING. However I have decided to play low elo NA. I have learned from my personal games and from going thru 5000 NA Players from Iron 4 to platinum 1, that Riot actually fixes games. I have seen Smurf accounts lose in streaks. I have seen Brand New Players win 50 games in a row. Now I know things are statistic, and people say "Well maybe they had a bad game" 1 bad game is not 15 losses in a row on a Master Smurf in Iron. The Hidden MMR is actually the problem here. Based on OP.GG data, there are Hundred of Thousands of games in Iron to Plat Daily. So with such a massive player base, it should be really easy to match Skill to Skill. However Autofill doesn't actually make que times faster. With so many players playing daily, that's impossible. Accounts that ONLY Fill almost always play Bot or Jungle. Even tho Riot themselves say Jungle and Support is the MOST needed roles.
Riot does not pick players out and target them like people think or feel. They don't need to. They take your Stats across all games and place you with Specific people. Here is how it actually works, Lets say you made a new account and you did well on your grind to 30, end up with above average stats. Riot places you WITH below average players against 3 players at your skill level if you need to lose to hit your 50% WR. If you need to win you get placed with 2 players at or above your Stats, against a team of "bad" players. This is to give off the "RNG" factor. Its not RNG at all if you take out who is queing at that time. This is why some matches INSTANT pop while others can take a min or 2. The longer you wait, the harder it is for the system to match you "correctly".
I personally created 30 accounts to test my theory. 10 on one comp. 20 on different computers (I build computers, I have a ton) and internet providers (like McDonalds wifi etc) The 10 on my personal computer got put into "Smurf" elo every time regardless of Stats. So I take that means they track your Email/IP/Etc. None of which are above gold, except my main. (Mods here are losers, so I will not disclose account names. They want to Hide information for some reason, like the scripting plague we have going on, and the 40% cheating rise we have now hit.)
However where things got really interesting. The 20 accounts to make me look like a new person, 5 are in Masters. only 1 is in Iron. I fed my ass off on that one and it got banned right after hitting iron 4. Not sure how it figured out I was inting, considering I never let myself have the lowest KDA, I just always pushed for bad plays and team wiped. So maybe you do get banned for being bad? idk.
What I noticed across all my accounts were the teammates. My won games the top 2 teammates had consistent wins. My lose games the enemy team had consistent wins. Specifically 2-3 enemy players. Then after looking thru a lot of "bad players" accounts I noticed the EXACT same thing.
I also noticed Hidden MMR Never Ever lines up with Visual MMR.
I then looked across high WR accounts and found out most of the ones I reviewed are actually never cause THEY won the game themself. Their teammates actually lined up and had "Good" games and did better than their last 10 matches. Which makes this funny, is the people claiming others need to "Git Gud" are actually just lucky. Remember I said 3 players. There are 5 per team. roughly 10% chance of one of them having a "good" game and NOT feeding while the enemy team had the feeder.
People who are hardstuck aren't actually stuck because of skill. Its faulty design placing people against people above their skill level to keep them down. This is why Stomps and Snowballs happen. Only .05% of LoL players are ACTUALLY good. The ones who go to esports and don't get caught cheating.
The rest of the players are actually pretty even in terms of Skill. There are Iron players who can 1v1 Masters and completely dominate. They can legit 1v9 but get aggravated because their teammates are not the same level as them, so they end up making a bad play Team Fight wise.
I would add in how broken Champions are, which actually add a lot to why certain people lose. They may enjoy their Rammus, but can't carry as rammus because their 4 teammates are braindead that match. So they que up again, play rammus, and get a smart teammate, which then hits that dopamine rush. This is where MOST LoL players fall. If this game actually based Rank on Skill, most players would be in Platinum - Emerald. Trolls, AFKers, Inters, etc would be in gold and below.

The footage, depicting Diddy dragging, kicking, and grabbing Cassie in a hotel hallway, paints a disturbing picture of abuse and violence. Even Cassie’s husband and Combs long-time ex business partner, Alex Fine issued a statement after the release of the video.
There are three key lessons that brand leaders can learn from the release of this footage:

O God, who on this day taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit: Grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
The Gospel
John 7:37–39a
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
Commentary on Today’s Gospel Selection;
In our Gospel selection for today, Pentecost Sunday, we look at an event which takes place on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, also known as Feast of Booths, and Sukkot. The event takes place in SeptembeOctober, and celebrates the fall harvest of grapes and olives. It lasts seven days with a holy convocation on the eighth day (Leviticus 23:36).
Jewish law specifies that, during the Feast of Tabernacles, Jewish people “You shall dwell in booths seven days. All who are native-born in Israel shall dwell in booths, that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt” (Leviticus 23:42-43). It also characterizes this feast as a fall harvest festival (Exodus 23:16; Deuteronomy 16:13).
It was during this feast or celebrations that:
Jesus stood and cried, saying,If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” (vs. 37-38) To understand the context of the situation in which Jesus stands and makes this pronouncement, you have to understand the daily rituals which took place during the festival.
During the first six days of the week long event, a priest would go to the Pool of Siloam and draw a pitcher full of water, then march in procession back to the temple with the people repeating from a verse found in Isaiah 12:3, “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
Then upon returning to the temple the priest would pour out the water in an offering to God, commemorating the water that poured from the rock that sustained the ancient Israelites (Exodus 17:1-7; Numbers 20:1-13) as well as the rains that sustained Israel during the year just passed.
Everyday for six days, the people had been celebrating the water that had given their people physical sustenance; Jesus now tells them that he is capable of satisfying their spiritual thirst.
as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”(v. 38b) Just as we today think of the heart as being the center of emotions, (e.g. from the heart) in those times, they believed that the belly was the place where warm kindly benevolent feelings were generated. Jesus is saying that those who believe in him will receive these spiritual waters, waters of spiritual blessings, salvation.
When lost in the desert, the children of Israel thought the waters from God that materialized as flowing from a rock, were a blessing, a salvation in the physical sense for those who faced death from thirst (dehydration.) At the core of Jesus message to them that day, lies the fact that instead of worshiping an event that took place hundreds of years beforehand, a miracle that only provided physical sustenance for a brief time, they should be paying attention to his message which offers an eternal spiritual sustenance.
This verse brings to mind Jesus’ words to the Samaritan woman, “the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life” (John 4:13-14).
Jeremiah 2:13 also contains a reference to spiritual water: “For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.” Likewise we see in Jeremiah 17:13 “O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.” Perhaps Jesus recognized this disparity which could be seen in the religious rite in which the people celebrated his Father’s gift of water for physical thirst while remaining obvious to “the fountain of living waters” that God offered them.
In writing this Gospel, John the Evangelist, adds a note to the reader in verse 39; “But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.
Here we find an explanation as to why these verses were selected for Pentecost Sunday, the day that the Holy spirit descended upon the Followers of Christ. Water and the Spirit are connected elsewhere in John — for example, when Jesus tells Nicodemus that “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (3:5). In Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman, living water is the symbol of the revelation of God in Christ which satisfies all spiritual thirst (4:10-15). “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14)
This living water that springs up into everlasting life, as promised by Jesus, is water that satisfies one’s spiritual thirst. A water that traditionally has been found through attendance and membership in the church, where one learns about the message and teachings of Christ, the essence of the water itself.
Unfortunately over the last decade, we have watched a great exodus from the church; in particular the old main-line churches. Those churches hemorrhaging membership most excessively, are those who in recent years have spent less time on—if not totally abandoning—the Gospel of Christ, while embracing a social gospel that may be based on good intentions, but none the less fails to address the people’s spiritual thirst.
Indeed, when questioned by pollsters attempting to gather information regarding this great exodus, a large number of people say that they identify as “spiritual but not religious.” Assuming that these people are indeed spiritual, then we can also assume that they are not finding in these churches, the water and spirit, with which to satisfy their thirst.
Ironically, we find the Hebrew people in chapter 7 attending a great celebration, one in which the observances commemorate important events in their history as a people chosen by God. Annual celebrations that for them, were certainly fun and wondrous to participate in, but yet—as Jesus noted by his crying out—they were failing to receive the spiritual water of God and instead they were focusing on recreating an event of centuries past. I say this is ironic, in that today we find the churches focusing, not on recreating events of the past as a commemoration of the importance of the event, but rather on progressive social ideologies that often conflict with the word of God itself. A so called social gospel that often drowns out the message of the Gospel of Christ.
Instead of uniting together as brothers and sisters in Christ seeking the water and spirit that Jesus spoke of, our churches are inculcating, not a gospel of the spirit that unites us in the name of Christ, but rather an ideology that divides us along social constructs and identities.
People who readily identify—when asked—as spiritual, seem to have an innate thirst for authentic spirituality, and apparently are not finding a cure for that thirst in these churches that are no longer churches of Christ, but which are now, for all pratical purposes, churches of progressive ideology.
But yet, if you really seek through the news media diligently, you will see signs that the Holy Spirit is descending again, in some ways, just as it did during that event we commemorate today.
The principalities of this world work to suppress the news of the spirit moving, but yet reports are emerging of young people filling the pews at revivals, mass baptisms, even the conversion of formerly reprobate celebrities who have now found Christ and are trying to turn around their life, to be as born again. We also are witnessing an increasing number of celebrities who are speaking out, unapologetically affirming their Christian beliefs and advocating for traditional family values and lifestyles. The Holy Spirit has touched the hearts of these individuals, compelling them to ignore their fears of persecution or their aversion to being called out as not being politically or socially correct.
As we observe the day that the Holy Spirit descended upon those in that room, let us be cognizant of the fact that there are many people in this world today, who are hungry for authentic Christianity. Those who thirst for authentic water and spirit that satiates the spiritual thirst. Those who can be characterized as being the least of these.
The “least of these” is a phrase that originates from Matthew 25:31–46, a passage often used in these modern times, to guilt Christians, causing them to embrace this false social gospel that is emptying the churches. Christians are not leaving because they do not want to help others, but due to the fact that they instinctively know that this passage, and others, are used out of context in an effort to guilt them into accepting what they know in their heart is wrong.
Matthew wrote this at a time, in which most likely the least of these, the needy, those imprisoned and persecuted, those that Christ called his bothers, most likely were his brothers and sisters, as it was a time in which Christians were discriminated against and tortured for their beliefs. Matthew was preaching to a congregation that knew all too well what the conditions Jesus spoke of were like.
While we are always to help the financially impoverished, a careful reading of Matthew 25:31–46 and its historical context demonstrates the need to give aid to the spiritually impoverished as well. When we look at how this passage was taught prior to the emergence of the social gospel a century past. We find a rebuke of the minsters who teach such false doctrines in these words of Jesus: “For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me
There are yet those who are spiritually hungry, spiritually thirsty, naked in spirit, they are treated as strangers by the modern church because they hold traditional values dear. There are those who speak out against all sorts of abominations and now find themselves in prison, sick and isolated. But yet the churches of social gospel turn a blind eye to them.
The rest of us must keep the spiritually hungry and thirsty in our prayers, reach out to them and help them find the spirit that is once again moving today as it moved two millennia ago.

O God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the only Savior, the Prince of Peace: Give us grace seriously to lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions; take away all hatred and prejudice, and whatever else may hinder us from godly union and concord; that, as there is but one Body and one Spirit, one hope of our calling, one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of us all, so we may be all of one heart and of one soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity, and may with one mind and one mouth glorify you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Commentary on Today’s Gospel Selection;
In our Gospel selection for today, Pentecost Sunday, we look at an event which takes place on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, also known as Feast of Booths, and Sukkot. The event takes place in SeptembeOctober, and celebrates the fall harvest of grapes and olives. It lasts seven days with a holy convocation on the eighth day (Leviticus 23:36).
Jewish law specifies that, during the Feast of Tabernacles, Jewish people “You shall dwell in booths seven days. All who are native-born in Israel shall dwell in booths, that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt” (Leviticus 23:42-43). It also characterizes this feast as a fall harvest festival (Exodus 23:16; Deuteronomy 16:13).
It was during this feast or celebrations that:
Jesus stood and cried, saying,If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” (vs. 37-38) To understand the context of the situation in which Jesus stands and makes this pronouncement, you have to understand the daily rituals which took place during the festival.
During the first six days of the week long event, a priest would go to the Pool of Siloam and draw a pitcher full of water, then march in procession back to the temple with the people repeating from a verse found in Isaiah 12:3, “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
Then upon returning to the temple the priest would pour out the water in an offering to God, commemorating the water that poured from the rock that sustained the ancient Israelites (Exodus 17:1-7; Numbers 20:1-13) as well as the rains that sustained Israel during the year just passed.
Everyday for six days, the people had been celebrating the water that had given their people physical sustenance; Jesus now tells them that he is capable of satisfying their spiritual thirst.
as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”(v. 38b) Just as we today think of the heart as being the center of emotions, (e.g. from the heart) in those times, they believed that the belly was the place where warm kindly benevolent feelings were generated. Jesus is saying that those who believe in him will receive these spiritual waters, waters of spiritual blessings, salvation.
When lost in the desert, the children of Israel thought the waters from God that materialized as flowing from a rock, were a blessing, a salvation in the physical sense for those who faced death from thirst (dehydration.) At the core of Jesus message to them that day, lies the fact that instead of worshiping an event that took place hundreds of years beforehand, a miracle that only provided physical sustenance for a brief time, they should be paying attention to his message which offers an eternal spiritual sustenance.
This verse brings to mind Jesus’ words to the Samaritan woman, “the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life” (John 4:13-14).
Jeremiah 2:13 also contains a reference to spiritual water: “For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.” Likewise we see in Jeremiah 17:13 “O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.” Perhaps Jesus recognized this disparity which could be seen in the religious rite in which the people celebrated his Father’s gift of water for physical thirst while remaining obvious to “the fountain of living waters” that God offered them.
In writing this Gospel, John the Evangelist, adds a note to the reader in verse 39; “But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.
Here we find an explanation as to why these verses were selected for Pentecost Sunday, the day that the Holy spirit descended upon the Followers of Christ. Water and the Spirit are connected elsewhere in John — for example, when Jesus tells Nicodemus that “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (3:5). In Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman, living water is the symbol of the revelation of God in Christ which satisfies all spiritual thirst (4:10-15). “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14)
This living water that springs up into everlasting life, as promised by Jesus, is water that satisfies one’s spiritual thirst. A water that traditionally has been found through attendance and membership in the church, where one learns about the message and teachings of Christ, the essence of the water itself.
Unfortunately over the last decade, we have watched a great exodus from the church; in particular the old main-line churches. Those churches hemorrhaging membership most excessively, are those who in recent years have spent less time on—if not totally abandoning—the Gospel of Christ, while embracing a social gospel that may be based on good intentions, but none the less fails to address the people’s spiritual thirst.
Indeed, when questioned by pollsters attempting to gather information regarding this great exodus, a large number of people say that they identify as “spiritual but not religious.” Assuming that these people are indeed spiritual, then we can also assume that they are not finding in these churches, the water and spirit, with which to satisfy their thirst.
Ironically, we find the Hebrew people in chapter 7 attending a great celebration, one in which the observances commemorate important events in their history as a people chosen by God. Annual celebrations that for them, were certainly fun and wondrous to participate in, but yet—as Jesus noted by his crying out—they were failing to receive the spiritual water of God and instead they were focusing on recreating an event of centuries past. I say this is ironic, in that today we find the churches focusing, not on recreating events of the past as a commemoration of the importance of the event, but rather on progressive social ideologies that often conflict with the word of God itself. A so called social gospel that often drowns out the message of the Gospel of Christ.
Instead of uniting together as brothers and sisters in Christ seeking the water and spirit that Jesus spoke of, our churches are inculcating, not a gospel of the spirit that unites us in the name of Christ, but rather an ideology that divides us along social constructs and identities.
People who readily identify—when asked—as spiritual, seem to have an innate thirst for authentic spirituality, and apparently are not finding a cure for that thirst in these churches that are no longer churches of Christ, but which are now, for all pratical purposes, churches of progressive ideology.
But yet, if you really seek through the news media diligently, you will see signs that the Holy Spirit is descending again, in some ways, just as it did during that event we commemorate today.
The principalities of this world work to suppress the news of the spirit moving, but yet reports are emerging of young people filling the pews at revivals, mass baptisms, even the conversion of formerly reprobate celebrities who have now found Christ and are trying to turn around their life, to be as born again. We also are witnessing an increasing number of celebrities who are speaking out, unapologetically affirming their Christian beliefs and advocating for traditional family values and lifestyles. The Holy Spirit has touched the hearts of these individuals, compelling them to ignore their fears of persecution or their aversion to being called out as not being politically or socially correct.
As we observe the day that the Holy Spirit descended upon those in that room, let us be cognizant of the fact that there are many people in this world today, who are hungry for authentic Christianity. Those who thirst for authentic water and spirit that satiates the spiritual thirst. Those who can be characterized as being the least of these.

Everyday for six days, the people had been celebrating the water that had given their people physical sustenance; Jesus now tells them that he is capable of satisfying their spiritual thirst.
as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”(v. 38b) Just as we today think of the heart as being the center of emotions, (e.g. from the heart) in those times, they believed that the belly was the place where warm kindly benevolent feelings were generated. Jesus is saying that those who believe in him will receive these spiritual waters, waters of spiritual blessings, salvation.
When lost in the desert, the children of Israel thought the waters from God that materialized as flowing from a rock, were a blessing, a salvation in the physical sense for those who faced death from thirst (dehydration.) At the core of Jesus message to them that day, lies the fact that instead of worshiping an event that took place hundreds of years beforehand, a miracle that only provided physical sustenance for a brief time, they should be paying attention to his message which offers an eternal spiritual sustenance.
This verse brings to mind Jesus’ words to the Samaritan woman, “the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life” (John 4:13-14).
Jeremiah 2:13 also contains a reference to spiritual water: “For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.” Likewise we see in Jeremiah 17:13 “O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.” Perhaps Jesus recognized this disparity which could be seen in the religious rite in which the people celebrated his Father’s gift of water for physical thirst while remaining obvious to “the fountain of living waters” that God offered them.
In writing this Gospel, John the Evangelist, adds a note to the reader in verse 39; “But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.
Here we find an explanation as to why these verses were selected for Pentecost Sunday, the day that the Holy spirit descended upon the Followers of Christ. Water and the Spirit are connected elsewhere in John — for example, when Jesus tells Nicodemus that “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (3:5). In Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman, living water is the symbol of the revelation of God in Christ which satisfies all spiritual thirst (4:10-15). “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14)
This living water that springs up into everlasting life, as promised by Jesus, is water that satisfies one’s spiritual thirst. A water that traditionally has been found through attendance and membership in the church, where one learns about the message and teachings of Christ, the essence of the water itself.
Unfortunately over the last decade, we have watched a great exodus from the church; in particular the old main-line churches. Those churches hemorrhaging membership most excessively, are those who in recent years have spent less time on—if not totally abandoning—the Gospel of Christ, while embracing a social gospel that may be based on good intentions, but none the less fails to address the people’s spiritual thirst.
Indeed, when questioned by pollsters attempting to gather information regarding this great exodus, a large number of people say that they identify as “spiritual but not religious.” Assuming that these people are indeed spiritual, then we can also assume that they are not finding in these churches, the water and spirit, with which to satisfy their thirst.
Ironically, we find the Hebrew people in chapter 7 attending a great celebration, one in which the observances commemorate important events in their history as a people chosen by God. Annual celebrations that for them, were certainly fun and wondrous to participate in, but yet—as Jesus noted by his crying out—they were failing to receive the spiritual water of God and instead they were focusing on recreating an event of centuries past. I say this is ironic, in that today we find the churches focusing, not on recreating events of the past as a commemoration of the importance of the event, but rather on progressive social ideologies that often conflict with the word of God itself. A so called social gospel that often drowns out the message of the Gospel of Christ.
Instead of uniting together as brothers and sisters in Christ seeking the water and spirit that Jesus spoke of, our churches are inculcating, not a gospel of the spirit that unites us in the name of Christ, but rather an ideology that divides us along social constructs and identities.
People who readily identify—when asked—as spiritual, seem to have an innate thirst for authentic spirituality, and apparently are not finding a cure for that thirst in these churches that are no longer churches of Christ, but which are now, for all pratical purposes, churches of progressive ideology.
But yet, if you really seek through the news media diligently, you will see signs that the Holy Spirit is descending again, in some ways, just as it did during that event we commemorate today.
The principalities of this world work to suppress the news of the spirit moving, but yet reports are emerging of young people filling the pews at revivals, mass baptisms, even the conversion of formerly reprobate celebrities who have now found Christ and are trying to turn around their life, to be as born again. We also are witnessing an increasing number of celebrities who are speaking out, unapologetically affirming their Christian beliefs and advocating for traditional family values and lifestyles. The Holy Spirit has touched the hearts of these individuals, compelling them to ignore their fears of persecution or their aversion to being called out as not being politically or socially correct.
As we observe the day that the Holy Spirit descended upon those in that room, let us be cognizant of the fact that there are many people in this world today, who are hungry for authentic Christianity. Those who thirst for authentic water and spirit that satiates the spiritual thirst. Those who can be characterized as being the least of these.
The “least of these” is a phrase that originates from Matthew 25:31–46, a passage often used in these modern times, to guilt Christians, causing them to embrace this false social gospel that is emptying the churches. Christians are not leaving because they do not want to help others, but due to the fact that they instinctively know that this passage, and others, are used out of context in an effort to guilt them into accepting what they know in their heart is wrong.
Matthew wrote this at a time, in which most likely the least of these, the needy, those imprisoned and persecuted, those that Christ called his bothers, most likely were his brothers and sisters, as it was a time in which Christians were discriminated against and tortured for their beliefs. Matthew was preaching to a congregation that knew all too well what the conditions Jesus spoke of were like.
While we are always to help the financially impoverished, a careful reading of Matthew 25:31–46 and its historical context demonstrates the need to give aid to the spiritually impoverished as well. When we look at how this passage was taught prior to the emergence of the social gospel a century past. We find a rebuke of the minsters who teach such false doctrines in these words of Jesus: “For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me
There are yet those who are spiritually hungry, spiritually thirsty, naked in spirit, they are treated as strangers by the modern church because they hold traditional values dear. There are those who speak out against all sorts of abominations and now find themselves in prison, sick and isolated. But yet the churches of social gospel turn a blind eye to them.
The rest of us must keep the spiritually hungry and thirsty in our prayers, reach out to them and help them find the spirit that is once again moving today as it moved two millennia ago.

This isn’t a rant or anything but the other day I just needed some better context on my assignment so I came here & when I seen his comment I damn near shit myself cus he was so direct like 😂😂🤣 what if he KNOWS it’s me.. the second hand embarrassment I caught when my professor commented on the post of me asking for help sent me.. but I got through it 😂 did that happen to anyone else?
