First off, lets note that this year has been extremly challenging and traumatic for me. It is some heavy topics that I would rather not talk about.
This go back to when I met the ex friend, we’ll call them A. They were a friend at first, I meet them last year during the end of school. I began defending A because people made fun of them for being transgender. I am very against any hate towards anyone, and will defend people with my life, even if it costs me some. Days went by and I began feeling uncomfortable due to the drama they were purposely putting me through. I also dislike drama unless its again defending someone.
Fast forward to february of this year, I was in a studyhall/win with A. There was a guy at a another table during this, we’ll call him L. A and I were working in the studyhall, note that I was dating someone else at the time. L handed A a note. It was for me, I don’t remember exactly what it wrote but it was something along the lines of ‘you’re cute’ or ‘hey baby’. I told him I was taken back on the note. A handed it back, and L wrote back again. Again, don’t remember the exact words but it went along the lines of ‘He doesn’t have to know’ or ‘You’re still cute’ again Im not sure as this whole situation was traumatic for me. Then I wrote back again I wasn’t intrested, and I thougut that was the end of it.
As the bell rings, A heard him say something extremely inappropriate and I thought I did too. We reported the incident and L got in trouble. Again, thought that would be the end of this.
The next day A gets a note that would be an extremely important part to this whole situation. Apparently L had given A a note that he had written, saying ‘Lets f in the bathroom’ then his number on it. Scared, I ran to the office to report it. I don’t remember exactly how much time passed, but as it did the most shocking thing had happened.
IT WAS A’s HAND WRITING.
A had written a fake note, saying it was L. A had lied to me, betrayed me. Then A, TRIED BLAMING ME. Saying I told them too when they had no proof I did!! Thankfully, that staff there are amazing and know me well, so they know I didnt do it. And that was the end of that. We haven’t spoke since.. until a few days ago.
On may 16th, I was having a shit day. First my brother was being a butt, then all my stuff fell out of my bag, I had nausea and cramps and realized I had forgotten my pads that morning, all under thirty minutes. Then I had almost passed out, nausea got worse and other problems. Then studyhall/win came. I had win with both L and A. That whole time, my mind was saying punch A. I tried to hold myself during it but my intrusive thoughts won, and I stood up. Went up to A,
And punched him in cheek.
I had cried because I had never really did anything like that and was scared of being in trouble.
I dont regret what I did, my parents were surprisingly not angry. Nor was any of the staff. Even the detention teacher was proud of me, saying that she would but me icecream. Apparently, that was the second time he had gotten punched that week. If that doesn’t say much about A I don’t know what will.
Along with that, a different friend told me that apparently they said that they didn’t deserve being punched and that my friend wanted to punch them too, again if that doesn’t say much I don’t know what will.

Liberal Conservatism

I think it’s just we’re drastically increasing our fat content and our bodies are kind of like whoa we don’t normally get this much ?? And it’s just an adjustment period. Should we just stick it out or almost slow down the fat content temporarily to ease it up slowly?
We’ve done strict carnivore straight away and I’m wondering if that wasn’t the way to go- but if we’re almost over the hump now just keep going?

Almost 20 years ago I was an insecure teenager, Hammerfall was my favorite band and Kamelot my second favorite. Back then I lived in a place no power metal band would ever visit. Now I will get to listen both bands live. My 14 year old self would be incredibly proud and think that I made it in life.
As time passed I kind of grew over Hammerfall and the templars of still while the dark bittersweet cheesiness of Kamelot still resonates with me. I know and like most of Kamelot's songs. But I know nothing about Hammerfall's more recent albums.
I don't want to disappoint my 15yrs old self by not singing to every single song Hammerfall plays. Would any of you care to share the names of the songs they are playing in the North American tour? Is it a subset of their own tour setlist?

Hi, so basically I expose almost everything in the title and sorry in advance the story will be really long as I want to give as much context I can, also excuse me, if I make too many mistakes, I'm French and my English isn't that good. Also, I will begin by explaining how the medical studies works here, as it will be important for the context and some events. I will call the girl in question H, and her best friend S
The story begins in August 2022, I graduated from high school and I applied to the first year of med school, in France you have to do a year which known to be really difficult and after that you can really say that you are in medical school. As this year is known to be difficult, they are tutorial system who help students throughout the year, and even before they propose tutoring before the year during the holidays.
I went there and while I was waiting for the class to begin, I befriended S and H. We then proceed to be classmates, and talk to each other, via discord and then WhatsApp. H, S and I had really similar hobbies.
For a little bit more of context, high school was really rough for me, I loved another girl who even after rejecting me and friend zoning me, used my feelings to make me work as if I was her slave, I was in charge to explain lessons, doing homework etc... Also, some of whom I consider my friends betrayed me by also using me for money or work. This situation put me in depression and my academical prowess also declined, it was the only thing that was making me proud, so I tried to kill myself twice because of that. Needless to say, I wasn't in the best mental conditions to begin that stressful year.
The first half of the first semester was extremely harsh for me as for the majority of the time, I was alone with my unprocessed thoughts, and it was just horrific, I had no one to talk to and S and H were only comrades back then, we weren't real friends yet. So in order to do something for that situation, I tried to put more efforts in befriending H and S, for real this time, I went in the same classes with them, and we created a WhatsApp group and a discord server with 3 other friends to coordinate ourselves.
One day, as we were about to start cellular biology's class, I saw that H's computer wallpaper was Kaguya Sama Love is War, and I love that anime, so made the remark, and that day, for some reasons that are unknown to me, I fell in love with her. Maybe it was how she spoke about her hobbies, I really don't know. Since that day, I would try to be seated beside her, trying to talk to her, etc...
The second half of the first semester, I told the other members of our group that I was indeed in love with H, it wasn't a big surprise as they said that they noticed my behavioral changes around H. They told me that it was quite miraculous that H didn't notice yet, since then I tried to play it more discreet because even though, I was madly in love with her, I valued our friendship and I didn't want to destroy that.
Fast-forward to the second semester, where H and I were really good friends, and the me of that period even thought that she also had feelings for me because she was really tactical, she opened up more to me than the others. In my defense, she was typically the shy girl you would characterize in your mind, but with me, she was different. She was also kinda flirted with me and even S, (who knew everything from both side as she also became my confident during that time) called it.
Despite my efforts I failed that year, and this failure was devastating, as it's my dream to become doctor, I really thought to end it all, I thought that the disaster of High school was just a taste of this year, that I will never become doctor and my life was futile. Whenever I do some exercise I go to our discord server and I log in the voc, so I can sing while listening to my voice, and it gave me motivation. Sometimes H or S or both would come to discuss or alongside me, and if they came I just muted myself. But some days after the results, I went and as I tried to revise to maybe try to pass the retakes, I ask God for a sign (I'm really religious), and then H came to work her oral exam because she passed. The simple presence of H, gave me enough motivation and inner peace to cast away these thoughts.
I eventually failed the retakes for 0.02 points, but I was taken in the tutoring system, as I was really great in the humanities subjects and was made the chief of that and H was made the chief of the Chemistry subject. I was also good at chemistry, so I wanted to help her, and she accepted. So during the last two weeks of August 2023, I gave chemistry class with her, and we also pass time together in the local the tutors had. She was also kinda flirty and so was I, two other friends (not related to the group I talked about) saw the thing between us, and they ask if we were together, we were both embarrassed, but eventually we denied. When H went away to give a biology class, I had a discussion with them, and they told me to confess myself, because basically I was torturing myself by giving myself false hopes. So the First of September I confess to her, and she rejected me
From good friends we became strangers and went no contact through the entire month of September, but in October we become again friends, but she was kinda weird, some days we were the friends like before, some day I was a stranger and some day she won't say a word to me, but she will just stare at me, and honestly it kinda fucked me up, I was like, did I do something wrong ? Was I the bad guy ? And the first semester of my current undergrad studies took the blow and my mental health too. I directly asked her what was going in November, she assured me that she just needed time. I just told her that we shall at least stay professional (I just took a big part of her responsibilities of Chemistry chief, because she was too busy, and it would be problematic for the students). The pinnacle of absurdity came in January, we had a late Secret Santa, and because God hated me or something, I was the secret Santa, but she didn't show up the day we gave the gifts and after months of her ignoring me, I decided to block her on discord
Again an ellipse to April, another friend of mine sent a message via WhatsApp without me knowing with my phone to H, because I talked too much about her and I needed to talk to her. After she answered me, I told her that it wasn't me, but I sent a long message (even longer than this story) explaining that it wasn't cool what she did that ignoring me just fucked me up, that I don't want to pursue her or anything, that I refuse to die as sad poet (I love to write poetry, and she is a great muse) so I had to conclude this story even if she didn't answer. She said that she didn't know how to process all of this as it was new for her, and she told me that she just run away from her problems and she again apologized because she ignored me. She also said that we could go back to our friendship, and she agreed to see each other one day.
So here I am writing this gigantic post (really sorry about that) and I still love her, I can't take her out of my mind, but I know it's wrong, yet I feel it deep in my soul that I'm still in love with her. Thanks for reading me.

unsure if this is the right subreddit to go to, very sorry if it isn't but i've been having problems with trying to figure out if i am a system or not. for as long as i can remember i've been forgetful of everything i've done all my life - i've forgotten where i put certain objects even though i set them down somewhere 5 seconds ago, i can't remember anything from yesterday, last week or even special holidays. sometimes i even forget my own name and can't register who i am. i've also been having headaches lately whenever i'm in some sort of distress, then i “wake up” and forget what i was doing. I've never blacked out before, usually everything just goes blurry for a moment. i cannot remember my childhood at ALL, and sometimes i find things in my house in different arrangements. for example, i have a mannequin on my desk that i use for pose studies. whenever i come back to it, it's always in a different position. i live with two other people, and whenever i ask them if they had done something they say they didn't do it.
i've been getting quick thoughts in my head as well - i thought they were intrusive thoughts at first or just brainrot, but the same voices comment on EVERYTHING i do. sometimes i catch myself talking to myself (?) in my head then being interrupted by a loud voice telling me to shut up and focus. sometimes, whenever i daydream, the characters i'm daydreaming of do things that i can't control. this happens very rarely, though i've experienced it happening before. everything is so confusing.
i'm not sure if i already said this but i also get VERY frequent identity confusion to the point i resort to copying others to feel “normal” , , , my name, my gender, my age, it all feels blurry at some points. it's like i'm not my body and i'm just somebody stuck in here, like i only exist for the sole purpose of stabilizing something. though sometimes i believe that maybe that's just me trying to figure myself out - but then again, feeling like i'm a different age isn't something i can choose. i plan on journalling my thoughts and identity, but i have no idea how to start.
to note, i can't get a therapist. my mother actively declines that this is a problem, and believes that she can just “pray it away”. it frustrates me, but i can’t do anything about it. also, sincerest apologies if my text here is a bit hard to read or has some typos, i'm a bit anxious while writing this :-(

I know almost all of these guys are playing cheap old Harmony/Silvertone hollow bodies.. but what kind of pickup can have some articulation and airiness that might work for these sounds, but in a HB sized under $100.

As my heading suggests, my question is about civil services. For instance, let's take IAS. They work 12-15 hours daily, always under stress, sacrificing mental and physical health, sacrificing family life and than what do they get--meagre salaries. I am not talking about corruption. That is corrupted money and can never be use for incorrupted things.
Why do people still go for it. IAS officers never get awarded for their work but they sure get bashed for any mishap. Not forgetting their regular(or irregular) transfers. Isn't that too much for one person to handle.
Less salary, huge, huge work, no appreciation, unable to be filal to parents, spouse or even children. Getting to work at any odd timing. Listening to abuse and rough languages of politicians. Unable to provide good life to their family members. Isn't this too much for a person to bear alone.
I don't promote corruption (can never do it) but I am not blind, if such people who gave their everything, can't they atleast get a monetary gain(not more than 10-15 crores).
Still people say civil servants are corrupted, we should reform the UPSC. Won't the people selected from reforms will too suffer from these.
Huge Mansion- their numbers are slowly decreasing, House help- Working 15-17 hours with small salary, they better die if they have to do even that. Car- That's for official purose. Power-- what power, power doesn't teach my children, power doesn't help my parents to travel after their labourious sacrificies. (I know every parent sacrifice for their their and I believe every parent should deserve this.)
That's it, this is all they get. Just think for a second, an IAS officer (top most service in our country) can't even send their children to good schools now. They can't even travel in 1st AC.
They are not illiterate instead they are too sharp, disciplined, strong minded, calm personality.
How can I say this- bcz these are bare minimum qualities require to get in through UPSC CSE.
And still people say, this is a service, why choose the job if you don't like it's demerits. My answer to them is-- no love for country can go on if their children, parents, spouse are getting starved for basic amenities. Please don't say this is a service that it's not about money... because it really doesn't work like that.
I can only show professionalism when I am getting the same. That's why business partnership with relatives is a bad idea.
I want some answers to this. Reason: I too want to join civil services but these things bother me too much.

My former girlfriend Dakota and I started out as childhood best friends in kindergarten. I did move a few states over for a couple years before moving back, but we religiously mailed each other and called as much as we could. Our parents each joked that we were like sisters, so jokes on them when we got together as girlfriends in 10th grade.
Dakota and I had our ups and downs and we both did a lot of growing as people over the years, but in my humble opinion, we were solid even ten years later, engaged and saving up for marriage, when the car accident happened. Dakota died from sepsis from her injuries, so it was a rollercoaster to deal with the crash, to have her stabilized in hospital and visit her while being told prognosis of PT, and then for her to nose dive again, and finally to lose her. I struggled with grief but my family and friends were huge aspects of my support network. Even Dakota’s parents were a huge help, which I’ll forever be grateful for. After three years of abstaining, I dipped my toes into dating again, with a few dud relationships that eventually fell apart for various reasons, ranging from not meshing to differing points in our lives, before I met my current boyfriend Michael. We have since been together for almost a year and a half at this point.
The ring in question is a simple silver crown shaped band I wear on my right ring finger. When I was in the depth of my grief, it helped a great deal to fidget with it as it helped remind myself to treat myself as a queen, to be gentle and patient with myself, to remember I was loved and love will come again and life will improve, “there is a light at the end of the tunnel”, that sort of thing. I’ve explained to Michael that while Dakota gave it to me, it has also taken on a meaning of self love and self care. He insists that I can at least just wear it on a necklace so that it’s not on my hand where everyone can see constantly, and I’d still be able to fidget with it in a way similar to my normal method and still have it on my person. I’m not a necklace person though, and it felt awkward and uncomfortable around my neck despite giving it two months to adjust. I stopped wearing it as a necklace, going without for a few weeks before I told him I’d like to return to wearing it on my hand, which started a huge fight about how I am prioritizing Dakota over Michael. But other than the ring, he hasn’t been able to tell me any other times that I made him feel second rate, despite me asking genuinely many times during our talks, not even about the ring, before this fight. As in I’ve been checking in about my grief concerning Dakota and how it impacts him, and he doesn’t care about the grave visitations, or when I talk about her or my history with her, but it’s the ring that seems to be the issue. I won’t lie: I feel guilty because he “puts up with” me visiting Dakota’s grave each month or how she features in childhood memories that get brought up, not even by me but by my family.
I need to know if I’m blinded here and missing a reasonable upset to the point I’m being cruel, or if I can talk with him about getting a mediator like a couples therapist to help us both talk our sides better without getting lost in emotional translation. I’ve found having a third party helps when words get mired, either in speaking or hearing, in emotional background noise. I would love us to go to therapy together as it is, but if he’s 110% reasonable and my attachment to the ring is not, then I don’t want to pressure anything.

I'm a 36m in a long-term 6 year relationship with my 27m bf who keeps encouraging other sucdal people with painless effective methods and he gets angry when I ask him if he’s okay after I see the encouragement from him on those sorts of posts. Well the last couple years have been hellish. Idk how to handle this situation since I believe we should encourage people to get proper help and medication. I’ve been sucdal myself my whole life and it’s upsetting to see him in a few different sucde groups on a few different social media platforms telling people real painless methods. I tried to answer them all. Some people were vehement that relapse was indeed part of recovery and who was I to say it wasn't! Other's agreed that relapse doesn't need to be a part of recovery. We agreed that relapse is not an uncommon experience in one's process of recovering.
Here's what I learned from these exchanges: Many people in recovery have had bad experiences when they relapsed where they felt shamed and stigmatized by family or caregivers. These experiences were counterproductive to getting well as people felt even further marginalized and pushed away. When I heard these stories, I immediately understood where people's vehemence was coming from. Shame should never be part of treatment and is counter-productive to helping people recover.
As a provider and a recovering addict, I understand those experiences and feelings well. As an active addict and alcoholic I carried an immense burden of shame every day. When working with clients who have relapsed my first step is to help relieve guilt and remorse post-relapse. I have worked with some relapsers who have a hard time moving back into recovery mode because the shame and guilt overwhelms their ability to plan and execute recovery. The second step is to help clients make a clear-eyed evaluation of why they relapsed. The idea being to learn from the outcome and move forward in recovery. If you have made a mistake how can you learn from it. Relapse then, can be instructive.
To summarize, if you are newly in treatment and looking to be clean and sober, you CAN do it. Put your shoulder into your recovery and don't look back. If you have relapsed, allow yourself to learn from the experience so that it doesn't happen again. Either way, be patient and trust that with time in recovery, your life WILL get better with time.

Does anyone else remember that video where it's the PC v Mac commercial template but had a Protos v Zerg instead and it was the Protos naming off different tactics and the Zerg keeps imploring that Zerg rush is the only and best tactic as a joke ?
