Hello, MnM enjoyers this is my return back to the subreddit to bring news on my progress from the last post like a year ago lol. Progress has been slow but most of my time has been trial and error with multiple MnM groups and teaching new players how to play the game. Currently, I have been inspired by one of my favorite animes and decided to run a MnM game in the setting of One Piece. We have acquired the wacky storyteller gene and now I can't stop writing- However, I had to put brakes on myself to avoid writing a book no one will read. I will share what I have and the problems that occurred.
Crafting a setting in one piece wasn't hard at all but staying away from the canon is my main goal to avoid plot holes and knowledge gaps within reason. So we say its an AU (Alternet Universe) set at a different time after the Void century. Setting established!
The next issue is explaining MnM to players with the amount of freedom they might not be comfortable with at first. To combat this I offered to make players character sheets with simple abilities that they specifically want ignoring arrays and other more advanced techniques. For some reason when a player realizes they have the ability to craft any power or effect, they will always make a nuclear bomb first- To aid in the sheets I personally allow free modulation of sheets to an extent until being finalized. So reworks, backstory retcons allowed for fun.
Finally, Scheduling has been the biggest issue currently so I pivoted to play-by-post and went at a horrible pace of an encounter a week or even a month depending on availability. But this issue hasn't been solved and creates a bigger problem of lost interest when things just take to long. An alternate fix is to schedule a day that works and plan to meet up but no dice as of now.
So far, these have been my major issues with more I haven't share but to me this seems like the standard for any playgroup or big RPG project. My goals for this is to improve my own story telling talents, teach more minds about the freedom of MnM, and have a community that I can socialize with in the long run. Im taking steps towards it and know I'm not ready to intact major advancements being a noobish GM but I got a plan. Private Discord as a start then maybe public in the future but right now this is my progress and would not mind criticism or guidance from other MnM enjoyers. Right now I am crafting a rules list along side my in-depth lore in the meantime. Thank you for your time reading this!

I have never been happy with the way my clothes smell and need some recommendations. I have been using scent/dye free for a couple of years and don’t use any scent boosters or dryer sheets or anything. If I have some lightly worn clothes I honestly can’t tell the difference between those and the freshly washed pile.
First question, if I’m going for like a traditional fresh laundry scent, why am I not finding that with Tide or like the mainstream detergents?
I am really particular with scent and don’t want anything super strong but I want the laundry experience to be more enjoyable and I want my clothes and sheets to smell good

Perhaps something done in the Shibuya Arc, or even the Culling Games Arc where are our characters are participating. Or maybe something entirely different. I think it would be cool if our characters were strong on their own and everything was set up in the Culling Games Arc, them having to maybe ally or something. But we can also have it be basically them fighting together to make themselves stronger and then fight new enemies as well. I’m down for ideas!
I’m also down for a Modern AU roleplay with the original characters. Maybe an OC x CC or CC x CC in that case!

I tend to use character sheets to describe my character, these usually consist of names, background, and personality. More so on appearances, I prefer using animated or drawn references than real life people. I enjoy good enough references where I get the idea of how the character would look like.
The types of characters I write are either the lone wolf type that has some sad past which leads them to want to join someone for a redemption arc or the bubbly character who is the one that brings the mood up and is usually seen as trustworthy and of that kind.
I like all types of tropes, especially enemies to lovers or rivalry. I also really enjoy opposites attract as a whole from either opposite personality or something else they would be opposites in. Enemies to lovers takes my heart, though. I love seeing the characters go past the urge to ultimately hate each other and/or go past their usual way of disliking the others lineage or upcoming.
REQUIREMENT
I think this is my last paragraph on the roleplay. It’s the most important, at least. Requirements. All roleplay searches come with them. Or at least that’s what I heard! But don’t fret, there isn’t much.
I’ve seen this as one of the most used requirements, and I agree with it. As someone who’s first language wasn’t English, I understand that you may not be great at it. But please, I do require a partner that at least has proper use of grammar and punctuation. You don’t even have to use big words or anything, just at least know where to put your periods and the placement of your words.
My second requirement is for you to be LITERATE! Please. I’m a big writer, I tend to ramble on and tend to write more than what I thought I would. (like i’m doing right now) I write multiple paragraphs from the starter until the scene relaxes. I also understand that sometimes writing big blocks of words every response is tiring or boring so I don’t expect it all the time, at least after the starter has been made and in more important scenes. Dialogue also cuts my replies shorter.
Please please please be polite in OOC! We may just be role playing together but kindness goes all ways. If we do include OOC, I enjoy talking about many things. My day, movies, games, funny moments and stories, all of that!

Currently there are 306,186,849 shares of common stock outstanding. Last week, the posted snapshot from Bloomberg indicated that in sum about 1.2 million shares have been bought by GameStop under rule 10b-18. This would decrease the publicly available share count to approximately 305 million. GameStop have now declared they may at any time issue an additional 45 million common shares and 5 million preferred shares.
Tinfoil Prediction: they will issue 10 million common shares at market price and raise the share count (ex counterfeits) to 315 million. That number is divisible by 7. After issuance of those 10 million common shares, they will issue one (fraction of a) preferred share for every 7 common shares (741). The preferred shares will be issued via an issuing agent which happens to be Computershare. Accounts held with the transfer agent, which also happens to be computershare, will receive the preferred shares directly and the remaining 60-70% of preferred shares will be dumped on the depo (DTC) or the brokers, who then can try to distribute them (lol) or rather fight for them because: Holders of shares of Common Stock held in “street name” through a brokerage account, bank or other nominee will not receive physical rights certificates and must instruct their broker, bank or other nominee whether to exercise Subscription Rights on their behalf.
The clue is in the name and preferred shares have some preferable status, such as regular dividends etc. In this particular case, they may have the non-transferable and non (cash-)substitutable right attached to a subscription of common shares, meaning the right to acquire common shares at a predefined price such as for a discount to the market price. This makes preferred shares inherently more valuable than common shares (take a look at BNED this week and their filing on 15 May 2024). Consequently, market participants may compete to receive the preferred shares and may pay a premium for common shares prior to issuance of preferred shares or recall the ones which may have been lent. This may put shorts under water. GameStop may use the proceeds from issuing 10 million shares to strengthen the balance sheet. GameStop might also incentivize holders of preferred stock further by issuing other benefits such as NFT divis, wu tang audio etc. However, the proceeds may also be used to finance equity investments in compliance with GameStops investment policy or repurchase of their common stock. The continuation of such repurchases under rule 10b-18 may be particularly interesting at the time due to the volume restriction based on average trading volume of the preceding four weeks at the time of a buyback under this rule. Currently, the 10 day trading volume is 73.1 million shares (according to Schwab). This is another factor that might put shorts under water. To spell it out clearly: given the action of the last week, GameStop could currently raise capital (but don’t need to) and repurchase a fat amount of its own common stock on the free market and yet remain in compliance with the safe harbor rule.
Substantial rises in the stock price could then incentive GameStop to issue more of their remaining 35 million shares of common stock to procure working capital or capital for future buybacks. However, a decreasing stock price could incentivize GameStop to issue shares and then repurchase them at a lower price, continuously decreasing the share count and thus applying upwards pressure on the price in the long run. Holders of common stock AND preferred stock need not worry about this since proceeds from the business activities could then be rerouted via preferred shares. In the end, every market participant had a right and chance to gain his preferred shares, right ;)

I'm working on worldbuilding for a campaign which uses non-standard races, and found Tasha's Custom Lineages to be underwhelming. Individually balancing races proved tedious and extensive playtesting of each bit of homebrew wasn't possible. I wanted a systemic way to create new more-or-less-balanced races, and to allow players agency in creating their own races or builds.
To that end, I've created Sycamore's Expanded Custom Lineages.
It includes every feature from non-setting-specific races, using the most recent version in case of updates. It provides point values for each feature representing that feature's relative strength, flattens instances of the same ability under different names to a single entry, and gives descriptions which, where possible, remove world-specific lore (such as tiefling origins).
To use this sheet, select features from it until the resulting character uses 100 or fewer total points. If you'd like to view existing races built with this system, check out the 'Existing Races' tab. To see how accurate current point values are to WotC apparent valuations, check 'Point Balance' for average scores and standard deviations of all races.
Use Case

• For times when players propose a lineage substitution, and a DM wants to confirm the change is balanced.
• For split-lineages, like a character whose parents were an elf and a dwarf.
• For homebrew settings, which want to avoid baked-in assumptions about the heavens, hells, elemental planes, and more.
• For adding new races to your world, outside of the standard fantasy mold.
• If you'd like to do some fun grain-of-salt comparisons of existing races to see which are the most overloaded (It's Shadar-Kai). -To have more concrete conversations about the actual power levels of abilities that are widely perceived as broken or overpowered.

Methodology
Getting point values for each feature was a bit involved.
To start, I catalogued all existing traits across all races. Then I found cases with identical functionality and different thematics (such as Natural Weapons), and flattened them to a single ability. I then assigned abilities into broad categories of power; 50 points for a 'build-defining' ability, 20 points for 'substantial power', 6 points for 'situational utility', and 3 points for a 'flavorful option with very niche utility'. These values were selected to encourage selection of flavorful options over raw power.
Then I calculated a total score for each existing race. These values were wildly disparate, with values ranging from ~350 to ~30. For each instance of each ability, I then took the race's total difference from 100 points, divided it by the total number of features, and averaged those instances for each feature to get a 'suggested delta'. These were applied to each feature, to get a rough estimate of how much WotC values each feature.
Finally, I took another pass over the abilities to compare features of a similar nature. For example, 'Hold Breath (1 hour)' from tortle is strictly better than 'Hold Breath (15 minutes)' from lizardfolk and should cost more.
Notes

• I'm not under the impression that these values are perfect by any means. I'll be refining them through feedback and playtesting down the line, but wanted to share the current state of the project.
• In my own games I will likely remove the options for 'Innate Spellcasting (1st, Early)', 'Innate Spellcasting (2nd, Early)', and 'Innate Spellcasting (3rd)'. Providing these options while allowing any spell to be selected is prone to abuse.
• If you'd like to use this sheet, I recommend making a copy of it. I'll be continuing to modify the doc as I do balancing passes, and things may move around unexpectedly.
• I had to strike a balance between keeping abilities recognizable and scrubbing thematics. Consider 'Draconic Cry' and the Kobold's earlier 'Grovel, Cower, and Beg'. Clearly the same ability, clearly two different implementations, but I wanted it to be obvious what the source of each ability was where possible.

Hi guys, looked in the.sub for this I was wondering what i can do to praxtice loud without hurting myself, enforcing bad habits (stuff like blat) Not a jazzy loud but a concert double.triple forte kinda loud. Or DCI. They have great control and balance
I have seen just "play loud in previpus posts" i want to be very loud controlled and have a round tone. Round and bounce Not sure if you have to sacrificesome.stuff for volume tho
For the just play loud, i could use some. direction on songs or music that would. help So far I've only found free sheet music for Scheherazade Prolkeiv Romeo Juliet and MARS! Ride of the Valkyries. Some. Star Wars stuff, like Battle over Coruscant Ive heard lotr. Httyd. Havnt fiund any sheet music for them tho:(

Career changer with personal experience building and setting up PCs, currently a Computer Science student.
Studied about 4 weeks, Messer, CertMaster, Mike Myers (watched a couple sections of his course, not as helpful to me as his Core 1 was), Dion practice exams (scored 80, 81, 82).
You don't need all these training materials. Messer alone is probably enough, I just had free access so I used them.
Passed early this morning with a 736.
75 questions total, 5 PBQs
PBQS: BSOD, Email classification, UPS/Power configuration, Network with infected computers, Helping executive with mobile device email.
I had a few bizarre questions with things I didn't see in any training program.
I had 2 macOS questions, and a handful of easy Linux questions.
Interesting note, the proctors never communicated with me at all. The test just started after the waiting room.
This threw me off since I had a horrific proctor experience for core 1 where I yelled at my proctor for being unhelpful, and condescending, disconnected and reconnected to someone better.
This time around was super smooth.
I covered my dual screens with a sheet, and tested on my laptop. That must have made the difference.
Thanks to all who contribute on here! Next stop Security+, then Network+, in that order since it may help me land a job faster.

The Fifth Annual Inkfort Press Publishing Derby
Welcome to the beginning of the 2024 Publishing Derby! The signup link for this year's event is located below the recap of each phase. Participants are heavily encouraged to read through the overviews before registering.
Phase 1
Sign-ups
The registration form will open on Saturday, May 18th and remain open until we have approximately 100 entrants.
The full list of covers will be released for viewing on Sunday, May 19th.
Reminder: the pen names on the covers are required, as all participants will be asked to remain anonymous for the event. Please see the Official Rules and FAQs for further information.
Cover Ranking
Inkfort will provide a sheet for participants to rank the covers in order of preference. It is recommended that participants do at least ten, but the ultimate decision is on the individual.
The rankings are due Sunday, May 26th at Noon (EST). The sheet should be emailed to Inkfort Press with the author's name on it.
Cover Assignment
Once the sheets have been collected, the Inkfort team will assign every participant a random number. Then, we will assign each contestant a cover based on their ranking.
Example:
Nick gets assigned the number 3
Jane gets assigned the number 2
Max gets assigned the number 1
Max gets his first pick guaranteed since he is assigned a cover first.
Jane gets her first pick unless it was the same as Max’s. If it was, then she gets her number two.
Nick is next, and he gets number one unless Max or Jane got it, then we go down the list until the very first next cover is available, which in this case would be number 3, in the worst case scenario.
If someone doesn’t rank enough covers:
It is up to each participant to choose how many covers to rank. If a scenario occurs where there is no ranking to guide the assignments, they will be assigned one from what remains at our discretion. This assignment is not negotiable. ** Cover Distribution**
Once everyone has been assigned a cover, the Inkfort Admins will distribute the covers via email. This will include a digital copy of the cover, the title, and the pen name.
(Reminder that all participants will be asked to remain one hundred percent anonymous for the event. Please see the Official Rules and FAQs for further information)
Phase 2
Working Phase
The working phase is where participants will plan and write the book for their assigned covers, it runs from Tuesday, May 28th, to Thursday, August 1st.
The event requires a minimum of 10,000 words but does not have a maximum. Beyond the 10k, the size is up to each author.
While writing, keep in mind that all derby materials must meet the community standards of the event.
Participants are also allowed to begin marketing their books during this phase. Details on marketing can be found in Phase 4.
For more on the rules surrounding community guidelines, spending money, and marketing strategies, please see the official rules. As well, Inkfort suggests reading the Best Practices for tips on word count, as well as reader expectations regarding covers and content. Both of these documents and other information are listed at the bottom of the email.
Phase 3
Beta Readers
Beta phase begins Thursday, August 1st, and ends on Thursday, August 15th.
What is Beta Reading? A Beta reader reads a finished story and provides comments, questions, and other styles of feedback to help the author polish prior to publishing.
The Derby Beta Phase has two parts. In both parts, Inkfort acts as an intermediary for feedback, and all Beta readers (including derby authors who participate in this phase) remain anonymous.
Part One:
Inkfort Press emails a list of submitted books to their Beta Reader mailing list. The list will include the titles, short taglines, and blurb.
There is no guarantee that all books will receive feedback.
Part Two:
The second portion is an exchange exclusively between other Derby Authors. All books submitted in this portion ought to receive feedback from another participant, and each author who enters is expected to give feedback to one book.
The Inkfort Staff will compile the books entered and match them based on several factors, including, but not limited to, total word count and genre.
Part two is completely optional, but it is important to note that those who sign up and do not complete their assigned read may be locked out of the program in future events.
The feedback and questionnaires must be emailed back to Inkfort by Thursday, August 15th, at midnight. (EST)
Phase 4
Revision and Marketing phase.
The revision phase begins on Friday, August 16th.
Revision:
This phase is dedicated to revising the books based on feedback and self-edits. Participants are allowed to begin editing at any time, including during the Beta phase.
Marketing:
With the bulk of the writing finished for most participants, this is where the authors are encouraged to begin the bulk of their marketing. Authors are allowed to share details of the event as a whole on their main pages, but anything specific must be under the pen name.
There are two important rules for this portion of the event.
Each author must market under their assigned pen name.
Under no circumstances may an author use their pre-existing fanbase, family, friends, or social media during the derby. Only the author and Inkfort Staff are allowed to know who wrote each book during the event.
This also means authors can not use existing editing relationships, closed crit groups, or anything similar for the derby book. Anything used must also be accessible to a total stranger. It also means that participants should not be narrowing down the pool to those they know. No information about their individual book should be shared while not under the guise of the pen name.
Participants are not allowed to spend money on their derby projects during the event.
Authors can use the software they already own, such as:
Word processors
Formatting software
Rocket
They can not, however, spend money on things like:
Physical copies
Editing
Ads
Supplemental art
Pro-level of software
Phase 5
ARC’s
Arc submissions are due Saturday, August 31st. Arc email will be sent out on Sunday, September 1st.
What is ARC? ARC stands for Advanced Review Copy. These individuals get to read a polished copy of the book before it goes live and are often encouraged to leave a review as soon as possible.
Books that are finished and ready for launch may be submitted by the deadline. Those who do will be added to a list sent to the Inkfort Press ARC Readers list. Similar to Beta, they will see titles, taglines, and blurbs.
Phase 6
Publication
On Monday, September 23rd, all of the finished books should go live.
The following details are up to the authors, although the participants are free to ask questions and have discussions about them.

If a book is not launched by the end of derby, the cover will revert back to Inkfort Press to be used during the next event. Participants may keep the story they wrote and find a different cover at the time they are ready to publish.

If you are running a content-driven website and rely on search traffic, one of the best ways of boosting your rankings is to get backlinks.
There is a simple trick to get backlinks: building a very simple, easy-to-use tool for a niche market.

5. Optional: you can also ask for email addresses from users and capture leads.

Put your domain on the “ref” for your outgoing links to other sites that you linked to them

One of the best ways to get backlinks is to give backlinks. When webmasters see that others are linking them, sometimes they link back. I have seen this tens of times.
So, to alert other websites that you are linking to them is to put a “ref” section to your outgoing links.
Like this: somelink .com/?ref=mysitecom
When they check analytics they will notice your page way more easily and hopefully link back.

Help Reporters & get backlinks or mentions by signing up to HARO

One great way to build backlinks and brand mentions easily is by leveraging yourself as an expert on a particular topic. You can use a service called Help A Reporter Out (HARO) for this purpose.
What HARO does is connecting you with reporters and bloggers who need sources and quotes from industry experts for the stories they are writing.
How To Do It:

1. Sign up for an account at helpareporter.com. Free account gets you free queries which are sent to your inbox 3 times each day. You can also get more with a paid account.
2. Once you’ve pick a query, respond with your quote and a short bio and a link to your website.

Crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter or Indiegogo usually display their supporter's names and websites on their pages.

In the Search Console, you can see which keywords bring the most traffic to which pages. Also, you can see the search volumes of these keywords.
What you need to do is, to check each page on Search Console and analyze their most effective keywords. Then you can optimize your page with the highest volume keywords. Simple.
How To Do It:

1. Go to search console: https://search.google.com/search-console/
2. Go to the “Performance” section
3. Click on “+ new” and choose “page” from the dropdown list and type the URL of a blog post or page on your website. Click “apply”

Now you see all the keywords and search volumes of these keywords that are bringing your page traffic.
Optimize your page to include these keywords. Prioritize the keywords with the highest search volumes!

Write Testimonials To Get Backlinks

You may be using different services for your start-up. Hosting service, brand alerts service, or any type of service.
What you can do is reach out to your service providers and give them a testimonial.
If they include your website and testimonial on their testimonials page, you get an easy backlink.

I lost... again. this time in a mp server that I made (it was just me playing my buddy dipped out) I was so eager to level up my carpentry skill until I reached level 3 I was so happy then, I chopped down trees for wood I worked my ass out to build a wall that surrounds my base.
while I was almost finished with my walls, I took a break watching tv, reading books, eating, drinking chilling as usual, I thought to myself we will win this once the electricity or water goes out because I built a wall, we can safely plant saplings and build a campfire, not to mention I also read the generator magazine so I was pretty confident that we will win.
up until a storm arrived, I was doing the nighttime routine as usual, eating sitting etc, and then I heard a moan, I thought to myself maybe it's just a lone zombie outside, feeling proud of my level 5 axe and level 4 aim I went out and then, once I dropped down from the sheet rope and made my way through the nearest window to check there they are what I thought was a lone dead turns out to be 40 of them.
i fled to gain ground I swung my axe I killed maybe 4 of them until I made my way to secure the left part of the house. Then I reminisced about the time where I fought 2 zombies at once, I was cornered they tore me apart but I managed to set myself free and finish them off, but this time.... it's different.
when I swung my axe I killed one, the other one managed to tank the damage and got stunned for a bit when I was preparing to swing another, I found out there was 2 more from the other side of the house and then they attacked and bit me, I thought "oh no, this is the end." and sure enough one after the other they took turns and when I checked. i was bit.
i tried to run, but it didn't end up as before, but when I did there were 10 more at the back door I tried to shoot but due to lacerations bites and scratches, I fell to my certain death. i was fuming with anger and vengeance that I quickly spawned ran through another horde climbed through one of the available ropes that offers an entrance to our base, I scrambled to arm myself, to cover myself with any thick clothing that we have and when I went downstairs every single downstairs window the front and back door are getting pried open by those animals.
i raised my shotgun faced it through the back door and waited... and waited.. until it gave in. Zombies poured in as I point and shoot, when I ran out of bullets I switched to my crowbar. They kept on pouring and pouring until I managed to break through and take the fight to the undead as I ran to gain ground I turned, I shoot again I managed to wipe out the zombies that are swarming the backdoor as I look back to my wall the unfinished wall I was only filled with dread and anger. i fought them back I shot them I murdered them, but the damage has been done, who knows when can I fully finish the project.
i wiped them out, as I look at my character, all I saw is that he is thirsty, hungry and exhausted. i took the corpses inside the kitchen out the back and I saw my character. dead. he was with them when they broke the back door, I shot him. as I place the rest of the dead on a mass grave, I took my former character to a grave that I made previously. now he rests there with his predecessors.
Now my only goal is to finish the wall in any way. and regain everything that was lost.
