I (24M) applied the I-129F in Feb. 15 of this year and had it come back approved on May 13. We’re still waiting for the NVC to receive it. I’ve listed myself as a student (I’m an electrical engineering junior), but I am working 2 jobs right now that would put me on a yearly wage of around 57k. However, I’m not working year round. I’m alternating semester between working full time in an engineering co-op position and studying on the next (ask me more if it sounds confusing). I’m also working as a front of house member at Chick Fill-a, which I started in early April. That job I do plan on doing year-round.
When it comes to meeting income requirements, to my understanding, I have to make above 100% of the federal poverty line for a household of 2. However, I absolutely won’t have that in my account by the time interview comes. On the other hand, I don’t know how the officer will interpret the pay stubs I’ll put in my I-134. Also, I started working this year, so I won’t have any income taxes or W2’s to put with my I-134. What I’m thinking is to file an I-134 under my dad’s name and mention to the officer that we plan to include him as a co-sponsor when it’s time to do the I-864 (not a lie, I discussed this with my dad).

Not everyone who goes there talks about "what brought them to AA," but deep down, we're all there for the same reason. The point is to find support and strength in our journey towards recovery.
Different groups run things a little differently. In this place, some of the sponsors bring food every week. About an hour into the meeting, we take a break, and everyone gets to mingle and eat. No one is required to talk or mingle, but some people volunteer information about themselves.
One guy came over to me and said something that was honestly just sad

The bravery that these Republicans show when they face the slightest bit of adversity - sometimes it takes my breath away. Now, as of March 2024 Steel now describes herself as an ardent supporter of IVF despite having many times introduced legislation that would have literally criminalized it. She wrote an op-ed piece in the Orange County Register titled Setting the Record Straight on What I Think About IVF in which she spends most of the piece talking about taxes.
Yeah, so she's trying to cover her tracks on her terrible voting record but can't even bring herself to stick the landing. You're not fooling anyone Michelle. The people of Orange County deserve better, even if the White people there scare me on a deep spiritual level. Sure the sunsets are gorgeous but that's unfortunately right when I need to be out of there, okay?! I never get to see them; this is anecdotal evidence as far as I'm concerned! I visited London last month (first time) and I really liked it (granted I stayed within central London).
I have had this idea to try to see if I can work in London for a year or two.
My two major questions are:

1. Would I have to take a massive pay cut? I work in accounting. I’m in 30s and my salary here in NYC converted to GBP is annually around 260K.

Personally it feels a bit lacking in terms fo the freedom given to mess around with designs and what-not.

There is an adoption event tomorrow 5/19 11-7 at a Cannabis Lounge! This is the first event I've been to with my foster.
I've had him for over a month and they don't even have him listed on the rescue website yet. This dog didn't came through them, as would be usual, though. Prospecting is all about “at bats” and ive quickly realized that relying just on warm network is bad business (7 months in).

So, for those of whom don’t remember, there was a time where RT Sponsor dues were just $10 every six months. And when you’re thirteen years old, without a source of income aside from the very rare allowance your mom gives you, $10 is a lot of money. I was neck deep in my love of RT content, but I was dying to take it to the next level with Sponsor exclusive content. So, I bartered with my mom to cover the payments in exchange for chores. Hindsight, she probably got the better end of the deal, but I was over the moon. I got that star next to my name, and that was all that mattered.
Cut to a few years later, they’ve upped the cost from $10 every six months to $19.99 every six months. But, people like me who signed up prior to the price change were grandfathered in and were still paying the old price. However, Chelsea did state that if there was a lapse in payment, you’d lose your grandfather status. Easy enough, right?
If only it could’ve lasted forever. But my mom’s debit card expired, and as you could imagine, this lead to a lapse in payment. Obviously, I was distraught. I was a broke college student, my daily lunch was a bag of microwave popcorn and a can of Arizona Iced Tea. I emailed support and begged them for help, but they told me there was nothing they could do. I told my mom what had happened, and how sad I was, but she insisted I should call and ask to be transferred to whomever was in change. That there had to be someone who could change the price back. I called, got to the supervisor, and they told me the same thing: they couldn’t do anything to help me, and that they were sorry for my predicament. I blamed myself, and wallowed in my self-loathing for a few days.
Imagine my surprise when I’m having dinner with my parents, and I’m telling my dad this whole story, when my mom tells me she’s going to straighten it out. The exchange goes like this:

Here’s something you need to know about my mom: she’s never one to take something lying down. Especially when it comes to her kids. The admin in our schools knew her by name, and knew she wasn’t one to be trifled with. She was like an urban legend. Whenever she felt we weren’t being treated fairly or got in trouble for something that wasn’t our fault, it would only take one phone call before the school was apologizing to her for their “mistake” and hope she would forgive them. I’m pretty sure she was on some sort of call list that immediately routed her to the head of school. Crazy parents wish they could reach my mother’s level. She’s capable of destroying people like a hurricane destroys a city.
So, I knew what it meant when my mom said she was “taking care of it”. It meant she was going to put the fear of god into them. And if they wouldn’t relent, I think she would have got on the first plane to Austin and “taken care of it” in person, which is the nuclear option. Your only choice at that point would be to move out of her way or get rolled over. It’s a terrifying sight.
She showed me the email, and it was everything I feared. It mentioned like ten times that she was my mom, how sad I was, how I cried, how wrong they were, how she wasn’t going to let this happen, they were going to fix this, and how this wasn’t how you treated a child (I WAS IN COLLEGE). Needless to say, I was horribly embarrassed. I needed to leave the country, assume a new identity, get plastic surgery to change my face, then make a new account on the site. The best I could hope for was that her email would go into a junk folder for crazy moms and they would never read it.
I was not so lucky.
A few days later, my mom shows me how she got a response from someone who was at the top of the food chain.
God strike me down, for it was the people’s Queen herself.

So they weren’t able to give my case the care it deserved. But reiterated what we heard from four different people at customer service: there was nothing that could be done.

I was mortified.
Twelve years I was the girl with the terrifying mom in school, now her terror has spread amongst the RoosterTeeth staff.

TL;DR: Lost my grandfathered sponsor rates due to an expired debit card. My mom decided to intervene when I gave up hope, and sent a SCATHING email to RT support. Barbara herself responded and was very nice and helpful. I’m still embarrassed about this.

For context I have 18 months sober, I did the 12 steps of AA with a sponsor, I still have that sponsor but have been distancing myself from AA and the dogma.
The past couple of months I've been seeking recovery outside of AA like in therapy, recovery dharma, and CoDA. Since then I feel like my AA sponsor is cracking down on me more. She's kinda making me feel pressured or ashamed for not doing things the AA way. Also she used to give me relevant suggestions for my issues but now pretty much all she says when I come to her is to pray about it. The other day she begged me to start praying daily and essentially religiously.
My distancing myself from AA and her reaction has caused a rift in our relationship. She said she understands my decision and nothing has changed between us but I feel like it has.
I'd prefer we were just friends at this point. I know it's normal to fire your sponsor, especially since our personal and spiritual beliefs differ greatly, but I've never done it before. Any advice on how to broach the topic?
For more context I provide childcare at her church one day a week for extra cash. She doesn't work with me but I always see her because she's at the church during the same time I am, point being I can't just avoid her.

Either in 2023 or 2022 (most likely 2023), I saw a bunch of youtube videos that were sponsored by this app. They must of done a limited time sponsoreship run, because it ran for a few weeks, then I never saw another sponsored vid again. It definitely was an app for PC, not sure if it was also for mobile.
Anyways, it looked like a great app. It looked like you could open your computer files in it (or at least link to them some way), and that way you could link together similar files that are stored in different folders on your pc. You could take notes in it also, and make all kinds of different things like lists and graphs. I also remember it being fairly colourful, and it looked like the UI was clean and well organized. I've checked out all the top apps (from youtube vids, google results, and this subreddit), but none of them look like it.
If you know what app this is, I'll be super grateful for letting me know! Even if you're not sure and can recommend something that sounds similar, I'd appreciate that! Some features that I would want (and seem rare in modern notes apps) are: one time payment for lifetime license (rather than monthly payments), and being able to use the app completely offline (and if it does have cloud, option to turn this off cause privacy is important to me).
