2024.06.02 07:09 Watching_The_Trees Sienna buying experience April 2024
This all took place over the course of about 6 weeks. It was a little over two weeks until we were able to reserve a car and then had to wait another 4 weeks for delivery. My wife and I took turns reaching out to dealers in between work and kids.
- Dealer 1 - $5k markup, non-negotiable, no Siennas on the lot and everything had a waitlist.
- Dealer 2 - Woodland, found car on toyota.com, started purchase online through Toyota’s SmartPath (the estimate you see online is what you’ll pay at the dealership). Received call immediately and said they would send over all the details so I can confirm and move forward. I thought this was strange since all the details, with OTD pricing was online. Six hours later they send a new price breakdown with an additional $5k markup. When I asked why the price changed they came back with a $2k markup for window tinting. I said MSRP and they said sales manager won’t go any lower since I am not local.
- Dealer 3 - XLE, MSRP price, but required GPS-based theft prevention add-on for $1,300, no deal.
- Dealer 4 - No cars available, reservations are only for locals, if you are out of town you can only buy what is on the lot
- Dealer 5 - MSRP, no add ons, 6-8 month waitlist, but will probably be sooner.
- Dealer 6 - XLE Sienna on lot, $3k markup. Dropped to $1k markup after I asked for MSRP. Back and forth was slow as both of us were busy, they ended up selling to someone else.
- Dealer 7 - 2 Siennas on lot (XLE & XSE), setup appointment and showed up the next day. (Website shows MSRP pricing) I show up the next day and there are no Siennas on the lot, but one coming in next week, which I can have for a $7k markup. I said MSRP and was told no way, so we left.
- Dealer 8 - XSE, MSRP pricing, but would have to have it shipped from the East Coast. Asked for dealer to pay shipping, but no dice. Felt like we could do better.
- Dealer 9 - Limited available, waitlist for other trims. Avoided question on dealer markups.
- Dealer 10 - XLE on lot. Antitheft required addition. Tried negotiating, but conversation petered out.
- Dealer 11 - XSE on lot with $2k markup, $1,200 theft prevention, and a few dealer options installed including paint protection. They weren’t negotiating.
- Dealer 12 - MSRP pricing, waitlist 6-12 months
- Dealer 13 - MSRP pricing, waitlist 6-12 months
- Dealer 14 - MSRP XSE available, however it came with the premium package and I didn’t want to pay for that.
- Dealer 15 - No Siennas available, said they usually sell them for above MSRP
- Dealer 16 - XSE available for reservation, but I had to do it in person. They kept providing ambiguous answers in regard to their pricing. It was a 3.5 hour drive for me, so I wasn’t going to go unless they provided some details. They promised to send over pricing info, but never sent it.
- Dealer 17 - XLE and Woodland available for reservation at MSRP (long drive for me, but doable). However paint protection and theft prevention are required for $1,300, not negotiable unless we did a trade in at a price that was thousands below my best offer elsewhere. Kept trying to negotiate, but they weren’t budging much. Finally salesman agreed to knock a few hundred dollars off, but sales manager said no. Surprised on this one, we thought we were going to make a deal and a few hundred apart they wouldn’t agree. We were honest with informing them we were considering another car that had more add-ons. They must have done some sleuthing through Toyota’s inventory with the car details we had shared and identified who we were talking to. They named the dealer in our conversation and bad-mouthed them, saying they would pull dirty tricks once we went to purchase the car. This deal fell apart at the finish line and left a bad impression on us.
- Dealer 18 - XLE and Woodland available for reservation. No dealer markup, but dealer installed options inflated the price. I could easily fly to this dealership on a cheap ticket, no BS from sales, so we agreed on MSRP price and placed a reservation.
My mistake through all this was trying to use the internet as a tool to identify Sienna inventory. It seemed to me almost all dealer websites were works of fiction when it came to showing their Sienna inventory, what was reserved and what was available.
Toyota.com seemed more accurate, but compared to dealer website, it isn’t saying much. Sometimes a car listed as available on
Toyota.com was actually available.
What I would do differently
- Reach out to dealers over the phone instead of submitting requests online. This will just be a more efficient use of time . Half the time I was put in contact with someone who wasn’t a sales person and couldn’t provide the information I was looking for. A number of times I asked a question and it was ignored or side stepped. Sometimes I got no response from the internet team.
- Treat window tinting, paint protection, and theft prevention as a red flag. Any dealer who mentions one of these or has added it to their car, I would cross off my list and never talk to again. There are plenty of dealers who don’t do this and I think it is an easy tell that you don’t want to work with them. I didn’t have any good experiences when this was on the table.
- Negotiate harder on having dealer installed options removed that I don’t care about.
- See who is active on the No Markup Toyota Facebook page and talk to them first. I only had positive and productive interactions with the people on there.
- Focus on building a short list of dealers you want to work with and figuring out how they operate. Then i is a matter of checking in with them periodically, especially around allocation time.

2024.06.02 07:02 Immediate_Report_316 form filling GOOD or BAD
form filling GOOD or BAD
What is form filling? - form filling is a way to enter a buyer giveaway via filling out a form on whatnots website , entering you into a buyer giveaway.
Honest opinion - Form filling is okay , and doesn’t take away from the actual buyers. Let me explain.
For one , it’s legal. Yes yes I know , “it’s legal” well it is , and if you don’t like the laws go re-write them! Be my guest! Form filling doesn’t take away from buyers because 9 times out of 10 , a buyer usually wins. Form fillers are just an inconvenience , that’s all. Is it wrong to potentially take away from buyers? No, because EVERYONE should have a chance. Not just buyers!
Should you send a form filler their win? -
Yes , you should. Be the better person! Don’t be an immoral jackass and switch up their prize , because what did they do wrong? at the end of the day… nothing! send it and go on about your day , it isn’t worth the strike you may get!
Should you break all of whatnots TOS trying so eagerly to have one of your buyers win?
No! Don’t be a rule breaker , so what if your buyer doesn’t win. That’s okay! They’ll have another chance next time!

2024.06.02 06:09 MasterEmerald [US,US] MasterEmerald's 167th Trade Post [H] SV, SWSH, SM, XY, Older TPCi, WotC and more! [W] Want List, Paypal, Binders
Hi there everyone! Welcome to my
167th trade post. I'm a toddler dad now, so please give me some time to get back to you. Check out what I've got this week :)
I've linked my account here to the subreddit discord as well: knuxem95#3785. I do prefer doing business through Reddit, however.
Almost all pictures below are timestamped today, with the exception of the jumbos, figures, and pins. I will get to that upon request as it takes a good amount of time to do it.
Here's what I've got to offer as well as what I'm looking for:
HAVES Main Binders and Desirables
Other Stuff
WANTS
- Wants List here (An "X" in the document means I have that card already!, "Inc" means it is on the way to me!). My current priority is WotC cards (Neo and promos). After that, I'm interested in all XY/SM/SWSH series cards I don't have already. Reverse Holo and 1st edition cards are a lower priority than the unlimited cards, but all offers will be considered!
- Share your binders!
PRICING NOTES
- In general, if I am selling, prices will be approximately 10% off Verified TCGPlayer Low prices for the quality of the card.
- Trade prices will reflect the actual Verified TCGPlayer Low prices.
- Generally always open to selling, just ask!
- Topps cards are priced via TrollandToad, if possible. These will be priced at around 80% of the NM cost, as most of mine are not NM.
- Japanese cards are priced via eBay sold, if possible.
- Sale prices will be listed with Paypal Goods and Services fees included. I have the discretion to ask for Friends & Family, but G&S is always okay.
- Trade prices will be based on actual prices listed, since fees don't need to be included, typically.
SHIPPING NOTES
- I'd prefer to do sales/trades with a value of no less than $5.00, due to shipping costs. Thanks in advance for understanding!
- Plain White Envelope: $1.00 in addition to any other costs for sales. Only for 4 cards or less, worth $20.00 or less.
- Bubble Mailers: $3.00 in addition to any other costs for sales. For cards worth $20.00 or more.
- All shipping includes appropriate protection for cards/goods shipped.
Thanks everyone!

2024.06.02 05:56 No_Classic_2467 Scammer on FB Marketplace in GSO area?
| Hi everyone, I'm writing to see if anyone can help me. I recently purchased an item from a man on FB marketplace who seems to be based in McLeansville. His name is Josh Fishel. I paid $120 for an item he still has listed for sale (a Sony video walkman) and even sent him generous extra funds ($50) for shipping. Since then he's gone silent. I don't know what to do. Do any of you know of this person? He gave me a phone number (which I called) but the man who answered got off the phone in a hurry saying I had the wrong number. I tried requesting a refund for the first payment but I'm worried that'll get ignored, too. I really hope it can get resolved somehow but I just don't know where to turn. ☹️ I'm an honest and generous person and I want to give this guy the benefit of the doubt, but my gut says I've been conned or scammed. At the very least it's probably important for all of you to be aware of this person in your community. submitted by No_Classic_2467 to gso [link] [comments] |

2024.06.02 05:30 digimarketeronline How to become a seller on Amazon?
Becoming a seller on Amazon is relatively straightforward. Here's a general overview of the steps you'll need to take: (For a detailed understanding click the link "Amazon FBA" in my bio to get the eBook)
- Create an Amazon Seller Account: Visit the Amazon Seller Central website and sign up for a seller account. You'll need to provide basic information about yourself or your business, including your name, email address, and contact information.
- Choose a Selling Plan: Amazon offers two types of selling plans: Individual and Professional. The Individual plan has no monthly subscription fee but charges a per-item fee for each sale. The Professional plan has a monthly subscription fee but allows you to sell an unlimited number of products without paying a per-item fee. Choose the plan that best fits your business needs.
- Complete Registration: Follow the prompts to complete the registration process. You may need to provide additional information, such as your business name, address, and bank account details for receiving payments.
- Verify Your Identity: Amazon may require you to verify your identity as part of the registration process. This could involve providing documentation such as a government-issued ID or utility bill.
- Set Up Your Seller Profile: Once your account is registered, you can set up your seller profile. This includes adding information about your business, creating product listings, and configuring shipping and fulfillment settings.
- List Your Products: Start listing your products for sale on Amazon. You'll need to provide detailed product information, including titles, descriptions, prices, and images. You can list products individually or in bulk using tools like Amazon Seller Central or third-party listing software.
- Optimize Your Listings: Optimize your product listings for visibility and conversion by using relevant keywords, high-quality images, and compelling product descriptions. Consider leveraging Amazon's advertising tools to increase exposure for your listings.
- Fulfill Orders: When customers place orders, you'll need to fulfill them promptly. You can choose to fulfill orders yourself (merchant fulfillment) or use Amazon's fulfillment services (Fulfillment by Amazon, or FBA) for storage, packing, and shipping.
- Provide Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and processing returns or refunds as needed.
- Monitor Performance: Keep an eye on your seller performance metrics, including order defect rate, late shipment rate, and customer feedback. Maintaining good performance metrics is essential for account health and long-term success on Amazon.
By following these steps and actively managing your seller account, you can start selling products on Amazon and grow your business on one of the world's largest e-commerce platforms.

2024.06.02 05:25 MySpoonsAreAllGone Selling off my recent purchases - bag #5
| Hello beautiful people! As mentioned in my last post, I went nuts and bought too many bags from the gate and I only plan to use 1. Disclaimer: These are low/mid tiers at best. They will not pass as an Auth in knowledgeable circles. Please only consider buying if you like the bag and don't care with others think Bags are unused and as shipped to me. Some have creases that need to get smoothed out, hopefully with use/time. Each bag seems to be decently made as a bag, not as a rep. If the mods allow it, I will post seperate posts for each bag (about 5 for now) so I can share enough pictures per bag (20 max per post). I have my username and the date in the pictures. I have additional close up pictures in my post history if you want to see those as well. 5th bag for sale is this large roomy foldable "longchamp" nylon waterproof tote bag - $20 plus shipping based on your address. Hello All,
Updated Timestamp, Videos, and Photos CLICK HERE Up for sale is this beautiful Microtech LUDT Generation 2 from October of 2022. It is now discontinued.
Received in a trade and I have decided to trim down my collection instead of carrying. I don't believe this was ever carried or used, hence the [A] "as new" grade. The only mark I can see are two tiny areas on the very edge of the pocket clip, but that could just be from the finish at the factory. Fires hard, and obviously original sharpened edge that has never been touched.
Price: $275 Shipped NET

2024.06.02 05:18 yeah_definitely Selling house and moving overseas
Hi all,
I have been lucky enough to get a fairly nice job offer for a role in the UK (not London) which I have accepted. I own a house here in Christchurch which I will be selling (don't plan to rent it), and had a few questions about the process.
- Is it better for me to sell the house while here or wait to list once I leave? I can see pros and cons to both but I'm not sure what is the norm. It seems logical to sell it empty and just stage it, but it also would be easier to manage from here while I'm still around. Obviously I'll do all the lawyer and real estate agent stuff beforehand no matter what.
- I am unable to buy a house in the UK for a while, and as I bought my house pre-covid I'll have a bit of extra $$ floating around from the sale. I would probably like to put this somewhere safe (e.g. term deposit or safe investments) after the sale. What would potentially be the best approach here, keeping in mind I'd possibly like to draw down my money for a mortgage there if I end up staying long term.
- Might be a silly question, but is there a thing where you can get a buildeinspector to come round and just identify things that need fixing? I'd rather get it all sussed out now rather than wait until someone gets a building report and have to get it all done under pressure, but honestly I'm not sure what might need doing at this point!
Also, as I have some relocation costs as part of my offer, so I'll want to find a moving company to ship a few boxes, so if anybody has any recommendations that would be great. I'm not taking big stuff, just want some boxes delivered, picked up and sent over.
And if anybody happens to be able to recommend real estate agents for Christchurch (south west) that are reasonable price, good at their jobs but also not absolute scumbags that would be really appreciated.
Any other advice would also be greatly appreciated from anyone who has done this before!
Cheers!

6700 XT Timestamps Looking to trade for a GPU within the $350-$425 shipped price range, within performance expectations of a 3080 12GB/6800XT on the lower end and 3080TI/6900XT on the higher. I have a MSI Mech 2X RX 6700 XT to exchange for a $230 value to supplement your card’s sales value.
Will be building in a Fractal Terra with an IS-55 CPU cooler, so GPU dimensions will need to allow for sufficient clearance (322mm length, refer to
this chart for width and height).
84095 area code; willing to travel local within Utah/Salt Lake County for in-person testing and swap.
