'm finally planning to buy my first car. I've had a car before, but it was owned by my dad, so I never really got to know how much it costs to own one. Keeping that in mind, I want to purchase a budget car that meets the following criteria:
The purpose of getting a car is to improve my driving skills (I haven't driven in about three years) and to understand all aspects of car ownership. Additionally, I want to enjoy my remaining bachelor years before getting married. After 2-3 years, I plan to upgrade to a Jeep Meridian or something in that range.
Initially, I planned to get a used Volkswagen Polo because it's one of my favorite cars that I can actually afford. However, after looking at all the options, well-maintained used Polos are priced around 5.5 - 6.7 lakh, which is close to the cost of a new car like the Swift or Baleno.
Lastly, I will be getting this car in Bangalore and looking into financing since the interest rate seems to be 9%, which is close to the rate of inflation. So, it's better to use debt to get a depreciating asset with the comfort of paying installments.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

- 1 year at a government research agency working on control software for particle accelerators
- All work experience was before & during my undergrad and postgrad studies (all full-time: office, remote, and placement year).
- Relevant Languages: Fluent in English (though not a native speaker), very limited Mandarin.
- Looking to stay in Shanghai for around 2 years.
- My passport doesn't allow long-stay multi-entry L visas. I’ve managed to get a 60-day single-entry L visa before (considered rare for my passport), but I’ve been told by the visa people that I can’t stay longer than 6 months within a 12-month period using short-term L visas.
- Therefore, I need to secure a work (Z) visa or, as a last resort, an X1 student visa (though scholarship applications for this year seem to be closed).
- Applied to over 200 jobs at 100+ companies (multinationals, domestic companies, schools, etc.) in the past 2 months.

- Applied to a variety of positions: software-related, IT and tech support, CS/Programming & ESL teaching, customer support call centers, SEO optimization, QA/Localisation, marketing, various internships, etc.
- I've been open and flexible in my job search, willing to make sacrifices in career progression for roles I may be overqualified for or not directly related to my background.
- Multinationals seem to only need seniors or team leads with many more years of experience and have, for the most part, ghosted me.
- Expat websites are flooded with listings for teaching jobs that have good benefits and (frustratingly) loose requirements but require native English speakers.
- Many English-related jobs (localization, proofreading, digital content creation, translation QA, user research, etc.) inexplicably require native English speakers. Despite being able to excel in these roles and achieve a high IELTS/TOEFL score if needed, I am deemed unqualified solely due to my passport.
- HR on Chinese job boards have shown a lot of interest in me, but most Chinese companies don’t seem to be currently hiring international talent.
- Planning to stay in Shanghai later this year for as long as my tourist visa allows, to continue job hunting in person. I am hoping that this will simplify the process and improve my chances. I will have, at most, 3 months on my L visa.
- If during that time I still don't manage to secure work, I really won't know what else to do, as I may not be issued another L visa.

TL;DR: I feel stuck and unsure how to proceed with a breakup after my terminally ill parent's situation gave me an intense desire to go out and 'live'.
After my parent's diagnosis, I have been rather emotionally numb. Recently however, I have suddenly been hit with the realisation of my mortality that life is short. I have been crying, having anxiety attacks. I feel old, I want to be like I was back in university, following my dreams. In order to follow my dreams this will take a substantial chunk out of time I have with my partner.
Myself and my partner do not live together still. We refuse to rent, we wish to buy, but he hasn't saved for it, and honestly neither have I. Maybe because I don't want to move in or am scared too.
The problem is he is extremely lovely. A great person, kind, gentle, understanding. If I am honest, a very good man because he was raised around mainly women. He says all the right things and works hard to repair any issues or conflicts we may have. He is very smart and thoughtful.
I don't want to regret losing this, especially a big supportive family that he has, but I don't know if I can be stuck, looking at the same 4 walls of his room every other weekend. We both have our own jobs, see each other once a week, don't text much at all outside of that. I worry that I love him a lot, but might not be in love with him because of this. We had a major break through last year where we almost broke up, but didn't.
He has changed his mind about having kids... or at least said it would be nice to. He sees his sister with her new baby and feels the pressure from his family and this frankly medieval (?) notion to continue his bloodline. But that is his option and I respect that. I see his sister and I feel the opposite - makes me want them less, especially since his sister is in this terrible marriage (not just my opinion, the whole family thinks so too). I see them and I want to run, fast. I don't want that. I don't want a commitment like that.
Having a partner is fine, there is an out, having a kid... has complications and you can never leave. It's permanent. Permanency freaks me out.
If I do part ways, once my partner dies I will essentially only have friends left. I don't have a close bond with external family and an only child.
I feel I am stuck in a time loop of when I was 21 with him but I am aging rapidly and not following my dreams. There are times I want to do certain things, but my partner is protective of me and doesn't wish for me to go alone. But I can't wait around for him to have the time either, especially since we have differing interests.
I've never been clubbing, never lived alone, never travelled outside the country alone... I have been holding back from doing things because I have always been tethered to someone. I've never had a 'single era' and I'm terrified of it.
Has anyone experienced this and can you tell me how you went about approaching this?

I had a reading once with a psychic and she told me I have a spirit guides. I kinda don't believe it because I haven't seen one nor I have a 3rd eye. Several days after that I dream about my spirit guides telling me that they're always by my side and that they love me. There were two of them 1 guy and 1 woman. They have buff bodies and the woman has long black curly hair. In that dream, it was also night and they talk to me a lot and when morning came they said they have to go since they have other works as well. I was sad and beg them to stay and even have them promise me to meet again at night, I woke up after that. The 2nd night, I can't sleep no matter what I do, I'm also skeptical wether what I dream was real or not so yeah no meetup in dreams happen again but that night I can feel like there's a static electricity at the back of my head just below my neck I don't know if it's related to that. There's also a scene one night where I was so frustrated because I couldn't bought the thing I badly need. I also think they're giving me signs specially when I'm about to do a bad decision like one time "I decided to skip my exam, because I'm prioritizing my other workloads, suddenly I smell ritual oils again and I feel like my forehead is getting cold. I didn't think much of it. I was on my way home, when my groupmates told me that the deadline for my workload was moved, that means I don't have to skip my exam, so yeah I went back to school again that time (that was a waste of money and time seriously). Hey everyone. I’m not the best with money so be nice lol. Just need some advice.
I’m 23. I went through a lot these last few years and made some shitty financial decisions. For example I bought a car 3 years ago and now I’m way upside down in the loan. I owe 18k and the car is worth 10k.
I have 3k in credit card debt and 1.5k in very high interest personal loans. I also have 20k in student loans. My credit score tanked last year. I was stuck for a long time in a serving job and now I owe almost 2k on my taxes. I literally made 35k last year and now I make around 42k.
Things are improving but I’m falling behind on the credit card payments and I’m struggling every month to make ends meet. I am going for a promotion at my job which should bring in a few more dollars an hour. I also got my last semester of college fully funded through my work, so no more student loans. The plan is to be in a salaried position at my company by the end December (65k), and I have several people working closely with me to make sure it happens but obviously there’s no guarantee.
My question is do I take out a portion of my old 401k (it’s been sitting in an account from my job two years ago) so I can survive until things get better. I have 7k in the account. I just recently started contributing to a 401k through my new job. I’m thinking of taking out half and rolling over the other half. With half of the account I can pay the 2000 I owe on my taxes, sit some of the money in a high yield savings (I have no emergency fund rn), and put the rest toward my credit cards to reduce the amount of bills I have to pay every month. Otherwise I’ll keep living by my same budget and trying to cut costs wherever possible.
I know this is a huge, huge, huge no no in personal finance, and I’m losing myself hundreds of thousands of dollars in a few decades. My hope is that by finishing school and making a more comfortable wage I can contribute a higher percentage to my retirement accounts soon, and pay myself back some of what I took out. I wouldn’t be considering it but I feel like I have no other way to come up with the 2k for my taxes.
Any advice is more than appreciated!

So my (22f) and my best friend/roommate (22f) ‘hannah’ have been best friends since the beginning of college. She has always been a good friend to me. However, every time we hang out with other people together (specifically my other friends) she is super rude and uninterested. She blames this on her social anxiety, which I also have and know it presents in different ways. But last year at my birthday party I had invited hannah and me and my boyfriend’s friend group, which is a group of like 6 couples and I’m very close to all of them. All the girls are very inclusive and welcoming. I warmed up so quickly with them when I first met them even though I have social anxiety. At my birthday party Hannah seemed very uninterested and not engaging. The girls would try and include her into conversation and she would give short answers and then get back on her phone and not interact. About an hour into the party she said she was ready to leave because no one is including her and the girls are being rude to her. This made me so frustrated I ended up crying because it’s my birthday and I wanted to have a good time and instead I’m having to worry about her not having a good time and everyone else ask me why she’s mad/not having a good time. After this my boyfriend said she’s never allowed to hangout with our friend group again because of how rude she was. But this year she cleared her schedule for my birthday weekend and I will be celebrating with the same group. I know she will be pissed if I don’t invite her and invite everyone else. But I want to have a good time and not have to worry about her the whole night. So AITAH for not inviting her to my birthday celebration?

I think Suicide Mission is the perfect difficulty to play on for fun, as it keeps you on your toes without drowning you in heavies everytime all the time.
I will make sure to provide a free option anytime my first choice is locked behind a premium warbond.
BUILD 1 - The Light of Democracy

The Orbital Laser and Airstrike can help with Heavies, but the former is best used to clear out a base or burn away a mass of enemies. Also remember: If you kill the hind sack on a titan, it can't spew anymore and will be mostly neutered.

Primary: Eruptor or Scorcher - Unfortunately the Scorcher is the only 'explosive' Primary in the standard warbond Secondary: Grenade Pistol or Redeemer Grenade: Impact Support: Grenade Launcher or Autocannon - The Grenade Launcher vs Bugs, the AC vs Automatons Backpack: Supplypack if using Grenade Launcher Stratagems: EAT, 500kg, 380mm Barrage or Precision Strike
How to play: In both variants your Support Weapon will be your main armament. Learn how to animation cancel the eruptors reload to use it more like another grenade launcher. The sensible choice for secondary is the redeemer and I prefer it on semi auto, but this isn't about sensibility, this is about freedom! On bugs you'll be the bane of spewers. Just plonk their behind 2 times and watch them explode - so satisfying. In general, you'll have a lot of wave clear potential and the EAT is there to solve your heavy problems. On Automatons you can kill everything with a few well placed shots and should prioritize as normal. Littering the Map with EATs is always a good practice, you can call 78 of those guys over a 40 minute game, so just do it everytime you remember.
Build 3 - The Bullethellion
ArmorPassive: Fortified or Engineering Kit Primary: Breaker-variant or Pummeler- I would recommend the Breaker Incendiary for obvious reasons, but the base breaker is a wonderfull weapon Secondary: Redeemer - duh. Grenades: Thermite or Impact Support: MG-43 Backpack: Supplypack Strategems: AutoCannon Sentry, 380mm
How to play: Anything in front of you should die by lead poisoning. Thermite and the AC Sentry can deal with or soften up heavy armor for you. On bots your priority is to scrap any and all infantry bots the moment you see them. All of them can call in bot drops, but only if they are alive to do so. Nothing is more important and nobody is more qualified to do this then you are. A tank that never drops is as good as a dead tank. On bugs you will struggle to close holes, while thermit can close them, it takes time and they tend to stick to inopportune spots, so practice your aim. The 380mm can delete a big base by itself.

I had three friends whom I've known a little over a year; we're in the same class. We weren't super close, but still hung out at school and texted each other occasionally.
6 months ago, I was diagnosed with a burn-out because a lot of bad things happened in a short time-span, and they knew about all of it. I told them I wouldn't be able to attend classes in a while, but that I'd still be studying from home as often as possible. Of course they understood and told me to take my time and to ask for help if I needed it.
However, I made the mistake of only reaching out to them if I needed help, without me realizing it. Socializing in general drains my energy a lot in my current state, so I was way too focused on keeping up with school and not so much on maintaining our friendship. They quickly called me out on it and told me that they felt used by me if I only texted them when I need something. I told them that they were right and that I'd try and be a better friend to them again.
I kept my promise by starting to be more active in our group's chat again, but it kind of felt like they were ignoring my texts at this point. They were only responding to each other, not to me. I thought maybe we just needed to see each other again and reconnect. But when I went to school for the exams, I got the same treatment. I walked up to them and greeted everyone, but they barely even acknowledged my presence. I got a small "hi" before they continued talking to each other. And it went like that the entire week.

6 months ago, I was diagnosed with a burn-out because a lot of bad things happened in a short time-span, and they knew about all of it. I told them I wouldn't be able to attend classes in a while, but that I'd still be studying from home as often as possible. Of course they understood and told me to take my time and to ask for help if I needed it.
However, I made the mistake of only reaching out to them if I needed help, without me realizing it. Socializing in general drains my energy a lot in my current state, so I was way too focused on keeping up with school and not so much on maintaining our friendship. They quickly called me out on it and told me that they felt used by me if I only texted them when I need something. I told them that they were right and that I'd try and be a better friend to them again.
I kept my promise by starting to be more active in our group's chat again, but it kind of felt like they were ignoring my texts at this point. They were only responding to each other, not to me. I thought maybe we just needed to see each other again and reconnect. But when I went to school for the exams, I got the same treatment. I walked up to them and greeted everyone, but they barely even acknowledged my presence. I got a small "hi" before they continued talking to each other. And it went like that the entire week.
Now I realize I missed a lot while I was gone for a few months; they knew more about each other than I did at this point, so it was difficult to jump into the conversations they were having. Maybe I seemed too passive to them, idk. I tried asking about their lives, but I received really curt answers and then they went back to ignoring me. And they never once asked about me. I felt really unwelcome and unwanted the entire time.
After the week of exams, I stopped responding in our group's app because it genuinely felt like they were done with me. What I find strange about it though is that they directly asked me to be a better friend, but then they didn't give me the chance to be one. I’ve made posts on here before about how unstable AP is. They have constantly caused issues and have tried reaching out anytime they get the chance even when blocked. They will create fake numbers and social media accounts to stalk us and get their friends to do so. They originally messaged me claiming they had “no idea my WP was with someone else”, only to find out that was a lie and they essentially have begun stalking me now too.
My WP claimed AP SA’d them later on. When AP reached out to me and wanted to meet up to show me “proof” of my WP cheating, they touched me inappropriately multiple times despite me asking over and over for them to stop and even then tried to full on have sex with me. This resulted in me getting out of there as soon as I could, which was extremely hard to do with how they were behaving.
My WP knows this and they also know I have a lot of trauma from being SA’d in the past, so this really hit home for me and my mental health hasn’t been very well over it. Instead of being supportive, they have actually just continued to accuse me over and over of “probably lying about it because I most likely slept with AP and am hiding the truth”. They constantly tell me they have “no reason to believe me” and that “maybe I shouldn’t have gone to AP’s house in the first place”.
This hurts on such a deep level I can’t even describe it to you. I have not been sure if I’ve wanted to re-enter into R with my WP for awhile now. we both have demanding jobs and by the time we get home, we're both exhausted. but somehow, i always end up being the one who has to do the cooking, cleaning, and other household chores. he just plops down on the couch and plays video games or watches tv. i tried talking to him about it and he said he’s tired too and needs to unwind. but like, don't i also deserve to unwind? it's not like my job is any less stressful.
the other day, i came home super late from work because i had to stay for an extra meeting. i was really hoping he'd have started dinner or at least thought about it, but nope. the kitchen was a mess from the night before and he was sitting there playing his stupid game. when i asked him about dinner, he got all defensive and said i was nagging. seriously, nagging? because i asked about dinner?
and it’s not just the chores. it feels like he never listens to me. i try to talk to him about my day or things that matter to me, and he’s always so distracted, either on his phone or the computer. i just want to feel heard, you know? like what i say and feel actually matters.
then there's the intimacy thing. it feels like he's only affectionate when he wants sex. i'm not saying that i don’t enjoy being close, but sometimes i just want to cuddle or talk or just feel connected without it leading to something more. but whenever i try to initiate that kind of intimacy, he brushes me off or makes it sexual. it makes me feel like that's all he sees me as.
i’ve been contemplating whether this is something worth continuing. i love him, but i’m not sure if love is enough when it feels so one-sided. has anyone else dealt with something similar? how did you handle it? is there a way to make him understand without coming off as nagging or overbearing? i’m just really lost right now and could use some advice.

Anybody who has more than one kid in the family knows that one of them is a "pick me" child. Well I have one, my older sister. How do I describe her, you know the Pokemon Ditto? Yes just like that, a purple blob that mimics any Pokemon, she mimics anyone. She made my life a living hell. Get ready Reddit it's a long one. I will have to break this up into multiple parts.
Let's start with my childhood/teen years. So my older sister is a couple years older than me and our dad was married to her mom. Anyway our dad ends the marriage when he finds out her mother was cheating on him. A little bit after that my mom and dad got together and well ....they got married and then I was born. A couple of years later my little sister was born. My older sister's mom pretty much screwed my parents and had to take her every other week. God I hated those weekends because we had to do everything she wanted, buy the food that she could only eat, watch only what she wanted to watch, and she made my sister and I her own personal Barbie dolls. When I say personal Barbie dolls, she wanted to be a hairdresser when she was older and practice on us. She thought that she could get better -newsflash! -she didn't. One time she wanted to put curls in my hair so I let her when the curls came out I looked like bloody Shirley Temple. 😤
Adult years: It only got worse as we grew into adults. For some reason my older and younger sisters had competition between each other, which left me in the dark and that was okay, I was too weird for them. At this point I had gone through my own demons. Anyway, we are all "adults" The older sister still acts like she never grew up. In 2016, all hell broke loose my older sister got into sell mlms (yuck!). The only reason why she said that she got into selling mlms is because she was helping her friends, hmm yea no just wanted to be a part of a group. She was selling herbal life, a weight loss program, now she did lose the weight while on this program, but she didn't stick to it. Also at this time she was married to her husband of eight years. She then met her current boyfriend when her family moved to another town. After that her and the husband split up. Now reader ,I never said they got legally divorce so they are still married to this day while she is with another guy. In 2017, I met my lovely wife on Facebook. We had a long distance relationship for a 1.5 years. In 2018 they came over to the states and asked me to marry them and of course I said yes!! They came back over in early 2019 because we had an event plan and while they were here we had a big family dinner. Oh goodie, I would rather go to church then do this dinner. The day of the family dinner comes up and everyone is happy to meet my fiancee, Fox. Well let's get on with dinner. The whole family went and sat down, and even before we started eating, Horse insisted on saying a prayer, now I was raised Christian, but I am pagan and so is my fiancee. After that we went to the all you can eat buffet. Now my mom can't have the buffet because she has a seafood allergy (understandable) ,but Horse and Leech didn't go to the buffet because and I quote, " Oh Leech doesn't eat seafood and neither do I." In my brain I am "What?!? since when?!?" That was a lie 🤥!! She used to eat a pound of shrimp when we were the kids. As we were eating, we were talking to each other, Llama asked me, "Bunny where are you guys going to get married", and I explained that I was going to move to Ireland, (where I live now) and we are going to get married at the register office and later on we are...then Horse butt in and said, "Leech and I are getting married at the lake" All of sudden both Llama and I said,l: "Aren't you still married?!" That shut her up. Yes my reader she never got divorced , so legally she is still married. After that I finally got to say what I was going to say, "Going to have a vow renewal at Ren fest in Kansas City later on down the line." All of a sudden Horse said: "Oh there is no way Leech and I can go because Leech is a convicted CP." In my mind:" Wtf, you are my sister and you are picking a guy over my vow renewal ?!?
