2024.06.02 10:48 LieutenantPatang Sarkar Reimagined

I am back after a break with another reimagining, and I thought this time I would tackle another movie that fell disappointingly short of expectations... Sarkar. Sarkar released to huge expectations after the success of both Thuppakki and Kaththi, but the film failed to deliver on its promise of a Mudhalvan-like political fantasy; I have to admit though, the movie is a guilty pleasure of mine which I do often revisit. That being said:
WARNING: I am not claiming to be a better writer than any of the people involved in the film and this is not a criticism of their ability.
The movie begins with a boarding meeting at one of the companies in Canada that GL (Sundar's company) is about to acquire. The members of the board nervously waiting for the arrival of their new boss, the media is waiting outside and we get the hype up for Sundar's eventual mass intro. After a build a of tension, a Rolls Royce pulls up and the camera follows as a man wearing pair of Tom Ford shoes exits the vehicle and walks into the elevator in the building as the media tries to snap some pics of him. The members of the board continue to wait impatiently, as the elevator doors open to reveal Sundar Ramaswamy (Vijay). He basically walks in doesn't say a word and sits at the head of the table. Sundar's lawyer drops the paperwork on the table, each member of the board takes their turn signing the document. Finally the document comes back to Sundar who flicks his signature onto it and gets up to leave, but one of the board members stops him to ask, "How do you feel after ruining the livelihood of 3,000 employees?". Sundar turns around and smiles at the board before doing the signature 'Vijay gum flick' and walking away in slow motion, queue the 'CEO in the House' song as Sundar heads out to celebrate acquiring the company. The scene is to establish Sundar as a proper overconfident and cocky 'corporate monster' instead of just telling us that he is a 'corporate monster'.
From there the movie continues pretty similarly with Sundar coming back to India to cast his vote, even though he takes his job very seriously he is still a patriot at heart and has a soft corner for his people. Same as the movie, someone else casts his vote and he begins organising lawyers meetings and press conference to get his vote back. All goes pretty much the same until the point Sundar's driver tells him about the atrocities done by the government and the family that set themselves on fire, Sundar is genuinely quite unaware of all this. Similar to the movie, he directs his convoy to go to the colony where the little girl is. Unlike the movie, we have one long take where the camera follows Sundar from behind as he gets out his car and walks through the local area, through the alleys and slums, observing the common folk; this is to show how out-of-touch he really is with reality. He finally comes to the little girl's house, and the camera finally pans to reveal Sundar's somber face; this scene is crucial as this paints his actions for the rest of the movie, it is important that we spend time showing how this incident impacts him. Unable to look at the girl's burnt face Sundar turns around and walks away, he signals his PA to sort the family out with treatment for the little girl.
From here, we go to the scene with Rendu (Radha Ravi) at the hotel; this will go pretty much exactly how it did in the movie. The only difference here is, going into the hotel Sundar is slightly solemn, but his expression slowly changes with Rendu's speech and we get the scene with the 'Topu Tuckeru' BGM as Sundar smokes. The following events also unravel similar to the film with the action block and the 'Simtaangaran song'; these are commercial filler compromises that must be made, its also a staple of the ARM-Vijay combo movies. The following scene is also similar with Sundar instigating the court case to stop Masilamani's inauguration, the key difference though is that Sundar doesn't speak in the court he silently watches from the stands as his lawyer does the arguing. Once the ceremony is stopped, he gets up, does the 'Vijay gum flick' and walks away in slow motion with the 'CEO in the House' BGM; this mirrors the opening scene where Sundar finesses the board room, but this time he's finessed the government. The election is postponed by 10 days.
Meanwhile, Masilamani is furious by what Sundar started, he encourages his party members to start rioting and to find where Sundar is. The riots go on for 2 days, but there is no sign of Sundar anywhere. Masilamani grows impatient and starts seeking advice from Pappa (Varalaxmi), who says that they shouldn't have tried instigated or started beef with him in the first place, saying that she will be back in Chennai within the next day or so. While this is happening, media crews have gathered outside Masilamani's house which confuses him. Rendu goes outside and asks them why they are here, for which they respond: 'Sundar told us to meet him here'. Both Rendu and Masilamani are shocked. Suddenly a convoy of youngsters on bikes arrive with a Rolls Royce travelling at the centre of the party. Sundar gets out of the Rolls Royce and he is followed by his lawyers. Sundar asks for permission to enter, for which Masilamani obliges. The two sit down and face each other, with Masilamani asking what Sundar wants. Sundar responds with this:
  1. "I've got 750 youngsters who are ready to work for this party."
  2. "I've got 40 crores in hard cash."
  3. "I've got the tag of GL CEO."
  4. "Will you let me join your party?"
Masilamani and his partymen are shocked, he asks Sundar 'Why should I let you?". Sundar basically responds by saying:
"Your party's image is in shambles, even if you pay people to vote for you, they won't do it. You're guaranteed to lose this election and there's nothing you can do about it. I'm here to offer you the winning card, I will do everything to ensure your party retains. All I ask for is 70cr in campaigning funds and that you give me 2 MLA seats and take in the 750 youngsters that I have brought as party members. If your party loses, I will pay you twice what you paid me as a penalty but regardless of the outcome you can't raise this to the media or I will sue your ass. If you agree, sign the contract. You can let your lawyers read over it, but you have nothing to lose."
Masilamani is shocked by this offer and looks over the contract, he doesn't know how to read so he passes it to his lawyer who verifies it and says that it's legit. Rendu proposes that they wait for Pappa before signing, but Sundar says "if you don't accept this within the next 1 hour, I will take it to the opposition party". Masilamani is properly checkmated now, but what could he possible have to lose? He smiles and signs it, Sundar smiles and shakes his hand. Sundar walks out with a cigarette in-hand, the 'Oru Viral Puratchi' guitar rift rolls in the background.
INTERMISSION
Going into the second half, we have a few questions:
NOTE: I completely ignored Keerthi Suresh's character as it added nothing to my story.
With 8 days left till the election Sundar sits in his office, he calls his team and GL and tells them to run the ads of him giving the post press conference speech after getting back his vote (as he does in the movie). This creates waves in the media and makes him the poster boy for the coming election. He tells his PA not to organise any press conferences until he says so. Sundar has booked out a small venue where he will be speaking to the 750 youngsters that he has inaugurated into the party, this is where he finally reveals what happened in the last 2 days. We get a flashback and it is revealed that he ultimately did the same as what happened in the movie; to run an internet scan on all the most suitable candidates of each constituency and run interviews like a corporate company (I really like the idea of this), he positions the people he selected as independant candidates in their respective constituency. Sundar has been planning this since the scene with Rendu at the hotel; this all plays as a montage over the first half of 'Oru Viral Puratchi'. After the song we cut back to this speech with Sundar and the youth, where he basically says we are going to infiltrate this party from the inside and then he says the 'branding' dialogue from the movie (which I like the idea of, the mannerism was kinda cringe though).
Following the speech, Sundar enacts his next plan. He identifies Masilamani's candidates who are most likely to win in their respective area and launches a smear campaign through his influence over GL. This forces Masilamani to identify alternate party members to take their place, but Sundar presents Masilamani with the constituency polling data which shows that the independant candidates (that he selected based on the internet scan) are in the lead. Sundar suggests to Masilamani that they buy them out with a salary (also like corporate company), however Masilamani doesn't know that these individuals were planted by Sundar. Masilamani is beginning to get suspicious about Sundar's plan but he still hasn't fully sniffed it out yet given his lack of understanding about technology.
Pappa finally arrives in Chennai from Canada and confronts her dad about everything that has happened, she is shocked to find out that he has basically sold the party to Sundar. She is quickly able to deduce Sundar's plan based on the information given by her dad and Rendu. Pappa also reveals here that her husband was one of the board members from the start of the movie, which explains why she knows so much about Sundar.
Given that Sundar now controls most of the seats in the party, he begins his campaign from the background with candidates doing most of the work ; this plays over the second half of the 'Oru Viral Puratchi' song. As soon as this montage finishes, we find out that Masilamani has died. A confusion has now arisen as to who controls the party, with only 3 days left until the election. Pappa gives an angry press conference saying that Sundar had cheated her dad and stole the party, revealing the contract to the public. She also announces that she and her father's loyal supporters will be joining the opposition party. Based on the sympathy votes gained from her father's death the opposition offers Pappa a significant number of seats. Sundar is shocked to see what has happened, he won't be able to sue Pappa as Masilamani was the one that signed the contract (not sure about legal terms, but lets just go with it), suing her will also only get him more negative press.
Sundar gets a call from the GL board questioning him about his extensive involvement in politics given the bad press around his contract stunt. Cut to the next scene, Sundar is in a press conference and publicly announces his resignation from GL as he is about to leave the stage, he is heckled by one of the reporters on his way down. Sundar has to give up his company assets such as his PA and bodyguards, if he loses this election he still owes Masilamani's family 140crs as per the contract that he signed. For the first time in Sundar's life, overconfidence has led to his downfall. With two days left till the election and no internet influence and power, how is Sundar going to win?
The next day he posts a Facebook live and addresses his plan transparently with the party, this can be the same as the 'Idhu Namma Sarkar' scene from the movie. Sundar explains how he chose his candidates and compares it to the millions of college graduates who get a corporate job, highlighting the need for the government to be qualified. This gets some positive buzz for Sundar but not enough to win the election. As Sundar sits in his office, hopelessly, one of his candidates tells him about 'Saatai' Muthukumar (this plotline will be the same as the movie); this could be the ideal trump card to win the election. This ticks of an idea, given that all Masilamani's loyalists have moved to the opposition along with Pappa all the party assets now reside with Sundar. He hires a corporate auditing team to unpack all the party records and finds all the holes in there records this allows him to unpack the 'Saatai' Muthukumar conspiracy and he has all the evidence ready to go public... but he waits. Sundar contacts Pappa for a meeting and the two sit down, with lawyers present. Sundar reveals everything that he has found from his audit of the party and threatens to go public with it unless she voids their contract where he owes her family 140cr, he also agrees to sign an NDA. Pappa obliges and asks him to burn the evidence in front of her, which Sundar does. On the car ride home, Pappa orders for Sundar to be murdered as she doesn't trust him.
The next morning is the day of the election, similar to the actual movie Sundar begins tweeting from a fake twitter handle about the evidence pulled from the audit, leading the media on a wild easter egg hunt to put the evidence together themselves, this removes any paper trails that lead back to Sundar. Pappa and the opposition party struggle to manage the storm that has been caused by the tweeting, she knows this was done by Sundar but has no evidence to prove it; the only way for her save face is if Sundar confesses to his manipulation for which he needs to be alive, so she cancels the hit on him. It is soon revealed, similar to the movie that the fake twitter handle is associated with that of a dead man, begging the question of who is tweeting? Sundar and his team re-route the IP address of the tweets to the leader of the opposition party and spin the narrative that he did this to tarnish Masilamani's reputation as a leader, which leads to in-fighting. Pappa is furious, as although she knows the truth about Sundar's access to the evidence, she can't speak about it due to the NDA (which would open her up to being sued). With no other option, she plots to have Sundar killed, as it looks like he is going to win. We can insert an obligatory climax fight here, where Sundar overcomes the odds but realising an opportunity, he fakes his own death which increases the votes to his party, leading to a victory in the election.
The following day is the swearing-in ceremony as all the candidates take up their positions. Pappa is also present and she along with everyone else believes Sundar is dead. Just as the first candidate is swearing-in, Sundar arrives and sits right next to Pappa, there is a media frenzy happening outside. There is a small bit of dialog between the two and he explains why he did all this (i.e. reference back to the girl who was burnt outside the collecter's office, etc). He finally tells her that the contract he signed with her father was only for 8 days, so his time has expired and he is no longer part of the party. Sundar gets up and walks away in slow motion as the credit roll.
This is my reimagining of Sarkar, what are your thoughts and what would you do differently? And what movie should I do next?

2024.06.02 10:47 redivy33 AIO to be furious that ex friend is turning people against me?

Long one sorry! I'm in a situation where I recently distanced myself from a very close friend due to her behaviour. Our lives were very intertwined and it would have been difficult to distance myself gradually, so I told her that I dont feel as close to her anymore and why. She has since blocked me on everything (understandable as she mudt be hurt) and I have been told by her husband 'never to contact the family ever again' - very dramatic. She is really playing the victim and hasn't acknowledged that her behaviour is wrong. I distanced myself from her because she is judgemental, bitchy and downright spiteful about everyone in her life. Examples (there are many many more than this) are as follows:
-She said that one of our friends didn't deserve her phd because her parents helped her financially. -She told our friends personal information about my mental health after she and I had a disagreement. This happened a while ago but wrecked my trust in her. -She told me that a mutual friend's husband had an affair- friend didn't want anyone to know. -She has repeatedly expressed a lack of empathy for friends who are having issues at work etc: 'why is she even stressed, she works in the private sector', 'she should have known what the job was like.' -She said that a person we know (they are supposedly close friends - we'll call the person A) has had more kids than she can cope with (3) and doesn't parent them. She also said that this person's oldest child (5) is 'sly' and 'spiteful', being critical of A on lots of occasions behind her back.
A (mentioned above, ex friend and her have become close over the past number of years, going on holiday together etc) and I used to be very close in our early twenties (12 years ago) but grew apart due me moving away from home town (I'm back now), We had started to meet up again infrequently for coffee etc which was lovely as I have missed her. I have messaged her to see if she is about for coffee and a playdate (her DD 2 and my DS 1.5 will be the same class at school) and she has completely ignored my message. I have also realised that she has blocked me on social media since ex friend and I fell out. AIO to feel angry and sad for both her and myself to think that my ex friend has played the victim to her (despite saying awful things about her parenting and child), turning A against me? I know I can't tell A about the stuff she has said as it would hurt A so I'm totally stuck.

2024.06.02 10:35 krammiit [PA] My employer fired my co-worker for sexual harrassment then re-hired him while I was on medical leave

US-PA. My first day back at work was today after injuring myself on the job. I had to have surgery and was off work for 3 months.
Before surgery, there was a man in the office who was sexually harassing me along with other co-workers. I filed a complaint with the company through email. I am not sure if anyone else complained to HR but he used the company directory to get my cell phone number.
Harassment included calling me at home, sexually suggestive comments through text, and I forwarded all communication through email including texts asking him to stop contacting me. He did not stop and HR moved him to a later shift. They told me he would leave me alone. He retaliated by speaking about me through co-workers and when I contacted HR again, he was fired.
I have saved all documentation from HR stating he was terminated. I then tore my rotator cuff while working in the shipping department.
While I was away during surgery and recovery, he was hired back to the company. A co-worker told me about this when I walked in the door. I immediately texted my boss (who is not on the site on weekends) and her reply was;
"Yes he was re-hired. He doesn't ever work the daylight shift so you don't have to see him.".
The threat of seeing him still exists as he can come on to the property whenever he wants to. I fear more retaliation. I wonder if i should just quit but need the position. What can I do?

2024.06.02 10:28 Initial-Director7701 I (28F) am trying to understand if my fiancé (26M) is telling the truth and should I keep the relationship going, what is the best course of action?

I met my partner online almost two years ago but stayed friends until we started dating March 23. Of the two he definitely pursued me but I did do some light flirting, as is my nature - he was very keen. He explained he had broken up with his ex in August 22 just before we started talking and by the time he asked me out he had blocked her and they were no longer speaking.
The early relationship was great, he was very attentive, save for us being 3 hours apart and both working very time consuming jobs where we could talk every day but see eachother maybe two weekends a month. I felt very cherished and important and I was happy.
Fast forward to Feb 24, just under a year into the relationship he starts acting a lot more distant... He's never been open with me about his feelings because my welfare was always the priority, but now I just felt something was off. My friends were supportive and suggested to give him the benefit of the doubt. At the time I had a lot of personal things going on including a very sick close family member so I didn't think too much of it. I proposed on the leap year as is traditional in Ireland for the woman to do, partially because I really liked him and partially to give my sick family member something to live for. He moved in to my house after the engagement... I didn't ask, he just turned up with his stuff and was on long term sick from work so he could.
After he said yes he said when he was going to propose he was going to sit me down first and be honest with me about things in his life and if I was still interested we could get engaged... He told me he used to be an alcoholic and smoked /vaped (both things he had told me he never did - not that I have a problem with that, he had just lied) he told me he had massive debts due to his ex making him pay for everything and promising to pay him back but she never did, he told me that because of the two kids he had with his ex as a teen (that were given up for adoption but she kept in contact with the mum) - that I knew existed - he didn't break up with his ex in the august, he broke up with her in late February but continued to sext for a few months because she said if he did that he could see the kids. He said that she was highly abusive to him in every form and that's why he didn't believe our relationship was real - that he was just a rebound.
I felt like the person looking at me wasn't the person I had proposed to. I had trouble telling friends and family we were engaged. I was trying to process, but then my family member died, and my friend died, and my manager at work started bullying me, and two loved ones were sick and rushed to hospital, and all of a sudden my life was in turmoil. He stayed with me through it all, has given me space and allowed me to be myself, but something isn't sitting right with me. I haven't shown him affection in a month, I haven't said I love you in weeks, and I'm refusing to wear the ring he got for me.
He is still trying really hard around the house to be good but I can't look at him. It's been 2/3 months and I still feel unhappy. He said he will change and be honest, and he promises I'm his number 1 that he loves more than life itself but I think he's lying. Despite me seeing him try more. He can be so wonderful to me and cherishes me and treats me really well but I'm unsure... Do I continue to give him a chance and possibly get relationship counselling? If I break up with him and kick him out he has no where to live and no friends or family that would take him, he's also got life changing surgery within the next 3 months which would need a long recovery... I feel really lost and confused. Do I give him a chance? Is he telling the truth that I'm his number one now?
TL:DR I proposed to my fiancé and he dropped a load of truth bombs, I feel different, do I stay and forgive or kick him out onto the streets?

2024.06.02 10:19 smultronstelle Replacing a window fitting?

Hi everyone, English is not my mother tongue but I hope I get the words right. I broke my (German) window fitting, now it's only possible to tilt it but not to completely open it. I already contacted the local workshop but they forgot about the request several times for whatever reason. Is it possible to buy a spare part on my own? I found this number 23 gr. 180 tl/g 1090 1801 - 2000 and also a fitting on the internet with this exact number but without any indication of measurements. Are these standardized or could it be that I buy sth with other dimensions? And would it be easy to replace the fitting with medium craft skills and experience?
Thank you in advance!

2024.06.02 10:03 TomSorcc My Story about my Ex and about NoContact.

Hey, right now im sitting in the Bus to Thessaloniki and i think about my ex-girlfriend.
I have been in a situationship with my ex for like 2 years and we were only in a relationship for 1 month. But let me tell you, situationships suck, if you have more feelings.
At some point i was so blind. She kissed some other guys on some parties 1-2 times and afterwards always told me, that she was just drunk and she has more feelings for me. I always believed her and i mean she was allowed to kiss other people because we were only in a "situationship". But we were hanging out together all the time, i went to her parents place. They invited me multiple times to the restaurant and we went on vacation multiple times. For me it was definitely more then only a "situationship" and i always told her. She always said, she has feelings too but doesnt want to commit i think. Other times she was realy toxic towards me and i still kept believing in us. I have never seen the red flags in her because i was so blind.
6 months ago we parted ways as "friends" because i wasnt investing anymore in our situationship so i tried to focus on myself and hoped that she would reach out to me and maybe ask me why i am not so active towards her anymore. but she didn't. she just accepted it, moved on and slept with other guys. i was realy sad and talked about it but it was just over by then and i told her that i dont want anymore contact.
so we had some friends together and we were invited to a pubquiz every week for some months. first we wrote eachother and if one of us was going to the quiz, the other one wouldnt. sounds realy healthy, so i have to not see her again. but still writing with her again was probably not good for me. i think she still cared, so she tried to not hurt me by not going to the quiz, when i was there. but at some point i thought im over it and told her she can also come to the quiz. so we have seen each other once every week but we didnt talk much.
it was not good for me. i was thinking of her every damn day. i had dreams with her and it still hurt me. because somehow i wasnt over her.
for the context: when we were close, she won 2 interrail tickets and we planned to do the trip together. she transferred one ticket to me and it was not reversible.
now i am on the interrail trip alone and i think she is also on the trip alone but kinda one week ahead of me with similar route. we had contact again. first she asked me if i want some tips for the citys i am gonna visit and where she has been i replied because i thought it would be nice.
but traveling alone is realy hard, if your heart is still broken. i felt very lonely, thought of her everyday and writing with her again was realy hard for me. that was 2 weeks ago. 1 week ago she asked me again if i want any advices for the next city.
then it triggered in my head. i gathered all the courage i had and wrote her a long message. i think it was realy needed. told her, that i will do the trip alone, dont want her advices anymore, that she broke my heart and that its realy hard for me to write to her while i am traveling alone. i told her "please dont answer to this message" and wished her a good trip and good life for the future.
by now i have met alot of other people on my trip. i try to not think about her and i keep going. i realy try to focus on myself and try to enjoy this trip to its fullest. so i think i have finaly moved on by telling her directly my feelings and that i dont want anymore contact.
so i feel realy much better now. i have never thought that i need more then 6 months to get over her. i dont think i am over her now but its getting better!
tl;dr (advice): if you have contact with your ex but you know its better to dont have any contact. GATHER COURAGE and tell them. and block them if necessary. its hard but its realy worth it!
sidenote: sorry for bad english, its not my native language

2024.06.02 09:55 AdInteresting2401 Sick through meditation? - German media

For some, intensive meditation can cause mental suffering. The predominantly positive image of meditation makes it difficult for those affected to be heard in the event of side effects, as SWR research shows.
By Linda Huber, SWR
Millions of people in Germany meditate regularly. The offerings range from apps and online courses to meditation in studios and multi-day retreats. According to a Statista Consumer Survey, almost one in four people between the ages of 18 and 64 have a meditation app on their cell phone. A Buddhist tradition has long since become a mass phenomenon and the market for mindfulness is booming, with meditation often being praised as a cure for stress and mental health problems. However, recent scientific studies show that intensive meditation can also trigger serious psychological side effects. This side effect is often ignored or trivialized, as research by the investigative format Vollbild revealed.
One in ten meditators suffers from side effects
In a ten-year long-term study, US psychologist Willoughby Britton from Brown University was able to prove that around one in ten meditators develop side effects that severely restrict them in their everyday life. According to Britton, anxiety, traumatic flashbacks and hypersensitivity are the most common side effects of meditation. German studies also point to undesirable side effects of meditation: a study by a working group at Charité Berlin found that a total of 22 percent of 1,397 meditating test subjects had undesirable effects. Of these, around nine percent were classified as mild and temporary, while 13 percent had moderate to extreme adverse effects that required treatment, were permanent or even required hospitalization.
Negative effects often underestimated
Research on meditation over the past 20 years has mostly shown positive effects such as the reduction of stress or depression. Psychologist Britton criticizes the research on contemplative practices and points out that the negative effects of meditation are often underestimated.
In Germany, the first contact point for victims of meditation side effects has been open for two years at the Institute for Frontier Areas of Psychology and Mental Hygiene in Freiburg. Psychologists Ulrich Ott and Liane Hofmann set up the contact point. They report that the consultation hours are already very popular and that the level of suffering of many of those affected is high. The psychologists suspect a high number of unreported cases and assume that there is a great need for counseling in Germany.
Panic attacks, hospitalization, suicide after meditation
Fullscreen has spoken to several people who have developed severe psychological problems after intensive meditation and had to be treated in a clinic. A 26-year-old student from Wiesbaden describes how he developed panic attacks after intensive meditation with an app and had to be treated in a clinic. A 28-year-old doctoral student from Düsseldorf reports that she developed delusions after an intensive retreat and had to be hospitalized, while a particularly drastic case from Canada shows extreme consequences: A young woman left a ten-day meditation retreat early and took her own life. Her mother reports that her daughter already felt unwell during the retreat. When asked, the meditation center explained that it was deeply saddened by the tragic incident. Teachers are trained to recognize signs of mental imbalance, and students are not asked to continue meditating if they are in distress.
Responsibility seen in meditators
The predominantly positive image of meditation often means that those affected have difficulty being heard and understood when side effects occur, and that providers often see meditators as being responsible.
US researcher Britton also observes this: "Blaming the victim is probably the most common reaction. It comes in many different varieties." It is often said that the person has already brought the problems with them. The retreat or the provider are therefore not responsible. Or the person has meditated incorrectly. "The normal meditation teacher wants to be helpful, and then to hear that you have caused harm is a very difficult kind of feedback," says Britton.
The psychologists Ott and Hofmann criticize the fact that meditation providers often deny responsibility for possible side effects: "It is of course also the responsibility of the providers to check in advance whether the people are mentally healthy, whether they are stable and not to deny all responsibility with such a disclaimer," says Ott. However, the offers often state: "Participation at your own risk. This clearly places the responsibility on the participants," says Ott.
No mandatory training, no monitoring
How little attention is paid to risks is also shown by an undercover investigation: in a self-experiment, Vollbild asked around 20 meditation providers for a course and stated that the supposed interested party had mental health problems. Only a few advised her to consult a doctor or therapist beforehand. The providers' websites did not provide any information on the risks and side effects of meditation in advance. In Germany, there is the Association of Mindfulness Teachers with eight training institutes and around 1,000 mindfulness teachers. According to full-screen research, undesirable side effects of meditation are an issue in training here. However, the training is voluntary. Anyone who wants to can offer meditation. There are no controls. This is another reason why many meditation teachers are apparently overwhelmed by the psychological damage and side effects of meditation.

Comments to the video:
"The fact that meditation or Buddhist practice in general (not just sitting) has dark sides has always been described. In Buddhist sutras, entire texts are dedicated to the spiritual decline of some practitioners. In Zen, "meditation sickness" is a well-known term, as is "lung" in Tibetan Buddhism. Various studies prove that there are often psychological problems, especially during intensive meditation sessions. For example, one psychologist describes that deprivatized sitting without movement can stress the neurons to such an extent that psychosis-like states can be reached. If you need help or would like more information on the possible symptoms and side effects (based on scientific data), please visit Cheetah House, they can also help those affected. What Micki describes at the beginning is also something that I consider extremely dangerous, if any teacher says to you "you have to go through this", then you should distance yourself as quickly as possible. Meditation should never be associated with thoughts of self-optimization or the desire for eternal happiness, in Zen they say "Zen brings nothing", or you could say, seek neither happiness nor unhappiness, only in this way can an authentic path be realized, with in my opinion clearly more serenity. Unfortunately, it is not without reason that many practitioners have been saying for a long time that 80 percent of Buddhist offerings are not authentic. Just look at the charlatans who serve as role models these days: Hinnerk Polenski, Shi Heng Yi, Zensho W Kopp... All people who are self-proclaimed masters."
"Shi Heng Yi has never studied Shaolin Buddhism, but has a martial arts master title under an American, yet the Otterberg Temple claimed to teach people on official behalf of the Henan Mother Temple, the warning then came quickly, officially Shi Heng Yi has recently made the first pin in the Warrior Monk Duan Pin System, so he is at the level of a novice. Nevertheless, he sells books on Zen Buddhism and the like. (Shaolin is Chan, Japanese Zen) and also meditation courses with dubious people for thousands of euros, which of course has nothing to do with Zen or Shaolin. Then Hinnerk, could never prove his mastery, like many others of the controversial Oi Saidan lineage he was only in the monastery for a few weeks. Zensho W Kopp, claims to have received Zen mastery from a teacher, but as I said, this man is only a teacher and not a master and therefore cannot confer mastery, but has never claimed to do so. It is clear that this can only result in spiritual confusion, but people who have no prior knowledge of religious integrity find it difficult to differentiate. In the end, a spiritual ego is built. But that doesn't mean that the “authentic” path isn't full of stumbling blocks. Who wants to let go of their ego? For some it can actually brighten up life again, but I think it is much more difficult to find an authentic guru these days than the danger on the path itself. For Buddhist practice, at least in Zen, sitting meditation is not necessary.
“I do not wash my hands or shave my head, I do not read sutras or observe precepts, I do not burn incense, I do not do sitting meditation, I do not perform memorial ceremonies for a master or Buddha.”
Chin'g gak Kuksa Hyesim (1178-1234)
How about that? :)"

I’m going to Yonsei for the 6-week summer program and am debating whether to get a sim/esim that gives me a Korean phone number or just data. Does anyone know if Yonsei likes to contact students through the phone number? Is it needed inside Yonsei or to use services inside Yonsei? Thank you :)
And if anyone could drop their recommendations for which sim/esim to get, please do!

2024.06.02 09:29 Admirable-Tale-5351 An opinion : Investing anymore in India as a citizen may not be a wise decision

My family owns a house in central chennai and a couple more by chromepet. Already temperatures were way past 40 degrees this Summer. I've been hearing reports of 50 degree records in Delhi.
My prediction is that most of India that records a temperature past 37 degrees in summer will soon be inhabitable in the next 3 decades or so.
Rising sea levels may not pose an immediate danger in the near future for atleast half a century more for chennai but other sensitive areas like kerala backwaters and the lakshadweep will for sure be affected. Some of the islands in lakshadweep have a maximum elevation of 1 meter with the perimeter spanning less than a kilometer.
My parents have been asking me to buy a car. I wish to buy a good bike but am resisting to coz I see no future in investing on a vehicle or anything else for that matter in India.
Let's be honest, no matter how much we love our country, no matter how nationalist we are, we know that our lives as well as our children's lives will be better if we leave it for a first world country. A first world country with minimal Indians. Coz I have seen a lot of clips on social media where people hate Indians coz of their sheer number and their mannerism. Like not waiting in a queue for a bus in Britain and so much more.
However painful it seems, it is the truth. And I don't believe the situation is going to get better anytime soon with a population soon to be surpassing China, we are grandly fucked.
Everything I said above is my opinion. My apologies if I offended you. If you have a different view than mine, kindly share it and we can as a community engage in a constructive debate.

2024.06.02 09:28 psyakibo [NF] A Strange String of Coincidences

I had the strangest encounter experience. I have just arrived home from my trip to Japan (Lasted two weeks.) Throughout the trip I visited all the major cities, and ended the trip in Tokyo (4 nights). The hotel was in Shinjuku. On the 2nd day, I lost my room key, and you needed a room key to access the floors, so I hitchhiked an elevator ride with a stranger to get to my floor.
This is when the coincidences started. {This is a loosely remembered conversation, it's not word for word}
"What floor?" I asked. "Five, but I already pressed it. :D" they replied. "Ah- Sorry that I ran in here (They flinched a little when I ran into the elevator), I lost my room key so I had no way to get to my floor-" I said as I nervously laughed. "Oh, don't worry then! :D" they said. "Yeah, thank you for your help, I needed to get to my floor" and I laughed some more. The door opened and they left for their floor, but they turned around as if they were about to say something... "Have a nice night," I told them. "Yeah, good night :D" they said.
This later turned into a major regret, because this felt like one of the most comfortable conversations I have ever had when talking to someone face to face.
I later saw them in the morning of the next day, but they were with someone (Supposedly their father I'd assume). I was eating breakfast with my mother, and we were discussing itinerary. We were going to Ginza that day. Ironically enough, the first place we hit in Ginza, I saw them again.
I then saw them once more in the hotel lobby that evening. Please keep in mind that the hotel had 14 floors, and possibly 200+ guests. I saw different people eating every morning, except for this person and their travel partner (Lets go with that.)
I kept thinking of our conversation, and I wondered was it a coincidence to see each other 3 times? I thought of maybe exchanging contacts, but I thought that'd be too brash, and if I did I'd want it to be somewhere private, not in a public area. (I'm an absurdly socially awkward person).
The next morning, I saw them again. I didn't see them again in the evening, but it was turning to only two days left before I leave Japan... I thought, is it a coincidence that I saw them 4 times already? After pondering if its a coincidence, or some weird shit, I asked in my head, "Fate if you are real, let me be in an elevator with them once more, I won't mess this up."
The next day, I saw them a few more times. All in the elevator.
I'm not one to believe in superstitions, but this changed my beliefs; I'll be damned if I said Fate was not real.
The first time was with random strangers after pulling up to the hotel to hit the sack. (Hotel is on 3rd floor of a building, weird right?) The 2nd time was to get up to the hotel floors. (Because there's different floors) But I wasn't able to stay in the elevator because the elevator wouldn't close, so my mom and I got off. It closed all right.
Then in the evening, we had to drop something off for another story. Heading down the elevator(s), they also went down, just them. But my mom was with me, you know how weird she'd be if I asked them for their number and she'd be sitting there? This also happened on the way down to the ground floor.
I messed up. I never saw them again. I did not get their contact. I did not see them on the last day. I did see their travel partner, and we made an awkward long silent eye contact- But why should I ask them for their (The stranger's) number? This is a long shot in the dark, posting this here, maybe hoping they'd see it.
Now what I want to know is... Was this Fate? Or an absurd amount of coincidences?

Elevate Your Wins with These Bonuses and Promotions

SkyCrown is a relatively new gaming site that was launched in 2022. As such, this site seeks to entice players with exciting bonus promotions, including a welcome match deposit bonus, high roller bonus, reload bonuses, and more. Let’s unbox these promotions one by one.

First deposit bonus

We started our journey at SkyCrown by claiming the 100% match bonus, reaching $150. This platform also added 100 free spins to the match deposit bonus. They specify that the free spins can only be played on John Hunter and the Mayan Gods by Pragmatic Play.
Remember, you must deposit at least $30 using the SKY1 bonus code to claim this first deposit bonus package. Also, this bonus is unavailable for cryptocurrency, Neteller, and Skrill deposits.

Bonus percentage per game

Although you must meet the 40x wagering requirement on all games, the game contribution varies when fulfilling this requirement. According to SkyCrown, slots contribute 100% towards the bonus wagering except for a few listed games. For example, if you wager $5 on qualifying slots, the entire amount will be subtracted from the wagering requirement.

Claim even more bonuses

As a loyal player, SkyCrown keeps you occupied with a variety of bonus packages to choose from. However, most bonuses are available after depositing a specific amount using a promo code. We’ll explore all of them in this SkyCrown Casino review.

Second and third deposit bonuses

After bagging your first deposit bonus, the site invites you to deposit at least $30 using a SKY2 bonus code to claim the 50% match bonus up to $300. In other words, you’ll receive an amount half your real money deposit but not exceeding $300. This package also comes with 50 free spins on Thunderkick’s Pink Elephant.
The royal treatment continues with a third deposit bonus of 75% up to $300. To claim this reward, you must deposit at least $30 using a SKY3 bonus code. Like the first and second deposit bonuses, this promo also features 75 free spins on Pragmatic Play’s Gates of Olympus. If this game isn’t available, you can play BGaming’s Gold Rush with Johnny Cash.

Live casino welcome bonus

Are you a fan of live dealer games? Play your favorite titles and claim a 1% welcome rakeback on wagers not exceeding $1,500. The maximum weekly rakeback is $1,500 after depositing at least $75. Keep in mind that the rakeback is paid in actual money, meaning you don’t have to meet any wagering requirements.

High roller bonus

SkyCrown has a 50% up to $2,000 high roller welcome bonus for those who like playing big. This bonus is only available on your first deposit of at least $1,000 using the HIGH5 promo code. But there’s a catch. You must meet a 40x playthrough requirement within five days of receiving the bonus.

Friday cashboost rally

This site promises to reward you with 20% cashback on your weekly deposits to have even more fun. You only need to top up your account from Monday to Thursday to receive the 20% cashback up to $1,000 every Friday. Note that the deposit amount during the specified period must be $200+. You must also meet a 40x rollover rate before cashing out.

SkyCrown freespin spree

SkyCrown also offers a Free spin package that allows players to earn bonus spins every week after wagering at least $500 on any 3oaks or Redgenn games from Tuesday to Wednesday. Remember that your bonus spins will increase with a bigger bet amount.
  • Wager $500 to $999 to get 25 free spins
  • Wager $1,000 to $1,499 to get 50 free spins
  • Wager $1,500 to $1,999 to get 75 free spins
  • Wager $2,000 to $2,999 to get 100 free spins
  • Wager $3,000 and more to get 200 free spins

Crypto cashback

This platform allows you to deposit funds using multiple cryptocurrencies. If you’re a crypto player, you can claim 10% cashback of up to 1,000 USDT on net losses recorded on live dealer games and slots. The cashback bonus is calculated from Tuesday 00:00 UTC to Monday 23:59 UTC and is paid out every Tuesday at 18:00 UTC. Also, this bonus doesn’t have any wagering requirements.

Regular live casino bonus

Keep playing your favorite live dealer games and stand a chance to claim 10% of your losses in no-wagering funds every Wednesday. This cashback bonus is calculated on your losses from Wednesday 00:01 UT to Tuesday 23:59 UTC. However, you must use your live casino welcome offer to claim this reward.

50 Free spins every Monday

Start your week off with a bang! Every Monday, you can deposit at least $30 with a SKY1 code to pocket 50 free spins on Gamebeat’s Witch Treasures slot. This bonus is available if you made at least a single deposit the previous week and must have a withdrawal-to-deposit ratio exceeding 70%.

Explore SkyCrown Casino's Diverse Games Library

Very few Canadian gaming sites can compare to SkyCrown’s game-rich library. At the time of writing this SkyCrown review, we counted over 7,000 games from leading game developers such as Netgame, Gamebeat, BGaming, Mascot, and more.

Below are the game categories:

Slots

As expected, slot machines are the main offerings at this casino. You’ll find so many real money slots from BGaming, Reflex Gaming, Gamingcorps, and other software developers. The slots are available in varying categories, including Bonus Buy, Megaways, Books, Mythology, Expanding Wilds, and more. This should help you find your preferred slot machines easily.

Jackpots

SkyCrown has hundreds of jackpot slots to play if you’re after those extra-large jackpot wins. Some trending jackpot titles include Fortune Circus by Fugaso, Fortune Dreams by Lucky, Gold of Maya by Gamzix, and more. Games with progressive jackpot networks have a “JP” banner.

Table games

If you feel like taking a little break from slots, we advise you to check out their wide selection of table games. You’ll find numerous titles and variations for Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, and Poker. They also offer several Andar Bahar, Pai Gow, and Craps titles.

Instant games

Instant or arcade games have become fan favorites due to their fast-paced and rewarding gameplay. You’ll find several crash games, including Spribe’s Aviator, Aero by Turbogames, JetLucky 2 by Gamingcorps, and more. You’ll also find Plinko, Mines, and Dice titles.

Live casino

Live dealer games provide a unique table game experience in a real casino setting. SkyCrown ensures this by offering 300+ live dealer games from ALG, Bombay Live, Better Live, and TVBET. Sadly, we didn’t find any live titles from Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play Live.

Must Play Games at SkyCrown Casino

We understand that finding the best titles to play can be time-consuming and confusing. So we have done all the hard work to help you settle in quickly with these five titles:

SkyCrown Bonanza – BGaming

This is one of those custom-made slots you can only play at SkyCrown Casino. It’s a highly volatile slot designed by BGaming to offer a classic fruit-themed experience with an explosive 15,000x win potential. It delivers a simple design with relaxing music and bright icons to make it stand out from other fruit machines on this gaming site.

Sun of Egypt 3 – 3oaks

Launched in 2023, Sun of Egypt 3 is the third installment of this popular slot series. It’s a highly volatile slot that maintains the tradition of bringing the rewarding Hold and Win Jackpot and a decent 10,000x win potential. To boost your chances of collecting the jackpot, this game will reward you eight free spins after landing enough scatters with a retrigger option. You’ll also find a wild symbol that pays 12x the stake.

Vikings Go Berzerk – Yggdrasil

Despite launching in November 2016, this slot machine from Yggdrasil has maintained its position as one of the best Viking-themed slots. In this game, you’ll accompany brave and daring Vikings in their mission to fill up the rage meter and collect rewards. This game packs fun bonus features, including the Treasure Chest, Free Spins, and a 4,000x jackpot.

Story of the Samurai – Spinomenal

Story of the Samurai is a 2021 slot that takes you to challenge the Samurai warriors and claim big wins. It’s an exciting 5×3 slot packed with bonus features like Bonus Wheel, Mystery Symbols, Free Spins, Expanding Wilds, and Sticky Wild Respins. This game also has a friendly RTP potential of 96.71%.

Aviator – Spribe

If you haven’t played this instant game by Spribe, then you’re missing out. Launched in 2019, this game has become trendy among players due to its reliability and simplicity. The propeller airplane will take off, creating a multiplier curve representing your possible winnings. The sound effects of this game are also classy and relaxing. Enough said already!

Payment Methods Available at SkyCrown Casino

Banking is just as important as any other service an online casino offers. SkyCrown knows this, hence providing a list of 30+ secure banking methods. You can transact using online wallets, credit/debit cards, and cryptocurrencies. The minimum deposit for all payment mediums is $30, whereas the maximum depends on the selected method.
Here is a table to summarize the payment services:
https://preview.redd.it/yn5pv0fcw34d1.png?width=1182&format=png&auto=webp&s=d971b3f030596ebf32891b064dbabf856bd2b9df

Note that you will be subject to a KYC (Know Your Client) process before approving any withdrawal request. This is a standard procedure in all regulated casinos to verify your identity, location, and source of income. You must submit a copy of your identification paper, such as your ID/passport/driver's license, and proof of local address, like a bank statement/utility bill. The verification can take up to 24 hours.

Navigating the Casino: User Experience Unveiled

Everything about this casino oozes simplicity, class, and efficiency. The website is well-designed, using a minimalist and user-friendly approach. They also use an eye-friendly black background and sharp graphics, making it an excellent platform if you value those long gaming sessions.

We encountered no delays when loading up the website’s pages and games. Everything was instant and smooth, with most titles having a demo version. Finding our favourite game titles was also a breeze thanks to the intuitive search tool, although we would have preferred more game filtering options. In short, the developer did a solid job of providing a fulfilling touch when exploring the platform.

Mobile Compatibility

SkyCrown Casino works smoothly and seamlessly on mobile platforms. We tested the site on our Android and iOS smartphones and didn’t experience any disappointing lag or freeze.
As for the gaming difference, the experience is identical on iPhone and Android. You’ll find a menu icon at the top-left side of the screen, allowing you to access services like banking, account verification, loyalty program, and more. Below the menu, you’ll find game categories like Slots, Live Casino, New, Hot, and Jackpots. All in all, the mobile version is user-friendly and intuitive.

Safety and Security Measures in Place

SkyCrown Casino is a well-protected website with clear privacy policies. They are very transparent and make you aware of all the information they will collect from you. For example, this operator doesn’t rent or sell player data to third parties and is bound by strict legal provisions to protect your private data.
We can confirm that SkyCrown uses 128-bit SSL encryption technology from Let’s Encrypt. This is the standard data protection measure most Canadian casino sites use to secure your information from hackers and scammers. Another thing, you can set up 2-factor authentication to prevent unauthorized access to your account.
We also did our checks to see if we could find any red flags on platforms like Trustpilot and Reddit. Most bad reviews were about players who couldn’t withdraw funds after failing the KYC test. Provide the requested documents, and you won’t have any payment complaints.

Customer Support

Unfortunately, customer support is an area where SkyCrown Casino needs to improve. As a registered member, we found no live chat support, which is disappointing. Instead, they let you speak to an agent via email at [support@skycrown.com](mailto:support@skycrown.com). You can also complete the online contact form on the “Support” page.
But before contacting the support team, it’s worth checking if your concerns have been addressed on the FAQ page. Here, they list and answer some of the most common questions regarding account registration, payments, safety, bonuses, and more. If you’re new to crypto gambling, there is also a helpful page to read.
You can contact their support team in the following languages:
  • English
  • French
  • German

What's the Verdict?

SkyCrown Casino passes our test of a reliable Canadian gambling site. We love the wide selection of games and the vast variety of bonuses and promotions for new and loyal members. This site also does well in the payments department, providing tens of reliable fiat and cryptocurrency banking methods. And lest I forget, withdrawals via most of these payment mediums are instant, which is rare in the iGaming scene. The only drawback here is the limited customer support options. We give it a solid 4.5/5!

2024.06.02 09:00 KPsingular My girlfriend broke up with me after seeing photos of my ex on my phone

Me and my girlfriend have been together for 1.5 years. Everything was going smoothly but one day she saw some pictures of my ex on my phone and in one of them I was kissing my ex. That is such a screw up I have done. She contacted my ex and asked her to call me. She called and asked how I am. I didn't knew what two of them had planned. So my ex talked to me n I told her that I love my girlfriend but also shared that my girlfriend is pissed because of those pictures and those pictures were there because I still miss everyone who were there in my life whether it's my childhood friend whom I don't talk to. She recorded everything and sent it to my girlfriend. My girlfriend broke up with me. Blocked me from everywhere. I tried to contact her but there was no response. I called her from another number 3 days later. She said she doesn't love me and has moved on and is going on dates. She asked me not to contact her again. I said okay and didn't contact her after that. 3 days later she messaged me asking how I am. I said okay and asked her how she is. She was furious and was saying there is no chance we are getting back together. I said okay. Later that night she sent me a screenshot showing she is wishing someone else goodnight. She said I destroyed her life and ruined everything. I said goodnight. A week later she asked my friend how I am and he told her to contact me directly. She called me and we talked for 20 minutes. Later that night I asked her if she wants to get back. If not then she shouldn't ask how I am. I realised in morning that maybe I was rude and apologised. 4 days later she again contacted my friend asking him to find a new girl for me. He told her to repair the relationship rather than replace it. She said ok. He told me to text her. I did with a brief that I hope you are okay and I believe you wanted to know if I am ok. She responded with ok. In morning she said I destroyed her life and she will remember this and god will punish me. I sent a short message with apology and said I am working on myself and said that we can talk when she is comfortable. She replied with shut up.
All the stuff that she is going on dates was a lie to test how will I respond and she wanted to see if I will reveal any secret relationship I am hiding.
She reached out yesterday with an emotional message where she was felt hurt and betrayed. She said she is all alone she couldn't take it so she texted me. I talked to her and told her that it's okay if you feel you don't wanna get back. I told her if you do we can fix things. In the end of conversation she said that I can text her whenever I feel like. In the morning I texted her that I am there for her, she is not alone. All she replied to the text was "no". She is very angry she said in her last text.
What should I do now to get her back ? Should I do no contact or should I try talking to her ?

2024.06.02 08:48 RenegadeTyrant I (23M) am worried about my partner (23M)

I (23M🇹🇭) haven't heart a thing from my partner (23M🇺🇸) in days. He's not online anywhere. I've tried asking my friends to call his number and so far noone picks up. He has cut contact with his family and live with strangers in a shared house so I couldn't contact him through his friend/family.
I've been thinking and thinking about what could have happened and all my brain tells me is the worst case scenario. I've looked through local news and recent mugshots..so at least he didn't get into a deadly accident or got arrested...but still did he break his phone? Did power go out? Or did he get hurt??
I know he wouldn't just ghost me. I don't know what to do?

2024.06.02 08:47 throwaway_hina_scam HotelsInAmerica is a unquestionably a scam and it's not the only one

To all those curious travelers who saw an excellent price on Google:
HotelsInAmerica.com (HinA) is at best incompetent, and at worst a massive scam operation.
TL/DR: Linked to several other scam sites, no help desk support, unless you confirm immediately you'll likely be stranded.
Allow me to take you more patient readers on my journey.
In February, I made my reservation for this summer at a Hilton in a major US city. Several days later, I called the hotel to verify my information. No record of my visit was in their system. Calling HinA support, I was told this was usual and it might take a few weeks. I repeated this cycle one or two more times, and eventually was escalated to the HinA "Amendment Team".
Success! I got an email from travelhelpdesk@super.com (who knows how much they're paying for that domain). They had a booking reservation number from Hilton! I promptly called the Hilton hotel to verify this number, and was met with confusion. No record of that reservation. I sent more emails back to both Super.com and HinA, heard nothing back.
Eventually, I called a more general Hilton customer support line. Through a lovely customer support agent, I found out a few things about this Hilton booking number. First, it was for the wrong hotel, about 20 miles away from where I had booked originally. Second, this reservation had been canceled a few weeks after I had created it! The cancellation was from a company called Illusions Online (iOL), and she provided me with two phone numbers linked to the cancellation. I was able to hunt down the company, headquartered in Dubai. I verified both phone numbers, one of which was linked to iOL X which seems to provide the business-to-business support for making the reservations.
I proceeded to continue calling HinA support, speaking with various members of this mysterious "Amendment Team", all of whom said my reservation was still booked and good to go, at the correct hotel. None of them mentioned their travel partners or would pass me to anyone higher up.
Eventually I got fed up and contacted the iOL X phone number that I got from Hilton. There, I was able to find that the reservation was, in fact, canceled. I was also told of yet another agency, HappyTravel.com, which seems to have requested the cancelation. No reason was given, but this customer support representative also told me they'd work with their unnamed "travel partners" to resolve the situation. I still haven't heard back.
Today, my HinA confirmation page is still showing a successful booking but obviously it's an outright lie. As best as I can connect the dots, one of the various "Travel Partners" under this umbrella made a mistake, canceled the booking, and left me with no update or additional information. There seems to be a web of these travel sites (HotelsInAmerica, Super, HappyTravel) that somehow get past Google's filters, and all fall under the web of Illusions Online.
Do yourself a favor and avoid these sites. You might get lucky. Or you might end up like me, cold-calling Dubai after months of hunting down your reservation.

2024.06.02 08:46 PercMastaFTW ULPT: How to help access a neighbor’s locked mailbox

Your friend, Bryan, is away on a vacation and asks you to please pick up his $1000 paycheck in $100 bills that will arrive next Wednesday at his shared apartment mailbox. He asks you to hold it and keep it safe, but you do not have a key to open the mailbox.
He tells you to figure it out and that if you do, you can keep his mail as a reward.
So, send your target’s address multiple letters addressed to you on Friday through USPS. Send more on Monday.
Your first set of letters will be delivered on Tuesday/Wednesday, which are busier working days than the weekend. Using a tracking number service thrown in there could help.
Your second set of mail will arrive Wednesday/Thursday. Again, a tracking number will help you know where the driver is.
All you need to do is track down the postal worker either during or alittle after they drop off the mail. Tell them you lost your key and need help and that you live together with your brother (doing some research on your friend’s gender and other personal information will help).
Bonus points for wearing a military or ligma survivor hat.
They will be more than happy to assist.
Show them your ID. You already have letters in the mailbox addressed to you (or maybe they were already picked up by the friend the day before if they weren’t on vacation or weren’t ever in contact with you).
If there’s nothing in the mailbox, you should still be awaiting your new letters addressed to you, as well as any other packages your friend was going to receive, which should be in hand with the mail driver.
You now have your friend’s mail and can keep it because you helped him out.
Congratulations on helping your friend out by not committing a felony at all because he gave you explicit permission to do so.
