20 years ago on May 18th, A7X played in Calgary, Canada. I was on The Fallen Street Team, so I was able to get my friends in at the door before the show! I even made a T-shirt with a sharpie to promote the show for a few weeks before, HAH!
Shads showed of his tats for some fans, and we all chatted for almost an hour! Super nice guys. The Rev encouraged us to watch the openers, and he remembered us the next few times we met him up until summer 2005! He said they listened to our band’s demo in the tour van :)
Syn told me about his experience at Musicians Institute which led myself and 2 other friends to attend in 2009/2010. The Rev passed away the day we arrived to MI, sadly.
The venue did not expect the mass of day-of ticket sales, so they only half half of the venue booked off for the show. There was such an influx of people, many fans had to listen from outside, and sort of grab a view from the door.
May 19th, they played in Edmonton, 3 hours away, so we made it to both shows! I jumped on stage during the bridge of the final song, Unholy Confessions, and Shads put his arm around me, stuck the mic in my face and let me sing “Meant To Sin!!”, and I jumped into the crowd.
Val was working the merch table, and she said right after the show that the guys were driving straight to LA in one shot.. about 28 hour drive.
What a great memory. The band seriously changed me life!

The good news: I found legitimate squishmallow fluff for sale. Hometex Canada sells it. The bad news: Two pounds is not enough to completely replace the stuffing. It cost $30.
I kept the old fluff to try and find a place that does recycling, but now I am back to beg knowledge from the experts. How the fluff do I renew this stuff? Knitters deal with unruly fibers all the time, there has to be a way to keep from wasting this stuff.
Using a hair brush to fluff it takes forever. I attempted to use cat hair brushes as carding brushes, but the thickness of the clumps makes it seem like trying to brush out hair that is all knots. Putting it in a laundry bag and washing it just compresses the fibers instead of fluffing them. Any ideas?
